Summary
Mark Koernke discussed the 2008 presidential election, arguing that both major candidates represented the same political establishment and that meaningful change would not occur regardless of who won. He featured a humorous clip from the TV show Boston Legal starring William Shatner that satirized political correctness and gun rights. The bulk of the episode focused on practical firearms knowledge, with guest Darrell providing detailed advice on shotguns (particularly the Mossberg 500 and Maverick 88), barrel modifications, parts compatibility, and weapon maintenance. Mark emphasized the importance of distributing information sheets at community gatherings and gun shows, and discussed upcoming gun shows in Pennsylvania.

Live 365. But there are also some statements that they've been making and it's really talk about Twilight Zone. Anyway, you know, they've got these characters talking heads doing, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, They are both from the same cloth, they are both the same ilk, they are both the same bottom feeding parasites. What's fascinating about it is that they are doing this now. Well, everything that Obama is proposing, and this is obviously from people who are biased, you know from a network that's supposed to be reporting but instead they're doing all the you know suck up to Obama BS okay like he's different well but he's not and I mean that's really what they just said this is called George Orwell double speak constantly change change its change is going to be so different but Biden's with him well that's still change ignore Biden ignore the man behind the curtain And then they turn around and go, but it's okay and it doesn't make any difference because he's just like McLean. And McLean wants to do the same thing. Obama wants to... Well, that's what we've been saying all along, Daryl, isn't it? That's right. The only thing that's going to change in Washington is the name of the person that's sitting in the White House. Can you hear that scraping sound? You know what it is? It's where that guy comes in, he's got a box, it's got a whole bunch of paints in it, and he scrapes the one guy's name off the glass. He spends about an hour and a half carefully painting the next name on the glass. That's what change is going to be. Oh wait a minute, there's another version of that. What is that? That's the sound of the three screws, well four screws that are holding the little brass plate, you know the cheapy chikam engraved plate that's coming off the door and That's the four screws going back in to replace and put the other brass plate up. That's the change guys. There you go They're only arguing over who's gonna be lording over you. They're not talking about backing off They're not talking about getting rid of all this police state BS They like it and they want more in fact the greedy little buggers want more and more and more Give me power Well, I guess anyway The question is, how much is enough? Well, I'll tell you what real quick here. We're going to have some fun today too. This is Weapons Wednesday. Ed's got something ready to play, so I'll tell you what, listen up here guys, this is cute. And see if you can recognize the voice and you guess who it is. Uh oh. Well, just one minute. Hold on a second. I know we're going to get here. This is live radio. That's what's always fun is like. And there we go. Who are you? Oh, I'm part of the neighborhood crime watch. The way this works is you watch. I commit the crime. Holy crap. Oh, no. No, no. There's no talking. You just give me your watch and wallet. Now. Here's my problem. You're black. Oh, Mr. Crane! What? I'm Debbie Crane. I'm a big shot. So am I. If you kill me, the headline's gonna be... Black guy kills white big shot. And that's the last thing we need when we're trying to elect an African-Americans president. You're God! How about if I just blow your brains out right now? That doesn't work for me. Work for you? Can you please? Hey. Alright. Alright. Gun. Need. Right foot. Left foot. Thank God for guns, huh, Jerry? That's not the way a mugging is supposed to work. Now, did you reckon- You can't run away. Now, this is on YouTube right now, and I'll tell you what's funnier than hell about it. We're going to play it again after the bottom of the hour for everybody who missed this. But what's cute about it is that was William Shatner in this latest series that he's been playing in. Boston Legal, okay, we don't watch it. I just stumbled across this, but whoever did this, and again, Ed's got it up on the screen there, congratulations. Whoever did that, they did a great job, because it's a perfect sound bite. Again, they're debating, well, after all, we're trying to bring a special person into Washington, so political correctness is what you should be thinking about. Yeah, yeah, yeah, right. And then, of course, the whole point is watch, wallet, Oh, gun. Me. Foot, foot. Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh. And by the way, the little shot they do when they go to, he doesn't just say foot. What's cute is you see they actually do a glimpse shot with the bullet striking the foot and taking a chunk out of it, okay? So, rather cute, but William Shatner of all people, remember these are people who are talking about, you know, the, you know, with the gun thing. Now, I understand this program haven't watched at all, is really sleazy through most of the program, usually with all kinds of politically correct stuff, and then all of a sudden there's like something that's a twist at the end of the movie, or end of the episode, and that's what this is from, by what I understand. So for anybody who wants to Know a little bit more, for those of you who may not be able to see our chat room screen, Ed, what's the address for that again? Go ahead and bring that to us over there if you would. Oh, I'm sorry, that's right, we can do that. I did that. You can go to our Liberty Tree radio page at YouTube. For more information, send a self-addressed stamp envelope to... we're back when background happy happy no i'm okay everything's fine we're all fine here how are you what your operating number Look, we're going to have company. Oh, wait a minute. This isn't Star Wars. Anyway, I'll tell you what, Weapons Wednesday. One of the other things here real quick, guys, is that there are gun shows this weekend coming up. We've recommended that when you can make them, if you are going to, I ask that you take along how to find us sheets, OK, no matter where you're going. There's a bank foreclosure in your area, and people are lined up at the door. Go there with how to find us sheets. If people are being evicted from their home or people are having a lineup for something because of what the Gooberman's doing right now or the Banksters, go there with how to find us sheets. If somebody's having a little protest, well, go in there real quick, hand them out, and then get away because you don't know who might throw a rock and decide to be the next real rioter. So just get in there, hand out the how to find us sheets, and get on down the road, OK? It's that simple, but anywhere where people are collecting, hand out the information to get people connected with what's going on. This is critical right now. There are too many people out there that are asking questions and don't know where to go. And we don't want to lose anybody. We don't hear about anybody introverting or extroverting either. Introverting as you hear about them committing super-coo because they're all alone. or going a little off and taking out a couple of the bad guys but wasting resources that otherwise would be major to supporting the fight. Instead we need to be focused helping to organize each other working together coordinating towards a common final goal which is kick the slats off the new world order click. and there are a lot of people plugged in. Get used to the idea that, well, 9 out of 10 down the street, they've already admitted this, are looking at the bad guys, well, with different colored glasses now, and they're not rosy. So, Darrell, one of the things, you know, we were talking about shotguns here, best shotgun that you've had to deal with for the price. What do we got out there right now that pretty much is user-friendly that you've operated, what you've worked with as a gunsmith? Well, the two I found for the money were the Maverick 88 and the Mossberg 500. They were probably one of the least... What do you want to call that phrase I wanted to use? Well, they're not troublesome. Yeah, it's called CRS. I can't remember how to believe. Anyway, they're maintenance free. They're not a heavy maintenance weapon. The worst one that I found, and I know people quench when I want to mention a brand name, the worst one I found was the Winchester model 1300 and 1200 with that side spring ejector that they had in there. Which we were just talking about. On the one hand, they seem to handle the Aguila's okay, the short shells by reports, but the 1200 and 1300 have a little different design. The 1300, now, but what I remember of the 1300 is that they tried to go with other stampings and tried to bring down the cost by bringing down the machining points. So that's the significant difference between the next generation, the 1300 series, correct? Correct. Now, I found out a lot with almost any weapon when they switched over from the mill parts to sheet tin stamp parts, they would all have problems. They had that with the lever action 3030. I know it's getting off the trail here a little bit, but Winchester had a bunch of the lever action 3030s in their 94 that they put out there for a while that had that stamp follower. After a period of time, a couple of jamming and it would be bent. Again, this was an ongoing problem where they did modifications to try and cheap out on the design. Probably the best example is most people, and this isn't the line of what I was asking about, is maintenance in general. Universal carbines. When you say universal carbine, everybody goes, ehhh. But universal originally was made with military parts, and what they did, just as you're talking about, they were trying to come up with a solution, so they did a whole family re-engineering of the weapon. and what was stamped wherever they could. Heavy stampings, but still stampings nonetheless. And they had a lot of problems with that design. Now even today the universals are not going cheap. I mean that's the problem. Anything and everything in a carbine is doubled, tripled, and quadrupled in price. But where they went to stampings, that's why when you hear people, when they talk about a universal carbine, a lot of guys that are experienced and have been around for quite a few years ago, eh, had a lot of problems with that. The advantage is older in many cases typically is better. They were going with machine steps with all the components they were using off the shelf tooling guys. They didn't cut corners wherever possible. The logic was maintain quality and standards. Plus they had to go with the equipment that they already paid for. Remember you've got planers, mills, and lathes that are on site. You're going to get your money out of them. So the process did not change. Plus they had the skilled trade to match up with the machinery. And that made a big difference. But then progressively as the labor pool has thinned out and the skilled trades have progressively been disappearing, they thought they could switch over to other components. And this is true in fusion casting with minimal machining stampings in many cases, which are not as strong. And the newest weapons are not necessarily strong designs. So older is better in almost every case as long as you maintain it. and understand where there are issues where there may need to be greater maintenance. In general, with any weapon there should be more maintenance than typically is taught. And also spare parts. Firing pin, extractor and ejector wherever possible in all main springs. Now, one cool thing about the 500, a lot of barrels out there aren't there for the Mosberg. Oh yeah, everything from what they call a riot barrel to extra full choke. and everything in between. Now the most important thing here is there's no reason to cut a barrel in a Mosberg. You can just go out and buy what you want, right? So now that doesn't mean, I will say this, guys, you come to a yard sale, guy's got a couple, one barrel blown out, but it's, you know, it's a bird barrel, something about 24 inches, 28 inches, and you're sitting there going, hmm, he wants $5 for it. Well, pick it up. Take it home and dress the barrel out so that it's cleaned up just beyond where the damage is. Don't cut it down to 16 inches. Do not, do not, do not, do not. You notice I said that several times? Don't cut it down. Leave it at a combat length of about 20 inches. That's about a good medium length for pretty much all the work you're going to do, right, Darrell? That's right. If you have a gunsmith in the area, one thing I would suggest with any barrel, which helps your shot pattern. to him and have him ring the forcing cone. That will cut down on the damage to the BBs as they go down through the forcing cone and then go into the similar part of the barrel and then back into the choke as they come out. They get flat spots on them and then those flat spots have a tendency to want to make the BBs to fly off, up, down, right, leave holes in your pattern. So if you want to concentrate your shot on your target, get the forcing cone ring. Exactly. Now here again, this is a simple process for a man who's experienced. And again, what we're doing is keeping the BBs, keeping the shot pattern consistent and into the target area a little tighter. What's happening is that's a scimitarring that takes place. You get a flat surface, you make contact with something, and we'll actually create a distortion in the BB rather than seeing a round or somewhat round piece of shot. What's going to happen is it's going to create an aerodynamic foil. It's going to create something that's going to spin it off in an odd direction we don't want. And we want to avoid that if at all possible. Now there are other techniques. Now by the way, one of the things that a lot of old cop shops used to teach for anti-personnel or riot control, if you had a 12 gauge and you wanted to reach a target farther out, just the reverse is the case. Like with Double Op Buck, the idea was to shoot down and in front of the targets, the lead pellets would flatten out to Frisbee slash scimitar configuration. and then they run up into the knees or into the lower body areas of the target, say the crowd or the individual, and create more damage simply by the very nature of how they were reconfigured on impact with the cement. Now that is a different story from the weapon actually distorting the shot, again incidentally, and there are modifications that can take place. Now, Mossberg barrel is pretty much interchangeable with Mavericks, as I recall. The Maverick is simply the next step down, but still like a Chevy as opposed to an Oldsmobile in the Mossberg family, isn't it? Yeah, barrels are interchangeable and the trigger guards are not. They got just enough change in the trigger guard that the Maverick trigger guard doesn't fit the Mossberg. And the Mossberg is a two rail pump and the maverick it unless they've changed over the last couple of years used to be a one rail right, but What you can take a two rail? Mossberg pump and take the one rail off and use it in the maverick if you were to have to do that So in other words field expedience it works both ways Let's say that I needed to make that Mossberg work. I could actually be stripping parts off the maverick, right? Now the reason I bring this up is a lot of people don't think this, or they think, well you know, because I've heard comments, well it's not a very good gun, I'd leave it. The basic rule when you are recovering anything off the battlefields, every firearm gets picked up. Shot, bent, busted, broken, whatever. It goes back into the inventory because anything that can be scavenged off will be used to keep other weapons operational. Just because it's cheaper doesn't mean it isn't useful in some way. We're gonna go to break again here bottom of the hour It's the second hour of the Intel report weapons Wednesday. We will be back in about three minutes here on Liberty tree radio I got a P226 with a Ram line magazine, both 19 rounds, one in the chain. I got an HK and P9, with some fishing around the end. I got a full 45 double position. How about a M59, 45 micronate launch? I got a Remington 1700 with a Starlight and some extra scope. How about a 38 special, a unit unit, two and a ten-mile round. You can even shoot a hollow point out of that. A George 9mm, how about a Smith & Wesson 686, 357 mag? How about a Smith & Wesson 44 mag? How about a movie red, hard 44 mag with a Sky & N Stope on top? I'm going to get from one of the Model Cougar 22 and 22-step engine 9 Special, 9 38, and Dessie, and how about a gas power of 307 mags, how about a Colt, AR-15, and AK-47, or I could give you an AK-47 with 100-pound drum mags, how about a Chinese AK-47, how about a Colt, and 357, how about a 454 with a Redhawk, how about a Smith, and a Wansy 44 mag, and auto slide like dirty hair using a Southern impact, how about a Loretta 9-2 Lass, Ladies and gentlemen, we are back. This is the Intel report. You got Mark here and we have... Darryl. There we go right the other end and Real quick here again remember parts pieces and assemblies you see something laying around it's broken But it's laying there and it's long as not you know you check if you think it's questionable for booby traps people come on common sense On the battlefield if it's something that is just laying there We know we've got to take certain precautions, but if you're scavenging and what is a present kill zone or an area where you have Secured a site and there's material and equipment that's with your people that's been damaged, broken, whatever, all of it is recovered and put back into the inventory. One way or another it's going to be stripped down for parts. Remember, parts from one, parts from another, the receiver from a third, guess what? You've got yourself another firearm. And again, weapons check, systems check, and the weapon can be reissued again or put in reserve as needed so that you've got a greater inventory to draw from. This is critical. Now, also again understanding that being an armorer, some people are just going to be pressed into service doing this. So it'd be a good idea to build up your library right now while you can. Darrell, as a matter of fact, you got some gun shows coming up out your direction, don't you? Yeah, this weekend, October 25th and 26th, in Greenville, PA, at the Knights of Columbus Banquet Hall on 170 Clarksville Street, south of Greenville off of Route 18. And then there's another show coming up a weekend after that. Let's see, the next one that I have is November the 20th and 21st. Well, a little farther out than a couple weeks. I mean, yeah, December the 20th and 21st. Okay, and that's going to be where? That one will be at the Harbor Creek Fire Department social hall of 7275 Buffalo Road, U.S. Creek 20 up in Harbor Creek, Pennsylvania. That's about 40 miles, 30 to 40 miles north of Mainville, PA. So, for anybody, and of course that's a general, that's a public meeting, everybody can come in, gun show, how many tables for that one? To be 110 tables, in fact I will probably be at that one too. And what are the dates again, what time do they open up the doors? Okay. The one this week in October 25th and 26th in Greenville, they open at 9am to 4pm on Saturday and 9am to 3pm on Sunday. And the one for Harbor Creek is
