And let's see, it is, nope, hold on here, I got something coming in guys, even as we start the program. All right.
It is a beautiful Friday. It's been rolling. It's been a roller coaster temperature wise. As low as about 74. And as high as about 84-85. But it really didn't hold. But for a minute, it's interesting. We have two thermal layers passing over. Of course, that makes for good tornado weather too. So beware, because we've actually had that around the country. But right now...
80 degrees, nice breeze, mostly cloudy, looks like it wants to rain. It has rained in spots even here where we are, in fact it's in squall or showers, take a break, whatever term you want to use. If you're on the ocean, they call them squalls. But the plants are perking up. It's not enough to really do as much as it should, but any moisture you get is good moisture and the plants just, they pop right up.
Same with our tomatoes in the garden that are outside already. They're cranking up big time. In fact, we've started to get flowers and plants are gonna, they become gigantic, gigantosaurus. So I'm happy with our food production. Now, it is Weapons Wednesday, or forgive me, Weapons Wednesday. It's Sanco D. Amel Day. A reminder that the sales this weekend are going to be pretty cool, so you might want to check out, for instance, Sportsman's Guide. They've had discounts on surplus. They do have, oh, they, I shouldn't probably say, see anything, but if you guys are looking for some decent OD green headgear, the headwear, they have a Mil-Tec
Ranger hat, patrol hat, and the quantity price is pretty decent. It's in clutches. It's over at the clearance side, by the way. So don't know how much they got left. Don't know how many of what size, but they do have big sizes. So you've got big, medium, and small. Go take a look at the sizing. You'll see what I'm talking about, but it is over at Sportsman's Guide. About comes to about $3 in patrol cap, which is not bad for a coffee can OD green patrol cap. Remember we talked about friend faux identifiers?
The other thing is a lot of the units that are listening use OD green for everything anyway. That's their standard patterns. Everything else is an add-on. You know, we switch to a camouflage blouse and go that route, kind of like the old paratrooper or Rhodesian operations where you had the SAS type or military type battle blouse smock. That's how we're treating our upper gear now because camouflage pants.
Our stupid price to the point where nah. However, jackets, you can find some really good buys on really great patterned jackets. So what we've done is got OD Green core and add the jacket that's the best pattern for the environment and go that way with everybody in the same kit that way. But these OD Green patrol caps over at Sportsman's Guide are a good buy.
Take a look at them, see if it floats your boat, makes sense, and you'll carry on. I had a bunch of other items over there, too numerous to mention. There's always something in clearance, and then they have kind of like a super clearance towards the back end of the liftings. It's for the end of. And there's some web gear back there you might want to take a look at, including those Chinese field suspenders that are there. If they're still there, they were a great steel price. They were a cheap price.
They're in the allus type material in terms of being the nylon and the way the padding is set up, but they're H-type suspenders, which is really cool. So you might want to go see if there's any left. If there are, that's a way for you to put more equipment in your 510 or outfit more of your unit the same way you're already equipped. Not everybody does, Molly, for a reason. It's okay.
Let's see other things real quick also. Oh, and yes, that's this I'm gonna answer something here on the air Okay, I see that we had a problem with picking up folding chairs at one of the big meetings over at In my building number four building number four you guys go ahead you got permission to do this. I have a hundred and fifty plus Steel chairs go grab them Mr.. B. Will know what to do. He's got the keys
and when you get over there, you probably need more. Sounds like you need about 300 chairs for the troops that are showing up. Take the 150 there and he might know where we've got another trailer loaded up with steel chairs. These aren't the cheapy plastic ones they're making now. These are real steel case folding chairs. They can handle weight. People are big, okay, and people aren't getting smaller. So again, building number four, talk to Mr. B.
There's at least 150, but I've been adding to that collection with certain steel chairs. So it may be, you might be just under 100. I really have lost count, but I know you have at least 150 over there. So guys, go pick them up, get them over to the meetup for the weekend, and if I can let you know about more, I do know I have another clutch sitting in another third location. There's about 70 steel chairs.
So you have my permission and everybody's going to hear that, including Mr. B, because he's listening right now. So go pick up the steel chairs. Building number four, talk to Mr. B. You know what I'm talking about. There we go. That gets it out faster than if I tried to get on the phone or get whatever. So next. And I know that won't be enough chairs, but it's a start. Good start.
And by the way, I was even thinking about going out and buying some more from another discount, another resale site where somebody has a ton of them and they'd love to have us buy them. So we may still do that tomorrow morning. We'll see what happens. And then we'll send them on with you guys and then we'll probably see you Saturday night or Sunday in midday. Anyway, a couple things. If you've been watching the Durham report before the Congress,
with what's going on, rather fun to watch, but again, just basically we told you so, it's not a surprise, there's anything that's a shock except that the, what's really fascinating of the turd communists who are desperately just repeating and pumping the party line ad nauseam, which tells you just exactly how far off into the twilight zone these Cretans are.
And all it's going to do is bury them because everybody can see the writing on the wall. Today I went to three different locations where the first question I had because they saw something I was wearing is where can I, you know, do you know somebody locally who's organized? Because I have a neat t-shirt I'm wearing right now which has to do with the 40th Brigade, Michigan militia at large.
And they're like, I've been trying to get the rest of my friends, everybody's organizing. So the first thing I do is explain you can personally organize. You don't have to go join something else. And fortunately I have a little packet that I give out to everybody right now. Well, I gave three different packets out today. Each one was to a different group. What was really funny is running into some people in one of the grocery store meat markets and they were all, one person brought three, four, five, six, seven people together just talking about something.
how to organize. And interestingly enough, two or three of the people there actually knew each other. And before they left, I gave out three packets for six people at that location, how to organize, where to find stuff, what to do, here's what you need, and let me know if you need more, and I don't wanna know what you're doing otherwise, but follow these instructions.
Guys, you have to have material ready to just give away. I mean hand out, so it's like if you walk away, whatever you just said is going to be reinforced top to bottom. I think what's really helped is the arrogance, the attempted distraction is rather comical. Has everybody noticed, for instance, about distractions? Number one, we were talking about the submarine. They knew a couple days ago those people were dead.
They wanted everybody to do the Jaja Gabor-Slapsicopoli bloody, so of course you have, oh my god, submarine, focus on that, out in the middle of the ocean, means absolutely nothing. Poor people, five of them, but oh well.
But look at the center of the universe you need everybody needs no we don't there's other stuff going on and those poor people who live or dead here We'll find out when that happens We'll focus and then we'll just you'll see a prayer and on with on with work because there's too many other things that are a threat to this country Right now another thing that's disappeared if you notice the UFO garbage is starting to pump out then it just kind of died
Oh, latest expos... Oh, more... who pissed on the UFOs? You know what? Like I said, I carry two different flavors of barbecue sauce. One of them is the mesquite, because we know that space alien, at least the gray ones, have a dark, oily, sea-gullish kind of aftertaste of the meat. But remember, if they can eat us, we can eat them.
So you want the Mesquite BBQ for the greys and whatever else just hang out to that. I'm standard hickory smoke I think for everything. Just to be safe. And don't forget a little extra salt and pepper because it'll go a long way just to changing the flavor too. Space Alien, hey, they can be eaten just like anything else.
But otherwise, since I'm not all that worried about that idea, and if it is, well, we fight them the same way we do anything else. And we got a lot of space-age technology weapons in our inventory that most people don't have for the militia here. Everybody needs to be creative. You just never know what we might have. I always love it when you fire a laser and then, you know, a cutting laser, a real good laser. How it cracks.
when it stops, when you stop using it. You know why? It's burning the air. Okay, consuming air is what it's doing. It's cutting its way through the air, but also eating air. And what happens when you turn it off, it creates this little vacuum so you get this hypersonic crack. That's why I was fascinated, did a really good job in the original Terminator. If you watch the future battle scenes, you hear, beep, beep, beep.
What's that? That's the appropriate for the pulse, you know, or again, thermalized weapons of that type, that kind of energy. They're burning through the atmosphere and then you have that hypersonic crack as the air fills those little tiny voids. Trust me. And the bigger the bore, oh, the more impressive that crack is. Trust me. I've always joked we have one very big heavy hot laser that's our muzzle loading cannon laser.
What what do you mean by that? Well, we really can't chase things around with it It's it's something I got from the research group at the University of Michigan years ago We've preserved that we took it will it will cut things at six seven yards six seven years six seven hundred yards It was a program was a research laser that was used for probably weapon and communication But it's it's not a leveling stone that's made out of granite. Okay
We took the whole thing and left it just the way it is. Now, if you aim it at something, whatever you aim it at, it will hurt it. It will hurt it. But, you know, again, tracking something. Now, if you know what the weight of the package is, it's like, yeah, I guess you can make something to do that. But we kind of look at it more like a directional muzzle loading laser. It's like, whatever you point in that area, point in that area, and then you might adjust a little. Other than that, once it's been used, you probably fire and forget, because something's coming in to visit it. Boom. But in the first round, oh, man.
Wow, what was that? There's something burning down there. What did you hit? Pretty cool. So anyway, again, face plasma rifle, 40 watt range, Uzi, 9mm copy, spas throw shotgun. Hey buddy, guess what you see on the shelf when we ain't getting the... We only got the 20 watt pulse rifles, right Bob? Yes, we only have the 20... Wait a minute, what are you doing here? What do you mean what am I doing here?
Yeah, remember all those counter time Schwarzenegger movies one after another for Terminator? Why wouldn't the Terminator like go to the shop where the terminator is going to show up and already be arming himself to kill the other Terminator because there's a good Terminator and a bad Terminator? Oh, that's bad messes with your head. Said he has the fight up there in the middle of nowhere at the observatory. Yeah. Fisticuffs happens for that without having to do the fisticuffs.
So anyway, the big thing here again is the yap from the Democrats is in all the garbage with the betrayals that are going on. The idiot sticks and the brain dead we're not worried about, but everybody that is a thinking human sees a writing on the wall is not being fooled by what they have planned. They think they have planned and they were all going to catch on to this. And so be ready. You need to make up packets with how to organize and they can't kiss. Keep it simple, stupid. Start out with the 510 program.
but also explain the idea of the fire team and the squad, why it is the fire team and the squad. If you are by yourself and you build a five-man fire team, you could integrate with another five-man fire team no matter how they've trained and work. And if you built a squad, two five-man fire teams, those squads can be integrated. You don't have to retrain that unit. You leave it the way it is for now, bring the groups together, work as a straw boss if there's some kind of management system that you hopefully will eventually organize.
Initially, you have sufficient engineered and slash regimented force that you can focus it. You can tweak SOP later. The basics are more important than anything. And remember, you don't need a machine gun.
You don't need a silencer, no sawed off shotguns, okay, does everybody understand that? And don't worry about explosives, do not worry about explosives, focus on the basics. Have you got a lot of extra training? Well now, if you do have a lot of extra training, you're still gonna have to work at integrating as a team, and you still should be focusing on to ensure that everybody's brought up to a certain level with regard to the basics. Now then, if you feel you have the money to spend on buying paper silencers or whatever, fine.
or you are going to buy class-free weapons, fine, whatever, but you don't really need them. In fact, harvest from your enemy. Your enemy is nothing but a mobile resupply pod. Everything they're carrying, we paid for, we're going to get it back. Mark, can I have the conversation, please? Go ahead, jump in there, please. Yeah, when you started the show, you was talking about different things available and getting people outfitted.
Since this is a Quartermaster Friday, there's a couple things that I've ran across in the last couple days that I'd like to share with everyone. The first two items are at SportsmansGuide.com. That's SportsmansGuide.com. SportsmansGuide has a U.S. military surplus butt-packs. They're brand new. They're a package of three for $18. $20 if you're not a member.
Now this is US military surplus. They're only available in black, but they're new. But see, anything that's made is US military surplus has to be very compliant. And the truth is you couldn't make those for six bucks apiece. I've made probably close to 50 butt packs.
And, you know, when materials were cheaper five, six years ago, yeah, you might make them for five bucks using material out of Hong Kong, but you can't make it for that. The second item that I found, it's also a U.S. military surplus item. It is a JFAC pouch. That's a first aid pouch. It does come with some contents, but it's a U.S. military surplus JFAC pouch.
They're selling them for 2069 if you're a member. They're $22.99 if you're not a member. But the thing is about this pouch, now you're limited to one camo color, and it is a camo color. But this is the 7x7.25x8x3 military first aid pouch, and it is a clamshell style.
This is the bigger pouch. The standard military ISAC pouch for the individual soldier was normally like 7x5x3. Well, this is 7.25x8x3. Now, this does come with contents for the $20.69, but Sportsman's Guide has this at a decent enough price.
That and it's also the bigger pouch so you can add to it. What you gonna say something marker? Well, no, go ahead. Please. This is these are both good deals right here. Everybody should be taken advantage of today Yeah, this is actually a very very good deal because you were originally talking about people when you started show building something for a 510 program These two items here even though they may not be in a color or a pattern that you want that the price is Really good, but this is the bigger pouch so
You can take this pouch here and you can put a suture set in it. You could put an Israeli compress band either is on it. And if you go on, like I said, to sportsmansguide.com and you need to type in U.S. Military Surplus JFAC First Aid Pouch. It will come up. But this is the bigger pouch. It has contents. It has some medical supplies in it. But it's $20.69.
The other thing from Sportsmen's Guide, I'll repeat that real quick. It is the US Military Surplus Butt Packs. These are new. Three US Military Surplus Butt Packs. If you are a member, they're $17.99. If you're not a member, they're $19.99. Now, again, that's US Military Surplus, so that means it's very compliant. You can't buy that. This is not a Roscoe knockoff, not a Chinese Hong Kong knockoff. This is the real thing.
Now the next thing I've got that I would like to share is from ShopMedVet.com Now you remember a few years ago when ShopMedVet.com was basically giving away IV sets? Well, they're doing that again. Yes. This time they have some IV sets as low as 13 cents a piece. These are new in the package.
But because their past expiration date, they're selling them as just training aids. Now the 13 sent ones are the Series C, which is a filtered IV. Now that is not what's normally used for all applications, but this type of filtered IV set
is what you would give someone if you had to say give them medication and low constant levels of medication for things like pain control or like cancer treatments or something or you had to do something very specific for pain control. You know years ago the people used to go to these compounding pharmacies and get IVs of like vitamin C.
These types of IV sets are designed to filter out bacteria or any items or particles in either a medication or an IV that may deem detrimental. But they have those for 13 cents apiece. Now they have two basic filter sets or two filters available. One is the 0.22 micron which is extremely small.
And the other one is, it's either the 1.2 or the 1.5 micron. And I'm sorry, I forgot which one that is. But they are available for $0.13 a piece at ShopMedVet.com. The best way to do is you go to their website, ShopMedVet.com, type in IV sets, and go down through there and see what they have.
Now, they have standard ID sets of various types, both vented and unvented, and filtered and unfiltered, available. Now, they're 13 cents, 25 cents, 50 cents.
These if anybody's listening and you're concerned about this because these are you know, basically outdated packages Okay, they've lowered their price for their standard IV sets down to a dollar fifty. So if you wanted a brand new IV set That's got a good date on it. That's you know guaranteed sterile because it's in the package Which is where you need to leave it unless you're going to use it with the hundred inch hose tin drop
or 10 milliliter drop system. They've got that for $1.50. If somebody's wanting to purchase a large quantity of either one of these, they do have like the ones for $1.50, you can buy 50 of them for $72. So I mean, the truth is, you can even get lower in price. But to have an IV set that's a filtered IV for 13 cents that's new in a package,
And just because the expiration date has expired, I don't know what you can do. Mark, even the little clip on the IV for the adjust the drip, that's worth 13 cents. Hell yes. Real quick on this, go ahead. Look, exactly what you said. Let's just add a little to this formula. Like I just said, if you're paranoid, I'm not. I'm going to buy a pile of these again. Every time this happens,
I'm your biggest competitor guys because it goes right into the bulk medical support containers. And I've got two other barrels not full. They still, this won't fill them because these are smaller items. But everything medical goes in there. I just got a bunch of leg braces, foot braces, all kinds of orthopedic support. It's going to go into one of the barrels to start it out. Everything gets prepackaged and wrapped.
Now, you go buy a package, a dozen of those brand new ones for a dollar something.
You then go over to the classroom material and you buy another dollar's worth at least of whatever matches or is close. Why? Because I also need training aids. Why am I going to bust open an outdated one that you're worried about because it's brand new, it still has a good date. I'm going to take them by the training aid models exactly as they're describing.
And that's the one you break open so you can teach every person in your team how to use the tool in the toolbox. Well see Mark, you made an excellent point here because they have some of the standard IVs and the difference is in the length of the hose. And I think they've got a standard IV like a 10 drop per minute type IV with a 94 inch hose for like 25 cents.
Well, there's nothing wrong with that. It's brand new and the package is just the expiration date. So, you know, the thing of it is, Mark, a guy could really go crazy here and buy a hundred of these and what's he going to have in it? $13. They've got over a thousand of them. So, I mean, you know, so I mean, the guy could, you know, a guy could be cautious and want by 50. Somebody's going to find something to do with this. But it wouldn't cost hardly any money.
Well, the big one here again is remember if all else fails, these are also remember clear plastic lines. How many things can you do with them? Well, pneumatic controls for instance, or somebody that's working with fluid movement other than blood. But my attitude on this, I think about this. Okay, Bob, got a bad one. I need an IV. Wait, before you go any farther. What's the date on that IV?
Well, I don't know. Your guts are hanging out. You're lost about a half gallon of blood. I don't think I'm asking Bob whether or not it's going to be okay for me because right now loss of blood, lack of breathing, and a lot of other problems are probably going to kill me faster than worrying about the date on the IV fixture, right? Well, I thought it was correct.
I understand why you're qualifying correctly because some people are going to do that. But okay, if that is the case, guys, you can. It shot med bets, 88 your fears, and buy the other stuff. And it's still not bad. I mean, still a reasonable price, very reasonable price. But here you go. Go ahead. Go ahead. Okay. Okay. Okay. All right. What it is, now these don't come with the needle. Okay.
Now if you live in a state other than the idiot state of Illinois, you can probably buy the needle for it. What it is Mark, when you go to the front page on ShopMedVet.com, of course there's a page that scrolls through. They've got what's called up to 70% off clearance price. And there's other things available too if you go through the 70% off clearance price. Like they have some IVs.
You know for the needles for these IVs they got a whole bunch I mean you buy a hundred needles for like five dollars and ninety-five cents or something like that and You know these are the needles that you could use for IVs or other things You know health nothing else for that price you make grease needles out of them But if but you have to live in a state that allows you to have that stuff But when I found this today at my first thought was thinking of you because I remember several years ago
You know, we were talking about this and I brought this to the attention of the audience. And I know that you bought a bunch of them and others bought a bunch of them because I was watching the numbers go down every day because I kept checking it. But yeah, IV sets as low as 13 cents a piece. But if you go type in to ShopMedVet.com, you type in IV sets, it brings up everything available. Now, some of that stuff is high-end, high-dollar stuff. It doesn't make any sense.
But if you keep going through there, you'll keep finding the discontinued items and the items they want to get rid of. And 13 cents, 25 cents, 50 cents, or $1.50. And I don't know how you're going to beat that. Because here's the funny part. A couple years ago, the standard IV set was like $2.18. It dropped down to $1.87.
And now they got them where you can buy the good dates and guaranteed sterile, all of that. Well, they're $1.50 each. But to buy them for that price, that's the old price if you bought like 100 of them. So I mean, they did lower the price a little bit. But the point of it is, for 13 cents a piece, hell, people.
Plus they got other things there. I mean they've got some of the clothing It's not a real big deal, but I mean I don't know where you can buy a shirt for a medical smock for $2.95. Oh another thing when you if you go to the 70% off area They make a tourniquet
It's not the one-handed, you know, tourniquet. It's the kind of tourniquet where you slip over and it's like a big piece of elastic and you kind of pull it and it's got a little clip that locks it in place. Right, yeah. Yeah, okay, they got them for 99 cents. That's a surgical clip. That's what they use, you know, for trum...if you're gonna do amputation, that's a field amputation clamp is basically what it's used for with anybody in the field. If you had something that was dangling...
If you can apply that type of stint, that type of stay,
then you sever the rest of the material. What I'm talking about is sometimes guys it's not pleasant but you got maybe a bit of flesh or part of a muscle holding something out. Now some cases they would argue not to disconnect that but if it's shredded or sheared the issue is you know is the patient can't you know if the patient may never go down never pass out and they there you've got to figure the psychological issues there's much other considerations with that but
That type of clamp for also field amputation in a forward area medical unit is something that would be useful. Well, they're 99 cents a piece. Yeah. Yeah, 99 cents a piece. I don't know how. Now, the red, I mean, that's the only drawback, I guess, is maybe the color, but they're 99 cents. It is a type of tourniquet. It's 99 cents.
When I looked earlier today, it was on the front page of the 70% discount section. But Mark, that's what I have. Like I said, to be honest with you, the stuff at Sportsman's Guide, those two items, to me they stand out because I know what it costs to make that stuff. Those are both bargains, especially that Fanny Pack. And truthfully, I don't care if it is black.
It's the kind of fanny pack that's got the handle on it so you can make like a carry bag on it. But you can't make that for six bucks. Especially when it's a new... Go ahead. You know what the other reason for that carry handle was?
That's a grab your ass. I'm not joking about this. Okay guys, if you had a guy that was stuffed into something, folded into something, you grab the upper suspension gear on the old style H harness, remember look at that, it was like a handle. You grab that, you grab that fanny pack and you drag the person out or move them around that way. You don't try to wrestle with anything else. The gear is hooked up to the troop.
So, unless his guts are, you know, chopped in two, when you grab by the fanny pack handle like that, or you grab if you can grip right in behind the, obviously the fanny pack, the butt pack into the, the pistol belt itself. But the fanny pack hole's handle was designed, that thing is built like a brick doghouse originally, the cheap ones, like you said, it's iffy. But you grab that, you grab the suspender or the Y on the Alice, and you drag his ass that way.
In fact, if you don't beat, depending on how big or small the casualty is, and if you're highly motivated, I've seen guys throw people with those. Just literally like a bag of potatoes, just like over there. Okay, now you mentioned Alice. Okay, these are Alice attachments, and according to the pictures, they come with the Alice clips. What helped by today's stuff works, those Alice clips are worth a dollar, I mean, or 50 cents a piece, because there's two of them. So, you know, that's basically marked.
When you look at what you're getting there, okay, you buy three if you're a member of the club, it's $17.99 if you're not a member of the club, it's $19.99 you can't make that stuff not especially with what it's made out of That's a stupid bargain. And yeah, it's laugh Go ahead. Well, it's either a the the Alice era type of Polyester come on. What is that?
It's a nylon what this is made out of. Right, nylon. Forgive me, nylon. Or it's going to be Cordura, one or the other. And if it's older, if it's newer, might be Cordura. If it's older, it's going to be the standard nylon weave, allus configuration. Either way, the stuff held up well enough.
And it's got to be US, if I contract it, when you're talking about being very specific production, one good thing that has happened here in the last several years, and this is probably, this is built during that window, is they've required that the thread, the material, and most everything, if it's a US contract, has to in some way, shape, or form be attached to the United States. It might be in the territories, but it has to be built in the United States, and it has to be made in the United States.
Absolutely. The materials have all materials. That's the thread, the binding tape, the materials, the buckles, the webbing, must all be made in the United States. But it also must meet certain military spec style standards.
So like the weed count has to be a certain, yeah, it has to be everything a certain way. So, I mean, yeah, you can buy something out of South Korea. Maybe it looks similar. It isn't going to be similar. But, Helen, Rothko was selling Sandy packs three years ago for $28 a piece. Okay? And, guys, you can buy almost by two sets of these for what one Rothko would buy, would cost you.
And this, oh by the way, this first aid, this US military surplus J-FAC pouch, that's MOLLE compatible. That is a MOLLE pouch. That is a US military MOLLE pouch, and it's the big one. That's the one that, it's almost as big as the, and it's the clamshell style. That's almost as big as the first aid kit that you have for like a squad kit, for a squad kit for a first aid.
So I mean, that's the pouch. Put it this way. The last pouches that I bought for medical pouches that were the clamshell style, I ended up paying over $10 a piece. I made a hell of a deal. I had to buy in volume. I think I bought six or eight of them.
And they were made in China and they were clearly Chinese knockoffs. They had lighter thread, they were polyester material, where these are nylon. Were they total junk what I bought out of China? No. But I can guarantee you that this stupid first aid pouch is probably worth 14 bucks by itself. And then you turn around and get contents on top of that.
And the contents, is it as good as a true iFAC pouch? Well, it does, okay, it does lack a few things. It needs some blood stopper, needs an Israeli compress bandage, and it probably needs a couple of 5x9 combi pads. Okay, here's the thing. The few items I just mentioned, well, when you go to Shop Med Vet today, or whenever, this weekend, and if you decide to look at some of them IV sets or some of the things that they've got on clearance, hey, guess what?
You can pick up the little things that you need to stick in that first aid kit. JFAC pouch from Sportsman's Guide and you'll be all set. Because a good iFAC pouch is going to cost, I mean an iFAC pouch ready to go. A decent one with Bloodstopper is going to cost you over $40. And here you can get the pouch and most of the contents for $20 right now from Sportsman's Guide. That's why I'm bringing it to your attention mark.

They do pop up and they're even popping up still in DOD surplus with the Iron Planet, but they're even there. Look at the price. Go look at the price for those packs, what they want for them.

was fanny packs. My wife just thought I was nuts because I picked such a hard thing to make. Well, it took me a few packs to get my stuff situated around, but my patterns and stuff cut. But Mark, at that time there was no surplus military packs available. There were some knockoffs out of China. There were some South Korean Roscoe stuff, but I could actually make a pouch
similar to the M56 design with all of the extra straps and everything to it for about $6, $6.50 a piece depending on all the kind of materials that I could find. And to be able to buy three brand new U.S. military surplus backpacks for $3 for basically $18, then you can't buy the material for that.
Because, like I said, they're very compliant. The material has to meet certain standards. The thread must meet a certain standard. The web gear or the webbing or the binding tape must meet a certain standard. Even the stupid eyelets and grommets in this bag must meet certain standards. So, you know, the buy-in for this price is just, I mean, silly. But, like I said, this is what I have today. Now, Mark, since there's so many people doing things, I'd like to make a suggestion.
You know, I think we're so close to things falling apart in this country. You know, I would like to make a suggestion where people do things like make hard pack or like a ship's biscuits, which is a form of hard pack. You know, if we could get a million people to go out and just buy a bag of flour and make ship's biscuits for a week. You know, that would be five million pounds
of food that we could put back. And it would be basically a low-key effort. But, you know, when I look at history for all the different military, you know, who lost, who won, the people that were able to maintain, repair, or replace their equipment. And their equipment is anything from guns to ammunition to web gear to medical supplies. The people that had the ability to maintain, repair, or replace their stuff
are the ones that survived. They're the winners. The ones that couldn't do those three things are the losers. And you know, to me, I don't want to be in a situation where we're, you know, having to practice, you know, North Korean military doctrine where you give someone a uniform with no underwear and a pair of boots with no socks. And as soon as you stick the uniform on, you got to go run and jump in a lake because after all the guys that wore it before, you didn't have underwear.
So I mean, we don't want to be in that situation. So we know that in this country we are limited on our manufacturing capability. So we either have to have a massive supply chain, or we have to have the ability to repair and make some of the things that we can do. Well, making ships biscuits, which is a form of hard tack, that's just the cheap way to add to the food source without spending a lot of money and making a lot of, you know, spending a lot of time.
Same thing with web gear. Now like these three are a couple of web gear items here. That's cheap You cannot make a fanny pack for the money that these fanny packs are selling for. The truth is when you consider the cost of this first aid pouch To buy the contents and to make that pouch it's going to be hard to do to do it for the $20.69 that they have it for because
If it's a US military ISAC pouch that's the clamshell pipe that's got the zipper that goes all the way around, that zipper is even a higher quality than what's coming out of China or South Korea. But sooner or later, we're going to have to start making things and repairing things.
But right now, this is a chance to pick up a couple of items to put on the shelf that gives us a deeper supply chain when everything does break down. And quite frankly, I don't think it's a matter of if, it's just a matter of when things break down. So that's what I do have, Mark. If you want any questions or anything, sir, go ahead. Well, on top of that, right now, for instance, we just did this again today ordering parts.
The guy was talking to automatically figured I gotta have that on the shelf. So he went and looked on the shelf. Well he didn't. So then his logic was, oh I'll just go ahead and order from the main warehouse. And first level McWherhouse had nothing. They were out of stock. He realized that while he was talking to me. So he said, oh let me check again. So he checked, he looked again at the inventory. He had the closest location
for the parts that we needed was in Florida. For the whole of the parts inventory, the company he's connected with. And it's a major name brand item on top of everything else. We're not talking like some, you know, it's Chau Chu Ho Ba Ng Ngai Company. No, no, no, we're talking a major recognizable American, well, not American, but, you know, recognizable business that most people would jump at buying the product from.
And so it was like, wow. And even he was surprised because he was thinking, so I had to explain to him, you know, we've had this happen now with windshields. We bought the last windshield for a Suburban that would fit a Suburban or Silverado.
for 2001 to 2005 in the area here, remember, several months ago. I would have bought that there was one that had a scratch, not a break, but just a scratch on the front. The person rejected it, kind of grabbed it in a heartbeat, but somebody else had already picked it up in another part of the country as soon as they found out it was available. So the supply chain is that badly broken in general, and it's not getting better. And the thing is that that's not an accident. This is planned.
I don't care. Oh absolutely. For cars. Well, another thing he just brought up, he said, yeah, let me give you another example. He goes, you're working on cylinder heads, right? For a vehicle, certain vehicle, not an old vehicle. They just told him that if he waits and doesn't look for a used part, the backlog is in theory to 2028 he wants.
Did you say 2028? 2028, yeah, he said, yeah, let me tell you something I couldn't believe. He goes, I'm not gonna wait. Okay, this is your 2023. He goes, I'm not gonna wait five years for the part. He goes, that's insane. He goes, one way or another, I gotta find a solution. Things not gonna be sitting around, I'm not gonna, I was sitting around waiting for something to happen. But the fact of the matter is that that is exactly how they're acting out there.
I don't believe they believe it's ever going to get there. In other words, you've got a backlog based upon the sources that you have that are from GM and the source that's a GM producer, actually probably a sidebar production company that's working for GM, out of Mexico or wherever.
They flat out said that to order a factory part, here's how long it's going to take, because based on the present production, the backlog is five years. Now, let me tell you something. We got a factory down the road here that does front ends for General Motors and Chrysler and Ford. They do for all three. Do you know how many parts per shift sometimes they put out? How many vehicles do you think they have? Well, I think thousands. Yeah, no eight. A-Ope.
In fact, one night they did, by what my one son was explaining, he goes, yeah, one night they did, what was it, they did 28, thought it was a good night, 28 complete front end sets. This is the front suspension assembly, guys, where your, you know, your tie rod ends are connected and everything. And here's the thing about this, that some nights they're producing nothing. Why? Well, they went completely to robotics. This company was taken over by the Italians.
The Italian Americans are not running any Italians on it and nobody understands the amount of material support needed to keep the robotics running. And so nobody wants to spend the money on it. We've talked about this before as far as remembering, the razor is the blades. And so what's going on is Chrysler, in fact, even sent a whole batch that they sent over back because they weren't done to spec.
You know like they rejected so wait a minute. This is not some used parts company like forgive me old inventory company where they're building you know spare for 19 you know 2006 Silverado No, we're talking brand new production going down the road And this is one of two or three producers for all three of the big three Well, you know the quality control has gotten so bad
I had to buy a sediment bowl for a tractor fuel tank and the ones I've always used, I always went like with NAPA or some name brand or TISCO or somebody, it was more of a name brand. And they used to always be made out of a pot metal, you know, a die cast metal. Well, the last one I got, it come in, the threads were boogered up on it, they wouldn't work, but it was made out of cast aluminum.
And you know what happens when you screw cast aluminum into something that twists off? Well, that's exactly what it did. And, uh, but this, no, they're making, the stuff that's out there that is in the supply chain is crap. And you have to be so careful anymore because it's crap. But if you've got a company up there making eight sets of front end parts a day and that's a shift and that's the most they can do, they're not going to be in business much longer.
Well, the thing is that the company is, here's what gets me, is that the company receiving the goods is continuing to put up with because my belief is that they don't have anybody to turn to, which means I'd be willing to bet the reason you can't get aftermarket parts is because they have probably even turned to the aftermarket producers to crank out existing production line material.
Possibly. I asked. Very possibly. Because yeah, you have nowhere to go and at least you have production experience with the companies that are still running no matter where they are, but they're all in a downward cascade and the big hiccup was what happened with the Coronavir virus scan. And it's an undercurrent thing. They are absolutely, there's two things, they know how to stay amongst themselves, but they also have got Lansing under an absolute microscope.
The SRT is being monitored and observed by elements of both parties right now the governor's office The the sycophants that are in the Congress that are certain characters who now it's known we're cooperating with the Chinese They're just bought and paid for or hoarse by the Chinese Interestingly enough there are in-state Michigan banking mechanisms that have now started to talk to Because they have all of the elements of where the money's going
They're actually in cooperation on this now. So this is getting to the point where this is a significant political civil war and it is not bloodless in terms of this is going to be a very vicious administrative action that is going to bleed out into the public no matter what. Their CEO has been going out on public events to hear the public, but not apologizing about what he's been doing, but basically trying to win back the win back. They've lost 25% of their revenue. In fact, I'm probably doing a bad job describing it. There's a couple of news articles out there. I posted a video on YouTube. We'll just play that. I know it's not that long.

All right, so let's get out of the gate with this because Mark Cuban is still saying, kind of doubling down here, that going woke is good for business. Whereas if we look at a company like Bud Light, it clearly wasn't. And do you think the CEO going on a listening tour right now is going to help turn this ship around? I don't think that's going to work.
He is going to get an earful, there's no question about it. And the problem with that tour and that idea is it keeps it as a front line press item. And so this is unprecedented in the beer industry. Beer brands take decades to build and usually you're fighting to one to two percent share per year by spending hundreds of millions of dollars of advertising. This has never happened before. No beer brand has ever lost 25 percent market share in a matter of hours.
It's so unprecedented that there is no playbook for this. So, you know, I'm sure after whacking all the marketing people who were thoughtless on bringing this idea forward, never thought, who do they sell beer to? Beer is a commodity. The only difference is brand. And so you really have to protect your brand every way you can and understand your consumer and read the room. I mean, obviously, you can have any kind of discussion about gender neutrality or social mores and all of that.
regardless of your politics. But if you don't understand is buying your brand and you enrage them, which seems to be what happened here, you don't know the outcome and now we can measure it. 25% market share. This is so extraordinary that I'm planning to teach it this fall in the colleges that I visit and guest lecture at. I've never seen a brand case like this one.
Kevin, I want to get your take on this as well. Maybe something you can teach about as well. Employees are getting fired for standing up to shoplifters. It's something we're seeing more and more of. The latest example, the 75-year-old woman fired by Circle K for defending herself from an armed shoplifter. Here's what she had to say in response. Listen. I was upset because I had put a lot of years with this company. I worked hard for them. If they needed me,
If somebody called in, I was always there for them. I did just about everything in that store to keep the need and clean for the customers. Kevin, you're a business owner. She was trying to do her job, protect the company that she worked for. Should she have been fired?
Obviously, this is another social media nightmare for this company. No one even talked about Circle K until this story broke. You know, there's something happening here and boardrooms across America and all the S&P 500 companies and all the Mid Cap companies are waking up to the fact that they don't control message. Social media controls message. And so if you don't monitor what your policies are or who your managers are or what you do in your stores or your services,
and customers are unhappy, they go to social media. And when it goes viral, it's extremely damaging. And here we are talking about this particular company. Do I think firing a 75 year old woman is a good idea? Does anybody think that's a good idea? That's sheer stupidity. And now whoever did that is going to have the focus of their management on top of them thinking, why didn't you think about this? Why not just think as a normal human being of firing a 75 year old?
is a good idea, it's a dumb idea and now that company is probably going to suffer in terms of sales, market cap, whatever you want to measure because people are really outraged at things like this and this is an incredible time in America, you've got this automatic feedback mechanism and you have to learn how to manage it. Social media is incredibly powerful.
and you can watch it happen and go to work every day. The most damage is done on negative stories like this and now with this new trend they don't go away. They just keep cycling. Bud Light is the gift that just keeps on giving. It's extraordinary. Kevin, I want to go to another story that I've been following. It was called Boomers are Hooked on Stocks, about two-thirds of adults over the age of 65.

I think we're probably trying to keep up with inflation and recover from the horrible impacts that zero and negative interest rate policy had on savers. But if we're thinking about more principal protection, should we start to be thinking about maybe getting rid of our addiction to equities and looking at bonds too?
Excellent question. And you know, over time, there's always been some fundamentals in investing. First of all, trend. I love the idea of young people getting involved in savings and investing. And this is important. Financial literacy is what we're so weak at in America. We teach kids everything, sex education, geography, you name it. We don't talk about debt and don't talk about the future and how they have to protect themselves for when they're 65. So that's good. Now, the classic portfolio, and this came from
A woman, my mother, who taught me when I was 15 some basics, she said, son, go 60% in equities, 40 in fixed income, no more than 5% in any one stock, and never more than 20% in any one sector. Back in her day, there were 10 sectors in the S&P. We added real estate, that was 11. I can't believe
how powerful that information was. I've built companies around that information. I look up at the sky and thank her for it. It's such a simple idea. It's diversification. So a little fixed income now that you get more than 5% on bonds is great, even treasuries. But with stocks, people let themselves get too concentrated. Never more than 5%. If a stock moves past 5% of your portfolio, sell it down like a Tesla or an Apple or whatever it is you're in love with.

Interestingly enough, I think a lot a lot a lot of people have been hoping for something like this from corporate America They just haven't been exposed to it. And so we had a tremendously positive response We obviously got a little bit of the negative response. I don't even want to give it value We have to deal with some stupidity, but if you know it is what it is the the overwhelming response was incredibly positive from honestly from both sides of the Political aisle which is nice because there was a lot of people on the left who were like I'm just so tired of hearing this over and over and over
Now, you've done similar campaigns in the past. Tell me why you think it's important to do this and why the overwhelming majority of corporates lean left in their marketing and their politics. It's just bizarre to me because obviously half the country doesn't think that way, but when you look at the corporate world, it's almost like they all lean to the left.
Yeah, I think they're driven especially nowadays by the ESG scores and you see a tremendous amount of pressure on them to have to Fit these standards or they won't get investments from groups like BlackRock or Vanguard So I think there's a lot of investment firms behind driving the culture unfortunately, and you see it's every industry has been taken over It's it's media. It's Hollywood. It's corporation. So until people start fighting back I think so many of us are just hyper agreeable. You don't want to deal with the consequences and That's kind of what's allowed it to escalate
Absolutely, I think the media plays a massive part in why the corporates behave the way they do. Now, why did you decide to speak about the issue of women being erased in particular? Because there's a lot of work nonsense you could focus on in all sorts of areas, but in that particular ad you really did focus on, you call it the war on women.

So, let's see, other things real quick here in the state. Also, a reminder, of course we have the lakes, everybody should know that. We have five great lakes. We got four that we make contact with. The fifth one is downstream, that's Ontario. Used to be, and I don't know what anybody wants, I don't know, kids are motivated, they probably got too much prozac going on right now. What we used to do is, back in the age of muscle cars,
is do what we call the Five Lakes Tour. You know, hit all five lakes in one day. What do you mean hit? No, we don't drive into them. What we do is actually get out to Ontario. It's not hard to do. You get right to the edge of Ontario. And the idea is to swim in Lake Ontario, jump in your cars, everybody goes down the road.
Pick a spot, Lake Erie, closest spot where you are, everybody gets out, jumps in, you swim in Lake Erie. Then you jump back in your vehicles, you drive across the state and up on an angle to Lake Michigan. Then you cut across to Lake Huron and then over the bridge to Lake Superior. Do it in a day. Now remember, if you get, now here's a little cheater trick here.
You could do this quite easily if you head towards the top of the state. Make your best time through the middle. Now some people of course even qualify. No, you got to swim in Lake Huron over by the Thumb and you got to swim in Lake Michigan in the middle of the state. Then you got to go up and make it up to the UP, up to Lake Superior and you know, pick a designation there. But you could actually, if you get to the top of the state, good time.
You can run over to Lake Michigan, officially, and then run over to Lake Huron, officially, and they're relatively close. There's a point where they do come together, but you don't cheat that much. Then you jump across the bridge and rip off your clothes, running towards the beach in your swimsuit, and just as the sun sets, you throw your head into the water, hit that rock you couldn't see below the surface, and then you end up going to the hospital. Oh darn, no, that's not how it's supposed to end. Now you're getting the water, it's freezing, because Lake Superior is always cold.
And you did it! Yay! All five lakes in one day. And it is fun. It's a lot of fun. Even more fun. I mean, come on. He's more comfortable than ever. His roads are nicer. The cars are more comfortable in general. I will say that. Don't listen to his appearance on Olds Building. You're driving in your living room and it was really fun.
But something to think about, it's a good summer trip. Any kind of livestock or farm and fleet facility, tractor supplies have needles in stock. So if you know what the spec size is for what you're doing, it's not difficult to get what you need. You may not get the ultra tiny needles that are part of certain aspects of the inventory that you want to put in place, but pretty well most of it. So take them and check out those resources.
Go to your local feed mill, farm and fleet, tractor supply, etc, etc, etc. Look to see what they have on the shelf. That'll round out the difference. So that is over at ShopMedVet.com. One of the things that I've been working on is just a little sidebar. I'm looking at another big pile of them right here is going through all of the illumination technology, all of the lighting technology that we have for spots and utility flashlights to hand out. I never pass up a flashlight. If I see a flashlight, it's free or somebody's getting rid of it, I grab it. If it's sitting around, it's being tossed.
For this reason I have a whole bunch of rail back flashlights. I have a ton of Dewalt. I don't know what it is because every one of these runs I have gotten a bunch, in fact hold on here I'm going to reach over and grab this one. This is rather interesting and I don't know why. This is a Fat Max and interestingly enough it is a self-contained rechargeable light. It's bulky by comparison to nowadays it can get a lot smaller but it is an ultra bright LED, cube LED.
And it's the Stanley X and DeWalt has another name, but it's the same basic unit. It's literally when you open up the guts, it's probably maybe the same company. They may have a subcontractor, they're all agreed on certain co-production. But all the controls are in the same place, the basic form is the same place. I haven't had a chance to compare all these lights because they haven't run into them, but I'm running into the DeWalt's a lot.
and I'm running into the Stanley's a lot to the point where I actually can hand these things out to quite a few people. They charge up quick. They are good for quite a few uses at night. I have not burned one. I want to say burn one out. I mean, tired the batteries out completely, but I haven't spent all night with them. But again, for a close to intermediate range spot,

They're beautiful They have of course supports you can use them as a work light a couple legs on the top that you fold them out You can hear that probably here's that truck. Keep an eye out for these things. I have found a few at yard sales. One today I got for a dollar and it was almost like brand new in the box. nut in the base, a fixture in the base so that you could actually hook it up to a tripod or whatever kind of stand you have. A lot of things have quarter 20 male screw bases available so you can affix things to different things. And that would be very useful with these. But I'm not going to worry about it. I don't want to get into them. But illumination, especially because we also have to deal with emergency search and rescue. We have to deal with supply and support issues and moving material. We've got to be able to see.
And everybody having the ability to do so, but while understanding light discipline makes a significant difference across the board that we all need to take into consideration here. So just a reminder, if you see it and slide around, the rail back lights are mostly the double D, double the two D cell battery, double D cell.
But both conventional traditional light bulb and some with LED I grabbed they're all the same model It's just they have a different front fixture that you can replace a switch from LED to regular light Those are great. They're Simple straightforward, but the rail back model which has got some nice armored ribbing on the outside in many cases is actually rubber dipped are again a freebie
I can stack them, rack them. I've already got diesel batteries piled up underneath them. And if I need to hand them out, we've got a whole kit where I can just grab the whole tote bag box. It's actually a, I don't know, I think it was a CD kind of carrier, but the doesn't have the slip tenet, so there was another insert, but it's perfect because it's actually a hard shell on the inside. And so I just stacked everything up in there, subdivided all of the batteries, etc.

You mentioned that it's really tough getting in BDU pants right now and I get a feeling that the thing that we should maybe think about doing is getting away from
the multicam for a while because everybody wants multicam. I remember about 10 years ago, my unit went to that and that was the hot new thing and it's an awesome camouflage pattern and it blends in no matter where you're at. I mean it really is the best out there. The thing is everybody in the entire world recognized that all at once.
And whether it's Canada, America, Britain, Ukraine, even the Taliban, because we left so much behind in Afghanistan, the Taliban is wearing multicam. So, and I think even the Russians are wearing it now. So, if you want a friendly fire incident, then yeah, go ahead and wear that multicam. But it seems to me it'd be more practical for-
where the, like get some Vicky's or Carhartt OD Green pants, I think they call it Hunter Green or Forest Green, whatever, but after a few washes, it's OD Green. And where ChemiClage blouse,
The British DPM is awesome, awesome pattern and nobody's using it right now. The British and the Dutch used to use it. They no longer do. So you're not going to be confused for anybody else there. You know, the old school tricolor woodland is fine. The French version of that's great. And the German Flectarn is another one. Awesome pattern being used by any military that I'm aware of.
and it's out there and it's pretty cheap. So that's probably what we should think about doing if you're in the woodland area, green area, then OD green pants, and then if you're obviously in the desert, there's some brown ones. But especially the car hard, that tough fabric that'll last forever, that's what you want. And if you think about it, either you're gonna be in the
Out in the wilderness and you got vegetation that comes up waist-high anyway, you know, in which case you don't really necessarily need a camouflage pattern on your lower half. Or you're going to be in an urban area where looking like a tree doesn't really help you anyway. So, take a bow. Well, that's exactly why again, like we were talking about there, OD grain base uniform.
I'm wearing a pair of those Dickies right now. Actually, the pair I'm wearing are the pair that they were $4 a pair from Botash. And they are a heavy grade. They're like, you know, again, like a green gene instead of a blue gene as far as density. And I'm not talking bone washed or any nonsense like that. These are actually full thickness pants.
And I have beaten the living snot out of them, and I haven't killed them yet, and I try. In other words, I make an effort. I really get into stuff intentionally. It's like trying the boots on the same way. One of the things to remember is that most of the countries you mentioned, and let's go right down the list, the British went with more of a parka-length coat.
And so did the Germans. And the Dutch, of course, had both, because both actually have like a M65 coat also. But if you look at the old paratrooper smocks, the Brits, the Germans, and the French had a variation too after the war. Each one of them, basically down just like you said, to the middle of the thighs, how far they reach. And the idea is that they went over your regular uniform.
So you could drop the camouflage. And one of the reasons the camouflage traditionally has been expensive. And you know what? It's getting expensive again. And you know what really gets me about that? It shouldn't be. I don't know what the, I mean, certainly it's charged that the market will bear. But, because that's always the case with all businesses. But I think part of this is the quality in America has gone down to
I've done the toilet for most of the stuff that's done. If we're lucky, they maintain some kind of standard because they're forced to. But the big thing here, again, is that they should be cheaper. Print loom tech like that is standard industry. Look at all the other materials you have that are all print standard. You'll find that camouflage is multiple times more expensive than its conventional clothing counterpart in a print.
And so that should tell you something right there because there ain't nothing that special about the idea of building the camouflage. The thing is that with many different coats, using them as assault smocks, like we're talking about, is it's very easy to change out from seasonal or area colors. So if you have an OD green base and you carry an earth brown range roll up light duty coat or overcoat slash read that smock,
and then have another one in the darker or richer green or lusher greens, pretty much you cover most of the terrain you're gonna have to move across. And so you can roll one up, cinch it down, turnister strap it to your equipment, and in the process, you know, the one to spare and work with what you're supposed to under the conditions you're facing. So if you're looking at being totally mobile and being in a minuteman scenario, it's really not a bad idea.
Multi-cam is getting cheap, cheap anywhere. Go ahead. Yeah, another really good European pattern is the Italian Vegetato. I bought one of those, take a look at it and the Vegetato pattern is awesome. Great pattern, it's right in there. I put it right in there with plectron. You know what's funny? Yeah, absolutely.
I was going to say I have a pile of it sitting right next to me within four feet. I've been sorting out the, I've got a squad of vegetado per barrel. And remember for a little while there, the vests were available when those uniforms that were really cheap. Remember the uniform, you got the hat, the shirt and the pants? You get a hat with every set no matter what. So the cool thing is, is that you've got, I've got, for a five man fireteam, I've got 10 uniforms.
five vests, underpants, t-shirts, socks, etc. And I even have helmet covers because there was one of the paintball companies, remember, oh, not Hascuaverna, no, not Hascuaverna, Haciampa. I think it's Haciampa. So we ought to see if they're still in business. Haciampa carries almost every
or was carrying almost every existing real camouflage item that was military that was out there and they carry every type of camel they can. It was Haciampa. I know it's a weird name. If we look at it, it's probably tribal or whatever. It could be or it just, it was a play on words with a video game, who knows. Haciampa, they would do uniforms and camouflage.
and they had a deal on helmet covers one time and I actually bought the helmet covers way before we bought these uniforms that are sitting here. The other thing, sitting in another pile real quick, I mentioned this before, you may have an Ollie's, may not, because they aren't around that many places, but any place that is a distressed clothing or a distressed merchandise store, kind of like a big lot used to be,
Ollie's is one of those and they're all over the country. They have just gotten in their women's real tree timber brush pants for seven dollars a pair. Now women's cut doesn't mean anything anymore. They don't do a cut, they aren't cut like these species. It's women's. It's got a little bit of pink with a real tree symbol on it in pink. That's it. Otherwise there is no way to tell the difference between the men's cut and the boy and the girls cut and the kids cut.
So, for $7 a pair, now these are, in fact, hold on, arms reach almost here, hold on, because I had to get away from the workstation. Anyway, here we go. Let me read this off for you, because you may find these in your area if you've got a resale store. Real tree extra, side elastic waistband, cargo pockets, draw cord legs open, and these are ladies, and this one is an extra, extra large. I bought everything out from the store that was
extra large or extra extra large first because that's always the stuff that disappears and you can always put stuff under these. Anyway, 59% cotton, 41% polyester, which is not bad. That's almost a 50-50 cotton polyester, been standard older style BDO uniform. But the only pink is, oh, I can't even find it on this one. I'm holding them in my hands right now, guys.
and I can't find the pink. How do you like that? This one has none. Okay, you can slap me in the microphone. Some of them do, but apparently a lot of them don't. I'm looking at it right here. But for the price, for $6.99, this is the cheapest camouflage anywhere. If you can run into these at any resale stores, if they have 100 pair at one Ollie's, they probably have 100 at the other, if not more,
and they have a wide range of sizes. Now there's another pant that is a brush pattern real tree and that is $6 a pair. But that's the only thing that they have and it's the only place I found anything like this, nobody's coming anywhere near this price. Now maybe there's something about them we don't know, so that's why you get the extra, extra large, because if they shrink and they weren't supposed to shrink, maybe they're supposed to be pretty shrunk.
But let's say they aren't. I don't care because I can always issue these out to another person. Oh, see how that works? Go ahead, jump in there. Well, I was just slapping you in the microphone. Yeah. Sometimes I hate it. It was a good reaction, but I got to you. I'll jump in there.
There's two colors I would not want to be caught wearing if when things kick off in case of friendly fire incidences. One is black because we know that's the black black anarchist, black lives matter, Antifa, and then of course the police.
Okay, then the other the other color is multi cam because of that's the new NATO military Color then it's also every SWAT team in America right now. They're not wearing black. They're wearing multi cam the other thing is is uh Actually the the the antifa types move they're wearing multi cam too Don't they they'll do stupid things like wear a red necker chip with it, but they're wearing multi cam so
I think it's something to have, but I don't think that's something that we should go to as a first choice. Right. Well, I agree. Actually, well, there's one reason I've avoided it is simply, number one is, like you said, because of popularity. It's also the most expensive. And it doesn't cost any more to make multi-scam than it does to make, say, Tiger Stripe or Woodland or any of them, for that matter. Now, there's, well, actually, what's the closest? The Digitals. The Digitals are multi-layered color.
And that's the thing about multicam, it's multi-layer color with overlapping, you know, basically like soft spots, so it creates different shades. And you can get that with pretty much any of these other patterns that are out there. And again, friend-foe, because like you said, there's certain pieces of equipment, you know, and uniforms out there just don't exist anymore.
And if you're careful and you husband them and corner them and corral them, then you have the ability to put a lot of people in the field in the same configuration, which is really good for friend-foe recognition. And right now, OD Green, that's the other pile that's sitting here, because these are all being barreled up, is what they're being.
But the, for instance, every chance when I go to the wholesaler, which where we get the goodies that we always use for the drawing, they usually have tail ends of and they usually have a deal. So the one thing there's always OD green there. So every time there's an OD green batch there, I buy them out. It goes over in the pile. I just sorted one out here. I've got a backpack.
medical bag, canteen covers, web gear, everything that's all brand new OD and then I just got a pistol, pistol hanger the other day. Pie. Because it was the last of. I got the last one. I always got by the tail end Charlies and it makes the individuals there happy because we cleared off their shelf and they don't have to worry about that one last stupid item. And I'm happy because they got more goodies for a real good price.
So we need to be paying attention there. The one thing again, if we look at the ACU is dyeing the ACU. You can use walnut, you could be using Rit dyes, and if you go to YouTube, there's a dozen, oh there's more than that now, there's probably a hundred different videos on dyeing ACU. Now, if you like tiger stripe and the ABU tiger stripe is actually a little more random,
Then the the American defined tiger stripe you can make a really nice combination of kit if you go into the used ABU inventory This ABU is out there now We're not saying you can use ABU and ACU in certain spots and like you said now that one's pretty well peeling out We know that's been that was one they put down But there was such a massive quantity of it that literally we could feed off it for decades

There's a ton in fact, I'm fascinated You know what Carl they seem to be dumping the the Marine Corps is dumping the coyote brown out in forests including this more recent molly kit that they came up with in fact, they've got what they call the Warrior bundle that the government made you have a an actual tote bag That's big like a big like almost like a like it's bigger than a duffel bag
But in it, they have all the web gear, the vest, everything top to bottom, every stinking pouch, all of the support gear, the backpack, the kidney pad or a raster pad that goes around your waist, etc., etc. So guys, if you want to see some stuff you may not have seen before, you want to keep an eye on Iron Planet for that reason. And most of that stuff is in Coyote Brown.
It's one of those things where it's another color option. Go ahead. So they're dumping the coyote brown because we're guaranteed to never again ever fight in the desert ever again in history. Yeah. How do we know that the desert is still going to be colored that color? How will we know? Well, on top of that what gets me about this is, I will say this, the coyote brown
is a more as universal as OD green for being able to move through an area. You know, brown is not a bad color. Now tan, a little harder to sell, but you know, but you can make tan work when it has multi colors like the three color desert, you can get that to work. And especially in the winter because like I said, throw the snow camel over the three color desert. And if you go out there and look, you never see pure white. If it's pure white, you're in the wrong place probably.
because you have underlying tan grass and you know, coyote brown and all that. And you still have green out there somewhere. But the coyote brown, if all else fails, you know, you break out the paintbrush or you break out the paintbrush in the Rit dye and you can make a very unique camo pattern using that earth brown as the base color. And that's actually a very friendly color to adapt other shades to.
So, you see, that would make sense. That's something there's a ton of it. If you notice, another neat thing is you can get it, make it so that it would integrate nicely with, for instance, the real tree camos. You could actually splotch it out enough and, you know, what you do basically is kind of like the paintbrush pattern with the DPM, but with a little more frill here and there, and it actually, I would think, worked quite well.
The big thing is cost. Nothing's, well as we can all see anything new is not cheap. Clothing is ridiculous. In fact, guys, we're paying twice what we were paying, if not almost three times what we were paying for wholesale. We're paying three, four times that, if not more, for the over-the-counter. Well, actually, what we used to pay for
A complete set wholesale now costs three times as much, four times as much in the retail market. Twice as much, if not three times as much in the wholesale market. The markup is not as great. Well, the markup has gone crazy because of that. You know, you got a $50 pair of pants. How did it become a $50 pair of pants? The evaluation of the currency. That was a $15 pair of pants.
So look at the insanity just with that. And the wholesale price used to be around $6, $7 a pair for a brand new 50-50 cotton polyester, military cut, ready to roll, maybe surplus or else in a one of the aftermarket companies. But pants are insane. And the reason is because everybody, you know, first of all, they're closer to the ground. Remember the basic rule of why if we're going to be producing things, somebody, if you're going to build things, clothing, you build more pants.
The closer it is to the ground, the more it gets torn up. Always remember that. That's where your knees hit. That's where you're passing through all that bramble. Your clothes are getting torn. They're going to get snagged, gagged, cut by stuff. They're just going to wear out because you're going to grind them out. Whenever you put your knee down, you're grinding soil into that cloth. And that's wearing the material. It moves. It permeates the material with the micro soil.
And in addition to that, the material itself is like liquid sandpaper, the soil that you're grinding your knee into. Doesn't seem like much, but take a look at your blue jeans. They give you a good tell on where, don't they? And look at how they wear. Most of your pants, military pants, are not built as well as an actually good pair of blue jeans. Or like these, you know, these Dickies we were just talking about, like I'm wearing. They're not built, most uniforms are not built as well as these.
The other thing that I have noticed is that there are a wider range of earth shades right now in the Dickey pants. They're not just in a single series of like one, two, or three colors. There are five shades of this pant that I have on right now that were there when I bought the match-up pair to these. There were at least five. In other words, if I'd said, well, gray-green, somebody could have pulled three other colors off the shelf, and I wouldn't have known until I got it.
And now seeing it, this is, the pan I have is really not so much an OD. It's more like a German panzer gray green. Not all the panzers were painted the same color. There was quite a, there was what they were calling, they called theater colors. And specific colors were there because as always, the soil base is different. That's what determines your foundation colors with camouflage is the soil base.
This is why I've said many times. Go ahead jump in there. Well, so my philosophy on 510 is I'm not worried about outfitting the the lower half of the guy, you know, yeah, I figured 90% of the kind of people who are going to come to us are gonna be you know, the working class, you know guys
who don't mind getting their hands dirty and they're going to already have work boots and they're going to already have work pants that they can wear. And that's like what we're talking about, the Car Harts, Dickies and all that. And so they have to work that so much. Even if they showed up with blue jeans on, you know what, that is tougher than your average BDU pants, honestly.
And you toss on a camouflage top and you send them on their way. But it reminds me of during the war for independence, the hunting shirt concept. And the British were like, hey, that's not fair. They're wearing things that, they're shirts that make them blend right in with the trees.
And on our side, we didn't worry about putting a bright shiny uniform on the guy. Let him wear his hunting shirt, which was essentially camouflage for the day. Not only that, but you know the fringe that's on the clothing? There's a combination of what you were doing. So of course, it was unique. But you know, that was to kind of brush the bugs away.
You know, like a mare's tail, that's why the clothes are built the way that they were. Also it frets and defocuses the silhouette. So when you think about it, no matter how you move your arm, gravity sucks. And the frill on the jacket, for instance,
the long tapers, the long tails, will hang based upon gravity, not upon your arm being straight out and it being perpendicular. So the neat thing is that the whole idea of that hunting shirt was that it broke up the silhouette to make it less defined. Both because critters weren't stupid, you know, animals figured out humans are predators. But also because it did work well in a combat situation for the exact same reason.
And the colors included, remember chestnut, hickory, and any number of other, well, butternut, because you always hear butternut, but what does it mean by butternut? That's a butternut-colored jacket. Well, it's because they were using the husks from the butternut, and they would boil them, just like we're talking about with the hickory nut husk, and then they would soak them in the boiled matter.
the boiled material, of course it's just basically a soup. And then when they were done, pull them out and guess what? You had a color that pretty well matched the environment that they'd be moving through those wooded areas. Absolutely. We can build our own. We can build if we have to. That was the first thing I was taught before anything. We didn't have camouflage uniforms when I went into service. We had OD green and the first thing that everybody was taught is how do we make something else?
And traditionally it was paint. And in fact, a simple paintbrush and doing a paint stroke type pattern and splotch pattern with a sponge. Taking a natural odd shaped sponge and using that with whatever materials you had to create that, like the A-tax-tack kind of splotch. And it worked.
In fact, some people wondered about some of the stuff we have. Some of the videos you've seen are camouflage. We jokingly call the one, corki-flage, because Nancy came up with a pattern, put it on all of this unit, and in fact, Houtari was using it too, and they asked, well, wait a minute, that looks really good. What pattern is that? Well, that's corki-flage.
So guys, you know, if you collect, I've thought about this before, well let's plant this seed again, we've got a few minutes, a few moments. Guys, you go over to your Salvation Army ReStore, resale. They conveniently for your benefit sort all of their clothes by color. Have you ever noticed that? You have oranges and reds. Oh wait a minute, you also have a whole section of OD green.
And while they might put the pants in another area, you'll find all the OD green shirts and sweaters in one area. Some have some patterns on them. And then you go over and you look, there's all these pants. And every size you can think of, and they're all hanging there and they're OD green. At a given point, you might want to consider just having somebody with their credit card go in before, you know, as things develop and go, hey, everything from here to there.
Give me a deal on it. What would you give me if I... What would it cost me if I bought everything from here to there in these pants? Now you might want to consider doing the browns. If there's camouflage, fine, but there's usually not that much camouflage. And some Salvation Army, they tell their people to destroy the camouflage so that the peasant slash the militia doesn't get it. They've already had that passed on many times.
They probably sent it out as a memo. This every once in a while have to reinforce it and people forget so some of the stuff gets out there. But OD Green, you got three, four hundred pairs of OD Green pants. You got like you said, OD Green work shirts, OD Green utility shirts, any number of things. And then sweaters that match. Well, here's your base color. Go ahead.
Yeah, at the thrift stores like Goodwill and all Definitely check the black and the navy blue sections. You'll find some very interesting polo shirts especially with some interesting logos on them all kinds of law enforcement agencies security agencies and all kinds of cool stuff always look worse looks like CIA in our area here prison guards federal
How about even Homeland Sucky writing uniforms? Stenciled. Yeah. In fact, always check your church yard sales. Nice church ladies who put church yard sales together get all kinds of stuff from the family and whatever and they don't always think about it. And that's where I got a pile of stuff from. Certain places, like you said, absolutely.
And again, nobody thinks twice about it. The other thing though too is even somebody said polo shirt, oh, I want to need that. Hey, it's OD green clothing, it's short sleeve, it's got a collar. Well cut, typically good material. A lot of times it's any number of like, it can be Dickies like we were talking about, but it can be Lan Zand, it can be any number of different name brand companies. Navy, Old Navy, tons, I got tons of OD green Old Navy.
And in fact, that's another pile, that's the OD green stuff, like all goes together. So it's not difficult to build up a quick inventory and actually have multiple replacements, which guys, you want more than one uniform. In fact, there's a reason they call them fatigues, right? Oh, that's French, yeah, fatigueuse. Oh, I just joke about that. See, they don't get me a pair of them fatigueuse.
Where do you get them fatties from? I'm not showing the military how I get them fatty cues. That is one of the things where you're going to wear the stuff out. Not like that, but again, t-shirts are the same way. OD green t-shirts, camouflage t-shirts, black t-shirts, brown t-shirts, anything that's a subdued or dark color will work just fine to give you more short clothes or, you know, again, as we call it nowadays, under clothing. We used to call them short clothes or a short cloth.
And those were designed for comfort because of wear and tear in all your soft tissue areas. Doesn't mean you can't live without them, but it'd be nice to live with them for as long as we can. So the more we have, the longer we'll be a little more comfortable. Just ideas.
And last but not least also, watch the sock deals with yard sales. We had a yard sale here today. Everything was half off and they wanted to. The girl wanted to move everything. So I got a nice big, oh, it's a apple box full of men's socks. Most of them look like they're new, but I don't care because they've all been washed. And they're all gonna go into a barrel, or I should say, or get split up into the 5'10 barrels.
and somebody will have three or four pair of socks per person so that they are able to remain relatively comfortable and dry and clean, which is especially critical. Carl, anything else before we go? Because we're almost to the top. Carl might have taken up. Very good.

And somebody was asking again, I believe they may have gotten some, not much, but some of the 760 by 39 Yugoslavian and the stripper clips. It's easy to find it over in Atlantic in their ammunition section. If it's there, it's there. If not, they do have some other bundle loose ammo, 760 by 39 copper washed, kind of looks like either A,
some pickups from Poland or maybe Hungary because it's that copper wash but it looks clean like its steel case. Looks like it had a gray undertone but with a copper wash over. I've seen that a few times and you probably have too if you shot enough AK ammo but there is a bunch of that over there in hundred round and thousand round increments.
So you may want to go take a look at that. If you don't have the UGO, at least if you have to have some more 7.62x39 to round out your inventory, you can go that way. And again, ball ammo, ball ammo, and then more ball ammo. We are at the end of the hour.
