raindrops easily, any kind of debris in the atmosphere. Sometimes bats and birds can return this and so smoke particles may thin out and so that's why we start to see that thin out as well. So you can see how that green starts to evaporate a little bit. It's not disappearing. It just means it's thinning a bit and the radar is not seeing it as well. But we certainly when it first started it was nice and thick. We could certainly pick it up. As far as the winds, I have a port here. I can normally get a deer part
wind and a moment of there, but it's not showing up, which may be problematic because of what is going on in Deer Park right now. But you can see La Porte at nine miles an hour. And again, you saw how that little plume had gone from southwest to north, from southeast to northwest. And that's the reason why, I think, because of that little wind there in La Porte. South wind's out of hobby at eight miles an hour, six in spring. So not a lot, but there is some wind, but it is certainly this low.
South to North that has been keeping that plume off of 225 and moving generally toward the Channel View area. So that's what we've been watching as far as the wind. It's very hot. Keep that in mind. Temperatures have been at 90, 91, 92, 93. Pretty steady today. And if you look at the humidity, 55, 62, 55 percent, that high humidity is certainly a bit of a help, but not much. And we're going to continue to watch.
those dew point temperatures right there in the seventies feels like numbers fighting that fire 97 to 100 out there. All right. The news starts now at four. Um, I was just broadcasting the tail end of the breaking news of the refinery explosion in Deer Park, Texas. Uh, so there's a refinery explosion. Um,
the report sounds like it was near the power plant for the refinery. Again, that's Gear Part Texas. One city over from the port where my wife is from. And we're just watching the news and that came up. That was something everybody should be aware of. That's going to cause the gas prices to go up. So guys, might be a good idea to top off your tanks and fill up your gas cans.

and we're on satellite, we say how do all our merchant marine operators out there, some of you in the Gulf of Mexico probably seeing the fire that's erupting from one of the facilities down there on the coast. We're also a myriad of other communications technologies both inside and outside these United States and it is Friday, Cinco de Ambeau de Quartermaster Friday. It is the
5th of May, we're still in the May Day communist window and with all the stuff that we're seeing coming out of the pentagram and The district of criminals here in the last 24 hours I would say that they're getting twitchy to try and pull something possibly over the weekend. Maybe even today tonight still who knows? More on that in a second, but it is the 15th year
of open, obvious, and in-your-face, maybe of the socialist and Soviet socialist occupation of America with a K2023, old Earth calendar, 2023, Battle for the Republic, the Dance of Swords, and as I mentioned a moment ago, Ed brought this to our attention, down in Texas, in La Porte, Texas, on the coast, between 225 and... It's actually Deer Park, which is the next town over.
Right, it's the Deer Park area. There are a number of live feeds, live streams going on right now from the area. It is a refinery. They've got some pretty good aerial photography obviously. They've already got helicopters in the area too.
What they were just stating a moment ago is that it's the local refinery fire operations that are doing most of the firefighting. We're obviously pretty well prepared for something like this. You have to be. It's part of code. But I'm sure other departments will be responding or have already been responding even as this took place. The event began 3.54 p.m. Eastern Standard Time, 2.54 Central.
Again, as Ed pointed out, so the Deer Park area, possibly the Shell refinery. The discussion so far is if it's not the power plant or the generator and power regulation complex, it's very, very close to it. Interestingly enough, as we would expect, and we've talked about this before, the signature who actually noticed this almost immediately was the weatherman.
using the local radar, he was actually getting ready to do the weather report and realized he had a plume event which they demonstrated. They're using it as imagery, ongoing imagery, while they're covering what's going on. So to get a chance, you can pull into any of the different local news feeds. the city's got a lot of people out there. Um there is got footage from their helicopters Sky to a bunch of stills taken out that you can go. Check out the Y feed and hear what they're saying about it. So. Up there. We were playing a little bit of that before we brought the intelligence report up to show and I were already turned in and listening to it because her family's in the area.
Again, for everybody out there, this is a refinery issue. If it is the power complex, that can shut the system down, that particular refinery down for some time.
again, it is continuing to be fought. The footage is pretty good. I mean, again, they've got a lot. I want to point something out because I've seen a lot of comments about how it's terrible that you've got those two towers that are burning behind it. They're doing their job, guys. That's a burn off. Right now, they're burning everything off that they can before it gets anywhere. Hear that fire. Right? They're going to invest. That's a feature. Yeah.
Yeah, they're going to evacuate pull and remember, as we said, when you see the stacks, those are burning off some of the unrefined gases, but it's part of the pull process. You either are going to tank it or if it's maybe, there may be too high a sulfide or it has been, it has been processed, but doesn't reach spec.
There's any number of reasons they can do a burn off. When you go by refineries or in fields like we have here in north of Flint, Michigan, north of, say, Bay City or the Bay City area, if you drive up through the area at night, you'll see burn offs. And what that is is initial burn off of
methane or whatever else might be pulled and they're disposing of it so they don't have to worry about it being a handling issue down the line. And like I said, in this case, probably they're dumping everything they can to, you know, back off away from the epicenter of the event. There are plans for that. If you're running a refinery, you can't just be running the machinery. They already have
the entire plumbing system, like a nuclear reactor, with rerouting and backups to backups intentionally so that they can isolate any given area as quickly as possible for anything from maintenance to fire or other disasters where something has taken place. I mean, they're in a storm line on top of everything else. Think about that. That's the coast. The hurricanes have washed that area for as long as we've all been alive and beyond.
So they have to be prepared for control and dissolution of the facility. The problem in this case is not, it's a destructive operation, it's not just simply a precautionary. They're fighting a fire right now, so this will take a percentage of production down. How long? Now there are standards that are there saying that they are lucky that the explosion didn't react with the holding tanks that are just on the other side of the
the building. You can see it when you take a look at the pictures of the holding tanks are just on the other side of the building of most of the pictures that they've taken. It's really close, but the majority of the flame seems to be on the side towards the freeway, which is where the refinery is. Well, again, this is one of those things where as we have incidents like this, the question is intentional or accidental. Is it sabotage? Is it
responsive action. I mean, there's all kinds of things that are going on overseas. So pay attention because any number of different incidents like this can perhaps cascade. We'll see how they cover them. We'll see what they do. We can tell, I mean, it's early on in this situation. So they're basically just giving you what are obvious technical reports on the process involved, which is good. And they're also looking at the problem to
Okay, to give everybody an idea of what kind of a threat it is and again where it's possibly heading. One of the things that we've always reminded everybody, well again, if you're near a facility like that within close proximity, ask to the blast. You don't stick around to watch the fire. In major reservoirs or propane and any type of gas holding tanks are literally the equivalent to small nuclear devices if they go off.
So you do not want to be in the area of activity. The biggest problem is not so much the oil or gasoline storage. That's bad. But propane, while I've said many times it's the safest fuel to store, any of the higher gases or any of the propellant gases of this type, of that type, I should say, forgive me, because of the way that they build up pressure with heat and how they change in terms of their reactive potential,
large holding tank like that. Well, for instance in Pennsylvania they had five, six departments, I think it was seven total, and they lost five or six full fire departments because they were all on the refinery and they were all on the propane tanks because they knew they were the threat. And when it went off everybody was taken out with it.
The apparatus was destroyed, the men were killed, and only a small number of the personnel who were in the, even the ones who were in the periphery were critically injured because any close proximity to the shockwave, it's like a nuclear device. Very high speed. That's, remember, all explosions are velocity. And that type of energy is, it drops off quickly in an environment, but in a built-up area, it would be devastating.
They're on it right away. We'll find out more. We'll see more. Hmm. I just had a really big bird past the window here. Very close. The livestock in the game seemed to be rather excited about getting closer to the building, which I think is rather fascinating. In fact, it stopped a couple of the felines they have in the window and tracking whatever the heck it was. And I was moving fast enough I couldn't even make out what it was.

And I would recommend if they have any of the 9mm or .357 diameter bullet molds, round nose 9mm, semi-wad cutter, wad cutter, projectile, I recommend you buy them. If you don't have anything like that, you need at least something, especially since .357, any of the 9mm,
Does it make any result weight? The important thing is to have the die. Remember, if you have a larger die, you can pour short into the die and end up with a lighter bullet weight if you want to. Remember, if you've got more space, you can always use less space. But if you are using a smaller projectile mold,
Then that's where you're restricted. Okay, so and the other thing is three five seven nine millimeter with a bullet swaging tool You can make all of them work. Are they gonna be real exciting? Well, you know for instance using most of the 357 Magnum or a 38 special projectiles They're going to be a little different design, but they will feed mostly Okay, the big thing is you have something in the way of a die
of a mold for working with lead or with zinc. And I will remind you too that another thing, if you're gonna get into casting of any bullets, you need a bullet's wage, needless to say, you're gonna wanna make sure you've got another scale on hand, separate from your powder measure. Don't have one thing do everything, eat wrong. Commit a particular scale to dealing with your bullets,
with regard to the materials. If you can, go over to YouTube and look at copper plating lead or copper plating bullets utilizing off-the-shelf machinery. There are some really cool designs utilizing old Mr. Coffee machines. This is why I tell you, don't throw out or, as I've been doing, pick up
The Mr. Coffee machines with the crepes that people are getting rid of you know with the with the urns still there And if not get the machine and watch for the urns people are getting rid of them all the time You go to yard sales usually there'll be spares laying around that's laboratory glass people That's that's designed to take heat. It's been put in the coffee pot mode, okay? So there are some really interesting designs for plating
that are from all with off-the-shelf technology, you can make it more sophisticated or less sophisticated as you choose. But by copper washing, copper plating the lead projectiles, you're going to eliminate a percentage of the issue with regard to leading.
And you can push the velocity a little higher. No, it's not an FMJ. It's a copper wash bullet, but it will offer enough protection with the air friction at higher velocities that you can push a little more, you know, a few more feet per second than you normally would with a lead projectile only. And I would point out if you use zinc, which everybody goes, well, zinc gets kind of frangible, so I like that.
If you've ever seen what a zinc bullet does when it hits, it has a tendency to fracture because the crystalline structure is more brittle. The nature of the metal, it's more brittle. Well, this is good when it comes to hitting something and you wanting to tear up the target and in the process, leave things that they have to surgically remove. Plus you may just likely as not get a, you know, again, a kill in the process.
The big thing here again is zinc is useful as your friend. Any wheelways you collect of any kind, you want to grab them all. Any situation where you can run into any lead, I don't care if it's old solder rolls that somebody is getting rid of, I pick up every roll of solder and every bag of
electrical solder that I can find. First thing I'm looking at when I look at a resale shop is, like I told you before here, last couple days, perishables. And lead is high on the priority list. So just a heads up on that one. But again, Natchez shooting supply, and also don't forget that Palmetto State Armory, which it looks to me, I mean, I've been kind of watching their page change a bit because their business is changing a little bit.
They're getting into more significant and unique manufacturing, if you haven't noticed. But they've also shifted some of their inventory. However, they do have reloading supplies at Palmetto State Armory. So you do want to check just to see what they have. Now, another one that is a catch as catch can is Atlantic. And while it doesn't have quite the selection, they do have some reloading items from time to time.
and mostly in bulk and not so much the tools to build something so much as sometimes quantities of projectiles. Not loaded cartridge cases, just projectiles, but you have to go through their odds and ends. There are many other companies dealing in bullets and you can go right to the companies that make them. If you have any of the factories nearby,
They may still be offering bulk bullet buckets. I haven't talked about this in a while. A lot of guys were taking advantage of this going to Spear, you know, go to Hornady, and what they would do is you go back to the warehouse there, they have an access point, and they have discards from where they're running the machinery and they just dump the catcher baskets into a general five-gallon pail.
It's every kind of bullet you know will be like two three hundred or you know 162 because it's whatever was in the hopper of say a hundred and fifteen grain nine millimeter and then they'll have an 89 grain or a 92 grain 380 auto bullet and that'll have a whole bunch of different nine millimeter hollow points and it could be anything and What they do is they sell these a volume discount, but it's a mix the whole bucket is a mix
So you have to sort but the price and the savings is such that it definitely is worthwhile I will point out that will make the old hemorrhoid strain when you try to pick two of those up because these buckets are not full but pretty close or at least about three-quarters of the way and they are Heavy, it's a solid five gallon pale three-quarters of the well. I should say three-quarters of the way full pale of blood bullets
So you figure out what the weight might be. Oh my goodness. However, the big advantage of these is again price. Now you sort out the hollow points, soft points, the different weights. And once again, I mentioned that scale and I recommend you can get an electric or you can get a manual, traditional. But for this kind of job, you didn't have to be absolutely perfect. But what you want to do is you're going to sort out the bullets by weight.
Once you do that though, and I will point this out for reloading, you want to then weigh each of the bullets and separate them into groups by their sub-spec weight so that you have a more consistent number of bullets all in the same lot. And this will bring up your accuracy yet again with rifle or pistol if you perform the same task. Step one, sort out all the bullets by type and general weight.
Step two for those that are where it may be in most cases the greater volume which is going to be ball you then rescale and separate by specific weight down to the you know the Second decimal point okay, and by the time you're done You end up with a pretty consistent lot So just a heads up on that one and again this will vary I don't know if spirit hornet even have much
They have done this on and off and if you're near either of the warehouses and primary plants they traditionally have a sale site. So what's happening at this moment in time? Well, the situation with animal being what it is, anything could be going on. And they might have just closed the doors on that because they figure they can sell whatever they want in a 100 count or a 50 count box. Everybody has an attitude depending upon how the market's running.
So just again pay attention there. Now, another thing, Cinco di Ambele Day is over at CenterfireSystems.com CenterfireSystems.com CenterfireSystems.com Take a look again at their bulk quantity listings for ammunition. You'll notice there's a few things that have popped up there. If it floats your boat makes sense. You might want to move with that. They still have apparently still have the 40 Smith and Wesson mixed bags.
of 500 rounds. It's soft point, hollow point, lead and ball, standard ball ammunition. It will be a mix of cases, nickel, brass and aluminium. So that's the CCI. Everybody remembers the CCI ammo.
But again, there's some really good prices there. It's easier for you to go through and see what's right now in stock. Now, what is interesting is these particular odd lot outs, they've got to deal with someone. It used to be a company down the road from Centerfire that did a lot of overseas discards from military operations. One of their sources was Israeli.
And there would be bins, I've been to the place because I actually bought, we bought tonnage in powder from this company. 40 pound arsenal kegs of heavy machine gun powder, heavy rifle powder or 50 BMG powder.
They had pallet bins box type where they had brought in ammunition loose and it was 7.62x54R, 7.62x51NATO, 9mm Parabellum, 5.56, 7.62x39. It was all dumped in the same bins, dusty and a mix of condition for the ammunition. But it was all the same pattern, in other words the same manufacturer of ammunition.
And so probably this was stuff that was stacked, loaded, racked, ready to be used, and they dumped it all and replaced it.
It probably was in magazines or in belts. It was obviously in some kind of, you know, it was already in weapons systems in maybe a ready-up condition. And the gentleman could buy 20 of these at a time and had replaced them five, six, maybe seven times that I know of. And without any problem was able to go back to the same watering hole. Well, that's probably, then of course they became a source inside the United States.
So the same is true that that source was available to center fire and that may be where they're getting this 40 cal ammo from. We don't know if it's in country or out of country. Could be from a cop shop somewhere, could be from some inventory that was discarded out of stuff that was collected for, you know, a property room, who knows? Could be a foreign government police force or military because 40 Smith and Wesson has been used overseas too a little bit. Not so much as 9mm, but it's out there.
And the ammunition seems out. It's all American. So if they run down, it looks like they've already re-stocked again, which means they're working out the same feeding trough down the street. Now, you might even be able to go to the source and make it even better buy if you're willing to buy a pallet bin or two pallet bins or three or four pallet bins at a time, and then you do all the sorting. The particular company I was talking about, they had bought local street people.
and paid them to stand at each wall of the box and pick out 9 millimeter. And pick out, particularly pick out the calibers and sort them right there so they can market them. But to save time and save money, they were willing to sell the whole pallet bin, which means you get the benefit of whatever's in there. You gotta take whatever might be the few bad ones with all the rest of the good ones, because you can't see to the bottom.
But you also get a much much better price, so it's definitely well worth it Okay, and what first thing I would point out all that ammunition dusty It had the Middle Eastern dust of ages all over it Not written out rusty not oxidized just drier to popcorn fart dusty So we're at the bottom of the hour and it is Friday. Also, again, Quartermaster, there are some odds and ends items showing up over at Sportsman's Guide in Wet Weather Gear, which my favorite is for standard-sized ponchos. Ponchos? God. You know, guys, these are items that were, you know, I know, used to be. But not that long ago, it was a $4, $5 surplus item and then became a $10 surplus item.
The price for the China Sport copies, which are not badly done, but they are China Sport copies, they are strided nylon, they are in a number of different camouflages if you can find them, are running $27, $30, $35 apiece. Now, nothing has changed with regard to the material, nothing. It's just that the market has now been totally absorbed by the Communist Chinese
So, other than a very odd man out stray poncho here and there, you're not going to find very much of anything in the way of real surplus laying around. At this time, there is some woodland Italian floating in the system in ponchos, and that's the Italian version of our U.S. woodland pattern. And it's actually a pretty good mimic. All the woodland patterns, I'm stuffing into barrels for issue to one unit.
everything I find in the way woodland, camel, pants, field jackets, shirts, t-shirts, headgear, commercial cut, whatever, if it's in woodland, all goes in the same pile. That way it's all together and it'll be close enough.
For a little while there the French blouses were cheap. They're not now. The Austrian stuff, there's a little bit of a trickle coming in, also in the ponchos. It's not quite in the OD green. Remember, it's got more of that gray green because of the Alps, which is why the Austrians, every country picks the color range based upon their environment, mostly.
Oregon national interest for standardization, but that still has to do with somebody hopefully doing a little research and picking the color base that works best for their environment and area of operation. The Austrian equipment is as good as anything built in America. The NATO era copies from the Cold War that were made for neutral Austria, they made exact copies or close to exact copies of everything we did American.
So their equipment will completely integrate with ours. Pistol belts, suspenders, there were some really interesting backpacks that were an Alice type pack with both a front pack and a backpack, you might recall. They were steel. Those aren't out there anymore and most of those were probably absorbed in the 3, 4, 5, 6 wars over the last few years. But there are still some things trickling into the usual suspects. Marspec,
sportsman's guide and sometimes center fire etc. But near other companies, that's not the only, those aren't the only surplus companies out there. Allegheny Surplus may have, but again because the Allegheny is carrying original American Surplus, the prices are in the unobtanium or let's just say premium range. But they do have some good deals once in a while and they do have some decent. Now it's all American made product because they're using
They're doing all American material out of the auction system, out of the property disposal system. So you definitely want to look at Allegheny and see what they have at this moment and see if they have any bulk deals if you're organizing on a larger scale. One of the other things here too, I had a question for Janine. And again, this was about...

Well, that's not really cheap, but it's a lot cheaper than $20 for a canteen with cover. That the canteen was probably simply an aftermarket knockoff China Sport molded model very few. There was a company doing American here a little while back, a few years back, but I don't know if they're still in business and they're not being represented that I've seen. So for 22, 23, $25 for maybe a canteen cover and a canteen,
in plastic, it's not a big deal finding a US military Vietnam era canteen cover cheap. And there's a couple different sources for those reenactors. You get the canteen cup and the canteen, and then you'll have to scrounge up a cover. Go ahead, jump in there, caller. Oh, she's got me from Oklahoma. Mark, there is a better deal than that if you're just wanting a canteen, but you can get more. You just spend like about $10 more at McGuire Army Surplus.

So it comes with one canteen, canteen cover, compass pouch, which is also, it could be the compress pouch, guys.

It could be a medium pistol belt mark with the old style clasp where you just barely, I don't know what you call that clasp, the one before they did the normal, I forget the name of the buckle, the latest one, the older style.
I forget where you put it in and then you lift up on it just a little bit and it comes off. Right. It's a original TA90 pistol belt as opposed to the new ones which are the squeezing click. The squeeze click, right? Yes.

So if medium is all you can find, you can get the extenders and the older style clip are out there all over the place because, you know, they're not selling for the moment unless somebody runs into the right belt. They have a number of different combinations with regard to elbow pads and knee pads. They did have another bundle package of three sets. And they're listed as metropolitan or, you know, again, municipal, forgive me, it's municipal surplus. I believe that they're the hatch type on elbow pads and there are three sets and they're OD green. It's an odd man out thing, but I don't know what sizes are left. And usually when they get into clearance, not always do you have the full size range.

Before Iron Planet had the DOD sales, the operations out of, oh, come on, what was it? Now I'm going to rattle it off a moment ago. The former company, the Carrier, even though they use the standard DOD lot configuration that's actually been in place for half a century, as far as I know, this is year 2023, that's established by the system.
There's still odd man out stuff that they stuff into your package to try and salt the deal, make you feel good. That's really what it's about, is trying to make the customer feel good. And sometimes when they ordered a bunch of stuff, oh, by the way, they got 500 elbow pads. What?
Was that elbow pads? I didn't read elbow pads. Oh yeah, but we got everything else, but didn't you notice there's 500 elbow pads in here too? Well, they're not going to throw them away. And so it might not be their first priority product, but they're going to make money off them. And if they can offer them cheap because it's something that's off the schedule, so to speak, they're happy with that. Again, it's part of bringing customers in. This is part of developing the business. So take advantage of that wherever you can.
Are the elbow pads a high priority? Well, you know what? We got them, use them. None of us are getting younger and for all you guys that are older, picking up a decent set of elbow and knee pads only makes sense. You're not as resilient as you were, but if you do have the body armor out there, even just a bump armor, well that's what that is. Elbow and knee armor is bump armor. So you don't hit that funny bone that's not so funny.
The other thing is the armored gloves. Now for a very short window here, like only about two or three days, one of the companies had back bevel armored back of the hand beveled armored reinforced gloves for about $3.70 a pair. Haven't seen that price in what, three, four years. Problem is that they sold that as quickly as they put the product up there as like spit on a griddle. I got a few for myself.
but and for other family members. But immediately they disappeared. So if you see it and it's incredibly cheap and you think that you like it, what basically what it looks like and the size range is yours, I'd recommend you get what you think you need and a little extra right away. As long as you can order it. You may come back to the watering hole and it's gone. It's just not there and it ain't coming back.
One thing you remember about a lot of this stuff is it is surplus It's not product that is on the shelf because the manufacturer is making more for them It's what's left over from somebody else's project and when it's gone in many cases It's just gone The only good thing is if they the source may have a pile that were the people you make contact with You know, they go back and dip from that well, but eventually the well runs dry
So be ready for that. It's like ammunition and everything else. Last but not least, recommend that if you can pick up 556, if this weekend especially, we should be focusing on picking up as much 556 as you can afford within your regulated budget. 556 is the dominant round. I prefer many heavier calibers, but as I've said a million times, the times have changed.
The gladdiest of the day for what we're doing is the AR-15 rifle. The AK is right there side by side with it and there are many people are now rediscovering the AK-47, but in all of its variants. But the 5.56 round is the dominant round. We got to keep the rifles fed. We need to keep those men and women in service that are carrying it. And you're never going to have enough ammo.

Real quick here with regard to Somebody asking even as I did this an off on the other screen here About the TA 90 gear that's the Alice gear for most of it recall it as the Alice But it's actually the TA 90 and there is a TA 92 93
Or, what we call the Granada Rig. They've changed the nomenclature on that. Part of that's kind of interesting because I don't think they changed the nomenclature. I think the industry just talks about it differently. But the Granada Rig will hook right up to everything we just talked about that Shelby found.
and in place of the suspenders. So you can take the pistol belt, you can take all the pouches that we're just talking about and hook them up to what is a utility vest that has three pockets on left and right upper chest belly area that are M16 mag pockets. Now otherwise, you can hook all the other stuff that you want up to this system.
You don't need the suspenders, don't need the Y suspenders or the H suspenders. The vest actually replaces that. But it does take the pistol belt, which means all of these very inexpensive Cold War era pouches that are just not in vogue because you're not using them for reenacting or anything, means that you can actually kit out that belt quite nicely between that and some of the other
combo pockets that are out there from like Botash.com or any number of other sources. And to be quite honest, what I use is the combination of the TA90 and TA56 for most of my work. I've had the same kit set up for nigh on 40 years and it
no real need to change. What I can do is change the pouches as needed depending on the weapon that I'm using. And the only thing I've been looking for is with the pistol carbine weapons, finding a more useful
Volumous magazine pouch. There's a bunch of different options out there Including what have been around for a very long time, which are like the five there's there's there's four five and six pocket Large capacity standard pistol mags for like the well, it should set large capacity but standard 15 16 round They're in black during green. They're in coyote. You'll find them in dirt
Greasy dirt that's not the name of the pattern, but that's really where it came from. It's called. It's basically greasy dirt You'll see those over at major surplus Vail is doing a bunch of those types of items right now But what I was looking for is something in a military surplus item that we can adapt and one that I found but it looks like it's already gone from the supply system is Hungarian suspender
mag pouch. They're leather, they do have some leather on them, but they're perfect for the standard Glock magazine. And they were kind of like a cartridge belt kind of arrangement, but for pistol mags. However, they were in the airborne pattern in that they hang from on the front perpendicular to the body, like your body, and the pockets open towards the center where you button your coat or zip up your coat.
I like the design, but in adapting them to the newer or other systems really isn't that hard. But that would be supplemental, just something I'd put in my belt. So there are a number of other pockets and whatever, but what I'm looking is to stack more like four magazines to a pocket, two to the front, two to the back. That would really be great.
Until then, I'll improvise, adapt, and overcome. There's all kinds of other options out there in terms of pouches. And if I just keep experimenting, I'll find something that we can all talk about later on in the year. You may have already found something out there. But again, I mentioned major surplus. They do have a wide range of pouches like that or that can be used for that purpose. And they do have a mix of colors and some of the camos that nobody else carries. I don't know why. And I don't know what happened to that particular pattern. It's kind of like I just mentioned veil.
The veil pattern is an excellent camo pattern. It's overall shading creates the light, dark extreme that you need for long range disruption. If you have one solid color,
At range, the problem you have with that is you're just a human silhouette blob. No matter what anybody says, the colors. At some point, if I cross all the different colorations here that I'm looking at, I've got the russets, I've got the blooms coming out of the different fruit trees, I've got the standard greens with the pine trees. The maples are out there in the fresh leaf, which is the bright green.
The problem you've got is almost every piece of terrain you pass over, there's no single area where you're going to have a solid color. Maybe a deep pine forest cure, a deep wood of maple, ash, or oak, sure. But the moment you leave that, you're back into diverse terrain. And what you want is from a long distance, you want the light, dark contrast so that it's not possible to pick out or focus on one color or the other.
At the closer range, the detail camouflage can take over and actually helps kind of like you see, although the Crypttec gets up and down depending on where you are. The ATACS is in the cloud pattern, so it's not so detailed. The veil is just reversed. It's a very detailed pattern, more like the Crypttec is a detailed pattern, but in the medium range.
The veil camels have very small pattern, almost looks like it would be a digital, but it's not. It's just the way they patterned it out to create stepping effects with the different color blasts, the color splashes around it. If you look at veil camel, you'll see it's quite intricate. It's also quite expensive.
So, so I'm not saying, hey, we're out there and buy a bunch of Vam camo. If you already have it, congratulations. If that's what you're into and it works, if you can afford it, it's great stuff. Okay. The biggest problem is it's on the edge. I can see, and I've seen this before where a pattern like that has come out or a company has come out and they, they, they get that burst. But then, you know, it's, it's a tactical chic. All of a sudden there'll be something else that you just, it's so much more important. It's what happened to CryptTek. It's what's happened to ATACS.
They're still out there, they still have a good following and new people finding them. But the big pulse, we're past that. And it's really obvious coming from the market that builds from the wholesale and the production end. What we're seeing in terms of what's there and not there. The other thing I will point out, and this is really obvious when you look at the overall market.
is the flat single colors are cheaper and that's why rather than worry about the camo sheet the big thing they're doing right now is building in the base colors because they're cheaper, they move faster, they get turnaround. Okay? So that's some of the considerations when you're looking for, you're hunting for stuff.
Now, with most of these types of like the utility rig, it's over at, again, mcguirearmynavy.com, mcguirearmynavy.com, $35 for pistol belt suspenders, a couple of mag pouches, the compass pouch slash compress pouch, canteen cover, and canteen. That's a good price for what that is.
Now they may have a kit like that over at Sportsman's Guide and the price may be up and down, but that's a decent price and it's a basic kit that all of the NATO and Cold War equipment will hook to. So that makes it pretty useful where you keep the cost down and end up with very durable military grade equipment. Not a problem with the Mali or even the aftermarket Mali, I don't care what the hell it is right now.
We're waiting for a sampler of a bunch of stuff coming in from one of the other sources to take a look at their bollock lavas, take a look at their armored gloves if there's any that's been replaced. They may not even get those, but we're looking at other patterns. The big thing here again is pick a direction, commit to it, get it done as much as anything. Again, this is part of the quartermaster component of this hour.
Okay, real quick, let's go back through something else. There's a news break for everybody out there. 354 Eastern Standard Time, 254 Central, refinery fire near La Porte, Texas in Deer Park. Intersection of Center Street in 225, possibly Shell refinery. Again, it is one of the refineries, or two there by what I've been told.
There is extensive coverage as Ed pointed out. Channel 2 down there is doing it, but there have been other services that have picked up almost immediately. But the live ongoing coverage has been with the locals and they've been doing a very good job. So if you want to get a peek at what it is that they're dealing with, you can go down, you can go over to YouTube, punch in a search for refinery, fire, deer park,
I think that'll probably get you where you need to. And then maybe put today, because obviously it's happening right now. And where you can put over the last, you know, as a search with, you know, criteria within the last hour. Because the news feeds constant. Now this means that refinery is going to be down for a bit. No matter what, a significant fire means that they have to meet all safety regulations. They're going to have to get, you know, they're going to have to have somebody come in and do a re-inspection.
First, you have to determine damage. Once you get everything under control, then they have to do the survey, then they'll actually have to do the work. And while they're doing the work, they have all kinds of issues to meet with the federal government and the local government, state government. So you know how that is ad nauseam. So this will affect processing in the Gulf. It may not be the biggest one, but there are only so many refineries left in the United States. And it's not an accident that we've seen happen, what's happening with regard to lack of production.
Anyway, you might hear I have my helper in the background here. Oh, and then she completely shuts up. There we go, finally. So anyway, she's heard around the world and she doesn't even know it. Anyway, so again, Refinery Fire, this is located at Deer Park, which is near La Porte, Texas. We're trying to find it on the map. 225 and Center Street is the location. The fire started around...
or was first reported at 3.54 PM Eastern Standard Time, 2.54 Central. Okay. And again, not going to affect everybody right away, but it will affect all of us with regard to supply. I don't think they'll use it as an excuse to jack the price on gas everywhere.
As a matter of fact, they did jack the gas prices here locally. It probably saw it all over the country. About a week and a half ago, jumped by 30, 40 cents a gallon. That didn't last long in many areas. Although it's still more expensive around the towns like Ann Arbor, etc., here in Michigan, everything else has dropped back closer to $3 a gallon, 309, 336, 316, 319.
So that's a 40 cent drop again. They checked up almost 70 cents, $3.70 a gallon. And what is it? It is one of the cheaper areas of the state for gasoline. So I should tell you everybody else probably hit closer, some close to the $4 or hit the $4 mark last week. They too have backed down. You can see this at the pumps, the activity just stops.
People aren't buying the their money just not there for that kind of roller coaster game. It has been in the past Everybody's you know kind of feeling unsure and so Everybody's being much more careful about where where they're spending the many dollars a what few dollars they have But what many dollars they need to spend to continue to function and with the inflation slash read that evaluation of the currency That's not changing

So, on the screen is the case I'm talking about. It's the Robert C. Beavis, Law Weapons, Inc., doing business as law weapons and supply, and Illinois Corporation and the National Association of Gun Rights versus the city of Naperville, Illinois, and Jason Erez, who is the police chief, as well as the state of Illinois. So, the city of Naperville back last August passed their
uh... assault weapon band uh... by a vote of eight to one by the city council okay and they instituted a set up a and on the commercial sale of assault weapons so-called assault weapons in the city limits and they're saying that that doesn't violate the second amendment because actually i'm gonna you know i'm gonna take this opportunity to let you all see
the stress that I deal with when I research these cases because I want you to get as fired up as I am about what's going on with our rights so that you will be a better advocate for the Second Amendment so that we can kick ass. Check this out. First off, they start off by saying what is considered an assault rifle, which the average person, you just can't go into a store and buy an assault rifle. Why? Because it's like fire in full auto. So this is what they say is prohibited in the city.
Okay, you want to read it, it's the same stuff that's in every one of these stupid bans. And then they go on and say that the definition of assault rifles is very similar to assault weapons during the Clinton ban years, so we're going to say it's the same thing anyway, because this is our opinion. And one thing that I love that Mr. Gunzinger says a lot is that a law is simply a politician's opinion without people violating their oath to enforce it. So if police don't enforce it, none of this happens, yet here we are.
Let's continue. The summary of their argument. This is where I start to get enraged.
The court should affirm the district court's denial of a preliminary injunction. The plaintiffs are unlikely to succeed on the merits of their constitutional claims. Plaintiffs claim this is an exceedingly simple case. They argue that the sale ordinance is unconstitutional because the regulated assault weapons are possessed by literally millions of law-abiding citizens for lawful purposes, including self-defense in the home. But the Supreme Court in New York State Rifle and Pistol Association v. Bruin called for a considerably more sophisticated two-step analysis.
this court should ignore plaintiff's invitation to disregard the Supreme Court's instructions. Actually, that's a frickin' lie. The attorneys are lying. Lying, boldface. In fact, the court said that the two-step analysis was one step too far. And what you're going to see here is they're trying to flip the responsibilities that Bruin's decision said are incumbent upon the government. and their proposed weapons, arms. Planets have not carried this burden as to either step one requirement. The action prohibited by the sale ordinance, sale of certain assault weapons, plainly is not a prohibition on any person's ability to keep or bear weapons. If you can't purchase them, you can't keep or bear them. And it's a firearm, which is protected by the Second Amendment, therefore it's an arm. So the keeping bears being violated because you can't purchase them.
And it's an arm which is protected by the Second Amendment, according to Pruitt and Heller. And this is all the Second Amendment is applicable to the states. McDonald. I could keep going and going and going. It's a bold-faced lie, and we're waiting on the judge. Let's keep going. Planets have also failed to show that assault weapons are arms that fall within the scope of the Second Amendment protection under Bruin in the District of Columbia v. Heller. Planets have not shown that the assault rifle covered by the ordinance are commonly used for lawful self-defense. And even if they could make that showing, assault weapons still sit outside the original public meeting of arms because they are dangerous and unusual weapons, which have historically fallen outside the scope of the Second Amendment's protection.
As discussed below, there is no evidence that assault weapons are commonly used for lawful self-defense, and there is a great deal of evidence that assault weapons are dangerous and unusual. That's what they're trying to do here. They're trying to say that AR-15's semi-automatic rifles, just based off of what they look like, based off of what you could possibly attach to them, cause medic features because a rifle is a rifle is a rifle.
They're saying that these are dangerous and unusual. Why is that key? Because if they're dangerous and unusual, then they fall under the NFA, thus more stringently controlled and people have to go through more hoops. The city of Naperville is trying to get a judge to say in the Seventh Circuit that semi-automatic rifles...
are NFA items. This is what they're trying to do in Illinois. This is the only way they would win this case because it violates Bruin. It violates Heller. It violates McDonald. It violates the Second Amendment. It violates everything. I'm going to show you a couple more things so you can get as frustrated as I am because this is what they're trying to do to our rights.
Planets have not met their burden at this first step. Planets have not demonstrated that assault weapons are arms for which the Second Amendment protects the right to keep and bear. The plain text of the Second Amendment says nothing about a right to sell firearms. Selling assault weapons is not a constitutionally protected activity. And they want to say that assault weapons are dangerous and unusual. They also said that Naperville's sale ordinance is consistent with the United States' historical tradition of regulating dangerous and unusual weapons. Next, under Bruin's framework, Naperville's sale ordinance follows the historical tradition of regulating dangerous and unusual weapons, particularly ones frequently employed in unlawful activities rather than lawful self-defense. So they're going to take something away from you because you're not doing anything wrong.
Because a couple criminals that they won't go hard on they won't put in jail They'll let come freely out of jail again to do it over and over and over and never put any away Anybody away and never hold anybody accountable That's all part of the plan to take them from you and always has been so I wanted you to see the crux of what Illinois is trying to do they're trying to say that an AR-15 semi-automatic action aka MPX MCX you name it
They are NFA items is what they're saying should be further regulated and they also say They also say in here that the Second Amendment only applies to handguns. But Morton Grove decided to ban the evil, the only evil, the evil that was not protected by the Second Amendment. Morton Grove was the big banner city, well not very big city, not on the map in Illinois around Chicago, all handguns.
Anybody remember this? It was the banner for Handgun Control Incorporated that the Jewish mob that's been pushing this crap for as long as I've been around. And it's always the same rehash and they always lie because they're not after your rifles, they're after those evil handguns. If we get those handguns, the handguns are not covered by the Second Amendment. Handgun Control Incorporated and Sarah Brady are going to get those handguns.
But not your rifles, because they're not after your shotguns, they're not after your rifles, they're after those handguns. They go back and forth with these lies constantly, and it's always from the same cesspools, it's always from the same piles of pus, it's always from the same excrement.

Now, before the days of all of these other large capacity pistols around around on the market and while stainless was coming up big time, the P-18 was invented and it was being built where? The P-18 was a great idea, and by the way, the 18 represented the fact that like the Stenkin, it had an 18-shot magazine capacity. A very long, or slightly longer grip assembly because it was a standard handgun. All stainless steel. A really good idea. Interestingly enough, Steyer made a copy of it that worked flawlessly.
They didn't call it the P18, but the P18 in stainless also could have qualified for the name JAMO-Matic, or at least it was argued such.
Part of it is that they wanted to get the gun out for one of the SHOT Show type events. They pressed to get the prototypes approved, which they did. AKF had no problem because it's one of the shows that ran the company. And so then they got production going and it was a small production shop like many of the others I told you about that existed in the 80s.
70s and 80s. These were all literally mom and pop manufacturing, but not tiny, tiny. They actually had a little factory and in the process of banning guns, they also banned the sale and manufacture and of course they put the P18 under. Well, the company actually, forgive me, I can't rattle the name of the company off right away, but the pistol itself, the P18 is very memorable. It was a great idea.
I would have probably thought it would be a decent weapon, but the fit and finish was not really great. It was stainless, all stainless, every tiny part, every odd part.
for firearms manufacturing. So that's where one of the problem is not everybody was familiar with all the grades of stainless and they were not familiar with proper finish or reducing tooling imaging or tooling print with the metal.

Actually, it's tougher than a lot of the MOLLE gear in several ways. A lot of the MOLLE gear, the big advantage of it is padding. There's two directions where the padding is a plus. Number one, towards your body. Of course, you've got rubber BB buggy bumper padding. Padding devices now even for the pistol belts, for the utility belts that are built for the MOLLE gear. The only thing that's happening here is you're adding more weight. With every pouch, you add more weight. And the pouch by itself without having something in the pouch.
So, you know, you may have ultramight everything, but eventually ultramight adds up to, you know, kind of heavy if you don't watch it. This is where the balance comes in. You've got to choose a system and commit to it. Most important is we're carrying mag pouches to carry lots more mags. We really want lots more mags. You really want lots more mags. How many? Many as you can carry. Many different ways you can carry them or drag them into the area of operation.

It's just designed to be a set of suspenders that they attach to the regular gear of the day, which was a narrower belt, not as tall a belt as say the regular pistol belt.
And it was designed to be a support system but also give you additional magazine pouches, I believe, possibly for the Scorpion. But because it's the Scorpion shorter magazine pocket, the standard Glock mags slide in. So, or add other staggered magazine capacity, you know, large capacity mags will fit in too. I haven't checked the high power yet, but I'm thinking it might fit.
But so we'll see but the big thing here is it's chubby enough because the scorpion SMG mags were they're not real super chunky or anything But they've got a couple of you know leading edges that make them on the one hand They're relatively narrow, but it expands their dimension a little bit. They got to have space to tuck them in Those are canvas and leather. They actually look pretty good pretty cool. I've already got one
But again, I wanted to do a little more experimentation. I'm going to slide it off the original rig, slide it onto a set of either Alice or Belgian suspenders, Belgian TA-56 type suspenders, and then sew them or stitch them into place. See how they work. I think I'm going to like them.

Yes, go there, watch that. The big impact of this will be felt at the pumps. Because we are not building new refineries. The American government has been shutting refineries down. There are refineries that have been inactive in California because of governmental regulations. They're sitting there, but nothing is being done with them.
And now we've got this one down here in Texas that has caught fire. I guarantee you they're going to use all kinds of excuses until they know why the explosion happened. Even after that, new safety regulations, all this other crap that's going to come out on top of this, that will reduce the refinery plants even more. That's why we've talked about this before on this hour.
You know, there's a glut of tankers off the coast in the Gulf of Mexico waiting to come in and unload oil at the refineries. The gas prices should not be what they're at. But we just don't have the capacity to refine it because we have crippled that system. Well, not we have, but the federal government has crippled that system.
from working and have gone out of their way to force refineries to either shut down or go into neutral idle in some cases. So this will be interesting. I would recommend topping off your gas tanks at least if that's all you can do, but definitely put some fuel and storage if you like the prices where they're at now because I do expect to see gasoline prices to spike with this.
whatever the case may be, whether they decide this is an act of terrorism or just an accident, blah blah blah, whatever the narrative is that they're gonna run with it, this is going to effect fuel prices. You know why? Your politicians have made those cities, I know Denver is one of them, it is a quote unquote sanctuary city. They have told the illegal aliens that they're welcome there. And the federal government are not letting Texas deport them.
They force their hand to force them into this bullshit legal process, which if I was down there, if I was in that position...
I would not be the I wouldn't be listening to the federal government. I wouldn't even let him cross the border in the first place. You just close border down. It's not it wouldn't be that hard. We've got more National Guard that have been sent with mass. Yes, the National Guard in the army. I can't remember which they sent down to the border right now in the El Paso area. But you know, it doesn't matter how many trips you send. You've already announced everybody that they're going to be unarmed. They're not going to be allowed to act as border patrol.
They're just there to assist cycling the people through. And this is being supported by the mayors in cities like Denver who think that, oh yeah, it's a totally good thing when they don't have to deal with it. But like what happened with Martha Vingard, the island over there in that area, as soon as they got 50 illegal immigrants bust there, oh, we can't handle this.
We don't logistically have it, but we want to be a sanctuary city except for when we actually have to sanctuary these people. We want other people to do it, and I can understand the political play that was made there by DeSantis sending it up there, because, and that was Florida sending people. It's not just the Texas governor that's doing that.
I don't know what's going on in New Mexico, even though that's right across the border, and it's kind of an interesting situation in and of itself. It's like New Mexico. Even being as close to New Mexico as I am right now in the panhandle of Texas, it's like it doesn't exist.

And then after they're talking to Rittenhouse, you see a couple APCs come down the street, armored vehicles. And what's on top of the one? So there are a lot of like where many warehouse or strip malls in the area that have missing teeth and I mean big missing teeth. You might have one shop that's running and then you had you used to have like four or five of the same shop around town in different places. The only one that's still like that is Walmart. But things like clothing store like Beals or
there's some other stuff like Sears and Crap, but it was not Sears, but another brand that had multiple stores all over the place during the COVID thing. It went down. We also had like a like 50 or so gyms like Body Works and what is it fitness world and stuff like that. Now we've got maybe two or three because of the COVID thing that was another thing that should have bunch of them down.
They've all reopened as other things or they're sitting there as vacant lots and we still have this construction going on south of me where they're expanding the city out and they got all this new housing. They've got these new strip malls and everything going in out there and I've actually watched this happen while I'm here how the city population kind of moves where they're doing business. There's always some small stuff left back where it was.
But it's almost like it gets abandoned and moved around with the construction. It's an interesting thing to watch. Anyway, we've eaten up about a half hour of time on this. We went down on a couple rabbit holes. I really didn't want to go down. But that's okay. It was an interesting discussion.

As you know, there's an injunction put on in Illinois against the assault weapon ban, the magazine ban, and then yesterday I told you about the stay where it is now the ban is back in effect. Now, during that week, I know numerous companies were honoring sales of lawful items that are protected by the Second Amendment into Illinois. Well, got some information here. Excuse me.
Allergies are killing me because of the information here from the Illinois State Police and I figured I'd share it with y'all. It says, in consultation with the Illinois Attorney General's Office, if the purchase of a firearm or firearm attachment banned under PICA was initiated but not completed between the date of the Southern District of Illinois' order on April 28 of 23,
until the stay of such order by US Appellate Court on May 4, 2023, the delivery of such weapon would be unlawful pursuant to that law. If the purchase of a firearm or firearm attachment banned under PICA was initiated and completed between the date of the Southern District of Illinois order on April 28-23 until the stay of such order by US Appellate Court on May 4, 2023, the possession of such weapon will be unlawful.
beginning January 1st of 2024. Persons who possess a banned firearm or firearm attachment are required to endorse an affidavit by January 1 of 2024 stating that any banned firearm or firearm attachments were possessed prior to the enactment of PICA, which is January 10th of 2023, pursuant to that law. So they're saying that if you own or possess
one of these banned items or firearms, then you must put your name on an affidavit before January 1st, 2024, saying that you own these since before the ban went into effect January 10th of 23. So now the lawsuits are still going. Ultimately, I don't see any way that Illinois can win this. I think they're going to lose. In fact, the Supreme Court might have something to say about it relatively soon.
They've given the state of Illinois till the 8th of May to give them more information on why they shouldn't act against this ban. Now, if you did get an item, don't take any friggin' pictures of it. Don't post it on social media. Don't tell anybody. Did make an order. Companies probably aren't going to send it now until this is settled in the courts. Because ultimately, it puts them in business, right? It puts their business at risk. So, wanted to give you this information.

I can't remember what other charges that they said that he had on him from the other times where he was deported because when he was deported it was because he had done something. He was caught doing something that was found out that he was illegal. This time when they caught him, he was at his new wife's house and she was harboring him in the closet. I wonder who ratted him out there.

But yeah, I would not assist them in creating their confiscation list in Illinois. I would not do that. I would definitely follow Jared's advice. Keep it to yourself. Let's see. Let's get right to it. Here is the bill submitted by Matt Gaetz and of note the Senate version was submitted by Senator Mullen from Oklahoma. You can see here it says this act may be cited as the Stand Your Ground Act of 2023. Very short bill. Let's go over it. Affirmative defense. Chapter 124, section 2730 for the affirmative defense for certain criminal violations. Use or threatened use of force in defense of person.
It shall be an affirmative defense to a violation of this title if, one, a person is justified in using, threatening, or attempting to use force, except deadly force, against another, when and to the extent that the person reasonably believes that such conduct is necessary to defend himself or herself or another against an aggressor's imminent use of unlawful force.
A person who uses or threatens to use force in accordance with this paragraph does not have a duty to retreat before using or threatening to use such force. Two, a person is justified in using, threatening, or attempting to use deadly force if he or she reasonably believes that using, threatening, or attempting to use such force is necessary to prevent imminent death or great bodily harm to himself or herself
or another, or to prevent the imminent commission of a forcible felony.
A person who uses, threatens, or attempts to use deadly force in accordance with this paragraph does not have a duty to retreat and has the right to stand his or her ground if the person using, threatening, or attempts to use the deadly force is not engaged in a criminal activity and is in a place where he or she has a right to be. Now there's three definitions associated with the bill, duty to retreat,
The term duty to retreat means that if a person is under attack, he or she should first seek retreat as the preferred alternative to using force to act in self-defense. Number two is forcible felony, which includes treason, merchant treason. How many people in Congress are committing treason regularly?
murder, manslaughter, sexual battery, carjacking, home invasion, robbery, robbery, burglary, arson, kidnapping, aggravated assault, aggravated battery, aggravated stalking, aircraft piracy, unlawful throwing, placing or discharging of a destructive device or bomb, and any other felony which involves the use or threat of physical force or violence against any individual. And then the third one is stand your ground.
which means the allowance of an individual to defend himself or herself by any means necessary when his or her life is threatened. If this were to be passed through both houses and signed into law, whether it's by this president or the next, the effective date and applicability, the amendments made under subsection A shall take effect on the date of the enactment of this act and may be used as an affirmative defense by a defendant in the prosecution of a criminal offense initiated
after the date of the enactment of this act. So that means if it's signed, it goes into effect immediately and people cannot use this as a defense if they were jammed up prior. This would be going forward. Now many states already have this, some states don't. They want you to run away first. Never understood that. Hey, stick them up. Wait, let me run. Wee, wee, wee, all the way home. Just doesn't make sense. But again, like I said in a previous video.
These politicians just don't get it, man. Living in that tower, they just don't get it. Now, what's the chance, the realistic chance that this passes? Will it pass the House? It's very possible it passes the House. Very possible. Pass the Senate? Nope. I don't think so. I don't see them getting enough for cloture to defeat the filibuster. Joe Biden sure as hell isn't assigning it. Now, I struggle with this, and I said it before. This is something I struggle with. Why? Put a bill...
Like this or Matt Gaetz is you know, abolish the ATF bill Why put them forward when they have that much chance to get through and get signed into law? Submitting bills submitting bills that have no chance is akin to Rushing to be the first to file a lawsuit Just because because you want to maybe fundraise off of it when you don't have the time to digest whatever it is That you're suing on
and then thus can't make a solid positive attack against what the infringement is in whatever. Whether it's the Second Amendment, Fourth Amendment, divorce, whatever it is. It's something I struggle with. I understand why. Like even my friends at Gun Owners of America, we talk about this all the time, and I say, why do this? And I understand it's to get people on record and to build the number of co-sponsors over whatever. If it takes years, whatever, I get it.
I just don't see this passing through Joe Biden's White House. Who knows, maybe in two years, when this is resubmitted in the next Congress, maybe we have a different show of makeup, maybe it does get passed, and they'll use the people who sign up now and who are rattling the saber for it now to recruit others to get it done. Something like this should have been submitted when Trump was in office and they had control. You know, we had the president, we had control. But because of the drama and the show that goes on there where, look, we're actually against each other, this didn't get put forward then.

With the last report from the local news down there that we were able to grab. I've got family members down there that are paramedics. It may be on the scene, so I might get some more first-hand information from them after things have settled down. So we will see.

But if you go with the ALIS system, then needless to say, you need the lower part of the back with the frame clear. So no equipment is stationed pretty much to the rear as part of the norm. So this is because each system, when you hear about like a TA56 or a TA58 or a TA90 or a TA90 and extend during the other hour, and the 9293 add-on or conversions in the transition systems,
They're all built around a concept kit for that era. But they're all integrated. They're all inter-serviceable. In fact, I would point out, I did say Cold War slash NATO, every piece of equipment we've made in Webgear, if you have the standard US pistol belt with the grommets, which have been made to specification for a century, for 100 years plus,
Okay? Means that you can use any piece of web gear that you might find laying around that suits your fancy going all the way back to pre-World War I. In fact, basically back to Spann M, Spanish-American War. There are some interesting pouches or things that would fit. And let me give you an example. I can, for instance, drop the US pistol belt, mount the tent pocket cartridge belt from any of those eras,
Everything hooks up. I can put the fanny pack on the rear of that belt just like I would on the regular, you know, pistol belt, the bare pistol belt type, and it would all hook up. One that was very common for a bit were the BAR belts, which if you run into them, you might see them at yard sales. They'll have six pockets, sometimes five pockets and a double mag pouch. Sometimes...
5 double mag pockets for the BAR magazines, which means they'll fit HK91 mags really well. They will fit FNFAL, they will fit M14. Now the other two lighter ones are a little skinnier, so there's a little more slop in there, but they are still an excellent carry system.
But the last model actually has a buttstock fixture for inserting the buttstock of the BAR into it on your belt and using it in hip fire assault mode. And all of those were still floating around for two, three, five dollars all through and up to the early 90s.
and they were original World War I issue that was still out there plus boy World War II and all the other World War II manufacturers Korean War and Vietnam War all that stuff integrates. So if you don't have to, and I will remind everybody about this, we're militia, we're not the donut of destruction. We can take advantage of all of the inventories not just of the United States but across the planet and it's what works for you that you can utilize.
So you can come up with a system that suits the adopted weapon system that's your standard for the unit. Plus also adapt other pouches or systems to your kit if you're embracing rifle grenades or parachute flares, any number of other items. Night vision, you need a different carrying pouch for that, something for that. Well, there's...
decades and decades and decades worth of stuff hanging around out there. I will say this for most of your night vision and such, some of the best padded pouches right now on the market are obviously Molly. But some items are available from the Vietnam through to the Grenada era slash the end of the Reagan era Bush era.
and into the, you know, the 90s. There's a bunch of odds and ends piece of equipment that came and went. The gears no longer in service, the optical device or whatever. But many of your night vision pieces of equipment will slide right into those pouches and those pouches are designed to affix to your tactical gear. So you can make this work. And again, another little point in a minute here that it's attached to that brain, that brainstem from that direction of my lumber yard here.
The big thing here is make sure that it works for you, can reach it. Not because it looks correct, but because you can reach it and use it. I think that's the most common mistake made. We don't have to be obliged because of standard operating procedure for a rigid donut of destruction standard for the technical gear that you're going to carry, the tactical gear you're going to use.
So, you have to remember that when you do mount the equipment, you have to test it to ensure that you can reach it, that it serves you. Now, some points on your gear, the buddy system is still a better way to go. You don't have to take all your equipment off, reach to a back pocket, even in your backpack. This is what the buddy system is about. It gets your partner to reach in, your teammate to reach in, find what it is you're looking for, seal everything back up, snug everything down or tighten it.
and use the equipment as needed, you know, select as needed, okay? So that's something that we've talked about for decades, but it needs to be reinforced because there is a lot of inexpensive, but very well-made tactical gear to use. We're not worried about being tactical chic. We're worried about being able to field enough people, field everybody with basic equipment
that is serviceable and will function as expected based upon the mission. Okay? And on that note, before I forget, colmans.com Quartermaster Friday, colmans.com, colmans.com. There is a rectangular bag in the clearance section. And it's really kind of funny the way they printed this up. I've got a couple of them. They're virtually new. They're brand new old inventory. GP, small, medium and large or field kitchens, field mess, hospital tent, lighting. Now the way they wrote it is this. It's $9.80 I think or whatever it is for the bag. But you get the foam and the light bulbs included for free. In other words, you're getting the whole pack for complete.
Unless you absolutely really really really need that bag for something which you might and for $10 it's actually well built They're they're brand new. These are sealed in plastic With the bulbs and everything on board. They have inspection tags the whole nine yards You know, the nomenclature is there too so you can understand what I'm talking about Once you get them, you'll see what they are But I do recommend picking up some of these because of the light bulbs and the bag is a gimme
The big thing is I wouldn't take anything out. I'd leave it just the way it is because these are a high impact conventional light bulb that is not going to be affected by EMP. Very different tool, very different mechanism. Of course, if you're on top of a bomb, don't have to worry about EMP. You're just going to worry about what temperature nearest the sun you're going to be living at for a nanosecond, right? You worry about nukes, okay? But the big thing about this is that again, this is a good buy.
For $10, you're getting 10 nested in high-impact foam. It's the dense transport foam, or what you see in briefcases for cutout type storage systems. And you get the bag, and you don't have to open it up. You know it's inside, unless you want to cut one open to show everybody. But otherwise, I'd leave it just the way it is, because it was built for and packaged for long-term storage to go along with or to be replacements.
to be issued out as equipment fails. And it is a good buy. I've got a couple of them, like I said, I'm gonna be buying some more. They are definitely worth the money for what they are. And this is designed to give you a portable light source, several hanging lights as normally you would see in a GP medium, GP small, medium large, the field kitchen tents, the hospital tents, et cetera. So you'll notice in the scroll, it'll typically show up on the left-hand side as you go down, and it's a constant feed scroll, so you gotta be patient.
But if you see that that looks to be of interest, combine that with picking up, I would say, three or four of the bags with the bulbs in them, you've got a complete lighting system self-contained. I have not seen the lighting fixtures. It may come the same way, already prepackaged, stored for time, but I don't know. On the other hand, the bulbs I do.
But again, there's a solution, one-stop shopping, pretty straightforward. Also, all the pouches and stuff I was just talking about a minute ago, yep, they got all that stuff over there at Coleman Studio, a lot of different ones. So if you shop through there, you might find something in line with what it is that you were thinking of putting together. Not so much on others and it's like every place they've got their niche and there's things that they're better at than you know Each one's better at than others So you want to go through keep shooting calm see what they've most recently pulled out of the supply system and take advantage of that also, okay? next I Mentioned that 30 caliber defense high point carbine. No, I've not seen it I've seen it in video, but I have not seen it personally
And I really wouldn't be anything that's a surprise. The only thing you're finding out is how does this caliber perform as opposed to the others? The big deal about that .30 caliber defense high point carbine is they're the first people to make one, make a carbine in that caliber. So if you're listening and you have something in that chambering and you wanted a little rifle, high point is making it right now.
And magazines are available through High Point. They're built right here in Ohio, or well, south of us in Ohio, we're in Michigan. And they're built in the Midwest. They have three factories. They crank out a whole ton of pistols and a whole ton of the light rifles, the carbines. And it would be like probably shooting a .22. A little more recoil, but basically all, for me, the 9mm is such a comfortable carbine to shoot.
Again, if you're an older person and you have that pistol, now here again, if you're an older person and you're limited in money, but you're looking at buying another weapon, but your older weapons are heavier, more powerful, and they're kind of beaten on you, the High Point Carbine in 9mm is an incredibly comfortable rifle to shoot.
It is cheaper by one-third what a 9mm AR is. Do I consider them in the same class? Well, I'll tell you what, if I shoot you with the high point carbine or the 9mm AR-15, I'll bet you you got probably hit the same way. And if I do it right, you're both dead at the hands of either tool. Now, each one has its own unique features. The big thing about the high point is lightweight, 10-shot magazines,
I wouldn't worry about getting the bigger sticks to be quite honest for somebody who's just using it for personal defense. I just buy lots of standard magazines for reliability. The big thing is you can get it if you have a 45, or if you want to buy a pistol, you can buy a pistol in the counterpart pistol configuration high point in 9mm. If you got a 9mm carbine, 40 caliber. If you want to go 40 caliber carbine, you can get a pistol the same way in 45 and 45.
And that's kind of cool. And High Point has a lifetime warranty, lifetime guarantee, and they're really good. They've made a reputation that nobody wants to talk about. They've been really good about following up on supporting their weapons, and that's more critical than anything. Years ago, Ruger was the king on that, and that's back when Mr. Ruger was still alive. He was a bastard to the gun owners of America.
But he knew how to manage the company in terms of business. And if you had to partner up that was a problem, he'd send you three. Used to. Sometimes 10. Not exaggerating. Used to have a, getting what was operating a gun shop. We had many 14s that told us about that experience. Somebody knew exactly what the problem was. You call them up, say, hey, this is what happened. You'd have next day mail, express mail, but we didn't have next year back then.
and express mail and lo and behold there be 10 of the same part right there give it to the customer keep the customer happy well high points been good for that and high point there's a great series of videos out there man versus high point high point pistols high point rifles will eat any ammunition out there they are not persnickety they're very robust in that respect and they're simple so again is it is it a Cadillac nukes Pontiac
I never told you it was a Cadillac. It's a Pontiac. But for a person who's older, ladies or men, another thing is like the M1 carbine, ladies do like the rifle. It fits well. And it's not too heavy. The carbine was, you know, perfect niche weapon for a lot of, you know, older people or small people. The high point fits into the same category.
So I do recommend it. We bought some of the very, very, very first ones and nobody knew what a high point was. And if you look at many of our videos, you'll see high points from 20 years ago. Okay, actually no, correction, 30 years ago that we did. And you'll notice the high point is right there in front of the camera. And you know what? The weapon never malfunctioned. We never had a jam or a slippage or anything.
Out of the box, magazine in, live fire, pop, pop, pop, pop, pop, pop, work first time every time, continue to function. So it's serviceable enough for what it is. Not everybody needs a master craftsman tool, or I should say a high-end trade tool. A lot of the work we do is utility defense, and the high point serves that purpose. Also a great handout rifle.
So the thing taking a consideration if you want to do five of something on the rack Yeah, five high points would do you can buy five high points? In fact, you probably can make a deal with somebody where you can buy five nine millimeter high points for which you pay for one and a half air 15s Or is that the same gun? Okay. Well, no five five six is a very fine rifle with you know again greater performance But for a light rifle something I could hand out your lethal your effective high point would work
Are you going to complain if you show up bare butt naked with a towel wrapped around your hind end? And you've got to give me something. I've got to go kill Ching Lee. They just attacked my house and I barely got out with my life. Okay, I'm going to give you all the gear and here's a high point. You don't complain. Beggars can't be choosers. You're standing there with a bath towel. Next time, in the next five minutes, you're going to be wearing a full tactical uniform, full combat gear, and you're going to have a rifle and maybe a pistol on your hip.
I don't think you better complain. I think you better smile and be, you know, don't worry. Be happy. Let's see. Next, as far as we know, they're working down on that fire, by the way, down in Texas. Again, this is a deer park, which is near La Porte. It's a refinery. As I said, it was a
generator or secondary electrical building, but it is significant because of where it is. Needless to say, all fires are serious when you're on P.O.L.
and the fire marshal and other individuals, I believe the police chief was in another live feed, we're talking about the situation where they are right now. So they are working at moving it down, working it down as they go. They've been shutting down parts of the progressively other parts of the refinery to create a safety barrier. And the fire started at 3.54 Eastern Standard Time, which is 2.54 Central.
And again, it was the location of the fire is at 225 and Center Street. And that's down in Deer Park, Texas, which is right around the corner from La Porte, Texas. This is all down there in the, where they have the docking facilities off, you know, into the Gulf. And some of our listeners, I know we got one crew that's actually working the rigs down there all the time. We got a bunch of welders that are listening.
One of the toughest jobs in the Gulf is radio station and drilling rig repair, welding repair. They're constantly on the move. They're constantly fixing stuff. Saltwater is not forgiving. And again, the storms come and go. So I want to say hi to you guys down there. I've been longtime listeners. We appreciate that. Anyway, so again, the fire is controlled. They are working it down.

First of all, most radio stations, not all, but most, buy what is basically a music block from Hollywood. In fact, here there's, I've mentioned this many times, when we were really starting to put Republic Radio up years ago, of course you have different people contacting you, and one of the things that they noticed is that we were playing music. They have a contract feed and these contract feeds are set up. So I guarantee if you were, you know, caller, if you were written, you know, W, you know, X, Y, L out of, you know, 1600 or 1400 a.m. out of Schmidlattburg, anywhere within you, your normal broadcasting range under your license, if I sell you a package, I guarantee nobody will hear the same lineup of music.
identical at the same time that you're playing yours. What's funny is that these contracts are based on FM or AM broadcasting range under the license like you have a million walk FM. Well they guarantee that none of the other competitors
who might have 80's classic rock will have the same lineup because they set up different combination feeds and they send them out by satellite or they send them out by hard line out to the radio station. They don't have records or tapes anymore. Sadly that's not how it works anymore. It works more like this.
You can find it like Kiss FM or Rock, whatever point on your radio station. They're all part of these affiliate things. Just like the Walmart has its own radio station that's streamed to them. It's the same thing. There's a radio station in California or a recording studio in California, Motown up in Michigan, a place like that, and they pump audio out.
And the DJ, what would be a DJ, the personality there that announces the music has got a list of what's coming up and they can tell you what's playing and they even have pre-scripted commentary that they get to read about it. So you can drive across country nowadays and find exactly the same thing. In fact, most radio stations have a slight variation of the name, but it's the same
It is the exact same audio. It is cookie cutter, it's cheap, and they don't have to pay people as much. That's why they do that. Right. Well, that's the difference. In the past, they had this contract arrangement. But that's what I was getting to. One of the things that's happened is everybody's gotten lazy. And the other consideration is this.
Well, there's three windows of music, say, from 1990 through to present day where you have a window of actual, dynamic, interesting music. But it's like I've said, there's always had this sine wave going where you get to this peak point with a whole bunch of really phenomenal performers. The engineering is cool. And I think they intentionally flatten out the game. I think that they frag it from inside.
And they push it because it's the idea of being edgy. Okay, it's edgy. It's like I said, we should be pushing right now, talking to people, young people especially that, you know, the edgy thing is not to be the usual poof to queer. You know, that's all the mainstream media now, is poof to queerism slash whatever. Now you want to be hardcore, patriot.
You want to be pro-American? That's edgy. You want to be part of the Rebel crew? The Rebel crew are the patriots. The Rebel crew are the people who are for the Bill of Rights. The Rebel crew are the same Rebel crew from 1775. And this is why, like you said, it seems like this stuff is from the 80s window for most. And like Ed said, what's happened is they've gotten totally lazy now.
It's not like they were coy about trying to make you sound like you were an independent station doing your own thing. And one of the things that, as is pointed out, you came to say, we're going to have a call in. And here's what they do. It used to be, I could call in, and you could call into a radio station. And you could say, I want to hear some Pink Floyd, Dark Side of the Moon. Can you play Time?
And I'll tell you what, I'll fit that in the schedule. The last 15 minutes, it'll be just before the bottom of the hour. How's that sound? Okay, cool, thanks. Okay, see you in a minute. Bye, quick. And at 15 minutes or 17 minutes after, time would show up.
Now you call into a station that claims that they're doing requests and it's, hi, how you doing? This is, you know, Schmidlap 402. Oh yeah, hey, I want to, this is like Pink Floyd. I'll tell you what, what do you want to hear? Well, uh, uh, Dark Side of the Moon, Time. Well, I'll tell you what, in the next half hour, and meanwhile, like Ed said, he's pe, he's looking at us, he's printout. We're going to play some Pink Floyd. Well, wait a minute, I mean, like, eh.
And no, it wasn't what you requested, but he did tell you the truth in the next 20 minutes, there's a Pink Floyd piece up there. Ain't nothing like what you wanted to hear or anything like you're requesting. So you didn't have any real interaction. But the idea is you're supposed to be kind of brain dead on government psychotropics. So you'll probably forget between the time you requested and the time they play it, what you actually asked for. It does take a lot of work to be a DJ and actually do the work.

But like when you're running a small operation like LTR, I've had that complaint too that the music is when we're not able to sit here and be live, the music's on an auto playlist. The mainstream media is doing the exact same thing, but their playlist is smaller. Their playlist is shorter. They can only play X songs on each station, you know. So...
Yeah, and it'll usually be the latest top thing that whatever their record label is trying to push if it's a modern station and if it's not they're locked into like record contracts with like the Now CD people which I'm amazed you know they're still making Now CDs dad like for each year They still put those damn things out Which is not a bad thing because you actually end up with a good potpourri
you know, to throw into a music mix if you need to. But it's the idea that, again, this is the industry and how much it's changed. But what I enjoyed, I've always had fun, like I've said, sculpting if we were doing like music.
is sculpting it and trying to line it up. The big challenge of being a DJ and doing live is being able to slide the music from one piece to the next with no definition that you even change the music. In other words, you don't even want the record. You only want the record skip where you got the space. If you're running a label, regular record, you want to line it up so that you have two or three players, maybe a disc player and you also got a cassette player.
And each one's cued up with music you pulled from each subject. And what you do is, even as you're tapping the play, you run the fader up on the cassette, you run the fader down on the wheel you're on on the disc, and it sounds like it just totally, it's copacetic in bonds. And the other thing about that...
I was going to say, think about the scam that they're doing too, because a lot of that is when you do hear a fade in and out, a lot of that's automated. There's maybe a sound engineer who does some of their ad work, but once that's done, it's set in stone.
until they get another ad and whatnot. A small person like me running Liberty Tree Radio the way we do, we only ask for about $2,000 a year. We may have to do three this year because of the new website. That billing cycle is coming up. We'll be starting the fundraiser in July like we normally do. But these companies are considered, you know,
million dollar, $900,000 companies that are doing this, and it is, they're relying so much on the computer to do so much of the work, and they're still getting paid the same amount of money that they would before, when they could really step back, cut back costs, and do things this way. But what they've done is they haven't cut their costs, they've cut the people out.
and they're paying themselves the money, a bigger portion of the paycheck that was before the studios, like I said, out of California. I can't remember where the one is, the specific name of the one out of California that I know, but I do know Motown has got the record label up there with Dr. Dre and the one that produces M&M. They produce some of these audio blocks that are streamed out to these radio stations. That's why it's like, you want that Motown sound, you'll hear it all the way across the country now.

I mean hard rock Station and I requested for whom the bell tolls from Metallica and they didn't have it
They said, well, we don't have that. We don't have that song. And I was like, really? And I said, you guys are hard rock and you don't have metallicas from the Velcro? There you go. Yeah. Go ahead. Come on. Well, the philosophy of you will own nothing and you'll be happy. Some of these corporations are already living by that. You know, it used to be, and Dad knows, we have a huge, between me and Dad, we have this massive music collection that he started and I continued on.
And I have some of it down here with me. He's got some of it up here with up there with him. We've made copies of it and sent it back and forth. You go into a radio studio and they don't have that anymore. You've got computers. You've got a computer that's linked to the company that's there and they can only play what's on their computer, what's available through their computers playlist was programmed into their thing. That way they can click it.
and it automatically goes, that's it, it's done. But they don't have the physical copy. So once that's cycled out of their system, they either have to wait for it to cycle back into their system or God forbid they actually have to do the work and figure out how to fit it into their programming, which they're not gonna do because they don't have anybody who has a clue on how to do that anymore.
Didn't Tom Petty have a song about that so that's the end of the disc jockey or something like that last DJ. There's a last yeah I'll tell you what you've got it there. I think still I do somewhere I don't play a lot of Tom Petty anymore though because well Won't back down and he did back down so before the end of his life, which was on a place again It's still a good song

That's the other thing to remember is a lot of the musicians, they're on the no play list because they're not in line with the present weezer, whiner, pissy, you know, attitude thing. And of course they hate Americana. They're pushing for the globalist, you know, weezer, whiner, cut your penis off, chop your breasts off agenda.
And so the music of America, the Americana rock or Americana country, or take your pick, all of the country western that I grew up with, or that I remember, it's not what I always listened to, but my family was into music. My aunts and uncles played in Nashville. I had mentioned this before, my aunt Ruby, she cut at least seven records in Nashville while I was growing up.

But as far as what I'm interested in or inspired by, it's very different. As far as the music goes, I understand how music works as a tool.
You brought something else up. You'll badly probably never see in America again live music done from the studio on air. You have you have you kind of have that with like some of the talk shows to have the bands in the background, but even that's canned.
Most of those shows that you see have been pre-recorded, so if there was a flub up or something, they'd dub the audio over. You don't get to hear live music like, say, Pink Floyd or... Oh, come on. Johnny Cash, all day in the radio studio, doing an interview and just jamming. They don't do that anymore, which is sad. That is really sad as far as music goes.
Well, it could be, I won't say so much, it could be brought back, but what it means is somebody has to commit to the resources and most people haven't thought that way. What's interesting is any of the ideas we're bumping, throwing out there at you guys, any place where it's been implemented, guys, it takes off like fire on gasoline.
It's like classic radio, forgive me, classic epic drama radio. How did Liberty Tree Radio start out? With a micro FM playing part of my collections and stuff that we put together from old radio programs. And you know what's funny? Is people actually were paying attention.
They actually noticed when an episode was missing. Yeah, the Batman Superman radio serial. I still get emails asking me if I ever found that episode. Because it was destroyed in the studio vault. I also have probably close to 500 to 600 VHS tapes. But I also have beyond that, probably another several hundred records. And they're all from different eras. In some cases with the CDs, people paid a fortune for these things. If you paid a fortune for something, why did you let somebody talk you out of that money that you spent with something that won't go stale, it can't go bad? Of the bunch, CD is fantastic for storage.
