Well then the ATF changed their mind and now they're illegal and they want people in their minds because they can't make law. But now they want all of these people to file the proper paperwork and register them under the NFA. And this bill would stop that. Here on the screen is the bill. It is short. I will read it to you in its entirety. And thank you to Representative Good of Virginia, it says, the short title, this act may be cited as the protecting individual sovereignty through our laws act or the pistol act. And it says it would amend. the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to read as follows when it comes to rifle. The term rifle means a weapon originally designed or redesigned, made or remade, and originally intended by its maker or manufacturer to be fired from the shoulder and designed or redesigned and made or remade to use the energy of the explosive in a fixed cartridge to fire only a single projectile through a rifled bore for each single pull of the trigger, and shall include any such weapon which may be readily restored to fire a fixed cartridge. For purposes of the preceding sentence, such term shall not include a pistol equipped with a rear brace or rear attachment, which can be used to assist the shooter in controlling the pistol, even if such brace or attachment can also be placed against the shoulder. The next section updated pistol definition under Code of Federal Regulations. It says, within 60 days of the date of the enactment of this section, the Attorney General shall amend subpart B of Part 479, subchapter B of chapter 2 of title 27 Code of Federal Regulations to clarify that a pistol has the following definition. A pistol is a concealable weapon originally designed, made, and intended to fire a projectile or bullet from one or more barrels when held by a user and having a chamber that is an integral part of or permanently aligned with a bore and be one or more short stocks designed to be gripped by the user with said stocks at an angle to and extending below the line of the bore. The presence or absence of rear mounted braces or attachments which can assist a user in controlling the pistol shall not cause a firearm that otherwise meets this definition from being considered a pistol. Very plainly, the congressional definition, Congress is the only people, or are the only people, who have the constitutional power to create or make changes to law, ATF. Have you ever heard that before? Just checking. This would... correctly changed the definition of rifle and pistol so that these items that people who've had for a decade are not going to get people turned into felons overnight. 40 million items is a lot for someone just to have a hair across their high knee because the sniffer in charge told them to do it. Well, we know one of the reasons they did it for Trump was to try, hopefully, to get him on charges and maybe he can't run for election again. Well, maybe they're doing the same thing for Biden. In other words, because of the cognitive decline of our decomposer in chief, And the media's refusal to even really look at that, for the most part, most of the mainstream media doesn't even show you those clips that you can see on YouTube or whatever, of him making all these extreme mental gaffes. Well, maybe they're looking for a way, a safe way out for Biden to not run in 2024. And not having to mention deal at all with the whole mental thing. age and the mental things. In other words, make it to where Biden is feared in a different way to say a face about what's been already been going on for the last two years with his mind. That seems like a very logical conclusion. I'm very much on board with that. And that seems like a good analogy what's really going on to me. That's just my personal opinion. I don't have any proof of this, but apparently also according to Fox, Tucker Carlson was one of them that was doing the story. Apparently, and I have not checked out his facts, apparently the documents were known about to the who's investigating the FBI or who's investigating, I can't even remember now, which department, Department of Justice. The documents were known about before the midterm elections even. the documents that they're talking about, Greg, can you hear me? Yeah, go ahead. Yeah, they knew before the election, that's the thing, the request to return them was before, but those were the ones that they got back since they've been doing the investigation. They found more that they didn't know about that. He took his VP under Obama. So this is how long he's had him out. Just like with Trump, he had a order to return him and they're making it sound like, oh, but he returned him as soon as he got the, got the notice to return him. No, they just like, just like Trump. Okay. When he went out of office, they do an inventory. They can see what was there, what wasn't there. You know, it's the federal archive. That's what they're supposed to do. They keep tracking that paperwork. Um, and they made this request. after Biden's administration while Trump was in office and by Nick Gordon. He's ignored it this whole time. And what do you think? I'm fortunate. Apparently, I came into her life at just the right time when I met Shelly, and I'm one of the few things that she remembers. It's like I'm one of the newer things that she remembers. I'm blessed with that. But you can't run a country if you can't communicate. That's why it makes no sense for Federman. Yeah, he can understand you if he has a teleprompter in front of you. He can understand your questions better. But who's translating the teleprompter from him to you because he doesn't speak right? And you can find that on the White House website. I can't remember what it's called, but the acronym is DNA is what they came up with for it. North American Declaration, I think, yeah, that's what it stands for. North American Declaration. Well, it's interesting, of course, the Democrats would get the reason behind it is found because, frankly, yeah, if they have Biden in there running again, they got serious problems as a choice for the candidate for the Democratic Party. So to find the same way to get it removed or to have them bow down would make sense in my mind. So so that but he's already said he's going to run again. They don't like that. They could be trying to shame him out of it by saying, oh, look at this. Now we can say that, you know, you can't run because of this. But you know what? Right now he's the sitting president and presidents have done this before he can pardon himself. Yeah. And he but then also all this was the analysis of him running again was before all this new stuff came up new to us because they finally told us about it in the media about the documents being found. But that raises another serious question of course is additionally and now it just doesn't have to be but traditionally if the president is running because usually after a second term president of course this is a one term president right now but after a second term president traditionally the vice president is the one that Democratic ticket now. So they're gonna do something to her too to make sure she doesn't get the ticket. Of course, she's doing it to herself, but frankly, they're gonna have to find a safe way for her to remove too, so they can bring somebody in like a Newsome, the California governor or whoever they think can beat Trump or whoever's gonna be the Republican candidate. So you're gonna have to get rid of both of them. This is the way I see it, cuz it's certainly not gonna win, no matter who runs against that woman, they're gonna have a serious problem in their hand getting anybody elected in the presidency. The problem with that, what Democrat are you going to put up there that's going to have the name pulled? I mean, they put all their major runners in the background and used them to pump up these two. But who is left that has name recognition to stand up on the Democrat side? Who is the next Democrat? That's what I'm saying. Who is the next Democratic leader? As far as Trump, if Trump didn't run, you can name off like, oh, the guy in Florida. down here in Texas could run for president and have a good chance. Oh, come on. The governor in Florida, I'm drawing a blank on his name. It should come to me. Me too. I know you're talking about them. Yeah, he's been, he's been the one the press have been naming. And the Democrats signed the one they've been naming as a third possible candidate is Newsom, a governor of California. However, He's destroying California. So I don't know why they would even consider putting him up on the ballot But Newsom is the one that I hear on this the mainstream press all the time as being a possible Democratic candidate But then it seemed like a disaster too So we're gonna get Hillary back. What are they gonna do? They really got nothing. It's really really a bad I think even if you could even like Ted Cruz might stand a chance, but Ted Cruz has been, you know, weaselly. Well, yeah, but what I'm saying is, it's like if Trump wasn't running, you know, you could these are the names that come to mind because they're the Republican leaders that have been in the news. But they have really they're looking at a serious downfall there and then take the year and a half when it comes time to start. getting candidates on the ballot. So, so we've had the Democrats are basically dead in the water unless somebody comes up magically and who knows what the kind of tricks are going to pull. You might have something like, something completely out of blue, like let's say Oprah becomes a Democratic candidate and she possibly could win against each other just because of her name. I mean, something stupid like that might happen, but Biden and what's her name, Harris, are like dead ends. They're complete logos. And Newsom would be almost as bad as the first two. In my opinion, just based on what he's been, well, of course, California has been destroying itself for decades. Newsom certainly isn't helping anybody, the things that he's done since he's been a California governor. So it's been- What state are people running from and they know it? Why has Florida and Texas population gone up? Because people are running from the Soviet state of California. They're running from there and they know who is running. you think they're gonna put him back in power? Now, some of them are dumb enough, they could. I can tell you that from experience from going to Austin to see, you know, my steps on Cody. Going down to Austin, it is sleuth. You will find people from California that have moved there who thinks that what happened in California, even though they left it to get away from the taxes and everything else, the crime and everything's going on down there, they wanna make Texas like California. It's like you remember why you left the Union. They want to make it the Union Socialist Republic of Texas. That's what they want to do. And there are pockets consider like that in Texas. Austin, the capital of Texas is one of them. They've got really draconian laws in that city that are just have you seen the probably have on YouTube. There's there's a channel called Babylon B. And they have a couple of videos about people that have moved from... Yeah, yeah, I've had... ...the Ebelambias, their video side of their satire news site. Their satire... Right, I think they... I think I've seen three episodes of this couple that moved from California to Texas. I think I've seen three episodes. Maybe not anymore, but there's at least three of them that I know of. Mm-hmm. But, anyway, I thought those were pretty funny. And while you're on the phone here, I did look up, because I was curious about it. And I'm not, you were right, so I'm not, I'm not, this is not countering anything you said last time I was on the air about the parlor gun and the parlor itself. Because I did look up these because I was curious about the parlor gun and the parlor and its uses and when it was used and how it came about. And oh boy, I seem to have lost my, okay, here it is. The parlor, You entered it only rarely and you weren't meant to be comfortable there, but every house had to have one no matter how high the cost. The parlor really in the 18th century, wait, maybe we should check this right here, 19th century, I'm sorry. No room in the American home in the 19th century was more tenderly cared for, fussed over or jealously protected. No room came in for more abuse and criticism. It was once the highly polished apple of the household's eye, the butt of rude jokes, the pride of the family, and the target of an architect and domestic reformer. It was the upholsterers and decorators goldmine, and by the same token, the bottomless pit is the family budget. It set husband against wife, daughter against father, and swain against maiden. It was a chamber of horrors for restless children, a rack of boredom, for tired men at a family chapel for sanctification of the household layers and penings. So Parler's room is a room you could have conversation not only derived from the French verb parler, but took its heirs and graces from what was called the early part of the last century, the French taste. In polite urban circles, anything French was considered more fashionable than anything English. And it was not until late in the century when the word parlor had become the butt of reekle and rich Americans were buying titled Englishmen and husbands and for their daughters in the British expression drawing room that came into polite usage in America. In general, the parlor meant a room set apart for formal occasions for entertaining acquaintances rather than intimate friends and clergymen on their rounds. of parish calls. And somewhere else I had a list of things that were...part of the room was used for funerals, get-togethers, more ornate. I'm trying to think of the word. I'm trying to think here. I don't see it here on the text. But a formal room, it was basically closed off for most part. You rarely used it. Now the parlor gun which had talked about less on the last time we talked about this because the reason I'm bringing this up is if you work with me last time the House I'm rebuilding is is probably from Probably just after the Civil War. I'm guessing I'm guessing 1870s 1880s, but I have not gone to the county to look it up yet, and I really don't know But it had it had a nursery there. There's a room There's bedrooms With doors, but there's one bedroom that has that you have to go through to get to another bedroom what we would call a bedroom none of them have closets but It's a bedroom size. It's like 11 foot by 13 foot And they would they would prefer that to the nursery was generally a room You had you had to pass through the main the master bedroom to get to another bedroom Which was called the nursery and that was where the top were there the children were brought up from the nursery And that was traditional in old houses in this country, as was the parlors. The parlors, usually downstairs, a formal room, usually right off, somewhere near the front of the house, off the main entrance to the house. And it would usually have double doors closed at close. A lot of times it would be glass, glass in the doors. And they'd have curtains and it'd be a formal room. And that was where somebody died in the family. They'd bring the casket in and we'd sit right in the middle of parlor and people would come and pay their respects. And so it was a formal room that was pretty much used only for rare occasions. And the parlor gun, I looked that up because I'd brought this up and I'd never heard of this. According to the article I have here, it had many names. They were very similar, all these particular guns, I'm going to list here, gallery gun, plumber gun, parlor gun, and saloon gun, were all types of firearmers designed for recreational indoor target shooting. These guns were developed in 1845 when French inventor Louis Nicolas Flaubert created the first room fire metallic cartridge by modifying a precision cap to hold a small lead bullet. In the 19th century, gallery guns were typically pump action rifles chambered with 22 short. When we've never seen a 22 short, it's like the half the length of a 22 long rifle. It's a 22 caliber. It's very short. It's almost like a pellet gun. It barely can penetrate the skin unless you're very jealous. are what more people are familiar with for parlor guns, either a double or they even made revolvers. I'm getting to that. Gallery guns are still manufactured, although by the late 20th century they have been equipped by air guns for the purpose of indoor shooting. So gallery guns are small bore, single shot, pump action rifles, typically favored in 22 short. Some of the more popular guns are Winchester Model 1890 Colt Lighten carbine, Gev Arm open bolt. I'm not much of a gun guy so I'm sure somebody will easily correct me if I'm pronouncing this wrong. And the Winchester Model 62. Home shooting parlors and galleries began to decline by the early 20th century. However, gallery guns went on to be used in shooting galleries in carnival, stairs, and amusement parks. By the late 20th century, gallery guns had been equipped by air guns for the purpose of indoor shooting. Gallery guns are still manufactured, although they are primarily used for plinking and small game hunting. Now the flowbert guns, there's four categories of guns here. Gallery guns, flowbert guns, parlor pistols, saloon guns. Frenchman Louis Nicholas Flaubert invented the first rimfire metallic cartridge in 1845. The 6mm Flaubert cartridge consisted of a precision cap with a bullet attached to the top. These cartridges do not contain any powder. The only propellant substance contained in the cartridge is the precision cap, percussion cap. In Europe, the 22BB cap, the only introduced in 1845, and the slightly more powerful 22CB cap introduced in 1888, are both called 6mm flowbird and are considered the same cartridge. These cartridges have relatively low muzzle velocity and around 700 feet per second. to 800 feet per second, between 700 and 800 feet per second. Flaubert also made what is called parlor guns for this cartridge as these rifles and pistols were designed to be shot in indoor shooting parlors in large homes. Now moving on to the parlor pistols. Parlor pistols came into fashion in the mid 19th century. They typically featured heavy barrels and were chambered in small caliber. They were used for target shooting in homes with a dedicated parlor or gallery for this purpose. The Remington Rider single shot pistol was one of the better known American made parlor guns. No mention in this article of Derringer's. I'm not saying you're wrong. I don't know. The information you got is from online from a website, right? Yeah. I would rather go with what your book says. And even then you gotta be careful, or a museum, but even then you gotta be careful because a lot of museums and stuff are being sanitized. Like, you can go to the Henry Ford Museum and see the Henry Ford Model A that's designed to run on vegetable oil. Guys, it was not designed to run on vegetable oil, it was designed to run on hemp oil. They sanitize that because they don't want Henry Ford Museum associated with hemp. Because that's marijuana. There's some stupid stuff that has been happening in recent time where they have changed parts of history to make it politically correct, which is so stupid. Anyway, go ahead, Greg. Yeah, this information is very, very basic. I agree. And it's just off the end that a saloon gun is the last category that they're calling. The saloon guns were smoothbore weapons that fired 6-millimeter flowbert rounds again. You can refer to large caliber firearms made to shoot a smaller caliber round in indoor shooting galleries by use of a chamber insert called a Morris tube. The Morris tube was shaped to the cartridge that the weapon was capable of firing and inside this tube was a smaller for the round, typically a .255 Morris to fit. Well, those four types of guns were developed more than 100 years ago for indoor shooting basically right around the time the rimfire rounds came into play. And so I didn't want to spend a whole hour on this because frankly I don't know enough about guns. I'm just getting some basics. But this does reinforce what Ed said last time about parlor guns being shot inside parlors. I remember. But it was interesting and the parlor and the nursery are two rooms that just really don't exist in our language today. A formal living room might be the existence of a parlor today or a kids room in essence would be the baby's room, the nursery. But we don't really have that type of room today. And I don't think I've seen any modern houses built where you had to pass through the master bedroom to get to a kid's room, just a baby's room. I don't believe I've seen that in any kind of recent architecture. But it was a big thing back around the time this house was built that I've been working on. And the reason I'm doing these other weird topics on the show right now is just because I haven't had the time to do a lot of research because I've been so busy with this project right now. I'm doing rough in electrical and also putting in furring strips for the ceiling because these older houses, and I explained this last time, it's a balloon frame house. The studs are the full two inches by five inches, full five inches. and they're 12 inches on center and they're 20 foot long. It's two story, the lower story is 10 foot and the upper story is nine foot. So these boards aren't really exactly straight and when they put them on the ceiling... a little bit better than the day that Ed and I talked about this last time where we had logs used. These were cut lumber and you could tell by the saw cuts on them. It's rough cut and you could tell the blade must have been about six feet big, six feet across, five to six feet because of the diameter of the cut, the curve marks, the saw marks on the lumber. But they didn't kill and dry it and it was basically, it goes all over the place. So I'm measuring with a modern laser on the ceiling to put up drywall and I'm seeing from joists to joists or ceiling joists to ceiling joists, three quarters of an inch of play, of up and down movement of, not play, of discrepancy between one joist to another and in fact in the same joist you'll measure like three quarters of an inch up and down, up and down, all the way across the ceiling joists in the 13 foot span. So you can't really put drywall on that kind of thing. Back then it was plaster and lap. Laughter and lap is only an inch and a quarter wide, an inch and a half wide, something like that. And so you can follow the contours of the joints that went all over the place or stud that went all over the place. And the plaster itself can just put plaster thicker in places and make it go all a little bit flatter if you want to. So it wasn't a big deal then. There are a couple of ways that you can do that to make it easier on yourself Craig and I talked with a couple of people about this Since it is it's not a level It's not a level ceiling, but you can you can love there are a couple of ways you can makeshift level it One would be to put down plywood first. It's gonna lower your ceiling a little bit But you're in an ad you're in an attic space already lay plywood sheets down first and then put your drywall over it if you're intent on it. If the owner is intent on having drywall, that's one way you can give yourself a flat plane to work with, more or less because the drywall will, not the drywall, but the, well at least where you screw it into will give you a point to go on that's flat rather than trying to measure it across. The other thing, if you have the time, measure it, figure out what it is and make a wedge to fill the gap in between where you need it to. The shim would be, the shim would take longer to do. The up and down, one of the guys would just put another 2x4 next to it. Yeah, depending on how far the gap is. Some of the timbers were so bad that actually when the house was built, they would slap a piece of lath on certain areas of it to try to straighten off of the plane a little bit. They slap a piece of lath running parallel directly on the bottom of the ceiling doors, and then they put the lath in the opposite direction across. So in other words, shimming it out, like you were saying. I'll be doing a more modern approach with furring strips, one by three furring strips, and then having a shimmy. virtually every other moist sort of thing. Some shims might only be that eight or like quarter inch luen pie with pieces. Some places might be three quarter inch plywood. Just cutting little two by two squares to put in shims in various locations at the right thickness. Because for drywall you really have to have it fairly good plain, good use five-eighths drywall, 24 inch on center spacing of the of the furring strips. 24 inch dog spacing, you really do need pie based drywall. And you got to make it a fairly flat plane. You want that drywall to hug that wood good because any gap in there and any movement, you're going to be popping nails or screws. You typically use screws these days. But you're going to be popping a lot of screws of any kind of movement if you don't have that. that drywall basically pulled tight against that wood framing number. So that's a consideration you would have to take into account. Otherwise, you're going to have a lot of popping screws. The good thing about an old house like this is the lumber is already shrank as much as it's going to shrink. There's not any issue there. Whereas a new house... If it's not too bad with kiln dried lumber, but even kiln dried lumber, it will shrink a little bit. And when it shrinks, it can pop nails or the screw heads could start showing through. So I don't have that issue, but I'll be putting furring strips on with all kinds of shimming to try to get a relatively good plane. And even with the furring strip, the shimming that I'm going to be doing. The floor and the ceiling still sag. It still goes down probably about an inch in a 14-foot span, 13-foot span. And that's just the long-term creep of the lumber. Some of the studs, I was really surprised to find. I'm going to have to do a video about it before I start covering things up because I want to show, just as general show the people who might be wanting to renovate old houses, houses with this type of built construction. All the nails were cut nails, for instance. So I looked up to see when wire nails came about. Wire nails came out around 1850, but that does not mean that the house was built before 1850 because I'm sure cut nails were around probably for several decades afterwards. And cut nails actually have great advantages over wire nails. It's a really... If you have problems with splitting wood, try a cut nail one time. If the wood splits on you, and especially at the end of a board, try a cut nail and see what happens. You're going to find that you have a lot less problems with splitting. But anyway, their cut nails are hard to find these days. It's almost a special order thing. I don't even know if you can get them in a Home Depot or a place like that these days, but you can still get them. One thing I found with the studs, what they actually did in some place, because they were 20 foot long, Full tube and some of them were two inches wide but others are like two and three eighths wide They're just not consistent and they're 20 foot long. But what I found they did sometimes if they were getting too wavy And they weren't lining up. Well, what they actually did was they took a saw and of course, this was all handsaws in the day Handsaws and hammer and nails, you know and and folding wood, you know metal metals edged wood tape measures with not tape, folding rules. That's what they had back then. And I can tell they didn't use the folding rules too much. They didn't really care a whole lot with having things on center because I measure some studs and they're like 12 and a half inches on center. Other ones are like 10 and three quarters, just all over the place. So they didn't really have to because they had laughs. I mean, LAP did come in four foot lengths, so they kind of had to keep some things to where it's close to four feet and not go a little over four feet. But they didn't really do a lot of measuring. They just built a house with their folding rule and their hammers and handsaws. And I'd love to see how they frame such a bloom frame because I guess they would have to have scaffolding because they're erecting a 20 foot long board vertical and you got to connect the second floor to that. So it would be interesting to see how they did that. But anyway, what I found was some of the studs, there's about five of the studs in this house. Because of the way that wood was probably being cattywompy, they would actually cut through the stud about three-fourths of the way through the stud, horizontal, right through the stud, and you only have like an inch or three-quarter inch of it left, it's still intact. And they cut a saw curve so that the stud could now be straightened out, so to speak. And sometimes it was used to straighten it out to where they'd have to cut two saw curves to get it to go where they, in other words, close that gap. Other times they would drive a wedge in that curve, that saw cut, to try to get it to go the other way. And they did not. Sister on other would members I'm doing so they left it like that It was kind of interesting to me now with 12 inches on center and full two by fives a studs I'm sure that wasn't much of a concern and they and I didn't find any of them where there were two or three of them in a row a chase into each other But they would put these soft curves in them to straight to try to straight them up because if we're a two-story long tall stud I'm sure it was hard to get them to all line up right then that was that was just interesting to me Nowadays, a lot of the stuff I see nowadays, not only would we not do or even consider doing it because either being too expensive or too strange or against code or whatever, I would never consider doing a stud like that. That would be a stud that I reject. I use it for something else. I cut into shorter lengths for blocking or something. I wouldn't use a stud that was for boat building on a wall or ceiling or floor. But back then they used what they had. It was rather interesting. And then a big problem with these these types of houses, I probably should get talking about something else, but there's no wiring in this house when it was built. There's no plumbing in this house when it was built. No heating in this house when it was built other than a couple chimneys and wood stoves. You just had a hole in the floor of the second floor below this the wood stove downstairs and that's how you controlled the heat upstairs Where was I going with that? Oh the balloon framing Unfortunately, and I think this is pretty typical with all balloon frame houses the bottom of the stud ends up on the bottom of the top of the This case is an eight by eight timber a hand-yew timber And there's no way to get duct work or wiring or anything, all piping up into the walls without cutting through that eight by eight member. So it's an unfortunate thing. Now, wiring I can do, that's not a big deal to drill a hole all the way through and you're not going to compromise, but you try to get it like air conditioning and heating, HVAC duct. Through there you're not going to do it without having this really do a lot of structural damage to the house and redoing things in the basement to be able to get a duck through there. So the only way you can really do it is put it on the outside of the wall and then built in and box it in as it goes through the first floor and up to the second floor. So we're probably figuring out how we're going to do heating or plumbing because there's no bathroom upstairs. Right now the owner doesn't want to go through the expense. I'm doing any of that, so basically all I'm doing is I'm tearing out all the old plaster and lap. I'm wiring it up to fairly modern standards, including some 20 amp circuits and some 15 amp circuits, about every six feet, plugs, with a light switch and a light on each room, which it didn't have before, and a three way switch to the stairs. Other than that, just basic electrical. Enough of 20 amp circuits near each window, so if you want to hook an air conditioner up, powerful air conditioner, that doesn't become an issue and then the rest of it 15-amp circuits. So doing some wiring, some basic wiring, but we're not putting a heating system in. We're not putting closets in, which of course nowadays would be a must, but there's no closets in this house. And we're not doing any bathroom, any plumbing. You can't even run a piping up there without having to box it in strangely downstairs. Now, there is an addition to the back, which most old houses did when they started developing plumbing and electrical and all this started coming to the American market. And that's usually where all your bathrooms and kitchens and then that's when you brought wiring into the house. This had no wiring at all. Not even the old knob and tube. A lot of you may not know what I'm talking about, but some of the earliest wiring is knob and tube. And if you see a house like that, you really need to update it because those can become fire hazards pretty easily. But the wiring that is in the addition of this house is stuff with the fabric insulation, which is also kind of scary with no ground. I'm reluctant to even do anything with that. So we're putting it in modern circuit breaker downstairs with And all the new circuits are all grounded. So anyway, an interesting thing. Oh, and I probably should mention I did put a new YouTube video up on my channel actually more than a week ago and I've already had some response about it. I put it I had The basic story goes like this and I'm I guess I probably finish off the show with this. I I have about 30 trail cameras that I put up all around the property and because stealing trail cameras is a thing these days with people I have other cameras watching cameras up higher up in the hidden up in the trees higher up. We got to get a ladder to get to them. That doesn't mean they're not going to steal more of them by getting a ladder and going to steal them, but they may not more than likely not even see a lot of them. So especially the expensive cellular cameras that I have cellular trail cameras I have other cameras up in the trees looking down at it to safeguard if somebody steals it, hopefully I'll be able to either recognize or one of the neighbors will recognize who it is and we're bringing it to the sheriff and somebody hopefully would you know, hopefully do something about it. But anyway, one of the cameras I bought was if I can see, did I have the box? No, I don't have the box hand here. The brand name is Moultrie. It's a brand of trail camera. They have a lot of different models. And the particular one I had was the Model 180i. And I bought two of them off eBay. And the interesting thing about this camera is that it's three cameras in one. Sometimes you'll see a trail camera instead of just one lens and one sensor and one set of lights. The lights are usually infrared to where what I found is the deer don't even see them and because they walk right by them and it doesn't scare them because I have cameras watching cameras and I can see the light go on with the other camera, the camera that's up in the air. I can see the light go on, the deer walking right in front of the camera, the light going on in front of the deer and the deer doesn't run or anything, doesn't flinch. But anyway, there's three different types of infrared cameras. There's ones that are basically invisible to humans completely, and there's some others that have a little bit of a red glow that you can see at dark. You can't see a little bit. They're not blinding, certainly. You can just barely see them. But you can see that some of them glow. It depends on the frequency of the infrared. Anyway, this figure hammer had three lenses, three sensors, three sets of lights. The 180i, the 180 meaning 180 degrees. So you can actually make panoramic videos and, well not the videos, panoramic photos. Can do panoramic videos. It does do video, but it's three separate cameras with video. Whereas the panoramic photos can take all three at once and get a panoramic image. So anyway, I put two of these up and other cameras. These are fairly expensive. I put the other trail cameras up in the trees to watch those cameras because they're fairly expensive. If they're going to get stolen, those are the ones that are likely to get stolen first. Those and the cellular cameras. One of them had a high frequency pitch on the videos. A lot of these trail cameras have audio. although the deer don't really make any noise and sometimes there's things that go on that it's helpful to have audio as well. But anyway, the video has an audio track. And on one of these cameras it had a high-pitched tone, like maybe a 10,000 kilohertz tone, something like that, a high-pitched tone. And so that's weird, the other one's not doing it. But if the camera works, I wasn't too concerned about it because I really don't need audio. And I used it for two or three months and then it didn't work anymore. It didn't power on. When online, started looking at that model, figuring out, some people say, oh, just press this button and hold it for 10 seconds or 30 seconds or whatever. And I tried that, it didn't work. So it didn't power on. Whatever reason, tried new batteries, it didn't power on. So it's dead. So I said, okay, well, I bought them new. I had the box, looked at the box, two year warranty. Oh, cool. I'd only bought them that year, bought them last year. And okay, two year warranty, that's cool. E-mailed them on site. Again, this is Moultrie. Yeah, this is done within five minutes here. And I said, okay, I got this camera. Here's what it's doing, and I'd like to make a claim for a warranty. And they wrote me back, and after a couple times, and I said, oh, well, you bought them off eBay, they're not covered under warranty, buying them on eBay. So, oh, wait a minute, they're brand new in the box. I got both boxes here. I show you. I showed them on the camera, the video I did. got both boxes here. They're brand new in the box, never been used. Why aren't you authorized? Because it wasn't an authorized dealer, a multi-dealer. Now that seems stupid to me. I don't know, maybe I'm ignorant about why that should have to be, but they were bought off eBay, brand new, and they were in the box and it says right on the box, two-year warranty. And that's what I bought. I bought them in the box and it says two-year warranty. They weren't going to honor the warranty. Okay, so that sucks. So I decided to make a video. I said, well, somebody, I shouldn't have to take the hint on this. Somebody should be embarrassed over this. And it shouldn't be me. It should be the company. So I made a video. I have almost 20,000 subscribers. So I have a little bit of viewers. Enough of where maybe a company might be embarrassed and do something about it. You know what I mean? Kind of a consumer's advocate kind of thing. And I made a video explaining the situation that I just explained to you. And they emailed me, I showed exactly what they said on the email. And then I posted it and I sent them a link. After that last correspondence, I said, well, I hope you're proud of your warranty policy. And I put a link to the video in my response to the company. And after a few days, I heard back from them saying, oh, we're sorry, it was a mistake. a team member told you wrong or whatever. Because at first they asked me to send a link to, or send a receipt, send them a copy of the receipt. So I sent a PDF file of the eBay receipt that I got off of because I was still within a year. And so I made a PDF copy and sent it to them. And I said, oh, we made a mistake that team member was in error. So you bought it from a from an authorized dealer apparently they claimed that the dealer was a The eBay dealer now all sudden was a authorized dealer And so they're gonna honor the warranty now But see that's what it took in this case. Otherwise, they just okay screw you guy you're out you bought it off eBay you're screwed But I took a little further action and and I was being truthful everything on the video There's nothing they could real. I don't think there's anything they could do to remove the video either I showed the company name. I didn't show the name of any person in my response. I just read what the company spokesman said in return the email. Anyway, what I'm saying is if you watch the video, which is on forbid TV on YouTube, forbid spell the two D's, no space, forbid TV. This was this was I'm telling you what happened afterwards where the company said oh we're in error We're gonna we're gonna honor their warranty. So now they want me to this kind of weird But this is what they want me to do Instead of sending it back which okay got extra post and everything. I guess that's that's cool They want me to take a picture of it immersed in water with the door open. That's what they want to do So in other words, you get wet inside it's gonna be ruined and then what they then we know it's it's not good You're not trying to scam us. Okay, so I can do that. I'm done that yet, but I'll be doing that taking a picture of it immersed in water. Kind of dumb, but okay. And then I can use it as a dummy camera, a bait. Any camera that breaks is good for bait. Put it where it's very visible and then having your real camera looking down at the one that's no good. And put a nice note in there when they open up the battery compartment when they take it home. Hey, dude, you were filmed you stole a broken camera and you were still filmed anyway I suggest you don't trespass on the property further and and and and theft involved in what we're doing so I'll be getting a new camera, but only because I made that YouTube video And I may be doing something very similar with my phone because my phone does not work in my property anymore Hasn't for about six months. I'm really pissed off. They're not doing anything about it Unless it's the phone company, unless it's the phone manufacturer, like Apple was caught years ago, making their phones so it works less and less as the years go by. They try to get you to buy a new phone. And if that's going on, that's not the phone company, that's the company that made the phone, Motorola in this case. I had a couple of things I could just mention in one or two sentences that I was going to cover. You can look at them yourself. Greenland ice sheet. This is good for all you climate change fans. Greenland ice sheet warmest in at least 1,000 years. The scientists warn melting ice will accelerate sea level rise. Of course, they're blaming on climate change. There's another one blaming partially on climate change. Polar bear attacks and kills two people in remote Alaskan village. These are both stories from today, by the way, folks. And I guess that rarely happens where the polar bear is actually attacking with what climate change is known to know. Here's one that doesn't have anything to do with climate change that I was going to maybe talk about in Illinois. This is from the EPA website. There was a potential supply chain impacts from potassium and sodium permanganate plant fire. In Illinois, there was a chemical plant fire which destroyed part of this for the potential to make this chemical these two chemicals which treat water and treat and water treatment water. So we may be seeing some supply problems and maybe problems with municipal water supplies. The other two places we typically can get them from is India and China. And that might take some time and then there'll be issues there possibly. But we were supplying most of our let me see. Aside from the facility in LaSalle, Illinois, the caught fire, there are other domestic producers of phosphate-based corrosion control chemicals such as NFS, ILC specialty products, Hawkins Chemical Company. For centers of the market impacted by the damage, this facility is not available at this time, but will be updated when information comes available. The facility in LaSalle is the only producer of potassium permagenate and sodium pernovigaminate in the Western Hemisphere. While the US does import potassium permamannigate from India and China, primarily from India, most domestic demand is met by production from the facility in Illinois. The primary use of potassium and sodium permamannigate in the US is for US water treatment and US water supplies, accounting for more than 50% of domestic consumption. So anyway, a little forewarning there, we may start seeing some issues. So have your water treatment systems ready or way to boil water in case water supply systems become inept. And then we'll see. Maybe not. I'm not trying to fear a mauger. It's just this is something for 90 days. Apparently, according to their latest update today, the informed customer that is declaring a force majeure on his porous potassium for bannagate and sodium for bannagate products for approximately 90 days. So right now the company doesn't expect this situation to last more than 90 days. So anyway, something you just might want to look into, you might want to look at all those things you want because I don't have any more time. If you concentrate on those three points, the individual, but you know, everybody goes, well, I don't have anybody else. Because there are just too many people all on the same page and all you have to do is start tweaking, working them up a little bit. Again, you'll have to find out who's who in the zoo. But if you're patient, you can easily double your force. But if you are by yourself, then have you squared yourself completely away. Personal equipment, personal technology to keep yourself alive in all seasons. weapons, food, medical support for yourself to make sure that you've got what you need there. You write down the shopping list. The individual though can still be tuning himself up or her up quite effectively. A team though, means you get a chance to practice a very important thing that's part of that mechanism that makes things work. It's teamwork. Once you have a couple of people or a team, ideally a four or five man, five man will be best. I know that everybody tries to do the light duty four. That's only because we're short manpower. That's why that four man fire team came in. Plus there was only so much room on the APC's. Instead, five man infantry fire team, 10 man infantry squad. Okay. You develop five people, you work on how to understand how to move. How to communicate, again, how to operate in the field, what is necessary to stay functional in the field and deployed because you're not going on your, there's no checking out after eight hours. That is all part of what you can deal with right now. Now, if you get 10 men together, you've got first the individual to perfect, the fire team itself to perfect, but then you need to perfect the other fire team. And now you have a fire maneuver element that is the classic single building block. For any military force you want to construct. No the platoons and companies wrong Five-man fire team ten-man squad you get those two squared away you get that concept squared away And there's an anything you can't build with that formation that component you get the basics down remember master the basics You give me four ten-man fire teams. I don't care how each one of them is trained Even some might be an 11 man or a 12 man depending upon what era of development the group might embrace. For that matter, you might have a Marine configured three three man fire teams with a squad leader making 10 men. Three three three man fire teams. Yeah, Marine Corps, early World War II. In the Marine Corps, just as a heads up on that, the Marines went with riflemen. submachine gun and an automatic rifleman in each fire team and there were three men to the team. How many of you know that? I do. That's the problem followed. Again, rifleman. The advantage of this is the rifleman, of course, is your marksman slash play shooter. The submachine gun obviously provides progressive sustained fire. The oppression or the suppression fire operator, the BAR operator or automatic rifleman is the reach out and touch somebody, but this creates a small, a tiny combined arms team. Short range, long range automatic fire, and long range intermediate, well, I should say short to intermediate to long range placement rifle fire. Now, when the Marines put their weapons system together, they didn't have the Thompson. Nobody had enough Thompsons to hand out. They wanted Thompsons, but they went with the Reising submachine gun and the Jomsen automatic rifle. They had the BAR and they did have the Thompson in some units. But dominant in the very, very early stages of the war were the Reising submachine gun and 45 ACP, which kind of looks like a big 22 from a distance. It's like a big classic 1930s era Plinker 22, except with a big barrel, looks kind of weird. And it was a very simple gun to build simpler than the Thompson by far. I think you can probably build six or eight of the ricings for the price of one Thompson. It could have been built heavier, it could have been built tight, it could have been toughened up. But as it is, it was a stopgap weapon because the Marines could get enough firearms to actually outfit their units. where otherwise they'd be in competition with the Army for the Thompson. Although they still were. The Johnson rifle and the Johnson automatic rifle were another weapon system set of weapons that they embraced. And the rifleman carried the Johnson rifle, which was in 3006 obviously. And the Johnson automatic rifle, which is a magazine side magazine fed select fire equivalent to the BAR. Both weapons are very unique. The individual who designed them was another American. And when the weapons were replaced, they were handed over to other constabulary forces and to other defense forces. The weapons never went to waste. And in fact, after World War II, the Johnson rifle, some of them rechambered and many of them rechambered or built new in 7mm Mauser. were actually used in the Pacific by a number of different security forces designated by Holland. Okay, anyway, so any weapon system comparable will work. In other words, if you have a particular weapon that's embraced, that's the rifleman's weapon that works. If you have a light carbine, something that is in a pistol caliber, there's your submachine gun class of weapon. And then of course, in a Automatic riflemen's option would be something in a 308. It's called The Gorillas Guide to the Bofeng Radio. That's the gorillas, the gorillas to the Bo Fang radio and it's by NC scout. That's NC scout, just November Charlie scout. And it covers all the basics of how to operate the radio mark. It's got a auditory the back cover. So that way it gets kind of a grills guide to both things. Radio is a comprehensive volume on Not just operating one of the most common radios in the world, but understanding the operating practices for use in an austere environment, including tactical and clandestine considerations with chapters on communication planning, improvised antennas made from common materials, digital operations and encryption. This manual is for anyone from beginners to well-seasoned radio experts and everyone in between. And it does cover Mark some topics. The gentleman that wrote the book is a U.S. Army Special Forces gentleman, and he runs, I guess, a training class out in North Carolina called Brush Beater Training. That's Brush Beater Training. So he has some classes and stuff. He also has a YouTube channel. If you look up Brush Beater Training on YouTube, you should be able to find it, I believe. And I talk about a... Now, someone put a comment, I bought this off, it's on Amazon, I know you don't prefer Amazon, but it is available on Amazon for about 25 bucks. But he covers clandestine communications, references to Afghanistan, how the Taliban were using their radios, not necessarily the UD-5R, but just communication in general, where they would just talk out the open, and they were able to track them down and basically using it like a cell phone. and not using it much less than just what you need to say or whatever. And that's it. Keep it short and sweet. But they were using on telephones and they were able to track them down and other stuff like that and covers how to program the radio and not necessarily put, save the frequencies, just write those down and covers what you do with, you would be doing for Tomo if you were on a patrol or whatever, how to make sure you set it up for that and then covers other like I said, digital operations and stuff like that. So this is catered towards the Bush movement basically. It does have a pretty good wealth of information. It's, let's see, over 100 pages long. Very good. And again, it's the Gorillaz guide to Balfang radios. Radio, radio or radios? Radio. Okay, just, okay, good. One person did bring up in the in the reviews of the for this book. It says well, obviously that CC implemented when the low fang radios were coming in that they could not have the Where you could basically hold a couple buttons and you could open the frequencies up to cover FRS or GR met MS Frequencies, I believe those the newer radios do not have that. I'm not a hundred percent I've got two of the older style when they first come in I'm not sure if the newer ones, you can only monitor those frequencies, but you cannot transmit on those. So I'm not 100% on that market that's still available. So. Right. Assume the worst because again, like I said, when they were doing that, they proposed it. Step one is they sell out what they have while they're selling it out. They're finishing up parts in the factory. They'll use up what's left. They're allowed to do that. So there's usually a transition model where they use the same board, but they take the components and either reprogram the microchip or they take the components out that complete that particular element, that leg of a circuit that might be needed. The neat thing is if you have the middle ones, you can actually take the components, introduce them to the motherboard and open it back up so it does what the original radio did. But the more recent ones would have the next step in the motherboard where it would have anything that would allow you to bridge over to the old pattern. Either it would not be, it may not be drilled. It may be on the circuit board, but it may not be drilled. Here's what's interesting. everything you need might be there as far as what you need on the motherboard to connect everything, but they don't drill the holes. They just leave it, you know, circuit board, you know, circuit born ready to go. So the neat thing is that even if you get the newest model, if you can look at the circuit board, compare notes with an original, then if you have a master list, what you do is you buy the components and you can actually even open up the newer ones, but you'll have to drill your station points for all of your solder, all of your bridges, all of your bar points. So it's pretty straightforward. However, they tiny radios, and so I would get willing to bet that at least 25% of whatever needs to be done is actual onboard software programming for the microchip, the microprocessor onboard, whatever's there, or processors, because there could be more than one.
