And because of that, we have a very interesting battlefield here that is going to be quite consistently developing as we go. i think what's going to be interesting about this is that again a lot of people are just finished with uh... you know conversation or having any discussion with these characters in any way shape or form and rightly so there's no where do you go with this what what kind of conversation do you have with the backed up toilet these characters virtually ignore every aspect of anything that was you know shove down your throat in the way of you know mandatory you must follow laws and we're now in a situation where none of this, you know, there is no relief on the horizon, there is no likelihood in any way, shape or form that this is going to get straightened out. This is going to go to, you know, the final aspect of, you know, we hit the shoals, the shipwreck is in place, they've protracted it while they've been, you know, ransacking the wreck, but holding it up or holding it bay, you know, with a tug or a line or whatever they've been doing, knowing that all we have to do is release the line and whatever limited relief there is that holding it at bay the wreck slips between me know beneath the waves between the rocks that's where we are with this so it is not a pretty much a pretty much telling you if if you don't take this you can't work you can't eat you can't you know can't be you can't travel freely they're even trying to say that you can't travel freely unless you have a vaccine really can't go down the road They start setting up roadblocks or checkpoints. And it's Hungarian military surplus camel bib overalls. These are in a woodland type pattern, so if you're a woodland unit, these things would blend in just fine with the rest of your team. A pant bib overall. Pants are a stupid price right now. I can't emphasize enough pants. If you see pants that fit you, buy them. If you go to a yard sale, you see something for 50 cents or a dollar and it's something that fits you, buy it. If it's pants especially, closer to the ground, more wear and tear. But guys, I've been in surplus for decades, for 9-40 plus years. This is 2021. For 40 years plus. Okay. And in that time, it's always been a balance. If you were to go to buy clothing, the tops are always the same price as the bottoms. Whatever it is. If it's a uniform or, you know, whatever, foreign uniforms, gray uniforms, green uniforms, camo, it doesn't make any difference. right now there is a disproportionate cost it's almost twice or three times as much for a pair of pants as it is for a shirt and in many cases the reason they're running the shirts are down to giveaway prices for a few things where they should be if they're overstocked but they're not even there they're they're average there are some good buys I've mentioned on the air but pants I don't care if it's blue jeans or if it's dungarees if it's any kind of bomb uh... work and if you could run into a backyard sales you see a stack of them and if you really want to help the cause if you've got a how much you want for the whole pile of the three bucks take them you like ten twenty thirty four pairs pants box them up can't about do something like women barrels i'm doing pants right now uh... stuff that will or may fit me down the road i'm all i'm a little bigger right now but that it gonna last especially as things are you know things are going so again i'm gonna figure one word of the so i'll be down to that size again with a very short period of time but for any of you that are listening to the hell of a by hongarian military surplus camel bib overall new size large only they're in stock to wear the clearance section of their fourteen eighty nine a pair that's more material to make a bit above that bib overall to begin with but that's a good overlap if you were a battle blouse then you're you've got good mid torso coverage uh... you know for uh... he control for you know especially since we're getting in the winter anyway uh... this is a good choice and definitely something worth picking up so it's a Hungarian military surplus camel bib overalls you guys all find before i get off the air i'd be happy i'd be to be fantastic i have a problem at all Hungarian military surplus camel bib overalls new size large fourteen eight on these are woodwind camel but they're in the hungarian woodland which has a little bit of an actual people pattern on it uh... otherwise from any distance it looks like you know the it matches up with your standard woodlands with any of your woodland you need more pants there's a solution good enough for what it's for specially that you're going to be pissed out of those are those are work pants Another thing that they have are German military surplus combat belts. These are stiff, standalone, and they're up to 2x, but they say they're running a little small, not a big deal, because 2x gives you a lot of extra space. A four-pack of those, German military surplus combat belt. This is a pant or utility combat pant belt for a couple of different types of cut clothing that the Germans had. It's actually the height, almost, of a regular pistol belt, and you can actually hook up gear to it. if you wanted to. Four pack for $10.79. So, $2.65 each, approximately, which is not bad. They're used, but they're in really good condition. I have a bunch of these. I recommend them for you. This is another 5.10 item where you put them, get the biggest ones they've got, because these are like the old US open-face belts. You can make them any size you want, but you can't glue more material to them. So get the biggest ones because they're the same price as the small ones. That way it'll fit anything you want to do. Okay? A lot of times the Germans took these and used them over their battle tunics or their combat smocks. The ones that go down to the thigh or almost to the knee, they'd use this as an outer belt. They'd wrap it around the outside, lock it into place, and put a few pieces of web gear on that, and you're ready to go. Not a big deal. But you cinch it up tight, too. That means you're going to suck it in. So anyway, both those are good items with those pants. I cannot emphasize enough their pants Bib overalls, you know the you're really getting a lot more material for the same price you pay Well, what less than what you're paying for any of the other BDU pants out there in any good size and these aren't large So if you're a large or smaller, that's what you buy Excuse me. Anyway, Larry go ahead anything else jump in there, please. We might have lost Larry for a minute as it is in addition to material equipment i want to remind everybody again we were talking about the motorola radio cities communications to pay by the way it may be we may have the same issue with the new new new can would uh... beware as i pointed out uh... motorola and several phone companies have gone to a a newer you know extra service blob up my ass what it comes down to his they have a they've gone with a different wider format plug which they did have a limited number of units but it was not popular it looks like the standard plug you're finding on all of the regular cell phones that were out for quite some time that's normal uh... and because those things were so standard a lot of other pieces of equipment have those types of power supply connectors uh... a lot of your radio side of it that i've got a set of motorola's i had to look at you guess what uh... the uh... the good thing is are the old format so the older standard uh... power supply plugs for uh... any of the uh... cell phones work with both the motorals that i have bought uh... one of our people did a bunch of bubbles of stop radios they got some of the motorals that's what was asking me on the air while we were talking about it a few weeks ago and he did get a hundred of the throat mic with the earpieces and what happened he ordered the right part now listen to this he ordered the right part there's no doubt about that they confirmed it at the other end even but the pickers grab the wrong box under just the assumption well it's you know for whatever reason they just grab the box that you know that's a power supply or that's a again in this case a mic set for the standard Motorola What it was is they picked the newer product which doesn't fit the standard older up until recently was the standard radio. Now, this is why you also want to do something else which is test something randomly that you have in a case when you buy things. Remember we talked about quality control. You do what the straw boss reaches in and grabs a cartridge randomly when you're reloading. and you do an autopsy on it. You check the powder, you do a spec, you take and break out the mic and you mic the length, you mic the width, you make sure the diameter, internal diameter is correct. You also inspect for primer set. Well, when you're doing something like this with brand new equipment, you grab one randomly, open up the box, go down a layer, pull one out, and open up the box, go to the radio equipment or whatever it is you're going to use, where they're copacetic, test and try to plug everything in. That way again, it's a random pick not just something off the top of the box Not that it would be any different because chances are if it's a whole case and it's sealed Which is what he bought basically a couple of them. I think What happened is they were the wrong mic, you know throat throat and earpiece mic combination the the male Component and the female are with the newer units are slightly larger slightly larger and a little flatter so they do not they are not copacetic with each other they won't inter they won't integrate one interface so he's down for however many days or a week or ten days and who knows what's going on right now waiting for those units to be replaced he has to she's going to ship them back they're already sending the other ones in the mail because they're apologizing but it's the idea that there's down time and you don't need that so uh... and even if they're in just in case thank goodness he checked rather than assuming you know so much better you and me uh... he is you know we can some people you just assume all about work i mean i got this model i got this model yep that's within the packing clip here uh... the big thing is that i'm sure that the the part number and the uh... nomenclature didn't match up so when he got it that should have been the indicator right there thought again sometimes your eyes gloss over all great i got the hundred mike so i got the hundred radios i got the extra charges got the game chargers i got everything it right here on the list and then it's on the shelf until you know the next meet up and everybody shows up in a start going out radios well in the meantime where it could have been there and back which is what thank god he did and he would have been down for the time that was sitting there when you didn't know was useful in fact it was useless and then the downtime still to turn around and get the product so we don't need that and again this is true again check your can would equipment out check any of your motorola's confirm which of the uh... standard power supply uh... fixtures is used with the unit and it should be identified in the description and if it's not than you make a call and i'm serious about that we're trying to find somebody who could speak english at the other end or at this time that may be working with the people at the other end and get an absolute confirmation that you've got what you need where it needs to be okay that's especially critical right now uh... and the other thing here again i mentioned motorola the bundle packs are really the way to go for a lot of you i've had people asking questions were they're looking at you know thirty forty fifty radios you've got no sixty or so many people are rotating i would point out that to re-dimension rotation is in a lot of situations You can just simply hot head or like hot racking. In other words, you have one bunk for two or three people and every eight hours you rotate out. Everybody changes the bedding, everybody jumps in the, you know, you remake the bed, you jump in, congratulations. That's what they do on ships. Not all, because sometimes some have more room than others, but typically they all hot rack and regular combat vessels. So the same is true with sharing radio equipment and that you bring in number one through 12. You have somebody do a quick inspection who is the radio geek or the radio tech They go through and look at everything inspect it since it's coming off off a patrol or a security detail and Everybody of course checks their power output What do you have available? What's what kind of juice is left and if necessary their parking plug and so many maybe Rotate it out or you may just rotate batteries and use a battery for just the batteries and then not recharge or use the gang charger for the radio itself uh... this means the radio gets turned around right away now you see more hours on a particular unit bought uh... you make ends meet if you don't have the money to do you know one hundred two hundred three other radios but you have so many people you know you'll be rotating into the field then you share all the critical tools now by the way this is traditionally how units used to work anyway When radio equipment was fewer and far between, even when they came up with the one-way outbound and one-way inbound radios, you typically traded them off in a cycle determined by the squad leader or the platoon leader. It was part of SOP, Standard Operating Procedure. It's just that either the squad leaders or the platoon leader gave the wink and the nod, and when it was time, you traded out so that somebody else became the short, close unit radio operator. uh... again some people only had received others had them to leave you only had so many radio headsets are radio sets one with an inboard outboard uh... each uh... what you would do is give the receiving to the infantry and give the fan to the team leader of the squad leader that's allowed to be a least usual equipment without shouting and uh... again all well situation where at least you could still put it to use uh... more people could receive instruction as needed it would be a we'd be able to spread the wealth out you already know what you said and you don't really need feedback if you're giving orders for motion so received one person the team leader sends and the other people all receive now this is another tricky you can use your micro f m radios in the long haul down the road your micro f m radios are perfect for being backpack reels twelve-volt fairly small uh... quite a few options for frequencies and everybody can be carrying a little walk man or whatever to be able to receive and everybody gets their instructions and nobody has to shout kind of nice works really well so heads up that is another solution in a situation where we're going to need them uh... another thing batteries batteries batteries and energy everybody out there we talked about this the tour block larry guys get a generator gets some kind of generator does not have to be expensive go watch craig list in face book up to what right now on face book i think there's a dozen small generators at the clear in the uh... uh... always not more forgive me in the uh... the sales that are coming up this weekend especially the estate bill from which are going out right now i could probably have gone out picked one up uh... earlier today i just would had conflict but the uh... prices are very reasonable if not pretty much almost give away they want to clear the place out So, whenever possible, if you're looking for a solution, you can check the estate sales and the yard sales. Right now, people are needing money. They're selling things they don't consider critical. Or maybe they have extras of, because somebody bought a newer generator, and they're going to take their two-year-old generator, which is so passé, and they're going to get rid of it. Take advantage of that. Now you're going to have to do the work to find out for sure if it's worthwhile and you're also going to dicker and, you know, a dicker and bicker on the price. That's your job. You figure out what you're going to pay for it. But right now, best thing you do, pick up a generator, make sure you got fuel, accoutrements, spare plugs, anything and everything, you can get in the way of spare parts that are reasonable and probably, again, perishable, replaceable, examples, park plug, filters. uh... if you do take points good idea to pick them up if you have brushes that you can get to replace what you need for the uh... the unit you want to pick those up uh... right down the shopping list the basics that are the paris balls the where points that's what need to be read ready to provide power for whatever you're going to be doing well another thing larry uh... satellite uh... phones we'd we're talking about that we had a little conversation I've got a suggestion. I've found these extremely handy out here. I've been off the grid since 1995, so I've been running solar power and generators and all that stuff since 1995. One thing I highly suggest is going out and finding some good solar lights. There are solar lights, some of them on sale at Menards and other places, like a motion sensing solar light, $24. lights up, you know, vassal lumens, pretty doggone bright. And then some of the other ones can be used as torches. You put it on that side and charge them up. They have solar floodlights, which I'm in the process of working on an interior of a home. And, you know, for 20 bucks you get this thing that lights up the whole doggone level. Yep, you know, so three of them, you can light up the whole doggone structure that I'm working on. there's a nice ones out there and they can be extremely useful act uh... again big lot and we have a place here called always and it turns out they actually have more than two stores i thought they were only a couple but they have quite a few more if you're listening in michigan always typically gets uh... tail end charlie's or whatever overruns of solar lighting like that and they have an excellent couple of uh... gang lights that are set up so that you can actually turn the fans on the outside and their motion sensor like you're talking about but they will literally turn the night and the day if you're looking at a situation where you have uh... an area you want to you know fill in protection for these are motion sensor they are solar rechargeable uh... we've used them extensively just like you have a larry and they work uh... anything is better than nothing number one But if you get the solar panel models, again, $9 for a less expensive model. But again, quality's not quite as high. All the way up to a little under 20 for some of the larger, more extensive, sophisticated units that are out there. But always, and also again, a big lot. Check them out. And then if you have any other distress doors, you need to check those. I have not found the quality of LED lights at big lots to be worth bothering with. They're not great, no. No, not great at all. I'd go to Menards or someplace like that. There's some decent ones out there the last couple of years. Replaceable batteries, replaceable nine cadmium batteries. Yeah, I've been doing that for years. As a matter of fact, again, remember we're getting to the end of the season and a lot of the companies, the artificial intelligence considers that a summer item. And so you're going to see maybe a few hiccups in price, which would be kind of cool. So always watch to see what's, you know, go look on the shelf to see what's sitting there. I know here in Indiana anyway, at least in Bloomington, and it usually follows in most of them but there is a unit that has two panels, 1000 lumens, and sensing and they're being discounted to like 24 bucks. That's a pretty good little unit so I mean good to alert you if somebody's coming, set it up with a ring. I'm not sure how a ring camera works. Don't you have to have Wi-Fi or something in order to be alerted by those I think but If you can get Wi-Fi and one of those cameras kick on, you can see what's going on around your home. They're pretty cool. Exactly. One of the other things about that, well, of course, you still can come up with other, when we're talking about noise, for instance, or sensor active units, there are just simply the motion sensors slash silent detectors that are designed for out by the driveway. You can set those up at different locations where you feel you might have what are out of sight threat areas. The driveway is pretty obvious, especially at night, if there's any kind of illumination. But remember, your enemy is going to be thinking about how can I approach the target without being seen. And what that typically means is that, again, they're going to try to find some access point. Meanwhile, they of course called the cops. Okay, well, let me interject this then there is an adapter that you can use you can take the five gallon propane tanks and Refill the one pound tanks by using this adapter So if you if you get a few of them and you need to refill them, yep emergency you can do this There is an adapter. I think is about 20 bucks little brass adapter that hooks up the five gallon propane tank you know you invert them and you pump you know how the liquid back in the that tank and they work again and it's priceless again well remember preserve and maintain the tank don't waste them and don't abuse them if you have to them put them on the shelf box them back up find a way to put them out of the way out of sight for the moment but mark where they are mark the container they go in And that's especially critical with the situation the way it is right now because it's, you know, in Aether Razor it's the blades.
