Mark Koernke discussed firearms availability, ammunition pricing, and preparedness on Weapons Wednesday. He reviewed rifle options including military surplus models and the challenges of obtaining ammunition due to currency devaluation and supply chain disruptions. The show covered tactical gear deals at Botash including discounted combat boots and clothing with internal padding, reloading supplies and die selection, and detailed technical discussion of firearm maintenance including proper sling usage for shooting stability. Koernke also addressed screw thread standards across different firearm manufacturers and emphasized the importance of using correct parts from established inventories rather than improvising with hardware store alternatives.
You know, the right to bear arms is because that's the last form of defense against tyranny, not to protect yourself from the police. Anybody that wants to disarm me can drop dead. Anybody that wants to make me unarmed and helpless. People that want to literally create the proven places where more innocents are killed called gun-free zones, we're going to beat you. We're going to vote you out of office or suck on my machine gun. Look, okay, just get any blunt objects together, alright? If you get corners, bash them in the head, that seems to work out. Kick together, stay sharp, and follow me. I had a dream the other night that, well, I didn't understand. A figure walked in through the mist with a flintlock in his hand. His clothes were torn and dirty as he stood there by my bed. He took off his three-cornered hat, and speaking low to me, he said, We've fought a revolution to secure our liberty. We wrote the Constitution as a shield from tyranny. For future generations, this legacy we gave. In this, the land of the free and home of the brave. The freedoms we secured for you, we hoped you'd always keep. But tyrants labored endlessly while your parents were asleep. Your freedom's gone, your courage lost. You're no more than a slave. In this, the land of the free and home of the brave. You buy permits to travel and permits to own a gun. permits to start a business or to build a place for one. On land that you believe you own, you pay a yearly rent. Although you have no voice in saying how the money's spent. Your children must attend a school that doesn't educate. And your Christian values can't be taught according to the state. You read about the current news in a regulated press. And you pay a tax you do not owe to please the IRS. Your money is no longer made of silver nor of gold. You trade your wealth for paper so your life can be controlled. You pay for crimes that make our nation turn from God and shame. You trade it in your name. You've given government control to those who do you harm so they could burn down churches and seize the family farm. and keep our country deep in debt. Put men of God in jail. Harash your fellow countrymen while corrupted courts prevail. Your public servants don't uphold the solemn oaths they've sworn. And your daughters visit doctors so their children will be buried. Your leaders send artillery and guns to foreign shores and send your sons to slaughter fighting other people's wars. Can you regain the freedoms for which we fought and died? Or don't you have the courage or the faith to stand with pride? And are there no more values for what you'll fight to save? Or do you wish your children to live in fear and be a slave? O sons of the Republic, arise, take a stand, defend the Constitution, the Supreme Law of the land, preserve our great Republic and eat God-given right. And pray to God, keep the torture freedom burning bright. As I awoke he'd vanished in the mist from whence he came. His words were true, we are not free, but we have ourselves to blame. For even now as tyrants trampled each God-given rite, we only watch and tremble, too afraid to stand and fight. If he stood by your bedside in a dream while you were asleep and wondered what remains of the freedoms he'd fought to keep, what would be your answer if he called out from the grave, dill the land of the free? gentlemen this is the evening intelligence report at our party one day closer to victory for all of our brothers and sisters both on and behind the lines and occupied territories southwest northeast and south ladies and gentlemen you're listening to a retreat re-radio dot four m g dot com Liberty Tree Radio on satellite and we're on AM and FM micro stations, CB base stations and ultra net hallmark in Golden Spike technologies east and west of the Mississippi along with Alaska and it is 804 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. Still a spring day out there, make no mistake about it, we ain't talking summertime. But cleared right up so the temperature is going to stay down tonight. In fact, we'll probably get a little chillier, so keep an eye on your plants in the greenhouse. Make sure you got everything warmed up a little bit, turn on the light bulbs, that's all it takes. And be ready for beautiful, beautiful weather we're going to have tomorrow. to probably rain well it could be but not bad never was the upper but this is the in the peninsula of michigan upper and lower and uh... guys we get everything in that's all the same day anyway um... gardening one of the things with regard to the two weapons and the urgent to you essentials ammunition and food both their weapons especially with the communist are concerned starving you out or try to use a bullet on you means gotta be able to eat and put a bullet on them so let's just talk to make sure we continue to mission uh... classic firearms dot com plastic firearms dot com that we mentioned during the tour block we're having a quick conversation but what was first help finding a uh... they get rifle available and when you look at the ammunition of the price of the rifle we balance out between the two you can do the math and fidgeted a couple of different ways no which got the animal for a better price to get the rifle for a medium price which is not bad They got rifles for $69 apiece under $100. They laid below $100 for quite some time, making them a very, very, very, very, very wise investment for anybody who picked them up. Now, go take a look at the price. In fact, the company I just mentioned, Classic Firearms, seems to have the touch on what few might be left out there if they come in again. and they may already be blocked with all the stuff going on the doctor tell you until a year later you know by the way they've been blocking the stuff for you know months now since the uh... never meet puppet came in and probably before while trump was still in there okay so uh... when you're looking at certain uh... certain issues such as uh... long guns for instance uh... the military surplus it's out to the car carlos are just about it well hold on here there are some of the schmidt ruben this the swiss uh... schmidt rubin models of rifles that have been coming in that are available and uh... it's a mix so that's the only other thing that really is even you know in the wings back with a whole flurry of those came in again who classic farms is one two three four different uh... rifles in the inventory really the one does not require to fulfill the model eighteen eighty nine should not antique yep no ffl required all you can buy that over the counter and get that through the mail i'll get it to the regular delivery they don't have anything else though in the way of uh... military surplus beyond the car car when the uh... the uh... swiss weapons example again of well catches catch can now to counter uh... with regard to all of you did get something can you get ammunition for i don't know that they're offering any seven point five swiss uh... they've had some barn all in the past and there are some other loads including some swiss military but i don't see it jump off the table here uh... right off the bat so i'm not a girl holding my breath and expecting things change with regard to that uh... otherwise that's the that's the better here being weapons wednesday after balance when you're looking for something it were almost to the extreme that we've been uh... we back around the g c a sixty eight beyond some things you could get cheap ammunition but no weapons. There was some stuff out there, 8mm was still common, but the models had all been locked up back in the day. And there is still some ammunition available for relatively reasonable price by comparison to what others are, but all of it of course is accelerated price-wise. Devalluation of the currency is something nobody's talking about in conjunction with availability, which is another issue. price increases because of the reflection uh... with regard to be the currency not just here with any american products but also overseas with europeans or anybody else for that matter remember there's a whole math formula there with the money in it in and of itself uh... it still comes down to by the way that uh... seven six two by thirty nine or five four five by thirty nine is typically cheaper than anything else out there for the time being It's not going to last. It's not going to be there forever. In fact, here's, here again, one of the problems I've seen several times. Pistol ammunition, the 7.62x25 Tokarev ammo, right? 73 cents a round. Oh, wait a minute, right above it. And Barnall's not the cheapest to go through usually. But still, 50 cents a round for a rifle cartridge. Now, if I was going to shoot one or the other, I can get one and a half as many cartridges in a rifle in 7.62x39 over that Toker realm. And it doesn't mean everything's also true with the 9mm versus the .223, .556, etc. We're seeing the same offset off-balance with regard to what the two should cost. Guys, look at the volume. Just look at the amount of material involved to create a 9mm round. Less brass, less powder, larger bullet, but still not a significant, you know, significant difference there, and then a primer. And yet you're looking at almost twice the price for any pistol round over a rifle round. Just something about plus usually the pistol is a straight case. The rifle round requires a lot more precision in terms of step-by-step production. because it is a shouldered case. Just think about it. It takes more time, takes more machinery, more dies to make that rifle case than by far what it does to make that 9mm straight case. So just heads up on these things. When you look at it, do some of the math and then go, huh. So it does make more sense, as he said, you know, when he man-witted pistol, he said, man-witted rifle, and man-witted rifle wins every time, well, especially since it's what I would first pick anyway. So that's where you should be. Yep, looks like the rifle is your first choice still for the time being. And I don't see anything on the horizon fixing that one, so to speak. Another thing here real quick is with any of these companies, in the light rifles, I've had a lot of questions again. I would say probably about half as many as on the AR about the Mini-14. And it is the other, the other 223-556 GoTo gun, or at least it has been for a while. but the availability of uh... the weapon is dictated by rueger and rueger of course is not prioritized many fourteen production it was actually not so much trying to keep a pace but good putting a goodly amount of material out there and because rueger is branched off into other we'll weapons they have kind of watered down production of what were basic or core lines doesn't mean you are still making them but this is another reason i've had people complaining that you know i can't find that many fourteen that was around forever you can always get it always pick it up why not we've been selling a hours for that's true but remember rueger makes a variation on uh... the a r everybody does something there's a bit doesn't know what that's tying up if not a if if nothing else capital maybe not production because they may not even be cranking out most of the parts and that's a fact but uh... the idea is that if they're good it's kinda like if you're building corvettes then you don't want to necessarily offer as many the arrows that look like a corvette that's retarded that's why the fear was killed that sounds weird but the fear i was trying to really pick up the market with this mid and rear mounted engines because it had forward mid and rear yet an option and what's interesting about that is that the body style was no cool for today that uh... of the core that they felt the core that market was taken a bit of a bite because people weren't stretching their dollar to buy the core that they were buying the fear of getting a comparable gm product with some interesting performance uh... capabilities so they killed the fear oh and kind of famous true with a lot of these gun companies when they're producing what is an overlapping product and they feel that they you know want to take a bigger bite out of what is a more common market for parts So the Mini-14 has kind of taken a hit on that one to a degree. I don't know what the overall numbers are yet, but I'd be willing to bet that it's probably half of what they were producing otherwise in the AR variants and other weapons of that type. Now remember, there's a lot of other light rifles I would love to point you to if we had them available. Ruger made a number of great little firearms, as did Remington, as did Winchester. that have just fallen to the wayside and they just failed to follow through on them at a time when they would have hit the perfect niche for sales uh... nine millimeter like car beams there's a number of other two two three five five six rifles out there that were produced that uh... just kinda faded including something which i'd like to see more of but you don't see as much as you should in manually operated five five six bam manually operated seven six two by thirty nine and manually operated five four five by thirty nine Home builds can make up the difference, but the big advantage here is that you can build a really rock-solid heavy barrel placement rifle and do it for very much on the cheap if you were to take advantage of all the stuff that is laying around out there. And that's something that is a sidebar project or a new project. For some of you, you should seriously take into consideration. And, oh, good question. Another thing, yeah, real quick, when we're looking at classic firearms, go back to this. so we just asking a question i don't know hold on all okay well yeah we do have some military surplus handguns but we're uh... in fact well all can see what you're talking about this is better around for a bit uh... at the top of the list over at classic firearms there's a it's another one of the turkish pistol i am sure i don't think i even have to look like in check all they do have some they do have high points in the mix again right now with the wildest have had the in stock really many good numbers but they show both the forty five uh... high point for two hundred dollars and they show the point model c nine uh... four hundred and eighty dollars however the question somebody had this uh... sds imports the zig gala zig gala or zig gala take a pic it depends on you know i don't know what their pronunciation is and then over the deaf definition with regard to pronounce pronunciation ever look it up but we'll say it again up Okay, all the PX-9. This is a Gen 2 pistol, semi-automatic 215-round magazines, barrel, night sights, 4-inch barrel night sights, hard-case, Holstron loader for $330. Almost gonna say $200, but nice it was under $300. But it's typical, this is typical for the polymer-type frame pistols, no matter what you see. It looks to me to be kind of a SIG knockoff kind of. It does have the fixture on the base of the frame, forward of the trigger, trigger guard for laser, optics, whatever you do, bayonet, whatever you want. But for $330, that's a middle range price for the handguns of this type. My only question would be is to look immediately right there at Classic Firearms and see if they have more mags. Two mags are nice, but four, six, or eight mags is much, much better and preferred. Okay. uh... no i would be would consider that buretta eighty five bb i love that little pistol i told a hell of a lot of them when they were brand new manufactured you decades ago uh... in fact i had a niche on those but uh... in three other thirty two they these are the eight round uh... in line version i have a staggered mag of the next generation but uh... for four hundred dollars apiece i mean come on even if you look at those big gala you know if they get it pistol up above that you were just asking about that's 380 auto pistol we know 380 auto is like unobtainium price-wise it's outrageous and the pistol itself but again magazines I'm sure they're out there eight round magazine which is not bad I can live with a straight line magazine but it's availability and cost so if the you know the Zagana with a 15 round mag if they have more of the mags which sometimes at the bottom of the scroll or when you go to a let's just go to it if it pops up uh... if the magazines are there the reasonably priced them yet the pistol like that would be fine uh... there's a lot of other comes out there like it a lot of you guys you know this is top of the you know all of the other there's any number of different pistols and cranked out that have been made available all the walters were as good or a price and you're getting a uh... german-made gun that's top of the line and more than serviceable enough. Now these, I'm looking here real quick, we're talking about time, we're not going to buy anything on time. Interesting, I don't see any mags jumping out, so that's the problem. Okay, if you're looking at that, do other pistol mags from another manufacturer, or are there more mags for this pistol in the inventory, either here or with one of the other companies? Now, if they aren't carrying it directly at classic, it's because they didn't come in with a wave or batch of stuff they've got, I would call and ask them, do you have more mags coming in for these guns? Because they may. If they don't, then you need to do a quick shop around, look to see who's got them, and buy four right away. Depending on how much they cost, because I know your wallets are limited, you don't have to tell me that, but you want at least four more magazines for this gun. Ideally, as many as you can afford, 10, 15 would be nice, just keep piling them up. every once in a while do another purchase at if they're available I would remind you that some fees are an import gun and their Turkish guys Turkey's getting special dispensation and has been for quite some time and because of that uh... they could get cut off just as quickly turn right around and also they hit the switch and they're not they're not bringing them in anymore when that happens while you won't be getting anything else either Take a look at this see if it floats your boat makes sense give them a call if you want to do more science on this as far as availability of components especially magazines and also spare parts and Then go from there make your decision because 330 is in the middle Basically, they're arguing and outrightly so that it's a similar platform as a Springfield Armory XDM series and is chambered 9 millimeter pistol features a 4-inch hammer forged barrel that is incredibly accurate and features a generous 15 round magazine capacity. There you go. So, if the personal arm would be fine, I would also point out, remember we were talking pistol ammo, you're not going to be able to afford much. So just get what you need to get the thing in service and have what you need to reserve for the magazines you've got and then a couple of reloads at least. If you can find a deal somewhere where somebody is getting rid of some 9mm, jump on it, but otherwise, yeah, maybe service it more now. It looks like they're showing a 33 round stick mag in it. I don't know, again, do a little roll scroll reading and see if there's any follow-up on that from customers. And it'll give you an idea of what might work and what might not with regard to magazines, if they have the extended mags or not. Looks like they do. Or one of the extended mags already built will in that gun. So, hopefully that gives you an idea. Well, yeah, they've got the 1911 Kanaka off tube of the same company as the Ghana company. But again, not familiar with the performance of those particular pistols. Have to find out a little bit more and look to see what else anybody might have had in the way of kickback on those. But it definitely is another option. Now, let's go back over here. One of the other things that I touched on in the tour block had to do with For instance, carry technology. And I know everybody always asks, what kind of sling do you use? Well, I just use actually a standard. I don't use a three-point. Just a standard utility two-point hanger sling, just for putting it on the shoulder if need be, which the biggest problem is that most of the religious groups that I was with with regard to the sling nose sling are the nose sling crew. What we mean by that is you tape off the sling rings and you don't use any sling at all. that's just something else to make noise and something else gets nagged up but i want to help you to understand that when you have that philosophy the weapon never is never never away from your body it's always touching you somewhere that's something that people don't understand all we already operate without a link well it's quite simple no matter what it did forces you to actually have physical contact with the government to be under your control constantly that's the reason for that and it helps to keep you sharper you know you're useless without your weapon your weapon is useless without you so the two better never separate now granted there's any number of situations where you can get hit hurt and damaged and that's where the plane comes in uh... there've been a lot of other techniques with even gum lanyards for years that have been used not just with handguns but also the rifles in we whichever way ago it's kind of a religiosity thing again whatever philosophy you embrace, you need to embrace it and practice. Most common mistake made, you have to treat your training and you know, train as you will fight for you will fight as you have trained. Train realistically. Go ahead, call or jump in there please. Yeah, that sling is if I don't have a sling, I can't even hold my rifle up. I take that sling like you probably know what I'm talking about and I wrap it around my left arm And then I have three points. I got my hand on the front guard, my slings on my elbow, and then my cheek on the butt. And man, is that, I mean, that studies it right up for a little guy like me, because I'm only about 145 pounds. Right. In fact, the pyramidal control of the weapon utilizing the sling, especially for offhand shooting, uh... is one of those things that was part of the traditional training that's part of the swing philosophy is not just that it's a carry device but it's part of your stabilizing system and it becomes second nature once you're working with it uh... what you're familiar with it and now the subcategories are if you're agree if you were moly say uh... remember that the standard swing on the from the spring field the infield to the grand was originally leather there was a change out during most campus which is already we develop one but with not dominant it was just as common uh... during world war two of the uh... nylon slash my first caught and then i want cotton slings came into service with the same court you know with a quick release a quick you know lover type of a book work so you could get wrapped around that arm and the proper state as needed picture talking about his bad it's a big traditional uh... cycle of training who are bring that weapon up and snug it all point because what you've got work with the arm you're going to help to press it back into the shoulder the cheek well well ladies the stock work belongs of your for the four of us controlled by a combination of the support from the slang and your left hand taking control of the forearm undercarriage though floating not necessarily gripping but resting it and then lining up your sights squeeze that pity surprise it goes off and the bullet hits with the poster So, good point. Again, it's part, for many of you, that's the other half of the philosophy. Even if it's just the older style two-point contact sling, it serves a purpose. In many cases, the sling is automatically adjusted. Once you get the weapon, you pick it up, you adjust it. Once you've adjusted it for proper use with offhand shooting, then you tape everything into place so that it can't move. It's ready to be used the moment that you're ready to you know roll your arm into the end of the sling Drop into the shooting position of choice and start you know targets down. No, and then that's especially I like to kneel you always have knee pads on and I got a needle I can't stand I mean I could stand for a couple of shots, you know, I'm gonna stand and move. Yeah. Yeah, but to get the most, the best aimed shot is I got a kneel and then you know, one knee up, one on the ground, fire off and then move. Real quick on that note, I didn't mention this, but this is over at Botash, you might want to check it out too. Now unfortunately they're only in navy blue, dark navy. Protocol, long sleeve, internal elbow pads. They also have the pants that match with internal knee pads. And you know what's really cute? They're $4.98 a shirt and $4.98 a pant right now. Brand new. Where was that at? Where was that at, Mark? This is over at Motash. B-O-T-A-C-H. Motash.com. B-O-T-A-C-H. And they're on sale. They're normally $60. They are a police tactical shirt with a police tactical pant. The shirts are $4.98 apiece. Let's see what they have. Oh, they've got medium. What size are you? Call her. Oh, I'm, uh, Bob would take a medium. Yes. They've got right now. I just looked the shirts. They have $509 of the shirts at $4.98 apiece. They also have a size large. And for you guys listening, just in case you need bigger, they do go up to extra large. They go up to two X. They go up to, nope, they're out of 3X and they're out of 4X. So they have up to 2X and they go all the way down, I think, to size small. Yep, they do. So they've got a good size range. They are protoc, long sleeve, zip up, shirts with internal elbows. Now they have the pants. Now this is the same thing. Protocol, Teflon coat, oh, they're Teflon coated. Oh, I didn't even say that in the other one. They're Teflon coated pants. Teflon coated tactical pants with internal knee pads, $4.98 apiece. And they have those, although they may not have them in the small sizes. Let's see what happens here. Well, they don't have them large. Okay, I'm going to start small. They don't have zero and small. They have zero in, zero and extra large, but they do have 2X. How do you like that one? Remember I said it's kind of weird. They actually have 2X in stock for $4.98. If you're looking for a Paratactical pants, they also got 3x for, again, they got 59 of them, 3x for $4.98 a pair. So guys, if you're looking for spare pants, I had a couple of guys I've talked to, both of them are two different, totally different locations. One guy is 6'5", the other one is 6'6", and both of them wanted pants. Well, guess what? Actually, I haven't their size. Well, she's I am, Sergeant Carter. As a matter of fact, I'm going to put a 3x in the inventory because they're going to need one. so i just did that for him but uh... the the shirt the battle blouses remembered me you know they've the uh... built-in pad the guy here ever a shooting jacket many of you may not have but in the shooting jackets you have the uh... stitch on uh... reinforced uh... rubber slash pad point they're actually padded batches rubbers anti-slip but you have a little key points for to a four accommodating the swing uh... system that we were just talking about for using the two point military plane combination uh... if you're if you've had a shooting coat you have the elbow pads internal by the way which these these shirts have and then you also have so on mo pad points so that when you wrap all these parts not put any undue stress but you're still getting this the the physical stress but you're not getting any fatigue stress issues going into play with the of the system which is kind of cool So these could be used as shooting shirts, you know, shooting shirts slash jackets. A little more modification, but they do have the built-in elbow pads. And the overlap is size 2X for everybody. If you are 1X, you could probably handle a 2X. You might have to tuck something here and there. But it's easier to compress something that is a stretch cloth, right? You're not going to do that. But they do have the mediums and the largest, well, small, medium, large, extra-large, and extra-extra-large. That is over at both. dot com protocol long sleeve with internal elbow pads and as long as i'm on that subject uh... let's see if there's any other force okay now along the over a boat ash we got into that one real quick i'm also going to mention the boots again attention attention attention they have maelstrom military combat boots these are and Coyote Brown, they are $9.98 a pair. But if you buy 12 pairs of whatever size, size 9, size 9.5, or size 10, they drop down to $8.98 a pair. So these are size 9, 9.5, or size 10. And you can mix up. You don't have to have, like, say 12 size 10s. You can have a mix of whatever sizes you want. But you do get a discount if you're listening and you're a bunch of guys out there working together. They are Maelstrom military combat side zip boots and they are at Motash.com. Go over the clearance section. There's another pair that are similar that are Maelstroms. That's not the one. You'll see black and tan together. That's not the ad. Go to the find the one in clearance where it's Maelstrom military combat side zip boots and it's just the Coyote Brown slash the tan. And for $9.98 a pair, you can't beat that. But if you can do 12 pairs, $8.98, you just did. Then you get a pair of boots for the price of two-pack of good socks. Yeah, exactly. Well, you can't buy tennis shoes for this price, guys. And these are very good boots. I've already had these in hand. The pair that I got before were $20 a set. Same boots. But now these are only in size 9, size 9.5 and size 10, but take advantage of these while you can. In reality, there are some pretty good grab buys or sales in their clearance section every once in a while. Another thing that I now know for sure, the Lalo, or Lalo, Lalo, Lalo, take your pick, tomato, tomato, Shadow Intruder 8-inch Ranger Green Boots up to size 15 for $39.98 a pair. These boots go for about $300 a pair. And I mean, if you go do a search, Lalo, Shadow, Intruder, 8-inch Ranger green boots. Lalo, Shadow, Intruder boots. You can do that. Go look at the price. Go do a search over at Google or whatever you want to, whatever your search engine is, and watch to see what pops up price-wise. $39.98, we'll say $40, because I think I'll throw those two pennies in there. This is still a very good buy for what is a very comfortable, very useful boot for any of you guys that are looking for something to work as a better rubber baby buggy bumper. Keep your feet from falling off underneath you. So both of these deals, the 998 or 898, depending on how many you buy, that particular deal just can't be beaten. Those are Maelstrom Military Combat Side Zip boots. Actually, I've got some of each coming. I'll leave zip up shirts with internal elbow pads and the other is the protocol. teflon coated tactical pants with internal knee pads both of those are only four ninety eight atop four dollars and ninety eight cents a bottom so five and five if you'll if you can find something there the fit you very good price for some clothing so heads up on that anyway pay what we are at the bottom and we'd we're going to be more religious about this i'm a little short today why was a long-winded there uh... were passed the bottom ed bottom of the hour traditional Liberty Tree Radio, Weapons Wednesday break. If we could, that would be great. Well, this brave RUC man, ya marchin' off our street 600 degrees, old, you see, had like a marisbee Come out ya card opinions, come on out and fight He tried to only jokin' Well, he heard the arm of let and it's down in the lobby, you see I am in the dark with a probable company A company left and another one on me, right A cup of ammunition for me, little Arbalarville. But corporals and rivals, while on the stroll at night, they remembered narrow water and the bloody arm of light. And it's down across the glens, and it's very long to be. With the noble company, he writes, an aroundin' issue for me, little arm. Arm of light. Like I'm right in the crotch there, lad. Anyway, they got body rubber on. Remember, aim for the groin. You hit the leg, blow off the leg, hit the groin, goes up into the gut, you know, hit the spine, pelvis, one way or another, that's the motor function area. And yeah, I know you can tell me all about headshots all day, but here's the problem. The heads up on the top end, bobbling, the groin slash the hip can't move out of the way. Does everybody remember that? How your center of balance works and how your center of gravity is established? Move that area out of the line of fire. So I really should have more armor down there, and that's why you've noticed if you pay attention to the surplus armor that I've been pointing out, have you noticed how more and more you see the groin armor plates? Yes, yourself, why? Other people have figured out the math I'm talking about here. Rather than crack, crack, crack over the head, you want to stay down low, aim low, and that way one way or another there's a hit. Let's say that you do ride up and you hit the body armor, but that counts, that's a hit. Does main armor swell and then it went through to all the soft, chewy stuff. Psychologically, they know that they've got bullets on them. Makes a big difference, people. Always makes a big difference. Air proper planning on that one. Prevents piss poor performance. Anyway, one more time. Somebody's just asking here during the break. It's L-A-L-O. Lalo or Lalo. Lalo. These are Shadow and Truder 8 inch Rangers, but they do have others. There's a bunch of other stuff that's in the sales section. when you go over to clearance, forgive me, not sales, clearance, they do have sales also. But over in the clearance section, they have a bunch of the Leylo type and low quarter slash tractor, you know, shoe, combat shoe, the way they're building them now. And they're all the same price. They're also all about the same price retail normally, or even low retail, $200 to $325 for a pair. It depends on which one we're talking about here. but the Lalo Shadow Amphibian 5 is 39.98 and each one has different sizes available. Remember these are the ends of. So if you're looking for a bigger size, they may or may not have them. For instance, that one I just mentioned, they've got size 14 available. They only have five pairs left. And the big sizes do go first, because no matter what, if you've got to kick two cows in the arse to make a pair of shoes, your feet are that big, that's And remember, the big size is anybody else competing with you. They're going after them and they're getting spares. Otherwise, they go from the 14s they do have, but then they drop down the next size. The next biggest size is 11.5 in those. That's another shoe altogether, but of the same leylo, you know, green pattern, green color, forgive me, mod tactical pattern combat shoe. And they do have others that are part of the, there we go. Let's try that. They have those that are others that are part of the formula and definitely worth taking a look at because it may apply to you but not necessarily to me. The other one is the amphibian, the other one is the intruder. I look to see what their sizes they have left. And yeah, they do have regular brown or gray shoes too. They're in the same family and at the same outrageous price. Oh, they do have 15s in the shadow intruder, which I grabbed just easily over the other boot. They have size 15. and they do have size fourteen and they're still the same price as the others are not though this is the this is a five-inch as opposed to a eight-inch book this is more like a chukka boot in terms of height but they definitely are in stock for some you'll have to look to see what sizes are available with all of these uh... another thing let's see real quick uh... with regard to reloading supplies somebody was asking about dies we actually got talking about will be loading a little bit are during the tour block i will remind you that yes uh... paul metal state armory does have reloading supplies now i don't know what they have in stock right now but you know they did have a couple of uh... deals last week on dyes sets what little they had i assume the ones are offering her either an odd niche nobody noticed where they are we don't lose you know what they are so they're kind of their float in the background maybe there were the corner warehouse or maybe it's just something they bought from their distributor i've mentioned this many times remember the distributor goes yeah i know we don't have much but we do have these and a lot of these companies will take whatever they can get least to put something on the shelf because you know that is half the battle to have product here to get a great the illusion you're not out of business yet and that is critical out of the uh... companies out there. That's why they've been buying all of this inane ammo that in some cases they can't easily sell, the European ammunition. Not many people have European bolt-action or top break type sporting rifles in their inventory. And you'll notice that a lot of these companies though have bought quite an extensive inventory just because it was made available to them, not because of it. And they got what they got. So you had to just work with it, I guess, best way. The other thing here With regard to the reloading, there's always a question about which, which, Lee is the cheapest of the bunch in terms of if you're buying brand new out of the box and is serviceable enough. Now, if you're looking to really tighten things up, yes, you can spend more money on a more expensive press. The old presses are a really good choice. The biggest thing is that sometimes there are sales on the C-presses or the hand presses or the handheld presses, the rock, you know, nut, nutcrackers as they call them. uh... if that's what you're choosing to run with uh... again as far as like the uh... old presses of the rock chakra still one of the basic rule of foundation presses for doing any of the more exotic uh... tough work when it comes to reshaping cases and considering everybody short ammo and everybody's try to figure out how to make something work or if you know it was some one thing they're going to make into another The Rockchucker O-Press was the longest, or has been one of the longest in production go-to presses of its type. Now, Lee makes an O-Press, everybody does. Everybody makes an O-Press. In fact, fewer make the C's. I'd mention them, but there aren't as many making the C out there as they are just simply out of policy creating a whole big gaggle of... uh... old presses and sticking with that pattern because of its strength and durability we get a member of the old have warranties it will have to fix anything the other problem as we know is dies now there are dies for any number of different uh... cases out there as you know but and again our cbs is is one of the better choices in terms of uh... reliability when it comes to uh... following up on their uh... warranties, which I mentioned, of course, warranties won't make anything, it won't make any difference if we go to war. That's all out the window. It's just like, you know, the lifetime warranty on the high-point curbing. But, RCBS traditionally has always been really good if you throw something at them where, you know, it's obviously a material malfunction. They're pretty quick, or at least they traditionally have been pretty quick to turn around. The only thing that might be an issue right now is whether or not to even have it in production. I know there could be on one line of production for something, and you're going to have to try to wait until they or they have maybe the specialty shop, you know, redo or redo, you know, build a new dye for you to replace the one that was flawed or had a problem. Most common for the RCBS or any of the companies initially is when they did the de-priming pens. The first generation on a lot of those, when they finally start doing that as opposed to the separate de-priming tools and de-priming dyes, which were standalone years ago, they press fitted the uh... uh... primarily deep-priming rod into a mod nested kit inside the die now the problem is that they will look good thing is that they want what obviously much harder metal than they would normally use for a piece of rod stock like that unfortunately that little piece of rod stock still fatigued uh... and at a given point depending on what you're trying to do you know push out of the way of a primer some of the receipt of pretty well You could break a prime of pin just like you do with any other set of dies that are replaceable. Problem. Originally they weren't. You had to send that back to RCBS to get fixed. And RCBS was the lead on that for the longest time. Lead didn't even make anything like that. Or did anybody else for that matter? RCBS did it, was successful, but then they learned very quickly. We're going to have to make an access point and you're going to have to be able to back out the die and you're going to have to be able to do it with ease. but you had a uh... for the deep rhyming can you actually had a set screw and you've got a cluster of eight or ten replacement pens when you bought the dies now in many cases because so we'll back in the day when this came about is one of the total too many times we were short on ammo in the seventies And the same thing that's going on now, everybody was rebuilding or building from something else, cases that they needed. In some cases it was like seven millimeter Mauser, eight millimeter Mauser from 30 out six cases. There were tons and tons of 30 out six cases around, but there weren't that many seven millimeter. So brand new reformed seven millimeter brass from 30 out six brass was a very common practice, but it puts a lot of stress on the dies. And you gotta remember that as is the case when i did this i used to take the uh... the court you clear arsenal brass and use it for reshaping into other okay who we want to why you clear arsenal okay you know you know you you you clear arsenal uh... that particular brass used a was one of the odd man out It was a crimped brass, or crimped primer pocket that they built with that particular piece of brass. It was much tougher with regard to being seeded into the brass itself. And in fact, how do we know about those RCBS primer pins? Well, it's real easy because we broke a lot of them on those Euchlear Arsenal brass. In fact, eventually we realized when we had 20, 30,000 rounds of 30-06, the Euchlear brass, we would immediately pull off to the side well when i had a whole pile of what do you do with it well once they came up with a replaceable primer pen here's one of the tricks that we did we went up and drill rod and replaced cut a cut drill rod proper dimension to that primer pen stock that they originally offered with our cbs and then we installed that into the primer deep deep priming uh... pen pocket and then we took all that you clear brass to prop the primers out, still breaking a pin every couple hundred rounds. And in the process, we now had reusable brass that we could do something with. Well, we didn't want it mingled in with everything else. Well, we certainly reamed out the primer pocket to loosen it up a bit. And then we also reformed the brass to either eight millimeter Mauser or seven millimeter Mauser. Now, when we did that, it was a lot easier to ID the brass to make sure we didn't mix it in with anything else that we didn't want to because the Euchler Arsenal brass you know specifically marked and you know easily dated identified so we kept it all together we let the government markings help us to mohammed slash heard the uh... spent cases when we had a mother reloading room so difficult trip whenever you got some anything that the press and barber damn prime boxer prime up to reload not to talk to reload it all gets reused when you don't got nothing to talk about exactly what everybody was doing and that's the way you better be thinking now and thinking ahead towards the situation we're facing and again proper planning prevents piss poor performance so we can get the job done one little tricks there uh... with regard to the priming is again you can still do this today is match up with a right a harder of not brittle uh... you don't want a brittle but you want a harder uh... rod stock to replace or to copy the the deep priming pens and reuse replace for that purpose now there's no reason we can do that when we're doing mass production if we do if we upgrade to the better steel to begin with uh... one of the big advantages there is that it's more likely that the pens are going to run for a longer period of time before we have a malfunction that way we're happy we're happy anyway we're going to still get the job done and but we'll get it done with what management and maintenance issues which is one of the things that always needs to be taken into consideration. Yeah, somebody's going, Mark, it's like Paul Meadow is like out of everything in the way of reloading supplies. Yeah, I see what you're talking about. And in fact, even in bullet casting dies, casting molds, there is nothing, a little to nothing, let's put it that way. Again, that's not surprised, but uh... take that wall okay okay if you reloading supplies they've got a part of the guy ranch quantity lock and load a series modified case uh... or do you fifty caliber fire five uh... ten a max bullets seven hundred fifty grain and then they have what the last item they have or the uh... two sixty remington modified case and that i had not looked but now I know so it's a big waste of time to go over to uh... yeah to go over palmetto right now for reloading supplies they do not have any dies in theory in stock let me check double check page one again to be safe they do not show any dies available so again that's just the way it works they do have a bullet or hammer they do have other reloading supplies as far as other items but it's always they do have a lot of them primer bucket, uniformer size large twenty dollars ninety nine cents a primer pocket reamer so some of you might want to invest in as i just mentioned a minute ago just in case those are one of those many tools it goes in the toolbox of the reloading systems of the time comes anyway uh... was another question that came in as an email and it has to do with screw threads uh... you guys screw threads throughout the years are kind of interesting on firearms uh... that's what the question was all car is a very standard for the threads stock on uh... any of the firearms no not really first of all if you're the tallies are going to do it to the italian centric way of the british the british eccentric way also british centric away uh... america well we just do our way as you know and because of this each country had their own philosophy about fasteners, fastener heads, and in many cases also cutting corners. Threads cost money, straight pins, just drill and punch, you know, drill and tap, and then, you know, fold it over, hammer it over, or do whatever. So one way or another, you really, really, really have to pay attention, which is what keeps these, by the way, like gun parts, corp., all of them do all these old inventories. it and again that's why it's more economical typically to go to that part inventory because the smaller you know diddly parts which will michael and i'm gonna death are also very unique to the era especially if it's a surplus weapon or older weapons during that period of time there was a philosophy about how to do things the parts are appropriate they are typically made to spec i mean again they're made to exceed most what we would see today and uh... they are but not not outrageously priced for a large and you gotta remember that the guys invested so all kinds of other parts of the math formula but you know you can match up if you have the correct screw here's one thing she can do you can experiment you can go to the hardware look to see in the tray of the myriad of trees that may be available if you have anything comparable in a faster that would compliment or you know do the job of what you already have on the weapon beware of a couple of things remember there are variations in how you have progressive paper uh... built into uh... some of the designs and there's a reason for this is the sporty yelpia for ease in guiding the uh... stock you know the material you know threaded material into the thread channel and that's why you'll find what is a little longer uh... bill standoff uh... you know like a one-quarter the length of a pump is on credit stock is designed to be a guide which allows for the very small threads to efficiently line up with each other's not an accident very intentional they didn't remember these are military weapons if they didn't have to do it if they could cut material they would but there's a another factor here is in the field maintenance and operations and because of that it's got to be user-friendly to the person who's going to be using the weapon and a relatively user-friendly to the man who does the maintenance the consideration is that whatever work you put in you don't want to have to reduce something or have to fix something and then fix it over and over again so all of these things were worked out and you know i bold and were adopted if it was the final product it was adopted because there was a reason it was a so it was a solution to something a for saw as a problem so with your threaded stock you can probably get away with some of the shorter screws because they don't know many of your screws you buy commercially will not have the extended blank up guide you know guide uh... uh... post uh... and which means what you're concerned with is the threads stock uh... being uh... appropriate terms of however many uh... 8th of an inch, 16th of an inch, 32nd of an inch you need of point of contact material. I bring this up because there's a lot of little screws on the Mausers and the Enfields and I will say this, rather than do what I just said about going to hardware, try using the existing inventories and especially right now if you got Mausers and more so British Enfields. there's a lot of british and feel part of came in with what ever country had them probably israeli pattern we probably paid for me probably gave them to him from some other inventory because that's what the parasites to the turn off all the stuff that we give it to him for free the parasites all the back to you and that's what's happening right now so i can't emphasize enough uh... get the parts get the right parts make sure they work and yet you want to go the hardware you can line up and match up the parts for sure now remember don't try to talk something into a channel and distort the female threads only to find out that it really wasn't quite the right size or starter size. And now you can't thread the original screw back in. Okay, you're going to have to dress it, clean it up, and hopefully get it to work. Instead, remember, if you can't get it to work with any kind of light pressure, stop what you're doing with that experiment, back it off, and go back to the original parts. and then track down the parts of the inventory. But now down the road, if we're building our own, well whatever standard we establish, like I said, it would be a revolutionary war slash American war for independence standard, 2021, 2022. Whatever we establish in the way those FASTRs becomes a standard for our era. and we do need to address this now of course i would say that in a distress combat situation you'll use apart for as long as you can but when you run out of it you will be immediately have a plan to use a another alternative and that may mean using metric as opposed to a conservative vice versa depending upon what it is that's available in vast quantity suit our need for that industrial application. This is always true in any kind of situation. L, 4GM and Chrysler do all the time. They just don't tell you about it. You'd be amazed at how many two-year-old parts are on your brand new car. And the reason is that, you know, again, they've got buckets of this material sitting there. It's not a big deal to come up with an adjustment or an adaption process. And then they apply it. They run out the parts, they got their money's worth out of them, then you get the real part. Next model after the first 6, 8, 10, 20,000, then you get the real part that's supposed to be on there. Just how it works. So we're talking about doing that with military application. We need to be thinking about it in advance. Now another thing, bullets are not a big deal because there are a number of different options there still, but if you're finicky or you're looking for a particular projectile, then, sir, just like everything else. Anyway, we are at the top of the interview, God bless our republic. And for the new order, we shall prevail with the gentlemanly emperors on their own. Where in the mark should we get out of the way? God bless you all. Appreciate your support. And as Edward's taking over, Liberty Tree Radio continues for live broadcasting. Have fun. Bye bye. When I'm overloading the demons, I turn up just
