What they did, you could buy a .308 Israeli barrel or a Douglas barrel for as little as $45, $50 back then. So you get a brand new barrel and in .308, and you had to do nothing else to modify the gun, the action. but what they also want to do is put a sporting stock on it so they are bought a walnut or birchwood stock or they went out and bought one of these polymer stocks that were made for the molly millimeter mouser now the k-98 mouser and we got all the military parts and turned right around and put them all back together as eight millimeter mousers but they were being switched over to three oh eight and it's it's it was a fair trade it just a lot of energy spent but i didn't complain because we we got the parts for free We got the receivers for free from one end, we got the barrels and the stocks and all the rest of the hardware for free from the other side. Well, maybe I like I said, there's a point where surplus is nice But when the surplus is in the insane price range like that Obviously, it makes more sense to go out by that $200 Savage rifle that you get right now $230 will get you a scope of action 30 out six and for two hundred some dollars that is an excellent prayer with al by one now but the one right now where yeah right all of actually we were just mentioned hold on here they just i just looked at me and they could be gone but uh... we stay warm there the other day and that was over at classic firearms also center fire had one but i don't think that there's only thirty out six savage access rifle and they had a little bit of a sale on them right there what really don't know that they may have a hell of a price on them. That was the only thing that made surplus rifles useful is the fact, like I said, when you're spending under $100 for a military-grade arm, even a couple hundred dollars, depending on what it is, that's okay. A little trick on that too, let's not forget that there's a bunch of other protective shielding panels and equipment that you can pick up that's part of either for, you know, add-on to backpacks, different types of carry shields or equipment that you can actually reinforce with other panels. and i recommend if you can if you can buy it will be actual factory corporate you to start looking at all the different uh... homemade solutions for body armor there are some really great ideas that have been generated by a number of people who have been experimenting and that you can select to the flavor or you know the homemade armor you know flavor choice that that your resources and work at it experiment Now remember, you don't have to wear this stuff. Some of this stuff can just be set up so that you can armor up areas. Vehicles, doorways, left and right, so that when they plan on shooting you because you took cover left and right of the window, it won't do them any good because you've paddled all the areas around so that you have protective slash defensive armor around them.
