So just fired up the log splitter here for the first time this year. Finally got it up and running. And now I gotta make me a mountain of wood to get through the winter. It didn't seem like such a bad idea when I was a younger guy and first moved in here in 1995, but doing that year after year after year here, it's getting harder and harder to do, especially since I get more and more wood stoves hooked up here to use. So I've got one in my bedroom now, one in my greenhouse, and occasionally the kitchen, and I've actually got another building property I've fired up last year, a few days, so that's a lot of wood. If you're actually thinking of setting up a wood stove, I highly recommend looking into something called a Rocket Mask Heater Wood Stove. There are stoves now that just take a little dab of sticks and they generate a tremendous amount of heat, but then that heat is channeled underneath rock and mud and clay. You know, they form something that looks like a couch, but all of this absorbs the heat. and then a few hours and yin runs for hours, you know, slowly dispersing that heat. Look at mass heater stove. If you've got the prime and the, you know, the ability to work on things, to build things, I highly recommend looking into it. I have not done one myself, but it takes like about a tenth of the wood of a normal wood stove. You're not wasting all that heat going up the flue. produces a very tiny amount of ash because of the amount of heat it generates. It burns the little dab of wood you burn to fine-ass rocket mass heater stove. Now, for cooking, electricity will likely be out. As a matter of fact, that may be the first thing to go in the war. You may notice the lights and everything else go out, and that may be the last time you see them, folks, unless you've got a generator or something that has been shielded from EMP. You know, what you can do, you can create a metal encasement for generators or put them in a metal building that is grounded and help shield against EMP. The electronics are the weak points, but now when power goes out, you're not likely to have electric cook stoves or heaters or anything of that nature. And depending on the amount of propane that you've stored, that may not work for you either. But wood is around and plentiful. and uh... there are many videos online called rocket that use uh... breakful thing to make and all it takes is sticks you can collect you know in just a few minutes i mean ten fifteen minutes you've got enough sticks to make a meal uh... these things are very easy to make they're very easy to use you do have to keep feeding sticks into the fire to keep it going but if you design it right that's not a big deal and uh... actually uh... I've cooked meals on it, I've cooked bacon and eggs and other things on these things, just practice with it, it can be done. In an emergency situation, I can heat things up and cook here without gas or electricity. So again, Rocket on YouTube, all kind of bids on there for that.
