Mark Koernke discussed preparedness and survival tactics following a caller's real-world experience evacuating through a large wildfire in the western mountains while transporting a $200,000 beef load. The episode focused extensively on gas mask deployment, filtration systems, vehicle-based NBC (nuclear, biological, chemical) defense strategies, and the importance of having proper protective equipment readily accessible. Koernke emphasized lessons from the caller's successful use of an M40 gas mask to safely navigate through heavy smoke and particulate contamination, contrasting this with other drivers who remained in the affected area. The show also covered supplementary preparedness topics including air filter upgrades, thermal imaging for vehicles, backup transportation options like bicycles, and the strategic importance of continuous movement away from disaster zones.
More people should be like Mark. See how this works guys? Then this is the kind of feedback we need. Those other people were casualties. Mark, you were a casualty, were you? What you just experienced is what I've talked about with a nuclear attack or any other situation. You know the difference? They would still be in the epicenter of the disaster. For future generations, this legacy we gave. In this, the land of free and home of brave. The freedoms we secured for you, we hoped you'd always keep. The tyrants labored endlessly while your parents were asleep. Your freedom's gone, your courage lost, you're no more than a slave. In this the land of the free, the brave. I think it's pretty cool. Anyway, good afternoon for all of our friends. Weapons Wednesday. It is the 30th, the 8th year of open Fabian Socialist and Soviet Socialist Octation of America with a K. 2016, old earth calendar 2016, year of battle, year of storm, and 11 twelfths. You're almost there. Look at the date. Almost 11 twelfths. year 2016 are gone. First, we are counting down the hours to the end of November. And I'm going to say something, I should shut my face, but I can't help it. We have not had snow other than some flurries, little sticky stuff, which made me go, oh, God. But the good thing is the ground wasn't frozen. Well, this year down in the bottom of the lowlands here in Michigan, we right now are still putting shovels in the ground, putting cement in. I just put some rebars in for anti-vehicular use today. They're pointed towards where they're coming from and then they're camouflaged as part of the tree and brush line because you know they'll pull off and turn to the sides and that's where you shish kabob the radiator in the front end of the car. Yeah, or truck or whatever. It's okay, works just fine. And the price is right, metal didn't cost anything. Remember when it's free, grab it, put it in the ground, properly reinforce it, bolt it together, weld it together and paint it gray green and brown and... some tree branches around here and there. In fact, find some that are kind of about the same size and give a little lean or two. That'll make them disappear in the shrub line. A beautiful, beautiful day. Red sky at night, sailors delight. It looked like we had some haze to the south and that's where that loud, rainy front left and went for the day. Come back on us and it probably will. We'll see what happens. But almost through November, for everybody out there, if you haven't looked, I want to say thank you, we're better than halfway and I know we have other numbers that need to be added, but we have the end of the year drawing and the end of the year bill that we're collecting for. We aren't going to have the end of the month until Friday, today's Wednesday, but it's just because it will be easier and we can get it in there and everybody will forward. We've got time to donate to get in on this drawing. We got some envelopes in, so don't forget, we'll pass those on to Ed. There's a few more that just came in. We'll give all that information to Ed and your names will be in there from the other direction. If you would like to donate, you can donate by sending to P194, Dexter, Michigan 48130 and send a check or motor you're made out to Nancy, K-O-E-R-N-K-E, C-K-O-E-R-N-K-E, or you can use, of course, FRNs if you want to, you know, slash whatever currency. And we'll put your name in the hat with everybody else. and that goes up on the big board. If you want to know where our goal is, it's on our page, on the right side. If you want to know where we've collected, it's right there on our page. And Ed is very religious about posting the information and letting you know what's going on. So again, that drawing is coming up. The drawing for this month, one of the things I'm really liking these, I did a, some of you are going to get these, but let's just say sharp pointing objects. One of the wholesalers has got some really nice sharp pointy objects. They're not real expensive, but you know what? I've been trying to beat them up. I got two of them. I've been just beating their snot out of them. I've been outside working. They're holding up really well. In fact, they're a full-tange pointy object. I got one right here. I'll let everybody know about these later on. Right now, these are, again, gifts for the drawing. But some of you should have already got them in the mail from last drawing, last month. They are one of a kind, the ones that I have right now because I get a cross section in a sample. The one interesting thing is the quality has been very consistent for being a little less expensive knife. The sheets are reasonable, they are nothing to write home about, but they actually are serviceable. I carry it. In fact, I will probably put it on one of my other kits. It is going to be in one of the 510. I put five of them in the 510 program right away for one of the blue barrels. They are already in there. Again, the heads up on that box will be really, really big. We might have some other things in it because we've got to stuff some more stuff in there. I don't like things rattling around in the box in the box. If you'd like to donate, you can, again, go to 4mg.com and then go to the donate key and just follow the instructions. The only thing that you ask is make sure that your mailing address is correct. It's on your, when you do make a donation, there's a mailing address there, guys. Make sure you identify the mailing address that is correct and Make a notation for the drawing. If you just want to make a donation but you don't want to be in the drawing maybe because of your location, I understand. A few people said that. No, I don't want to be in the drawing because it's not reliable for many people to do that, but there's a few and I appreciate it. One of them said $100, so thank you. This did not leave the building. Again, I think we should, if we keep going away, we should meet our goal and appreciate it. We'll say thank you in advance to all of our friends. Not everybody wins or goody, but Try a bombing. Let's say a conventional military bombing, guys. What's that do? Typically it starts fire. In fact, that's one of the desired military side effects. Oh, we didn't bomb the civilian population. Our smart bombs are so smart, they just bombed this one building, which happened to have gasoline and propane and fuel and it just happened to be a government building that had lots of other stuff in it that burns and that all spied all over the neighborhood but we didn't aim for them it just happened that way. Yeah my ass. Well anyway other than the fact that that's usual government lies. The fact of the matter is guys that once stuff gets to burn the one thing is that you are experiencing mostly what was a forest fire organic burn right? Right. Okay now here's the thing add paper, add paper, plastics, what do you think it would be like then? Not too fun, would it? So how long did the area of activity last? How long before you went down the road and could actually test to see if things were clear? 15 minutes. I mean... Was that 15 minutes? Yeah, I heard the drivers complain about 1 o'clock and about 1.30 hours out of it. Well, so about half an hour. And that's being cautious too because here's the other thing guys. And this is another problem because you see radiological doesn't taste, doesn't smell. The only thing it's going to smell is what it's attached to. So this is another reason you have to pay attention to and really you're going to have to have assistance. If you're trying to get out of an area you just know ass to the blast. If something happened you turn away from the event. But then the next thing you need to know about is wind drift because again, and this is why the gas mask is so critical, If it was, since this was basically low low end chemical and slash organic, the mask was a perfect solution. Now, before I go any farther, I'm going to qualify something. I know a lot of military people are going, well the army told us not to wear a gas mask and a fire. Do you know why they did that? Okay, this is kind of like when they told people not to use tourniquets. In a barracks fire or a building fire, you have gases and thermal rise. Again, you're also looking at possible thermal acceleration very quickly. Remember that if you have a total evacuation of oxygen, the gas mask doesn't create new oxygen, guys. But what it will do is stop any particulate from again entering into the system. Smoke inhalation is mostly heavy particulate. They don't want to have to worry about you being found thinking you've got your Superman and you've got the mask on and so I can breathe because we've seen dunderheads do that. I've watched people do this myself in fires at the at the you. The guy stands up in the middle of a hallway with a fire in a room that is being totally consumed and looks like a blast furnace, right? He lasted about one, two, three. Oh, he's on the ground. Oh, he was ducked down. He could breathe there. So he just figured he'd stand up a little bit higher and not Well, remember, thermal rise, then the area above loads and progressively pushes the atmosphere, consumes the oxygen, replaces it with other gases. Gas mask is not. Is not. Provides new oxygen. It protects and screens the air from material that if it built up in your lungs would be harmful up to and including death. So the gas mask is an excellent solution. Remember an example we talked about if you ever have to clean a freezer out, anybody ever have a bad freezer with meats and fish and stuff in it, you open that door and you go, oh god, I gotta clean this out. Go get a gas mask and find out why it is you don't need to barf. Again, the same thing. The effluvia, the particulate, is what you are filtering from the system. Now that mask will load up because that's biological. You're actually, when you open up that nasty, yucky freezer, that is a biological environment. Now here's the other thing is your distance was, well, we noticed I didn't say miles, but how long? Because really it doesn't mean any difference. Your mileage will vary depending upon your ability to perform. You were able to maintain a pretty good road speed out of the area, right? Oh yeah, I was doing speed limits. 60, uh... Excellent. Yeah, about 60 miles an hour, yeah. And visibility was? That was... believe it or not, Mark, it was clear. That was what was so weird. I mean, you couldn't see, it wasn't a bunch of smoke, but I was breathing this garbage and I couldn't breathe, but the visibility wasn't that bad. Well, one of the reasons is the perception issue. Number one, your lights are actually pretty efficient nowadays, and the LED lights and the new high intensity beams will cut through the fog. We used to call them fog lights, remember? So if there is any kind of haze in the immediate area of operation, the lights will do what they're supposed to do. Well, one of the other reasons you don't notice the agent is because of the natural, I mean, what's it look like at night? It's dark. Your peripheral vision is up and down, light, dark a little bit, but still it's dark. The big thing here again is that the sensor was somebody else as the canary. Now this is why the gas mask, especially for you, excuse me, the gas mask needs to be close at hand if you're the driver. One of the tricks that I've done is I take the Russian hoses We actually have zip tied them to the roofs of some of the vehicles because I got miles of those. I got many, many, many, many of them. For instance, we use the Russian possum mask and it's just in a hanger bag. It's literally that we just zip tie it up onto the roof rail and it's right over the driver's head. So all the driver does is hit the two buttons, pulls on the quick dot releases, pulls on the flap. The mask drops down to him, he puts the mask on, and the filter is a what we call a high-sea can filter, it's the big one. So he's got more top of that because the big Russian salad can filters, the high-sea filters, they're threaded both male and female. And those bigger filters, I can screw another 40 millimeter filter in front of that. This is not overkill. The other 40 millimeter filter becomes a pre-filter. And if anything loads up and you start to have a hard time breathing, because let's say you didn't get through that area as quickly as you hoped, if need be, what you do is if the 40 millimeter filter starts to load up, you unscrew it, and now you expose the inner surface of the larger filter, which has not been contaminated, filter than the one you just took off of the inline system. You're going to be able to breathe normally, and you have more time in performance. Now in your case, the mask is modern, very, very well engineered. I'll mask our... I have not found a gas mask, I can't make work. And I can't make them out of dirt. So your mask should be, if you're going to be traveling, you should set it up so somehow it's right there near your driver's station. And behind the seat to me seems to make the most sense. It's not always in your way, but you'll know where it is. Here's another cool thing. Now that you've actually used the mask in a real environment, you realize how valuable it is, don't you? Yeah, once you use it and it actually saves your life, yeah, it's invaluable. No doubt about it. This is what the Army does to everybody, and the Navy, and the Air Force, and the Marine Corps. This is why you have the gas chambers in the military. for gassing the Christian civilians. That's later on. Talking about practicing to use your mask. They have you don your mask into the environment. You go into the environment which is already contaminated. Then what they do is they have each of you take the mask off, recite something, or dance around in a circle until you kick the agent up even more, although usually the air is pee yellow. and they can see that you are affected by the gas and then they tap you and tell you to leave. Your eyes are watering, your nose is spitting out snot like it's by the gallons, your lips are burning, you fumble towards the door and the problem is then you find out there's another poor rabbit over there still trying to get out the door that he tapped a moment earlier. Then there's two or three of you trying to get out the door. None of you can see. All of you are snotting up left and right. Sound like a bunch of goats. And then finally somebody gets the door. open and the whole pile pour out and flop into the fresh air and ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww You don't think you're going to get that outside air? That's a bunch of BS. That stuff comes right in. I don't care if it's on recycler or not. Unless you... I think we got Mike here with us. But real quick on that note, you probably could buy a HEP system for that, for your truck, which would not be bad. But because your truck is like most trucks, what you would have to do to make that work is what the military, mostly the Russians and half the Euro companies, What they do when they make an armored vehicle, they have what's called an overpressure system. What they have is a HEP filter system, a multi-bank filter system that pulls the air in, pushes the air at the center of the vehicle, and everything is positive pressure. When you open the door, the air is pushed out, doesn't allow air to come in. When the doors are shut, the vehicle, if there's lack of seal, even though they have chemical seals on these vehicles, that stuff gets old. A positive pressure system ensures that if there's a bullet strike and a failure, a gack in the, you know, a hose line or a gack, a positive pressure system pushes the air out and it's already filtered, have their system set up that way. There's still an in-line, basically a conventional pusher system taking advantage of existing air, you know, air fans and power off the engine. Either electric or, again, some are still, oh come on, what was the other one there? Actually, turbine fan driven. I don't see many of those. That's actually like a little micro jet that used to be off to the side, but it's still the same thing as a fan. Anyway, the idea is that they actually can buy these. I just looked at a company, there's a bunch of tank stuff coming in. You don't need it for your truck. I mean, you're better off doing the mass thing. I would still use your air system to do as much filtering as you can. Don't stop it, but it... Yeah, it didn't do anything to stop it, but it just reduced it. Right. Again, that alleviates pressure on your system. The more that you can filter out with the car or the truck, less that's loading up your filter which means your filter has a longer lifespan. Okay. Now we got a caller. I think we have Mike in there. Mike, jump in there please. You were discussing the deal about the key component that you forgot to describe was that you come out with your eyes closed and the snot out your nose about it. And don't forget there's three more guys right behind you pushing you into the tree. Yes, that's important. And then you're all on the ground and thrashing, right? Yes. And the drill sergeants are laughing. I tell you what, we entered the car, I heard another voice. Yeah, hi. You know, speaking about filters and everything made me consider Mark, the driver might seriously have a look at his air filter on his truck. It could be pretty clogged. Also, please, no, no, you know what, before I just qualified that and I shouldn't have, you might should check your company information, you know, base, you know, database. They may even have a modified or an improving, improved filter system you could add onto your truck. That would be because you have filter packs, right? Yeah, it's a pack. What it is, what the VC is talking about is that you lift the hood and it's right there. The air conditioner system has its own filter. Then there's another filter. Exactly. There's two of them. There's two of them. So yeah, I guarantee you they're both clogged all the hell. Now here's the thing. Here's what's really cool. Your company that produced the truck may offer a better filter They will market it for individuals with respiratory issues. Number one. Number two is if you know the model of the filter and you can identify it by type and size, go to grangers and then go to their PPE equipment, personal protective equipment. In their vast section on filters, filtration, and purification systems for safety purposes, they may have a replacement upper grade filter for that. It's in their PPE, Personal Protective Equipment. Grainger is one of the biggest I-Got-Everything companies. They don't necessarily have it all right here in the warehouse. They use other people's warehouses. But they list it, and sometimes if you're lucky, you might even catch them on a sail or a discontinued model. And again, it won't necessarily be a biological filter system, but it might be a nice higher end, like HepClean system. And it might even be a two-stage. It might offer something where you have a two-piece system that goes into the existing system, the existing, you know, casement, whatever you got. And you will see a significant change. Yeah, what this was, it was a really weird deal, Mark. I mean, like I said, I was going up, I was going through the mountains, and the worst of it was in the gullies. But, uh... Well, again, well, hold on here. Let's back up and qualify that, too. You described something that we need to expect. in the lowlands. Remember that this particulate is heavier inotipically than the air. It's floating on an air molecule, but the moment that it leaves the area of activity, the epicenter of the event, it is cooling. Remember, heat rises. As it gets cool at what? It drops lower. So yes, when you were in the lower areas, and I have mentioned this before, guys, that's a monstrous booby trap you can set up in, not with fire like this. Let me point something out, CO2 is deadly. A booby trap that somebody did here back in the 90s that worked exceptionally well is they had a stairway that came down. When you ran down the stairway, you went down a hallway, and then down a set of stairs were about 10 steps deep. Actually, the height of your head, a little more actually. There was then a platform area that was like an activities area and then you had another stairway on the other side of the room that went up again. Now the whole room was deeper when you went down that stairway. It was deeper than the average height of a six foot person. When the individuals were retreating, they had a CO2 tank already sitting over in the corner of the room. As they left, it went into the basement, blocked the doors, went down the stairs, went down into the lower floor, went down the stairway and went across the other side. They opened up the CO2 tank, which was the size of what you'd see for an oxyacetylene rig. They then went up the other stairs, kept right on going. The feds, who were following, the first one ran down the stairs, got three to four steps, fell over, and then he stopped moving. Well, the second said that was right behind him started running right up to him and then all of a sudden kind of clutched himself and he fell over. The third one put his gas mask on, ran down and did the same thing the first two did and died right next to the first two. CO2 displaced the oxygen and after the first lung full, evacuating the CO2 was almost impossible. The person was strangling from the inside. And you know what? No smell. No color. And if it had been a hut hut hut full gaggle, if it had been a hut hut gaggle of five or six fish plomping around in the bottom of that little area there, then there's nothing they could do to save themselves. Nothing. I'd say that's a pretty effective fallback defense, don't you? The same is, if I would have had that mask on and got out of it, and okay, if I... No, no, no, okay, now don't panic about where you were. No, your situation is different, but my point is the same thing. In the lower points you have greater concentration inevitably. It's going to take longer for that to dissipate. So that again when you got to those lower points, yes, there was greater increase in incident, in activity. And that's why the mask was so priceless because you might be farther and farther from the epicenter, but depending upon wind drift, and this is really... You don't know if you were driving with the wind, could you tell? It was night. I had no idea. I was wondering in the morning. I'm doing 60 miles an hour. You're unassing the AO and getting out of there, which was a good thing. This is a classic. How many times have I talked about this on the air about when the bad guys do what they're going to do to us? How they're going to do it. If you were at your home and you were with your family, and you were, you know, all of a sudden you saw the neighbors, you know, hey, Blatson's team across the street, him and his wife and all the yarmulke, you know, relatives are jumping in the van and the other guy next door, you know, Bloomberg's doing the same thing. I've always told everybody, when you see him doing that, you jump in your vehicle, you get the hell out of Dodge with him, right? It's to the blast. And this is where, again, you don't know whether there's going to be more activity to your front. Activity, secondary events, let me example is like say a small nuclear device. The epicenter goes thermal, needless to say we know about all the terrible things that happen there. Well, in the process that first thermal activity that takes place, the light intensity is such that it sets fires down range randomly that's purely based upon the color of the material. This is something if you want to do research, go study what happened to Hiroshima and Nagasaki. We have all the information we need right there. The two biggest nuclear laboratories for nuclear attack in history. They studied that more than any other bombardment event that we had in World War II or any sense except maybe the Abel and Baker tests and others like it. Now, you'd be moving away from the epicenter, but unfortunately you see where the light could pass, you know, if there's land obstacle, that would be a block, you know, land blocks, you know, that kind of energy. But, you know, two ridges over, it was in line of sight. There was, and again, the buildings, the structures, gasoline, anything that was combustible, aggressively first ignited and then, you know, continued to consume and in many cases created firestorms. Now you can avoid that to a degree. The important thing is that while you're avoiding it, you may want to roll right into something that's going downwind. It does not have to be a radiological problem to be just as much of an issue and you just experience that. The fallout and material, naturally occurring materials, think about adding more asphalt, more plastics, more eams and steams and whatever else, and all the other stuff that we use and make every day, being consumed by a greater and greater blaze. All that junk that goes up in the air goes down range. is that you can avoid it. Now at night it's harder to tell. So here's the other thing. You're better off with a percentage of your crew. Let's say that you're traveling and you have your family or you have a group of people. At least one person should have the gas mask on all the time. And I know it seems tedious, but it's precautionary because you don't have an NBC unit, an NBC nuclear biological and chemical specialist with a scanning unit readily available. Some of you do. Because of that, everybody else is like a canary. the first time you have any signs of distress, everybody immediately dons their mask. The driver, of course, could be the one that's wearing the mask. This does hinder his visibility, but it also increases your overall survivability, because who is it we don't want to see stop? That might be the best choice, but there are different attitudes on that, because again, we do have scanning technology. And again, it's just a precaution. The driver's first job in the event of any distress, stop the vehicle. Now, we're not talking about something where his eyeballs pop out of his head like two grapes and his ears, the brain zoos out his ears and his flesh melts. That's all BS in the movies. Talking about what are the typical and most common events of the NBC range of activities, and you just experienced it, thermal discharge of material, organic and non-organic material that will cause respiratory distress. You have... Go ahead. One of the other things that we're I can't stress enough was that CB gave me about five minutes warning. Yeah, we heard everybody going, gah! Yeah, that CB was priceless again. I mean, everybody should have one, man. You know, keep that thing on channel 19 wherever you go because... Let me point something out. I wasn't joking with the way I'm acting. That's how they sounded, weren't they? No, they said... I've seen so many variations on this, but it's true. And it's one of those things that's coughing you where it's like, man, I've seen that before. The thing is, again, like you said, perfect timing. So, and appreciate you. See, that should have been an immediate sit rep. I'm sorry, I'm not picking on you. But remember, this is priceless for our listeners because you don't know. And guys, what's the $12 worth of gas mask alleviates a whole lot of pain and distress. Oh, and here's the other fun thing. You're not sitting in the middle of the event, are you? You got out of there in half an hour, didn't you? Yep, I sure did. That was my first thought. Get the hell out of here. On Ask the AO. Exactly. And you did it in a timely fashion and with reasonable safety with good equipment. And you now have full confidence in your equipment because you had to deploy it, utilize it in a real world environmental situation where it worked. And I had a $145,000 load of beef on that you had to get delivered and it got delivered because I had the match. Wait a minute, how much was that? How much beef? $140,000 load. Oh no, no, it's not a $140,000 load. No, no, it's a $200,000 load. You've got smoked beef in the back end. What are you talking about? Yeah, no, it's smoked. Yeah, it rose as price as I got right. Hey, you know, you were... I saved my company a hell of a lot of money by having that mass. That's right. You saved them, but you know what? You know, I don't know why, because they were burning applewood and maple. I guarantee that meat all tastes better, and it's all because of your driving, if nothing else. Oh, you need to promote that when you get to the other end. It's like, hey, by the way, smoked beef, 200,000, right? Yeah, 200,000. This is 140,000. No, this is 140,000. Yeah, a lot of trucks didn't get their stuff delivered. Because the people just stop and they just curl up in their bed and they, I don't know what they did. It's called dying, okay, wait a minute. What if I said before about this, what happens if you stay long enough? It's called dying place. Think about it. I mean seriously, what were they doing to protect themselves? And by staying in the epicenter of the event, all they're doing is continually contaminating themselves. There's no alleviation. There's no relief from that unless you leave the area of operation. And the only way to do that is to have the proper tools. And the proper tools, in this case, was to have a gas mask and knowing how to apply it, and then utilizing it to get away from the event. Otherwise, there's no... you are not going to find relief by sitting in the middle of the place that's being toxified by a constant ongoing, what, thousands of acre fire. Not anytime soon. Yeah, that thing just went out recently. I mean, it was burning in a while. Yeah, it was... I'm going our way right now. Well, here again, and you'll emphasize, boy, I'm glad I had a... Seriously, you need to get conversations on the radio. Oh yeah, I came through here, thank God I have a gas mask. I am serious and rub it in. Well, good it is. Well, everybody else is choking and dying. There's this big pile of trucks. I just put my M40 gas mask on and I kept right on going and I kept doing my job. I'm pretty cool. How about you? Are you cool? Well, who'd you stop? Really, why'd you have to stop? Who was it? Oh, you didn't want to admit that they were not prepared. See, you can rub it in and also tell them, you need to get a gas mask. I am dead cold serious about this. See, this is how you, you know, some people, you know, need to have their ox cored, or they need to have their lungs cored. See, it'd be awful handy. And the reason I like this is because you see it puts more gas masks out in the population, because that's really what we need to see happen. It's all piled up in one place, they don't do as any good when they close, and that equipment is lost. But at least also, if you can demonstrate by example like that, oh no, I kept running gone, I didn't have any problems, I could see, I could breathe well. And I did normal road speed all the way to dropping off the load and I'm heading back. This is why I'm all excited about getting this thermal thing on the side of the truck. I mean that also isn't a biggie. That would be the next enhancement. In fact, Don was showing me some of the technology here and okay now, Asian, it makes sense especially because again, if you could put it on a heads up display if nothing else, you can plug it into a monitor. You can put it right there so it would be just off to your side wherever you feel is convenient. You'd be like a fighter pilot with a heads up display like in any one of the new modern fighters. Where you'd be able to look forward and actually see and judge, looking at real time in both directions, be able to see ahead of you under normal conditions, but if that doesn't seem to be satisfactory, take one of those little flat screens and you mount it with a little umbilical so you can move it. And you could switch out to the thermal to enhance your vision and continue to move out of the area of operation without any great risk to you. The biggest problem you'd have is other doofuses trying to drive in the same environment that you can't see at all. That would be your problem. Yeah. Well, I'm just saying, that's okay. Here again, how bad is the environment you're in? If you're talking about maybe a worse event than you just experienced, being able to use the thermal to get the hell away from the event or move past the event because you're stuck, you can't turn around and go back, the traffic. Because think about all the things that can happen you didn't see. If you're looking at a city that gets bragged, you always see it in the sci-fi movies. They did it in Walking Fred. Remember when he goes to Atlanta on the horse? The traffic lane looked like. It's that forever traffic jam with all the dead people behind the wheels. Well, if that's behind you, then your only option is to move forward and if there's any possibility of being the shark in the water, then it's more likely with that technology you're going to get through and others will give up. That works. is to be a shark. Offensive driving, you never stop moving. As long as you can put distance between you and the event, every foot counts, every mile counts, every 10 miles counts. Talk about this many times too. You drive the vehicle until you can't go anymore with it. You switch out to your alternate vehicle or your alternate support equipment. Like I said, you need a bicycle on that truck. I can pick up a huffy from a resale shop. I was looking at a real nice one here last two weekends. I keep wanting to buy it. It's only $35. It's nothing fancy, but it's just put together the way I like it. It's got a good heavy frame. It's got the extra, you know, the older style big tires, but they're the new tires and it's got the bike rack in the back and you know, all the stuff that I just, it's not fancy, but it's perfect. And for $35, I would stash it somewhere. I put it somewhere and I might still pick it up this weekend because it'll probably still be there because it doesn't look pretty but it's a working bike and you need to have a working bike hanging there like on divots behind your cab like a lifeboat. Yeah, I'll probably do that sooner or later. I'll probably get it. Well, for a few dollars, I'll even give you one. I'll give you one. How much you cord it to the back of the truck? What's the big deal? I mean, I'm not talking about a folder. I mean, you could do that too. There's nice folders out there. I've seen a lot of guys do it. You know, a lot of guys do it. Well, it's just the idea that truck is not going to fit some places, but there might be a day when maybe that truck doesn't go and you still want to move a little faster than feet. Yeah, I know. Remember, you may not be able to pedal uphill, because I know what Kentucky's like, and I know what all these states are like, like misery, okay? You may not be pedaling uphill, you walk uphill. But you know when you get to the other side, it's a whole hell of a lot easier to put miles behind you when you can coast on that bicycle. If you're stuck on foot and you have to walk uphill, then you're going to have to walk no matter what uphill. But when you get to the top of the hill, if you're just walking down, yeah, it's a little easier, but you're not making a great time. But if you've got that bike and you put your backpack on that bike and you get to the top of the hill, then you just put your hind end on that seat and let gravity suck. Yeah, well if I do it, it's going to be a motorized bike with that little dink, that little 45 horsepower motor. The little 45 horsepower, we got one here in the backyard right now. Ethan's the pro at putting those together, my youngest son, and they work. And yeah, that's another option. But I'm just saying, the bicycle itself is still worth the effort because the bike can carry your weight. You don't have to be carrying the backpack all the time. Think of this, it's just like I said, lifeboat. It's just like the truck. The truck is designed when things go to hell in a handcart, that truck is designed to get you away from the problem, not get you towards it. And then when you can't go any farther with that, you move it out of the way as best you can or you park it where you think it'll be secure and then you move on with whatever else you got. Proper planning prevents piss poor performance. It's just progressively you keep moving. In all the situations, chemical, biological or nuclear, the basic threats are still all the same. Now, needless to say, the biological You know, Mr. Twitchy, if you get Mr. Twitchy and your eyes turn out to be like grapes and they pop and your brains are oozing out your ears and the flesh is melting off you like Indiana Jones at the very end of the movie, then there's nothing I can do to help you, okay? But I'm gonna tell you right now, you're gonna see a whole lot of that. You wonder why? The enemy knows, as well as we do, when you pee in the pool like that, it's kinda hard to get the pee out of the pool. So it may be selective and yeah there's all kinds of mean ordnance that's out there, but it's least likely to be used directly against you. So the basic threats and the basic rule is they like bombing people. Governments murder people by bombing them. Governments, especially communist governments, gas people with conventional gas, mustard gas, CS, CN, phosgens of all types, you name it. Okay, CS and CN are the lowest end. below that by a little bit. But there's some hellacious capsium oil. That's pepper, pepper oil. There's some hellacious upper end pepper oil that will burn your skin. So don't forget that. But it still comes down to, again, it's an irritant. Irritants can be survived quite easily. The big thing is to have the technology that you already have on the shelf and you've actually found out that you can defeat the irritant because you put the mask on, you proceed it accordingly, and you succeed it. That's a good test run. a hell of an on-the-job experience. Everybody else should learn from this. Everybody else listening. Mark has harped on this. Mark is terrible for this. Mark used to gas people in the gas chamber. I used to run it. Mike was just calling. He knows what my job was. Everybody and anybody who knows, some people have had to do that different times. Problem is I had the NBC background. I ran the chamber, the gas chamber for division. There's NCOs and enlisted personnel of all grades. And I'm the one who, I can tell you how to burn it, all the different ways. I can tell you what the concentration is and how to make it really nasty and mean for you. Or I can have you stand there, or I can have you walk around the ground there, walk around in a circle and kick up all the stuff I've already burned. And I can double or triple the concentration just simply by moving the dust. You see? I have a respect and an understanding. It is the most common way that you're going to have to wage or have to deal with warfare and the warfare environment. but you have to have it as part battery of defense. And a gas mask is so stupid, cheap, there's no reason not to have it. And you only have to do it. It's a hell lot better than car insurance. You get to pay car insurance every month or every three months or every half year or every year. When you buy a gas mask, once you got it, it's yours. Go have a go buy another one next month, unless you want another one, or two or three. I would point out that usually if you buy three at a time, that's where you get the next cut in price. So buying three at the same time would probably be a good idea. In the case of the one that you have, Mark, that was a unique purchase and, nah, $115, you probably got the one. But now go buy a couple of $12 ones. Go buy a couple of cheaper masks. In fact, in your case, you already have the The M40, so I would recommend, although it's not quite the same mask, but the M65s, the German M65 mask, they're green. They're about $12 to $14 at main military. They typically are in size 2 to 3, which is the medium standard to large. They fit everybody, so they should fit you. More masks would be a good idea. The filters are interchangeable with the mask you have. But by doing that, you'd have the ability to defend yourself more effectively. You've got the ability to not have to scramble across the vehicle. If anyone, I'm stuck in a situation I'd be right back. I'm heading down your way. I'm going through Tennessee and Kentucky and Georgia, going down to Lakeland, Florida. I got beef on again, another beef float. Yeah, man, that's twice in almost a week you've been in Florida, eh? Oh, right. Pre- I just saw you here running the hell out of me, man. There's all kinds of heat going down south. You got work, amen. I just wanted to keep the dead end. I just had some here. I'd take care of them. On that note, now here's a question. Hey, you know what? Pattern, what are we seeing with this? Is it moving towards the Carolinas at all? Are you getting any secondary off that? Kentucky and Tennessee? Some of it, but we... You normally have fires there? Yes. And we talked about this this morning. Now, the Israelis have the Muslims burning places overseas. Whenever the Jews, the Jewish mafia, are especially wanting us to get involved, they usually do the same terrorist activity against us and then write their script. In fact, the script is already there and written. Now, what I'm fascinated by is everybody is saying the same thing we've talked to. None of these fires are normal for this time of year. Not only that, their talk in Tennessee is very snist we've had, you know, negligent. Well, the problem is that we've had them up in Canada. Canada too, and as Joe was pointing out, this time of year, especially with the moisture level, they don't kick off. There's no dry sparking or anything, or lightning on all the other BS. It doesn't happen. Pushing vehicles, it's always that pass, some idiot not thinking. Yeah, but the problem is the string all at once, and it's a whole gang of them. And again, what's happening overseas? The Israelis have either done it themselves, or they've got a problem with the locals who are either their sorry hind ends and are doing what they're doing. Part here in the US. and it's a smattering all over the country. Firemen got caught because they make the Fed big money. Yeah, plus it gives them something to do. You know, the Fed tit, and that was one of the things they got busted on before. Of course, then the government lies when the one federal agency doesn't like the BLM and then they tell the Hammonds. They try to claim that the Hammonds started a fire. Oh yeah. See, we've touched on that. So government has been caught doing this. Remember, only because of the standoff did. Or didn't say, oh yeah, beyond a shadow of a doubt, the BLM set the fire and not the Hammonds. mean jog in the memory. So get old about copper rounds, he's got gas masks, and he has radiological dependence technology. Once he's got the green power, much space, but offers a whole lot of nutrients.
