Summary
Mark Koernke discussed preparedness for upcoming militia training exercises and field operations, emphasizing combat load readiness, equipment procurement, and logistics. He provided detailed guidance on ammunition storage using bandoliers and stripper clips, food rations including freeze-dried meals and lifeboat rations, and budget-friendly gear sourcing from retailers like Walmart and Tractor Supply. The show covered water storage solutions, camouflage procurement, and field-expedient weapons including slingshots, bows, and hand tools. Koernke referenced the Seven State FTX exercise and warned of potential federal actions against ranchers in western states, drawing parallels to the Bundy Ranch situation.

Live 365. southwest, west, east, and north. Ladies and gentlemen, you are listening to us on LibertyTreeRadio.4mg.com, IndianaFreedomTalkRadio.com, we're on AM and FM microstations, CB base stations, alternate hallmark and golden spike technologies east and west of the Mississippi along with Alaska. Today's date is the 19th of March. is the seventh year of open Fabian socialist and Soviet socialist occupation of America with a K two thousand and fifteen older calendar or year of battle for everybody out there listening again It's going to be a pretty busy weekend coming up by the way. Here it is Thursday already. And yes, the Oghammer Ranges will be open. All ranges, all activities, till just after dusk. There will be some night fire this weekend. I don't know what night vision technology is going to be there, but they're going to be actually demonstrating some of the heavy weapons sites used on the .50 caliber belt-fed semi-auto guns so you get a chance to see some boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom offer you guys out there check your uh... pages uh... go to your uh... individual site pages for all people out there listening and uh... check to see if we can pull people together to put up a bunch of the gp medium towns got on site but more manpower makes it easier we can do it with six seven people per can easily that could get a lot of experience that it gets me all the tricks but if we get more manpower there we get the chance up we can get all of the uh... lighting in place rest away and it's all modular everything's there it's ready to go we just need your help to get it up and online so again check your page if you're supposed to be up at the uh... camp nagga hitch them probably be a bit of ogama too but if you're a nagga hitch them it is overbooked for personnel if you are not going anywhere for the weekend you'll be parking in the temporary parking you know how we do that we gotta be careful because it's wet now we don't tear up the grass or the uh... unused areas we use deception there guys the idea is that vehicles that are not going to be moving will be parked they'll be camo'd you know we'll we do the net overs we've got you know the fifty by fifty radar installation nets and we set them up. Everybody practices what they preach so the cool thing is everything will be undercover. If you have to leave you'll be parking in the regular, full time or the personnel and staff parking which is quite extensive but hey we'll still only have so many spaces so common sense. Minimize if you can double up, triple up or quad up to get over there this weekend. I highly recommend that you do that. Also, for our friends out in Iowa, again, Iowa's got some really big activity going on. If they get the Colonial Marine Militia National Conference in Iowa this year, then that's going to be a shift. It's the first one to take place in the ION 20 plus years, guys. So, again, there's a reason. There's more activity right now, or critical activity going on in Colorado, Wyoming. Iowa and the other western states. So with this thing going on with the 7th state FTX, maybe it's a wise move because April is just around the corner kids. It's not that far away. Now I would remind everybody if you're going to meetings or whatever, you go Minuteman prepared. Does everybody understand that? If you're going to go to any meetings or training exercises, you go Minuteman prepared. That means Combat load, all your kit, all the gear, you don't lighten anything, but you do make sure it's as light as possible as far as common sense. You know, shave your equipment out and set it up to meet your physical needs. Combat load as far as ammunition, remember we separate that. That goes into the green tags, we know how that works. But for everybody out there, you carry combat load and your combat prepped. The cool way to secure ammunition, recommendation on this, are the vinyl battle packs. You can carry 4, 5, 6, 700 or even 1000 rounds in those battle packs and they're not going to get compromised. You all know what's in them. If you're going to switch out and load up the mags, load up everything quick, you're carrying your combat weight plus your dump bags for auxiliary magazine support. I highly recommend battle ears and speed loaders. I mean, one of the guys just asked me and I just donated to five gallon pails of speed loaders that we collected of course over the years it's not the only ones I got but they were available and we're loading them up the guys that bought all this 223 this last couple of weeks I gave them a wink and a nod and they went over to New Camp Stasa because the trailers that were at Stasa's are now at New Camp Stasa and we pulled two of the five gallon pails of 10 round stripper clips for the AR-15 rifle out of inventory and now they're being loaded up and that's fine by me. Remember if you're going to do the bandolier thing you want to try it if you don't have cardboard inserts make them. Make a template everybody sit down while you're in front of the television break out the scissors use all the cereal boxes You've got guys those are really cool because you know what unlike your military boxes Which were just plain Jane cardboard you take the color and you put it on the inside you take the brown and put it on the outside you've got a nice protective sleeve that You know kind of a slick on the inside that's really cool when it comes to having speed loaders, but I've built by hand thousands of of cardboard inserts for the Air 15, M14, just a matter what you need. Grand D-clips. That helps to again, reinforce to protect you because all the pokey stuff that your bullets do and it protects them from damage. So if you don't have to buy them, you can make them. But you've got to make a template. Take one, about one of your inserts, you sacrifice it and open it up. Man put sample on it. I always do S a m P L e sample do that with a highlighter and do something makes it obvious pink red, whatever That is your cookie cutter for everything you're gonna do hell if you're lucky some places locally you got printers and they actually do cardboard cut like that they'll do cuts and you can have Thousands of them done off scrap cardboard Not corrugated cardboard, be it card stock, like your cereal boxes, your saltine boxes are made out of. And for instance, once again, we go to our resupply pods, you know, we have all over the country. Get out of your recycled bins. People throw away cracker boxes, saltine boxes, cereal boxes by the ton. There's your cardboard for your inserts. Don't have to go buy anything. Recycle, recycle, recycle. and it'll work just fine. You can staple, that's one trick that I learned, but remember the staple of the sharp end goes on the outside of that box, not on the inside. And you only got so many, you know, so far you can reach and you still got to be able to bring that bottom fold up and together. So you are going to be gluing. Hot glue does work, but hot glue, I don't know, for whatever reason, recent years, the stuff just doesn't seem to be working as well. And a lot of our guys that have built ordinance items, the way they were instructed, we're not satisfied with hot glue failures. So that's just something to consider. Hey, There's a number of different construction glues out there that are quick and easy and pretty stiff. And if you're going to do hundreds and hundreds of these inserts, use what you can find. OK, that's best. And make it so it's going to be durable. We recycle and reuse everything. I don't throw any of those bandoliers away if we've used them. They go right back into the inventory, clean everything up, wash, brush everything off, check the stripper clips, put them back together, put them out in the field again. But if you are going to be deploying, especially with all the stuff that's going on, and this is 2015, year of battle, then you are Minuteman prepped right now. You won't get to drive back somewhere and get something when the time comes. If you're going to be at a training site or if you're going to be at any meetings, again, you treat it as a combat deployment operation, as a precaution. That's a simple way to do it. guard that way. Now, another thing on that note, I will remind everybody again, I don't know what all they have and I know there's some pretty cool stuff that Freeze Dry Guy carries both in regular food dried rations and freeze dried rations. Okay, go to freezedryguy.com. That's where you can check out their inventory, but then go to 866-404-3663 Wayne or Brooke? That's Wayne or Brooke, B-R-O-O-K. Wayne or Brooke at 866-404-3663. They're selling out everything in the One Warehouse. They want to clear it out. I guess close it down. I don't know what the, there seems to be confusion about which and what and where, but however we look at it, they're doing some great buys to clear that site off a bit or completely, who knows? However they're doing it, you want to make a deal, talk to them. 866-404-3663. That's Wayne or Brooke. You can talk to them, find out what they're making the deals on. When you hear about what it is, go to their webpage at freezedryguy.com and then act accordingly. Now... on the issue of food uh... if you're going to deploy or if you're looking at heavy deployments we go in as heavy infantry if we are deploying in our even our own area of operation uh... there is no such thing as having too much there's a matter of just having whatever inventory have it is a little if there's a little extra it in the last long but uh... ammunition uh... missions as in ordinance of flares smokes heavy Illumination flares heavy. In other words, extra. In addition to that, rations. Now, I would recommend this. The freeze dry guy has, they completely sold out of the latest wave of stuff they bought that was lerp rations. In other words, a couple years ago they bought out, he bought out everything that he could get his hands on and he bought the whole shebang. All of those are gone except for, I believe, one, if not two, of the breakfast menus. Now, their freeze-dried menus, their lerps, they've got the same number of calories, no matter which one you pick up. The same amount of calories and the same reinforced vitamin base is in every lerp. Always remember that. It may have a different combination of whatever, you know, ham and in this case ham and eggs, or bacon and scrambled eggs with blah blah blah. It could be, you know, beef with chagno with poker chips. Whatever it is, doesn't make any difference, you know, beef with potato, you know, potatoes and rings. Anyway, the fact of the matter is the calorie level is the same for each of those meals. They're engineered that way. They only made different flavors so you could create the illusion you were getting some kind of different food. But they're good. Freeze Dry Guy has the lerps on sale for the ones that are left over. The newest ones are all gone by what I can see. I checked the page twice. I didn't see any change. Everything that they had listed, they sold out of. except for those breakfast rations. Now, you're looking to try and save money. I recommend you have a case of lerps to be able to deploy with you in addition to whatever else you're carrying. I carry protein bars, protein powder, food tabs, I carry MREs, I carry all kinds of other junk that I pick up that I find that's unique. and it's poked and it's packed everywhere. My combat patrol pack, it's a large, is literally bulging. I know no matter how I make that bulge, it is not going to last. However, in addition to that, I would recommend that you find, again, they've got the sustainment pouches. They're cheap, you can find them, you can attach them to the outside of your gear. They're ultra light and they're purely designed to be able to carry more stuff. They're chipmunk cheeks. Take a case of those lirps, add them to your kit. If you have to make a separate bag that's like a ditty bag, a cheap nylon, cheapest, lightest possible. Cheapest, lightest possible. We're not looking for Cordura here, we're looking for a one-way bag. If it survives more than, you know, the deployment out, fine. But the idea is that it's packed up, you've got the lirps, which are ultra light, you've got an ultra light bag, AIM might want to throw an extra water filter in there, a light duty one. And between that, you got everything you need in that bag. In fact, light duty, ultra light water filter and maybe a few extra plastic spoons. And you know what? That bag by itself can operate by itself. You eat the lerps right out of the bag. All you do is put the water in, let it sit there, and once it's mushy enough, congratulations, you got mushy food that tastes just like it was when it freeze dried, which could still be mushy food. So, it'll work for you. Anyway, I highly recommend that a case per person, again that's 20 meals, whatever it is, whatever the case lot is, check to see what he's got right now, what's left. He may not have any. If he does, oh well, we're past that. Then you're looking at, try to pick up 20, the equivalent to 20 meals in something. You can go the other way. This is denser, I have a case of these I just got in. They're the lifeboat rations. Now I go with the smaller which has fewer calories, you know, a couple hundred calories less per cube, but that's fine by me because like I said, I've got all kinds of other supplements, including vitamin supplements that I carry in the field. Food tabs, well, about the size of a canteen. Each one of those will feed you and keep you alive. The idea is that I can throw more calories, more nutrients up there because I'm going to burn, burn, burn when I'm in the field, especially chugging along, doing what I'm supposed to be doing. The lifeboat rations, one cube is a meal. Nothing fancy, kind of lemony, kind of almond flavor lemony, oily, designed to throw as much calories into the smallest space possible. Those are a good choice, two or three of those, and you got yourself a supplemental meal pack. In fact, two of those lifeboat rations will comfortably fit, and then some, into a sustainment pouch. The difference is with the freeze-dry pouches you got a lot more volume obviously you're getting a regular meal type meal everybody would expect. So psychologically it's a plus bit from the other direction. Even if you only can get some of those you can mix them. Do some of the lifeboat ration blocks and do a bunch of the lerps or whatever variation of freeze-dried food you can run into. And I would give you a little hint right now by the way I mentioned only because I don't want people to run over and grab the stuff I was hoping to buy if I had some money. Right now, at tractor supply. Oh, your ears are pricked, hopefully. Tractor supply. They've been carrying wise, freeze-dried rations for the hunting season. And amazingly enough, they have meal components over there for markdown for clearance at about $2 to $3 apiece for a two-man pouch. Kinda like lerps. So, here's the solution, or one of several. You know, I don't care if it's marked down. And by the way, this was stuff that was bought for what, last year's season, which is four months ago? Oh my, that freeze dried food must have outdated, but oh, give me a break. That garbage is good for 30 years, and 40 and 50, depending on how it's stored. In fact, we were eating stuff that was 20 years ago, back when I was chewing on it the last batch, well, 25 years old. Anyway, fact of the matter is, that the tractor supplies pretty much consist around the country they mark down stuff. Now a couple of things they've got is a camouflage netting and the burlap camo from last season. Now you might want to walk in there and see if you can make a deal to get that stuff off the shelf if you buy it all. They've got ghillie suit material and they've actually got wraparounds for doing blinds which also work well for camouflaging your... well let's see, how about your tent? or for camouflaging and creating additional horizontal blind coverage to break up your pattern wouldn't hurt. So be creative on that one. But, Wyze freeze-dried rations. They've got another company, I didn't recognize it, in fact, off the top of my head, I can't rattle the name off. But they did also have another freeze-dried line there for a little while and some of those have shown up on the markdown. So take the time, plug in, check them out. Maybe there's another way for you if you're saying, Mark, I'm poor. I can't afford that expensive freeze-dry stuff. We'll go get the mark down. Okay, now another thing. Wall-E-World. Walmart. Guys, just bought a bunch of camouflage thermal tops, woodland camo, dollar a piece, brand new, up to 3X. Well, we're at Wall-E-World. In fact, got a bunch of pants. $3 a piece. Blue jean, mossy oak, and straw. And really excellent condition. All sizes. $3 a pair. $3 for camouflage pants. The shirts, $2 a piece. Now, is it real fancy? No, but you know what? I got some stuff. I've been very patiently collecting the mossy and the real tree type stuff and the variations that they've come up with. And I've got some stuff right now that I'm really happy with that would compliment what I already have in the inventory, but I've just been cherry picking. In fact, I'm looking at a hood that I just picked up. Got the hood for 50 cents. Brand new. Guess where? So guys, check out their inventory. By the way, they've also got, they've also, it's the cycle, you remember again, Skynet bookkeeping and Skynet management systems. The computers are telling them that they got to get this stuff off the shelf. They had brand new sweats for a dollar a top, dollar a bottom. wear them once, throw them away. What are they good for? Well here's the thing like somebody asked, well what are you buying all the different sizes for? A dollar a piece? I could use them for gun cleaning rags and they're bitter rags and I'd be buying normally, but I'm not going to do that. How about if, like I pointed out, if somebody shows up wet at the house or they're at the house and something happens and they get messed up, how about I can pull out a top and a bottom and some sweats or shirts and pants and they can go home and I'm just going to say keep them. Well, they're brand new. Yeah, yeah, they're brand new in the years now. Congratulations. Wow, that's kind of like thinking ahead. You know, we're using our kidneys, okay? The other thing is for the 510 program, because they also had a bunch of the Carhartt type items marked down to like ridiculous prices, $3 a piece and $4 a piece for the coats and $2 or $3 a piece for the pants. I don't know how long it's going to last. This stuff gets grabbed by people there. It's flying off the racks and people are pulling their hair out. They're not fighting or anything. But everybody's grabbing the stuff quick. Again, cheap clothing. Yeah, I know it is. But for a dollar an item, guys, you can't beat it. It'll keep people warm. It'll keep people with their arse covered so their fanny's not hanging in the breeze. And you can pile it up and then depot store it somewhere else. ChinaSport provided it. We'll make sure we use it right. So again, check out the Wall-E Worlds, go through the middle of the store. They've been putting these racks at the front of the store, the middle of the store, and even back in the sporting goods section. They had an entire aisle that they reorganized and stacked. Hats, camouflage. Coats, camouflage. Pants, camouflage. Coats, camouflage. And all of them were like a few dollars per item. So, and some people walking by and you have a clue, I had to point out because one woman was wearing the exact same bottoms, didn't have any tops. And the tops that match what she was wearing were right there. She was like, oh, I didn't see that. Yeah, I know you did. Well, now you do. You probably should buy a few of those. Bye, bye, bye. Yeah, I don't mean goodbye. So anyway, just again, heads up because we're trying to find solutions. I don't want to hear people complaining I don't have. There's no reason not to. There are a hundred different ways we can find or pull stuff off and scavenge stuff and make it work for us. Now, A little case in point, that camouflage, especially those dusty brown mossy oaks, work really well out there in the boondocks over there in the southwestern part of the country in a lot of places. In fact, I've already experimented with them about a month ago when we were out there visiting our Colorado friends. So, with that being the case, I would point out that a lot of this stuff is as cheap as it is. You can cache it or you can use it as a foundation for your improvements with regard to say, a Murlap and Gilly suiting the equipment up. Remember, if you have a camouflage base to begin with, especially something that's already dusted and broken up, anywhere it's again a softer pattern. Then you've got a hell of a foundation to work with no matter how your gear is laid, it's going to conceal. Now then it's a matter of you being the master of that burlap to convert it into what you need color wise and to stitch it and to fret it and to put it into play to make it work for you. But there's no reason not to be able to do that. Now the seven state FTX that BC brought up I can't emphasize enough that, gee, what a coincidence. Let's see, ammunition precursor to a spring offensive. It should be just a big heads up because, well, let's see, what states would they be in? California? Arizona? New Mexico? Utah? Nevada? Oregon? You know what? Aren't those the states where the BLM all had their pre-deployments and all were all set up with a list of people to attack? And wasn't the Bundy Ranch the first target? And then Arizona and New Mexico already had ranches that they zeroed in on. And they were going from state to state, tried to have a couple in each state, and then it was going to get bigger and bigger. And let's not forget the Red River. And that's right there in Texaco. So there's a whole bunch of interesting stuff going on already. And it just happens that this FTX overlaps with that. Is anybody going to get caught flat-footed on this? I hope the Bundys aren't. Y'all will get my drift. But that's just Mark. Yeah, you know I could be goofy in that so better you'll again caution and again putting all our equipment online Make sure you got everything squared away. Make sure your water supply is built up. We're heading into dusty again guys We've got all kinds of water laying on the ground. It's all melting going away We're gonna get back into summer dusty and the farther out West you are well the less water there is laying around and the distances are greater too. And everybody miscalculates that. When we sent our troops out to Montana back during the Freeman siege, the first group, they had a bunch of naysayers that were in that group and they were pissing at me about when I said, carry more water. Now you want to know what happened? They got out there, they deployed and it turned out the ranch that they were on, because they deployed forward. Well, there wasn't any water on the site. Nothing they could easily access. They had to go for miles and miles and miles and miles and they had to go find water and then they had to find containers because Mark was stupid. Now the second and third echelon that went in there, we deployed probably from Michigan about 2000 going on, 3000 total, but we rotated personnel with the first wave. And that was the first whiny thing. There was any water out there. Well, we told you that before you left. But it's the West. I said, yes, that's my point, it's the West. So I'm going to stop on that real quick. Better to have too much than not enough. Go in with water if you're reinforcing people. It's going to take so much water to keep each man alive. And in many cases, it's not even be prepared. You're going to be the ones doing the preparing. OK, the pre-pairing. So think in advance. Act accordingly. There's a number of different ways you can do that. Hell, you can even have one transport loaded up with dollar store water if that's what you want to do. do little one you know what one pint containers or do a half gallon or gallon containers. I prefer smaller for a percentage and then spreading it out because if anything happens and there's bullets flying one container taking a hit and you're not knowing about it leaking out five gallons is really embarrassing but some you know pile of stuff taking a hit and you're not catching on but only some of them leaking out and the rest are like cells. of a body. They didn't get hit. So not all your water is lost at once. So that's why percentages, we always think percentages. I just got into this discussion with a Michigan at large, a militia at large, a Michigan unit on this very subject. about water storage and it's like well how should we do it? Wanting you know big bladders this or diaphragms I said well that's a good idea to do that because we have a lot of Coca-Cola bottling companies up here guys like you all do. Now it used to be but I haven't checked recently it used to be for our guys up in the middle of the state and up in the upper part of the state they have the Coca-Cola plants there and they used to have hundreds, hundreds of those cola juice you know containers Piled up outside. They were trying to give them away and nobody could only take so many But if you're looking at volume storage for water There's one that's like rather than looking like a 55 gallon standard barrel that you're all familiar with It's more of a cigar roll. It's really kind of interesting in fact to me that I thought they'd make great gun storage for Depoing and so we tried that and they do okay Some of the stuff I put away back in the 90s is in big, long brown with black lid Coca-Cola syrup. They store beautifully when the time comes. But they're also a little easier to roll, you know, to, I don't want to say roll, but to move in some ways, because, you know, two people get their hands around them. You can throw them in the back of a truck, run with that puppy, and, you know, bury it out in the middle of nowhere. It has water supply. Something to think about there. Next, and again on that subject, if you do have one nearby, check to see what the prices are. Usually they'll give the stuff away. In fact, take their blends. Take the stuff where it's like, well, we can't use that one because of whatever. If you're using it for utility water storage, here's another thing. Grab some big industrial garbage bags, wash them out, rinse them out with water. Don't just throw them in the thing and then fill them with water. Take the bags, wash them out on the inside with a spray hose. We don't want to just get them activated. dump them out, then put the bag inside the barrel, then take your hose, fill up that container, and then tie off the top. Then screw the lid down. Now you've got a dual containment system some guys even thermal seal the garbage bags they get the big big like 55 60 gallon bags and they got a 50 gallon barrel got lots of extra plastic to work with well they use the heat seal system and kajinka jinka jinka jinka go right across the top and now you got a water diaphragm inside the barrel that's doubly protected which is a good thing so out there again just reminder be creative there's a number of different ways you can deal with the water issue I would highly recommend again more rather than less and if you do carry it in we don't carry it out I can't stress this enough if we deploy I will repeat again if I take food in I leave it you know I brought six cases of pork and beans and you know I got some corn and whatever I got just plats let's say I did that I got a farmer or rancher. He's not rich, but he's a patriot. We have to deploy there. He's risked his life by allowing you to actually be part of that effort. And of course it helped him and it benefited him. But you know what? I had to ship that stuff all the way out there. I'm going to have to retrograde out eventually. If it doesn't erupt, she'll be eating everything and you'll be wishing you had more. But if you go with 25 pound bags of rice and you got cans of food, leave it. That's a gift from one patriot to another. Congratulations. And if everybody did that, and everybody thought that way, this patriot movement would be in a hell of a lot better shape across the board. Just that simple. So again, that's been our policy for years. If we deploy, everything stabilizes, whatever we brought in in the way of food, you know, reserve food supplies, leave it in place. If they've had a problem once, don't you think they might not have a problem again? And since that area is hot, maybe, you know, again, they back off for a while, you know, kind of like the Bundy Ranch, except there's total mis- I don't know, failure and mismanagement as far as, you know, operating that down at the Bundy end. I know that now. We did it the way we were supposed to do it. Stuff got to where it was supposed to go, where it needed to be. A logistic train was established. I don't cry about that. But the question is, again, somebody had to step in and nobody stepped up. That's what it comes down to. That's the other problem. And if you do, you've got to be aware that there's people who just get pissy because, and that can be compartmentalized and dealt with. With with that being the case and the issues the money ranch especially being an example live with it. It's secure our actions succeeded and The cost of doing that kind of business is the cost of spending what we did in resources I said a whole lot of equipment there I said I had stuff shipped in and drop shipped from the wholesalers Enough to outfit a little a little army to be quite honest. Okay, and it went somewhere apparently The good thing is I can deal with wholesalers. A lot of you have got specials or things and we were able to focus radio equipment, etc. The same is true with what's coming up next, although again, are we going to have the same kind of wide clock? Does anybody out there think we're going to have that? Please, I'd love to hear that. The bad guys are going to have to readjust. They're going to have to move faster and they're going to have to be more decisive in their viciousness. For that reason, this particular FTX could be a lot of pickle, smoke, and mirrors for the bad guys to do exactly what they did before. The Bundy Ranch, New Mexico, Arizona, then Utah simultaneously. It's what they were doing the last time, guys. Chog everybody's memory. I've got more than a three week memory span and all you should do. Okay? Anyway, we're at the bottom of the hour. I know if Ed's right there. Whoa, music break. Which would really be kind of nice. Music break. I was hoping the bottom of the hour that would happen. Well, you know how it is. Anyway, for our friends out there, again, a quick reminder LibertyTreeRadio.4mg.com, LibertyTreeRadio.4mg.com. Take the time, plug in, check out the page. We'll be back right here on Liberty Tree Radio and here candy for you. moving into an overwatch situation, dynamic, you know, fast moving. Highly automotive, as they say. Highly automotive. Anyway, real quick solution here, something I actually should have brought up. I did bring it up a month ago or two. Over at www.airsoft-club.com. www.airsoft-club.com. Now there are a number of different bags out there. There's all kinds of ditty bags. shoulder bags you can use for drop bags and stuff guys in fact they're airsoft airsoft or Paintball is the best way to go for lighter bags or bags that are going to take all the abuse you need for what they're designed to do But go to airsoft-club.com airsoft-club.com Go to their specials section First page about halfway down though they do mix these things up about every couple weeks. They have got for $10 a multi cam shoulder utility bag. Now this is not just a little bulk bag that goes down below. This I call these Confederate combat kits. It is a rectangular bag with a main body chamber that has three outer pockets that are on the flap on the top. They're big. They're each one's the size. Each of the outer pockets is the size of about a binder. The overall package is secured at the very top and the bottom with a single strap. So basically, you stick your head through and your arm through and you carry it like the old Confederate Blanket Roll. They're padded, they're in multi-cam, and they're $10 a piece. Now, when we're talking about, for instance, I'm going to carry those lerps, there's a way to do it. Now, here's the thing, when you move into an area, guys, combat operations, you don't bounce around with your backpack for the next 10, oh well, 10,000 feet worth of fighting, okay? Typically, again, if you are establishing an area of control, once you move in and they determine that this is it, this is our point of departure, drop your heavies. What that means is drop your backpacks, drop your extraneous support. and establish a point of control here and then we're going to sweep or move through the area and engage. This will also be the recovery point or a fallback point under the logic that auxiliary equipment, food support, water and medical is right there on site. Now, one of the things you can do with these bags, it's like we were talking about with medical support, if you're in an airborne unit you carry two laws rockets, in fact now they just bought laws rockets again, a government contract for the US, it's coming from the Scandinavian countries, so we're going to be buying the laws rocket again guys. Back again, back from our own inventory. Yeah, well these are brand new now, these are supposed to be brand new, they're buying brand new. I know in theory I mean that they yeah that means a scurrilous render revolution company broke out some really good space spray paint and redated them Paul smell the phantom down real good and then retain. Oh boy. Yeah, the scurrilous buggers would never do that Yes, they would well anyway two laws rockets two belts of ammunition for the squad gun in this case It could either be the saw or be the mag 58 nowadays You're given extra grenades and given extra pyrotechnics And you're also carrying two mortar rounds. Everybody goes, what? Mark? Yeah, guys, you're going in heavy. Like I told you, you're going in heavy. That's an airborne kit, as it has been traditionally established, even though it varies up and down. Yeah, we got the Viper, and we still have the Viper, but they got laws rockets coming back. The fact of the matter is that when they drop, one of the first things they do is they determine, you know, the ground coordinator, whoever it is, this first man that's still alive on the ground, that they can find. Mortarounds here! And you'll point and what happens is where the mortar section is or where they've set up or established your mortars over there for instance. Where the whatever, maybe only got one mortar tube that made it. Maybe they got the whole battery. Well guess what? You're dropping the mortar rounds over there to support the mortar section which is your mobile artillery. Now you got rid of that weight. But guess what? You still got two laws rockets and you still got two belts of ammunition. Well you're not going to get rid of those. unless they designate an anti-tank team, and if they do, they might tell you to drop one or even both of your laws rockets to an AT group that are going to be like a reaction stick. Under the logic that you're going to be facing armor, and the anti-armor contingents job is to address that problem in a dynamic way. Okay? You're still going to carry those belts of ammunition because your squad gunner needs to be able to continue to function. And if all of you are carrying more ammunition for him, he can continue to man that heavier weapon and put bullets down range. Okay? So there's the basic formula. Now these little multi- these are not little, these multi-cam pouches, I thought of something really kind of cool. Grab one of the multi-cam shoulder bags that is one of the lower hanging bags. They're about like eight, nine dollars. Grab one of these Confederate backpacks, these Confederate multi-utility bags, and there you go. That's kind of some real quick web gear to be able to stow somewhere. But for my purpose, the idea behind bringing this up, you got a whole bunch of lerps, you got a whole bunch of extra rations. Stuff them into a bag like this. You carry it in, you drop it where you have to, or you feed off it as you go because you're still moving. Maybe you're traveling, you're infantry. Maybe you're going to go 24 miles today. You know what, you're going to eat three meals if we have our way. Might be doing it on the march, might be doing walking. So don't worry, as you're walking even, your combat load will get lighter. You won't like that after another week and a half. Okay. Real quick, you'll realize, man, I wish my backpack were a little fuller. That's just going to happen. Anyway, we got a caller. Caller, jump in there. What's going on? I don't think we lost our caller. Yeah. Yeah. There we go. Go ahead, jump in there. Well, you know, it would hurt to be able to snag some bunnies and pheasants along the way or whatever it might be out there with a slingshot. But you can shoot a bow and I shoot an arrow. A slingshot, snares, everything. Yeah. Oh no, that's part of your house load. In fact, a wrist rocket is so stinkin' cheap. They've got Chinese wrist rockets. Right now they're as nice as anything we used to get back in the 60s and the 70s. and they're cheap and ammunition is a purely matter of creativity. Marble, ball bearing, accurate. Yes, they're accurate and powerful. Whatever that fine round rock is you find next to that stream bed is a little tinier. Ball bearing. Exactly. So again, that is true because supplement in the field is going to be needed. A lot of people talk about carrying a game getter weapon. Well, that's an option too, but wrist rocket. Air rifle, light air, small air pistol will do just fine. But there's a number of different solutions. The one nice thing about the wrist rockets and the slingshots, your ammunition is laying everywhere. And I don't want to get shot by some of those either. Like I said, if you have been to the slingshot channel, you hear laps when you're shooting the ballistic gelatin and that big 60 millimeter ball bearing gets stuck right in the middle of the ballistic jelly and he goes, oh, that would hurt. Yeah, and you got to remember a moment earlier. He shot one that went straight through everything and he said oh, that's not what I wanted I was able to shoot my 20-inch arrow about 25 yards and hit my target every time Of course you gotta use a little O-ring and a ring like a key ring in the middle held there by maybe some zip ties or something he can use it even better than that but Actually, you could come up with all the cool materials. You could come up with a frame and build it so you could just use thumbscrews to lock it into the frame. Yeah, why not? I've gotten fished with it. Yeah, well, there you can do that. A little trick, if you've got a C-Wreck can or something, tape it to the front of your sling, your slingshot, and use your fishline, tie that to the arrow. Absolutely. You know what my primary reel was on my, I've actually still got one set up this way that I've had for more than 30 years, it's a recurve. The one gallon metal fuel cans. Now everything used to come in those one gallon cans. You cut the top end out, you know you got the metal strap handle that goes across the top? Okay, well what you do is you cut, you go four inches from the top of that can and you cut that off. You cut the can all the way around with a set of snips. Okay? Now the handle, you take Mr. Duct Tape or Mr. Electrical Tape and you station the can. Oh, wait, forgive me. I'll do one more thing. On one half of the can, take the side where the little screw lid is on the can, cut that whole half top out, but leave the upper ring, leave the steel upper ledge ring of the rectangular top of the can so that it's reinforced. Now you take the handle, line that up so that your knock on your bow allows for, you know, to be literally the arrow will sit just a little under the center of that can part that you've cut open. Now the next thing that you do is you take whatever line you're going to use, tie that to the bow on the upper end of the can, above the can. You can even drill a hole in the handle and lace it into the can. And then however many feet of line you want to use. Actually, I've been using fly tie line for years, you know, fly line. And tie the other end to your arrow. And guess what? What you do is when you wrap the line around the can, you run the arrow back through and lay it on the knock. And now you have a uniform release so that the line doesn't get tangled. And it slides right off the can and heads straight towards the fish with no resistance. The arrow travels through the can. Go ahead. Right. Right on. That's good, that's good. Yeah, anybody can build them and the biggest problem is you don't see as many of the metal cans around. So we've got to watch for a plastic one, break out some tin snips and try the same thing, see how it works. Oh sure. Anything. You keep going at it. You fill up with something. Yeah, all from junk. That's the whole idea. Well, the other thing about the wrist rocket you're talking about the arrows, you know, we actually this is weird We you just brought up something I was thinking about a few days ago We were actually going to talk about because we were discussing slingshots again, and it was one of things that guys You know you're running an arrow or a dart in fact if you if you didn't go with the arrow you could make darts similar to the Traditional dart the way it's supposed to be made And what you do is you put a knock on it and you use the wrist rocket as the projector. And what you've got is a really monstrous thing going down range. You know, with a nail like a spike stuck in the front sharp a little bit. You know, a little bit more tapering a little more. Now when that gets to the other end, depending on the range, oh that nail will be buried. And not only that, you can even do indirect fire with that where you can actually fire that like a bow. And you could launch that out and the weight of the dart itself would assist in damage at the other end. Remember, dart throwing was not a friendly competition for fun. Dart throwing was target practice. originally when you hear about like if you read books you listening like you know a lot of dark and arrow coming from the wall of that fortress well the traditional dark was not the real fine lean body like you see these new competition metal darts the dart was like a water drip like a you know a teardrop only stretched out longer and the thickest end was about the size of the pon- like if you put your hand together you know from your index finger to your thumb that's how big around, about like a toilet paper roll but imagine it tapering back to the rear and then you use your duck feathers or chicken feathers for the stabilizers and on the front you put a sharpened spike now you drop that from five stories up on someone's beaner and I'll tell you what it buries itself so it didn't have to be somebody firing across bore somebody in the against link shot route there to just like you talk about but then taken combine those were retake the slingshot and you make up a recovery you know a a guide to pull back the uh... the elastic and you're using a dark like that all that would be wicked all you need and actions i've never met you could keep looking at taking pigs with axes I just saw, I finally, you know I've been talking about wanting to get one and I'm telling you down the street here, the S-wing battle axes guys. Guess who's carrying them big time right now? Home Despot. Home Depot. Seriously, Home Despot has got, they've got a promotional going on right now. I should have mentioned this too, thank you. They've got the new double-edged battle axe, you know, S-wing. And I'll tell you what, it is sweet. The only thing that is as nice is they've got their new axes. They've got a mid-sized axe that is almost a classic Viking battle axe. Seriously. In fact, I put the two of them in my hands. I had the small one in my left hand and the big one in my right hand. And it's the perfect combo for hacking and chopping. Seriously, I mean I feel right. I kind of like the that's a good axe too. I like the half between axe and a hatchet has a slightly curved handle at the bottom and one side of blade. I like throwing those too. Those are really good. I like the look of those throwing those. I thought I would also take them with a hatchet by the way pigs. That's my shot. You got to give them the head. Well, think about the battle action and what's going on. You gotta run a real quick if you're knocked out completely or dead, you gotta take them out. Boy, again, it's gonna be a, it's a cleaving tool, so as long as you get energized, you should be able to deal with a problem. You know, years ago, the big thing was, kinda like what you saw in Rambo, where they got the idea for doing what they did in the movie. Rustic pig hunting was back in style, back about the time they did the movie Rambo. And a lot of guys were doing, you know, pole pig hunting. And what you do is you pick out a nice piece of ash or oak and you flute it through the center. You woodburn flute it. And then you flute the sides here and there, creating blood channels. Blood, you know, actually vacuum breakers. Then you pitch, what you do is you heat the wood, heat the tip, and then you sharpen the tip within the traditional form, typically in a cruciform type blade. And the idea was go to town and try and get your pig. And that's where you saw that whole thing in Rambo. He had the survival knife. Well, there's guys that were out there at the time when that was going on. They were out there, you know, doing the, you know, let's go hunt the pig on foot and with a really sharp, pointy, well-honed stick. And they were doing pretty good with that. So, battle axes, oh yeah. Yeah, that's the Vlad Gifs thing. Dracula liked using the axe for pig hunting, by the way. Most people don't know that. Yeah, use the spirit. Yeah, take it if you got the if you got the spike in a chart. They'll take those boards will charge you Oh, yes. Oh, yeah, and they yeah stop them dead in their tracks with that spike because they're coming in and then you cripple them and but they're still able to maybe get loose but you run up real quick and you have bash them in the head with a hammer real hard right couple times and a couple times war hammer or you know, they can Well, remember, the same theory... Well, the same theory we're dealing with right now, we were just talking about it, you know, there's nothing that's changed. We're right back to the Middle Ages with regard to the type of body armor, you know, philosophy. We've come and gone from that. We're back into the Armor Age, guys. So you want things that poke through things. You want things that open stuff up like a can opener, you know? and that's what we're talking about. In fact, the Eagles Claw, I'm waiting for someone, I believe somebody who is it, I think Gerber is making one now. I know that Ontario Knife, a couple of the companies are making really crude and rude simple blades and like this S-Wing battle axe, the one thing I can see about that, man, if you want to practice throwing that, it's all one solid piece of metal and it isn't going to give. I'll guarantee they stomp that on an 80 or 100 ton press. You know, it's one piece. So it's a beautiful piece of steel. Oh yeah, Ontario. Ontario, they're good. I like Ontario stuff. They have some. Well they're making, they're making a... Not too fancy, but basically it's made to last. Yeah, it's a working blade. They're making gladius's right now along with Gerber or several other companies are now making Gladius, you know, the old gladiators, you know, or slash, you know, the centurion swords. They're making several different kukri machetes. They've been doing that for a while. And now they're doing, they've even done an Eagles Claw, the, you know, the Talon on one side with the eight point war hammer on the other or six point. And that's something that I didn't expect to see for, I figured we'd have to build it, but hey, someone else is up on the swing, so yeah. It's worth it, they're worth picking up and they're keeping the price between 29 and $50, depending on how much steel and how much work they've had to do. Yeah, it's not like your Rambo knives because they're like almost $109. You know, it's not that fancy, but it's basically made to function. Eight of an inch to a quarter of an inch shank for the stock. Yeah, for the thickness of the blade, and it's a carbon steel that's well made or stainless. So, a lot of mass there. Yeah, the other thing about these S-Wings is they are coming. You know what really is funny? What everybody really liked about the S-Wings is they've done a really good job with the carriers. They went with leather and with most of them and they already scrolled, cut on the outside. So everybody goes, I like the carrier. It's like, I really like the blade that the carrier is covering. So in fact, they had a rack. First batch that I ever threw with the S-Wings. First batch that I ever threw for target practicing was an S-Wings, just for fun. leather stacked, leather stacked guard, you know grip? Yeah, I like leather stacked, those old ones. I've got one that's so old, well yeah the thing is I got one so old that the leather all has finally died and fallen off and I'm trying to figure out where I want to go with that because I can cast plastic around that but I like the leather and the thing is that you know I handle it. I was just looking, I've got all the cutting tools to do it, all the sculpting tools. So it's a matter of sitting down. In fact, I even found a piece of grade B hide, a quarter inch thick, which is perfect for doing the stack leather rings like that. So it's just a matter of taking time. The tool itself looks terrible. I need to be punished for what I have done. But it will clean up. They have good epoxy these days, they're pretty good. Well that's the other option I was thinking of going with. I'll tell you what, the other thing here real quick before we forget, oh hell, are we almost to the top or we're at the top?
