Summary
Mark Koernke discussed cold weather preparedness, military surplus equipment sourcing, and ammunition availability. He recommended specific gear items from suppliers like Sportsman's Guide, Coleman's, Maine Military, and UNAMMO, including insoles, socks, mittens, and various ammunition types (5.45x39, .303 British, 30 carbine). He addressed caller questions about treating old military ponchos with vinegar and Gibbs lubricant, emphasized the importance of distributing spare socks and gloves across multiple uniform pockets for field survival, and warned about Washington State's new gun tracking legislation. The show included extensive practical advice on gear maintenance, equipment salvage and repurposing, and battlefield deception tactics.

Live 365 The freedoms we secured for you we hoped you'd always keep. But tyrants labored endlessly while your parents were asleep. Your freedom's gone, your courage lost, you're no more than a slave. In this the land of the free and home of the brave. You buy permits to travel and permits to own a gun. Permits to start a business or to build a place for one. On land that you believe you own, you pay a yearly rent. Although you have no voice in saying how the money is spent, your children must attend a school that doesn't educate, and your Christian values can't be taught according to the state. You read about the current news in a regulated press, and you pay a tax you do not owe to please the IRS. Your money is no longer made of silver nor of gold. You trade your wealth for paper so your life can be controlled. You pay for crimes that make our nation turn from God and shame. You've taken Satan's number. You've traded in your name. You've given government control to those who do you harm so they could burn down churches and seize the family farm. And keep our country deep in debt. Put men of God in jail. Harash your fellow countrymen while corrupted courts prevail. Your public servants don't uphold the solemn oaths they've sworn. And your daughters visit doctors. So their children and people, your leaders send artillery and guns to foreign shores. And send your sons to slaughter fighting other people's wars. Can you regain the freedoms for which we fought and died? Or don't you have the courage or the faith to stand with pride? And are there no more values for which you'll fight to save? Or do you wish your children? to live in fear and be a slave. O sons of the Republic, arise, take a stand, defend the Constitution, the Supreme Law of the land, preserve our great Republic and each God given right, and pray to God to keep the torture freedom burning bright. As I awoke, he vanished in the mist for whence he came. His words were true, we are not free, but we have ourselves to blame. For even now as tyrants trample each God given right we only watch him tremble too afraid to stand and fight If he stood by your bedside in a dream while you were asleep and wondered what remains of the freedoms he fought to keep What would be your answer if he called out from the grave is this still the land of the free? Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen. This is the second hour of the afternoon intelligence report time our country one day closer to victory for all of our brothers and sisters both on and behind the lines in occupied territories west southwest east and north ladies and gentlemen you're listening to us on liberty three radio dot four m g dot com indiana freedom talk radio dot com ron am and f m micro stations cb base stations and UltraNet Technologies east and west of the Mississippi along with Alaska homework network from the top of Maine to the bottom of Florida, the bottom of Florida across the arc of the Gulf of Mexico. Where the restaurant crews, grandma teams, OK teams, and the Ma Bell Grammar Consortium of retired telecommunications workers bring us the gold spike. Many hands make for light work. A million Biddycoat Junction operators. Well, we would kind of hope. We'll see what happens there. Anyway, for all of our friends, it is a beautiful Thursday evening, afternoon to evening. Of course, it's already dark outside. It's 609 Eastern time here, and the sun is gone. It is dark, it is gray, and it's been a piddly rainy day all day today. So we expect it to continue to be doing what it's been doing. I'm not surprised by that. But for all of you out there, again, pay attention to the environment. Make sure that you, again, take your Gore-Tex or your Pancho with you. You're going to need it. And headgear. Also, if you get wet, change the junk out before you go back out. If you've got wet socks, don't you go out with them tonight like that. Peel them off. That's what you've got spares for. Put another pair of socks on, then head on outside. But don't go running back and forth. Remember, cold kills. Cold hurts in cold weather like that. Wet kills. Wet will pull moisture, you know, forgive me, wet will pull calories, moisture transmits. We use it to cool down cars for a reason. So cold kills and it doesn't take much. This is especially that comfortable period where people make mistakes. Now I mentioned something earlier. I wanted to bring these up. Sportsman's Guide, for everybody out there listening. www.sportsmansguide.com Buy extras and this is a good price as far as I'm concerned. I've seen what they're going for wholesale. I can buy them from the jobbers and this really is about the same price. 10 pairs of new German molded insoles. These are built for the combat boots. They also use these with a low quarters by the way, your dress shoes, and they work with the combat boots. 10 pairs of new German molded insoles for $15. Now they come in sizes. I'm bringing this up for a reason because I know guys that need them. Eight, nine, ten, and size 11 in these. They're white, they're an insert, they're also again perforated to allow for air to pass up front. They are again a crush type sole. They are eventually going to wear them out, though they're designed to be that way guys. Better this sole wears out than the actual base sole of the inside of your boot. Okay? Let this take the wear and tear, throw them out when they're really junked up, or if they get wet, toss them out, put another pair in. The 10 pairs of new German molded insoles, they are $15, that's for non-members. They have another one though. They've got eight pairs of new Belgian military surplus insoles. Now, the German ones are a little cheaper price-wise. In the case with the Belgian model, which is item number WX2421305, it's eight pairs for $20. That's eight pairs for $20. But I believe those go a little bigger. They do. So if you have a size, actually size eight, size 10, size 11, size 12, size 13, or size 14 boot. Here's the ability to get an insert or spare inserts to put inside your boot and keep the wear and tear down and keep your feet a little drier too. They get mucked up, pull it out, put another pair in. What's the big deal? So again, eight pairs of new Belgian military surplus insoles. These are for the combat boot, but they also, guys use them in the low quarters too. That's why I was pointing out it was a neat trick, especially if you're in an office environment and you're on those tile floors all day. It makes a hell of a difference to have a little bit of an impact sold in there. So we go pilfirm from supply and use them on our low quarters. It's that simple. Well, these things are pretty reasonably priced. Eight pairs for $20. That's without the membership. And they have them in size eight, size 10, size 11, size 12, size 13, and size 14. Most people don't think about these trinket items. These are the things that nickel and dime you to death otherwise or you're always short because you don't have any or you can't find what you're looking for. If you buy these put a couple pair right into your combat kit. Put a couple pair right into your backpack right away. They're too valuable especially down the road You're going to be walking you're carrying 60 to 80 pounds of combat gear You're pressing down on that foot with how many pounds of applied pressure every time you step Well, you wear things out kids So this is a solution again the 10 pairs of new German molded insoles. Those are $15 for 10 sets The Belgian ones are 8 pairs for $20 but the Belgian go a bigger size range. So you might again, if you guys got big hoofs, you're looking at a 13 or a 14, they do have them. Now they also have the 8 pairs of New Dutch military issue insulated boot liners and those are running $20 for 8 pairs. You're going to couple dollars a pair for each of these items. These are priceless for keeping your feet from falling apart or failing you when the time comes or why create additional stress When you don't have to? Okay, that's what we're looking at here. So take the time check this out. Maybe you've got a better solution Fantastic, but at least we can give you some ideas Also, they still have the two new military issue Croatian long-sleeved shirts Those are supposed to be in good sizes. Check them out. See if they're worthwhile uh... definitely again it's a always spot check uh... the the clearance section and the special deal section wherever they got all the using deals and how amazing they are but they might have some deals you never know so definitely worthwhile there I don't know about their socks and as far as surplus socks go guys, it's been few and far between as far as what we can find in the way of surplus socks for a good price. And I mean even in the wholesalers. Used to be under a dollar a pair made sense and was common. That's not the truth anymore. I haven't seen cheap field socks for quite some time. The best price is through Marspec. They're a wholesaler and they do have some lighter weight long boot socks for 80 cents a pair but they're and again they're in a tan brown a coyote brown color and they are again beyond calf height so they will work with a lot of the taller boots out there a lot of guys been picking up but beyond that catch this catch can whatever you can find if somebody's got something jumping out at them that I missed in terms of socks posted on the chatroom because again we'll share with everybody socks and headgear both of those items have gone stupid price and yes, so have the gloves it should be only a few pennies more but instead it's been dollars more and you actually are forced to almost pay as much if not more for a hat than you would for a blouse for a shirt which is ridiculous Don't ask me. It's fascinating to say the least because I'm pretty sure there are just many hat manufacturers over in China as there always have been. I guess maybe the Koreans have been bumped out of the market because I don't see the Korean surplus or the Korean aftermarket stuff out there like we used to see. Then it appears that the Chinese have pretty well pushed that market the rest of the way. Maybe everybody has agreed to step aside for each other. I don't know. If I could still find some of the Korean military surplus, I'd be buying it. Because the Koreans, by the very nature where they are, and the fact that they established their equipment based on American systems, typically did pretty good work. The biggest problem is trying to get more in, but man, we've done everything we can to punish our South Korean ally. We don't provide any avenue for them to bring their stuff in. Now, Communist China, oh yeah! But you know everything from a case to you name it but remember when the Koreans try to bring the day we rifle in oh we pissed right in their face on that one and The day we'll some automatic 223 rifle would be the rifle of choice kids an excellent choice an excellent choice anyway Let's see knocks armor military style duster jacket. Oh, we got better than that. Oh, it's go ahead caller. Who do we have? Cushions, sole socks from Coleman's I just bought five pair they're 50% wool or something. They're very good socks. Five pairs for $19.95. They're cushion sole, they're wool, they're warm. Been down here in Louisiana. You see your feet still will get cold and they've worked for you guys up there. That's $4 a pair though. But those are good socks. I've got them right here. That's as good a prices and mostly wholesale right now I'm looking at wholesale prices at about the same price. Yeah, so you're that's a good price as Coleman's is that in their clearance section? I can't be I can't John work sock six pack for so a minute. There's let's see if those are gone Those might be gone. Oh this old out. They had six percent dollars right there Now these are this number is zero for I'm going to their footwear right now just to see where those are. I know they've got socks. I should be in there with the socks. I've also got a couple of United States Navy issued cold weather masks. Two for $14. They're neoprene with eye covered nose and my very... Are those the OD green ones? Next one. Okay. Two for $14.95. their clothing instead because I see they don't show the socks there. There we go. I found them. Okay, I got them. See, their site's a little unique. Okay, here we go. Five pair of Cushion Soul socks. Those are GI issue. Yes. Five pairs for $20. That's a pretty good price. That really is nowadays. Very good. Thank you. Oh, they do it. Whoa, wait a minute. Right below there though. Top quality government issue cushions sold socks at rock bottom prices made from 50 50 wool 30% cotton 20% nylon 10 pairs. Oh, they're well, they're extra small anybody got tiny feet out there 10 pairs for $10 guys My feet are size 12. Yeah, see we're going the other way, but if anybody out there is an extra small They've got socks cushion sole US military Brand-new 10 pairs of extra small for $10 and a dollar a pair you can't beat By the way that sleeping bags to keep me warm. I'm muting up the German ones The one you sent me that the zipper didn't work. So yeah, I cover up with it every night and go to sleep thinking about you I'll tell you what, everybody's still trying to get it. Remember we had it, we filled the house up with those twice, guys. And everybody wishes we could still get more. And the problem is, I was just looking at sleeping bags, you know, that's another category that just dried up. The Dutch ones are coming in, which are a three-piece system, but they're not as, they're not as, they're dry. I mean, obviously they will be if they're a three-layer system. They are not like the ones we picked up before. They are not as good as far as comfort goes. I find anything under $30. The problem is again, I have been talking about that source. They have had no sleeping bags coming in. They are the people we used to buy the truckloads from, if not from Uncle Sam. I have bought many from Uncle Samuel. Will there be no more 545 surplus ammo coming in for a while? Well, I don't supposedly, I'm sure they cut it off, but whatever 545, the 53 grain, your best bet is to search around. I know that Amaleman, I believe Amaleman.com has some, and that's a good question, because I looked right at that and I didn't check that yesterday. I called one of the companies. UNAMMO has some of it right now, the 53 grain in the cans, and they're out of Arizona. But to be quite honest, UNAMMO is closer to you than... They probably bring it right across 10 from Arizona. But I believe that amoman.com still may have some in stock, because they just reused it. Amoman.com. Oh, I just screwed that up. amo man dot com. But that's it. That's all that they show. And that is $190 for 750 rounds. That's the one that went into Afghanistan. And the load works, nothing wrong with that at all, but the problem is they finally figured out that we're using it, I think. So the 53 grain, www.unmo, let's go over there. I am there, I'm looking. Yeah, let's scroll down and they had it in the cans, but I don't know how much they have left or even if they sold out, because I know they were going through a lot of it. Also the 60 grain projectile, I know that that's been coming through in wolf, but remember wolf's rushing and they're blocking that. So whatever's out there in that, whatever's left is left and when it's gone, it's gone. I'm still scrolling down and I don't see the what's a good thing you made me go over here though because I can announce that Apparently he made some kind of oh no he didn't make a very big deal He's got some US military carbine ammo early 70s manufactured non-corrosive one case 500 rounds for 370 dollars if you go pick it up or 390 dollars if you have it shipped and that's Lake City Armory 30 caliber ball made in the early 70s that was probably the one of the Vietnam contract cases because back in the day we were making it for Vietnam a lot of carbine ammo and this is Lake City ammunition 1970s production so it could be you know either for Korea or could have been for Vietnam most likely Vietnam and there is some carbine in the hamcans you've got two of those 600 cartridges, caliber 30, ball M1, 600 rounds per can, and they want a chunk of change for those. If you buy both, you will get the original wood crate. Oh, it's a full crate, so two hamcans together. And that's 600 rounds per can. And it's $525 for 600 rounds. Woo! But it should be in the stripper clip. Oh it is. Okay good. It's in the Hamptons and it's in the stripper clip. So that definitely makes it a little more worthwhile. Now on the 545, which is what we're doing. You get 2100, you get two cans. There we go. 160 rounds, 450 delivered. Still, yeah, 490 delivered. And again, that's still worthwhile. It's not as cheap as it was, but it's still cheaper than most. and that's in the cans, in the crate. Yeah, I'd say do it as you can. Yep, I would highly recommend just keep buying it. If you've got a 5.45 rifle, just keep buying that 53 grain bullet for as long as you can. When that runs out, go the next flavor of the day, but I'd go ball ammunition first. Oh yeah, that. Before I go the hollow point, I'd go the ball, because it's devastating as it is. Remember that, see the 5.45, especially when you get up to what will be that 60 grain bullet, That has either the hollow cavity in the front or that's filled with plastic. And for all practical purposes, when that hits, it was intentionally designed. It'll penetrate if it's a head-on. But once it makes contact and realizes it's got something to distort it, Then she'll tumble left, right, up and down there. No way to know where that bullet's going. That's why they called it the poison bullet. Yeah, it's a monster. And again, for what it was designed, even the 53 grain, now the 53 grain, if we cut it in half, you should see an air bubble in the front. There is. Yeah. Now if you cut the 60 grain, it probably has, it depends on the year, and I don't know what year all this stuff was made. It has a plastic fiber filament. It's fine granulated plastic. I believe the reason they did this is because the 53 grain technically, either for dynamic issues, but I think it could have been Geneva Convention. Because for all practical purposes the 53 grain bullet was just a terror when it hits. When they went to the 60, they still have the same potential, and they did increase the weight of the bullet to try and get more range. That was part of its stability and range. In the process, they decided first to go with the airspace. That's the earliest 60 grain or 62 grain. Then they went with the plastic filament filler. Now it did not change dramatically. The weight, they're just very, it's like angel dust. but uh... it still had the greater to to the weight of the bullet which i think is why you get those oddball while wait about like you know wait wait spec like sixty two great uh... out of it but the reason for that was to possibly fill that gap and eliminate the uh... propaganda issues down the road all-time you feel like all the using a book of people are supported by what bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob bob I'll tell you that. It's not all the same materials filled with, but it's a solid projectile. Secondary, 545 by 39, I think would be the 762 by 54 surface would be a good... Those would be the two right... Well, it's still, they're still the two cheapest. I mean, look at what's happening, despite the fact that nobody's talking about this, guys. Ammunition is going out the door as quick as anybody can buy it, and in fact, with what we just saw with what happened in washington state if i lived in washington state number one i'd be taken every dollar i got in my end weapons because what they just did is they're going to want their they've already said they're going to push the rest of the tracking system that and this was the progressive first step well number one uh... any weapon that's not paper you should buy it if you're in washington state they should be grabbed whatever they can the other thing by all the ammo you can and never under any circumstances agree to any house search or you know again the house inspection which is going to be house inspection it's going to be some pig with a clipboard and some cops trying to search your house so someone's going to get shot because I guarantee they'll try and push it they'll push it to the limit and their logic is that everybody will bend over backwards well someone's going to just bend them over backwards and put them on the ground they'll just take your heads off and when that happens then all hell is going to break loose Because they won't slow down. They'll turn around. They're stupid socialists. They're arrogant, stupid socialists, and they'll go rabid, and then they'll have to be shot the rest of the way. So just something to think about there. Hey Mark. Go ahead, call her. Yeah, this is Henry out in Jefferson. I had a question for you. I had, well I have, this really killer poncho. I mean it's a heavy, big and heavy, the best one I ever had, but I bought it from a American Army surplus and they packed it in some kind of powder and the smell of it, I can't use it. It may not have been packed in powder. Is it the older style heavy gauge like plastic, not the nylon poncho with the rubber outer? It is, yeah. Okay, now I don't know what we can really do for that depending on what era that was made. If it's the 50s, that's all I carry mostly are the 50s era ponchos. Those are made in the heavier gauge material. There's a cotton nylon striation through it, but it's a solid heavier poncho. It's actually quite durable. The thing is, before that, they used a different type of polymer from World War II to Korea. That may be the one you're dealing with. They were heavier gauge still. They're actually almost like tarps in terms of their gauge. But the problem is that the material itself breaks down. Now they went away from that with the tight TA-56 gear. That's the one that we typically use when we went into service during Vietnam. And after Vietnam they were priceless. During Vietnam is when they introduced the nylon with that outer rubber coating. And that powder is the same way. You can't get rid of that smell. I mean, what you do is wash them. But the problem is I don't know what it is about this stuff, but when it breaks down it literally is breaking down because it is an organic. So whatever plastic they chose, and I've never done any deep research on it, but I know historically from all of them that I've handled millions of them. Well, not millions, but I've bought those by the ton. The rain suits are made of the same material. If it's the newer ones, can they powder out? Then they just there they break down. It's part of a mechanical process where they literally were designed to be flexible and lightweight and still waterproof But they have a limited lifespan, and that's why a lot of those are gone from the system One of the things you might try if it's the canvas material is vinegar If it's because it's either gonna float or sink right take a tub put a couple caps full or like your wash tub and you're in your bathroom you're in your washroom or take a wash tub Put some warm water in that hell yeah, then take a cup maybe a quarter cup of vinegar Pour that in and mix the solution up really good and then take the poncho stick it in there and get it completely Submersed and keep it on if you got to put a rock on it put a rock on it and let it sit and see if that helps I'll give it a go. The other option is something I was thinking about because I've got some camouflage nets I've had for a long time and I'm going through all my camo nets right now. Gibbs, lubricant, the leather barn, we haven't had the guys up in a while, I was going to have them come up on the air. The guys that work with Gibbs start recommending this for everything and the leather barn use it for leather curing. It works to restore old leather just like bear grease, only it's better. The leather doesn't crack, it makes it supple again. Well, they're arguing and they said it works on plastic the same way. So it might work on these ponchos to restore them. What you do is you give up a rag. and then rub the surface, the outer surface, to clean it up. And what it does is it reintroduces the polymers, you know, the petroleum products that are needed to resurface and to soak in and resupple the material. I don't know if it will work with our ponchos. Anything would help. But the problem is I don't know if we can get rid of that smell and that smell is something you will find at night You know, that's the other problem. We're trying to be stealthy. That's exactly what I thought about it, man Yeah, that's no you can see I'm a mile away because I've done that I've been in the field back in the like in the 80s when we were deploying Like I said two things I could find a hundred and twenty men with a rainy night like this like right now If they hadn't used their gear and they pulled it all out with they're gonna wear the poncho no matter what Snoring and the smell of that rain gear At this point I got nothing to lose. It seems to be an excellent shape. It's just that odor. I got to get rid of it or get rid of the thing because I can't handle that. I would do the vinegar to clean it up and that may neutralize it. And then, like I said, I'm going to do the Gibbs thing myself. So I'm going to let you know. how that's going to work but I especially need it because what I'm going to do is spray it. I'm going to get the spray and I'm also going to use it on my US Army Chemoflage nets because I've got some that are getting crinkly and that happens. You can't help it. You just get old. But what it is is they're drying out. Well, if you reintroduce the lubricant and it doesn't hurt anything. One of the things about Gibbs, and we haven't talked about this and it's a good thing you brought this up. Thank you. The Gibbs works on everything guys. It works on wood, it works on plastic, it won't hurt any of your weapons parts. So if you've got an antique weapon, it is not going to hurt it in any way. In fact, just to reverse, it's going to help to preserve the wood, it helps with the plastic. All you guys got M16s or HKs or whatever. And it will also help to preserve the metal. So it works with aluminum, steel, bronze, whatever. I was going to call him today, I just didn't get a chance, it was on the 25 things to do today, but I'm going to get ahold of him down there and give him a heads up. He's provided cases for research before and we've done that. With the boots, where I was doing maintenance, we just experimented with one pair of boots and I never did get feedback. They came back online and the guys were wearing them, but I don't know what the end result was. I doubt that they'd break down quickly or anything. The vinegar doesn't work, I don't know what would. Because the other part about that is that it's not just the plastic itself, it's that the cotton filament that makes up the striation, the material that holds everything together, the nylon cotton thread, is it soaked that stuff up too? Is it molds or whatever it's doing? and that's what preserves the smell. Because the plastic won't retain it. I mean the plastic, you wash it off. Like you're on the rain right now and you let it get all wet. Well it's sloughing everything off the surface. And it's just one of those things where the only other problem is whatever you get it on, it'll smell the same way for a while. Like your coat, your clothes, you, and all whatever. I think I'm going to try the Gibbs. I'm going to jump out and thank you for your time and expertise, sir. Well, thanks for bringing that up because that is an issue and I've got to take care of that, too. It's something I should have done today to be quite honest because we're running out of time on a lot of this stuff. I'm trying to get all the camo nets up for the vehicles because I've got to get these. There are certain vehicles I've got to finish up. I've got a little fleet of Jeeps here. Each one is going through the ringer right now to be put back up where it needs to be and the camo nets and everything has to be in place because we're going to war. It's not an if, just a win. I don't, too many hours on the radio enough time to get stuff done guys. Really what it comes down to. That's been a discussion too. We've been doing a lot of hours of radio. But because of that it means every hour I'm doing the radio I'm not out doing my stuff. So thank you Henry for bringing it up. And again guys that smelly, that's one of the things about older, and here's what I do with old rain gear. I don't throw any of the old rain gear out because if you were, you know, if we're desperate and we are short stuff we'll probably do what we're talking about. We're going to clean it up. We'll detergent it up and see how it holds up and if it survives then it's going out to somebody. But let me point something else out. Don't throw any of your old gear away. Make up a garbage bin. If you got like the old rain gear, wash it up. If it still smells bad and you don't think you're going to use it, bag it up. Go get some grocery sacks or a garbage sack. Bag it up after you washed it. Put it in the bin. Why? Because I need clothes and equipment and junk to make dummies up for targets for the bad guys. If you want to deceive the enemy, don't use your good stuff. Save all your junk stuff up, and when you make the silhouette dummies that really, really are like 3D, you know, create higher confidence that they're real by making them look real. Equip them. I mean, don't throw the junk away. It's like I said, well, I'm going to pull everything off my enemy's corpses. all the stuff that shot the snot, I'm gonna still stuff it with newspaper or empty plastic bottles to fill it out. I can put it on a silhouette or one of their bodies we prop back up. He'll look like he's completely outfitted. He's got a junk stick gun. Hell, he might be pretty detailed if his face is intact. If not, I'll have to make a dummy up for that. But the idea is, you know, give him high confidence it's something worth shooting at. or something worth dropping a bomb on. Remember that they're looking at fairly detailed technology. So your deception technology should be just as detailed. Always remember that. Wherever you got battlefield junk, it's not junk. Round it up, categorize it. If anything can be salvaged, you're going to salvage. Guys, if you've got old bags and stuff, here's something I really need to point out too about, you know, a millinery. What about all these little bags and tote bags? Everybody goes, well I don't want that. What am I going to do with that? The zipper's broken. There's a nylon strap on the thing. It's got a plastic buckler that, you know, that controls the nylon strap that costs about 80 cents to a dollar. It's got two quick release latches made out of plastic that hold the lid on or the flap on for whatever the bag is. There might be a hanger for the zipper. Okay, grab that off or nylon cordage. Guys, you know, police the things. Strip them with all the useful stuff. Break out the scissors. If you're going to throw it away anyway or if somebody else is throwing it away because it's mucked up, who cares? Pull the stuff off that costs money. That nylon strapping, you get me enough of that, I can rebuild other stuff. The bucklers, hey, you got a set. You got a male and a female and there's two of them there. That's a repair kit for something else. See how that works? Just like old fatigues, if you got a pair of a set of fatigues, a pair of pants or a jacket, they get burned and they get messed up. Well, there's spare cloth for patching up or reinforcing stuff. If you want to make up another pocket like a calf pocket, here's a little trick. You got the fatigue shirts and maybe the bottom got holes and it got burned. I was running into those when I was doing tonnage. Well, the upper pockets are smaller. So you cut the perimeter of that off, take and slide those over to your pants and make a calf popcorn pocket on the upper end of the calf on the outboard side and the same location as your upper thigh popcorn pocket. That's an awfully handy pocket to have down below. When you're crouched down, you naturally can reach for that. You can also put spare pockets on other pieces of equipment like your field jackets. your field jackets, a lot of European ones have pockets on the back. We don't do that with ours. The Swiss alpine flage coats are like 11 pocket coats that have chipmunk cheeks in the back, chipmunk cheeks on the side, and extra ones up front. And if you take a look at what they did, the Swiss are pretty practical about their designs, guys. In fact, their coat is their web gear. For the alpine flage in the herringbone twill, If you open up and look inside the pockets, you'll notice they have magazine sleeves. And the idea behind it was, your coat is your web gear. That's why they reinforced it on the inside, and all the strapping and extra support and shoulder points are in place on it. You can build the same thing yourself if you have all the extra goodies laying around, and we do. If you see anything, again, just take a number 10 coffee can. Put a white marker or a panel on the side of it. You know, repair parts or bucklers or, you know, like nylon gear. And whenever you see something where somebody's tossing something away, break out your knife, cut off all the goodies, put them in the bucket. Try to keep the pairs of things together. Why not? That way it's easier to find. Get a rubber set where you don't put some rubber bands in there. Every time you find another set, rubber band them together. Put them in the bucket. You got more of it. More is better. More is good. Replacement and spare so that we find something else and we shot the snot out of some black uniform knuckle dragger. We strip him bare butt naked. Well, we hit him in a few spots. We didn't plan on it. But guess what? I can replace that buckle, I can replace that material on the inside where there's a little blood and some chunky parts of some body organ I don't recognize. I can wash it all out, I can snip off the bad stuff, I can patch it up with the extra goodies I've got, and from a distance you won't know the difference. See how that works? So again, remember, all those extra items come in awfully handy. Another thing is that I did mention the vinegar. Remember the vinegar also works with a lot of other different exotic smells that might show up in your clothing if you find stuff or if you recover stuff. Just a way to neutralize scent. A lot of people think, well, about bleach. Well, you don't want to bleach out the color on everything. It won't hurt plastic typically, but remember that the vinegar, that organic, does a pretty good job as a mild acid of cleaning stuff up in the process. Other than that, other things in terms of headgear, I would notice, I mentioned Sportsman's Guide earlier, they have had some pretty good purchase, like quantity deals on hats. Again, you're going to have to take a look at it. If you're committed to the woodland camo, which is cool because there's lots of cheap woodland camo right now in all categories and items, then definitely check out Sportsman's Guide. I haven't done much cheaper than dirt. You know how I feel about them. I have no use for cheaper than dirt. But if they've got something that is cheaper and you actually can get it, then go with that puppy. Run with it. In fact, just real quick, www.sportsman.com. cheaper than dirt and no better than dirt because they betrayed the American firearms owners right away when Obama was after the guns. Yeah, cheaper than dirt. He is dirt. Well, if he's got something that's worthwhile, grab it. If it's something that looks useful, he's got any clearance or close-out items. And I don't know if they really do any clearance or close-out items because mostly what cheaper than dirt does is drop shipping from other companies. example although they do have again some pretty decent useful items everybody does go through look to see if it's worthwhile if it is grab it remember shipping might kill you and it's not really all that great with cheaper than dirt but looking to see real quick here backpacks and bags black powder I don't see any in any way or any sales. If anybody does see anything slap me in the microphone and correct me. Otherwise, eh, again, not much in the way of MOLLE gear and military surplus gear. Let's see what they say there. Well, not much there really either. Cheaper than dirt's gotten a little cheapy. Well, again, probably because a lot of people walked away from them too. So again, check them out, see if there's anything useful there. Let us know, give us a heads up, and then again follow through by also confirming they have the product. Just because cheaper than dirt has it posted, just like all the rest of these companies, doesn't mean that they have it in stock. That's the one thing you gotta be cautious of, because remember guys, a lot of this stuff is running down and it's going pretty quick. Certain categories have just kind of just gone through, you know, it's like water through between your fingers. Gone. Going back to UNAMMO.com, I will remind everybody there, they do have the flares. They show five. They're down from 11 to five of the cases of the yellow flares, and they have one case of the red flares left in stock, but they do have parachute flares. You have to talk to the owner about that. And again, they're limited on those, but they do have them in stocks. If you're looking for white parachute flares, that is an option. Oh, and last but not least, because I know some of you guys listen and have British Enfields, unamble.com got a batch of British 303 ammunition in, 174 grain ball, probably Brit made as these were retrieved out of England, 174 grain FMJ ball, brass, annealed case, lead core ammunition, non-corrosive. The ammo has to have an interesting history. The boxes are plain wrapped. Oh, that means they're runner revolution ammo, guys. No head stamp. Really. This is spook and cooke ammo. Whenever you see something like that and there's no head stamp and the boxes are plain, this is spook and cooke ammunition. This is designed so that there's total deniability. Fascinating. Anyway, basically whatever battlefield period it was intended for, the manufacturer of that military wanted no footprint. Very good. He actually included that. Very good, guys. In any event, it is excellent surplus ammunition for all your 303 rifles. Pack 20 rounds to a box, 40 boxes inside a wood crate, 800 rounds total, and the price is $595 shipped. I know what the price is. I know that's a bad mark. That's expensive. No, it's the 21st century and this stuff was made in the 70s and it's non-corrosive or it was made back in the day and it's non-corrosive ammo 174 grain ball. So it's the it's the mid heavy ball. It's not there. They make up to 200 grain depending on who built it and It's at UN ammo calm. He has 10 plus cases It's the generic box no head stamp case and it's in the military transport box So you check it out, see if it fits and floats your boat. If you've got a 303N field, don't say we didn't find you a solution, guys. There are some solutions out there. The other thing, like I said before, they've got a few odds and ends, 30 caliber carbine ammo, probably got from a collection. Stuff like this pops out from different people's property every once in a while. Got one case of the hamcams and one case of the 30 caliber carbine in the 50 round boxes. Early 70s manufactured, probably Vietnam contract ammo. And then they do have the Guila 30 carbine, 1000 rounds for $470. I'd be just as happy with that as anything else. I've shot so much of Guila I can't even remember how much I've shot. and all of it worked. I've never had a problem with the Remington of Mexico because that's who Aguila is. Remington built lots of ammo for the Federales so that they can kill those peasants down there. And, well, if it'll shoot peasants in Mexico, we ought to have no problem shooting police state thugs in America with it. How do you like that? That'll work out just fine. And for any UN invaders that happen to just show up, it's kind of like poetic justice. The police state down there built the ammunition we use to get rid of the police state across the planet when the time comes. Yee-haw! I think it works out pretty well for everybody. Anyway, we're almost to the top of the heart again. I'll tell you. A couple of things here real quick. A reminder, cold weather gear. Guys, if you're going to pack up your combat load, you're going to be going out west or anywhere. Diversify, make sure that your popcorn pockets and your pants at least have one pair of glove liners or mitten liners. A pair of socks, always Ziploc bag them or seal them, take your pick whichever way. Dollar store Ziploc bags work just fine. Remember there's two reasons for having the Ziploc bags. You take the wet pair off, you put the dry pair on, You take the wet pair, wring them out, and you put them inside the Ziploc bag, and then you put them back in your pocket. You don't get any cross-contamination with water. Okay? The other thing, put a pair in your, put at least one pair of each, pair of socks and a pair of glove liners in your battle blouse. Whatever four pocket blouse or two pocket blouse you're wearing, put those in your shirt. And then, in the field jacket, do it again. Well Mark, that's a lot of spare socks and a lot of spare liners. It won't be enough, but you know what? No matter what you drop, you'll always have one of each with you. You'll be able to recover your feet and you will be able to recover your hands. Now I don't care what you, in fact to be quite honest, gloves have become such a stupid price other than for the throwaway types. Gloves are five, six, and ten dollars a pair. The price of a stinking shirt now, guys. But if you go over to our friends at Maine Military Maine Military dot com Maine Military dot com I've always mentioned these are almost out of them because the price has gone up and the quantities have gone down But if you look they have the Swedish trigger finger mittens for a pretty good price and those come in a plastic bag with the shell and a liner for three dollars a pair Okay, and I'm pretty sure they still have them listed that way. Let's double check to make sure. If I'm wrong, you can slap me in the microphone kids. Well, of course it's winter, so the trigger finger mittens have gone up in price too as far as the American ones. Now they don't show them on the bulk page, but they do have the trigger finger mitten liners. U.S. Wool, five pack for $10. Now you might be able to find a little bit of price here and there, so look around, but that's a good price. and those are good enough. To be quite honest, if you don't, you should have a shell for them, a set of shells, but at the very least if you have more of those wool liners, remember dry and wool makes a big difference. If you have to leave them on, wool, even wet, retains over 80% of your body heat. That's why old wool clothing should always be grabbed if you see any old wool uniform clothing. The only problem is that wool has density shrink down even though it might be bigger size. Chances are she shrunk a little bit. Well don't throw that out. Size it out to the people that are smaller. Those wool clothes are priceless. I'd be grabbing wool if I could. You can't find it for any good price and you can't find it in good sizes hardly at all. Maybe some of the Austrian stuff coming in but that's about it. Otherwise, you're going to have to go to the Euro 90 stuff and the uniforms and equipment for winter cold weather gear. I would also remind everybody, hey, remember, Navy stuff is OD green in some cases. A lot of the Navy stuff, heavily built, big sizes, and works for cold, wet weather. So it's a personal choice there. Looking while I'm talking, to see if I can find those mittens for you guys because I hate to say that we didn't I don't want to lose that. Oh here we go. Oh let's go down to the clubs and mittens. Rearranging the page means that oh no they're not there. Well that's got the rubber let's see gloves let's go to mittens. There we go. Mark might get it right eventually if Mark uses his brain. Here we go. Okay now quantity prices the more you buy cheaper they get so here we are trigger finger mittens 12 pack for $15 there's a better price those are for the wool trigger finger mittens and that's the way to go so if you go to mittens in the gloves and mittens category they have the Swedish mittens with liners 10 pack for $29.99 or a three pack for you know $10 So about the same price, about $3 in some odd sense a pair. I would go at least grab some of those guys. If you're by yourself, at least grab if you're up here in the northern climb, grab three of those winter Swedish mittens with liners, three pack for $10. If you can do more, do more. But if all else fails, again, for all of you listening for cold weather replacement to keep people from freezing, especially yourself. Okay, they've got 12 pack. These are US trigger finger mittens. They are brand new condition. They are made of wool and are sized medium. You are getting one dozen. That's 12 pair of these mittens. They were OD green. I don't care what shade they are. Who cares? These are not eligible for free shipping, but they're worth the price. $15 for a 12 pack, a little over a dollar a pair. You can't beat that. and I can't emphasize that enough. Now then what you do is take one pair of those, put them in your pants, popcorn pocket. Take one pair of those, at least put them in your blouse pocket, lower left or lower right, whatever your pattern is. In your field jacket, put couple pairs in, one on each side. Then when you get your cheap socks of whatever kind you can find, do the same thing. One pair in the pants, one pair in the shirt, couple pairs in the field jacket. That simple you want to reverse that and put a couple pair of the socks in the in the blood battle blouse That's fine the ID behind this is even if you are separated from your gear because there are so many ways you're gonna get shot at Or you can have to stumble out of a situation. It's like Star Wars remember good old Luke Remember when the critter was after him and he takes the lightsaber and they goes out in the cold Well, you might have to do that only without the lightsaber and maybe without your field jacket and trying to save your life Well guys, if you got the gear distributed across all those pockets you have in your uniforms and the pockets were put there for a reason, then you'll have the equipment you need. Another thing, remember, it might be to save somebody else's hide when the time comes. The more of your people that can think and fight and are focusing more on killing the bad guys and they are on trying to stay warm and or they are not freezing, the more likely you'll all stay alive. So a little prior proper planning and deep logistics means that prior proper planning prevents piss poor performance or you're hind end freezing to death. With the pockets on the knees, the shirt pockets sewed onto the outer part of the knees of the pants, it occurs to me that you could carry an extra pair of socks in each one and you've got knee pads. Yes, it will help to pad out or at least again, I bump myself nowadays I'm getting become I've got old farts disease and you know this is happening because I'm working outside all the time and you get bumped and scraped everywhere guys and I am a firm believer that every one of you needs to also buy a pair of knee pads anyway these so right now they're a glut they're a pig on the market you can go out and go to any number of different places copes distributing calm copes distributing calm at www.coldmans.com. You mentioned that earlier. Coldmans. Guys, look at their prices and look at their equipment. You can get OD Green, Woodland Camo, or ACU knee pads and elbow pads. Buy a pair of each for you. At least. And I'll tell you why, because we're not getting any younger and I know we can tough it out, but why? Okay, we're gonna get through anywhere from 68 years worth of fighting. And I plan on getting through the other side so I can be on the trials and I can find all these characters guilty and help to hang them. I am dead cold serious on that. And I want you all to think the same way. We're gonna find a place and end up dead at... No we're not. We're going through the other side. We're going right through all that meat that the enemy puts in front of us. We're gonna get right through the other side of it. I'm gonna find every last thing in one of them and I'm gonna kill every one of them. That's the attitude everybody has to have our plan our goal is to win God help them for starting it. We're gonna finish it But to do that we need to be properly equipped don't listen these you know these dingleberries Oh, you don't need that really I've lived out in this garbage And there's no resupply or sugar daddy to the rear guys. Whenever I hear these people say, oh, a special whatever, okay. And then they tell you all about how you're not going to need this and you don't do that. Well then, you know, oh well, so you had some guy dropping stuff to you every day, right? Well, of course. Yeah, well, of course. You see any sugar daddy behind you? We're fighting a real girl war. And whatever we start out with is what we got to run with for a while. And again, like I said, we got to think heavy going out. you're gonna drop stuff, you're gonna lose it, you're not gonna have enough anyway. It's like magazines. Everybody ask me, how many mags should I have? Guys, as many as you can own. And it won't be enough. Seriously. Just keep chugging away at it. Keep chugging away. I always try to find these deals like this. It's like when you found those socks. Because, guys, if we can get more for less, you'll be better off. You can afford to put some in a tube and you know in the ground somewhere and when you dig it up your hands might be shaking You might be cold, but you know what you can look forward to the idea There's some boot socks in there some extra mitten liners, maybe even a pair of boots Maybe some food call the other stuff you need But it didn't cost you much you could afford to put a bunch of little cache a's like this all over the place Doesn't have to be the prettiest, but these are darn nice this your tax dollars paid for this stuff These are American military wool glove mitten liners. They're as good as you're going to get. And the Swedish ones, I've been pushing those for as long as Frank has had them on the inventory. He obviously bought everything that a company had left that went out of business that was a surplus company. So he's the only one that has those. Those are not something he gets from another wholesaler. He bought those because he's been real good about watching. If somebody's going out of business, he's snagged up their inventory. So if you can, pick them up. They're worth it. We had a real winter last year. Up here in Michigan and all across the North, we got a real winter. All that equipment would be used, and all of it would be used this year the same way. We're getting wet. We're getting soaking wet this year. That's the killer kind of wet. If you had to live out in this stuff, what I'm talking about, you need to continue to function. Which is why I'm pushing this real hard. By the way, pushing real hard. We're at the top. Let's see. We got BC coming up next, guys. I gotta get out of the way. Because we don't want to hesitate nor wait there. God bless the Republic. We shall prevail, ladies and gentlemen. The Empire is on the run. We'll be back just a little bit, guys. Donna Mark, you need the intel report. But meanwhile, BC coming up next. Don't you touch that dial. More live radio right here on LTR. Bye. Completeness, no work of law could take dear Lord, Thy blood hath bought, and I shall stand complete in thee. Yea, justify the blessed thought and sanctification wrought, Thy blood hath bought for me, and glorifying shall be Completing the-
