Summary
Mark Koernke discussed preparedness and self-sufficiency, focusing extensively on edge weapons and tools available through Bud-K. He covered multi-tools, survival knives, machetes, swords (including Roman gladius replicas), kukri knives, tomahawks, and trench knives, emphasizing their practical applications for militia preparedness and self-defense. Koernke explained weapon design principles, historical context of blade quality issues, and the importance of having multiple tools in a well-rounded inventory. The show transitioned to a replay of 'Grow Your Own,' a gardening and permaculture program hosted by Joe from the Carolinas, which discussed permanent agriculture and homesteading as solutions for food independence.

Live 365 Afternoon ladies and gentlemen, this is the afternoon intelligence for our brothers and behind the lines and occupied territory west of freedom talk radio.com You better believe it's right here right now. That's who's taking care of business tonight Ashley this afternoon and probably tonight We'll see how dead goes getting job done trying to set homework Network top of main to the bottom of Florida from the bottom of Florida across the arc of the Gulf of Nebraska whole bunch to Wyoming to include me to continue to function when everything else. Then a rain, well we had some. We were talking, pouring down, I went outside, had you make work in the garden, anything gets chopped up, well we're done with it. Those are the goats. They're a little heftier for what's coming up, in fact they covered and tunneled, so that I don't have to worry about them getting stuck in the snow in the backyard. It'd be kind of cool. They're gonna get a little goat. Everybody out there, it is, oh my goodness, it's Wednesday already, it is the 10th and 14th. Pay attention, stater, I mentioned, but $5.00 category. Yeah. $1.00 wallet safe. Love closeouts. Ninja martial arts. Ninja shooting. $5.00. Something that I haven't mentioned. Everybody, you need to put one of these in your kit. One of the many things like a Swiss Army knife. $11.00 fungal survival tool. Simple thing that does a lot of odds and ends. $2.00 per year. If you've got to be able to hand another tool out. Let's say you just got nuts on a, that you want to take off of, of some kind. And you've got your little Swiss Army knife out and you're going to town and it's still slow. Two people going slow is still faster than one person going to town. At the very least you have yet another tool that can be used for a number of different processes while you're using the other tool that's in service. Typically all of these universal tools that you make or have like combat engineer, Swiss Army knives, your Gerber, Gerber folding pliers, everything else tool, only one person can use those at a time. It's a good idea to carry the different multi-tools and one of them for as small as this is is an awfully good look at it. It is the 11 function credit card survival tool. They're only $2 apiece at Bud. And again, that's at www.bud. It's not a big heap butcher knife. Shopping tool, utility item. I would also hint that there's a whole bunch of $4 or less. I have a pen in them. They're the same. If I used to be there'd be like 24 different barrel, you know, those on your person wouldn't hurt. operations. Some picky thing they'll help to rip look at there. For $3.98 they've got about five or six different under $5.00. Smit them's also in the closeout section to look at. Being done by you know Rude hacking and chopping industry. If you go to swords, actually around for a long time, Rude and Rude. To give you an idea you'll see that the Roman gladeus they've got a piece I guarantee they're not a solid $2.00. $15.00 each give you something to play with and practice with and want to get chopped with. The gladeus sword with scabbard, the Roman sword with really propylene copy basically. You see them in gladiator, Spartan gladiator sword and sheath, I'm not worried about that. Any particular model here, they're not... They're not... Look at the design, because the gladiator's design... Like the Japanese samurai swords, they were mapped out, worked out, they were in service for virtually hundreds and then in one panner of another, depending on era. Still, the basic designs were there of length, the quality of the rank and file swords depending upon the government contractor and how they screwed the Roman Empire. Or before that the Roman Republic. Oh you thought that weapons problems was a new thing with modern... Oh no no no no. There were people that were taken out and they were tarred and feathered and then banned from Rome because of their contract work that they did and they're screwing up the Roman armies. Back then, just like it did, in fact there are accounts of the soldiers complaining because after a battle they would have to step on their blades and re-bend into shape up and down depending on the mass and crank out. So you thought that was 16 when it did problems like this. Word over again. Understand that? You'll be doing just fine. Now again, you'll notice there's a subcategory in the sword section there for full tanning. I do like as a neat, if you, on other words, if you will, Mark, I want to carry more of a sword and less of a machete. The little 19 inches, not expensive. well made. They've got a folks about being a ninja. $20 it is a long and light. Michael you're gonna come up against somebody on the other side who's gonna be fencing with you. So the biggest issue is so long that it's clumsy. Is it carried in a station over your shoulder typically on your backpack where you can reach and grab trying to be quiet? Obviously. You've had a failure system and because of the placement of your hand a cutting pull your body parts. I point that out too. So remember, remember to pull Remember when it takes power, you're gonna get out of that post-speed cut because you're trying to defend yourself. Somebody's extending a hand, they've got a hand down, maybe they've got a knife with a blade, and you come down on that forearm to try and cleave it. And at the moment you contact, or as you strike, you want to be pulling and striking down. This is why you get the same effect as when you try to cut a stake across the meat, into the meat taking advantage of the serrations. It's true with a strike when you're doing any kind of, you know, attempted ampouchetti. and by the nature of the angle of the cut. Let me give you an example. Kukri knives kind of do this all on their own. And you know I've talked about using a Kukri, that's another effective weapon that you can carry in a convenient station. Some units, a Kukri knife, where he was in first P3. Good enough, in fact, you know, a person, good job of documenting his experience when he was a Toto's. He's got virtually, you know, measured in feet, say feet, I mean, stacks here on top of the other. His son has a price of Back in the day, guys, the idea was image, psychological warfare is just as much a part of it. A kukri knife is a cure of the blade as such. The very thing that I just mentioned with regard to trying to cleave a part of the blade is pitch actually works for either taking a limb off, probably being able to get the blades to the crown. It's cleaved open and the blade cleaves and you know separates the material. There are a number of different kukri kukris. Yes, they've got them at Bud-K. Companies remember it doesn't, typically the better kukris are not pretty. They're a working blade, they're a field grade. for a Kukri type knife. Wide range, but what you want is a traditional, I've noticed that a lot of the traditional heavy bows are becoming harder to find the lighter, thinner blades. Remember that the fighting knife, chopping, you know, working on other material, had a particular mission. If you are looking for something like that, kind of compare notes. Example is, in fact, you can spend whatever money you want. Several companies are producing some really in the traditional Bowie. Find them in the bolo blades and again, the idea that there are some very nice work gladiators I mentioned. Their company's making high carbon. It's about using a weapon like that. Remember you don't have to hit them with the blade end. If you want to incapacitate somebody, slap somebody side to head with a machete, trying to be a little less shell. something they've had in stock and I've wanted to look I've seen one but I don't know how they all look they're not they've got a drop point in the K bar fashion in terms of design things come with a look at these and see just exactly how cheap they are but put in a kit for a 510 have a number of knives to be able to put knives or sitting knives and play bad guy has visual nylon sheet again if it's solid solid material it appears to be about these do an evaluation which for a number of signs and options out there check to have them in stock in any good numbers anywhere or least in right now I don't see anywhere even here. More than $5 in this day and age. Now $5 knife and when they're not stainless they will. Knives you have that are case knives. You got to keep them clean. Anything that's steel will rust. Keep stainless now. Again a number of variations that are under $20. Again those are American pattern working blades. Who they're made by, you have to take. There's a variety of them available. One of them they've got there is called the Ridge Runner Packel Bowie. $15.00, but again, the design itself is similar to one of the blades that used to come in, again, typically from Pakistan or from Taiwan. Solid tan. A lot of guys grabbed them, not because, wow, that's the greatest knife in the world, but because it had pretend to take a hammer to the back of the blade if you have to chop on things using it as a tool. $5.00 or $10.00 means that you're not going to cry if something happens, but here's the thing. Figured, wow, because they were cheap, they were, was of a mid grade. Pakistani workers really didn't know how to work the four extra heavy. They were in typically solid copper, cheapen out, working. I remember about these machetes that we've been looking at over the years. The stuff you see from the Philippines, the stuff you see from South America, isn't designed to win any kind of trophy for pretty. It's designed to keep you fed. The reasons I do like a lot of these machetes that are out there. Here's the music we're gonna go about in the other break. Edge weapons are just as critical and part of your well-rounded militia inventory as anything else. You pick one model and just start piling them up, guys. Remember, everybody's carrying the same blade. It's also a way to identify friend from foe. There's something that's an orphan blade nobody else has. Nobody can just go, I'm glad when I try to mingle in amongst you. It's a fast tool. Anyway, we're gonna go to the right- Right here, Liberty Tree Radio, it's Weapons Wednesday. Listen anew to the word of the Creator as it was revealed to your grandfathers, that's the Liberty Bible Hour with Pastor Brooks Conner every Thursday at 5 o'clock. and and some unique stuff. It's, you know, always some from even Cambodia and Vietnam now because stuff show up is that there are a lot of different weapons that machete items up before. Right now, although it does have again a polished lighter metal back in the number of different ways, takes some enamel paint and, you know, OD green. It's really nice. The machete was sheet. It's a whopping $13. Sawback, which is something like this. Now there's a neat little video showing some of the stuff where they're chopping cans, bottles, and brush. And the blade works and it is a Cool tange blade right off the bat. Are you going to cry if down the road you lose it? Well, the important thing is can you put these things in places where they're handy? I'll leave that behind. Working blades, they're a couple hundred dollars for some of these things. But machete, machete's Bud-K, the Gerber Gator machete's design in some ways. Fucking under $20 or about $20 apiece. Now the one cool thing is those typically are American steel. It's a working blade. It again has a straight straight down one side saw back on the other and you're looking at $20 for this working blade about it. Yeah, I was right 18 inch plate anyway the 18 inch is optimal Remember guys leverage I said before thud and you know again a certain amount of tempered leverage against the giving surface which is all the designs that are in the list here in the machete category and includes and other devices, but they've got right there at the top $25 for a gladiator sword slash a gladius, a variation on the gladius $25, black tick slash, you know, in high impact grip. I'm excited about the sheath again for telling you about, again, hack chopping that need be lose when the time comes. They do have a genuine Kukri, you know, Gurkha Kukri for $20. And then there are other cleaving blades. Now one of them, all of these Sawbacks, I will remind you again, I prefer a sawback with a buccaneer type grip. A stereo knife was the first to do this years ago. The advantage is you can stir up your hand inside that grip and you run over the blade. The other thing about some of the straight grips, they're a neat idea, and again, mostly you're using it for a chopping or a personal defense sword anyway. But buccaneer, remember the other nice thing about those, basically it's like a wraparound knuckle duster, guys. You know matter how your blade if I smack him in the face and you're not using your knuckles to do it that that kind of nice bill is extended but you want Give and it you have to change buccaneer type grip You're not gonna lose your fingers They saw your hand inside that that sliding over that blade later on with some creation on that for $20 They've got the United cutlery Colombian saw back and that has the buccaneer grip below it which is the United cutlery Colombian, perengue South would be seen as a pirate sword European The neat thing is, like the Kukri, it has a cleaving blade. Again, the noccurring strike. The blade makes contact and issue four, because again, we're trying to cleave through and hurt badly. Ideally, if it's a target where it's organic, we're trying to dramatically amputate. That ensures that whatever's on the delivery, on the receiving end, probably isn't going to want to talk to you anymore. Understand at that point, out of the fight or die. The next thrust after that is going to be somewhere where it's going to be really permanent. And as it is, I'll give you a big hint. I'll give you a hint. We are going to be doing a selection piece on this and I'm probably going to have Don as the... in combat. One of the things we've gone over, over the years with different groups is, again, unarmed combat against an armed opponent trying to figure out how to make something work. And no we're not, martial artists were... The idea is that you're to, again, face off against something and try to destroy even, you know, unarmed combat against individuals. came around. There were a lot of other ways that they practiced this with live weapon. It affected a lot of interesting techniques that have actually been embraced or adopted by others. If not on a combat, at the very least, if any kind of edged weapon is available, how can you take best advantage? Let's remember, too, that you're a combat, if you're going into combat infantry as militia in the field, you're going to get into, you know, it's preferred that you not get into closer to combat. Something went wrong. The attitude is, I want to shoot him so far out, I don't even hear a scream, I don't hear any thrashing, in fact I see him pop over, I see some red mist from that big talc weapon I'm using, happens like that every time and we have to be prepared for a cleaving weapon like a machete, like we're talking about, a tomahawk, yes I know Mark, why would you mention tomahawks? The battery, a fighting blade, a fighting tomahawk and a piston need in your inventory, you have that additional and chopping longer blade machete or whatever which personally I would because it's a one on each one of my kits 40 years blade that's the one that came out we tested them I love it under $20 back in the day and most of these blades and I'm pointing it towards are under $20 fancy they're not super you know again they're not super the scimitar chisel the Japanese chisel point the that all very in the tomahawks it's the same way first of all the weapon has to fit you search on that because It doesn't mean that any tomahawk won't work, it's just like hammers, guys. I love, uh, personally my solution for the tomahawk at this point in time, pretty. They're not even stainless carbon steel. Very high quality by any age's sta- with regard to the blade itself. The maple arsenal of stainless blade. Well, it's not a super exciting subject, but there are some fun things to check out. And I would point out again that with the tomahawks, you know what, I'm looking to see if they have how they look. Trench knife, there's another subcategory again. $20 a unit, they've got it in the... They've got it in the Tomahawk World War I black trench knife. Little bigger, little longer. It's the knuckle duster in the traditional, you know, finger holds. Very particular station for either thrust down with regard to how you're going to use the blade or to into the weapon for taking into consideration there. And again, there's one, two, three variations on the original 1918. The one is actually a longer blade and not... But... In fact stainless steel blade, zinc aluminum knuckle guard, includes nylon sheath, and aluminum knuckle guard. If you punch somebody the right way, your fingers might be so bad. I have to experiment. I have to take a look at this particular model to see what it will do. Remember that again weight was good. A lot of these other knuckles on you. I have one of those, what you're talking about there, kind of sorta. But mine is stainless steel. It's really heavy duty. And it's got a dagger coming out of the top and then little spikes all the way around the neckles. and then they just happened to come down into the trench and there's some knife work and maybe a little pistol work packing and chopping and these about like those knuckle dusters through the norm and every variation in short there on the battlefield I mean there was lots of steel laying around and lots of stuff and most of the guys they brought in have been tradesmen somewhere so they built a lot of these and in stainless, yeah it'll hold up stainless I'm not worried it's just that some of these like the zinc aluminium That I'd be thinking about Because I hit him good, but you know kind of flanges it around the flangers there that might be That would hurt. It's like I can't get out. I can't get out. Well, that's one way to make sure it doesn't fall off your hand, I guess Yeah, it won't leave you lose your personal weapon there the other thing and again I'm curious about this because I'm not looking for And again, I'm just curious because there are a lot of new companies and they're giving Bud Cane. Well, the import money because these guys are American made. But what they're doing is they're just literally doing it. Our weapons, especially anti-tank weapons, more finish into them. But if you'll notice, everything was OD green. It was flat finish. Everybody pretty well is doing right now with a lot of what they're coming out with on the market. You're looking at some really... building up muscle too. This is something... tactical tomahawks right in front of me, no wonder slap me in the head. I've come up with an eagle claw in a modern version again. Well, that actually looks like United cutlery. There are a number of the traditional tomahawks, some not so. If you're looking for a cleaving blade or Viking blades bead up underneath there, anything else you could probably carry out there. It's purely a matter of what you can discover at the yard sales too, know what you're going to run into, and again, your hatchet, wherever, keep your hatchet scoured, but, you know, small... that they split just as many skulls. Oh, what? That blade, they decided to keep it around for another mission. That's three in one. Quite effective. That's three in one there. The good thing with the, again, looking at the Tomahawks is, Kirkwell, depending upon whether or not you're going with malleable iron or teed, you don't know what their casting or what their attitude was at the factory. Now, our little guys do know, I mean by malleaves of iron, like there are malleable iron. Now, if you may not know this, but iron actually is, it can be springy. I think that they made trap pads out of cast steel, or did they make them out of iron? Well, depending on the country, they made them out of iron. In fact, England, the Bren gun carrier in here, the founders we made their own, remember I've talked about this Bren gun pad, were quite good for him with crack or break, which is not likely, because they were, again, four out of casts, certain amount of strike, bloop, onto the chain of track. It can be done in Ma- Strike it, just probably fracture that blade. However malleable iron was something that was typically carried through a certain generation, a certain period of time. Anyway, we got music coming in, we got Craig from Forbidden Knowledge coming in next. Don't you touch that dial. I don't think he's going to be live tonight. I haven't heard anything from him. Very good. We'll see what happens then. Well, we'll find out again in the next few minutes here. Meanwhile, God bless the Republic. Death to the New World Order. We shall prevail ladies and gentlemen, the Empire is on the run. And we're on the march both day and night. Keep your fighting knife sharp, keep your hatchet scarred, keep your powder dry and your pistols close in hand. You do that, you've got the ability to fight right away and take the fight to the enemy, close and personal. Hack, hack, chop, chop, squish, oh there's one a little farther away. There you go, there's three dead around you right there. Very good. Now you got a bunch of stuff. Thank you, I'll tell you what, sir. Thank you, sir, for doing the job you're doing. No problem. And Spike's gonna take over, we're gonna be back at 8 o'clock. The evening intel report with Donna Mark. Meanwhile, y'all pay attention. Craig, forbidden knowledge, copy allowance. He's got him, bye him. Bye bye. Like I said, I haven't heard from Craig, so we're gonna go ahead and do a replay. Some grow your own, so enjoy. And at times, fight off the wolves. Permaculture stands for permanent agriculture, which is the focus of our program in addition to the annual yearly stuff. Permaculture is a process of functional design for any piece of property anywhere Over the course of time, several years, you can provide all of the needs for yourself, your family, as well as your neighbors, as long as you work with them, without having to depend on supermarkets, the power company, or the water company. You set your property up, basically to take advantage of resources and things on your land that already exist there. Over time, we get our design right, and that property supports itself with minimal maintenance from you.
