Live 365. The psalmist had accorded again in Psalm 119 verse 65, Thou hast dealt well with thy servant. Yes, we know that even though the fiery days that lay ahead for us may become rough at times, we know that the Lord is there and He will protect those who are His. This last verse in which we heard of this hymn, And the Lord hasteth the day When my faith shall be sight and the clouds be rolled back as a scroll and the trump shall sound and the Lord shall descend Even so it is well with my soul The psalmist trusted in God's Word and he knew that the promises that were lying within Many had been fulfilled even back in his day and we know Even those who are still yet to come Those promises will be fulfilled as well. We will see the Lord descend soon, I do believe, in my humble opinion. For those of you who have just joined us, we are currently in a series called God's Timeline to Eternity where we will be continuing in part two of the pre-tribulational rapture. Last week, as you may recall, we began looking into an event commonly referred to as the rapture. Others recognize this event as the snatching up or the removal of the church. Although the word rapture does not appear in scripture, the term does. Last week we established the term comes from the Latin word rapturo. This is the Latin translation for the Greek word hapazo, which has meaning for being caught up or snatched up or snatched away. The verse, 1 Thessalonians chapter 4 verse 17 reads, Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. The Apostle Paul teaches that true believers and followers of Jesus Christ will suddenly meet the Lord in the air. This divine supernatural event will be the catching up of the Church, both deceased and those who will be alive at the time of its occurrence. Last week we established the locations in Scripture whereupon this important doctrine is found. Also, last week we began to examine the event itself. We studied the three inaugural sounds which are mentioned in 1 Thessalonians chapter 4 verse 16 where it reads, For the Lord himself would ascend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. The three sounds being a shout or a command and a voice of an archangel and a trump. All three signifying the beginning of the rapture. Whether the entire world will actually hear these sounds or just those within the body of Christ as a warning of sound of sorts to allow us to know what is actually occurring at the moment that it happens. Remember friends, it happens in a moment and a twinkling of an eye. It will all be over with before we mentally comprehend what is more than likely actually has happened. But whether the whole world hears this or not, it's not known, nor does it really matter. But what's interesting is, is the entire population of the world will know that something huge and greatly important has just occurred. And many will try to explain away the disappearance of a huge portion of the population. As an interesting side note, not mentioned last week, this observation is as follows. The body of Christ, or the Church, which it is also known, is also referred to as the salt of the earth, or at least the saints are. As Christians are commanded by our Lord to be the salt of the earth, many might ask, what does this really mean? As we know, salt is a seasoning, which also has healing and preservative qualities. Matthew 5, verse 13, reads, And this is our Lord speaking. You are the salt of the earth. Christians are to apply wisdom in speech, as mentioned in Colossians 4 verse 6 where it says, let your speech always be with grace, seasoned, as it were, with salt so that you may know how you should respond. Christians, or the church, perform many roles here upon the earth. And salt is emblematic of fidelity and friendship among Eastern nations. Our Lord taught its symbolic of spiritual health and vigor, which is essential to a Christian's virtue, and is counteractive of the corruption that is found in the world. Our Lord also said in Mark 9, verse 50, Have salt in yourselves. So why do I bring all this up? Friends, when the body of Christ or his Church is removed from the earth at the occurrence of the rapture of the snatching away, Many believe, as I do, that the majority of those who are keeping all evil from running rampant will have been taken out of the way. The people left behind, the majority of them, will not, nor will they, be held in check any longer. For the Restrainer, which is the Holy Spirit, which abides within each and every believer of Christ's Church or the Body of Christ, is there preventing people's morals from falling even lower than they are now. If you think anarchy would be bad now, wait and see what it will be like when only those who are around will do what they want and when they want and how they want complete chaos. There will be martial law there to keep people in check by the antichrist and his great horde, but is that really going to be any better than what I just described? So, speaking of participants in the rapture, let's examine who the participants of the rapture will be. As we just seen, the Lord Himself will be the main participant, obviously. For He, and He alone, is able to commence this grand event known as the rapture. The believers are those who are in Christ. This is referring to those who have been placed into the body of Christ by the Holy Spirit. Let's look at 1 Corinthians 12 verse 13 where it reads, For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free, and have all been made to drink into one Spirit, upon the moment of sincere and repentant confession of sin. The acknowledgment of Jesus Christ as Lord, and the ones asking of forgiveness and the receiving of Christ. At that moment of salvation one experiences the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Yes, friends, this began the work of the Holy Spirit at the Day of Pentecost. This is also known as the descent of the Holy Spirit or the birth of the Church as well. All who come to believe in Christ from that day forward to the day of the occurrence of the rapture. These are the folks who will participate in the snatching away or the catching up. Remember, all their believers knew of a resurrection way back then and even in the Old Testament days they believed in a resurrection of the body. They thought that the rapture or those who were in the early church who were taught the doctrine of the rapture or the snatching away, they thought that if you were not alive at the time of the occurrence you would have missed out. But Paul writes to put them at ease in the early church which is recorded in 1 Corinthians 15 verse 51. And where Paul writes it says, Behold, I tell you a mystery. We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed. Friends, here Paul uses a euphemism for those who have died. And Paul goes on to say, The dead in Christ will be raised and those who remain will also be caught up. As we see, the body of Christ or the church is mentioned. But this also brings to light that the unbelievers will not be participants of the rapture. Paul also has mentioned a mystery. A mystery solved or answers the question of those who have passed believing in Christ, that they too will be participants. That all believers will be participating and experiencing an aglorious change at the occurrence of the rapture. But what's the results of the rapture, one might ask? There, most assuredly, will be many. Many more than we could even realize in the here and now. But here is what we can take away from the event as results. First, is that our Lord Jesus Christ is fulfilling another promise. His return for His very own. His Church. His promise to allow us the unbroken fellowship with Him in a place prepared for His followers. Our Lord, who has always been true to His word, will also be again when He calls us to meet Him in the air. Second, will be the completion of our salvation. Although our Lord redeemed us with a fully played price of His works upon the cross and the shedding of His precious blood, until the rapture occurs we are not yet fully saved. No, don't get me wrong. Once saved, always saved. No one can snatch us out of the Father's hand. We cannot lose our salvation. All that I'm saying is the process is not complete until we've been glorified as Christ has been glorified or we have received our new immortal bodies. In Romans chapter 8 verses 22 and following reads, For we know that the whole of creation groans and labors with birth pangs together until now. Not only that, but we also who have the first fruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves eagerly waiting for the adoption, the redemption of our body. Friends, creation and us also groan from the burdens of sin. Although believers have received the first fruits of the Spirit, we still have yet more to look forward to come. The Holy Spirit is but a taste of what's to come. Some people have even referred to it as a down payment. The Holy Spirit is but a taste of what's to come as the first fruits of the harvest was a sampling of the harvest to come. Since sin causes death and suffering, creation as well as ourselves grown with the effects of sin. Many of you, as well as myself, we are getting older. We have aches and pains. Some of us have diseases and maladies and things of that nature. But when we get our glorified and mortal bodies, all of that will be gone. Creation as well as we look forward to the end of our sufferings. In Romans chapter 8, verses 19 and following, it reads, For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God. For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly. But because of him who subjected it in hope, Because the creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. Friends, it all boils down to this. Not only do believers look forward to Christ's calling of the saints, but so does all of creation. As believers look forward to a new glorified bodies free from sin and corruption and death, creation also looks forward to restoration and the lifting of the burden of sin that has been placed upon it from the curse. The revealing of the sons of God will occur when Christ returns for his own. For they shall shed in his glory being transformed and all of creation is waiting eagerly that time as well. Colossians 3 verse 4 reminds us when we read, When Christ, who is our life, is revealed, then you also will reveal with Him in glory. And thirdly, another obvious result will be, among many, will be the great reunion of believers, those known to each other that passed looking to be reunited. Those separated by time, looking to meet them for the first time ever. Could you imagine actually carrying on a conversation with Moses or David or any of the other old saints and patriarchs of the Old Testament? Or even being reunited with that great dear saint and loved one who has passed on many years ago? Yes, friends, it will be a giant, glorious reunion of what magnitude We could not even scarcely begin to imagine. The next attribute of the rapture is the timing. Matthew chapter 24 verse 36 records, But concerning that day and hour, no one knows, Not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only. As this verse explains, and this is Jesus speaking, mind you, As we see, only God the Father knows when the rapture will occur, as is mentioned in that verse that I just read. God the Father will send the Son to gather to Himself His people. This is an event yet to occur. Also, our verse says, that day and hour, here we learn that there is an appointed time scheduled on God's prophetic calendar. for this event to come to pass. Friends, there is a fixed day and God has it wrote down in a fixed hour when He will send the Lord Jesus Christ to come for us. Some things are kept entirely to God Himself, although we are given knowledge of the conditions or events that will lead up to it, but we don't know the hour or the time. That's why it's so important to be involved in your scripture reading so that you may be aware of the seasons around you. As we previously learned from earlier parts of our study, some denominations and or groups believe in the rapture occurring during different times of the tribulation. As the listener may recall, these were referred to as pre-tribulationists as we are studying now. mid-tribulationalist or post-tribulational rapture. From some others, still a small minority, there are those who believe in a partial rapture and still smaller still is the view of the pre-rath belief. Our concern for the time being in our study is the pre-tribulational rapture. Although no rapture view is without challenges, mind you, The strongest and the most widely held view is that of a pre-tribulational rapture event. Mind you, and I'll mention this many times and I'll mention it again, that literal interpretation of God's Word is the most or the better way to approach the Word. Spiritualizing and allegorizing God's Word will only lead to huge error and huge gaps that can only cause There are at least seven grand topics of discussion which support the pre-tribulational view. So let's look at them now or at least what we can get through with the time that we have remaining today. And we'll pick up where we leave off next time in part three. One of the seven major issues of discussion is the scriptural distinction between the church and the nation of Israel. The pre-trib view holds to a large degree to keeping a distinction between Israel and the Church. In other words, God focuses on one or the other. For the Church is not identical with Israel, although some similarities do occur at times. Also, we've clearly proved in earlier episodes of our current series, God's Timeline to Eternity, We've proven that replacement theology is of great error, not to mention non-biblical. The clearer the case is presented, the more the distinction between Israel and the Church becomes. When one reads Acts chapter 2, one reads of the birth and the beginning of the Church, the coming of the Holy Spirit. This is known as the Day of Pentecost. This day is also known as one of the most phenomenal and important events in all of human history. And here are several reasons why. One, it marked the arrival of the Holy Spirit. Two, it marked the birth of the Church. And three, it marked the corporate filling of the Holy Spirit of the body of believers with the promised presence of Christ. As noted in John 14 verses 16 through 18, which I'll share with you now. So starting in John 14 and verse 16 and following it reads, and I will ask the Father, and this is our Lord speaking, and he will give you another helper, that he may be with you forever. That is the Holy Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive because it does not behold him or know him. But you know him because he abides within you and will be in you. I will not leave you as orphans. I will come to you. And fourthly, it marked the personal infilling of the individual believer by the Holy Spirit. Fifthly, it marked the presence and power of God coming upon believers, gifting and equipping them to proclaim the glorious message of salvation unto mankind. Friends, God made specific promises to the Church. Israel was given by God many eternal and unconditional covenants. As the listener may recall, the covenant promises made to Israel will be fulfilled by God and in His timing, although they at this time remain largely unfulfilled. The Church never has or ever will replace Israel in these covenants. Once the rapture has occurred and God's church is removed, God will once again set his whole attention upon Israel once again. The beginning of the period known as the Tribulation will begin the fulfilling of those eternal and unconditional covenants which God promised, culminating in the Millennial Kingdom. The Tribulation period is God's plan of preparing Israel for the Messiah's Second Coming and helping them to understand the error of their previous thought patterns of believing that Christ was not the Messiah. As we know, most Jews believe that they are still looking for Him to come the first time. Romans 11, verses 25-27 declares the spiritual blindness which currently veils Israel. This blindness will be removed, and they will recognize their Messiah and receive the plan of salvation, thusly entering into the body of Christ, as others have before them. The spiritual blindness, which Israel currently endures now, is due to a special judicial act of God for the rejection of Jesus Christ as their Messiah. Although this is only a partial judgment, for you see many Jews today reject Christ, while some have seen the truth and received Christ and the truth. For once the fullness of the Gentiles are complete, which refers to the rapture, and the start of the tribulation period, the Jews will begin to see God reveal Himself to them once again. In Romans 11, verses 25 and following it reads, For I do not desire, brethren, that you should be ignorant of this mystery, lest you should be wise in your own opinion, that blindness in part has happened to Israel until the fulness of the Gentiles has come in. And so all Israel will be saved, as it is written, The Deliverer will come out of Zion. And he will turn away ungodliness from Jacob. For this is my covenant with them when I take away their sins." Friends, these few verses that Paul has recorded for us that I just shared with you and those through verse 36 speak of Israel's surety of restoration. God's love is infinite and unchangeable and anyone can be restored to God. If they call upon God through the name of Jesus Christ and ask Christ to save them, Jesus Christ will turn Israel towards himself. We can only imagine how, for this passage does not exactly tell us how it will occur, but we can imagine that during the Great Tribulation, with all the enemies of Israel that they have now and will currently have now and have later on, they will be setting their face upon Israel seeking to destroy her, that God will supernaturally save them. Although many Jews might perish during the process, the believing remnant will come through. But two items are mentioned. Some great manifestation of Jesus Christ, the deliverer, will cause Israel to turn to the Gospel. In Psalm 14 verse 7 it reads, O that the salvation of Israel will come out of Zion. When the Lord restores his captive people, Jacob will rejoice. Israel will be glad. Their great deliverer, Christ Jesus, accomplishes two things. One, he turns Israel away from ungodliness. And two, he takes away their sins. The removal of their spiritual blindness does not mean an immediate conversion, but it will provide the opportunity for Israel to recognize God's hand moving on their behalf during the Tribulation period. As we'll see in future episodes of our study, Israel will come under extreme threat to their very existence, and certain doom seems sure. But only to be saved at the last moment by means which can only be by divine involvement, God's hand. And with the spiritual blindness removed, the Jews will see and finally understand that Jesus Christ is their Messiah, as He is ours as well. God's program includes these unconditional covenants between Himself and Israel. And it's very clear that God is dealing with Israel during the Tribulation period. The Church is removed and God is dealing with Israel and committing judgments upon men and their evil kingdoms, preparing all for His glorious Second Coming and His claiming of the earth as His own. Friends, the Tribulation period is God's way of achieving His plan, and the Tribulation doesn't include the Church. And next time, we'll see why. For our third and final hymn this evening, Nearer to thee, again by earnest forward. Isaiah 57 verse 19 records, Peace to him that is far off, and to him that is near, saith the Lord. Friends, the Lord has prepared a road for the people of faith, and for all who would choose to follow and tread that path or that road. A road of forgiveness, friends, that leads to him. As we draw nearer to our Lord each and every day through the studying of His word, through prayer and communing with Him, we draw closer to eternity as well. Let's thank our Lord for this time here together this evening. Heavenly Father, how blessed an event it will be when we see You come for us. As we are also reunited with our loved ones, may Your name be praised in the highest. Help us, Lord, to remain faithful to you in our study of the Word, in the living of our lives, and living as you instruct. May the power of the Holy Spirit give us the goodness and the courage and the strength to do so, and to help us to share the plan of salvation with others that we may meet along the way. Help us, Lord. to have spiritual discernment to recognize these opportunities and have the courage and the boldness to seize them for your honor and for your glory. And as each day passes and as we grow closer of the arriving of going home to be with you and the loved ones who have gone on before us, may our lives reflect the light of Christ so that others may see and be drawn unto you. May the love of God the grace of Jesus Christ and the peace of the Holy Spirit be with us all. Amen. Friends, our Lord said, let not your heart be troubled. You believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions. If it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare the place for you, I will come again and receive you to myself. That where I am, there you may be also. Friends, few short verses hold many truths and many promises. Deliverance from troubled hearts comes through belief in Jesus Christ as well as in God. One, you believe in God, believe in also in me. I am the revelation of God, the Son of God Himself declared the Lord. Believing in me that I am the Son of God will deliver you from trouble. Friends, in the days of head, we will see trouble. Two, believe in God. Believe also in me, He declared. Continuing to believe, even while you are in the midst of trouble, will carry you through it. And believing in God and His Son, will deliver your troubled hearts as well. That whoever believeth in him should not perish but have eternal life. Deliverance from troubled hearts comes from the hope for God's house. One, Jesus called God my father. He knew his father just as any son knows their father. But he knew the truth. His father is and really does exist and live. Friends, we walk by faith and when our Lord comes for us in the clouds, our faith will have turned to sight. And two, Jesus knew his Father's house, the truth and the reality of it. God's house is real and it does exist. It is a real world that exists in another dimension of being, the spiritual dimension. Friends, it's named heaven for it is his Father's house. This world, the physical and material world, is the property of God, but it is not His house. We should not be living for the world in material possessions and things. Sure, the niceties and the creature comforts of life is nice. Yes, and we work hard and we earn it. Yes, but it should not be our primary focus. We should be focused upon Christ. Because earth is not the eternal and permanent dwelling place of God. Heaven is the spiritual world or dimension of being, the home of God where the mansions for believers exist. 3. Deliverance from troubled hearts comes through Jesus' work. Picture Christ seated in the upper room surrounded by his disciples where he says, I go to prepare a place for you. Where is he to go? Friends, Jesus Christ went to the cross to prepare redemption for us. That's you and that's me. And even the forgiveness of sins. Our sins. Your sins and mine. Jesus Christ went to be raised from the dead to prepare the conquest of death and a new life and the power for us. And Jesus Christ went to ascend into heaven and to be exhausted and to prepare and access into the presence of God in an eternal home for us. Such a magnificent work in our behalf is bound to deliver us from trouble. But remember that Jesus began by stating a condition. You believe in God, believe also in me. Robert Murray McShane is quoted to have said, If I could hear Christ praying for me in the next room, I would not fear a million enemies. Yet distance makes no difference, for he is praying for me. Friends, we are assured that our Lord cares for us and greatly loves us and will return for us at the appointed time. And then I found some other stuff over at Herat. Well it said to her outside thought but it's breakingnews.com, Israel-Palestinian conflict and it says here reports Israel's security cabinet rejects US Secretary of State Kerry's gaussle ceasefire proposal, seeks modifications. Well why did he have to give them a proposal anyway? Why didn't you say hey you already blew a shit out of them why don't you stop? Before we have to stomp a mud hole in your arse because you're nothing but a dust ball in the whole scheme of things. A very tiny country is really, you know, it'd be like squish like a bug. And that that leads me to my next question when you when I give the score here basically. From what they are saying in the next little piece here, Gaza Health Ministry says death toll of Palestinians in Israel, 848 Israeli military confirms death of 35th soldier bringing the toll to 38th. So the score is Israel 848 Palestinians 38th. It's a little bit lopsided there. That's what happens when you don't have guns and stuff like that to go fight them with. But you know what? I'm thinking this little bit further down here. United Nations Relief and Works Agency says there are now 160,487 people in 83 Gaza Shelters. Basically these are all Twitter feeds. that this is showing here. One of them was from Al Jazeera. The other one doesn't say anything where it was from. There were the readers, AFP, Herox, Al Jazeera Live. What if those 160,000 people in 83 shelters kind of organized real quick, since they're already in a shelter together, what if each shelter organized and said, here's what we're going to do? We're going to go out and grab every stick and rock and any kind of weapon we can get our hands on and we're just going to bum rush the bastards. How about that? What if the Palestinians went, hey, you know what? And you know, they lie about stuff all the time like these three kids that were killed to start this thing off. I said it from the beginning. Palestinians didn't kill those people. Those three kids, what the hell were they planning to gain from that? What would they think they could gain from shooting rockets over into Israel? Nothing. Look what's happened to them. The next one down here, a French lawyer says he filed a complaint against Israel at ICC on behalf of the Palestinian justice minister. Where is that going to go? Absolutely freaking nowhere. And back to the other statement up here I made at the top when they were telling Kerry to go piss up a rope. Why do they have to offer them anything to stop? Obviously they're offering them something here to stop because what would they be seeking a modification on? A ceasefire proposal. Nobody was shooting at them to begin with but them themselves. Those rockets that they reported being shot over into Israel from Gaza there, I don't think they killed anybody or injured anybody with any of those homemade rockets that were supposedly homemade rockets that were fired over there. Part of people's concern is just the sense that around the world the old order isn't holding and we're not quite yet where we need to be in terms of a new order that's based on a different That's based on a sense of common humanity. But here in the United States what people are also concerned about is the fact that although the economy has done well in the aggregate for the average person it feels as if incomes, wages just haven't gone up, that people no matter how hard they work, they feel stuck. I don't know what the video is about so shouldn't really comment on that but it sounds like they're saying that just from reading the headline it makes you think that If you've got a gun with ivory in it, we're gonna have to confiscate it because of the federal ban That would not surprise me at all, but I don't know how many guns there those Pearl handle ivory handle guns all kinds of different handles and You know trying to get them all out It's like finding a needle in a haystack. People aren't, they don't really care. I heard him talking yesterday about a congressional building being vacated because of bed bugs. It's kind of weird that I'm hearing so much about this. I don't know if I mentioned it, but when I was on vacation, the house down the street here, another about a block away, and another house related about a block down that way, an apartment, the other direction on the same street, above a business where they work with metal. A lot of chemicals and stuff. There was a guy in an apartment up there and buddies with a guy down here, I believe. They had very small meth labs going and got busted. When they raided the apartment, they said it had blood bugs. They found a couple people that were hiding in there because they had warrants, or one person in particular that had warrants.
