And it's really how you look at it. It's like, when you're managing things, guys, it's, okay, here's what we got. This person's gonna be falling asleep and be pretty much useless. By the way, he also is a driver. That's really embarrassing, you know what I mean? But it's something you have to take into consideration as a factor. And then you have to know their abilities. Some people can drive when they're asleep. Or get to sleep anywhere. The ability, you know, understand the ability to your people or the lack thereof and you're to are listening those to the cycle, you know, fastest husband that you identify, you prioritize and you develop them better. You give them the, you develop them to the greater degree, you develop them and give them more resources because you know that they're going to use them properly. Yeah, that works. The other individual, at least in the initial phase of the learning curve, if they do learn from their mistake, then correct accordingly. But if they don't, You know that you've got some people that are only going to be good for so many hours and then they simply become dysfunctional. And they won't correct it. And unfortunately in a battlefield situation, if things go thugalicious, then they won't be around. At a 24 hour period they hit the wall, they'll be hitting more than one wall. If you can't move fast enough or again, they're in the wrong place at the right time. OJT, with regard to battlefield variations, and this also gets into our weapons Wednesday issue with regard to accuracy. We're going to develop some marksmanship skills now, not just blazing away on the range, guys. Focus on practicing what you're going to be doing in the field now, or you will not have the skill that you need. This includes magazine change-out. Magazine change-out does not have to be dealt with live fire. Repeat, repeat, repeat, repeat, repeat, repeat, repeat, repeat, and I'm literally talking. You start out with... Yep, exactly. My point is that we start out at a slower pace, but once you have that muscle memory in place, now you're looking for not only, but then five step skill to perform the operation. Now we're going to accelerate the process. See how that works? So you increase your survivability rating. You reload first, typically gets the next shot off. Both sides facing off on each other. There's that rare instance, remember that one comment Jefferson made. This is that rare instance Everybody is stopping to reload. Pieces that were instant where both loads. That's how it's played. I believe that's how it's played. I'm going to have to bring that one up. I haven't really, I've got it here written down. I just got to pull it back up and read it. I hate, you know, it's a quote. So these, what really brings up another thought. Talked about the talking target, be they advancing or you're trying to just keep their heads low. Put one in the air and he catches it when he looks up. That kind of deal. Fucking with a team. What do you do, Mark? You let everybody know I'm changing. I'm changing. for that you get support because they know that you've been at gun for the change out a mag change out a mag you're a stumble bump you're fumbling at a job that should be moved like like cutting a slice of one thing that I would point out that to to the most important weapons of the last year no actually it's 70 years now 70 years of weapon system development the mp44 and the m16 rifle in grace these user-friendly component and design concept on both weapons. User-friendly, with the Germans, they applied it the exact same way using the MP44, the 43, the 44, and later the 45 in its last production. That bucket-type magazine well which allows you just to insert the mag properly. Remember, the bullets have to go in the proper direction. Other than that, it's pretty straightforward that you just slide it and tap the bottom. She's locked. and then work the action and bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, you're ready to roll. Now the MP44 was simpler. In fact, it had the AK, the charging handle from the MP44 and that's what Kalishnikov embraced. This is a spoon charging handle, you know, where you've got a double finger grip and you've got to pull it back. That was a bastard. The idea purely for the sake of being different. And also, and I understand the reason, it was an Air Force gun, and the charging handle is supposed to lock back in so that all the mechanism is inside relatively clean and dirt-free for the Air Force, for the Army. Okay? That charging handle was not conducive to fast operation by comparison. You got used to it. It's not a natural action, or not as, shall we say, energy efficient an action as operating aside charging handle as we see on the AK. And all of these, both these weapons stem from the A-44's many ideas. Pretty much all of them put together in the right place at the right time. The Germans, had they that weapon embraced earlier in the war against the Russians, would have had the firepower combined with the accuracy, combined with their heavy weapons, formula of the war. Barrier numbers, mass timing is everything. But that magazine well made all the difference. Think about this, everybody loves the Thompson. I'm gonna ask all of you, have you ever loaded a Thompson? Have you ever inserted a drum or a stick magazine into a Thompson? You better get good at it. Take a look at how the Thompson stick mag is inserted into the system. And it's a tiny little guide there in a really big magazine. And you know what, under fire, the stress factor changes the dimensions, then the insert point gets really, really small. And that moves way too big. Oh yeah. See, the .45 is beautiful in that respect. The 1911, when it was put into service by Brown, it's the most efficient magazine well system, a quick gravity release with that pin, that pop-in slide, push the button, she's worn in, but even if she's not, she comes in. Your turnaround time is incredibly quick. Look at all the other weapons systems at the same time when the 1911 came and take a look at their turnaround time to low. Consider that just the spin proficiency which could reactivate the weapon. in and of itself, edge. You embraced it and again, that's the advantage of the M16, the Mini-14 Pivoting System. M14, I know it's a pivoting system, I was trained with it. Once in a while, when you're getting excitable, everybody always does the, look, they always do it in the movies where it's a funny ha ha, Don, where the guy, you know, he picks up his weapon and he, you know, he's ready to use it. But it really can, yeah, it really can happen, guys. But it happens because we're in a hurry and you're really excited. And that adrenaline rush is working Maybe your articulation wasn't with regard to manipulating the parts. Grabbed it in the right place. That comes from muscle memory too. Yeah, exactly. And that's where it is. Repeat, repeat, repeat, repeat. That magazine drill is so critical and it does not have to be followed up with live fire initially. The idea is muscle memory repetition creates a conditioned response that is automatic. Match change. Go ahead though. Again, just screw that drill. Match change. You know, I started out with a couple hours ago here, Don, the idea that back when the schnellf pistol, it was the Bouchard and the Broomhandle Mauser, which had shoulder stocks. They also had select fire options when they made the schnellf pistol Broomhandle. The first round was probably kind of on target if you were trying to shoot somebody. The other nine rounds kind of went over their heads. Well, riot police or security personnel eventually learned to use that. And typically, to come back in many cases or disrupt the activity with something that they weren't familiar with. You gotta remember this is 120 years ago. This is the year 2014. The Schneltfist original form of the the Broom-Annel Mauser came out in age. The Bouchard is older still. In service in World War I in 17 and in 1918 by the end of the war. They didn't throw weapons like that away. And the Schneltfist model of course was first originally for just police. Eventually added a box magazine that could hold 20 or 30 rounds became very popular with shock troops. Fire power, giving it to somebody who didn't have a clue was a waste of ammunition. A weapon that should have been, pretty much progressively hand developed, they're seeing an understanding of the weapons to make that weapon work to the best of its ability so that he can dump 30 rounds or 50 rounds or a hundred, 250 round belt of ammo that you can't get and it's served. Those rounds should have been going down 3 to 5, 3 to 5. That weapon should have been properly reconfigured. That gunner should have been operating. If he's willing to hang his arse out there at the countryside, how about instead we kind of put the bullets towards something we actually want to hit? See what we are almost to the top.
