Captain Monahan has set all of the additional rigs up and online we're actually testing the radio unit that hopefully crossed my fingers on this one. It's Friday, so that's tomorrow night. We have a radio unit I just passed off earlier a few days ago. They're cleaning it up, going over it. We're going to hook it up to the main antennas. That's the unit that will be down on the border in Texas. That's the one that's going down with the trailer down there. For everybody out there, we are again going to have the usual 6 meter, 2 meter shortwave bounce around the state, around the Great Lakes. The 6 meter relay goes up Lake Huron, across to the Upper Peninsula, across the top, over to the Keweenaw Peninsula, on the top of the Upper, and then over to Wisconsin, down across to the bottom of Just below the Keweenaw right there where Lake Michigan makes contact with the bottom of the Upper Peninsula and then it'll sweep over to Traverse City. Traverse City will go to Luddington, Luddington down to Grand Rapids. All the way down just to the bottom of the state of Michigan over to Indiana, across to Indiana, the top of it over to Toledo in that area. Basically there's several jumps in between. Come full circle back to the original location up the east side of the state over by Lake Erie. The objective behind us is to do this in such a way that we can beat our own time, which right now is at about two minutes and I think 48 seconds or whatever. The idea is to repeat, repeat, repeat, repeat, bounce, bounce, bounce, bounce, bounce, emergency signal out and across the entire perimeter of the state. This is purely practice for testing and, you know, again, connecting the equipment and sending the signal on. That's all it's for. Practice, practice, practice. Guys, you can do this with CB radios. We're doing this with all of our equipment, but the 6 meter is fun because, guys, 6 meter is dirt cheap. It is everywhere at the ham fest. Right now you can get handhelds for nothing. Anywhere from $3 to $6 to $8 they have been rising up a little bit so $8 to $10 is now the norm for those. Maybe a little more, maybe a little less, depends on where you are. The 2 meter vehicle mounted or base stations, no more than $40 will get you a nice rig. And you can talk as clearly as I'm in the room talking to another person right now as need be or as clearly as you can hear me on any of the broadcasts we're doing right now. So that is another solution, another element of the radio spectrum that we need to cover. Well Mark, I've got one radio that does everything. Yes, there are a lot of people that do. And if something goes wrong with that one radio, you also lose everything. The other advantage is that we can hook up these 6 meter sets and if need be, I'm not going to cry about putting a hammer to them. You see how that works? Oh, but I can't hit my $3,000 rig that does everything. It costs money. Watch this. I got six of those for about, oh, $22 a piece. I didn't want to break it up, but if I'm going to abandon it, I'm not leaving it for anybody. How do you like that? By the way, I got five more waiting on the shelf, or three more down the road and two more on the shelf. See how that works? So again, prior proper planning prevents piss poor performance. Signal communications. Get a CB radio. especially if you're down there on the border right now, guys, go to the truck stops, get a little duck box. The UNIDAN 510, it can be the XE, the XL, the M, the L series, the DL series, doesn't mean a deluxe, I don't know what deluxe about the 510 is, but they're great little radios, they're UNIDANs, the board hasn't changed in nine, almost 40 years now. They're out of the box, they squawk well, and you can lift the lid and you can tweak the finals and double the range. I wouldn't do that, but you can. Remember, the candle that burns brighter burns shorter. But the 510 is a very reliable system and most of them will take a lot of abuse as far as you know again heat build-up etc. So it's a good little radio It's something you put in every car and you can even make a mobile to put on a hilltop and you can be talking with one of those about 36 to 42 dollars per radio right now on sale at the truck stops. Antennas by a magnet mount right there that's a duck box it doesn't have that much power going down range. A little 16-20 foot longer the coax happier you'll be. But you can take that unit with a 12-volt battery put it up on a ridge and you can be talking to the planet right there locally, your part of the planet. That's how it should be. I know people have a tendency to get frustrated when we got callers who call in recommending stuff that we've already done as part of the education process that we need to maintain because we do have new people coming up and online on the radio station every day. We're not just talking to the choir when we're here because everybody is directing people here. We've had networks go offline and the listeners from those networks, which have been soft core Patriot programs, are tuning in and they're not necessarily up to speed. So it's something that we're always going to have to do. I've had people argue with me that the education process is over and if those people are behind, we should just leave them. And you know as well as I do, Dad, that doesn't fly. There are too many people out there catching on right now or people who just have not known where to connect. Guys, we have got cycles of people that are out there that are plugging in right now even as we're talking on the air. I know we are. We've had some great responses, especially from the Northeast. One thing I challenge everybody is every time there's a protest, guys, you need to go do a whole bunch of quarter pages. The quarter pager, which is a flyer that tells everybody where we are. You do it by doing a quarter pager because rather than just give them a whole 8 by 11 sheet of paper you can make four handouts off one. Give all the information, you know who, what, where, when and hand them out during the event. A lot of people will pass them on. Will do their part to connect or in addition to that, why not every couple hundred people is a hard charger and they'll do the work for you. They'll be passing on the information, getting the word out and helping to make it happen which is what needs to take place. Go ahead Ed.
