Live 365 You read about the current news in a regulated press and you pay a tax you do not owe to please the IRS. Your money is no longer made of silver nor of gold. You trade your wealth for paper so your life can be controlled. You pay for crimes that make our nation turn from God and shame. You've taken Satan's number. You've traded in your name. You've given government control to those who do you harm so they could burn down churches and seize the family farm and keep our country deep in debt. Put men of God in jail. Harash your fellow countrymen while corrupted courts prevail. Your public servants don't uphold the solemn oaths they've sworn. And your daughters visit doctors so their children will be born. Your leaders send artillery and guns to foreign shores and send your sons to slaughter fighting other people's wars. Can you regain the freedoms for which we fought and died? Or don't you have the courage or the faith to stand with pride? And are there no more values for which you'll fight to save? Or do you wish your children to live in fear and be a slave? Oh, sons of the Republic, arise, take a stand, defend the Constitution, the Supreme Law of the land, preserve our great Republic and each God given right. And pray to God, it's a torch of freedom burning bright. As I awoke, he'd vanished in the mist for whence he came. His words were true, we are not free, but we have ourselves to blame. For even now as tyrants trample each God given right we only watch in tremble too afraid to stand and fight If he stood by your bedside to dream while you were asleep and wondered what remains of the freedoms he'd fought to keep What would be your answer if he called out from the grave? And good afternoon ladies and gentlemen, this is the Second hour of the afternoon intelligence report, I'm Mark Herkey. One day closer to victory for all of our brothers and sisters, both on and behind the lines in occupied territories West, Central, Southeast, and East. Well, ladies and gentlemen, you were listening to us on... Liberty Tree Radio dot 4 mg dot com Indiana Freedom Talk radio dot com We're on Amen FM micro stations CB base stations and ultra net technologies east and west of the Mississippi along with Alaska where the homework didn't work from the top of Maine to the bottom of Florida from the bottom of Florida across the arc of the Gulf of Mexico Headed to Louisiana, Mississippi, Texas, Oklahoma, Big Chugga, Nebraska, a whole bunch of Wyoming to include both the third and fifth of Pitt and our friends in the recall state of Colorado. Waving to the left coast, we have the great state of Jefferson. We turn back to the east, sweep across the plains, leap over the Mississippi Atlantic and the Smokies with the restaurant crews, grandma teams, OK teams, and the Ma Bell Grammar Consortium bringing us the Golden Spike. Today's date? Well, I'll tell you what, we're ticking down the days. It's the 24th of June. It is the sixth year of open Fabian socialist and Soviet socialist occupation of America with a K 2014 old earth calendar or Nostradamus time man, Notre Dame-us. He's like a football coach, isn't he Scooby? Yeah, something like that. Well anyway, we'll figure that or we're gonna be the far eastern slash, you know, Asian mysticism thing. We'll see what happens. They could go to Hindu, but I think they got, you know, China on their mind. You know, we're gonna go Chinese. We'll see what happens. Anyway, it is a rainy day today. We've had moisture on and off. And the critters are actually the ducks in the water here a little bit ago. Also, a reminder that we have Freedom Beluga. You know, we haven't mentioned that enough today. FreedomBeluga.com, FreedomBeluga.com, FreedomBeluga.com, the 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th of July. Coming up, Freedom Beluga. should be there again the weekend well somebody's going to be visiting but uh... again uh... an opportunity go enjoy some time with friends people like mine go to uh... w w w dot freedom or you know to w w w dot poker face dot com login do w w w dot poker face dot com There will be bands, there will be speakers, there will be food, there will be fun. And again, you can relax and lay back and actually enjoy allied company in the process. So again, that is Freedom Palooza. Freedom Palooza. Freedom Palooza. And again, check it out. You'll be able to get the mapping and information from the websites, freedompalooza.com, or you can go to www.pokerface.com. Take your pick. Or to ding, do we have a caller? Just to be safe star six if you want to mute yourself caller And I'll give you one minute to okay well very good if you have to step in there may take a moment for your machine to work as It is it has been a very busy week here. It is it's only yeah, I know it's only Tuesday already guys Well, and it is Communications Tuesday at that. We were talking about 2 meter radios this morning. I can't stress enough about 2 meter. Remember that while 2 meters should be in its person-to-person mode, it's short range. But, very quickly, it's upgraded to planetary with the use of the repeater systems. and that's something that needs to be kept in mind that with a repeater system jumping from your 2 meter yey suit to or your whatever you got your bingfang jing wang there's a number of others or jing jing jing there we go jing jing systems Anyway, the different radios that are out there are certainly programmable. Yes, you can select a frequency and with a repeater system, if you know the code, punch that in and guess what? You can jump a distance without any problem at all. Two meters, very, very useful in that respect. So while it doesn't go farther per se, In other words, it doesn't have the energy to shoot too far on its own. Well, guess what? That repeater will make all the difference in the world. And you can go from repeater to repeater to repeater to repeater to repeater and land somewhere else, hook up to a cell phone, actually hook up to a phone line, and you can be talking on your radio like you're talking on a cell phone because that's where they got the idea. for the cell phones. Oh, that's how that works. Yes, that's how that works. So again, take the time, check it out, decide what is might work for you in terms of units. I know that people are trying to talk people into one radio does everything. Now that's cool, if at least brings you up to speed real quick and you got more money to burn. I can live with that provided you understand that you then need to start purchasing individual radios to deal with all of the separate elements of the radio bandwidth available to include CB, 2 meter of course, freestanding and separate. 6 meter, freestanding and separate, marine radio, freestanding and separate. And the reason for that is again, being able to have different operators running the equipment or the rig, and you're able to continue to function without having to switch the dials, teach somebody to deal with things that they may not be or shall we say fully competent with. And since they don't have to do that, but you can give them a fixed system in a particular and limited capacity that's not accidental, it's intentional, it's the design of the system. This allows you to be able to speak at many different levels and many different tiers slash different ranges, depending upon that technology that you've embraced. Now, two meter handhelds are limited because remember, they're micro milliamp, they're again, a handheld unit, they're only worth so many watts. But you also have vehicle mounted. You have fixture and base station 2 meter and also 6 meter and also CB etc. etc. etc. So that needs to be part of your taking into consideration category when you're building a lot of the stuff up. Anyway, you have a caller. I swear I heard somebody in the background. So do we have a caller? I'll give you a second. I know star 6 to unmute yourself. and otherwise. Now the other thing about the 2 meter radios, if you go to ChinaSport slash DX.com, dealextreme.com, you know I've mentioned this many times before, www.dealextreme.com, which is also DX.com. Again, we go to www.dealxtreme.com. Plug in there. Go to, well if I get to it here pretty quick, I'll walk you through it. It just takes a little longer to hook up than it normally does. Why, I don't know. Okay, we're getting there. But anyway, when you get to it, walkie talkies. Actually, this one is walkie talkies. Wow, what a surprise there. Anyway, the radios are readily available. If you go to Consumer Electronics, you will see, of course, other consumer electronics technology available, guys. One of them for one, keep that in mind. Other consumer electronics, if you go down through, you've got iPads, computers and networking, electrical tools. Let's see, we can get out through any number of different fun subjects here. And especially when we get into audio and visual, etc. Well, we're working our way down here. I'm trying to see why I can't find. Oh, and of course, it always happens this way. We're on the air! Well, of course, that's why it's going to be a little more difficult. It's going to act up for me. Here we go, electrical and tools. I don't know why I didn't go there first, but I didn't go there first. walkie-talkies and also walkie-talkie supplies. Now there's a wide range of equipment, too numerous to mention, so you're going to want to do a little research, but whatever your wallet fits, we can find for you here. If you've got more to spend, they've got product. If you're looking for something that's on sale, they actually have some discounts going on right now. If you're looking for material or equipment to stack up beyond what you've already got, well if you need to add to it, they've also got multi-packs. I always love the multi-packs. Multi-packs. Remember it's like in Fifth Element with multi-packs. Multi-packs, yes dear, she knows multi-packs. Anyway, the multiple packs are available and are an industrial solution. but they also have car mounted slash what are also radios that can be used for base stations. So if you're looking for a piece of equipment that you may need to adapt, you'll still need a few other items, the base radio stations or the vehicle radio stations will work just fine. They don't have any big big boxes or anything like that. At least not that's in stock all the time. I've noticed that there are a few things that have been made available, but They disappear from the inventory and I don't, again, I don't know what the criteria is. It could be just a wave of interest for that moment. They decided to test out to see if they could build them and they built them and then they stopped building them. It's just that simple. So don't be surprised. There are a few things. Pay attention to that little bracket and it'll tell you whether or not they're out of stock. And if they're out of stock, no, they're not going to be available for a while. Just go on, find another subject and walk into it. Check it out. See what you got. Anyway, a couple of the other items to include the CB type walkie talkies are readily available. The different 2 meter radios will vary, in fact even have some Kenwoods by the way. I don't know if anybody noticed that but they're actually some of the Chinese made Kenwood handhelds available through Deal Extreme. So if you're looking for a Kenwood and you're looking for a handheld then that is a solution. Let's see what we can do to figure out how to enhance your situation there. As it is, we're headed towards the bottom of the hour, not quite. We're going to have a bottom of the hour break. We've got about 13 minutes before we get there though. But we are going to have a bottom of the hour break. It is Communications Tuesday. I would point out that there are also accoutrements. In fact, we go back to the original section here for the subsection for radios, walkie-talkies. We also have walkie-talkie goodies. Now, what do we mean by that? Well, we have walkie-talkie items that are available to support. Remember we talked about spare antennas in the morning? Guys, the little rubber ducky antennas will be broken. I don't care how dainty you are with them. If you're going to carry them in the field, they're going to get bumped, they're going to get twisted, they're eventually going to get flexed, they're going to get flexed more, and then at a given point they're going to perhaps fail. You want to understand that's just the way things happen. Now what do I mean by fail? Oh, I can fix them. And I do. In fact, I did that last night with some Gorilla Glue and a small piece of electrical tape wrapped around to secure the fixture. But OK, once I'm done there, I want to make sure that, well, I got it fixed for the moment. Now I need to line up the antenna and purchase another one to have a backup to make sure I've got spares online. You'll notice that the prices are actually really quite minimal for most of the accoutrements. Walkie-talkie surprise. No, that's not surprise. That's a surprise. In the process they do have a number of different systems, spare parts, 6-in-1 USB programming cable for the Kenwood, the HYT MAG A8, GP88S and the ICOMS. Total cost for the kit is $10.55. It's universal. It has all the goodies, plugs you need, everything necessary to jump the track and get to where you need to go from one system to the next. Also, handheld microphones for your little radios. all kinds of variations on the theme too numerous to mention your best bet is walk through and look to see what they have. Let your fingers do the digital walking through the internet pages in this case www.dealextreme.com or www.dx and antennas also for other pieces of equipment that you may have that I broke an antenna I didn't think I could buy one well you'll probably find it here amazingly enough for the time being and there's a lot of companies that have been getting different companies to do just exactly that to support their radios. So now as far as the handheld mics please don't get a yellow or a red one please don't get a yellow or red one. Please do not do not do not get a yellow or a red one. They kind of stand out. Well, yeah Mark I'd be able to see them. Yeah, so will everybody else. Okay, so if you're gonna get one of the mics they do have them in tactical colors. They have them in blacks, have them in grays. Whatever that floats your boats at the best price, that's the way to go. But you know the red and the yellow would be kind of handy for like say certain operations if you had safety personnel and you were trying to be really really bright and light and in everybody's space or they know where you were well tactical situation where combat operations are concerned that ain't exactly our mission we're not doing that okay now another thing is uh... also extension battery uh... for the one many antenna for the uh... walkie talkies Oh, as little as $8.23 a unit. These are magnum mounts. They've got longer and larger fixtures for a number of different systems. Ear mounts, slash extension boom mics, of all different types. Too numerous to mention, but definitely worthwhile. And they even have throat mics. In fact, they're showing one here. Anti-noise throat sense air conducting headphones with microphone for interphone. OK. Neat little idea, whopping $3.40. Well Mark, there's no cost. It's like, yeah, that's right. So you're talking minimal pennies. In fact, if you buy multiples, you can actually save a few dollars in terms of three or six or eight at a time, your choice. So just something to consider there. Carriers, battery packs for some of the units that take Oddball or what we call orphan battery packs. They'll be orphaned real quick when things go to hell in a hand cart. Remember that. So one of the things about having an odd battery pack, make sure you have spares. Hunt them down, find out what they have, and act accordingly. Now there are dual headsets and single post headsets. I'd recommend the Singles, a single earbud with a boom mic or a single ear cup with a boom mic. Why? Well, that way I can still use my other ear for observation and listening. No, it's going to be interfered with a little bit because of the noise and the squawk out of the talk box slash from the headphone that's next to your earpiece on the one side. Remember that you're still able to observe all directions and whatever's happening locally in your area of activity or area of control, you're actually able to keep an audio track of at the same time. Now probably another example, they've got replacement DIY rubber shell antennas for the walkie talkies with SMA female and those are $11.63 for five. Okay, and they do have them in stock now you got to be careful eventually run down through all this stuff You're gonna get to the point where you're gonna find things are out of stock That means they have built them a little bit. They still got a picture up there. So eventually someday Sometime they're gonna get around to putting them back into production. We'll see what happens there if they are given the link in the not now One of the other things here. There are other little features like add-on lights don't One of the things I would point out, having a supplemental light using your radio battery, your radio is going to be pulling enough juice as it is without trying to make your radio a multi-tool. Don't do that. There are too many little punky junk ways you can set up and get buckets of literally handfuls of China Sport micro lights for nothing. So don't go out of your way to try and take them unless it's cold warm bodies in there. Forgive me, freshly warm bodies made through a firefight. You're stripping the dead. OK, fine. You might use some of their stuff. We certainly don't want to be plugging even their stuff into power packs or you know again computer packs or Whatever so that we can keep things running typically another problem We're gonna have in the long run is these unique battery packs if they're multi-gang packs or if they're all again computer or lightweight Laptop batteries they're gonna wear down. They're gonna tire out. It's not an if it's just a when So the less drag we put on them and the less wear we put on them, the better off we're going to be. Now it doesn't mean you don't have to use them, you do. But we're talking about constant use here in the field, regular patrolling or for regular security, perhaps for extracting, infiltrating or exfiltrating personnel. That's one of the things we're talking about where, well, you know, the The first purpose was to grab the guy that was the bad guy, second is to again try to get out of dodge. Well, drawing attention, etc., etc., because of certain problems or something that needs to be taken into consideration. So would it be viable to actually follow through on and consider that a useful endeavor to become part of what might be a sinking ship operation if not careful? Hint, hint, hint. Prior to proper planning, it prevents piss poor performance number one. The big thing is again to have the material and support equipment on the ground to replace and utilizing existing standoff systems whenever you can. Standoff systems, independent power sources. There's a number of different crank up lights and batteries that are available. You know systems that provide energy for other small appliances. Not only do they hand crank or do they run off the solar power, but you can power up something else you need to see what's going on. Needless to say, depending on the situation, the person who's claiming they just can't see that well or may not hear that well, they actually have heard more than they should have and are working for somebody other than the person they're on the ground with. And there are people in that situation on a regular basis. when it comes to the hodgepodge of contacts that can take place in any kind of operation where there's multiple layers of population, different groups of people. Some people are going to get tied up in or working with your operation as just stand-off signal communications personnel. They can use, again, a little boost there. They may be using older equipment. Alternate power supplies like these alternate battery packs that can support your radio or support other appliances are not a bad thing. But the last thing we want to do is pirate juice off our radios. We want them to run as long as we can, as strong as they can, with whatever we've got on board. And we don't alter that. The radio is the priority, not the flashlight. Anyway, a whole bunch of different things can take place. All kinds of stuff that can transpire in the field. We need to be prepared for that by being able to generate and field other, again, energy source technologies. help to make that happen. Think ahead and pass the word on. One of the things that we've seen are these neat little, by the way, and they're available through, you know, Deal Extreme, but a whole lot of other sources, these little handheld crank and or solar and or other like, you know, off-the-wall wall wart supplies to other items to charge them on. I hear the music. We're gonna go to Mike. We'll be back. If I could reach that button, I'd call you home. Reach that call, call you Handel's back. You can find it on Netflix and you'll also find the movie Serenity. When you get a chance, put them together and watch them all the way through. Why? Well, it's real simple because that particular program has a lot of political uncorrectness in it. Talking about how things work. Well, or the lack thereof. Just for everybody out there listening. Again, Firefly and then the movie Serenity. You will find them on Netflix and you can also find them out there in one form or another readily available to observe and peruse. So I watched them all, watched the series all the way through. It was cancelled and it had a massive following. It had a very successful following to be quite honest. In fact, it has a big following even now for anybody who wants to watch it, it's like, man, why didn't they do more? Well, you can see why. It really, really, really painted things in a more realistic picture in several different areas. Oh, and by the way, for the music, for those you don't recognize, that's the Bedlam Bards and On the Drift, if you go to YouTube and punch in Bedlam bard's dash on the drift the whole album is posted there and you can check it out in the process and go wow dude it's pretty cool anyway there's a whole bunch of other stuff that is going on meanwhile this weekend Saturday at the uh... and have a big meetup and for all of our ham operators uh... out there at the uh... Domino's Farms this weekend, Saturday night the club will be there and they're going to be hooking up and talking to the planet. So it should be a lot of fun. Hook it up and talking to the planet. Anyway, that is this weekend, this Saturday, they'll actually be through the weekend, they'll be deployed, guys. So they're going to be talking to, again, the Liberty Net and what we call the Possum Net. That's out there, we have a lot of good people that are, again, participating, going to be plugging stuff in and seeing what we can do to throw signal around the planet, producing radio. Well, yeah, but it's an amateur slash ham radio, so that's pretty cool. Anyway, a couple of things here. Let's see, what else did we have? Micro television. And also television projection for uplink. I talked about this this morning. Guys, most of your cell phones, even your sat phones, have telephone slash video capability. Wait a minute. What do you mean Mark? Well, doesn't your cell phone have the ability to record and even send pictures and or video stream right over the existing 800 meg system? Why yes, it does! Depending how much money is spent, hell it can do even more than that. Okay, that's cool. That's pretty neat. Well, there was a discussion or a question about doing satellite uplink. Yes, we can do our own satellite uplink in the ANVS2, the old SF model that's out there. Most commonly available as far as for parts and pieces, a satellite uplink symbol that system is totally mobile. However, your satellite cell phone system will do all of the same. and has the ability to stream imagery. In fact, even if it didn't right away, oh you mean you could kind of like set up a point-to-point modem system utilizing that cell, that satellite cell phone and you'd literally be doing a global uplink and a global downlink? Do you think? And would it be that hard? No, not at all. Confirm transmission, handshake. Okay, see how it works kids? So something to consider there is to peruse the satellite cell phone industry and see what they have. Now guys, remember the satellite cell phones are, well, they're really handy talkies just like your cell phone is a walkie talkie also. These are a little bigger than just your average little toy cell phone because they've got to have the ability to reach to where they need to reach and then of course then transmit up to, yet to where the satellites can hear them and of course that's because they've got a big beast up there they can collect. That is the other half of the battle is what are they pulling the signal in with? That determines how well they can hear you. So the probability of again being able to get a signal out there and do it right. Oh, yes, very high very very very high purely a matter of you being Creative in the process. So we work more on that but take a look and investigate a little bit You'll see that there are many different sat uplink cell phone models to choose from To have one of those in your rate radio signal communications back tray Would probably be a good idea my friend she will say because you could be sending imagery still photos and live video in almost on time delivery now Why do I say almost well? There's still a time delay from one leg to the next by maybe a second or two maybe a few more depending upon the situation so be prepared For the fact that you're gonna see a little bit of a burp slash hiccup in the system then it's gonna function That's just how that's how it is. It's how the machines are live with it. Again, clarity is not a problem, range is not a problem. Again, all you have to do is be able to get it to where you're not obstructed to the satellite target system, depending on how many satellites. That's probably not going to happen. So you should be able to get through and get to where you need to go without any great complication. Again, the priority is take a look at it now, see if it fits your toolbox and, well, of course more first and foremost, does it fit your wallet. Okay, that's our biggest concern another thing copper wire as a question well, what kind of wire should we save? Well firstly I would say save everything But remember guys you can use a lot of these like copper wire sections and somebody's getting rid of for an old phone line Gang phone line usually the older American made five four or six or five Whatever sometimes will be even trunk line Guys, that's a lot of copper wire to do all kinds of cool things with. And again, remember you can roll it. I usually disassemble it, roll it up. I also mark with a tag how many feet are in the roll. And then I can build an array in the field, even though it may not be all that sophisticated. Remember, anything that is metal, in reality, can be an antenna. What kind of blossom you get and how far you go is determined by how much energy you have to put down the line to the antenna. Now needless to say, your little Star Trek communicator, not so much juice. You know, not so good. On the other hand, real shiny with some of the other stuff out there that's older, this weekend I picked up a...wait a minute, I was going to actually bring that forward. Yesterday actually I got a police band, a 1 and 2, AM and FM, and also shortwave and marine channel radio. Got it for what? Basically it was free. neat thing works in all the channels I'm picking up some traffic on police one which is old old which means like I said don't throw this equipment away you don't know what the bad guys are operating on and I've got to take the time and monitor some of these frequencies to see what they're doing they're not in the 800 900 Meg this is all the old VHF and UHF stuff going out there and again it's being used by somebody and it's definitely You know the kind of personal chitter-chatter you'd find in a mechanism that's you know got bureaucracy attached to it So another reason to keep the old equipment around and watch for the stuff somebody's getting rid of now another thing I would bring up our frequency counters and this has to do with another question or a discussion this morning that came out of the chat room talking about sweet frequencies for for instance for two meter Now, anybody, it's not a bad question. It's actually a very good question. There are off frequencies that are preferred, but in reality, there are only a handful of, I would say, really utility frequencies. And I almost have to look at the tables to see what's going on right now, because with all of our activities, solar flares, Global activity with regard to the season, ground effect activity with regard to foliage and organics, all of these things tie in to create variances in how well you can send and receive. Number one, they're minor in some cases but major in others. The other thing is man-made interference. the closer you get to a human pod of population. In other words, you got half a million people, 300,000 people, 60,000 people, or four or five million people, like, well, not Detroit, not anymore. But New York, where they just got them stacked and racked, okay? Guys, there is so much electronic equipment in that environment that you have a massive number of harmonic frequencies that are generated. Some are intentional, others are accidental. Now this is why when you talk about demolitions or doing explosive operations or using equipment in electronic detonators you don't hook anything up or complete any circuit and move anything. Why? Well, you know, I was going to use this, you know, for instance, the cell phone thing was the big thing with a lot of the IEDs obviously in the Middle East. Why? Well, because lots of cell phones cheap and available. Of course, I would think that right now, as likely as not, the FRS, VHS, any other handheld radio could be used to create and send a signal that would then complete a circuit which would, of course, run power and boom! That's all she wrote. Well, if you hook something up in advance, though, and you finalize the connections, when you're moving through a populated area, guys, how many stray signals are out there? Well, to be quite honest, they're too numerous to mention. That is why, remember when Oklahoma took place, one of my arguments initially was a possible but not likely. It was the best of the worst case scenarios is the boobies put a weapon together at Camp Erber. For some reason they were going to take it to some place for a class and they were doing live bombs. We already know this. They were practicing to put the bombs in the Murrah Building. That was what the ATF and the Mossad were doing at Camp Erber. Well, if some booby said, oh, I forgot my briefcase or hell, we'll just run downtown real quick. I got to get this, this, and this. Frank said we shouldn't all just shut up. Frank doesn't know what he's talking about. And then they get down into the wire box, the, again, the transmission box where everything is dirty and all of a sudden, kaboom! Well, you know, that's all she wrote. But I would also point out that that could happen to anybody with any number of different pieces of equipment. And for that reason, a frequency counter is a good idea. Purpose, to scan and identify not just threat frequencies, but also frequencies, you know, in other words, not just enemy transmissions. But also activity that may hinder your transmitting capability with certain systems. Now, think about that. For instance, we talked about 2 meter. Certain frequencies in my area may be less effective even though the exact same frequency in your area may be that sweet child, that perfect point to point signal generation that you need so that it's like you're talking to a person in the same room. So that's why you need to do a research test slash a test run of your equipment in your area of activity based upon the epicenter of your activity. Now, one nice thing about mapping, you want to get a mapping, it's real simple, it's real straightforward. You want to find mapping for your area. Even Google does mapping with the roads. It's already in the north, south, east, west, so that's not hard to figure out, right? Now, you want to make sure that you have your house, your property, your retreat in the center of whatever you're doing. You then print a map with about anywhere from 4 to 10 to 20 miles in all points of the compass, you know, in other words, from the middle of the map. So that's how you're going to blow up or reduce the map that you have there to work with. Now the next thing you're going to do is you're going to get some colored markers. You're going to print out your map in color. That's fine. Black and white would work just as well. You can make multiple copies. I would do that. Once you make a copy, you can also either print out more of their color or if it's black and white, then just go to the photocopy shop and crank out a bunch for less. You know, save wear and tear on your print machine. Once you got those you're going to do a survey. Now you're going to need north, south, east and west roads. What you're going to do is you're going to do what we call quarter band testing. You can if you've got the time and the resources and the hours and the people to help you out, you can do a channel by channel test. Since a lot of your radios are variable frequency and you program them to the frequency you want to use, one of the ways to find out what's going on in your area to get a general feel for resistance, background, noise, whatever, other transmitter stuff that should be interfering or, well it shouldn't be interfering but it is, okay? We go base of your transmitter's potential, the bottom end of its frequency potential. We start there. Now, we have somebody drive out four points of the compass, north, and when they get out there they keep testing every quarter mile or every eighth of a mile. When you start to lose signal, you're going to benchmark that. Now, you may not stop there. You might want to continue to go down the road, due north, and continue to test to see if you pick the signal back up. There can be anything from transmitter issues with regard to terrain or it can be again interference of some kind. Remember the equipment you have is designed to accept a specific amount of interference natural and man-made. Oh, you didn't read the back of the box? You didn't read the back of your radio rig? You didn't pay attention to all that cast information that's there that nowadays can be up to like three paragraphs of information or data and the average bear doesn't read it. But when you do it kind of explains why, well that's why it doesn't work as well as it should because it was built that way. Now you do this north, south, east and west. And with each of the different pieces of equipment or with the different technologies, you mark them in colored pen. You'll identify both east, west, north, and south the optimal or again, but the greatest range for that transmitter in that frequency, that particular part of the radio frequency bandwidth available. You do the same with both your 2 meter, 6 meter, which by the way, the 6 is going to bounce right off into a la-la lens. So it's actually going to reach a lot farther. 6 meters is a very interesting bird, just like 2. 2 meter can be long range. If nothing else, remember you've got the repeater system. So 2 meter has a significant feature or option that other radios don't necessarily have. We can create a repeater system using the radios themselves as repeaters. which is what we do when we do a round robin around the state of Michigan. However, the idea is to test your ranges. You may also, of course, set up a micro FM station and you would test its range the same way, identifying again its area of activity, its area of performance. Now once you've got this you get a better feel for what potential your radios have. Some frequencies, some of the bandwidth you're going to be using, 6 meter for instance, has actually probably got more range than you're willing to test. You'll find out, although again if I had the time, I would take it to the extreme to see what the 6 meter radio is doing with my mobile rigs and my handhelds. Now remember that all of these things are handheld transceivers, your little cell phones, a handheld transceiver. But unlike your little cell phone, you actually have base station radios that are bigger and have greater output so the signal can reach farther. And this is why, whatever possible, you want a base radio for the center of your activities. or a mobile base. One of the things we're doing this weekend is setting up more than one of the trailers and more than one of the different base radio systems for testing and for training purposes. So again, prior proper planning prevents piss poor performance. Once you map out and you know what your frequencies are, here's the thing, you're going to do that base channel frequency with your 2 meter. Then you're going to go one quarter of the way up the dial. In other words, if from zero to the upper end of the potential for tuning for your radio, if it's whatever frequency, you're going to have zero to the top end, which is 100%. Well, or 100 points. We'll do it that way. We're going to divide it by points. At 25% up the dial, 25% of what your potential is, you're going to test the same way north, south, east, west. at the halfway point across the dial. You're going to do it again at the three-quarter and at the 100% mark, you know, the upper end of the dial. Well, the reason we're doing this, and we'll do them in colored pencil, is to see how they are mapping out on the different, with the different frequencies that you're using off of your programmable system. Now if it appears that you're getting a plus or like an upswing between any one of these and another, then you may want to go out and test those other frequency options that may put you into an optimal slot for at least this time of year. Now remember there are changes because of environment, solar positions, solar winds, all kinds of radiation activities up above. These are all factors that constantly are part of radio antenna theory that have to be taken into consideration. It's a bright shiny day, I should be able to talk to the word no. You're being beamed down by a whole block of radiation right now. We're going to have to wait a little bit if you want to get that signal to go farther. It doesn't mean you can't push it more with more energy, but is the communications that essential? Is it that critical? when there are other systems that probably don't have to be pushed, which means I don't have to toast any of the circuitry, I don't have to cook it or warm it up. In order for me to get the job done and get the stuff out to where it needs to be, the message out to where it needs to be, it's kind of like the difference between cranking everything up to magnum pressures, guys, and magnum velocities when medium velocity and average loadings will do a fine job of putting a target down all by themselves and without excessive energy being consumed so I can make more cartridges or in this case I can talk longer on the radio. That's where we tweak the system into perfection. Go ahead, caller. Who do we have? Yeah, at Georgetown, Texas. You know the thing is, when I was on a break-off, I took a few minutes, I walked in one of the old houses and I just saw a bunch of old, look at the perfect perfect for making a close independent network. Actually they also work really well for making just with a battery power source their field telephones. One girl just keeps asking me why do you keep grabbing all the phones that show up over here in the recycled bin and I grab all the old standard phones. Why? Because each one of them if you provide them with a power source and you can do that with a couple of D cell batteries Well, you've got yourself a field phone to go from point A to point B. George, think about that. Grab all of those phones you can get, clean them up, do some maintenance on them, then bag them up and box them up so they stay dry and out of the weather. That's all you've got to do. What about a replacement belt? Because I think those belts could technically give away position. Don't need to use a bell. What you do is actually just just open up the hood there It's very simple and just unscrew the connectors for the bell or unplug it depending on what year it was made and You won't have any bell. You can get a clapper a clacker for it or a buzzer. There's a number of different systems. All right, not not not in fact, those are available through any one of the different medical or scientific supply companies. They have a number of different goodies like that that give you a low buzz. Just a rattle. And it'll be like the military phones. Although the military phones had bells. Actually what it is is it's got a dampener on it so it doesn't chime. That's the difference. Well the fuel phones I had sound like crickets. Well that'd be the later models. Well the way to do it is actually you can take them and put a couple of pieces of tape on the bells and it'll still make a rattle buzz sound. You can use electrical tape and wrap them once and it'll still brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr We used to have, like I said, 900 plus telephone companies in Michigan alone. And most of them had private operators, had their own operators that ran connections. So it's not hard to do, and it's one of those things that can be easily put back into service to get the phones back online real quick after everything goes to hell in a hand cart. Bypassing the NSA BS. Yeah, in fact, what it is is you're going low. Well, here's the one cool thing. If the phones are old enough, remember you can use them for a weapon. You could beat people with those things and they wouldn't break. If it's a mob bell or a bell telephone type phone system, they were built out of what eventually they started building football helmets out of. And all the research, though, was done for building phones in public areas. Think about it. Now your China Sport phones won't last like that, but I've been getting a lot of the, well I guess you might call them the first model princess phone, but in the touch tab, I've got them just as many in the rotary, but in the touch pad. And these are built like a brick doghouse. They're the older, heavier phones, they're still out there. If you watch, you'll find them constantly being gotten rid of. So the ones you saw, grab them, keep them. So I think making a new phone network outside the NSA crap would be a good idea. Well, yeah, at the very least, remember, just a point-to-point phone from one area to another is kind of handy. We don't have to shout. And expanding on that, it would not be that complicated. In fact, it's simpler than an ethernet system, though all you're really doing when you set up an ethernet system is setting up the equivalent to what is, again, what we're talking about, a phone line system. It's very, very straightforward. So, telephone especially. The big thing is, again, an onboard power source if you want to supply the line. Well, consider what you're already seeing on the roads out there, guys. A battery, a few batteries, and a charging solar system. and 99% or 80% of your power needs would be taken care of during the day from direct drive or would be through storage cell using batteries to provide the power and then going that way. So that would be the solar cells just like you're seeing for all these other emergency service and repeaters on the highways. You see it on California first because out in the desert area around Los Angeles. But eventually it hasn't been picked up all over the place. And just basically take the same ID and apply it to other issues that you want to bring up to speed. Go ahead. I think it's almost top. Yeah, we're at the top. We're gonna hear the music because we got oh, that's right Joe from the Carolinas coming up next you want to know how to grow things make food for yourself Food is good. Eating is good. Well, Joe from the Carolinas will be covering it this next hour So don't you touch that dial make sure that you're there live and by the way, don't forget again if we've got the end of the year bill coming up and that will be Whoa, there we go.
