Mark Koernke discussed government market manipulation and industry degradation, using trucking as an example of how regulatory overreach and flooding markets with poorly trained workers has bastardized once-respectable professions. He took calls from listeners dealing with court proceedings and traffic citations, offering advice on filing affidavits and court records. The show featured extensive discussion of surplus police trade-in firearms (DPMS AR-15 variants and other platforms), night vision technology availability through Don, and detailed instruction on proper barrel break-in procedures for newly built rifles, emphasizing the importance of methodical cleaning and incremental shooting protocols to ensure accuracy and weapon longevity.
is the top of the arc you got to take off we understand no no no I'm saying we're just skipping roll right on through it right exactly just a benchmarking for everybody should we got to take off we understand but meanwhile we're going to proceed with the program so we're heading right on through after all we own the network I think we can do that here yeah I know anyway getting back to the story this happened in Wisconsin after somebody went running these truck driving schools okay that he came into a construction zone And for one reason or another, he couldn't get the truck slowed down. He was going too fast or what have you. So he unbuckles his seatbelt and goes back in the sleeper because he knows he's going to crash. Well now a truck and trailer, 80,000 pounds, is freewheeling down through a construction zone and runs over an entire family. The only one that survived was the husband who was driving the car. Killed all three of his children and his wife. And then when I got to the court, he all stated, they put it in the newspaper that he stated he was told the safest place to be. Okay? When other companies, I'm not going to throw any names out there, but you know it was like all of a sudden it was like crash and burn on the highways man, and then they were reason to have you know DOT checks and you know the suppression of the trucking industry came into view because they were all druggies and junks and reckless drivers and unsafe equipment and Blah blah blah, anything that you could imagine was being thrown at the table. They were painting the picture of the nasty, badass truck driving industry. And prior to the government so-called schools for truck drivers, there was no such thing that existed. And this has happened with everything else that you can think of. If you... Just imagine this for a second. I mentioned this one time, long time ago. Just a little observation on my part if you're getting emails that says become an RN or you know a nurse or something or a police officer be an investigator be a truck driver be a computer repair or something what that is is they are flooding the market with that particular skill or talent and they're taking it over. They're bastardizing that particular industry. Think about it for a second when they start bastardizing Major industries the trucking industry the computer I remember when people who could work on computers way back when they made good money Good money. I remember when the trucking industry brought out good money, but you worked for it my friends You work for you had to have knowledge of wisdom the skill the understanding But after they got through bastardizing what is a computer repair guy make today? What, minimum wage? How about RNs and LNs and you know all the nurses? What do you think cops are making by comparison? Yeah, there's a question for you. What do you think of the police departments of yesterday compared to the police departments of today? Do you think that they have bastardized the judicial industry? There's a question for you. If you've been alive long enough that you know what law enforcement used to look like or do compared to what it is today, you can answer that question for yourself. Look at what they've done to everything that they've touched and taken over. Flooded the market with a lack of education. Look at the school systems. Is there anybody out there who wants to disagree with me that the school system is today? They just are not functioning, my friends. Oh, they're functioning. They're doing exactly what they wanted them to do. And they flooded every market, everything that they touched, it turned out exactly what they intended uncreated. They put truck drivers on the road, running over people, killing them, no common sense whatsoever. Everything, everything without exception that they have touched, They have bastardized. Where, I don't know man, it's almost shameful to be a truck driver. Or a nurse, or something. Anyway, we have calls coming in here. Let me take Hardway on line one. Good morning Hardway. Good morning Joe. Reference thing, traffic ticket. Suggest that you sit down and you write a letter giving a quick overview, or I should say your son, of the facts that happened. And send that to him certified mail. Additionally, what I would say is anyone that was in that room with him on his behalf, an affidavit of statement of truth, poured it into the record. What this guy's gonna do is he's gonna come back and issue a bench warrant, be driving down the road someplace too much now, just tell him a bench warrant. I've watched this happen quite a number of times. We would go to whatever the success of it. We would go in and have everyone that was there, our people, statements of truth into the record and then feel asleep things started to happen the way they were supposed to happen the judge realizes oh shoot I'm not dealing with one stupid I'm dealing with ten apparently knowledgeable people and there's nothing else or at least organized gonna leave this one alone I hate just just so you know over I'm going this paperwork because that recording of your courtroom while we're going back today to get a copy of that and also I'm going to see the prosecutor Well, remember the prosecutor's there. He's standing there. He knows what's going on. He wasn't in the courtroom. Well, who was prosecuting? The judge. The judge, how wonderful. Yeah, I've seen that a lot. If it's not in writing, because of your boy, nothing's running. Recording there. Let you drive. It's funny they're going to feed on him. We all understand the mechanism. We've found that that court it into the record and if they won't take it into the case, file it under miscellaneous. If you have to go to the next county to get it filed. Because remember it is a state charge isn't it? The county it was filed in. Alright that's all I got, Joe. I wish you the best with that message. Alright, I appreciate it. Thank you. Bye. Alright, good morning Don. I'm out of grigio. I just came in and heard the last of it was like. Yeah, because what the judge did, he just called the recess and walked out. He didn't say we won't reconvene at any time. He didn't say anything like we have anything like that, right? No. So like I said, we... So he's basically got you on the hook and he's letting you run the line there, right? Yeah, well I'm gonna run right back to the courthouse today. There you go. And again, you know another way to do that is where things were brought up and then there's also... Yeah, he definitely spoke into the microphone. There was no question about that. Everybody else sat down, they didn't even bother with the microphone. But my son pulled the microphone right over to his mouth and spoke clear. But he was there just to fleece the fox. That's what he thought his day was going to be. He was going to be worshipped and they were going to kiss his hand. He held a ring on his hand and all this other stuff. Fines making into thousands were merciful today. Here's his only 200. This kind of thing. Let's go to Bill in Texas here. See what Bill has for us this morning. Good morning, Bill. Good morning, guys. I've worked with this gentleman for... to have a driver's license. He uses Passport for ID. Well, you know, when they... Is this a court of law? You have a maritime court down... you know, they wait till he's the last person. It's a commercial vehicle. Driver's license, unless it's a commercial vehicle. Right. And the judge would keep trying to get him to say certain... Right. That's what he's doing. ...let's call it an automobile or... Right. And he also of the to do that. He would have a copy of that. The judge would follow the judge. He would make sure that it would get put in either well they're just going to put in the computer and a license or registration because he won three times. People who have done that by county here in Michigan but when they get out of them. You have to fight your way across country. Yeah but I don't know of having the court procedure handbook and he's supposed to he's violating the state code. I'm going I'm on my way back over to the today to get records. I'm going to be speaking with the sheriff and the prosecutor. So my question is, what is his intent? His intent is to try to say that he wasn't in the courtroom yesterday and I was there. I know that he was. And there was other people there that knows he was going. Once I get the copy of the court record, hopefully they'll have the names and stuff on it. I'll be contacting people as well. So I've got things I have to do and I appreciate the advice. As you can imagine, being the owner of the station, there isn't much we haven't discussed already. My point is, folks, you have to get in and do the battle. That's it. If you don't, then you'll be just like the flock that they faced through there, just like yesterday. Well, if you don't want to be a juror, all you have to do is have your jurors write handbook in your pocket. If you're a juror, they won't pick you. you met him because he has a jury duty now. Okay, back over to you guys. Something just came to mind I think I need to attend to. Let me bow out of here for a little bit and Martin, Don, go ahead. Well, before we go any farther, after the hour, Don, you've got night vision technology. It's available. The people get ahold of you, find out what all is on hand, how can we do that, what's available. Where are the numbers with the first gen rifle sights? You know, the whole night vision scopes now please. If you're picking any or your device is basically the same too. The bigger magnification on them have it. But these gores, they're full of projected straps on the edge of the rain. We actually were darker when we first started the program, but now we've got that general thick miasmic haze. More likely the piddly rain is going to last. I didn't get a chance to have you fill in, but where are we with these? The bottoms of stuff away for one minute. And again, a reminder of the weapons site we're talking about, those A3 type flat upper ARs, that weapon, if you already got one, all you have to do is connect the keepers for that carry handle in the site you might have or the rear site system, drop Don's first generation night site on that A3 and she's ready to roll. In fact, if we can build a weapon and it's an A3 and it's cheap enough, one of the things we've discussed is just leaving it on that platform, leave it on that weapon system as is, build another weapon system system up for daylight operations. It is only about a 6 pound firearm you're dealing with here weight wise. Having another is a good thing. Having another set up with night vision technology on board is especially a good thing. So it would behoove you to actually take advantage of that idea, that concept and plug it in accordingly. So again, get hold of Don, find out more about the night vision technology itself. Pay attention, the companies I was going to mention on the air have already sold out of these police trade-in guns. Apparently they were, if they're selling them for $450, they probably got them for about $290. The trade-in guns were DPMS, either M4 slash A, CAR-15, M3, or forgive me, M4 type rifles, but they do have a carrying handle on board. I've seen them for $450, the other company, which was one of the gun trader companies, had All the weapons for about 460 to 470. There were a couple of variations depending upon rating. I don't know how they could rate them other than a little blem here and wear and tear there because these were cop shop guns that have been traded in. Apparently the DPMS Air 15 wasn't good enough. They gotta have something else. The latest version of the same gun. But anything is just the same gun. Yeah, but they just had to spend more taxpayer money. And they did. worried about that. The idea is we're going to take advantage of the fact that we've got this stuff out there in the system and that it is available for us to access. Well, take advantage of that. Let's plug it in and act accordingly. Again, we would like everybody to kind of eyeball the industry. We're looking for more of these. Whoever's gotten them has sold out pretty quick. And again, I don't know what's going to transpire with that we'll find out more as things go along through the day and through the week here. I think we'll have a couple other people. Should be able to track them down for us. If the shoppers distributed these amongst, spread them out quite a bit. Only probably 20 to 40 guns in each lot. When they're out, they're out, they're not expecting to get any more. One of the things about police trade-in guns is that they are surplus guns. They're gone. It's not like they're going to go find another bucket full from the same department. They may have another weapon. They'll eventually sell out or they might sell out right away. But it probably isn't going to be a handgun because they just bought new ones. See how that works? What they'll do is they'll train the entire fleet of firearms in that category like Glocks or Sigs or Revolvers, etc. And then they move on to the next category. Another interesting thing that popped up here that I noticed and I I know that the Fed slash Gov operations have 10 millimeter out there in service guys. You don't expect that. But one of the things that we need to remember is that if you're going to be looking at these surplus weapons, remember that most of the cop shop guns, they don't really, there's a percentage that are hangar queens. They're on the rack, they have a number, they're part of the department, but they never go anywhere. I mean literally they might be out for a test or shoot or a custom issue to somebody because you've got a visiting individual, it could be secret police from the Fed, a foreign secret, it could be a number of things. But a lot of these weapons that are out there that are showing up as surplus typically have what we call holster wear and that's about it. They're very serviceable, there's nothing wrong with them in terms of their operation. They may not be as pretty because some have been worn more so than others and that's really where the rating goes for finish, it's not for fit, you know, component. But an interesting thing about this is that a percentage of the 10mm mags are out there. I know some of you guys that have 10s, they're the odd man out pistol. When 10mm and .40 caliber came onto the market, there was, you know, going to be competition, kind of like the old Colton's, the cartridges. So the 10 lost out. Not that it's a bad round, actually it's a fighter round, so you don't want to get shot with anything, but 10mm works quite well. You've got it, you just keep buying ammo if that's something you decided to commit to. But I would recommend that if you have any of the, shall we say, standard factory guns, don't forget you can change out barrels and switch out to another caliber. And I would seriously look at that with any of your orphan rounds or unique rounds. We've discussed this many, many, many, many times. Let me give you an example of something. I was talking earlier about the 30-30 barrels available through Gun Parts Corps. They're $24 a piece. They're finished, but they're in the white. They're in other words, they're rifled. They're chambered. They're ready to go. One of the places where a project barrel like that would be really handy, especially where it's a 24-inch barrel, is an inexpensive receiver, guys. In this case the Arasaka receivers with the bolts, why? Well the basic 30-30 cartridge is ideally suited base wise to made up to the 6.5 or to the 303 British actions. 30-30 is more readily available than obviously either of the cartridges were mentioning. 303 is still out there but again there's tons of these surplus guns and billions of rounds. But if you're building a new gun 30-30 is not a bad option for a chain ring and you're looking at a brand new barrel for $24.50 to experiment with. So that's one of the reasons that we're interested in those barrels is to actually resuscitate older action that typically you can walk through the gun show, you can buy a smelly receiver for about 10 dollars, you can buy a bolt for another 8, you can pick up other parts and pieces and assemblies. And remember the British Enfield rifles are a rimmed case to begin with. So they're already built up for a rimmed cartridge. Now you're not interested in a barrel because you're not going to put the factory barrel on it. You're not going to chamber it in .303. You're going to chamber the weapon in .30 Winchester. That makes for a pretty interesting combination. So again, just ideas. You can be a little creative if you're a machinist. All the specs are out there for the barrel threading guys. One of the other crude ways to do it is to actually machine out the receiver, it is threaded, and go with a cross pin. Pin the barrel instead of thread. This is something that you might recall, the SKSs are both threaded and pinned barrels. Obviously again, with 3030 cartridge you're looking at less pressure, you're looking at a very simple center fire system as far as operation goes. And you can make it into a nice little pack driving game getter or anti-personnel rifle. There's a number of different options there. The Arasaka actions, if you go for the ones that have been ground and chopped, they've got the Lotus that's been intentionally obliterated because of the Emperor symbol. Well, the neat thing is those are not as popular. And so people have been stripping those receivers and taking other receivers, mix matching parts to make Arasaka's that are more collectible. While the other less pretentious parts, you can bargain basement and Arasaka action together for about $32 or so. Now with one of those 30-30 barrels and an old sporterized stock that you're going to bring back to life, you can actually put a nice little weapon together that can be stuck away with a decent little mid-power scope on the roof. That weapon will do everything that any other tactical rifle out there will do. And again, it's in a caliber that's still readily available. There's a lot of 30-30 out there. Federal, Remington, Lynchchester, S&B, creamy partisan, everybody makes it. and it's an American Standard Caliber, so it will be there for a long time. Marlin still has the lever actions, lots of Winchester lever actions out there, etc. We're at the bottom of the hour, I hear the music, Tom. When we come back from break, we'll talk about breaking in that barrel. Had a request or two for that, so we'll be right back, you guys. Don't touch that dial in while the break is running. Write down our sponsor's numbers so you can call them up and purchase their product. We'll be right back. Folks, Ronnie McMullen here for Life Change Tea. Our friends out there in the Sari Vista, the surrounding areas of the morning, that was the wake up song on the alarm radio when we would get up. into the courtyard there at U-6 and go, oh, another day. Oh, man. Close on duty, you know, defecate, turn and shave. Go down two flights of stairs there in front of us. Turn to the left, step out into the parking lot, jump into formation, and look at the global communications and command center, a brand new heaping pile of antennas and a lot of above and below ground operations right there at Fort Wiegotchup and where, well, of course, Sorry Vista, right out the East Gate Sierra Vista, we used to call it. The name is Notorious. Everything's gotten bigger, everything's gotten bolder. Things change, but Fort We Got You is still beautiful mornin'. Again, your number for night vision before we go any farther, you're gonna be available here in about half. Speaking of phone numbers, hey Alaska, I need to hear from Alaska. Something like that called on in the book or the notebook or on a piece of paper or written down on the back of your hand somewhere, a bolt's action gun. for now, but hey, caliber that's all your own, if your face like getting that 22 for Christmas, let's take my word for it, you're at Watson, you'll get PN. But you've got the phone number and I'm pretty certain that that's the proper phone number, I've got one of my little toes on it. Gonna put it on a new FN and talked about foresighting the gun and we talked about breaking in the barrel. We're gonna do that again here right now because it's a weapons one thing and you just built up a new gun, didn't you? Now this'll even work for pistols. you'll figure out why as we get to buy that new gun and then you take it out of the box. And it's just like, just to say, even if I go out and you know, there are people who are making a gun, you just run a magazine through it and clean it and it's broken in. You would break in and set a new car, you know, how you don't drive it. So, 95 miles an hour for any, well, you know, take it on a extended train new car. All kinds of things that, you know, some of them are, you take it out of the dealership and you accelerate about 10 times and you just And then after that, while it just, and you don't accelerate the car up hills, that's a way to set rain. Harley Davidson for years, they told you to don't run over 45 miles an hour for like the 200 miles and 50 miles an hour for the next 100 miles. And they gave, but they told you to wait and then let off the throat, hold the contents of the vacuum and the ring's area and rinses down the, the ring lands and things that help to wear. Same things go on when you send a, a, a Now the manufacturer, he's gonna do what he can and you can, you guys, you can spend some money and people will pile down everything all to it. It's not gonna wear out. A chrome bore is gonna last a good long time, but in order of accuracy, you guys, a chrome bore has got either of your steel bores after that, your chrome molly, you know, your other high steel, high carbon steel. Lay that down, molecule by molecule and control it from just a good long time and a chrome's brought behind that. Every time you go bang, well, jewels away from target and you put everything back together and you bring your, you again, the guys that say you break in your gun by running a magazine through it with that bolt. You clean it, you need kind of, you're leaving brass in that barrel and they don't use the proper cleaners to clean brass out. Ammonia's a great brass. It rips. The ability he made it, again, smooth possible, but God didn't make it. There are gonna be irregularities that, and keep it in the barrel. Send another bullet, clean that bore so you see no brass. on the rag. You drag a couple more rags to it, you send another bullet down range. You might at this time be stepping back to like 100 yards because you're certain of your point of aim versus your point of impact. And now, in that second bullet, all of that copper brass out of that four, haven't you? You do this five, there are those that say you do this ten particular, if you're really patient, ten times. Back in your building your drop chart, you're not wasting your two five, something ten. I would recommend time and patience to is patient to shoot at 500 or 1000 or 1500 yards. That's not an exaggeration. That isn't even a mile yet. Full of earth. Wrong way to go before it goes subsonic. And your 100 yards is just slinking. I'm about to slow down enough to where you're going to bounce. The rack is going to quit. When it moves past under that speed of sound, it's going to change direction ever so slightly. The 100 yards isn't beyond belief, even with your 338. How about we could talk about that 4.08 shy touch. So, building a gun to shoot a burpee down the road, break it in. I recommend 10 and clean 10, 8 shots. Now you're going to double up on that. You're going to shoot two rounds and you're going to clean between. It comes out of the four. Then you can do that five or you can do that. And then you're going to shoot three shots, aren't you? Now by this time you're starting to get real familiar with this particular gun, aren't you? And by the way, you're not any of that brass are you because it's all becoming fire-formed to that gun than a fact thing else's the time you're about out there maybe four now you're gonna find all of a sudden shoot five downrange or you shoot downrange and you clean the gun and you think to yourself that's not true more downrange and you clean the gun and you say man it is coming cleaner faster why because here's what you've done you have burned maybe not all of them little machine can't even hardly hold a magnification or so you know a mountainside a whole lot more live longer it's accuracy those that are going to tell you man he wasted that whole afternoon but that same clean the gun in the magazine and then clean the gun you run along with him every weekend down there and you basically for years and years he's going to need a barrel at time but you know doing things right takes time in a barrel now there are those who offer commercial grades of bullets you buy this hundred clean the gun until it comes clean and good long at Most important is, no matter what the weapon is, OOP! Smokeless powder dies and I was told it was non-corrosive! Well, yeah, but anytime you have dirt, Remember, dirt collects moisture with weapons, metal, you know, steel products. It's not really a good idea to bring moisture to the table. Even with stainless, it's stainless steel! I was told I could leave it right there and come back a year later and it looked just like it did. Well, yeah, to a degree, but there are 540 plus stainless out there. You don't know what the particular greatest stainless is. Find out. You know, actually, find out the hard way. That's kind of embarrassing. So rule number one, we're going to clean our weapons, right? No matter what they are. Proper maintenance is going to be done on a regular basis. This will ensure that every time we come back, the weapon will do what it was designed to do. That's kind of a nice thing when it comes down to survival, especially in the field. And it would probably be a preferential situation for those of you that are listening. So don't let somebody convince you, ah, you don't need to clean that. Of course, people aren't the ones that, those aren't the people that are gonna be putting the gun to your shoulder. You're going to be the one picking the weapon up probably next. So let's just make sure the thing functions properly. Prior to proper planning prevents a piss poor performance. And weapons maintenance is a high. Now breaking in the gun, this is pointed out by Don, there are steps progressing steps development. Through repetition you develop skills. You also gain knowledge about your system, what works, what doesn't, what serves my purpose, what doesn't. This is one of the other reasons for embracing the firearm. Get used to the idea of handling it. Don't be afraid to handle your firearm when it comes to operation in general. A lot of people are conditioned that, oh my god, I'm safe. Well, when the time comes, I'll learn that. I'll figure out how to make that happen. If you buy a guitar, you don't leave it in the closet. Right. You have a tendency to work it a little bit. A real good idea. OK? So just something to consider there, guys. Again, when you're in the field, you're at home. take the system out, build up a bench area or work area where you can break down equipment like this. You have a bench for tools for working on automotive. Well, you should have a roll-up piece of carpet or a piece of carpet you can throw up there and it'll allow you to work your weapon to actually break it down, understand all the nuances, everything thoroughly. Break out the white cloth and break out the Q-tips. especially UAR-15 operators, because I always love that. It's like, are you sure it's clean? And you know, they did that to you in the military purely for the sake of making sure, since they were putting that weapon on the rack for the last time, next guy picking it up just didn't have as much to do. But you break out a Q-tip and you start wuking it into all those little corners and it comes out black. So you toothbrush scrub and you plastic scrub and you get your old ear more cleaner in there and you're scrubbing away and you clean it up some more and you're thinking well it all looks the same finish again and you take it up and you break out the q-tip and they go where'd all this black come from? And eventually you get really frustrated because it's like man this sucker's got a lot of places to hide garbage doesn't it? And the first thing I would point out if you're an AR-15 operator is Yes it does. But don't worry, all firearms work the same way. When you pull the trigger you create carbon. Carbon is not your friend, we've got to get it off the rifle, we've got to get it off the weapon guys. We're going to break them in, we're also going to make sure once we got her in the niche, we got her in the groove, we maintain a consistent performance. Sound your number for night vision please.
