Summary
Mark Koernke discussed weapons preparedness and equipment sourcing on Weapons Wednesday, May 14, 2014. He covered rifle optics selection (emphasizing reliability over fancy features), ammunition types and storage, web gear and carrying systems for magazines and supplies, and fielded caller questions about vintage firearms including Winchester single-shot shotguns, .22 rifles, and shotguns. He stressed the importance of water caches in desert environments, proper weapon maintenance (especially extractor cleaning), and practical solutions for equipping militia members with affordable, functional gear from commercial suppliers.

As we know, when Mark's looking for something, nowadays I just seem to place everything in the process. And that means you need to fire my hang den is what you need to do. It is Weapons Wednesday. Don't forget, you've got a couple of really cool resources. We're going to make sure that we cover again. MN7175 Gold Butte Road 07. And, Monday Ranch 3315 Gold Butte Road, Bunkerville, Nevada 89007. Monday Ranch 3315 Gold Butte Road, Bunkerville, Nevada 89007. I believe I hear the music. We're going to go to break here. God bless the Republic. That's the New World Order. We shall prevail, ladies and gentlemen. The Empire is on the run. We're in a march. It is Weapons Wednesday on the Rock. A figure walked him through the mist with a flintlock in his hand. His clothes were torn and dirty as he stood there by my bed. He took off his three-cornered hat, speaking low to me, and fought a revolution to secure our liberty. We wrote the Constitution as a shield from tyranny. For future generations, this legacy we gave. In this, the land is free. The freedoms we secured for you, we hoped you'd always keep. Tyrants labored endlessly while your parents were asleep. Your freedom's gone, your courage lost. You're no more than a slave to the free, the brave. You buy permits to travel and permits to own a gun. It's to start a business or to build a place for one. On land that you believe you own, you pay a yearly rent. Although you have no voice in saying how the money's spent, your children must attend a school that doesn't educate, and your Christian values can't be taught. According to this, you read about the current use in a regulated press. And you pay a tax you do not owe to please the IRS. Your money is no longer made of silver nor of gold. You trade your wealth for paper so your life can be controlled. Paper crimes that make our nation turn from God and shame. You've taken Satan. You've given government control to those who do you harm so they could burn down churches and seedly farm. and keep our country deep in debt. Put men of God in jail, harass your fellow countrymen while corrupted courts prevail. Your public servants don't uphold the solemn oaths they've sworn. And your daughters visit so their children, your leaders send artillery and guns to foreign shores and send your sons to slaughter fighting other people's wars. You regain the freedoms for which we fought and died. Or don't you have the courage or the faith to stand with pride? And are there no more values for which he will fight to save? The Constitution, the supreme law of the land. Preserve our great republic and each god given right. By a woke he vanished in the mist for whence he came. His words were true. We are free, but we have ourselves to blame. For even now his parents trampled each god given right. We only watch him tremble, too afraid to stand and fight. If he stood by your bedside to dream while you were asleep and wondered what remains of the freedoms he fought to keep, what would be your answer? He called out from the grave. along with Alaska. We're in the hallmark network from the top of Maine to the bottom of Florida. From the bottom of Florida across the arc of the Gulf of Mexico, headed to Louisiana, Mississippi, Texas, Oklahoma, big chunk of Nebraska, a whole bunch of Wyoming to include both third the beans leap over the Mississippi and the Smoky slash the Blue Ridge where the red names OKT and the Ma Bell Grammar Consortium of retired telecommunications workers bring us like many hands make for a million Peddico Junction operators ability to continue to function. Beautiful, beautiful. Weapons Wednesday out there, it's rainy, it's cloudy and not so cloudy and it goes back and forth between the conditions through the day as we can see when we have, oh springtime, we even have sun on the field out there right now as we speak. Kind of like a unique image. We got gray-black overhead, we got sun flooding in from the side. Well, it's a dynamic spring. Anyway, it is the 14th of May. It is a six-year-old open Fabian the Socialist and Soviet Socialist Occupation town. As we said, for everybody out there, we are covering a number of different subjects. As it is, just a quickie. Let's not forget. In fact, if you want to keep hearing the programming, you've got to support the microeffect guys. We need your help there. First of all, Joe McNeil, P.O. Box 164, Kamiye, Idaho 83. Joe McNeil, P.O. Box 164, Kamiye, Idaho 83536, take the time, grab an envelope, put a $5 bill in there or a couple dollars or whatever you can. If you can do more, please do. If you want to continue to hear the micro effect, we've got to keep the power on, we've got to keep the algae running, we've got to pay for the satellite feed, the whole nine yards to do that, to get it done. That means we need everybody to pitch in. So again, Joe McNeil. P.O. Box 164, Kamiye, Idaho 83536. And the idea is to keep the resources heading that direction to help out up there. Now, also a quick reminder because it is Weapons Wednesday. Remember, guns are for buying, not for selling. And ammunition, ammunition, ammunition. Did I say ammunition? I hope it did. Anyway, when you're looking at that solution, as I mentioned in the last hour, call ammunition first because of simplicity. better to hit it and hit it over and over again because your weapon continues to function as opposed to other ideas that people get. Well, we can work with all the... No, no, no, no, no, no. Yeah, it might be the latest cartridge in the world, it might be the latest bullet, but you know what? It may not work that well in your weapon. The other issue is, it works most of the time, but if there is a malfunction, if you have to give the weapon to somebody else, especially if you're looking at a 5.10 program, kiss, keep it simple, stupid. The most important thing is that the weapon continues to repeatedly function so that the operator gains positive experience of the weapon. Now, the trainer is going to go, oh, Mark, they should have immediate action drills and this and that and the other. Yeah, that's a wonderful idea. Except that you're looking at war-time turnaround and in the situation where people are going to be pressed into service simply with what you got and how you got them. So while, yes, I immediately when you say something like this, there's always somebody making a comment about, well, I would just as well do that. Unfortunately, the majority of the people out there are going to be bringing people online. Some of them are going to be handed weapons that have a basic understanding of firearms, but no, they're not, quote, unquote, operators, okay? Now, because of that, those people who aren't operators can still kill you dead, dead, dead, provided they're given a good tool, tool, tool. So we're going to make sure our tools work, more so than anything else. I'm not worried about the latest widget. I'm worried about reliability. That's more important than anything else. Is it fancy? No. Is it rugged? Yes. Is it easy to understand? Oh yes. Pretty much plug and play. And that's really what's needed in phase one. Especially where you're bringing new individuals onto the battlefield and you've got to develop, build, and build up experience and confidence. Stupid kiss. So, again, do we add optics to the rifle we were talking about the last hour? Yeah. In fact, we can. There are a number of options that we can go to for optics but again uh... side rail mounted in a cave for problem about putting a key together the water a case waster tens five hundred dollars have the uh... what this means is that you can go with night vision and a vision as you know we've talked about this many times uh... the option to do both is a positive thing it's a good okay that's about the real systems is pretty well on you take one off you put it in a pelican can Now what I mean by a Pelican can is a small little briefcase. Actually it's a little carrier case, no bigger than the system you were wanting to store. And that way it can be fitted into your day pack, the fanny pack you're carrying, or into your backpack. Behind this, during hours of darkness you can switch off from day optics to night optics and go with a system that again you can afford. More on that when we get done. Most important here again is that when you buy mounts, buy two or three at a time, if you buy from deal extreme dot com deal extreme dot com feel extreme divide three at a time or sell a lot cheaper for a little cheaper three dollars if you buy three of them which means that you have to be able to the price a couple boxes amo or a box of ammo in this day and age uh... depending on what it is uh... you can actually buy you can save and buy those three mouthed you need now why mark a three Now this is where again it's a variable. If you only have so much money, I understand or if in your mind I only need one day, one night optic, that's fine. However, if you want to go with a complete golf bag, so to speak, or a toolbox, the night scope is obvious. That's going to be on one rail system and one of the fixtures. The next fixture will have an intermediate fix. Simple, very, very crude but effective, so to speak. It's not crude. It's very sophisticated. It's better than anything most people had in the last couple hundred years on a firearm. Come on. But straightforward 9-power would work. Now 9-power is something you say, that's a little more than anything. No, that's actually an intermediate scope. You get very much a back driving wood chuck environment scope or go all the way down to a simple, you know, three to five variable optic. Well, the 9-power gives you something especially to work with that 70 by 39 round that we just bought. you to confirm point of impact hits, actually ID what it is you are shooting at with the smaller scopes, it's like an iron sight system, certainly I don't have a problem with iron sights, we're not going to take those off the weapon, you can, because when the optics do, Mark always talks about backups and backups and backups, well that scope rail can come off, you preserve what is the weapon with the scope system and you would go back to iron sights, okay? But the mid-range scope, especially with the 7.62x39 because it very much has the same performance range. Chester? Oh, you didn't. You didn't compare ballistics. You take the time to do that? Yeah, the .3030 Winchester is nothing to sneeze at. I mean, after all, if you believe in the 7.62x30... That .3030 Winchester will do a fine job of putting holes in you just as well. So don't ever get rid of your .3030s. Never, never, never. Never know when you're going to run into ammo for it when you can't get AK ammo. Anyway, fact of the matter is, performance range is about the same. Range for points of impact and effective range are about the same. The 3030 is not a super range, you know, like mule deer cartridge at 800 yards, but like the AK round in the assault rifle caliber slash the light rifle caliber, the 3030 and the 3539 will adequately knock down with an intermediate and short range anything you want to. Nine power scope gives you to ID, most important is to be using the spotting scope. So it's kind of handy when you have a heavier rifleman around to have a little more optic firm with the primary shooter might be working on. Now you can also, for those of you who say, well Mark, I still would want that smaller scope, well you got three scope mounts. So there's two options. That third one can either mount the exact same scope that you already, we were just talking about, that way you have two systems set up and you're not going to carry those in the field. You're only going to carry one in the field, the case, and carry the night vision in and you don't have the day scope on the switch, things change out, switch out the scopes. But that second one is either going to be a backup sighted scope system that's identical to what you're already committed to, or if you wanted to, you could add another club to the golf bag. And you could go with that short range, short power scope, other work. Your choice will eventually develop at least one or the other or you may decide that you know you're thinking enough and you've got enough experience that you will move back and forth between the different optics depending upon need and environment. Another thing to take into consideration, we're not the military, we're not restricted. Okay, we don't have the anal retentive control freaks that you know randomly pop up on your horizon in your job pool, you know you're during your mission or operations where one person and the next idiot comes online is you don't need this and you shouldn't have that and that's not authorized, blah blah blah blah blah, only because the pantywastes, you know, he hates guns to begin with, has no business being able in management. You mean in the military? Yes, in the military, it's how they are people. Most of the characters are dimwits contrary to what you think, just because they're in the military does not mean that they really know much about firearms. Just reverse. Don't assume that. It's the only, he handled a gun. Yes, everybody in the army handles a gun. They actually know any more than what they're told. conditioning or class they get is well that's a throw the dice and most of them of course do the you know they have to do the anything on the army on the army was so horrible and i thought that would occur they wanted to army job to the one in my college benefits and that was it all right and so again the panty waste when they're done embrace the college environment the anti-gun bs the whole on air you know that it happens it again they had no business being there in the first place you know i mean All they do is screw other people's lives up, fumble the ball constantly, and then they... Well, they leave behind a whole... You bobble ahead and do whatever they say, and it's like as soon as their ass is out of the way, you learn to make sure they don't know what's going on. Back all them with BS, and keep them like mushrooms in the dark. Yeah, you're right. Yeah, you can go over there and get your ch- Yeah, over there. Away from all of us. Yeah, thank you. Goodbye. Yeah, just get the communist out of the way. Get the little rat communist out of the way. In the little... In... With his little Commissar red book. Anyway... Now, I still didn't find that cleaning kit that I want. I know where I can get them wholesale right now. In fact, I'm looking right at them. The problem is that the average person can't get hold of these. I mean, unless you have a business ever. So, let me give you an idea. The actual cost for the Swiss kits is about $5. And they're very nice. Got to buy six at least at a time. Got to buy a couple hundred dollars worth of material to do it. But they do have them. In fact, they also have the East Germany 47 kits. They haven't seen in a while. Apparently they just got in. But the Swiss kits are finding a source for five dollars a piece. And they're definitely not in. Now we're going to go to... The next thing is we need a combat load of some kind. We need web gear. Now, one of the fastest, easiest ways still, and no, it's not anything fancy. And we can go to www.colmans.com. There's other companies that have them right now. Centerfire has had them, but they're up and down and mostly they're out of stock. So I'm not going there for the moment. I'm going to go to Coleman's. I need a simple carry system. I want something I can throw on real quick and I've got my basic magazines. I'm not talking about carrying a whole lot over the gear right now. I just need a quick, I've got my mags. I'll put the rest of the kit together off of the categories out there that are just mentioned. But what I'm looking for is a chest pouch. commercially made ones, they're all over the place. If you find one that fits the A-hole price, we build Michigan militia manufacturing, okay, our M-s operations. Those mag pouches, chest pouches, are covered in the equipping video. Have them in now, just in the last eight. No way! Okay, well, you know what? I'm gonna have to hunt a little more here. Forgive Mark for doing this to you. I thought I was gonna send you to a place that would have them in stock, but Not only that but they had two different versions they got in and they sold both of them out Okay, slap mark in the microphone for this one man I thought I was gonna direct you towards something but apparently everybody else is grabbing and scarfing up a lot of the same stuff when they see it be $11 and $13 apiece and I think that's why they're gone. They're going for okay We're gonna go over to keep shooting calm to a fishing expedition there. I'm looking for a chest pouch I need a simple 47 do we have anything? No, there's nothing Well, you guys, somebody is really snapping up some of this stuff. And it's this, if we can find them, might work. Jumping out at me and going, Walmart, that's really fascinating and reasonably priced. If I can't find it and it's reasonably priced, or it's not reasonably priced, I'm not really excited about it if you give them a drift. We're not trying to spend top dollar. I'm trying to put something there as quickly as we can lay. It appears that most of the companies have out of the chest pouches, and that's only in the last couple of days. Trying to find something up to the Bumbeys. Again, I'm going to have to do a search for that. What I would recommend, and again, I'll look to see what I can... Oh, we've missed. Ah, see, Mark always has other options. Go in another direction. We'll see what we can see here. We might be able to find what we need at mainmilitary.com, which is available in the Find Them in the Future. And, yeah, like, no way. Oh, Mark is really, really winning today for you guys. I'm doing you no good at all. Well, actually I can't say that because there is something I've mentioned before that works really well. There's a gimme bag. Since I bought ten of those plastic mags, I'm going to need one of these anyway. At MainMilitary.com, they have the Belgian Engineered Gas Mask Bag. Now, it's a gas mask bag, per se, but they really make good cargo bags. Why? Because they're deep. They're 13 inches deep. They're 5 inches by 5.5 inches. And they have a shoulder strap. Now, this is not the only item I need but I do need some of these bags so I can pack in nothing but magazines magazines into a bag now what is this these are breakout bags remember we talked about it these make good breakout bags because they'll hold the uh... magazines uh... snugly in place they're not going to flop around and lop out because the bag is too short uh... they're deep enough that they can handle the mags without any problem and they've got a good flap cover the whole nine yards they're five dollars apiece you may find a better price with other companies if you do congratulations go for that puppy but main military has in stock again i've got a good quality of them he again go to come and go to surplus once you go for go from surplus go to pouches and you'll find the belgian and it's the belgian engineer gas mass bag also just usually list as uh... uh... belgian uh... excuse me don't have the most the companies that carry them So you will find them out there laying around and they are available. Now, there is one other direction that we can go this morning, but I'll get a whole system this way, which is really not a problem. Okay, Mark's gonna go a vest, because we gotta try and find a solution, right? Kentucky 59, I appreciate that. Army Navy sales has got the Army issue pocket cleaning kits, but I'm gonna run to that real quick, because you need a cleaning kit for your 8K that we just bought. Okay, that's reasonable. Nowadays, five dollars apiece. There you go. They're five dollars. They were a couple dollars apiece. Remember I told you to buy them years ago for a dollar apiece? They're in price, but at least they have them. And that's at army navy sales.com. You find a better price, thumbs up. Congratulations. You're doing better than I am. I would remind you that again, if you run into them, they are definitely worth using. Now, as long as we're over here, I'm going to check this place for poachers. Why? I'm looking for cheap. I am looking for cheap. I need cheap. I'm not looking for, you know, a big price. I'm not looking for it because, oh, that's the latest. I am looking for cheap. I'm trying to get you guys online with a system as quickly as we can for the least amount of money. And that's not always possible because surplus the way it is because stuff comes and goes and eventually we're going to go to WWW. Why? Well, Rapboard's got vests marked down. Cheap, cheap, cheap. Now how cheap are they? Well for what you pay for a Chinese communist chess pouch if you go to the more extravagant places, WWE.RAP4 has Chinese support assault vests that are made for paintball. Mark, they're paintball vests! They're made in the same stinking place all these other very expensive vests are made. And not only that, but we beat the snot out of them in training operations intentionally because people have said, what would I do with a paintball vest? Where it can use it. They're comical because again, the idea is that most of this stuff again, by multiples. And then when you get the new one, break out the sewing machine and reinforce it in spots. Okay? That's a neat little trick we learned a long time ago that you can do. In fact, you can sit down in front of the television and do a little stitchery yourself. Okay, now, one of the things about the paintball vest is the tank and canister mag pouches that they have on these things were designed for a little bulkier mag. But you know what's really cool because of that? That real bulky mag they made for the paintball gun, which makes it look like an AR AK, means that that really bulky magazine pouch, AK-47 mag, mag just... Oh wow! You're right Mark, it does! Your AK-47 mag will fit just fine. That's the oddball mag out that usually is a bummer when it comes to trying to make things work. Well, the cool thing is because they have adjustable flaps, their velcro flaps on these assault vests, they're actually pretty reasonably priced at about $30 marked down, okay? So, we're gonna go to break. We're gonna be back, and I'll talk more about this in a minute. But the idea is, I just put a kit together, basic kit. Nope, didn't get any body armor, I just looked at it. Rifle, mags, cleaning kit. We're looking for ammunition and I gotta have a way to carry the junk I just picked up. And we just gave you one. We'll be back in just a few minutes here. Go to break, grab that cup of coffee smell. Taste. Oh yeah, it's weapons Wednesday on the rock. Hey folks, Ronnie McMullen here for Life Change Tea. Who do we have, please? Jump in there please. Uh, you know, when you're in the desert out there, I'll tell ya, it's a good idea to take a lot of- Talked about and we're already, it is hot out there right now guys at the Bundy Ranch. Uh, I'll repeat, if you have water containers, here's one of the cheapest ways to do this. Everybody's been buying this bottled water. When they were out there during the, uh, the, uh, the truck-backed barbecue gate party phase, I guarantee that they tossed out lots and lots and lots of water bottles. What do you want to bet? All of those should have been refilled off the wells off of the ranch and they should have been doing exactly what you're talking about. It's called force multiplication on the fly. If you are going to be out and about, you create water caches everywhere that you can. Now you can come up with a marker system, although you don't want to be too obvious, but you can leave water in a lot of locations if you get into a fighting situation you're going to be stuck, perhaps if you're on patrol or if you're at a picket location or a defensive position you're stuck where you're stuck and that sun is not going to get shut off because you want to you want it to knock down, it's not going to happen so water is life and in the desert water without water, life is a lot shorter okay, it's that simple or you're less functional and that means that accuracy diminishes performance and operations diminish to the point where eventually your combat ineffective so appreciate that gallon jug anything you can but what i think about uh... what i like her pop bottles because the plastic doesn't break down as quickly now i would remind everybody that all plastic is by law supposed to be bio degradable in other words over a period of time it will break down it was supposed to but because of the caustics or acids that are being used with certain, you know, because of juices, it's just the nature of what they are. They have to use a different plastic to keep the stuff in. Milk jugs will last six to seven years on the shelf sometimes, but they break down somewhere during that window and actually will get gray just sitting there on the shelf. Now, for short term, it's a great idea. And what you're talking about is absolutely necessary. Water, water and more water, please. That's a good idea. And, uh, even like that, I'll, I'll You're walking, you probably ain't gonna get that far, but if I'm walking about, I scream out every quarter mile, or mile, or mile. Your neck in the sand before the, there's a good old bars in there too just in case you're- One of the things about walking, and I keep watching, but people aren't getting rid of them like they were, but they're still showing up. Carts, you know, the bags go on, infantry carts. And if you make a little box carrier for them out of plastic so that they aren't used milk crates for that matter, but you want them as light as possible so your load is mostly combat weight. Those make great transporters for stuff because they're designed, the new ones especially have extra wide wheels so they don't damage the golf turf, dude. Well, man, we just want to mess up the grid. So the neat thing is that they're actually designed to distribute weight nicely. Many of them fold up and break down to small packages. So the cool thing is that when you've got to transport it, you can put everything in the back of the trunk and it will fit. When you want to take it out and use it, you take out the cart, open it up, put everything on it, drag it out to where you're going, like you said, you can walk and drop as you go. Or for infantry, for one-way trips, guys, when the time comes, getting more junk into where you need to get it is, again, you've got to have solutions. Backpacks work. We still talk about having a backpack, but remember we're going in heavy or we're going in with deep supply whenever possible. And out of the desert, water, water, water. Even here in Michigan, we're in winter water wonderland here, guys. We get snow up to our arse and we get rain all the time. I would still state that potable water, pre-deployed, I am religious about that. Wars have been won or lost for the lack or the benefit of water. And that's simple. And the more fire that you get into places that are dry on a popcorn fart, the more you'll find out, man, I wish I'd brought more water. As we've heard time and again, guys. Go ahead, call the chair in there, please. Yeah, well, we got some guns, weapons ones. They've got some guns, got some options in the last couple months. Single barrel shotgun, 20 gauge, 12 gauge, and 100 bucks. It's almost like pretty good condition. I'm a... Wait a minute, a Winchester single shot? you do know that those are very more collectible. Well, this is the Miles A370 class after they just continued the... Yeah, remember they haven't made Winchester single shots for decades now. Yeah, I think either last week or last week. I recommend that you look at the, again I've said guns are for buying single shot Winchester if it's a nice shape. That you can walk through the gun show with and get a lot more money for especially with flinch. Chester has not made single shot shotguns for long time. Here they go up in value. That's one of those weapons like you said where what you can do is sell that to a collector who appreciates it and walk away with an AK somewhere. Yeah. Another one, though, you can go with that gun is, you know, somebody goes, hey, I want this. It's like, really? What will you pay? And he's going to be slight because he wants to try and low, you know, knock you down. However, here's the way you do it. If he's got a table, he's got a semi auto gun there or something that you like. And he's like, hey, I'll trade you that for this. Or it's like, well, you know what, if you could find an AK that's clean and you walk back up to me with that or with an SKS or with a, you know, whatever, you know, you've got to figure what does he offer, what can you find in the market. If you show up with one of those while I'm still here at the show, then we'll just trade piece for piece. How's that sound? Yeah. Now, the other one is a Shawtuck. Have you heard of those shotguns? What's the name again? Shawtuck. Wow, well it could be a Filipino, does it say made in USA or is it made in South America? Oh, okay, then it's probably one of the old American bicycle gun companies. All I could find listing for was two double barrel shotguns that they ever made, all tore down right now, both of them, farmed and tore right now. Pin channel, always check for oxidation there, clean that up, that's the most important aspect with any of the older guns. As far as, again, collectability, again, single barrel, Bicycle work era guns, if it looks like it's from the 20s or 30s, well that's almost a century ago now, it doesn't seem like it, but it's getting there. And remember, Iver Johnson, Bicycle and Gun Works, you know, H&R, Bicycle and Gun Works, they did both. Who do you think they came from for the single barrel shotguns? And that's what they made their money on initially, is just regular game getters. That's what, again, that's probably, it's from that class or from that area, if it says made in USA. Made not even have made in USA. I may not even have a serial number. If it's old enough and it doesn't have a serial number, I'd put it back towards the, it puts it back towards the turn of the century. Roll. Yeah, it don't have no numbers on it. Not that bad, but it's... Shotgun showdown range. You know, it was shotgun load down range and that's all necessary, really. It's got tight action, action tight on that tight barrel connection there. Two other guns, two .2 long rifles. I got an old Stevens pump. 100 bucks with the striker instead of external hammer. I found another from 22 Longrife. Late 80s and early 90s is when mostly they came into big waves. Is that a magazine or is it single shot? It's the magazine, yeah. I believe these are trainers for the man. It comes apart and then it slides right out. He mimics the real thing that 22 Longrife was on the back. 10-22 away. Some parts here, Corp. It's a five shot. Is it an internal or an external magazine? Tatchable mags. Yeah, you want to grab spare mags right away. They are available. The same thing on those. They're unique weapons. They're always collectible. I've got a friend of ours. Won't say his location. He's got a three-story house, the upper two stories and the attic of 22s. And he has every variation you could imagine. Lined vertically with stand up, rifle after rifle after rifle. He has the most complexion of referenceable 22s in the United States. I've seen a lot of collections very close here to where I'm sitting. It's probably the most complete. And he would tell you the same thing. Remember that they're available for a bit and then they all go. You know, they're gone. So what you want to do is buy spare mags while you can for that. Get at least a couple. A couple boxes of 20 gauge shotgun too there. Boxes, the old big boxes you used to get with shotgun shells, the full, or 4x4 box. Oh, I don't know. The 20 gauge? The full box. Not the full. It depends. to shop around to see if anybody's got any, nobody's got much 20 gauge in stock. It used to be as common as 12. There's some 20 out there. However, again, go to like unamble.com, you'll see that the show is about one, there's about one 20 gauge load for every three shotgun, you know, 12 gauge shotgun loads. Oh, I know, yeah, I got a Kmart. We were looking at something yesterday, what would we have? We got something out of a sale here and I flipped it over and I realized it had a Kmart sticker for 58 cents on it. Oh man. Yeah, that's not exactly from this decade. Oh. Actually, we've still got imperial ammunition from the 60s as a 22 and back in the day it was 17 cents a box. Oh man. 17 cents for a box at 22 and I'll tell you what, every round fires. In fact, back at that time imperial made 22 short and really short almost like the CB cap. They've never failed a fire and we've got I think I've got like you know stored away in another location. I think I've got probably 20 bricks still of that. It's a gold gold box a gold gold and blue trim box but blue trim is the minority. It's actually shiny gold for the for the boxes that came in really pretty stuff. Really bright ammo never never malfunctions never miss fires and that's 40 years old at least well 40 uh hold on. Oh yeah. Well you figured out. Yeah, 40 plus years. Oh my gosh. Old part ammo, but it still works just fine. By the way, let's go back for a minute to something else you had there. You said now that, that 2-2-2 rifle, is that a bolt? That's a bolt gun, right? It's a, uh, yeah, it's a Romain's trained their troops with, I guess. No, no, not the .22. You had another one, you said it was a .22 Remington? Oh sorry, no, I didn't get that. No, no, that was a mistake. Very good. The only reason is... That's another one of those odd nano cartridges. Now there's a couple of them like that, like Swift cartridges and the 222 cartridge. All of those are good anti-personnel slash Marmot cartridges. Most people go, Mark, they're small, or... Well, tell me about the M16 again. Yeah. You know what I mean? Always remember guys that, well, you know, people make some really weird comments. You remember that like the 220 Swift and etcetera, they're 22 caliber environment cartridges. But take a look at the big butt case that backs up the round. Okay? So if you've got those, just as a reminder for anybody, just keep plugging away at buying ammo. Those weapons are tack drivers typically. I know you don't have them, but I'm just saying in general, I got in this conversation the other day because you can get ammo for them for right now. I would buy dies because there's not gonna be any problem getting primers. And there's not going to be any problem getting bullets. If you've got any of these .22 caliber, you know, larger or smaller case to the .223, there's lots of .223 bullets out there. So there's no problem getting bullets. The big thing is coming up with your, you know, powder and anything that goes in a .223 Remington, slash 556, go in any of these other Harman cartridges. If you had to, you could even cannibalize 223 cartridges if they were available, dump the powder, pop the primer, unshot, save the bullet, and put it into one of the other varmint cartridges like that, it would all work for you. Now again, that sounds strange, but if I had a rifle that's got a really nice scope and it's already, you know, really accurate, bolt gun, that would be in service. Again guys, I want to reach farther out, I want something where I can put a bullet into somebody once, and they're finished. I don't want to spray and pray. I do not want to spray and pray. I'll have some people doing that. But most everybody out there listening, if you hit it once, you don't have to fire 499 other times and miss it. And accumulation of bullets down range doesn't count for anything in the way of a hit. Gotta remember that. It's the most common mistake. Maybe if I fire a lot, it'll eventually hit something. Well, yeah, it doesn't work in video games very well either. But they do have unlimited ammo in video games. it does not work that way in real life okay that simple jump in there please i'm sorry you want to keep the you got a little steeple with the hammer that's in the back of the string big thing about it if it's a pump gun of any kind is again keep an eye on the extractor do a due diligence with cleaning around the extractor area that is the most again most critical component is getting you know that case out of the weapon uh... and i've seen this over and over again with the twenty twos Typically people wonder why it's malfunctioning when they operate the action at sealers. The brass sticks! Well then you take a look and what they have done is they've usually cleaned the barrel, cleaned the chamber, they've even probably dusted off the bolt, but the extractors, remember, are a fine piece of machinery. And all of your weapons, for everybody out there listening, you need to do, make sure that you do proper diligence to
