On the last to one end lift it up and it's an extendable antenna that's armored inside the handle. The neat thing is they have one or some of them are variable frequency frequencies on board. Seven watt they're built like a brick doghouse you can drop these things. They used to call them they call them mine radios because they were used in quarries. They're six meter and with seven watts they put diesel batteries a number of different power packs because you've got so much room with the diesel battery. Usually they go for nothing because they were a dog years ago even I could get them for about down at the hamfest we were buying them for three dollars a piece. They're still hanging around guys have caches of them here so if you see them you want to mate them up and again read the information plate because it has all your frequency specs on the plate and again it does have a plug-in plate crystal so you can actually go buy other crystals and you know have additional frequencies on hand so you lift the lid, unplug the original crystal, put another frequency in and the radio worked in that area. So, what do you mean by the frequencies? What, 50? Yeah, it depends. Some of them are fixed and bleed over because remember when they first came out they had greater latitude and then they narrowed the bandwidth of industrial, military. That happened all the time back during the Vietnam War era. And originally it was supposed to be nothing but civilian slash officer law enforcement and fire department. What happened is the military, they let us develop it and then the military said, you know, there's a certain part of that bandwidth I think we need now. The technology in the industrial circles and then they captured a percentage for military application. I think CIA used it actually in third world country operations. That's why I stopped the stuff they spent money on it because they really weren't spending it on us. Know what I mean? It used to be... One? I was just talking about it behind the scenes. The fact of the matter was, it was like throwing a ferret into a chicken coop. You know what I mean? Because they were going and terrorizing the known manufacturers. There were some people that did government work telling them flat out that, don't you divulge any of the secrets, don't you divulge any of the secrets, don't you divulge? So it's like, really? Which is why, again, I pushed micro-epic years ago because it's like, really? Once somebody connects, and especially where you could use television and you engineer it, said about YouTube, when we started doing YouTube, there was ever a slight comment being made in the control press, who's thinking we can win a revolution with YouTube? It's like, no, but we can teach a whole hell of a lot of people in a short period of time. people do listen to audio, you know, the audio-visual combination, that sensory input, everybody's conditioned to it through the computer screen and they get the eye candy and the ear candy combined. Actually, they're even building receivers and such but they do both they will do grand parts and they are doing m14 parts but they're doing this because they know that you know like you just said the inventory as far as available parts where you can find them all are running out because everybody's bought everything up or not everything but it's out it's you know a lot of it's been bought up now sarco has I'm not exaggerating they have K stuff out where they find it again, well what is they rub-pitched around in their warehouses or they went down into the tunnels and pulled out another wine barrel, you know what I mean? Yeah. It's like the money prices gone up on these now. Look what we discovered! Or they just figured they got to sell something and they're running out of things. But each circle, if you talk to them, they'll tell you what the grade is that they have, the only answer. They've always been very good and in fact they'll go out to the warehouse. You'll be talking to a guy and they'll say, let me put you in touch with Hal or Fred or Sam and whoever, and they'll tell you to get him on a wireless phone and you'll hear him rummaging around through the parts. Traditionally how they work. So the EE-Sarco Inc. has been around for a long time. Gun Parts Corp. pretty much the same way. In fact, if you go to Gun Parts Corp., you always want to check their new items section. If you go there, they have what are new arrivals. They have close outs. Always check the close outs. You know, I've always said that. They've got, these are M14 M1A Springfield bolts. They're not for the, they're not for the Grand, but they just got a bunch of those in. New blue includes roller and clip, mill spec, They've got both assembly forged mil-spec new, blued, they've got another model for $254. Now that's for the M14, that's not for your rifle obviously. The other thing that they just got in, as long as I'm on this subject guys, They've got barrel blanks for between $19.95 and $25 for 24 inch project barrel blanks. You can't beat this price. They're 24 inch, they're rifled, any unfinished or finished chamber configuration. They've got two barrels that are in 17 HMR, 24 inch. Those are $22.50 a piece. They've got 223 barrels. One of them is chambered, the other is not. The unchambered is $19.95. That makes for a really nice project barrel, guys. Chamber it to whatever you want. The other one is chambered in 223. Now the third one is another caliber I like for project work. They've got 24 inch, 30-30 chambered barrels, $24.50 in the white. They're either rounded or they They also have them with a flat bottom barrel. Now, flat bottom means you can do a lot of unique project work if you want to make a kind of like a, shall we say, a bench gun, or if you want to do certain things with the weapon. And 30-30, your friend goes, Mark, why would you want 30-30? Guys, 30-30 is one of the most common calibers out there. Millions of deer have died at its hands. Just as well as would kill two-legged people die faster than four-legged deer. Deer are highly motivated. And 3030 is a fine caliber, especially for switching over certain weapons that may be orphaned guns that are in odd calibers that you can't get. Just something to think about. You got a receiver laying around you want to play with. These barrels, these three barrels, the 17 I'm not excited about, but somebody might be. The 223 though, and the 3030, those are two very easy to find calibers. There's lots of the stuff laying around. You're talking anywhere from $20 to $25. for a project barrel to experiment with and that's at gunpartscorp.com right now and they've got them, they just got them in stock. I shouldn't open my mouth because I wanted to get one. We've got a guy that needs a .223 barrel right now for a project tack driver but whoever gets there first I want our people to get them and they're only, again, $20 to $22 to $25 a piece, can't beat them. So 30-30 barrels are $24.50 a piece. Anyway, on verand parts, look The other thing, and I do, oh wait a minute, maybe I do, hold on. I might have another address for you here. Let me look. You know, it's an odd company, and I don't know what they have right now. Now this sounds weird, the name is unique, because they're obviously connected to the Middle East. What a country dot com, what a country, okay, what a country, it's really what they are, they're, you know. operation that has good connections to the Israeli inventory. You may have parts kits, you always want to check them. They got a lot of grands over there and they sold them all back and forth so many times you just never know what they're going to run into. Is your receiver a Springfield? You're trying to match up all the parts? Yes sir, I ran into this thing and I start messing with it and the more I mess with the more I love it. 150 yards, I mean she's an attack driver and I run the serial number on it. It was 1942 and I thought, I mean that thing might blow up my face, but you know, it's just as solid as a rocket Gibraltar. The more I deal with it, the more I like it and I'm going to redo it completely and I think I'm going to need it. You could phosphate finish, if you have somebody who does phosphate park rising, you know, to finish, phosphate finish. Usually, guys that do automotive parts, we got an automotive company. We had used to have one here that did all our work. Unfortunately, that company went out of business when the father, well, the son, it's actually again four generations, he finally passed away. But if you look, you'll find him. First of all, the grand is just exactly that. It's a battlefield supremacy weapon, number one. Parts are still readily available. And in fact, you know what, pisses me off. You're asking a good question. I've got a contact number and the guy has a bunch of grade 1, grade 2 and grade 3 parts. The grade 1 parts are excellent slash museum grade. Everything is virtually pristine. Grade 2 is where it will be considered to be range grade for match. Both of those 1 and 2 are that. Grade 3 is shooter grade for standard, you know, garands. But they have a wide range of parts but I don't have it right here at my fingertips. One thing about that receiver, it won't blow up on you. Do you know that? Yes sir. Okay, the Garand was obviously triple heated to begin with. Triple heat treated like anything made during World War II. Actually we started doing that before World War II. But the Garand has never had, and I'm going through the Armory books, they have one thing that the Ordnance Department commented on. They've never had a Garand receiver failure. They've had Garand receivers lock up. In other words, the way they were designed, so if there is a gas failure, they were designed basically to lock up. That doesn't mean that they might not stroke the action if there's enough power. But that is one of the safest rifles for a gas-operated system. It was one of the safest weapons of its era and is probably still safer than most today. Yes, sir. The only thing bad about it is a half pound or ten pound loaded, but... You shouldn't go slow. That's all. Just remember, just take your time. Mosey up. You can sit back and 300 yards farther and shoot through it. That's all you can do is go slow. Yeah.
