Over 50,000 preppers have chosen to stretch their fuel storage by harnessing the power of the sun with sun ovens. Food can be baked, boiled, or steamed year-round at temperatures of 360 to 400 degrees. Sun ovens are the most energy efficient way to cook freeze-dried food storage and can be used as solar dehydrators or water purifiers. Thousands of preppers regularly use sun ovens and have found they quickly pay for themselves by reducing utility bills. Sun-cooked foods stay moisture and never burn. Sun-baked roasts are succulent and sun-baked bread has unparalleled taste and texture. A figure walked him through the mist with a flintlock in his hand. His clothes were torn and dirty as he stood there by my bed. He took off his three-cornered hat, and speaking low to me, he said, We've fought a revolution to secure our liberty. We wrote the Constitution as a shield from tyranny. For future generations, this legacy we gave. In this, the land of the free and home of the brave. The freedoms we secured for you we hoped you'd always keep. But tyrants labored endlessly while your parents were asleep. Your freedom's gone, your courage lost, you're no more than a slave. In this the land of the free and home of the brave. You buy permits to travel and permits to own a gun. Permits to start a business or to build a place for one. On land that you believe you own, you pay a yearly rent. Although you have no voice in saying how the money is spent, your children must attend a school that doesn't educate, and your Christian values can't be taught according to the state. You read about the current news in a regulated press, and you pay a tax you do not owe to please the IRS. Your money is no longer made of silver nor of gold. You trade your wealth for paper so your life can be controlled. You pay for crimes that make our nation turn from God and shame. You've taken Satan's number. You've traded in your name. You've given government control to those who do you harm so they could burn down churches and seize the family farm. And keep our country deep in debt. Put men of God in jail. Harash your fellow countrymen while corrupted courts prevail. Your public servants don't uphold the solemn oaths they've sworn. and your daughters visit doctors so their children will be born. Your leaders send artillery and guns to foreign shores and send your sons to slaughter fighting other people's wars. Can you regain the freedoms for which we fought and died? Or don't you have the courage or the faith to stand with pride? And are there no more values for which you will fight to save? Or do you wish your children to live in fear and be a slave? Oh, sons of the Republic, arise, take a stand, defend the Constitution, the Supreme Law of the land, preserve our great Republic and each God given right, and pray to God to keep the torch of freedom burning bright. As I awoke, he'd vanished in the mist for whence he came. His words were true, we are not free, but we have ourselves to blame. For even now as tyrants trample each God given right, we only watch him tremble, too afraid to stand and fight. If he stood by your bedside to dream while you were asleep, and wondered what remains of the freedoms he'd fought to keep, what would be your answer if he called out from the grave? Is this still the land of the free? And good evening, ladies and gentlemen. This is the evening intelligence report. I'm R. Korky. And butter knife. one day closer to victory for all of our brothers and sisters both on and behind the lines in occupied territories west, southwest, east, and north. Well, ladies and gentlemen, you're listening to us on... LibertyTreeRadio.4mg.com. We're on AM and FM Microstations, CB Base Stations, and alternate technologies east and west of the Mississippi along with Alaska. We're on the Hallmark Network from the top of Maine to the bottom of Florida. From the bottom of Florida, across the arc of the Gulf of Mexico, headed to Louisiana, Mississippi, Texas, Oklahoma, big chunk of Nebraska, whole bunch of Wyoming to include both the 3rd, 5th pit and our friends in the recall state of Colorado. Waving to the left coast, we turn back to the east sweep across the plains, leap over the burgeoning banks of the Mississippi and land of the Smokies. The restaurant crew's grandma team's OK team's a mob build grandma consortium bringing us the golden spike. It is a been a perfect day today. Little clouds on and off but not very many. Good temperatures, great opportunity to work outside and get stuff done. BK what's it like in your neck of the woods and what is the date today sir. It is 18 April 2014. It is Friday evening. It is the last hour of the day and the week for the intelligence report. That makes this quartermaster's corner. It's been a kind of strange week here, meteorologically speaking. We had one day here, it was 83 degrees out. The next day it was 43. So when it's warm I'm thinking, oh man, I should have gotten all the vegetables and plants and stuff out there. I have a lot of work to do before they have a proper place for them to go. When it's down to 43 I say, OK, I'm glad they're still sitting in the living room, kind of leaning towards the windows. So I imagine there's another week or two of elbow room there before I really, really have to get things going. Where do we start? There's so much stuff going on this week. Well, it is 18 April. That means tomorrow is 19 April. 19 April is a rather popular anniversary day for our crowd and one that the Stinkers have used in the past as well. That's when they attacked the Murrow Building in Oklahoma City. They have fallen back for the moment from the attack on the ranch in Nevada. But there's no telling when they'll pop back again. We assume that they're going to turn around and attack again, you know, go away, appear to be a faint, and then just turn quickly and pounce, this time probably more viciously even than the last time. I would suggest that the rancher needs to be on guard, especially for the next day or two. One of our friends reminded us correctly a few minutes ago that everybody else should probably be at a somewhat heightened state of alert as well. We cannot predict the bad guys' behaviors. One of the weaknesses of our position is that we basically let them have the first shot, but it doesn't hurt to be ready to receive hostels. We have spoken of this at length in previous hours and I'm not going to go into that. But pay attention to your environment. and do what you can. You can't do much in the next hour to harden up your household. There are a few expedient things you could do, which we have discussed in the last couple of weeks, so you know, play back the archives if you like. But it would be a very, very good idea for people to be on their toes and awake. If the family 12 gauge is all disassembled and halfway cleaned or something, finish that up and put it back together again. You know, that sort of thing. The supply system is kind of weird right now. I made the rounds of the usual vendors and I find the good news is that there are primers out there. Grass has a few primers, Midway has a few primers, Powder Valley has a few primers, Natchez has a few primers. Nobody has a product line across the range, nobody has every size that I have seen, but lots of these vendors each have something. You're not going to like the prices, we've talked about those in the past, CCI seems to be really turning the screws on the prices. Other brands not as badly, but Potter Valley is always the first place you should look. When they have stuff in stock, they'll sell for $25 when somebody else wants $33, for exactly the same thing. But even they can't stay in stock of things. There is almost no medium speed rifle powder that I can find. Everything that I found so far doesn't mean that there are many out there, but everything I found during my regular rounds is slow powder. suitable for the heavy magnums, not suitable for the intermediate and medium range cartridges. But the only thing I found is some LT32 on Powder Valley in one pound packages at $25 a pound. So it's not the most attractive option, but it is an option. As usual, the supplies are just really thin and we all have theories about why, but it's not clear why. My personal theory is that an awful lot of this stuff is being diverted and disappeared someplace. So that's the current situation on reloading supplies as one of the material that we routinely check. Do you have comments or new information that I don't on that? Actually, what I see right now, just as you pointed out from the beginning, the system is the skew across the board. I don't have any, well, actually we do have a bunch of feedback, but the problem is most of it validates what we've been saying about shortages that are intentional or again, companies just going out of business or at the end of their tether with regard to being able to access supplies. I would go so far as even to point something out here, go to deal extreme. Now China's sport supposedly is, you know, chugging along at normal pace, but take a look at how much stuff is out of stock and staying out of stock. There are certain things that would be kind of like bread and butter or guaranteed sales that just have disappeared. They're still listed. I mean, there's more pages of out of stock guys than there are stuff that's in stock. by about a 3 to 1 or 2 to 1 perspective typically in every category. The same is true with munitions, food, I mean, have you really seen any great, great, great buys on anything recently? When you think about it, I mean we found some sales here and there, but one of the things about the logistics train is it's starting to do a major hiccup that we've warned everybody about. So now it's catch-as-catch can and grab what's the best price of what you can find. ammunition is like this, food is like this, staples in all dry-good categories are especially like this. Some items there's only one of to begin with on the shelf guys and if the system hiccups the rest of the way that one item is going to break down real quick. Whoever gets there first gets some. It's going to be like the Russian toilet paper lines. Whoever's up front got toilet paper. Whoever's beyond that, well, you didn't get toilet paper. It's that simple. You're right there at the line, you're at the door. BK in the... They shut the door. What do you mean they shut the door? It means they're out of toilet paper. Let's go get in toothbrush line real quick. There's two people in toothbrush line. Maybe we can trade toothbrush for toilet paper later. That's exactly what I had to think. Yeah, one of our friends pasted a vendor, Sellway Armory, S-E-L-W-A-Y, armory.com. I ran across that one while I was searching. I saw a few listings for the set and the other thing. I'm not familiar with a vendor. But that's a possibility. Our friend pasted LT32 there. That's also available at Powder Valley. They popped up a few times when I was doing some searches. That's Cellway, Arm-A-R-E-T. They have a 9mm and 45mm. They have good prices and apparently inadequate supply. They claim that everything on the site is in stock. So, that's worth checking out. There have been a few interesting things I mentioned the other day on air in a different hour, of course. The local Aldi chain ran a special recently on some of these solar lights and the ones in my area have just been completely vacuumed clean. They may restock or they may have some in your area wherever you may be. Aldi tends to cover about the eastern two-thirds of the country, so an awful lot of people are within range of an Aldi. They were offering these solar lights at $1.79 a piece, marked down from $1.99 a piece. Well, even at $2 a piece is not a bad option, and it is a useful sustainment item. Even if you're just putting them out in the daytime and bringing them indoors to be able to see your way around under conditions of power outage. Another option that I have seen recently, there are a couple of things I was looking for and one thing I just stumbled across while I was poking about, a deal store, a spelled D-E-A-L dollar sign, is one of the dollar store chains. I have become responsible for the household here. One of the little things that ran out was the appliance lamp in the oven. It's kind of a pain using an oven when the light won't go on inside, even if it is a gas oven and doesn't need very much electricity to operate it. I think it will operate entirely in a power outage situation. I think it's a bi-metal controller in there. I haven't tested that. But the lamp went out and finding a lamp is a real job. I went to the home center and asked them, you don't know, you don't have to call a vendor and all this kind of good stuff. I was in the deal store and what do I see? A little blister pack of two of these 40 watt incandescent bulbs for $2. Well, you can't buy incandescents anymore. They backed off for a while from this grand and glorious plan of banning incandescents and then as soon as everybody wasn't paying attention they went forward and did it. So, you can't get 60's and 100's and all that kind of good stuff, but the deals store had the 40 waters. So, I bought a few because they really don't care if a niche market is unserved and you sure can't put a mercury cooling curly bulb into an oven. So, that was a surprise find at the deal store. While I was in there, I also found that they had some of these jar candles. These are very thin, but serviceable glass jars about an inch and a half in diameter, about eight inches tall, full of wax, you know, a candle in the middle. I have not burned one end to end to see how well they do when the wick shortens and gets down into the bottom of the thing. That's the biggest hazard I think with that design because it does need air to operate. But I've tried some of those during a power outage here and they seem to work okay. Those are available for a dollar apiece. That is the cheapest candle per pound you are going to see nowadays. The days of a pack of 8 or 10 plumber's candles for a dollar are gone. I haven't seen those in a couple of years at least. These things are $6 or $7 from the emergency supplier type vendors, but they have $1 ones at the deal store. Even if they work halfway and then you have to do something else, you can heat them up and pour the wax out and use them again in another way. So, one dollar units at the deal store was worthwhile. I got a couple of dozen of them, just sprinkle them all over the house. I figure there is walking around light. Not reading light, but walking around light, which will sit on the shelf and keep forever. It's easy to light when they're new. It would probably require a barbecue lighter. to get them going if they are half burned down and it's three or four inches into the wick. But that is an option and one that you don't see around very much. Comments? Oh, again, any of the candles, especially for the right price, guys, watch for stuff. The people getting rid of yard sales, the resale shops, and we're now getting towards the other end of the season. Everybody was thinking warm heat, cold, because of the cold weather. Some places will start doing the markdowns on that to a degree. Plus you've got the computerized seasonal things. I think we got Easter Bunny candles right now. Let's be prepared for after the Easter Bunny's gone. Easter Bunny candles are going to be cheap coming up too. So whatever pink, lavender, or whatever pastel colors they make them with whatever bunny pictures or whatever the image will be. So those, while they may have a different image on the outside, will do just as well on the inside. They are no different from the other product. and they don't out date. So that's something we need to be watching for too. Go ahead. Okay, let's see what other things are we up to? There are so many little things. Oh, there is a new legal concept. Have you heard the constructive possession one from the bat ferries? Oh, go ahead, please. Okay, apparently they have created a new legal concept. We are familiar with the concept of the prohibited person. Basically, anybody who crosses swords with the legal system becomes a prohibited person and is one of these people who is not allowed to own a firearm and so on and so forth. G. Gordon-Liddy, for instance, a very famous prohibited person. Mark is probably a prohibited person. There are lots of prohibited persons, people who are not allowed to own a firearm and so on and so forth by federal law. I'm not sure where the feds get off controlling this sort of stuff that's not involved with interstate commerce, but that is a battle fought and lost long ago. They have, however, now stretched that concept. They've said, well, if there is a prohibited person in your household, then your household must not have any firearms. So, if Uncle Fred is a little bit into the senile range and has been ruled by a judge to not be responsible enough to own a firearm, you are in deep, deep doo-doo if you own a firearm and Uncle Fred lives in the house. So, they call that constructive possession. If your arms and ammunition and so on are not locked up to their satisfaction and they don't specify what that constitutes, that's one of those completely slippery and arbitrary things, well, that constitutes constructive possession. Everybody in the household is guilty, they say. of violations of GCA 68 or whatnot because there is a prohibited person in the house. I would like to know how far that principle goes. For instance, suppose there is a person in the household who does not own a driver's license. Like maybe some of the people in your household happen to be five years old and they don't have driver's licenses. But you own an automobile. Does that mean that they have committed the crime of possession of an automobile or access to an automobile even though they are not licensed to drive? How far does this go? What are the rules? So, they're going to try to do this initially with firearms and so on, but where does it stop? Well, the idea, we've gone past the front yard, the front barrier on the fence line to the front yard, from the front yard to the front porch, from the front porch through the front door. We're at the point now where the only option is really to shoot their hind end. We know where it's going. If they have their way, they plug in the English and Australian nonsense, and that's really the agenda. The idea is, to completely disarm so that when some foreign nutcase wants to cut your head off in the middle of the street, everybody will be standing there aghast and watching while he does it. You know, we remember they just had that happen in England here not too long ago and what they've been told now is, you shut up, don't let the peasants know what's really happening in those countries because, well, we need that tourist money. Well, I can see violence in the streets with unarmed peasants by going to Chicago. I don't need to see disarmed unarmed peasants being mowed down, chopped up, or peed on by foreign nationals coming into the country. I can go to Chicago and watch that. You know what I mean? I don't need to go overseas. So you're allowed to gaze with horror on one of these incidents, but you're not allowed to lift a finger. Yeah, but heaven forbid you should actually decide to maybe save your life, you know. sold out to some take into consideration right there are number one the big thing is that when they come up with a way of interpretation work were so close to the edge of an open conflict the i'm fascinated by the responses from people who normally wouldn't hear from again but also this not just that we're getting in those are certainly response not reaction you're not getting the emotional you know that the differences normally have people like are really powerful you'll put I'm pissed about that or girls might go, oh yeah, I really hate what those people are doing. No, there is an intelligent, informed hatred now. And it is a flat hatred. That's the best way to describe it. Like I said, the waitress the other day was probably the best example. Completely up to speed on every step that was going on with the Bundy's. Understood full well what was happening with regard to the threat and what the implications were. And the attitude is, America just needs to shoot these characters and get done with this. Now, if I'm hearing that from a person who, and I'm not saying the person who's a waitress is stupid at all, but typically, again, they're not disassociated, but they've got other things to worry about, especially with the job that they're on, but they also do hear a lot. So remember that one of the reasons that that waitress or that person who's in a public area knows so much is because it's not just what they're able to pick up, it's what other people are pointing them to. See, this is the problem the bad guys have is too many people have finally said, ah, I've had it. We're finished. This is done. In fact, you know, I think that you can pour out all the threats about the IRS coming out to kill us over and murder ladies, because that's the only option they have. The only option they have with regard to Obamacare is to threaten to kill us. You know, if we are in their government, say, you know, help us program, they'll kill us. But it isn't a government help us program because they plan on killing us anyway. And no matter what we do, the only threat the communist has left is to kill us. Well, how about we kill him back a lot harder and get rid of him all? And you know what? Anybody who's willing to, well it's like, they're willing to pick up a weapon and threaten us because the panty ways to tip if you're doing this, their idea is they are conditioned by movies. Their perception is that they're going to have somebody like me hired because they're above this and that that person you know that they've hired like me is supposed to go out there and just you know be a knuckle dragger. I'm totally stupid. I'm going to have a clue what I'm doing is but I'm doing it for the money because they want the movie about that. Now there are people who are stupid enough and roided up and there are power freaks and we talk about them on this programming but they're not the majority. And once they start dying, they are going to get thinned out real quick. Mr. 30-06, Mr. 338 Winchester, Mr. 45-70, Mr. 8mm Mauser is going to speak for a lot of Americans. I don't have a lot of faith in relying on old keepers and all of these people that claim that, oh, well, we're still inside the system and we'll control it and blah, blah, blah. I don't particularly buy that. I think the majority of people currently in the system, when push comes to shove, will decide that their first loyalty is to the paycheck. I had a conversation recently with one of my customers who is a retired city cop in this area. I didn't ask him date questions but judging from his general appearance I'm thinking he's probably been retired for 15 or 20 years. I mentioned that cops don't get a lot of love on the street nowadays and he just shakes his head and he says, I'm just disgusted by the standards that are out there. Even when I retired, he was sent to some of the training sessions for the new cops shortly before he retired. He explains that when he was a young guy they trained him, words can't hurt you. These guys want to blow off some steam, call you every dirty word in the book and so on. You just wait for them, let them run down and then you do what you got to do. take them in or what have you. Calling your names doesn't matter. None of this stuff matters. Back then when he was about to retire or being taught, you don't take no lip from nobody. They'd lip off to you, you stomp them flat. They were actually being taught this in the class. This was probably 15 or 20 years ago. Imagine how much worse that's gotten now. We've seen some of these little bits of video, the trainer explaining that the founding fathers were all terrorists and blah blah blah, all of that nonsense. There's an example from this area. This is a guy that ran his entire career and retired and all this sort of stuff and he's disgusted with them. There's an awful lot of dissatisfaction from all corners. The important thing is to push, to push constantly and to continue to drop numbers and information anywhere, guys. It's going through the system so fast it will come back to you. We were kind of getting into this in the two-hour block, hours ago, a couple hours ago and then the last hour. When we're talking about the subjects that we're on right now, guys, everybody is being touched by this. People are either watching the cops and they're not doing this by accident because the one cool thing is we do have all these cameras now. You can go to YouTube and punch in 100 or 1000 or 2000 videos and you will hear stop resisting, you'll hear all the robotics. And it's all points to the compass which again point out to everybody, well how would they do that? It's because they've all had the same class. Now we get into the whole idea here too that the bad guys they don't feel they do have enough secret police They don't think they do have enough reliable knuckle draggers So the foreign characters we warned you about and we've already known have been in country are now coming out in the open I think the most interesting piece here in the last you know the last 24 hours is just as a few hours ago, the guys that finally got back, they're putting all their stuff on YouTube that they did over while they're out there for the initial part of the standoff. And as they pointed out, they believed that they were Israelis. I told you, again, none of this stuff was out there. It's just I'm looking at body language, mannerism, facial structure. What they're saying is that a big chunk of the people they were looking at couldn't respond to them in English. For instance, they had a Middle Eastern look to them like they said, well, they're either Israelis or Middle Eastern. Well, I doubt they're Egyptians and I doubt that they're Saudi Arabians. But yeah, let me use some live video or some recordings and whatnot. Let native speakers of various languages identify some of these guys by... That's why, again, as we pointed out, time and time again now, we have to upgrade. And now we need to upgrade. So this is where shotgun mics need to be and all the other technology. Guys, the characters are screaming at each other. Even when they're talking on the radio, people have a tendency to do that. They have a tendency to actually shout. I mean, they don't really need the radios. To be quite honest, if you pay attention. So as long as we get a voice, a decent shotgun mic or even a fabricated homemade one will collect pretty much everything you need. And that is part, in fact I would point something out, the guy's talking in the one video and says, that's an OP. Well guys, you'll remember something. You'll notice I call them LPOPs. Called the Listening Post Observation Post. That's what you should be doing. And in fact, the other side is working the same way. They're not just watching what you're doing. They're listening to what you're doing. Okay, they're listening to what you're saying. It's an LPOP, listening post, observation post, not an OP. Especially in proximity, close proximity and within line of sight, the way the two that were pointed out in the one video, you know, they said, well, across the bridge, the one was there and the other one was there. Well, they're in a position where they can observe and record with video, but they can also shotgun mic and pick up everything and anything possible in the way of discussions, conversations. They want to know what's going on. and they'll plant other technology that can even stand off to do just that also which is why we need to be prepared for that. The shotgun mic once it's in doesn't really have to be run by a human if it's an encampment and you know everything's going to be pretty well fixed. you can target an area and walk away and listen in from several different collection points. And you can talk about accordingly. An engagement environment like the Bundy Ranch is a weird one. We tend to think in terms of a traditional battlefield with lines or group skirmishing or whatnot. But in an environment like that where the bad guys are milling around and the good guys are milling around and There are clusters and whatnot. You can do some strange things that you couldn't do in World War II. You can send out little groups of people in their polo shirts and their tennis and their shorts and stuff with a cell phone and wander up to these guys and say, gee, guys, what are you doing? Golly, what are you doing here? And running the cell phone recorder and whatnot. And what are they going to do? Can they open up? Well, probably not. It takes some cajones to approach somebody that you know is an enemy. All your instincts say run, prepare to engage, that kind of stuff. But in a weird environment like that, one of the things people can do is wander around and say, oh, look at her. Are you a sniper? And this guy's prone in the ground to the ghillie suit. People standing around looking at him and saying, gee, what are you up to? So there's some weird stuff that you can do in an environment like that and get recordings and all that sort of stuff that would drive them absolutely nuts and gather intelligence for our side. Again, the idea is that technology has to be in place. We need to start thinking that way. Deploying the equipment also is very critical, and it's why we need to have a large quantity of it in stock. We need to actually be building. A lot of the basic tools can be improvised from components. So take the time and go through YouTube, Peru's YouTube. I recommend that because a lot of neat solutions have been brought up already, especially with regard to shotgun mics, alternate listening technologies, and a whole bunch of other stuff that you make from junk off the shelf. Junk off the shelf is a good thing because that means you can make multiples. And when you make multiples, you can afford to leave something behind and you don't even need to worry about recovering it. If it works, it works. While it works, use it. If you have to abandon in place, abandon in place. The advantage is you can crank out dozens of or hundreds of. Shotgun mics are very easy to make actually and with all the connectors for doing everything from MP3, conventional brick and set, any other kinds of recording technology you may have, all of that's off the shelf. Everything available from the industrial, you know, electronic supply companies or you cannibalize stuff. Well, people used to make directional mics with a salad bowl and a phonograph record pickup. Now those are no longer lying about cheaply. Once upon a time a phonograph pickup was a common item just lying about and you could get them for pennies. But we have lots and lots of devices with recording capability and microphones and so on. You can take your cellphone or your MP3 recorder, a little bit of duct tape, stick it in the center of a solid bowl and you've got something that's highly directional. So you don't have to be fancy and you can use off the shelf and the off the shelf that we have now is much more sophisticated than the off the shelf that was available 30 years ago too. So, be a little bit inventive, but the solid bull is your friend, or the walker, or whatever you want. If you think around a little bit and just hang something at the focus, you'd be surprised how directional you can get even audio recording equipment to be. Dollar Store, Dollar Store, Dollar Store. Where all the technology you need for your basic engineering is there, you just need to pick and choose and select off the junk that's already been made available. And then the higher tech that's attached to it purely a matter of what's available in mass or what it is you're familiar with working with and then build accordingly. Well, yeah, you know, you can put your cell phone into recording mode, stick it in the middle of a salad bowl, duct tape that to a broom handle, stick it up in the air, and surprise, you've got something that would be hard to purchase back in the 1950s, Zach. Exactly. Before we go any farther, do we have a caller? I want to make sure. I've heard two dings already, just to be safe. Yeah, I think people are just popping in. We're just listening. Okay, very good. I'll tell you what, and what else we got to be getting. We have lots of other stuff. Some of them are a little bit off the wall. Some of them are more long-term that are not necessarily relevant to the next 24 or 48 hours. I got into some mischief earlier this week. I did something I probably shouldn't have. I got on one of these auction sites. You're aware of this stuff, and I bought some stuff. A couple of cases of this and a couple of cases of that just for stocking my workbench. I got some things like cases in this case are 12 cans each of aerosol. A case in this context is a dozen aerosol cans. I got a couple of cases of silicone lubricant for about $20 for the pair. I got a couple of cases of Dilupe, which is a very high pressure lubricant for I think $2 for two cases of the stuff. That wasn't that much loved by the participants in the auction, so those went extremely cheaply. There's an enormous amount of useful stuff available. Sometimes at these auctions things go for stupid prices. People pay two thirds to three quarters of the new retail price for stuff. Generators for instance frequently they're buying a China Sport generator for 75% of the price. You can buy it every day at a home center and get a warranty. So that's a little bit on the stupid side. But every once in a while you really luck out. The place to look for these is a site called Auction Zip. That is auctionzip.com. You can enter your zip code and find out what's going on. Some of these will be internet auctions. The ones I like better are the ones that are in person auctions because there's only so many people there. Whereas the internet auctions, people just from anywhere can log in and so on. You're more likely to see stupid prices on things. It's also a good idea to be able to look around and see what's what because you know photographs and descriptions often mean very little. I slipped up and got a little carried away. I put in a fairly low bid on literally an entire pallet of a particular material and I got it. Oops! So I've spent the last few hours emptying out the truck because even a big 4x4 is going to be hard pressed to take possession of an entire pallet of some of this industrial material. But every once in a while you really strike gold in these things and it's worth perusing and it's worth controlling yourself. And spend a lot of money. I am going to have some storage problems. I'm not sure whether I'll be able to use some of the things that I bought. But if I use half of it and half of it never is of any benefit still compared to retail price, I'm made out like a band at this time. Some of these auctions, almost all of these auctions when a business is shutting down has, among other things, microwave ovens. Almost every single auction carries microwave ovens because people have them in the break room and that's one of the miscellaneous items that gets purged out. This one had a few and they went for the stupid price of $20 apiece. Sometimes I have missed those and they went for a dollar apiece. New microwave ovens have slightly different circuitry, but the traditional older ones have in there a very heavy transformer because the way a microwave oven works is it's got two main components. It's got the resonator cavity, which generates microwave energy, and it has a 2,000 volt power supply to drive it. And that's pretty much all there is, and the key to it is the manufacturer of the resonator cavity. Well, that 2000 volts is generally in the older ovens generated by a simple linear power supply, which is a transformer. It's a fairly beefy thing, usually around 5 pounds or so, wound for 120 volts primary and 2000 volts or so on the output. There are uses for a couple of thousand volts, but what's more, you can also disassemble a transformer like that and rewind it to your purposes. So if you wanted to turn that into something that's lower voltage, higher current, for instance, it's hard to buy a transformer that's got any material in it at all for less than stupidly high prices nowadays. So just Just for the transformer, a buck or two for a microwave is a bargain and that's worth grabbing just to disassemble that. You'll get switches and you'll get some other odds and ends and useful things. Maybe you'll want a 2000 volt supply. Some of the newer ones will probably use switching supplies and smaller round coils and whatnot. They're less interesting. But if you get some of the older ones, and get that transformer, it's worth it just for the transformer if nothing else. And then the fans and things like that are free bonus items. Cut them apart, you get some sheet metal, so on and so forth. You can spend all day getting useful bits and pieces out of something like a microwave oven, so don't overlook those. The same deal if you see one by the road that's ready to be tossed out in the trash. That is useful salvage material. Grab that, yank the transformer out. If nothing else, grab the transformer. While you're in there, you may as well get the little fans and you may as well get some of the switches and odds and ends and then put it out for the trash yourself if you so see fit. That is a worthwhile thing to do. other mischief I've been up to. Oh, I recently just put in an order in an outfit called Oikos Tree Crops. Now, this vendor has been mentioned on Joe from the Carolinas program, so I'll give him a little plug. Grow Your Own, the budding revolution is one of the newer programs on LTAR. It broadcasts on Tuesdays in between the afternoon and evening hours hosted by Joe from the Carolinas. and is held on the archives site, that is indianafreedomtalkradio.com, where all the other archives are also located. So if you're not familiar with that program, visit that site and grab previous programs in MP3. They are available for the usual price of $0.00 and 0 cents. The program talks about permaculture and other varieties of gardening. Well, they mention certain vendors and one of them is Oikos, O-I-K-O-S, Treat Crops dot com. What did old BK order? Well, I have a few areas that could really use some vegetation, so one of the things I ordered were some pink sun chokes. What are those? Those are related to the sunflower. But they are a plant that generates edible tubers, sort of little potato-like things under the ground. And they don't look like anything that people are accustomed to, so you're probably less likely to have neighbors raiding your sun choke patch. They don't require a lot of attention, and they spread all by themselves. So you don't want to plant them someplace where you don't want them spreading out. But in my case, for instance, I have a strip in between the house and the sidewalk that runs parallel. A lot of people have that sort of arrangement. So that's an area of dirt that's completely surrounded by concrete and asphalt and whatnot. Perfect. My Grand Master plan is to plant a bunch of these things and to see how well they will spread and provide some vegetation in front of the house and some edibles, whether They are recognized by the locals as such or not. I had to think a little while about what I wanted to put there because one of the things I thought about was maybe gooseberries. Why gooseberries? Well, they produce edibles too. But one of their benefits is that they have some nasty thorns. The floor to ceiling windows and whatnot are a very easy entry point into a house. I thought, well, I don't know, maybe a whole strip of extremely thorny vegetation might be useful. I finally opted for the sun chokes in that area, but that is an option. Other options that people might want to consider, and there's some years of lead time involved, are things really rooting in and growing. One of the classics in the Midwest is called the Osage Orange. It produces these things that look like oranges that are completely inedible. They're actually probably a nuisance. They probably drop all over the place and have to be swept up. But the other crop is some thorns that you would not believe and it's extremely tough vegetation. So somebody coming in with a hand saw is not going to be able to go boop, boop, boop, boop, boop, and lop down that tree. It's going to take them quite a while. Another possibility is the honey locust. Another one of those trees produces a slightly edible stuff. It's considered animal forage. It might end up loosening your standards a little bit. I don't know for a fact whether those pods are edible by humans or not. Take a look at Google for honey locust. There's a Wikipedia article on it and so on. Take a look at some of the thorns that those things grow. Maybe there are areas of your land that You would like to have as a barrier or a channeling facility or whatnot with some secondary capabilities. Produce shade, produce something that critters might eat, maybe people might eat in a pinch at the same time. purposes at the same time. Now I was a little bit annoyed. Oikos will not sell things out of season and there are some things that I could get. I wanted to get some ground nuts and try them. So, you know, out of luck until fall. They won't, you know, sell those now. I should have ordered a several weeks ago and they might have had some. But we'll settle for the Sun Chokes and we'll try them and we'll Actually, try some choke berries in another area. That's something that's highly edible and very useful from vitamins point of view. Not terribly tasty, I gather, unless you throw them in a blender with some sugar and things like that. It's supposed to be very, very good for you. And a useful screen. So wander through the site and take a look and see what sort of things are available. There's a lot of options. If we have the time, nobody ever knows, but the only time available to do things is now. Future never comes and the past is gone, so now is the only option. There may be things that would be worthwhile to plant in that old disused garden area or this section of elderly ornamental bushes or whatever the case may be that might be more practical, more useful to you a year or two down the road. So, Oikos, O-I-K-O-S, treecrops.com is a vendor of this sort of stuff. And if you see something in there that you like, go ahead and Google for that variety. Maybe you'll find some other vendor that you prefer. But lots of interesting stuff there. And I look forward to seeing how these species do in my environment. The gooseberry, of course, has a very fine needle for people who are not familiar with it, and so it gets through things that normally would protect you. The other thing is, domestic, do not have the berry. The fruit does not have thorns. Wild, if you get the wild breed, even the berry itself is thorned. In fact, it looks almost like a virus, an electron microscope image of a virus where you have the spikes coming out in all directions. Now, when you pick the wild gooseberries, as long as they're not dry, the spines though, you can put them in your mouth, you can chew them and actually crush the pulp, etc. You get rid of the pulp and you enjoy the flavorful, again, calories that you're taking in. But the cool thing is, as a combination item, slowing people down and getting something edible out of it is the key. One more thing here real quick. BK guys, everybody might want to take advantage of this. Sportsman's Guide, you know, they have a clearance section. Well, a bunch of the military stuff they picked up is in the clearance section, and one of them, they've got five new Italian military surplus combat hats. These are a patrol cap in woodland camo. Now if you're using the DPM Dutch or if you're using US woodland, this pattern is the Italian woodland and it kind of blends over to both guys. It's a woodland camo hat so it will fit you guys. Work with you guys are using the woodland camouflage systems but if you're using another pattern, actually it kind of overlaps into both. They are, it's five hats for nine dollars. You can't beat it. They're brand new hats. Okay, and they're not China sport although they're probably Italian sport Which means it's the little Italian mama mama in the back 40, you know stitching in the clay hut Okay, that kind of thing still, you know chewing on the eggplant and working on some pasta at the same time But five new Italian surplus combat hats woodland camouflage The item number is WX 2-2 0 4 808. They have size medium, large, and extra large. So they have a good size range on these right now guys and this is a cheap price for these hats. You're looking at what, $1.50? Looking at less than $2 a hat for a patrol cap. And they're brand new. So this definitely is worthwhile. The description is five new Italian military surplus combat hats comma woodland They are item number W X 2 dash two zero four eight zero eight and that definitely is worthwhile. I've been pointing out the woodland camo stuff because there's a lot of it out there. You can put a nice woodland kit together without spending a whole lot of money guys and end up with a pretty decent product. Okay so this is definitely worth investing in. If you're looking for headgear, if you're doing a 5-10 program, there you go, five patrol caps, and if you want to go middle of the road, go large. On the other hand, if you're going to do five, I don't know if you can mix and match them if they have to be all one size or what. That's the only you probably have to call them about. because you do get to choose sizes. So you can get five medium, you can get five large, you can get five extra large. Personally, if you're looking at using these yourself, it's kind of nice to have spare hats, guys, because hats are one of the things that gets lost. And rather than just having one and then going, man, I wish I had another one of those, well, for less than $2 apiece, you could have five of them. and you really can't beat the price put the rest on the shelf for future use it surplus this isn't around forever I had a conversation with somebody on this today and in fact last night again too it surplus there aren't any more when they're done okay at least for the time being right speaking of wooden acts speaking of five-packs as of a couple hours ago according to their website at least Center fire still had the five-packs of the m9 masks I don't know if that's current but they had them I know I talked to him. What they said was, well we might have two bundles left, but that was two days ago. They didn't take him off the inventory. He really was kind of fumbling because the kid that I was talking to is somebody other than normally would be there, but he talked to somebody who was off to the side in the warehouse. He was talking to him all over the phone. and shouting at them and they came back with, there might be two bundles so they won't sell them individually but they have maybe two bundles of five left and I don't know if they've done gone through maybe because again we assume that they were finished there might still be some available I would call on Monday at least or again order five if it goes through it goes through if it doesn't go through $20 for five masks guys, look at the price of the rest of the hole that are out there. You figure it out. Five masks for $20? You can't beat it. And BK we know where to get the filters, right? The filters are available at GunPartsCorp.com. 45 filters are available in a case for $150 plus shipping. That is the dirt cheapest you will ever find any kind of filter nowadays. If you cannot get the M9 mask but you can get the filters, they do have the C3 masks at gun parts as well. It's more expensive, it's $14 for a full kit. But that's not a bad option either. filters. And that is a good price for that mask. Now again guys, check out Sportsman's Guide clearance. There are some helmet covers and some other things that are in multiples. They've got the Norwegian helmet cover with winter sidewall. It is a camouflage net. It goes around the side of the helmet and it has a front visor cap. Now guys, that makes for a great ghillie cover for any kind of helmet. They're five for five dollars five for five dollars go into the clearance section and check that out I don't have the number right there in front of me But for five dollars a dollar apiece this thing goes over the helmets got a helmet net What you do is you do your ghillie matting on that you stitch the rest of the side wall This can go over a bicycle helmet that you camouflage out with some spray paint whatever you want to do or your or your piss pot or a Kevlar helmet but what it does is is it helps you to have a fixture that you know stays on the rig. Kind of like when you see the old samurai helmets where they've got the hanging armor, all they did was flop it over the head, let everything drape. Well, you do that with your ghillie pattern the same way. This has a good, solid Swedish slash, well, forgive me, I think it's Norwegian. The Norwegian wrap around, heavy gauge cloth, it's got a bill front. That can be re-engineered if you want to. You can make it shorter, but that also can be dropped down and your matting goes over that. Remember to shade and to cover the face. So this is a really cool solution. A couple of cheap items. Again, the five new Italian military surplus combat hats. Item number WX2-204-808. Five hats for $9. No matter who you are, you don't have to be a member. You just want to move these things out. Again, camouflage is Woodland. They have mediums, larges and extra-largest. The Norwegian helmet cover with camouflage webnet, you'll find it when you go to the clearance section. They're five for five dollars. I think it's five for five dollars or five for five ninety-nine, whichever it is. Who cares? For another few pennies, yeah. you can't beat it for what it is and there again that's military surplus definitely can be applied to other projects and again be creative think it through and you know speak a word the top sir now we are past the top so let's wrap it all day for everybody out there listening though the weekend is going to be busy the body situation is not over tomorrow is April 19th you should all be on military standby single communications tomorrow night 10 o'clock on zero at nine nine p.m. eastern time setup for all frequencies All the different grids are going to be up and online.
