Summary
Mark Koernke discussed preparedness and tactical equipment during the second hour of the afternoon show on March 18, 2014. He reviewed affordable handheld radios (Baofeng UV-5R models at $33.69), ammunition availability (particularly .22 and 9mm), and SKS rifle options from various retailers. Koernke provided extensive guidance on NBC gear including gas masks, chemical protective suits, and filters, referencing the Ukraine conflict as a real-world example of why such equipment matters. He also discussed camouflage selection for winter terrain in Michigan, recommended specific retailers for military surplus gear, and announced upcoming construction work at Camp Emmerich requiring volunteer labor to assemble modular barracks buildings.

I had a dream the other night that, well I didn't understand. A figure walked in through the mist with a flintlock in his hand. His clothes were torn and dirty as he stood there by my bed. He took off his three-cornered hat and speaking low to me he said, we've fought a revolution to secure our liberty. We wrote the Constitution as a shield from tyranny. For future generations this legacy we gave. In this the land of the free and home of the brave. The freedoms we secured for you we hoped you'd always keep. But tyrants labored endlessly while your parents were asleep. Your freedom's gone, your courage lost, you're no more than a slave. In this the land of the free and home of the brave. You vied permits to travel and permits to own a gun. permits to start a business or to build a place for one. On land that you believe you own, you pay a yearly rent, although you have no voice in saying how the money's spent. Your children must attend a school that doesn't educate, and your Christian values can't be taught according to the state. You read about the current news in a regulated press, and you pay a tax you do not owe to please the IRS. Your money is no longer made of silver nor gold. You trade your wealth for paper so your life can be controlled. You pay for crimes that make our nation turn from God and shame. You've taken Satan's number and you've traded in your name. You've given government control to those who do you harm so they could burn down churches and seize the family farm. and keep our country deep in debt. Put men of God in jail. Harash your fellow countrymen while corrupted courts prevail. Your public servants don't uphold the solemn oaths they've sworn. And your daughters visit doctors so their children are people. Your leaders send artillery and guns to foreign shores and send your sons to slaughter fighting other people's wars. Can you regain the freedoms for which we fought and died? Or don't you have the courage or the faith to stand with pride? And are there no more values for what you'll fight to save? Or do you wish your children to live in fear and be a slave? Oh, sons of the Republic, arise. Take a stand. Defend the Constitution, the Supreme Law of the land. Preserve our great Republic and each God-given right. And pray to God to keep the torch of freedom burning bright. As Iooke vanished in the mist for whence he came. His words were true, we are not free, but we have ourselves to blame. For even now as tyrants trample each god-given rite, we only watch him tremble, too afraid to stand and fight. If he stood by your bedside in a dream while you were asleep and wondered what remains of the freedoms he'd fought to keep, what would be your answer if he called out from the grave, is to still the land of the free? This afternoon ladies and gentlemen, this is the second hour of the afternoon intelligence report. I'm Mark Horky. One day closer to victory for all of our brothers and sisters, both on and behind the lines in occupied territories west, southwest, east, and north. Well ladies and gentlemen, you are listening to us on LibertyTreeRadio.4MG.com. We're on AM and FM micro stations, CB base stations, and Ultra Net Technologies east and west of the Mississippi along with Alaska. We're on the Hallmark Network on the eastern seaboard from the top of Maine to the bottom of Florida. From the bottom of Florida across the arc to the Gulf of Mexico. Headed Louisiana, Mississippi, Texas. Oklahoma, big chunk of Nebraska, a whole bunch of Wyoming to include both the 3rd and 5th pit, and our friends in the recall state of Colorado. The great state of Jefferson out there on the left coast and the rest of our friends working hard to deal with the problems, the excrement, the detritus, the slime of Feinsteinism, along with the diaper stain of Brown and the California Soviet Socialist Democracy, the CSSD. Turning back to the east we sweep across the plains, leap over the burgeoning banks of the Mississippi and land in the smoky slash the Blue Ridge with the restaurant crews, grandma teams, okay teams, and the mob belt grandma consortium of retired telecommunications workers bring us the Golden Spots. many hands make for light work, a million petticoat junction operators, the ability to continue to function when everything else is offline. Well, it is a beautiful, it is a truly beautiful winter day out there. Yes, it is still winter. No, don't you go out there without a coat. And sure as hell don't go out there in shorts. Remember, yeah, the closer you get to the snow and the ground, so let's not make that mistake. Today's date, by the way, well, as you know, it's the 18th of March, it is the sixth year of open Fabian Socialist and Soviet Socialist occupation of a miracle with a K2014 Old Earth Calendar, or Mayan Crazy Town Calendar. Yeah, well, you know how that is. As a matter of fact, some of the stuff that the other side, all you can do is laugh. I mean, really, especially when we've got these political hack lanes. that we have in our government. It's like McLean going around. It's almost like a really rotten like C version of WC Fields. And that's giving WC Fields a bad name that we just kind of accept because sure as hell he was five steps above McLean. But watching some of the stuff that's been going on the last couple of days where everybody's like, you know, oh my goodness McLean said, well really who cares? And we need to emphasize that. Anybody listening overseas? Yeah, we know the fool's been sent over by the Shysters and manipulated him. He's one big massive meat puppet. We understand that, okay? Just act accordingly. Ignore him. How's that sound? Ignore him. And remember, shoot those who are trying to take over your government over there in the Ukraine that are the ring knocking banksters across the board. Hey, everybody arm up, everybody walk over, club them like a baby seal, and get rid of them. How's that sound? I think that worked out pretty well as a matter of fact. Let's see, one, two, three, four. Well, we've got about another four or five days here. Well, no, it's a little more than that. How long do I need to be? I think six or seven. We're counting down the days to spring, official spring. The snow is still out there, but I'm taking advantage of it because of the melt. Guys, I would highly recommend this. You've got stuff that may have been a little dirty for the season. Well, throw the snow on it, angle it towards the sun, and let nature work for you. Walk away. Don't start scrubbing on stuff yet. Let the water you got out there and the abrasive process and the cleansing process work for you. I do this all the time with a lot of stuff that has already been out for the season because we're not planning on it that way but still we're going to straight away straighten it up, maybe repaint it, do whatever we're going to do for the next part of the spring to summer events that are coming up here. But think ahead, start using the environment to your advantage. It's a pretty straightforward process. But it does mean you have to think a little bit. Prior to proper planning, as we say. Now, it is Communications Tuesday. And as a matter of fact, there's a couple of different radios out here through Amazon. And also, DealXtreme has these two of the... The Bao Feng radios. Yeah, it's B-A-O-F-E-N-G, capital F-E-N-G. Bao Feng. UA or UV, there's a UC series but it's the UV-5R radio 65 to 108 megahertz, they have them for $33.69 in Amazon but they also have The Baumkjang UVR5RA ham two-way radios 136 to 174 and 400 to 480 megahertz for about $36.69. Now, I would point out, and I haven't looked that closely to see if they give you the better price on multiples, but traditionally with these services they usually do. However, the big thing is, let's see, they've got REs here. OK, they've got the RE, they've got the RA, and they've got the standard R model. Now let's take a look here. The RE, the 5RE, and then there's also the 5A. So they do offer the, pretty much going up and down the band here, they do offer a wide range. Decent little radio, it's small, we'll take a handset. Considering size, it does give you a signal communications option for those of you who are looking for something in a light tactical that could take advantage of the repeater systems depending on how you program it, what you're going to do with it. Remember that point to point communications with most of these is going to be intermediate to short. Although again, you can get range and bounce enough to repeaters, etc. Or with a series of repeater stations that you establish locally, you don't have to use existing systems that are out there. You can build up your own little net for local transmission. uh... let's see at the bill from bf s one one two two-way radio speaker microphone system seven dollars and twenty cents apiece i just got a bunch of those for free they were tossing out over at the restore over at the uh... resale site same exact uh... uh... uh... microphones back to get nine of them now i think it only got three radios actually can take that particular handset but uh... out of many many many radio that have but uh... When you get them for free, you're basically for free. I think I paid a whopping $1 for 9 of them, guys. That's the equivalent to free. I mean, it was a donation, basically, is what it was. But pay attention. You'll see stuff that people toss out. A company of business stores, they buy things like this. They end up either in resale shops or in like donation sites with churches. Always ask, hey, do you guys get radio stuff in? Yeah, we get it, but nobody's interested in it. Or whatever. Well, really? I'll tell you what. Pile it all up and save it, and I'll take a look at it. What kind of deal we can make. Better than that, then they go in the dumpster and get thrown out. Remember, collect everything you can. Headsets, microphones, handsets, power supplies, you name it. Well, this is brand new. These are brand new objects, products by the way, and of course, regular price, $89.99. Present price, $33.69. And in fact, you can get them the next day, what is today, the 18th. They're saying that you could get it by the 19th if you order within 42 minutes. and they're clicking down the clock. So I guess then you have to wait and they'll give you reset the clock and it'll be like the, if you order tomorrow or the 19th, maybe you can get to the 20th. I don't know. We'll find out. But anyway, that's it. Amazon. And it's the BAOFENGUV-5R. There are a number of, there are many variants in terms of the prefix, the final prefix, but that determines frequency, capability, bandwidth, Again, you're looking at a pretty reasonable little radio rig. My only thing about the smaller radios is my fingers aren't getting any smaller, I mean as I'm getting older, but all these radios have these micro dot or micro buttons on them and that may sound cool. But remember, under pressure, people have a tendency well to make mistakes. Well, it's a cool solution and the prices are reasonable, $33.69. I don't see a quantity price I am looking and I don't see anything that tells me I get a better price if I buy more and more and more. But that doesn't mean that it isn't the case. So they also have Motorola Radio's number of different things available. All of these companies are box companies. for what's going on over in Asia as far as the different production runs that are made. If you'll notice with many of the companies, if you start going through like DealXtreme, there are more pages of out-of-stock items than there are pages of in-stock items now. And that to me shows you are rolling up of the tent. If things were running really well and they were having a lot of fun cranking stuff out and everybody's making money hand over fist, a wide range of diversified radios would be on hand. but while there are six, seven or eight pages of out of stock, which really I don't see the logic in that, but maybe to make you feel like, man, if you don't get the rest of these, they'll all be gone too, which might be true, to be quite honest. But a lot of the other stuff that they've let go to discontinue is simply it's not being put out on the production run. They're not retooling the system for them. There have been some really neat little handheld and wrist-mounted radios, little watch-type radios. Nope, not real fancy, but reasonably priced. Pretty robust, everybody that's bought them says the watch size radios, but they actually hold up pretty well. But for a casual system that you can carry that doesn't require a special hand hold, you've got it on your wrist, you can just push and talk. And VOX is an option with most of them. They do have voice talk, you know, inactivation. That would be a cool little solution if you can run into them. But these aren't that bad little radio. I've actually had guys compliment these. I understand a couple of guys are actually playing with them. In fact, right now, even as we speak, not too far to my west. So we're going to need an evaluation from them on these as soon as we can, too. They let us know what kind of service they're getting out of them. For the price of $33 is not an expensive experiment, not at all, and very reasonable with regard to you know the ability to be able to put another signal out there and not basically lose every penny you got on the wall to be able to diversify. You can afford to have multiples which is the other thing. Being able to actually generate you know because you have the radios covered under a smaller component of your budget, you have more money to spend on ammo as Dom said food, food, food and by the way more food we know how that works. The big thing is again if you're going to buy the radios confirm I did not check to see what the battery packs are for these things guys and we've talked about this before remember it ain't the razor it's the blades. If it does require a special plate slash disc battery or flat battery of some kind buy spares right away. Everybody heard what I don't want to hear anybody tell me oh Mark I didn't remember that. No buy if you have a unique battery for a radio Buy spare batteries right away. They can be the Chinese batteries, they're all rechargeable, but whatever it is you're going to buy, get at least a couple spare batteries if they're a unique slash an odd man out battery, especially if they're system specific. There's no guarantee how long those will be accessible and if they cut everything off from outside, not many people inside the US are going to be too excited about building them for you. In other words, you'll be wanting to look for alternate power solutions. And as I pointed out, some of these battery packs are not just a straightforward power out. They may have one or two or three power outputs simultaneously to provide energy of different voltage for different components. Different circuits, guys. This is how military radios were subdivided and there are many civilian radios that are built the same way. Now, the only difference is, while they can do it at the battery end, typically what they do is once you get the battery to the circuit board, then they subdivide and break down the power to the individual circuits that way. But there are advantages to having independent power supplies subdivided. 3, 2, 3, 4 and up to 7 different power outputs off a battery. Now, again, what that does is actually reduce the number of additional components, especially with flush-face technology and obviously with the microprocessors, which are a little more expensive in many ways. So if you can go to the battery output, from the battery output end and crank out specific power, you're eliminating whole components and whole circuit assemblies that would be incorporated into the design. So you get a plus one way and a negative the other. or vice versa. It depends on which way you want to go. And again, remember that the advantage is reducing the number of components in a circuit, therefore eliminating a lot of what could go wrong, especially when it comes to power regulation, which is what really all circuit boards are doing anyway, guys. Remember, you're modulating, you're actively agitating those components in different ways with a certain amount of power. fluctuating power, varying the power up and down, that's what those rheostats do, up and down the spectrum. So again, pay attention. If that radio requires specialized batteries, then buy them. If it's standard rechargeable batteries, AAAs, AAAs, whatever, fantastic. Buy more of those wherever we can find them. And again, I purely matter of personal choice there because right now it's catch a sketch can. Just because Just because it's, you know, again listed as a common battery doesn't mean that there are, you know, it's not gonna be all that readily available if everybody's looking for it. You already saw what happened with 22 ammunition guys, right? Oh, that's right Mark. Oh, I forgot. No, you didn't forget. You know exactly what I'm talking about. 22 ammunition. There's a cute little cart- not a cartoon, but a cute little poster with two little munchkins. One in the background is on a computer and the one next to her is on the computer and the one's turned. She's got a little headset and she's turning and she's shouting with all of her lungs. And it's DAD! I found some 22 ammo on the internet! I mean you can just picture how it would sound, but that's exactly how things are right now. I know. Again, there's been a lot of questions about that recently as far as 22 ammo. One section or place to go, UNAMMO.com, they do have some 22 ammo in stock, but it's been up and down as far as how much they have, what's available from one day to the next. Again, that's their business, not mine. But again, UNAMMO.com, UNAMMO.com, UNAMMO.com. Another thing. I don't know what's left but remember I mentioned this the other day and somebody asked me because in fact I was just watching an entire video somebody did with SKS. It was a very good job by the way guys. Thank you to the person who sent that. We appreciate it. The SKS is again keeping them pretty much with the 10 round magazine especially since they got munchkins. They're training younger children. The neat thing is there's nothing to lose. All you do is focus on loading that magazine and activating the weapon and, you know, again, sight alignment, squeeze, breathe, and you know, I should say breathe, squeeze, and boom. There you go. Anyway, on SKS's, real quick here before I forget, I should have mentioned last hour too, forgive me, CenterfireSystems.com, CenterfireSystems.com, CenterfireSystems.com. Now they're listing a Gunsmith special, which is the, you know, oh, well, Oh well, I just went to this earlier and they had some. In the time it took for us to do the last hours program, which by the way we start at 5 and that's when they close, they fold out of the SKS's. And they're not available for back order. So, well, okay let's try something else here. I'm going to have to, I've got to satisfy my own curiosity. www.royaltigerimports.com RoyalTigerImport.com, www.royaltigerimports.com. Centrifier systems is out of the SKS's and they probably will not have any more. In fact, again, with specials. But that happens, so I'm not really surprised there. The big thing is, again, the Royal Tiger Imports had the same rifles for about $200. They have been out, but they have restocked at different times. So let's see if we can find whether or not they have the broken stock S-Casses in stock again. Pardon the pun there. We'll see. Firearms. There we go. Mark will get it right eventually. And if they do, I highly recommend these guys because for the price of about even with the S-Casses, they're going for $300, which considering what it costs to build an S-Cass, it's not bad. Aha! They do have them. Gunsmiths? No, they don't have them. They're out of stock. Slap mark in the microphone yet again. Oh, I will have to commit ritual supergo. I'm sorry. Sepulchoo. Oh, tight. I'm gonna get it off. This is very bad. So anyway, apparently they're out of stock. Pardon the pun there. Broken stocks, out of stock, get it? Well, anyway. Okay, we're going to go one other place here. ClassicFirearms.com. I'm going to find an SKS for a reasonable price even if we have to trek across the whole country via the keyboard. www.classicfirearms.com. Let's see if they have any left. classicfirearms.com. They have a new page as a matter of fact. When you go there, I believe, well actually, let's see, it goes to the page where it's expected and classicfirearms.com is still good. Oh, and look at that. They have a picture of an SKS right up front there. Well, actually, we'll have to go back here. Let's see if we can buy now. Show me the beautiful SKS broken stock rifles. If they have them. and if they do then that would be a solution maybe classic firearms I know that a lot of weapons are clearing off the shelf and inventory is not coming back up the way anybody expected so that doesn't surprise me at all right now guys but there are again a few companies that uh... okay well are looking at some increase in the AR of my prices that shouldn't be a surprise I don't see, there we go okay now Well, they're no great buy there. Hand select, no I'm not interested in that. Well, guys, our friends in the chatroom, if you can run into them, I'm not going to deal with this, you know, playing more on the air. But they do have escasses in stock, the more you buy the cheaper they are. At about $300, $320, which is what I was expecting. But the Gunsmith specials are running a little under $200, so you're saving a big chunk of money for a broken stock model. If you spend about $180 to $190 and maybe $200 on that, figure that even if you have to replace a stock, it's still a hell of a lot better than $320. You're saving almost or a little under $100 by buying the broken stock rifle and putting a synthetic stock on it. Now personally, I would put a fixed Monte Carlo choke stock. They're the cheapest out there for the price. Not a folder, just put a standard straight stock only because cheapest and pretty much the same basic rifle but with a good cheek weld fixture on the side of the stock for all of you out there who are trying to use night vision or maybe scope slash optics with the system. Just take that into consideration. So, an idea. Again, I guess, well, center fire systems cleared out of the SKS's that they did have. That's not a surprise. Royal Tiger is also out of the gunsmith's specials by the looks of it. and although they do have a bunch of other decent items I highly recommend you perusing and going through RoyalTigerimports.com www.royaltigerimports.com their phone number is 407-203-4861 they do have a lot of other really cool items there including the Polish Barel rifles I'm not excited about the price neat little rifle got the money though hey run with that puppy I really am not going to slow you down The other thing with CenterfireSystems.com, not a whole lot of ammunition left. I had somebody asking me that the other day, what about Centerfire? Well, it's catch as catch can. As they've been replacing inventory, they have, but a lot of the stuff is not, you know, again, not being restocked. They're not taking back orders. If they get it, they get it. If not, oh well, don't worry about it. Now, really nothing has changed here, guys. It's just that the control press has learned not to talk about. So, as stuff has become available, just keep perusing the shelves. Maybe they'll replace as they go. If they do, for instance, they don't have any of the 45 ACP, but they do have some 9mm steel case Russian. And whether or not that is box or primed, remember, save all cases no matter what they are. But remember that a big chunk of the Russian stuff coming in is box or primed. Now, the 9mm says that it's Berdan. So that is Berdan Prime 9mm steel case copper jacket FMJ. Good enough for what it's for, like car beans especially guys. That's a good biting round. Notice I said biting. It's going to cycle well. It will work in any weapon that's out there. Ball ammunition, you don't have to worry about complications with will this round feed in the weapon. If it's a ball round, it's designed to feed pretty much in everything. Especially for new shooters, you're going to give a guy a rifle. Maybe he's never used it before. Maybe you're going to give a pistol. Maybe he's never used it before. We don't want to get them caught flat footed in. Again, unable to continue to support you and be part of the team. If they have a malfunction, if you're using two specialized around or ammunition and it doesn't integrate from one gun to the next, this can become a real problem. Again, I'd rather hear at least some pop-pop boom-boom even if the guy can't necessarily hit anything very well and has little or no experience, at least he's contributing the battlefield by increasing the background noise. How do you like that? I'm not alone. There's a bunch of other guys that are rattle battling out there and they're doing what they saw in the movies, wasting ammunition. Oh, well I'm sorry, did I say that? Yeah, I did. Anyway. A couple of other things here real quick. Gas masks. I called around to see if we had any of the other jobbers. We may have one company in the south that's getting a couple of containers in shortly. I will know what the restock is and if they get them they're going to be across the board in the system here. So we'll find out more about that as we go to see what they have available. But again, the Swiss masks may come in in another wave. If they do, again, we'll let you know what the unit price is. They've actually been quite reasonable, a pretty decent piece of equipment. Leaning towards the Israeli Civil Defense Mask, but two or three steps above that. The Israeli mask is a good mask. It's a German made. Not a problem with that. But the Swiss don't do anything cheap, they don't do anything poorly, they're always well-designed, well-engineered, and will live to see two or three generations of service. Just something to take into consideration. Anyway, a couple of other things here real quick. With regard to gas masks is the question about filters. Well, filters, I don't know. We've already given everybody some ideas. Gun Parts Corporation, which was old numeric arms, has the 60 millimeter NATO filters in stock by the case. They may have some masks even right now because they buy from the wholesalers that we buy from and they also import and buy themselves in volume. So we'll have to look to see what they continue to carry, but they do have the filters. As far as the Swiss filters, a second generation of Swiss filters and 40 millimeter have now come into the system. The first models, which are very common still, you'll see a lot of them out there in the retail end, not so much in the wholesale, are in the transport clamshell. The next wave that are coming in right now apparently were volume stored. I believe originally these were in five round tubes and I made the mistake of taking them out of the transport tubes. The Germans were doing this. I believe that pretty much everybody kind of standardized on that way back in the 50s through to the 80s. Kind of stuck with us through the 90s but you know different methods and different manufacturers and different criteria. Depending on who was politically involved in the supply chain for any government. That dictates the latest flavor of the day way to do things. However, these latest Swiss filters coming in are comparable to the ones that you've seen in the clamshell. Very clean, virtually, I am again pristine, untouched, but the indication is, unfortunately, is that they were told that they had to take them out of the transport cans overseas to bring them into the US. In the past, these have come in in the tubes sealed. So they're pristine, they just look like they just came from the factory. It's because they've been sealed in a nitrogen packed tube for 10, 15 years, who knows. 10 years, 5 years, 20 years, I get a little of the date. Filters are dated. Now filters, it's purely a matter of whether or not the container is compromised and the seals are compromised. If they are not, the storage value of any of these filters is indefinite. That's one of the especially critical issues with regard to people saying, well, what good would it be for? Well, again, remember, fallout, anything will stop it. And everything and anything that stops you from breathing fallout is a real good thing. So any filter will work for that purpose. The other thing, well, I'm going to point out, you've been watching all this stuff going on in the Ukraine. They shoved it down everybody's throat through the propaganda machine, the vomitorium slash television. And what are you seeing in the air every few minutes, guys? What's the color of the air constantly? It's almost like it's not really well tuned in. No, that's the haze of the battlefield. And the battlefield being run by riot police on one side and the protesters slash the rioters on the other or the pre-resistance groups. Well, CS, CN, Cap-Sium oil, all kinds of other stuff is thrown out there in force. So it's pretty darn obvious that a gas mask would be a good idea. And it's been reinforced, if you'll notice, how many of the people out there that were on the front line with the resistance, what were they wearing, guys? Oh, there's two things they were wearing. They had helmets, and they had gas masks. And if they couldn't find a gas mask, they were covering their face and putting, making up or improvising filter systems. weren't they? Some people were using spray painter type respirator systems, you know, resuscitator models. And then wearing goggles with those the way you normally would in a shop. Any number of different ways that you saw were improvised. If you stop the imagery, even if it's a video and put it in freeze, start looking at the many different solutions that were there. Why? Because it filters out most. It may not get all of, but it would filter out most of the heavy particle that creates the irritation that you're worried about. This allows you to focus on the battlefield. Okay? But remember, they didn't run and leave and abandon the situation, did they guys? Instead, they held the line and they stayed in contact with the aggressor. That's from their perspective. So, just something to think about there. Again, why gas mask? Well, why don't you ask some of those Ukrainians and they'll tell you all about it. Do you see how that works? By the way, you'll also notice something. In this up and coming series of actions, you're going to find and you'll notice that the Russian and the Ukrainian troops, and by the way, the Ukrainian troops, if they're regular or reserve or guard, doesn't mean they're with either force, either with the Russians or the Ukrainians, you'll notice that they're very religious with their gas masks. Maybe that's because they've been living and experiencing that battlefield environment on a regular basis. But you won't find spare bras and nylons and chocolate bars in their gas mask bags. You will find the gas mask and the decontamination equipment and the prep equipment to maintain the mask where it belongs. They take the battlefield very seriously and there is no doubt in their mind, in fact it's been drilled into their mind, that they are going to see NBC, nuclear, biological or chemical deployment. They expect it. So only the weenie operations on this side of the planet where everybody is at child level with regard to understanding the battlefield situation across the board. I'm talking about the general population, not you. and again, proper planning prevents piss poor performance. So again, gas mask, chem hoods were applicable. The cheap chem suits seem to be gone. I'm sorry, I can't. There are a few buys here and there and I would recommend a couple of different companies. KeepShooting.com has got some pretty good buys on stuff. Main military is another option but main military inventory is way down guys. There's a lot of stuff that they've sold out of and doesn't look like it's going to be coming back up in inventory. That's not a surprise. That's nothing that's really going on. Oh, shocked. I'm shocked. No, not at all. You guys have been depleting this stuff, purchasing and purchasing and purchasing more to the point where eventually they run out. Just that simple. So, for everybody out there, again, take the time, check out to see what they do have at Maine Military. Let's look to see what NBC and GAS, what they do have in chemical right now. I'm going to do that simply because I haven't done in a while. Been too busy. As a sub note, we've been working on getting ready for the gardening. Greenhouses got a lot of little seedlings started up, got a lot of the work done today that I needed to to get the second chambers and the greenhouse insulated, sealed up so that they're heated. A simple light bulb is all that's needed for that. They don't have the buys that they had before on the chem tops, but they do have the Swiss gas mask filters in the clamshell for $750 apiece. Probably looks like they still have the NATO Mark III chem suits. Let's see what size they have. The OD green Mark III's are, in fact, they're typically not really OD green. They're more of a Kelly green. But size offered, small medium and they do have large. I would recommend the Mark III. I really really would. I'll tell you that right now. So for the price $10 a set. Now this is a top and bottom. Do not take these out of the package. These are in, if they're in the, if these chem suits are in the package, they are compressed and they are in, they're in a vacuum environment. When you pop them open, they won't go back in the bag. Okay. This set includes a smock with the hood and the trousers, vacuum sealed and airtight poly bags. They are really very storage positive. Now I would also recommend something else here, and I've talked about this before, but for a light cold weather or even for intermediate cold weather gear, remember that the chem suits by the Brits considered chem suits are part of the cold weather equipment if need be. And they do work very well. So, just as a sub reminder that if you put a set of these in your kit, in your Alice Pack, guys, they are providing you, you're providing yourself with actually more clothing, additional clothing down the road that can be quite useful. So, it's not a bad idea that you're looking at $10 a set and by what Frank is saying, he has small, medium and large size Mark III British slash NATO chem suits. Again, that is mainmilitary.com. When you go to mainmilitary.com, take the time and scroll down on the left-hand side and you've got the NBC section that's there. As a matter of fact, it's gas masks, that forward slash NBC forward slash chem. Ah, but wait, I missed this because it was at the top of the page. They do have the British DPM chemaflice chem suits at $10 a set right now. But they only offer them in medium. So while you can get the Mark 3's, the Mark 4's are in mediums only. The Mark 3's are in small, medium, and large. Try to match up size specific. If you've got somebody who takes small sizes, get the smalls. If they take medium, get the medium. If they take a large, get the large. And large is going to fit up to a little bigger than large because there's a lot of space in there. Trust me on that one. Also, decontamination chemicals, something else that I would recommend. Remember, pool, pool, puddered pool bleaches, cheapest, fastest way to get a lot of material on the shelf and it has many, many purposes. Not simply for taking care of the swimming pool, okay? but for improvising or building up decon kits, the pool powder used in very controlled environment and very limited because you want to make sure all those people say, I want to be generous, I want to get all that, whatever that is. Well, that's true, but remember also if you have a specific contaminated area easily identified because of whatever you've been in, then you want to be specific to neutralize the area and keep the use of the material down because you're going to need to use it over and over again. Chances are you're going to have a second and a third and a fourth reason to be putting the decon kits to work. So we can build them. You don't have to necessarily buy those. A decon kit can be built from scratch. We've got all the material we need over the counter. It's just a matter again of taking the time doing a little research and prepping everything and putting it together. Now, one other thing here and I was looking to see, yes they do have a lot of the other woodland molly gear. And for all of you guys out there, clearance and bulk sales, that's another thing that they have at Maine Military. One of the interesting things that I've noticed I've been I've been perusing go uncle Sam's retail outlet and several of the others Frank has still got some pretty good buys if you're putting woodland camo Molly gear together single mag pouches grenade pouches Sustainment pouches he has in stock five of the sustainment pouches for $35 which is pretty reasonable Again that puts them in what six? dollars and fifty cents or whatever seventy five that's pretty reasonable price for the sustainment pouches and again these are in woodland camouflage so you can put a complete woodland kit together for the molly gear pretty quick now there's battle belts that were mentioned the other day and i get i want to reinforce this little battle belts are nothing more than a remake re-introduction of the uh... of a pistol belt cartridge belt but it's the molly gear version and of course it's padded We've all become softer individuals than we were when our dad or grandpa or great grandpa was around. We have to have padded everything because we don't have padded everything. We just couldn't possibly go to war. I know this is Woodland Camel. It's not in Vogue. It's not the latest camouflage Vogue available, but it works. Again, the stuff is already paid for. Your tax dollars paid for it. MOLLE Double Mag pouches, $5.05 for $12.50. 5-pack of MOLLE Canteen Woodland Camo, $30. The Grenade pouches, $5.05 for $12.50. Sustainment pouches, $5.05 for $35. And they've got the Single Mag M16 pouches for $12.05. So you can actually put together a pretty inexpensive rig. If you look around you'll find the OD green or the other, you know, whatever woodland camo, molly vest you pick and choose from. This gives you the rest of the gear to put on. So if you find a bare bones molly vest, then you've got the ability to snag it and tag it accordingly and plug it all in. The other thing that I would mention, and this has to do with ponchos, is somebody was asking me the other day, well, The Austrian ponchos came in but they've come and gone as quickly as they came in. The OD Green Poncho, it's a copy of our US Poncho. Yes, it's a good model. It's very serviceable. They've been bought up. Everybody, as soon as they see any of these regular standard-issue type ponchos, you can get remakes. Yes, there are out there. The Chinese are making copies in plectarn, woodland camo, OD green, black, coyote brown, three-colored desert, five-color chocolate chip, and I think they've got several of the exotic euro camos, too, if you want to look for it. And needless to say, you can get Marpat or slash woodland digital. take your pick. So there's digital. I think you even got ACU ponchos from the Chinese now. But the most common is going to be the Odie Green, the Flecktarn, and the Woodland. Again, just because those are older patterns, there's a lot of the inventory up where they've already built a bunch of the stuff, and it's going to be retail price. However, if you see the Austrian ponchos, they're Odie Green, They're military issue. They are the rip stop. They're like our later model poncho only just standard OD, no woodland cam or anything like that. The prices have been pretty reasonable. I don't know what the retail is running, but yes, those are serviceable. Otherwise, if you're looking for just spare ponchos, and again, you're looking for quantity, maybe a separate 5-10 program, I would remind you that if you go to Oh, let's see, go to www.colmans.com. Still the best price. I was just looking at the colmans.com. They still have a lot of clearance. In fact, they have a better price than Maine. They have a better price than everybody. For in their clearance and closeout section, you go to clearance and there's that little banner that creeps up all the time. Scroll down the first page and you will find that they have Yes, they do. They still have them. They're the Pancho Swiss Alpine Flauge. They're camouflage and they're $3 apiece. That's half the price of wholesale. Tell you that right now, beyond a shadow of a doubt, I've been dealing with all these companies for a long time, guys. If you're looking for Swiss Panchos, in fact, if you're looking for wet weather combo gear, here's the thing. They've got Swiss Alpine Flauge Panchos for $3. They've got rubber USGI over boots brand new in the box never issued for $3. They have in addition to that the rubber chemical protective gloves in size small, a 72 count case for $9. You really can't beat that for the price. There are a couple of items here on that first clearance section. I've mentioned this many times and they still have them. In fact, I was going to buy some of these the other day because they're munchkin and girl and smaller guy size. Booty Hat, US GI Desert US Military Issue. Yawn Issued 6 Color Desert Pattern Booty Hats, 6 7 8th Inches Sizes, 6 7 8th. The fact that they're US made, if you look outside, take a look at the colors. Remember, you get outside the chocolate chip. Desert pattern works quite well. The biggest thing is, again, does it fit your area of operation? If you're looking for desert pattern or desert colors, the tans, the browns, the russets, then definitely you can find enough in the markdown section to pretty well kit out a person top to bottom with all brand new gear. You just have to jump all over the place to find it. NBC gear and the process also wet weather gear or wet operations gear. They've got the rubber boot, they've got the Swiss Alpine Flage, Panchos $3, overshoes, rubber USGI for $3 and they've also got the rubber gloves for a 72 count case for $9. You can't beat that. and that takes care of your small people. Now granted, well Mark, I'll get a big hand. Well then buy some more big gloves. But for the price, these are US military chem gloves. They can be used for all kinds of other work. Hell, for $72, $8, $9 you could use them for if you have a maintenance company or if somebody does house cleaning. These are better gloves than anything else. You could give the girls. If you've got a team of people that do maintenance or are doing apartment cleaning. Guys, 72 sets of gloves for $9. you can't even buy the china sport junk gloves for that price not for the the kind of quality you get here because these things are US mil spec and made in the United States they're not china sport and they're not going to disintegrate on your hands while you're using them so just taking a consideration there again that's Coleman's dot com Coleman's dot com www.comans.com and go to their clearance and close out section it's their clearance section now A couple of other things here we were discussing and having to do with tactical motion and fire maneuver in this kind of weather. One of the things that is going to happen when we talk about camo, it's not as easy a thing as you might work out, so you have to come up with a medium. Right now, for instance, take a look if you're here in Michigan. Look outside. What are the colors that you see? Now, remember I mentioned that five-colored desert? If you take a combination of the desert browns, the coyote browns, and the tri-color or the five color, or the British TPM, and then complement that with the snow camouflage kit, even a snow camouflage veil, just to break up your pattern. Guys, and use it like a scarf. Use it as a hanging scarf, draping to a degree. Look at the conditions outside. We have intermittent white with bright brown tan. colors from the corn crops which are exposed and a lot of the other thatch and grass. So think again, don't think of solid color. Think about breaking up because if you move through this environment you're going to be changing shade and background constantly. And this is something that again, there's never anything that's going to be perfect. There's some that work better than others. But if you combine and think through so that your camouflage gear matches your environment, In this environment we are now with snow on the ground, mixed earth, you know, slash leaf colors. We've got the gray-green of the tree trunks. We don't have a whole lot of green out there, but if you move long enough, you get back into pine forest and cedar. We've got a lot of cedar in this area. In fact, it offers excellent camouflaging, you know, offers concealment. It doesn't offer cover, but it does offer concealment quite well. Breaks up your silhouette, blocks your view, and again offers yet another color shade range that needs to be taken into consideration. We have pine stands that run for miles, even in this area. And there again, now you're into the gray and you're into the greens. So that's where again you have to balance it out. Remember too though that if you're going through older pine forests, The whey this time of year is a mix of snow and pine frond. And the pine frond will be what color? Tan, dough colored tan. So the Boxcar East German camouflage, the BGS border guard camouflage, which has the browns, the greens, and the russets, actually works exceptionally well. It was built for pine forest. That's one of the best camouflages for pine forest, but you're not going to be in it constantly. And it does work well even out in the open. The BGS border guard camouflage pattern was designed for open terrain. It's got doe skin, OD green, and a russet in it. If I could get more of it, I'd buy it. The problem is there's only a handful of items that are available and they're becoming shorter in supply and more expensive as we go. So I prefer it. I might even have to build it myself. A lot of tan camouflage out there. Give me some Rit dye and a few other templates and I can make some really cool stuff that'll look close enough to the BGS you wouldn't know the difference and it would work. But we also have five color chocolate chip. We have three color desert. All those would blend in well, provided you complement it with some white snow camo. Think about how the grass lays out there. Take a look at the environment. Match it. Even with your head gear, your booney hat with, say, the five color chocolate chip we were just talking about, but enhancing that with a little extra, like say, of the white snow screen. that the US military uses to create the illusion of melted snow. Remember, you're typically still going to try to lay down or get as close to the ground as you can. Well, look at the terrain, drop down and look at the environment you're in. How are you going to match it up? So I just want to bring it up because we are going to be on the field this weekend coming up. The guys will be Camp Emmerich. Oh, that's right. I should have mentioned that last call. Kick me in the microphone. Camp Emmerich has got some additional construction going on. We're going to be putting up a number of new buildings. Now it's a little early in the season, but these are mobiles. So they're going to clear off, or actually, forgive me, they cleared off the site already where they're going to be installing the buildings. This is going to be a very busy weekend. We're going to need everybody's help to do all of the grunt work. But the idea is in the first two to three hours, all of these buildings will be up and finished. They're modular, the walls have already been constructed, the door frames are already built along with the door modules. All you've got to do is plug and screw everything together, put the corner trim in for the corner pieces, and congratulations, you've got yourself a mobile building. And the idea behind this is there's been discussion about, again, needing a little more barracks space. These are going to be used like the old officers encampment down at Oh, Camp Fort Gordon, also at Fort Knox. It should be able to deal with about six people per building, and we're putting up at least three or four additional buildings. The advantage is that each of these will be little mini barracks, and they're already paid for. They're already done. Roofing is going to take more time than the actual assembly of the building, guys. So congratulations, but Camp Emmerich, we are going to be everybody. Well, bring your tools. Bring your power battery power drills. The more battery power drills we have, the less time it will take to put it together. And that and your hammers. We all know everything will be fasteners will already be there. Everything you need will be on site. But it is going to be some combat engineer work. So we get that done and we get out of the training. We are at the top of the hour almost. Oh no, we are at the top of the hour. We got Joe coming up next. Don't you think you're going to touch that dial? Because we need to grow food to feed our people this year guys and the next and the next and the next So we're gonna make sure we have a permaculture system in place Joe's gonna help to make that happen to help you how to help you to get through the Wholesome spring where we're gonna have wet and more we're gonna get grounded. No, we're not we've got all that wealth out there and it's melting into the ground It's it's coming down. We're gonna get some more snow at least one or two more little snows before winter leaves us don't be surprised. I'm not In fact, so far everything is going winter-wise the way we expected. Our wood pile worked just to the distance it needed to. And we're accumulating more goodies in the prop. Anyway, we should be hearing the music any moment now. Mark. Uh oh, go ahead caller. Who do we have? This is Hubert. Hubert, jump in there please. Can I give you a call? Uh, yeah, I'll tell you what. Give me about five minutes after we stop. I'll give you ten minutes. There we go. Very good. Thank you. We're going to bring them in, plug them in, test them out. First take them apart, clean them up, air them out, check them to see if they've got any rust in the wrong places. Once everything's tested, get them back together and plug and play. Find out how it works. And the big thing here is to give it a plus or a negative. What do we need to fix? Pass it on to one of our radio geeks who does CB radios. In fact, that's all he's doing now is CB radios. And the idea is to go through everything that we have and square it away as quickly as we can. Anyway. I hope we got Ed there because we are at the top of the aisle. I knew he was there. God bless the Republic. Death from the new little order we shall reveal, ladies and gentlemen. In players up and running, we're in a march. We'll be back, but don't you touch that dial.
