Now, one of the things I would point out about this real quick, guys, is none of you have built a three, a 72 hour kit that I know of. Most everybody out there when I see their quote unquote, bug out bags, it's, you know, this is my 72 hour kit. It's like, no, no, that's not. That's a one week to two week kit at least. Then everybody goes, well, we call it a sub-ejor kit. Well, guys, let me point something out. Before, how many of you were Vietnam era troops, and even if you aren't your post Vietnam era, how many of you know we have what's called a fanny pack, butt pack? Actually, the original Nomenclature port is three day utility pack or three day pack. It's the little butt pack that goes on your belt in the back of your pistol belt for a cargo carrier, right? Guys, I gave you the name, three day pack. Now let's see, 24. and 24 and 24 is what? 72 hours. Not beans, you know jelly beans or something. In other words, you've already put together that was a three-day pack. That's what that was called. Well Mark, that's the actual nomenclature. Now here's the interesting thing is that originally if you watch all these World War II movies you see the M43 backpack. Now the M43 is the one that's square, it's in the back, right in the middle of the guy's back and he should have the blank roll over it. That's a three-day pack. But if you'll notice, they weren't carrying a pack lower down around the belt, were they? Now, what happened is, first they made that in M1943. There's a lot of changes with Webb here in World War II. They didn't, they never threw anything away. Whatever, they just got relegated to other troops, guys. They never tossed it out, it went to somebody else. But the fact of the matter is that that three-day pack was up in the middle of the back, and then they decided, well, you know, we gotta go farther. So they created what was called a K-Ration bag. Now the K ration bag sat right below that M43 bag and laced to it with two straps and then also hooked up to your cartridge belt, which back in the day remember was a pocket, a 10 pocket or a 6 pocket BAR belt, a 10 pocket rifle belt or a 6 pocket BAR belt. Now when you did that, the cool thing is you ended up with a lot of extra storage for a whole big long line of K ration boxes. That was what its purpose was. But troops very quickly opted out to carry the lower Fanny pack slash, oh did I give you a hint? The K-ration bag instead of the 43 bag because it was lower center of gravity and it was more convenient so the guys modified them. Now at the end of the war and going into World War II and a half, you know Korea, in World War II and a half we basically went into the field with the same combat kit. Not much of any significant changes except that more of the mountain, 10th Division Mountain troop equipment was adopted. and subunits had more of the wishbone, backpacks, and all the other fun stuff, the bigger packs that were arctic packs. Anyway, 1956, the 3D pack shows up. Congratulations, everybody starts using it. You all know it as the butt pack during Vietnam, fanny pack, whatever name you want to use. The idea behind it is that's a 3D pack. See how small it is? But if you packed it right, everything you needed for a 3D operation goes into that pack or laces to the outside or sits on the outside of that pack. Your Alice pack or your backpack that you're carrying is not a 72-hour pack. It's much more. In fact, as we said, if you knew that you were going into the field, you'd jam it full of all the headables you can and carry as much water as you can along with purification. And you've got a basic one to two week combat load. Something to think about there. So again, we've gone beyond them. In fact, we expect everybody to. It's interesting the hypocrisy of the same shysters who told you that all those guys in the Patriot movement and the militia, they're crazy. Oh, by the way, we're going to mimic exactly what they told you to do. I hate hypocrites. We're the ones in uniform like that. Anyway, there were a couple of things we had some ideas about. I'll jump in there. Go ahead. But in the interim, let's go back to the wolf thing we talked about last week. We talked about, uh, a lot bigger generally than rabbit. that shot and estimating range by size. Well, you know what they're doing? Let's talk about them for a moment here. It sure looks like a football to me. Across the river and it swam right in front of me about eight feet, maybe 10 feet in front of me. I was very quiet. As the biggest beaver I had ever seen with the head of size of a football. I swam right by me, yep. that people think oh it's like 10 15 pound animal no we're talking 60 70 80 pound beavers back in the day when all you heard about the French Canadian And the Goy-A-Gere, when they would go and it would be the trapere over here on the Great Lakes or the Michigan. And they would come up through the peninsula over to, of course, like the Michelin-Mélé-Lac area. What they would do is they would be tripping the beaver. Need a new beaver hat. Need a new beaver vest. And beaver pelts, well, one beaver pelt did a good portion of the coat. Uh-huh. In fact, one beaver pelt did the back and one beaver pelt did the front. Uh-huh. You didn't know that? You're thinking that Danny Beaver, in fact, really if we get things keep going, and in fact you're already seeing this, there's a couple places we have areas here. We actually have a massive reptile population all over the country. You just go in there back and forth and you look at anything. But there are isolated areas where we have, I mean the turtle population alone is just active. And when I say massive, I had a laugh. Somebody looked down into one of the areas here that's isolated and goes, look at all those really weird looking lily pads. I had to tell them, I said, those aren't lily pads. I said, look closer. Some of the lily pads are moving. And they look closer. And it's a colony of about, oh, I would say 800 to 900 rubberbacks. All sizes. Size of a lily pad all the way down the size of your hand. And you know it's like this all over the place, contrary to what they're saying, you know, on the one hand, well you see when you get nice weather, you know, habitat improvement, you know, promotes growth and well, that's like good for things. They're happy. Now of course when you get a bitter, nasty, they're not so happy. And some of them will stay right there nestled in the mud or stuck in their burrow, frozen to death when the time comes. And that's just the way things work. This is where people have a hard time relating to the idea that, yes, they were chasing this way. And the one put us on the lap and this is what I would do nowadays.
