Mark Koernke discussed preparedness, firearms, and food storage on January 27, 2014. He promoted affordable handguns from e-circoinc.com and SARCO, including FEG Hungarian high powers and various surplus pistols, emphasizing magazine availability and pricing. He interviewed Don about night vision technology, highlighting first-generation gun sights at $400. Koernke advocated strongly for supporting a Michigan farmer at BakersGreenAcres.com facing DNR harassment over heritage pig production, urging listeners to purchase pork, beef, and chicken directly. He promoted freeze-dried long-range reconnaissance patrol rations from FreezeDryGuy.com, discussing lima beans, eggs with ham and bacon, and field cooking techniques. The show included discussion of food security, tactical preparedness, and community support for local producers resisting government interference.

His clothes were torn and dirty as he stood there by my bed. He took off his three-cornered hat, and speaking low to me, he said, We've fought a revolution to secure our liberty. We wrote the Constitution as a shield from tyranny. For future generations, this legacy we gave. In this, the land of the free and home of the brave. The freedoms we secured for you we hoped you'd always keep. But tyrants labored endlessly while your parents were asleep. Your freedom's gone, your courage lost, you're no more than a slave. In this, the land of the free and home of the brave. You buy permits to travel and permits to own a gun. Permits to start a business or to build a place for one. On land that you believe you own, you pay a yearly rent. Although you have no voice in saying how the money's spent, your children must attend a school that doesn't educate, and your Christian values can't be taught according to the state. You read about the current news in a regulated press, and you pay a tax you do not owe to please the IRS. Your money is no longer made of silver nor of gold. You trade your wealth for paper so your life can be controlled. You pay for crimes that make our nation turn from God and shame. You've taken Satan's number. You've traded in your name. You've given government control to those who do you harm so they could burn down churches and seize the family farm. And keep our country deep in debt. Put men of God in jail. Harash your fellow countrymen while corrupted courts prevail. Your public servants don't uphold the solemn oaths they've sworn. And your daughters visit doctors so their children won't be born. Your leaders send artillery and guns to foreign shores and send your sons to slaughter fighting other people's wars. Can you regain the freedoms for which we fought and died? Or don't you have the courage or the faith to stand with pride? And are there no more values for which you'll fight to save? Or do you wish your children to live in fear and be a slave? Oh, sons of the Republic, arise. Take a stand. Defend the Constitution, the Supreme Law of the land. Preserve our great Republic and each God-given right. And pray to God to keep the torch of freedom burning bright. As I awoke, he'd vanished in the mist from whence he came. His words were true. We are not free, but we have ourselves to blame. For even now as tyrants trample each God given right we only watch in tremble too afraid to stand and fight if he stood by your bedside to dream while you were asleep and Wondered what remains of the freedoms he'd fought to keep what would be your answer if he called out from the grave is this? participants in this conference this conference is being recorded Please announce yourselves. We're almost we've almost survived a month almost yeah Which is one twelfth of the year wait I'm not gonna mention all the efforts the other side has been making to put us in the ground and trying not to let us get this far and Make it look like an accident or natural or whatever We could talk about the chemtrails. We could talk about acid rain. We could talk about the Fracking we could talk about water in general. We could talk about all kinds of ways you are under attack Me too. Mark too. But, you know, that's part of the human condition. That's part of being alive and you have to pay attention. Otherwise you might put your foot in a hole and never walk again. And when you can't walk, guess what? Let's see, on this continent, the Kai Wolf will catch up with you. On other continents, it might be the lion or the Russian bear. Oh, in Australia, it could be the dingoes. No, the dingoes! Yes. But again, you know, you guys, we fret over this. We wring our hands over this. But this is part of being alive. That's all it is. This is the same thing that went on with Cain and Abel. Only it was a smaller scale and the tools weren't so high tech. Understand that and your life gets a lot easier. Understand that and you know you have a greater portion of how to deal with them than a lot of people who are just, oh there's nothing we can do about it. Oh, it's, you know, one of the things that irks me Mark, and there are people that are gonna really be offended by this, but I know my maker won't be offended by this. When I say that a lot of people use that cop out, it's God's will. And there's nothing we can do about it. Oh no, that's not true. Why do you think he gives you free will? Why do you think he gives you a choice here on earth while you're alive, walking and talking? Why do you think he gives you a choice, particular about the talking part right now? Because you can keep your mouth shut. Plenty of people do. Plenty of people don't want to draw attention to themselves in the public place. They'll leave the soapbox at home. You know what I'm referring to there. We've talked about this a number of times. But Mark, I heard a song while I was listening or in the background yesterday, part of those Grammy things, I didn't pay attention to all of that, but there was a part of a song that talked about, I want to see you be brave, was the refrain in the song. And that's spiritual. Now, I don't know if that author, that songwriter had that in mind or if she was being just as earthly and as, oh, we could as humanistic as possible in there. I want to see you be brave. But that is something that should be natural to a human man. I know it's a little bit redundant with the wordage there. To a human male. Being brave is part of what you are. You're that portion that's supposed to step up and defend the family while the children and the wife is over there cowering. You're beating down the wolf. You're beating down the bear. Oh, you're taking care of the dingoes too. We're not just talking about natural threats. We're talking along the lines of the brigands, the scallywags. We've seen this example as of late with the girl who was standing or walking someplace and her boyfriend got knocked out. The guy that did it walked over there and just started laughing and carrying on like he was all happy and had some kind of victory until the girl went over there and stomped the dog snot out of him. The girl! It goes to show you. Yes, you're right Randy. Exactly. I recognize that voice. As a matter of fact, I'll tell you what, we got, I think Randy right there with us. Yep. Randy, you've got a program on LTR now, I believe. Why don't you let everybody know how they can listen to it. You've got to remember, slow. Repeat three times whenever you give out the number. That's our policy here so our people can write it down. Take your time. We own the network. Go ahead. Okay, we have the medical marijuana hour. That goes over to identifiers, doesn't it? From where? They don't want us to anything. Probably cruise ships. Our Navy can have them. Try to keep people from getting sick while they're shipboard? Yeah, and they got good docs what they got on them. Well, again, that goes over to who knows what comes on board in the form of who might go on board intentionally. That goes back over to, did you sell your tickets to the Super Bowl? There you go. The Super Bowl issue earlier in the day talking about the big hubbub around the Olympics and ignoring any threat to the Super Bowl. They haven't mentioned that. That's the point. I don't know what they're bringing up in array. as defenses around it. But I saw Black Sunday. You remember that movie? So again, it would be a pretty good target as far as a terrorist thing to attack a Super Bowl. And we've mentioned that over the years. Big crowds aren't conducive to long life in such times. Again, the mall shooting there, the black guy, the two white people, I don't know if that was, they still don't know what brought that about. If that was a triangle kind of thing or what, or if that was just, I just want to shoot somebody. They don't know what brought that about. We may never truly know. Well, again, you know, sword spin they want to put on it. Through that area? As far as that goes, population-wise, a more controlled event, yes. The thing about that is if a terrorist wants casualties right away, a terrorist wants something bigger than last time. Otherwise people will move the palm of their hand across their forehead, wipe the sweat up their forehead, shake it to the ground and say, man, did we dodge a bullet. It could have been so much worse. Remember the towers, remember this, remember that. So again, it's a one-upsmanship thing, isn't it? Snowden? Yeah. Snowden, yeah. He's uh, said he's worried FBI wanted to quit it. Probably. Like the umbrella attack? We talked about that. We've addressed that a number of times about that. A pleasant way to die. Oh, he was on uh, definitely his life. Let's see what happens there. Right, state secrets are invaluable. You can't put a price on them, right? You don't know what the damage could be. Other than that, you're doing an hour on Saturdays, right? Yep, Saturdays. It's Eastern time, right? Okay. Thank you, Randy. Hey, we're rapidly filling up the ranks of the Liberty Tree Radio. And that will be on the weekend, guys. Our weekend lineup is expanding. Also, if you'd like to do programming, I will remind everybody that you can jump in there, get hold of Ed. You can give us an email at libertyatprovide.net. We have a number of different hours where of course we have talked to Ed, we'll figure out what breaks he wants or what he needs during the day and through the evening. Remember, he is the chief cook and bottle washer for production, so he decides what's going to happen. For the most part, anything that's open on the schedule where we have a rebroadcast is open for somebody to do a live program, except for Sunday. Sunday we're trying to leave blank as a day off. There we go. and for everybody out there take the time if you've got people you'd like to put together to set up programming you don't have to do every day of the week you can do one day now that one hour you know in the week to get going and uh... you know build up and develop your skills or your uh... i guess uh... courage ability to have a look at it Basically, you get a chance to try it out. As you get working at the programming, you get used to it and find your niche. Then you can expand as needed too. It's not a problem, but you need to get a hold of it and find out more. One of the things real quick, I'm going to shift down for a minute. We're almost at the bottom of the hour by the way. FEG High Power E-Circle, E-Circle, Inc. Now guys, it's pretty hard to find anything for under $300 and what few things are under $300 or $200 are kind of few and far between. Over at e-circoinc.com they've got FEG high powers. These are the FEG models I've talked about before. Very good condition for $250 a piece. Now, that makes this a pretty decent little pocket pistol or hand cannon for those of you who needed one to go along with the inventory. They also have Korean-Israeli high powers. Whether or not they have those in stock, well, they're supposed to. They're $275 a piece. One nice thing about this, standard Browning high power mags. Find out more depending on the pistol, double check and confirm the cross referencing. SACO doesn't have that many handguns listed. They do have baluster Molinas and Model 27 Colt's. Price is more expensive and they have a lot of service time on them guys. They've got the 1911-1930 original medium grade with marks worn anywhere from $4 to $6 to $650. So those are more of a, gee you're looking for something unique and collectible, you can get a brand new 45-1911 out of the box for a lot less. But there are some really interesting odd man out. They've got a Daewoo Model P51 9mm high power. I do not know whether or not it takes a high power mag, but $225 apiece. And these are in very good condition. Now these look to be both a single and double action semi-automatic pistol. So you might want to check these out. They're a day-woo! Model DP51, $225 if they're in stock. Now you have to call, and if you go to e-circoinc.com, e-circoinc.com, then go to pistols over there in the category on the side. Scroll down and take a look at what they have, but that's actually a medium price for a decent hand cannon. If you're looking for a defense gun that you could put in a holster on your combat gear or put into a cache someplace, That will work, provided if it takes high power mags especially, and it says Daewoo Model P-51 Korean high power, if it takes and locks a high power mag, which I can see the Koreans being smart enough to do that, then that would make that a very affordable pistol to feed. It is not the razor, it is the blades of all these handguns. If it is a standard magazine that you can find either in aftermarket or factory or military, ideally, then it is something worth looking at. The high par mag has been around for a long time. There are companies out there that have them. Most of the stuff that is really cheap are the BAN era mags which are 10 round magazines. Which for me, if I can get them for half price, grab them. I'm more concerned with the idea that I can change out mags. If you look at it once you get it, you might find that how they restricted it isn't really that much of a restriction you get in the drift. So definitely worthwhile. Other than that, they do have some Arcus 94s in very good condition. The only problem with the Arcus is magazines. I don't know whether or not mags are available, but Don, they have Arcus, which by the way, back in the 80s, the Arcus was one of those up and coming firearms. They are the Arcus family of fire off handguns into the 90s and they have them for a fair to good condition for $175. Now how many they have and what they have, I am going to have to call to find out. But there is a specific number if you want to find out and call, find out more about them at 610-250-3960. They list the fare models for $175, which means field worn on the outside. Inside typically are mechanically in good condition. Just tired on the outside from carry. They also got very good condition for $225. So for $50 more you jump into the next grade. Again, magazines, surface rubber. OK, look at the evaluations down below and we'll give you an idea. Let's see, the grips are hogged with an Arcus stamp. Promised Arcus frame trigger guard are larger than a typical high powers. So they're stretched and don't fit your hand well either. Well, that's of course a matter of individual shooter there guys. If you have the big beefy hands, you wouldn't have any problem. It's like a .45. If you're looking for beefy guns. Anyway, check it out. See what it is. It might be useful for you. And then act accordingly. Personally, again, buying a weapon for that price, it's feel great. I'm not expecting pretty. I ain't looking for it to be pretty on the outside. And by the way, chances are, it's going to get hit with a coat of spray paint by the time I'm done anyway. So it'll match up the rest of my tactical gear. Get my drift. It's a working gun. It's a spade. It's a hammer. In this case, it's a hand cannon. Anyway, Don, we're at the bottom of the hour. Night vision technology. You have it. People need it. How can we get hold of you and what do you have available, sir? Well, I reiterate on the price thing, when my prices come down, your prices come down. So that first generation gun sight last year, all of last year, was $429 this year. I'd hope to say all of this year, it's $400 right in your mailbox. That's a first generation gun. First generation is older technology. We quit using first generation in Vietnam like 71, 72. We quit a lot of things in Vietnam in the 71, 72 didn't we? But older technology, but in this instance it is 308 capable. It will live on top of your M1, your AR10, your FN FAL. Right in your mailbox, $400. 2.5 power. true That's good for reading, working your hands or watching exact placement because a two tube system kind of gives you a good facsimile of depth perception. We could come up with a monocular, be it for a third generation handheld, something that might hang from your headgear or your helmet. Give me a call. My number is 2317968458231796. 8458. Thank you Mark. Did I hear a bell? Perhaps we have a caller. Let's be safe. Do we have a caller? Maybe we've got a listener but it doesn't hurt to find out. Very good. By the way, real quick here. Hey Mark, it's Jay C. from PA. I was inside the cloud in and telling the... Don talking about his night vision. Just trying to catch up on what you guys were talking about. Very good. Thank you, sir. Now for everybody out there real quick, I mentioned before the bottom of the door break, before we went to Night Vision, e-circoinc.com has Hungarian high powers, the PR9s, okay the B9s. Well, guess what? I was curious, Don, if they have mags, guys, the pistol is reasonably priced, they have brand new mags. In fact, they have mags for $15 a piece if you buy one. However, I would be rather foolish to do that because if you buy 3 to 99 of them, they are $12 a piece. Actually, $11.65. Low enough that I would actually just say $11.65. because that means you can buy a lot more mags. Now this means that you have, it's not an orphan pistol this way, you have a decent handgun that will put a nice leaky hole in you with 15 rounds available and they have spare mags. This is it, they're Hungarian. In fact by the way anybody else they're listening is looking for P9 mags. for their Hungarian high powers. They're the P9R mags, 9mm obviously, and if you buy 3 or more, they're $11.65 a piece, which means 12, we'll go up, I'll say $12, there we go. But $12 is pretty stinkin' reasonable for a magazine for that gun. So, I would highly recommend, if you have that weapon and you were looking for mags, E-Circle Inc. And I know these mags have been a bugger for years. So for everybody out there that was looking for them, remember how I said the magazines are over here, the guns are over there? Well, we found one of the piles. So, here we go. And I know there's guys listening that bought a bunch of these back in the early 90s. uh... these things went cheap there were no mags available in fact they were down to eighty nine dollars apiece as a giveaway they came with one magazine so for those of you have those guns in the cash a well the magazines finally caught up how do you like that guys so again that's e dash circle ink dot com go to magazines go to pistol magazines scroll down through or you can do a search by going to RPM106, that is the item number. RPM106, these are Hungarian high power 9, P9R 9mm magazines. They are $11.65 a piece. They don't tell me what the capacity is. They should be 15 shot. But we'll have to find out if they're 14s, 15s or 10s. I think we need to do that, but I will do that, I promise, tomorrow. Only because I really wouldn't care. For $12 apiece, I'd buy a pile of them. Seriously, considering the price of the weapon, as I pointed out a minute ago here, they were cheap. In fact, let's go back to that real quick, just to give you an idea. $250 apiece for the pistol, which is a pretty reasonable price for a 9mm staggered. It's a single action, not double, always remember that. These are the Browning High Power, the original configuration, but in this case the Hungarian solution. And again, $250 apiece. Item number is GUN411. one of my friends was asking about what was available and I'm going to tell him to buy this. I'm serious. He was looking for, looking at Tokarev's. Tokarev's are running $200 to $250 a piece. An ammunition in the 760 by 25 has become tougher to get. So the 9mm for him would be a good choice but this is a better choice. There's a pile of mags here in Michigan that are high power mags but the FEG mags In this case, this will work out really well for the price. I've got to double check. I'll cross reference it. And they've got the Israeli Kareem's too. So we'll find out for sure. What's going with what and I will cross reference that but you might want to check it out give them a call find out more about the weapon 610-250-3960 to see how many they have in stock if you're interested in more than one. I will point out the more you buy from Sarco typically the cheaper things get. You know like everything else they list guys they're kind of a jobber so if you need more than one Browning high power might want to look at that you know what I mean. It would be a solution to the problem. And the biggest problem has been affordable pistols. By the way, high points are creeping up towards the $200 mark, if everybody hasn't noticed that. And they're only about $20 away in most cases. They're about $180 to $170 to $180 is what they've been going for. Now as little as $160. But the average, and I've been keeping track of this, they're now creeping towards the $200 mark also. Which means there's not a whole lot out there of anything for $100 less Maybe you're lucky and can find something locally and I'll be quite honest if you find a nice 38 special revolver or a 357 revolver for about a hundred to 150 buy it buy it Yeah, you're not losing anything and that's a great hand cannon and I don't care what anybody says about 38 special You don't want to get shot with it and I'll teach you how to shoot like I said crotch crotch crotch crotch crotch defendable as a rock. That's right. Plus when you're done you can beat them with it. Don't throw it at them. Beat them with it and reload. Anyway, a couple of other things here real quick. Again, I want to reinforce. Guys, we've got a farmer here. He's not the only one, but we've got a farmer here who's being attacked because of his pigs. You all heard about it? BakersGreenAcres.com. BakersGreenAcres.com. Go to the webpage, read through the scroll, go back through it, take a look at what they have been talking about. Also, he has a series of excellent videos which are follow-ups that are a way for you to compress the information to teach somebody real quick what has been going on. Number one, the DNR went out and actually went to all of his customers and bad mouthed him. Now, the fact that these pigs in government, which give pigs a bad name that are real pigs, pigs are two steps above DNR personnel or any government agency for that matter. Real pigs, you know real heritage pigs are cool pigs. They look cool. They're hippy pigs. You haven't seen a heritage pig. They're hippy pigs long-haired things Yeah, long-haired hippy hippy type pig, but anyway also really good eating and if you watch all the videos You'll find out more about why it is they attack him. It's because of the product very high standard very high quality. Not to be confused with the garbage, the shysters, kosher mafia pushes out of Toronto and shytown. Okay? Where those pigs, the Yohudi trash, are trying to sell you swill and they consider you the pigs. Okay? So as it is, excellent pork products, but here's a kicker. We got a whole bunch of people here in Michigan. Food prices are going up. Now, since we've got a farmer that needs our help and we can buy the product for as good as any price you can find in the stores, how about you all get together and buy a pig or a cow or a chicken from bakersgreenacres.com? I am serious as the day is long. I've always heard everybody lamenting, why isn't somebody standing up? Well, this guy is. I'll ask the next question, why isn't everybody standing up to help him out? Best way to help him out? Buy his product. And by the way, I think you'll really like, if you take a look at some of this, I was just watching some of the stuff he was doing with some of the Italian recipes, and it's like I'm getting hungry. Watching some of the stuff he's putting together and knowing how they cook, you know, what this stuff goes into, it's like, oh man. So again, they also have chickens, yes they do have cows, and yes they do sell them, and you know what? If you get a bunch of your people together, you guys can butcher the cow or the pig right there. I guarantee he has all the facilities there to do it. You can do it yourself and it will be a good lesson learned because you are going to be doing this a lot more in the future. So it will be a good thing to learn now. How do you like that? You get yourself a class from a person who is producing five star restaurant stock. Kind of nice. I'd say you can't beat that one kids. Again, bakersgreenacres.com, www.bakersgreenacres.com. www.bakersgreenacres.com. Why should we do this? Because we know the government has been lying on this man. If nothing else, remember that people. You all hate that when you see these pieces of trash and these rubber-lit pieces of scum lying and backstabbing people. Here is a chance to counter that. In fact, I was going to do it today and I was like, hi! I need to talk to you. I was talking about this pig thing in Michigan. Tell me about these pigs. Oh, they're bad and they got this. Really? Sounds like I need to buy some. Thank you very much. My basic rule is if I hear a government employee flapping one way, the basic rule is go on the other. So your foul mouthing of this individual is the seal of approval. How can I tell it's good? Because the DNR is lying. We all know what kind of swine they are. They give swine a bad name and I hate to say that. But these are the other kind. These are the Ute trash. We know they lie. They say they have the right to come on your land for any reason they choose to pour out. They need fertilizer for the corn. That's okay. Come on down. Up in that area you got sandy soil. You know what I mean? We need fertilizer. Yeah, why don't you try that. Come on down. Anyway, we have a lot of work ahead of us, but as it is, we can do this now for all you friends. Pass the word. Let's get this organized. A lot of people out there listening that are from all points of the compass in Michigan, get your friends and family together. Let's support BakersGreenAcres.com in a way that will make you happy and fill the freezer, or fill the refrigerator, and in the process, fill your belly with good warmly stuff. So, other than that, another thing, freezedryguy.com, freezedryguy.com, want to remind everybody we had a heads up on this? freezedryguy.com just got in the latest batch of lerps, freeze dried long range reconnaissance patrol rations slash winter rations. That's really not what I'm telling you about right now. Because he got the latest batch in, the two menus that are left are on sale from the last batch. Now go to FreezeDryGuy.com, FreezeDryGuy.com, FreezeDryGuy.com, go to Bakers and Grenakers for the pigs, and the chickens, and the cows. If you need rations for your combat kit, which all of you do, remember these are considered winter rations also. Go to freezedryguy.com, then go to monthly specials. That's the quickest way to find what we're talking about. Two things that are there. Number one, he's got a six pack of legumes of beans, six pack of number 10 cans for a really great price. They're not dried, those are freeze dried. And I'll tell you the one that really makes me wish I could jump on this right away, which I've got to talk to Nancy tomorrow about, two of those cans are lima beans. Guys, lima beans are one of the best field rations you can get hold of in the legume range, in the bean category. Take a look at the price of them. You will figure out why. The food value is many fold of what all of the other beans are typically. The food volume also. Lima beans and ham used to be in the old sea rations, middle courses. They kind of faded out towards the last cycle before they went to MREs. Every once in a while it was still in the menu group. You could get lima beans and ham. If I could trade out for that, I would. Other people didn't like it, which is fantastic. What they don't like, I do. Look at that. Everybody's happy. They get what they want. I get what I want. We're all smiling. Okay? Now the other thing is there are two menus. Eggs and ham and eggs and bacon in the lerps. And they're about, oh, they're about, oh, what I think, one third off in price. Which you can't beat. Actually a little more than one third off. The regular LIRP is $150 a case. I believe it's about $93 a case, and the more you buy, the cheaper they get. So take a look at that. See if it's in your wallet. If it's within your wallet, I don't care. With me? A case of all the same? Am I eating? Yes. Does it taste good? Yes. Do I care if I eat three mils a day of it? No. That's just me. If you think you need a select menu, go buy another case of something and mix them up. OK. That's you. But I would highly recommend taking advantage of the two sales that are there. Those beans are a great buy, especially for you people looking for long-term storage. Freeze Dry can sit there on the shelf and stare at you for decades and decades and decades, and we really don't know what its shelf life is. They really don't. As long as the can is not compromised, they'll be there staring at you forever. The other thing though are those lirps and those are freeze dried too. They are freeze dried lirps slash winter rations. Again go to freezedryguy.com then go to monthly specials. It's right at the top on the left hand side. Don, anything else jump in there please. I know we got a little bit of time. Hey Bart. Oh, call her and jump in there. Who do we have? Hey JC again. I was just curious, how many meals is that for that case? I believe there's 20 in a case. Low pressions are hard to find. I used to use them and you can't beat them as compact as it gets. The thing is that he gets every year so far, he has bought the overrun for the year. Apparently he got the overrun. He didn't get the overrun for last year. He got the overrun for 2011. He just got the overrun for 2013. He bid on it, got it, so now it's in stock. He has them in stock so you can see what the rest of his menus are. He's got all the other regular menus that are available. So for anybody out there looking for regular lerps, that is the other option. But I get the ones that are on sale. That way you can afford more for less, you know, for the money spent. And if you go to monthly specials, I'm going there right now. And you got the bean bowl out. Pardon the word play there. That's not enough. He put it there. I didn't. It says Bean Bull Out. OK, $97 a case, but the more you buy, the cheaper those get. The two that they have that are on sale are the Western Eggs with Ham and the Scrambled Eggs with Bacon. And if it's off, forgive me. Hold on here. Wait a minute. Double check. $113 a case if you buy one to three. There we go. So it's $113. So that's about a third off. a little under a third off of the price of the regular lerps. But they also said that was 20 meals? Yeah, 20 meals to a case and 20 pouches per case ready to go. It's weird because they're showing a mix both in brown and in white in the same case. I guess that's how they're packing them. They're checkerboarding. They're packing like the old lerp rations where it was basically a block? Yeah, it's a block of food. That's what it is. Okay. Once we used to get... Go ahead. You basically, you know, we eat the live, not live to eat, and that's basically the whole point. Yeah, oh yeah, but this is good food. I mean, number one, I'm going to tell you right now, every time we talk, lerps. Well, I made, there's two times that I made the mistake to count on two people, the Navy and the Air Force, and I learned never to count on either one of them. Okay, those are the two times we starved, but the Air Force, what was notorious is we got, what we had, we got one part of our ration in. They were lerps and it was about two in the morning by the time we finally got the food that we whatever it is zero the drag ashore and What would get me about this is we had to go one pouch for three every three people, okay? Guys, it was the chip. It was the poker chips and beef. Okay, though. It was peeps potato slices and chipped beef or actually hamburgers what it was and Oh man, when we put the hot water in that, because we hadn't eaten for two days, we were nibbling on cardboard, just to kind of keep things happy. And nibbling on anything else, but it was bitter rotten weather. and we got some water boiling and a couple of canteen cups and threw that in there. When that water hit that and it started to reprocess and it started to suck that moisture in and vapor, oh man! I can picture that, it is like steak and... Every meal of feast. Oh yes, that right now... What kind of a field beef hash was it? Huh? No, this is the poker chips. This is when they were in the banana-type packaging, like a meatloaf. A larger pack. This is the middle rations. These were the ones that were about 12 inches long, although the foil extended a little bit, and they were round rather than square. It looks like the new ones are more like in a square pouch. Because the problem was the wiener works. Yeah, the problem with getting down into the pouches was again, you know, well you were supposed to peel them back, but you know, again, three guys ate out of that and although we, you know, again, you all wanted to eat more. That pouch was big enough that everybody got something to at least keep themselves satisfied You know at least you know top stuff off so you weren't chewing on somebody's toenails You know what I mean? But when I get one o'clock in the morning two o'clock by the time we got all the food distributed Man, I'll never forget that we added the water that food you could smell it's like that like the He was ahead of me, go Ranger Rod. He hid that bag of licorice. The air drop was 14 miles down range. We didn't find that until we had a helicopter. Meanwhile, we were going across the dunes and he opened up that bag of licorice and it was like a zombie movie. You could smell that just as plain as it was right in front of me. He was a mile in front. He was the point man. He was up front of me. I could see him across the dunes. I saw him move his hand towards his mouth. I started looking around and everybody sensed that just exactly the way I did. You start seeing the double up on the step. You see the strawberries. By the way, let's not forget, they call it strawberry, but it ain't really strawberry. You know what I mean? It's just red. But it was one of those things where, again, we're carrying 20 pounds of wet, maybe 30 pounds of extra water because we've been raining nonstop. We got all the garbage we've got to carry out, two rolls of commo wire. I'm carrying out demolition equipment for one of the other guys because it was all the stuff they dropped in, so we had to distribute about another 20 pounds for everybody. Plus, we're carrying out all of our combat load, plus our rucksacks. We didn't have Alice back then. We actually were using the Type 43 Mountain Sack. It was just bogged. We were in sand on top of everything else. Oh, that's a great workout for the whole body. And then to smell that, actually, we get them way up front like that is what drove everybody towards the LZ. That's what's funny in hell. So people, I'm warning you right now, it's like put some food away. I'm serious, put food away. And even then, remember, beware of the zombies, because all you have to do, if you aren't paying attention when you... It's better if it was bland, to be quite honest. Everybody goes, well, sea rations are kind of bland. Thank God. I always told guys that, I mean, one of the nice things about the rope rations, I like the different ones, the beef action, the spaghetti. But the problem was, like you said, you had to put the water in and let it take a while. So we would go ahead and put boiling water in it. roll it back down. We had claymore bags sewed on the top of our rocks. You just put that in there and let it sit. Half hour, 45 minutes later, you'd stop and actually eat. But like you said, if one, if somebody didn't seal it correctly, it got it all in their rock. And two, if they didn't seal it correctly, everybody had to smell it. Every second is counted then, guys. The stomach will let you know. Thank you, sir. And again, that's freezedryguy.com. They have spaghetti, meat and tray, the chili mac with beef, turkey, tetrzini, Mexican rice and chicken, spicy oriental, beef stew, granola bars are irrelevant. They have granola and blueberry breakfast packs. Oh boy. And there's 60 of those pouches per case. The two sale items are the scrambled egg and bacon and the Western eggs and the ham. So it wouldn't make any difference to me. I'd grab either one because they're cheaper. When they run out of those, then I'd buy the other ones. Now, he isn't offering one of any of the mixed cases like he did before. I notice that. Maybe he'll offer those progressively. But right now, it's solid pack single item. So it's going to be a case of the spaghetti or a case of the chili mac or a case of the turkey, tetrazzini or the Mexican rice with chicken. Now, progressively some of these are more expensive too, I've noticed. So beware of there. The spicy oriental chicken is $180 and the beef stew and tray is $188. Personally, I'll suffer with the other ones for less. And again, I'll take the egg omelet for the moment because it's cheapest. Another thing here too is mix and match. Remember when we were talking about rehydrating the old trick with the rice? You want wide mouth short thermoses and you can do rehydrate like Uncle Ben's rice. You can rehydrate that while you're in motion. That's another trick that's true because your body moving agitates and moves the product which is also a good thing. It actually agitates and it's like a dishwasher or actually more like a clothing washer. So, you can actually throw some extra volume in with this. If you're going to be eating out of one pouch with two people or three people, throw some extra volume in there and then you can and everybody will be satisfied. It's all kinds of tricks here, guys. If you've got freeze-dried food or if you've got dried foods, canned foods, whatever you've got, learn to cook with it, learn to be creative so you can mix up the meals. I guarantee you wouldn't recognize that Western Eggs and Ham menu once we were in the field. There are a dozen different ways that can be mixed up with other things that may work. Again, rice, barley, all these things, beans, all these things can be thrown in there. Again, the idea is that you're going to eat well, it's going to taste good, everybody's going to be warm, fuzzy and happy. Most important is that it fills the hole. That's the issue. Last but not least, anything else jump it off up there, please. Along the same thought line, there might be times when you don't want to cook something. You did hear mentioning smell. in this hour. Smell can carry for miles. Smell can give your position away. If that happens and you know lunchtime, dinner time, breakfast everybody's just around you know having a good old time because as you point out Mark food is good when you're hungry. Sometimes you might want to have things on hand that you can eat that need no preparation. Don't want to create a smell. Actually, one of the good things there right now, we just bought a couple packs that were marked down over at Big Lots. The Uncle Ben's and there's other companies that are doing the packets of rice that are like single servings. And yeah, they're bland rice in many cases, guys. Or they're minimal spiced rice that are designed so you throw that down, you take your other pouch with whatever you got and goodies that you make, or you're chopping up fresh food. You throw that on top of the rice, you're ready to go, and it only takes a few minutes. The cool thing is that the way that stuff is, it's like a wafer. It's kind of like the old rice pouches the Vietnamese and the Chinese used, where, you know, rice balls. And instead of busting that open and putting it in the pan, you reach into the pouch, you break off a thumb and a finger's worth, a pinch, put it in your mouth and let it melt. Thank you, Don. Again, that's the easiest way, guys. You don't draw a lot of attention. It doesn't smell like anything special, but you're throwing calories and carbohydrates in there. Yup. It's not increasing your risk. Yup, exactly. And we have to take that into consideration. This is the real world where things do smell. It's not the movies where they just don't seem to notice those zombies coming up behind them and stinking for a year. God bless the public. Death to the new world order.
