Mark Koernke opened the January 16, 2014 morning broadcast with personal anecdotes about immigration paperwork in South America before transitioning into preparedness and communications infrastructure. He promoted a Kenwood TS-8 radio transceiver drawing (donation line 888-747-1968), discussed battery sourcing from bgmicro.com (CR123A batteries at $7.50 for ten), and advertised Aries Armor polymer 80% AR-15 lower receivers and accessories. The bulk of the show focused on detailed guidance for setting up listening posts and observation posts (LPOPs) with integrated radio, security monitoring, and computer workstations, emphasizing proper ergonomic placement of equipment, layered security monitoring, and signal communications protocols. Koernke also provided winter weather preparedness advice for various U.S. regions and discussed surplus equipment sourcing strategies.
because of the accident I was restricted from leaving the country. So when I went, for all that stuff I was taken care of, thank goodness, last year, I go down there to Buenos Aires to go over to Uruguay. They make me pay a late fee, because I don't have a stamp on a new passport. I've never been anywhere, because I couldn't travel with it. So I had to pay this late fee, and I don't care about the 300 pesos necessarily, that's about $30 in the black market exchange rate. But I don't want the mark on my record because a couple of those and they don't like them. And so it's not that I mind the currency that I had to pay, but I just want this thing on the record cleared up. So I had to go down and talk to the immigration guy here who I've had dealings with in the past, real nice guy named Horatio. And so I went in December and Horatio was on vacation. And so the guy said, well, you're back in something meaty. You didn't speak any English. And so I came back there. Christmas and he wasn't there. So I didn't want to talk to the other guy. I wanted to talk to Horatio because he speaks a little English too. And I can butcher the language much more comfortably with him. And so today I decide, well, it's Monday. I'm going to go back. I didn't get to do it last week. I'm going to go back down there and get that done today. So that's how I started my day and ended up down there for at least an hour. met a really, really nice translator that happened by upon the street when we were sitting out on a smoker pipe and he was smoking a cigarette and we were outside talking and she walked by and ends up in a translator and does translations for the Supreme Court of our province, the state supreme court up there. And she said, well, I've spent time in the United States. And I said, well, where did you... ...the figure walked in through the mist with a flintlock in it. His clothes were torn and dirty as he stood here by my bed. He took off his three cornered hat and speaking loadedly said, we've fought a revolution to secure our liberty. We wrote the Constitution as a shield from tyranny. For future generations, this legacy we gave. In this, the freedoms we secured for you, we hoped you'd always keep. The tyrant's labored endlessly while your parents were asleep. Your freedom's gone, your courage lost, you're no more than a slave. In this, the land of the free and home of the brave. You buy permits to travel and permits to own a gun. Permits to start a business or to build a place for one. On land that you believe you own, you pay a yearly rent. Although you have no voice in saying how the money's spent. Your children must attend a school that doesn't educate. And your Christian values can't be taught, according to the state. You read about the current use in a regulated press. and you pay a tax you do not owe to please the IRS. Your money is no longer made of silver nor of gold. You trade your wealth for paper so your life can be controlled. You pay for crimes that make our nation turn from God and shame. You've taken Satan's number, you've traded in your name, you've given government control to those who do you harm so they could burn down churches and feedly farm. and keep our country deep in death. Put men of God in jail, harass your fellow countrymen while corrupted courts prevail. Your public servants don't uphold the solemn oaths they've sworn. And your daughters, visitors, send artillery, and support ensures, and send your sons to slaughter fighting other people's wars. Can you regain the freedoms for which we fought and died? Or don't you have the courage or the faith to stand with pride? And are there no more values for which you'll fight to save? Send the Constitution to Supreme Law to plan, preserve our great republic and each god-given right. As I awoke, he vanished in the midst for whence he came. His words were true, we are free, but we have ourselves to blame. For even now, as tyrants trample each god-given right, we only watch and tremble, too afraid to stand and fight. If he stood by your bedside to dream while you were asleep and wondered what remains of the freedoms he fought to keep, what would be your answer? He called out from the grave. This is the hour of the morning, Intelligence Report. I'm Mark Carkey. One day closer to victory for all of our brothers and sisters. Behind the lines and occupied territories west, southwest, east. Micro Effect Network in the morning. Also on AM and FM Micro stations, CB base stations and Ultra Net Technologies east and west of the Mississippi along with Alaska. We're in the homework network on the eastern seaboard from the top of Maine to the bottom of Florida. From the bottom of Florida across the arc of the Gulf of Mexico headed Louisiana, Mississippi, Texas, Oklahoma, big chunk of Nebraska, whole bunch of Wyoming to include both the third, the fifth, the and our friends in the state of Colorado. On the left, that's right, we're talking about the state of Jefferson out there, a shining beacon of light. Here we have all the rest of the occupation, a dark, that's right, the stench, the excrement of Feinsteinism. Turning back to the east, leaving the diaper stain of brown occupation, California's Soviet Socialist Democracy, the CSSD behind, the planes quickly picking up speed because we got a jump across that extra wide Mississippi right now look at all that fresh water look at all that wealth of course the Gulf of Mexico is showing the salty pisiment yeah landing in the smokies with the restaurant crews, grandma teams, okay teams, and the Mavel Grandma Consortium of retired telecommunications. We're like we're a million petticoat junction operators the ability to continue to function everything else is offline which is what everybody is lamenting about what do we do Well, we have to start turning in and finding our strength. How about that? What does that sound like? That sounds like a good idea. What do we do? We work as thinking logical adult human beings and we start to the problem. Just simply how it's going to work is man up. Kids time to man up. It is the 16th of January. It is the year of open Fabian socialist and Soviet socialist occupation of America with the K2000 and 14 Old Earth Calendar or Mayan. Looking pretty good out there in general. It's a gray winter day here in Michigan. Southeastern Michigan of course, southeastern to central. Probably is much different up north, a little colder as you can imagine, farther up via into the snow belt you get. That's what we call it here in Michigan. You get up to the UP where then it's like, oh my goodness, I found Alaska. stay up there for a pretty period of time because yeah it's awfully superior but it is a beautiful typical more snow we did get some little tiny flurries with it went around us or it went beyond us I don't know what happened and typically it kind of splits the snow belt got some and Lake Erie got some Lake Erie got some chances are well our friends listening there in Cleveland yeah I know you get dumped on again and what happens so we got a little of that anyway it is a it's to the drawing which is tomorrow bumble ball that's right we've got that can work transfer coming up and for all of you out there please take time to call in or go to the micro effect dot com the micro effect dot com the micro effect dot com w w w dot the micro effect dot com and go to donate key and five dollars a kitchen to draw on five names in the hat another name in the hat which I highly recommend this is an opportunity to donate to the micro effect and in the process benefit you get one of these transceivers more on that in a minute as far as how I can figure things by the way and you've got yourself a pretty decent little system and I actually got yourself a major system something that will talk to the planet and listen in quite nicely for intermediate to long range it can be used for short range too but where I wear the niche for this transceiver is medium to long range signal communications that fit that niche, especially as a ham operator. So, and that doesn't mean you have to have a license. You don't have to have a license to buy radio equipment or even plug it in, listen to it, and you're smart after a while, you can even talk. But what you do is plug in, don't hook up the mic, listen to what the natives are doing, and find out how the natives work. How's that sound? Once you know what everybody's doing, then you get on down the road and up on the mic and talking to people around the planet. So again, it's only a matter of time, but PICS is the most important thing there. So you and itself, our friends actually, the machine that has been detailed, kind of like detailing a 57 Chevy only, this ain't that old, guys. But again, it's a Kenwood TS8 drawing upon, in other words, Joe and the crew on the rock will be drawing the names out of the hat for the drawing tomorrow. So we'll have more on that. I need you to donate 888-747-1968. Please take the time to call in wherever you are in the country. And we'll make sure that we get your name out of the slips of paper and into the... What else do we have? One, two, three, oh, a couple other... Before I forget, and I don't wanna... I am harping for a reason. Gmicro.com, bgmicro.com. A lot of you guys have camera equipment, night vision technology, laser technology, and a lot of you have those really ultra bright, burn your eyeballs out if you stare at it long enough, flashlight slash blinky illuminators for just distracting, distorting and disorienting somebody if it's attached to your weapon. All of these use batteries of some kind. Some use standard AA, some use AAA, some use watch batteries, rechargeable. It varies depending on what it is, how big and small it is. But a lot of the units out there use the CR123A battery, the CA123A battery. I noticed a couple of our friends in the chat room also showed where there were some other locations for this battery for a good price. But this is a really good price at $10 for $7.50. These are Panasonic. There's nothing wrong with them. They're a serviceable battery equipment. They're to 2020. They're industrial surplus. And again, go to www.bgmicro.com. Again, that's bgmicro.com. Plug in. And when you get there, go to Batteries and Battery Accessories. Now when you get there, micro.com, and you go to Battery Accessories. Batteries and Battery Accessories. On that front page, make sure you scroll down to the second tier, and one, two, three, fourth item in, there it is, the CR123A battery by Panasonic. Ten for $7.50. item number is B.A.T. 1-1-1-3. Are there 99 cents a piece if you buy one? Why would you do that? Or you buy 10 for $7.50 a piece and buy them for 75 cents a piece. And if you have a piece of equipment that takes care, you've got a handful of chiclets to go into the kit, the equipment for the weapon system when the time comes for the support. So take the time, pick them up, and put them in the kit. And if you're really smart, might want to call and say, Maybe you've got like a platoon of people or a whole bunch of people that have night vision and lasers and flashlights that use this particular battery. What say you call them and see about making a bigger purchase on a larger lump? You might even get a little better price. And every penny you save is another penny you can spend towards ammunition, magazines, or whatever else you need. So again, check it out. It's bgmicro.com, bgmicro.com. And right there on the front page, without going into the subdivisions in the middle of the page, column fourth over from the left the CR 123a battery by Panasonic ten for seven dollars and fifty cents BAT 1113 solutions not just lamenting no lamenting no you know we have to actually but the Russians or the Chinese will have blah blah blah well we'll be peeling the stuff off the Chinese corpses along with the Russian corpses if they decide to go crazy in America and or whoever else are sent as foreclosure officers we don't have a problem that we can deal with it But the big thing is pay attention to the environment and make sure you understand the technology you do have. We need to make sure we can keep it running. And this is for the price of 10 batteries for 7. If you were looking at normal retail circles, you'd have about 2.0. This is a good buy. Because they're running about 327 to 527 apiece. And that varies depending upon what quality and where you are in the country. It's a variable market and they will charge what the market will bear. It's that simple. So again, that was something I want to make sure we get it out until we get them all off the shelf and they're all ours. We're going to get them all. Well, you guys are having a little bit. We're going to see them piled up here, but you will. Also, again, a reminder that ariesarmor.com, www.ariesarmor.com. Those of you who haven't done this air 15s for your 510 program, www.aresa.com. Time go there and that has homemade guns. It's right there. There's Aries Armor homemade guns, Nylen Gear, Kydex homemade guns, and then go down to Polymer 80% load kits, especially for you guys. Well, we've already found the 394 of the black ones. We only got 47 of the pink ones left. They're out of stock of the tan again. That's been happening a lot. You guys got all the OD green ones. You buggers. Actually, that's pretty good. As it is, again, go to the site, pick yourself an AR lower of $50. It's not finished, so it's not a firearm, no paperwork. And you can either build yourself a hell of an AR-15 and .22 caliber with all those nice uppers that will slap right out of this receiver. Build a .223 AR-15, take your pick, it's up to you. Another option for this, and this is something I haven't talked about in a while, a lot of you guys bought extra upper receivers, didn't you? Did you buy a 545x39 upper receiver as a separate unit? Another $50 for that lower unfinished along with the internal parts and a buttstock. Guys, you could have a complete lower to throw on that extra upper receiver you have laying there. Now you have two complete rifles at 545x39 and your 223 upper, both of them are in service. You use the upper, the lower you already have, along with that upper you bought that's a spare for it, the one that already came with, and then take the spare that's in 5.4.5x39, put it on this Polymer receiver, and you got yourself two rifles now in the service. Anytime you do want to switch over to your tooth aches about, that's not a problem. But if you needed an extra rifle to go pop, pop, boom, boom, well, one of these Polymer receivers makes that happen real quick. I don't think they'll really care what color it is. It could be pink, 545 by 39, but I think they take one of the tactical colors. They also have, of course, the zombie polymer lowers, so that's another consideration. Take a look at the, again, the site, there's a lot of other stuff available, but the big savings, $50 for each polymer lower, 80% unfinished receiver does not have any paperwork on it. We either finish one of those back up, air 15 uppers you got laying around in other words rather than having it just sitting there waiting to change out you could actually put it on an extemperate pattern like this put it on a temporary receiver for you and if you want to switch it over your primary take the primary if you run out of ammo for it down there the plastic receiver and put it on standby when you finally get some more ammunition for whichever one both of them could be in service how you like that one And for the 22s, hey guys, come on, the 22 upper with all the standard air stuff fits with it. Remember, it walks right up to a lower standard air 15, the 80% polymer to complement that, and you have no paperwork on that gun at all. 22 upper, no paperwork. 80% lower, no paperwork. All the other parts, pick them up as you can. The internals and the pistol cripper in one kit. The buttstock, if you're going to do the .22, I just do the cheapest plastic air 15 foldable stock that's available. It's the cheapest way to do it fast. Make sure you get buffer, buffer spring and all that ready to go, boom, hop in and hey, you got yourself another weapon kids, congratulations. I'd say that's a real good idea. Anyway, give it to AriesArmor.com, www.arnes, A-R-M-O-R dot com and don't forget, we've got that during the day. for that Kenwood. Yes, I'll be harping on that all through the day. 888-747-1968, 888-747-1968, get into the drawing and you'll have a radio rig on the shelf ready to go. Now how would I set this up? Some people are like, well, first of all guys, understand that this is about the size of half, this radio is about half the size of a medium briefcase like we used to have back in the 70s. You don't see briefcases as much as you used to. But it's about half the size. It's like you cut a briefcase right up the middle. And it's got a handle, so you briefcase handle on it. In other words, it's portable, which is kind of cool. Sometimes they had facial plates. Other times they did not, depending on the model, I didn't check on that. A lot of the units had a dog type, had two little dog catches, one on each end of the narrow end of the case for the radio. Actually, on the face of the radio, left and right on the narrow sides. And you'd have a fascia case that would go over top of everything and lock in place to protect the dials and the connectors and the, you know, again, all of the bells and whistles. And there you go. She's a transport box. The unit itself would be at the center of my work. If I were going to be setting up a radio station, or radio, an LPOP slash a listing post observation post electronic, This radio would be on the front of the bench, centered kind of like you're doing with a computer. Of course, if you're going to incorporate a computer system as part of your LPOP, then I would put it to the left. And that would make it center on the table surface itself. Now, in addition to that, like Ken would, I would also have marine channel radio right above in the next station. You can stack them top to bottom or left to right depending on what you're using for shelving or work racks. And then beyond that, 2 meter and 6 meter. Now the advantage is all of this equipment can be sitting literally rack to the left of the computer station. You would have your telephone and signal communications separate between. Max machines are dinosaur. Yes, they're wonderfully dinosaur. And in fact, they work just fine with packet radio also, with telephone communications. Oh, you didn't think about that. Using a fax machine for packet radio, You had to figure that one out that basically the Faxkit radio machine with a printer on board you go through your radio system to send a Faxkit packet station and it prints in Wow! That's like the old teletype system for you guys who ran the old rat rigs. Except it's not the big bulky heavy industrial machine that they had which by the way they never really broke. Those suckers were monstrous. But the old teletype machines, chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk ch And if they are using smaller, more sophisticated, everything's all in a couple of small boxes, much tinier than what I was just describing, because they're not dash mounted or base station radios per se, they're just the new version of it and they're very portable. If they do that, typically you may have one, two, or three rigs still, smaller, handheld, and you have a splitter designed to share radio antennas that are mounted on the roof of the vehicle or obviously mounted on the mast outside. The biggest thing about smaller units is whether or not they have enough energy to push up a big line. So typically those smaller units are more ideally suited to mobile capability, mobile potential. And again, they'll push down to coax just fine and get the signal out of the wire without any problem. Now, again, with a workstation like this that Kenwood is going to be sitting as the centerpiece, because it's my long range communication system, it would be literally at my left hand control. Now if you want to do the righty tighty lefty loosey thing so to speak and others put on the right hand side, taking a consideration your left hand is doing all of the operating work, your right hand is typically handling the mic or handling controls etc etc just something to think about there as far as what it is where you're getting the noise from. Depending on what it is you're using for a receiver unit. It was a headset set which I highly recommend having on standby. but i will also again be uh... set up with each of the week of the rigs with their own microphone uh... some people slave several systems through the same sound box certainly can have a uh... uh... voice box slash a speaker uh... setup to be able to know why everybody to listen with to what's going on and that is a good idea with the uh... kenwood most certainly because that's long-range communications a lot of people who want to be listening in because it is a from the distance everybody's going, oh my god, we're isolated. Yeah, well what's your point? Hunting fathers were relatively isolated, did a good job of fighting the war by staying focused on the mission and being adult. Fire a call radio to let me know that we need to be beating the snot out of somebody and kill them all until they're all gone from this country. What's your point? Well, no, no, if I don't get a warm fuzzy on me, or pat on the back of the rug, I'll be doomed. Well, grow up, become an adult, figure out, hey, you know what, we're still fighting? keep fighting until you kill all in your area then go find the others kill them all in that area and just keep cleaning the place up until there's none left to kill or to drive out of the land. What's your point? If I don't hear the warm fuzzy, we're being an adult and we're going to work at being an adult. But it is nice to have instantaneous signal communications and to be able to tweak and work the equipment accordingly because of strategic threats as we talked about yesterday mostly again with The nuclear biological and chemical threat issue with effective intelligence collection, in other words, can map out the threat. And we can do it in more than one area. In other words, we have backups to backups to backups. We have different parts of the operation that are constantly monitoring and evaluating and actually mapping out the threat. But outside of an area of operation or area of activity where, say, a nuclear, a biological, or a chemical threat is, Obviously everybody else needs to be paying attention so they know what to avoid. Some common sense to having the signal communications for instantaneous communications. Alert, alert, alert. Attention, attention, attention. Nuclear. Okay. And remember, nuclear threat, biological threat, and chemical threat as far as radio communications go. If there is an actual threat, a deployment, a device, something happening, then interrupting all signal communications is policy so that there is an instant signal return. Everybody is going to get the same information. Again, it's a who, what, where, when scenario. So you're going to give all the data, the material and information you have, no filling in the blanks. If it's blank, it's blank. If you don't have the information, it's not known at this time. Not known at this time, not known at this time. Everybody understand how that works? not known at this time rule. Again, the idea is to progress on precise information. For those people who don't understand some of what I'm talking about, find Rogers-Rangers rules of combat. Rogers-Rangers rules. That is still the most applicable short list for infantry operations, but there's a couple things in there that really apply to a lot of other components of what we're talking about. One of them has to do with intelligence. And it's done in a very, shall we say, rustic format, but it still comes down to, hey, if you don't know, you don't know. and make sure that you have made people understand that. In other words, don't try to fill in the blank. Well, I don't have anything, and it sounds really stupid like I'm not, I don't know what I'm talking about. Well, we can surmise, we can come up with a summary afterwards. In other words, as we go through a process, we can evaluate things. We can look at a percentage of information and know the pattern of fact, you know, know the pattern of a scientific formula, we can pretty well come up with an end solution. We know what's going to happen. But in the initial collection phase, when we have data coming in or a data report is being given, there's no surmising, there's no second guessing. The idea is the data, the information itself, the raw material must be collected so that then it can be mapped out. In fact, it may be the very first part of the jigsaw puzzle. So again, the first part of the formula. It is obvious we get flash. you know large glow on the horizon of the year there's an epicenter event and there's a shockwave well you know again once you get more and more information within the short period time uh... again with flash broadcasting you know the old map of nuclear attack released a major explosion very quickly to get really good at it as matter of fact because you like to pen just something we highly recommend what they were at the bottom of the hour we're here to be with the bottom of the hour break already so everybody out there thursday and you are listening to the Intel report live but before you go anywhere if you're gonna leave today you could pick up the phone 888-747-1968-4768 that's 88747 1968 give them a call in there at the office if the phone $5 gets you into the drawing with five flips of paper with your name on it and for every additional dollar you donate well that's right you've got more You're going to be in there to a greater degree more extensively. That means that you are going to be able to participate and perhaps, well, you'll have a knock at the door or there'll be a UPS guy that catches you in the front yard or whoever and he's going to have a box for you. And the box is going to be a very good thing. You're going to be very, very happy when the time comes. I'm so happy. Yes, and once you plug everything in and you get a chance to inspect the technology, then you can go from there. Again, we are at the bottom of the hour. It should be here at the break music coming up any moment now. And I know that we will because it is, it fails, it's amazing what Mark can do with the miracle of electronic technology. You just never know. a way to keep myself entertained here for a moment. For everybody, by the way, also pay attention on the roads if you're south of Michigan. Understand we do have some interesting conditions out there. That happens with regard to the roads. So, on the highways this morning, watch for a little here and there. What we're going to do, I have an ambition to listen to some really cool vocals this morning. So, Sorry about that. We got some really funky stuff going on here and Let's see if plug in what we need to plug in real quick. You never know. It's not a happy place sometimes. It marks if you do three things at once. So anyway other information real quick Don't forget that we also have castle communications available through the micro effect You can go to the webpage castle communications. Go to the link. We have a lot of really cool stuff that is out there available through our micro FM providers. If you are a micro FM rebroadcaster, which you are this morning, if you're listening, you may be driving into work and listening to one of our micros that are out there, including the seven sisters, the big valleys in Colorado. The way that happened is everybody collects all the technology. There's some really cool stuff that is, is it possible for you to become a micro FM or micro AM radio station and I would highly recommend that when you do that take the time plug into the system and so to speak. Single communications weapon really cool. A micro process with micro FM is very narrow, very specific. There we go. I'll tell you what I'm gonna do. We're gonna go to break. I can do this eventually. The machine is not wanting to cooperate. First of all, grab that cup of coffee, smell, taste and if I gotta do everything I can. Why it is! through once a while and that was Nightwish Sleeping Sun if you look for a version of it. In this case that one is done by an independent girl who has a fantastic voice which is obvious there. Nightwish Sleeping Sun covered by ink, let's see ink, alanation, chelanation, there we go, got that right, and chelanation, really cool. Oh it is a great day here in Michigan and not a surprise it is winter so again act according if you're going to take off this morning, grab a cold weather gear, make sure everything is squared away. It's a drive time! This morning for everybody way out west, I don't care even if you're over there in Arizona. Arizona has winter stationed down there, kids. Arizona, New Mexico, you know what? You get out there at night. And I know if you watch, let me give you an example. Winter out west, of course, is, first of all, you're acclimated to that warmness. And then it drops down during the winter. So it really does get colder by so many degrees over what you're normally used to. But also, the deserts, when the sun goes down, the heat leaves fast. And if you're watching those World War II documentaries about like the Africa Corps, this is me out there in the desert. You ever notice that while they're out there in the desert, you all know that it's drier to popcorn fart and it is hot, carrying those big long trench coats. Yeah, during the day they still haven't rolled up or they got them with them. I mean, you notice if they're infantry, they're rolled up and they're on their gear or they're hanging off their gear while they're moving. And later on you'll notice it's headed towards sundown and you'll see pictures of guys with full-sized wool trench coats on, etc, etc. Why do you think that's like that? You think they just couldn't find anything else to wear? Huh? All the heat leaves and it just drops right down into you, shall we say the basement real quick and remember we said about exposure. It doesn't take very much from really warm, you know, to semi-warm and kill somebody, let alone cold. Okay, remember body temperature in the drop significant loss in core temperature Progressively put you into a whole catatonic pit and eventually shut system down So again the dirt well in the desert I won't need all that I'm gonna need shorts leisure It's well of course the Sun might go to death, but and they still they did have you'll notice they had shorts But at night even if they had them shorts on which they probably didn't usually change out, but if they did they made a point of uh... smuggling into that blanket that wool blanket sometimes cut as a poncho uh... flash set up a uh... other times uh... really lucky we still have the trench coat with them and they uh... equipped accordingly guys so just something to think about there uh... again uh... for here in the north there are some pretty good by still like a lot of people cleared out the mickey mouse boots that's not a surprise that's an expected thing I kind of told you about that. Eventually, as people got a real winter taste here and weren't listening to the mantra of the global warming scammers, then they bought what they needed and they've got it on the shelf and it's ready to rock and roll. And in this case, keeping the free from being chipped out of the boots or from freezing in your clothing, make sure that again, you have layers on top of everything else, not just one big layer. That works, that's a good idea. But remember that, By having layers, you're able to open up ventilate and retain heat more efficiently. This is especially critical. T-shirt, long choms or sweatshirt, whatever you want to do. Work shirt, ideally, or a regular dress shirt or utility shirt, fatigue shirt is a good idea before you put the sweats or the sweater on. And then, of course, you've got your outer coat layer. so that will be insulated pack or it can be simply a shell. Remember there's a lot of decent weaves out there that are tight, that are very tight. In fact they're what's called windlass. They will not let wind through, they will not let air through, they aren't going to leak easily. That by itself is significant when it comes to protecting yourself from this kind of weather. The Brits make a bunch of these, actually they make both the desert pattern, those have just now come out in the DPM many of them brand new. You can buy a windproof battle jacket right now that's in DPM desert, the Browns and the Tans. And it's pretty reasonable pricing. They're brand new out of the box and these are full of parka-type. They go down to the knee between them, the lower end of the thigh, all the way down to the knee depending on who you are. I highly recommend you take a look at that one. In addition, there's a whole bunch of other pieces of equipment there matching up with that that are offering leg and lower body protection too. In fact the same basic material in pants. Parkas have nice hanging points, usually even have the button points, and you can find their mated mittens or their mated bulk gloves. They're designed to be taken off and hung as needed so you don't just set them down. And that's not a bad idea, okay? Just something to think about there. solutions, not just lamenting about the problems, we're looking at the cold weather, we've got to put the right tools in the toolbox, get them and have them on the shelf and ready to use. You don't wait until the last minute on this. Right now, here's the thing. While obviously you're going to need winter gear, if you didn't get it, but you're now paying a different price for it because there's not a lot of stuff that's like on a super sale for winter gear, they're moving that marketing stuff quite easily. Summer gear is the cheapie right now. In fact, there's a lot of stuff out there. Summer weight gear you can get for a song and a dance or a little of nothing. The time to buy that. Top camouflage, ripstop, fatigues and OD green, ripstop desert tan uniforms. The three-colored desert light duty clothing is right now. Talk about cheap wearing and cheap gear. I will remind you too that again, there are environments all over this country where those color shade ranges work perfectly. You need to again understand and know your area of operation, pick from the fits it, embrace it accordingly so it's not that difficult a process. The other thing is footwear. Surplus footwear, there's a couple companies that were the biggest in the United States guys. They no longer even do footwear for all practical purposes. Availability is so low by comparison to what we have seen in the past. that many of the companies simply don't have enough available to merit or didn't have enough of an access point to merit doing what they did do in the past. Some of these companies had a full selection of footwear in military oxfords, all types. The material resource, the surplus, isn't of the same quality, of the same spec. In many cases they decided they didn't want to have to worry about the complaints and the other problems going along with it. The newer stuff going into nylons and going into plastics, it's up and down as to whether or not you're actually getting what was supposed to be produced or something that was slid in as a second production marketer and may have been, shall we say, not to spec. I've talked to a lot of the guys that used to deal in boots that have been in surplus for 40 and 50 years. In fact their sons are taking over the industry. The dads have been in business since all the way back in World War II getting up into their 90s. And our dads pretty well handed the business over. The sons are in their 60s and 70s. There's a lot of discussion on this subject in the surplus industry. What wasn't expected is that e-tools and shovels and technology like Boots would be in the situation in the surplus. It was assumed something at least, you know, again, they try to maintain the quality. Well, the mistake there was that when certain people take over your supply chain, the quality goes down, but the price doesn't change. Boy, I'm telling you, that's exactly what transpired. So don't be surprised. Again, look around, check to see what's in the closeouts and clearance sections. I can't emphasize that enough. There are a lot of good items. It's just that there to a company that may not have a lot of what's, you know, that particular item that matches the market. The way that happens typically is a lot of these companies buy surplus material themselves. They wanted something that they got out of that big lot of like say 10, 15, or 20 bins and they ended up with some extra in the odd man out stuff. In fact, more than just a little extra. They may have had to take a whole pallet bin full of stuff that they don't normally use in order for them to or they normally would market in other ways. They had to get the other 19 or 20 bins of stuff they really, really, really, really wanted. So you benefit because it's not that it's useless material, it's just odd for the company that has it. And this is true even for industrial science companies, etc. They do this all the time. They'll buy surplus because they see that there's an opportunity. They go to the same place everybody else does with regard to the auctions. so again watch the clearance close-outs and super special level of super special effect of her the super close-out only got to take this from a special words as an item or twenty-six item or not to have i love them and when they're you know you can buy a little twenty years thirty for the price of what you buy one for like the batteries we've been talking about thing here about uh... The signal communications wall, if you're going to do an operating desk, the reason that I would vary where the Kenwood is sitting is depending upon whether or not you're going to go into audio, visual, and medium, or if you are using security systems. One of the other things about LPOPs, about listing post observation posts, LPOPs, if it's a signals LPOP, Remember that typically you gang up things on single operators because the single communications are monitored constantly. Now, let me give you a little hint. And you've seen this as the most common mistake made with people who decide to install security. I don't need you playing solitaire on the computer. I don't need you playing a video game on the computer. I need you for the one hour or two hours that you may be on the rig while you're rotating to another person coming in an hour or two hours. I need you focusing on the radios and on the security monitors. So unlike most of what you would see if you're building up a little V type workstation or a desk workstation, the security monitors are dead center in front of you. not behind you, not above and over your eyes, normal contact point. All of your security monitors should be right in front of the operator. That is their life. If you've bothered to put security systems up but you don't make them convenient for use, then what happens is they become bumps in a log. A certain motion might draw people's attention. But unfortunately, because of the nature of typically where the cameras are mounted and the activity that it may be monitoring constantly, the problem is that people forget to observe. In fact, they become complacent because of the idea that the camera always will be there and it becomes part of the background. Instead, the monitor should be at eye level with the person sitting at the chair. There can be equipment below it. There can be equipment above it. Radio equipment technology should be left and right. The computer can be as far as controls go. It can be right there at your fingertips in the center of the station. But the monitor for that will be off to the side. Notice I didn't say share the monitor, the computer monitor for doing computer work. Security monitors. there's a reason share time with me of the security cameras are put in for a reason they allow me to have additional entries monitoring you don't throw on their drones sentries there we go to that make you feel more excited eyeball sentries instead of cameras like all the cameras are going on but if i call them almost sentries who will go to the country five exciting or six exciting growth entries out there and the cameras whether in place Well, there are seven more infantry eyeballs all focused to one individual. Now, one individual who also has signal communications at his or her fingertips, which allows you to pass on information very quickly in a garrison or at a location of any kind where you have operations like this. Now, the monitors, the other thing about this is that, guys, I like to use, give an example, For security monitors, the small 5-inch televisions that are out there right now that everybody's throwing away. They're not the flat screen, they're the cathode ray tube. The cool thing is, they're freer cheap. You either get them for free or you get them for $1 or $2 apiece at the sale. So you have a little bank of those, and you still have plenty of room for all kinds of other material or another bank of them. Now you can do a flat screen now too. There are little flat screens out there that are so stupid cheap China Sport, they're almost throw away. So there's another solution. the objective behind this is that you are able to monitor all of them and each one has its own eyeball plate uh... share time to be done you can slay that you can bring over to a bigger screen limited whatever you want to do very depending upon the technology and how much you've got to spend i don't think that if you were to have thousands and thousands of dollars to uh... spend on zoom technology on the existing cameras but Remember that with a bigger screen you get a little more detail. So you can have an option screen and a switcher to move an image off a particular piece of equipment simply by hitting a button and it'll take it over to a bigger flat screen. Okay, there you go, you've got a little more detail. Most important, it gives you time to, again, quickly assess and send warning. But security monitors are not to be up above where you have to bend your head and look up. If you have to bend your head and look up people, it's not natural. Think about it. It might be in your upper peripheral vision, but again, you want people focusing on this. And a way to do is creating a band of monitors that are at eyeball level means that the individual can easily monitor and see what's going on as part of their center of attention. The radio equipment and the other stuff is all on standby right there. Your computer keyboard will be right below those monitors. The primary monitor for that can be set off left or right of the security monitor system you've set up or it can be a smaller screen. Remember, it doesn't have to be the biggest screen you can find. You can also use a smaller screen since mostly what you'll be doing is texting, right? If you're going to be doing... Oh, that's right, I hate that. Yeah, well, you know, texting. If we're going to be texting or whatever, you just want to be able to see words because you're not going to be playing solitaire. You're not going to be doing any pretty pictures on that monitor for the most part. Right? So it minimized that and maximized the rest of the technology. Again, the radios typically, not the way I would station them, the radios will be mostly as far as your radio bank would be to the left. To the right, if you're going to expand upon this radio of your radio system, your radio support system, then you can have additional equipment to the right of your monitor bank or the center of your workstation. But the other thing there is a data bank as far as Material and information, guidelines, e-com context. Your electronic data is to the left. Your written data and material information data and guidelines are to the right. Explain it in other words. Data streaming right to the eyeball. Earball, let's put it this way. Earball slash ear communications to your left. mechanical guidelines to your right. You grab a binder, it's the com-com binder, you lay it down in front of you, you have a state, you have the workstation with the ability to accommodate that workbook. You open up the workbook to the report page and you go step by step through the reporting process. Now don't forget you got a phone system in here somewhere, you're going to have phones, and a ground line phone would be preferred and still having a cell phone and a handheld security walkie-talkie of whatever type. as part of the integrated system of sitting at this workstation now the reason is for we may have a base radio there but if you have to move or for whatever reason you have to abandon there's all kinds of bad things that can happen and they can happen quickly that handheld radio puts the radio operator in the grid very quickly to be able to directly transfer information in a mobile pattern cell phone common sense same thing you grab the two mobile units to continue to use them to the best of your ability the uh... landline for itself. That's again one of the many ways that while there's still a single communications grid in operation, you are able to receive utilizing the existing landline process, the landline system that's there. So we highly recommend that. Again, you take a look at, I'm probably going to have to map this out for everybody. I've got all the equipment, in fact, I've been sorting out, I'm going to be building another backup unit here pretty quick. I've been sorting out all of this equipment for quite some time, in recent months here. to put another unit like this together. And I think what we'll do is this next week or two, we'll put these up as still pictures just to give you a better idea of what we're talking about. I've got to go pick up another workstation and back to something really intricate. I always love intricate. But it really will serve our purpose. The old computer station desk that everybody's... It's a passé to have one of those now. Oh, you're one of those peasants that has one of those archaic, really well built L-type workstations or an inch and a corner thing with multiple shelves, CD racks. Grab it if somebody wants to get rid of it for free or you'll get rid of it for cheap. Grab it. That's your radio station workstation right there guys with all those shelves CD racks and everything. Yeah, that's your micro FM broadcasting station that you work it out, right? Anyway, you're the music we're at the top of the hour God bless the Republic Jeff the new world order Michelle prevail ladies and gentlemen the Empire's on the run We're in a march.
