It really doesn't you know Yeah, the function yeah, it kind of throws things off a little bit look there's a hip I told you I should level that out for the speed So anyway the interesting thing is comparable but also Like most of the other new core basey 60s and 70s the one under part of the underground complex is I don't know it's either 44 46 typically it's 44 raised deep now when we say story you got to remember these were part of the uh... supply and support uh... but i've had a severe war space i stood out guys and i bought tonnage out of right right from the underground complex radio equipment and p r c eight nine's work hands when they came up and off or a m g r c one twenty five that's what they got right patterson will mark it would go to the skyscraper yes implement the demarcation what tells you how many floors right there in the control while cool What are these all from? Well, if you take a look, Escoda. search engines for satellite imagery uh... you might want to check them out to people find this really cool other pictures now we almost bought uh... what we were doing for looking for a place joe for liberty for radio for actually back in the day republic radio international are are either both of all these others if you go just to be uh... east and a little south east of the uh... runways there you'll see all the rest of the base to include you know the commissary Well, we looked at the Officers Club because the Officers Club, brand new. All these operations were built brand new. The next year, they found the base. They spent close to $5 billion on the warehouse for the commissary because the largest population of veterans retired in the United States around Osco to apparently for whatever scold ugly, they didn't want these people up there in any kind of force. They didn't want the base active. So this beautiful double AAA, AAA complex, was sold for pennies well sulfurage which is a dinosaur has a very poorly uh... cited uh... runway by comparison see that the meeting about this runway is whenever you do fly-ups you go right over the lake take a look at the map guys back up and look at us go to and then go down take a look at sulfurage nasa go to put it in a much better location in the north because before defending the country and i really talk about world war three again i think joe uh... yeah yeah so well If you look at it strategically, Escoda as an active base was bigger, had more modern technology across the board. Brand new construction. Guys, they sold the Officers Club for like $80,000. This thing was like, had little fountain, little studios in its gattle. Kitchen, cafeteria, restaurant, you know, his bar. Officers Clubs are not, are have wet bars, guys, regular bars. The theater was brand new. They just built it and finished it only like eight months earlier. and then sold it. Now granted you gotta remember something about buying things from the government when you're on military land. You get it for whatever price and you get to use it for as long as you want. Yeah, that's why it's not... That's what happens. Yeah. Hey, thanks for keeping the building up. By the way, you know, don't let your artist hit the door on the way out. Well, you know, that's something that I think... I did a lot of film watching over the weekend about all the vacant houses. A lot of stuff in Detroit, Flint, Michigan, that kind of thing. Some of the stuff that's there is such a crying thing. It's kind of hard to swallow because you're looking at, okay, we've got people sleeping in the streets and this, that and the other. Here they have these massive complexes that are just Nothing in it. The sad part I get though is the people that are living on the street. Instead of taking care of, you know, out of a break into a building, you're going to reside there for a while, for as long as you can. And trash in the place while they're there. It doesn't make any sense. But, hell, I can't solve all the problems in the world. the amount of empty houses and buildings and stuff, you know, all across the country. There are places even now, Joe, where I could take you. But it's like from 19... now it's from like 1992, 1993 when NAFTA and GAT hit. They didn't even... they did the company and the basic team and literally it's from the 80s and from the early 90s. They're archaeological days. You could literally walk in and stand and you'd have to do some maintenance. the doors, chained the fences, walked away. Right behind, right in everybody's face, all over the place. The only problem is in Michigan or in the upper states, guys, winter is going to catch up with you. Taking care of it. Eventually there's a spot where something finally compromises. Where I found like that, it was like something at a World War, I mean the whole hardware literally had been locked up. It was about the size of a pharmacy, guys. And everything inside was still on the racks, but the roof had fallen in because of snow. Well, I think it has to be continually maintenance to, you know, being used, you know, that kind of thing. It's, well, all you can sit back and say, well, you know, what a waste. You know, people in America, people all around the world, for that matter, I'm sure they have similar things, you know, in other countries. But, you know, all this, of course, like in, like in Michigan, where you are, Mark. all the things that politicians were going to do and how wonderful it was going to be and you know people making $75 an hour in the unions and all this and now you're looking at the end result. What's amazing to me and people you really ought to listen to this. You know they're talking about, okay we're skitting off all the buildings. Guess what they're going to put in their place. Guess what they're talking about. Building farms. Now imagine that for a second. Hey, we're going to take out the city and put put the farms back in What does that tell you? Somebody's finally wiping up man, you know put farms back in the place where you know where housing developments used to be and start farming the land. Anything you can do to put it back to use. They're knocking down houses and things because the property is actually worth less with a ragged old house that's been all torn down, wire stripped out of it, so it's better to get rid of the house. On the other side of the coin, again, you have politicians involved. Here we have all these people wandering around the streets. Shopping carts and sleeping in under cart or in cardboard boxes. It just doesn't make any sense Shopping cart connoisseurs, you know, I got one from Cunningham's it closed down in 83. It's a classic man as opposed to yours yours is what I'll do Walmart plastic Will you be like the guy that owns the 57 Chevy when right? That's right. Like dude, I got a man you got one of those. Yeah. Yeah Well, I saw one on eBay the other day, but I couldn't afford it. Yeah, the thing about this is that, you know, the bad part of shape. See if you can find any imagery of Cleveland, Ohio. Cleveland, Ohio is in the exact same shape that Detroit's in, but nobody talks about it. It's like Cleveland doesn't even exist. You know, these jokes, like with Drew Carey and all that. Guys, you know, Detroit for years has been, I pointed that out even back in the 90s, uh... it there's the term would have to be dot you know usually traditionally there was always maintenance it was done and upkeep that was done guys no matter where you go uh... one building downtown detroit next to the synops got building right across from a kitty court uh... the bus stops got building is a lot of law buildings one of the dark places of the planet you know evil okay when you hear about the but nothing like one of my friends that used to work in detroit was in the in the uh... course he goes the Penobscot, right? Like it's evil, okay? One of the other buildings like sheds away from it actually. It was, it went, everybody who owned it, Joe, went bankrupt. So bankrupt, here's the thing, this is what we talk about, the dinosaur and dead weight. There was a company doing construction on it when we went in today, you know, to visit somebody up on, I think it was like the 12th, 13th floor, 15th floor, whatever it was. Anyway, we were going up and everything's dusty. I mean, Well, I'm talking to one of the guys there, and he goes, yeah, they foreclosed on it like eight years ago, and somebody else, we think, got it. And then they kind of disappeared after two years. And so somebody else has it, and they've kind of disappeared. And well, who's paying for all this? He goes, well, we really don't know, but the money just kind of shows up. So we're just following the old instructions from like eight years ago. And it's like, well, shouldn't this construction all have been done by anyone? He goes, oh, no. No, every once in a while we have to kind of freeze and everybody goes home and then they figure out who's kind of in charge and nobody really knows. We were still going by the names from eight years ago. Seven, eight or nine regime changes since then. It's like, it's just chugging along by just absolute total bureaucratic confusion. The whole place is like that. But these are the places that are still standing. Worse, because the others, the reason they, they, nobody has a clue. It's like, well, do you really gotta run this ship? Ship! uh... well i thought we were on a bridge what what ship you know you should be running this or managing it like that you would think everybody else this is like everything else we've talked about you know how would you say the same thing like waltz of some of the preserved movies well nobody was because everybody was too busy you know eat drinking and being married nobody was w or pain and the same is true with the choice if you want to any of the the core of it is there But it's all on the outside, it's dusty, ill-kept, not maintained. On the inside, it's dusty and minimally maintained. Go down to the carpet, you'll see where you're at. Well, you see, that's the problem with corporations. Nobody owns it. Or nobody has a clue. But even now, nobody owns it. Exactly. And when the CEO left, okay, who's building, who's in charge, who's going to clean up this mess? Right. And it's just luck there. Well the carpenters, the plumbers, I was talking to a plasterer and he goes like, oh yeah, I've been working here for eight years now. And it's like, well normally this would be like done in a year and a half. No it's wouldn't it? He goes, yeah. He goes, but it's just plugging along. We're at the top, Mark. Somebody's making some money. Well don't forget the good old Bill Clinton dumped $10 billion with no accountability at EECL each year for how many years in there and that's where the money went. Out the door and threw it into the wind. Came an island, never got to spend on what it was supposed to. God bless the republic. Death to the new world order.
