Mark Koernke and Don Betcher discussed preparedness for Christmas, emphasizing weapons, ammunition, magazines, and tactical gear as appropriate gifts. They covered night vision technology options ranging from first to third generation devices with pricing, airsoft training tools as cost-effective alternatives to live fire practice, and reloading components and techniques. Don Betcher promoted his 1776 Men magazine series on handgun fundamentals and reloading manuals. The hosts discussed ammunition scarcity solutions including the .22 Hornet cartridge as an alternative to .22 rimfire, improvisation techniques for casting bullets with gas checks, and the importance of maintaining inventory of scrap materials for future component fabrication. They announced a broadcast test of a new randomized music playlist on Live 365 to address delisting problems.

A figure walked him through the mist with a flintlock in his hand. His clothes were torn and dirty as he stood there by my bed. He took off his three-cornered hat, and speaking low to me, he said, We fought a revolution to secure our liberty. We wrote the Constitution as a shield from tyranny. For future generations, this legacy we gave. In this, the land of the free and home of the brave. The freedoms we secured for you we hoped you'd always keep. The tyrants labored endlessly while your parents were asleep. Your freedom's gone, your courage lost, you're no more than a slave. In this the land of the free and home of the brave. You buy permits to travel and permits to own a gun. Permits to start a business or to build a place for one. On land that you believe you own, you pay a yearly rent. Although you have no voice in saying how the money is spent, your children must attend a school that doesn't educate, and your Christian values can't be taught according to the state. You read about the current news in a regulated press, and you pay a tax you do not owe to please the IRS. Your money is no longer made of silver nor of gold. You trade your wealth for paper so your life can be controlled. You pay for crimes that make our nation turn from God and shame. You've taken Satan's number. You've traded in your name. You've given government control to those who do you harm so they could burn down churches and seize the family farm and keep our country deep in debt. Put men of God in jail. Harash your fellow countrymen while corrupted courts prevail. Your public servants don't uphold the solemn oaths they've sworn. and your daughters visit doctors so their children will be. Your leaders send artillery and guns to foreign shores and send your sons to slaughter fighting other people's wars. Can you regain the freedoms for which we fought and died? Or don't you have the courage or the faith to stand with pride? And are there no more values for which you'll fight to save? Or do you wish your children to live in fear and be a slave? O sons of the Republic, arise, take a stand, defend the Constitution, the Supreme Law of the land, preserve our great Republic and each God given right, and pray to God to keep the torch of freedom burning bright. As I awoke, he'd vanished in the mist for whence he came. His words were true, we are not free, but we have ourselves to blame. For even now as tyrants trample each God given right we only watch and tremble too afraid to stand and fight If he stood by your bedside in a dream while you were asleep and wondered what remains of the freedoms he fought to keep What would be your answer if he called out from the grave? Dill the land of the free. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the evening intelligence report. I'm R. Krunke. And I'm Don Betcher. one day closer to victory for all of our brothers and sisters both on and behind the lines in occupied territories west, east, south, and north. Well, ladies and gentlemen, you were listening to us on Liberty3radio.4mg.com. We're on AM&FM microstations, CB base stations, and ultra net technologies east and west of the Mississippi along with Alaska. We're in the hallmark network on the eastern seaboard from the top of Maine to the bottom of Florida, from the bottom of Florida across the arc of the Gulf of Mexico, headed Louisiana, Mississippi, Texas, Oklahoma, big chunk of Nebraska, a whole bunch of Wyoming to include both 3rd and 5th and our friends in the recall state of Colorado. Waving to the left coast where we have a shining gem As part of the countermeasures to what's going on in the California Soviet Socialist democracy, the state of Jefferson in motion. Turning back to the East, we sweep across the plains, leap over the burgeoning banks of the Mississippi, and land in the Smokies slash the Blue Ridge where the restaurant crews, grandma teams, OK teams, and the Ma Bell Grammar Consortium of retired telecommunications workers bring us the Golden Spike. Many hands make for light work a million petticoat junctions, The ability to continue to function when everything else is offline and shut down will still be there. Don, it's cold, it's clear. Those waves of gray and waves of clear kind of spread out and became Real clear you don't need a flashlight outside right now guys down. What's it like in your neck of the woods? What is this special day today? So there are intermittent clouds this evening sun's gone down so tonight on this the 11th day of December you're of our Lord 2013 and you're right if you got a good eye and a good you know piece of glass on top of your gun you can probably do some shooting tonight without using night vision at least until the The moon goes down because the snow offers that good jump back up of light. But it is a particular day, Mark. With that in mind, a magazine in almost the palm of the hand but up there in the fingers and the 1911 in the other hand, we just introduced the magazine to the magazine well just like that. Man, oh man, we just touched slide release and there's one in the chamber. I really like that a whole lot because it works now just like John Moses Browning intended. and I drop that magazine out because I want to top it off so the bullet goes down and back cartridge. Bullets are what goes down range, but most people call them bullets into the clip. With a clip in my right hand and a gun in my left hand, the clip goes back in the clip hole and now we can tell everybody it is weapons once they have the perimeter is secure and you know there's plenty more where that came from. And that means we can offer equal opportunity, coercive force, the ability to continue to function and fight when everything else is offline. If you're going to put something under the Christmas tree, it better be a preparedness item this year, guys, no matter what. Rifle, shotgun, pistol, ammunition, magazines, spare parts, cleaning kits. There's something most people don't think about, and you can find some really nice Even custom deluxe cleaning kits that are wooden fixtures, brass, they really look neat. They are almost a work of art unto themselves. Well, actually they are for doing a lot of work. Art has nothing to do with it, unless your name is Art. But they are really cool looking and there is another thing to do when you go into the tree. Don't forget obvious preparedness items, combat gear, load bearing equipment. Maybe you're going to buy someone a whole new molly system. There you go. And body armor doesn't hurt. And in fact, you still have time. It is the 11th today. If you call up tomorrow to ApexGunParts.com, remember they've got the police outer vest, threat level 2A, B, and some of them are even C. You also have the undercover armor in different colors. You give them a call, find out. They've got it under, I think it's tactical miscellaneous or miscellaneous gear. but they still have them listed and there are some in stock. You guys bought up a big chunk of them but there are still some there and they're in really nice shape. At the very least for $30 to $40 for a complete system you're looking at being able to give your children and your wife because yes they do have women's armor, undercover armor, very good idea. But that's something you can put under the tree still for a reasonable price. Once you got it, remember if they grow out of it for whatever reason, although these are adult size and a little small, a little big depending on which way you want to go, but you can always pass them on to the next generation. Make sure the next one coming up has a piece of body armor and this will take care of the problem. A number of other things. Mark, it's not threat level four! Yeah, but at least your hind end is not hanging out in the breeze and it's amazing how we live with threat level 2, A, B, and C for a long time and then threat level 3 and... Or threat level 0. Yeah, dragon scale. Yeah, or oh yeah, double-aught. Oh, oh, that's... Oh, oh, here it comes. That was the double-aught armor, guys. Uh-oh, maybe I better duck. Yeah, you still should duck anyway. Just because you have body armor, there is no such thing as a bulletproof vest. That is a lie, just like bulletproof glass. I explained to somebody years ago when we were first in one of the banks that we worked for, we were banking trust. And it was funny to know because as I pointed out to somebody, I said, hey guys, I said, if anything happens, you are going to duck, right? Oh no, we don't have to do that. It's bulletproof. I brought him over to the little tag that was on the brand new window there. I said, show me anywhere on this glass where it says it's bulletproof. I said, what do you mean? I said, well, let's put it this way. The one time you figure it's going to stop something is the one time somebody shows up with something and goes right through that like butter. Hey, let's reinforce that thought. dive watches in the world. No matter how much money you spend on them, under that bezel that might take 100 atmospheres, it's going to say, it's going to say, water resistant. It's not going to say waterproof. Same thought line, different application, but there's no such thing as a waterproof watch or a bulletproof vest. It's manmade. Something can go wrong. Let's assume the worst and we won't be disappointed. Still follow through. The idea is that if you just catch that odd thing and you weren't prepared, hopefully it's going to do a lot better job than your bare butt height out there. That's the whole point. Oh yeah, that's why I went back to that. I didn't want us to walk away from that, you guys. A piece of rock from a bullet that misses you. might break a rib, might crack a rib. You know how, have you ever had a cracked rib? Have you ever played billiards? Oh. You see, that'll explain to you the basic physics. Just because that rock was sitting still, well when that object that was traveling 2,700 feet per second hit it, what's that equal and opposite reaction? Yup. Yeah, see that rock will kill you just as dead given the opportunity. That was something that was discussed quite a bit extensively when we were out on the range and the idea was, well, you knock the target over but it was with debris from in front of the target. Well, if it's strong enough to do that, then chances are it perforated whatever it would have perforated whoever was standing there. So that's a kill. That's acceptable. At least a knockdown. The idea is you hit it. You're supposed to hit it. Step one, hit it. How well you do is purely a fickle finger of fate. The important thing is first, you hit it. That's what you're aiming for. And you are aiming for that reason. A couple of things here too, again with Christmas guys, stocking stuffers. Hands full of ammunition, small magazines, all kinds of fun stuff. Let's not forget Airsoft by the way. Thank you for your vote of confidence guys. I brought up on the air the Airsoft station Boneyard. You guys cleared out the parts that we mentioned which by the way was the reason for me bringing that up. There were some really cheap Airsoft there. for muscle memory training aids. They had an AK for about $6, $7. They had an AR for a 6. They had a couple of different handguns. Looks like everybody pretty well picked them up, which is cool. That's what I was hoping for. And I'm pretty sure it was about the time we mentioned it. So yes, anybody else could be buying those. And as cheap as these things were, I couldn't get them myself. I'd just hate to see anybody pass these up as not a friendly. So, our people took care of that. Remember guys that for basic instruction, 99% of what you're going to do up to including your first round live fire can be done first with airsoft. And that's why I recommend it. One cool thing, you've got a weapon that feels the right way. It's got the right weight, it's got the right texture. It is the proper size. The individual puts it to their shoulder. You can instruct them on cheek weld, shoulder weld, controlling the weapon, but you don't have to worry about somebody getting shot. It doesn't mean we shouldn't expect responsibility from our students, but in Phase 1 we especially have the opportunity here to train extensively without seeing anybody getting hurt in any way, shape or form. So that's an opportunity. Again, for $6.50 at an AR-15, a CAR-15, it's gone. Anyway, if you scroll down you'll find all kinds of cool stuff there that is available. Bolt guns, 45s, they've got a couple different models there. Wheel guns in Airsoft, there you go. If you want to revolve, don't worry guys, they've got Airsoft revolvers now. In fact, what they've done is come full circle because years ago Daisy actually did a couple of revolver airsoft pistols. and the revolver, you know, the cylinder turns, cock the weapon, double action, single action, four inch barrel magnums, six inch barrel, five inch barrel victory models, several different model versions of the same basic pistol, and both in earlier World War II pattern and in modern guns. Guys, we're now to the point where they've got them again. The cartridge, they actually have individual cartridges. They shoot one round for each round in the cylinder. They do everything they're supposed to do, which means they are a high reinforcing tool for all of you who are trying to get pistol time and range timing. You know what the difference is? No sound. See, that's another thing we've got to take into consideration why we need active airsoft rifles and pistols, because How are you going to train the many, many people who are not up to speed? Live fire is going to be a problem. It draws attention. And will come a time when it does nothing but waste ammunition. Exactly. And for all of you out there, that's exactly the point, Don. We can conserve ammo, but we can put people on the range and we can get positive feedback. And then for a minimal cycling time to get them onto the live fire cycle, it's not complicated. But 99.9% of your activity, again, everybody's worried about OPSEC, operational security. Well, with Airsoft, there's no way for anybody to know how many hours of range time you've put in. The issue is whether or not you take that range time seriously. That's the key. Let's go to the complete other end of the scale because we've brought this measure to the hour a number of times over the years, but not as of late. Remember we've had that man up from Texas, Mr. Tub, and there's a range over there in New Mexico named after his father, if I remember rightly. Now, this guy, he's won that Palma thing there about as many times as most people have. fingers and thumbs. So you got to think that he knows what he's doing when it comes to shooting. Now he goes to rifle shoots and just cleans clocks because that's what he is. He's a world champion, Mr. David Tubb. Now, when he goes to the places and shoots against the shotgunners and the handgunners and the rifleers, the riflemen, all at one time, he says to me, and he said this on the air, If you go into the archives way long time ago, we'll have to bring him back up before the summer comes. But he says, man, I beat them guys up with my rifle and I do real, real good with my handgun. But them guys with them shotguns that shoot 100,000 shells a year, it's hard to beat them guys. Now that's the other end of the scale compared to, well, we're going to learn how to shoot. But, you know, can you afford 100,000 rounds a year, 100,000 shotgun cartridges a year to get really, really good? But you can get really good with Airsoft because all of the basics are there, aren't they Mark? In fact, there is even Airsoft shotgun. The only difference is, again guys, less recoil. Less recoil, that's right. But you actually have a wide range of pump guns, gas guns, all mimics, you know, of a particular weapon. Hey, you know how I simulate recoil marks sometimes, in particular with the A, the big gun, the 50, I'll put my hand on somebody's shoulder and turn my shoulder a little bit. and tell them that's what to expect. When I do that with the 50 because of the huge muzzle brake, they don't believe me. But you can shoulder a shotgun and if it's not made out of plastic, you can put a piece of 2x4 right on the end of that muzzle and you can hit the end of that muzzle like you're a hammer punch with the bottom of your hand and simulate recoil. This is what you will be This is the sensation that you will enjoy when you really fire this gun young soldier as long as it's not made out of plastic. We can get there a number of different ways can't we? Most of us are using your imagination a little bit. The big thing here is that most of the airsoft guys in this day and age You can spend any price you want, but for a reasonable amount of money you can get a complete metal airsoft weapon that simulates any of the weapons that you're familiar with and may probably use. Every variation on the AR-15 is presently built in ad nauseam in any color configuration, any barrel configuration, and you can't tell the difference even right up next to the weapon. other than the orange muzzle cap and most of those are changed to another color by people. And if they are, it's impossible. They're all metal. Everything's where it's supposed to be. The magazine releases are the same. Sites are the same. Any site you normally would use on a regular weapon can be mounted on an airsoft. So, there's no reason for you not to be recovering constantly and training constantly with the exact same optics, the exact same weapon system, virtually across the board. Everything you're going to be doing is reinforcing positive shooter skills. That's what you need over and over and over and over and over again. We can't stress that enough because it is especially critical right now. Again, the airsoft station and airsoft GI both have a whole bunch of odd things and special going on right now. Don, if you have the AK-47 or the RPK, there are a number of different specials that they have for the 100% realistic ad nauseam. I have an optimal training aid that can't really be beat and it's something put under the Christmas tree and I guess you want to worry about it going off there either. Oh, it's the king! Oh my god! It gets loaded! Not a big problem there. Anyway, other things to take into consideration. In fact, they're ticking down for Christmas in some cases. Just something to think about there. The sales for other items of course vary and as I pointed out I believe you guys cleared out all of the broken stock SKS's from Royal Tiger imports as far as I can see. Oh cool. Yeah, I wasn't able to call again. They were going to check but I believe that the $200 SKS's we cleaned them out and that's a cool thing our people got them. We were the ones that were mentioning them on the air and that's why they got to where they needed to be. Also, another thing, and again Don this is in line with what we were talking about with the night vision and you're going to be bringing it up again here in a minute because we're almost to the bottom of the hour but for everybody out there Dell dash ton or delton, your choice, tomato, tomato, okay? www.del-ton.com They have complete AR kits with everything except for the lower receiver. This is bolt carrier, charging handle, complete upper receiver assembled and test fired guys. All the internals, a buttstock system of whatever choice you want, barrel length of whichever choice you choose, $475 to $480 a piece. And the reason I bring this up, the receivers they're offering are all A3s. Now what this means, they're all flat tops, guys. So any optics, or if you want to do a pop-up iron sight, or if you do want to do an add-on carry handle, however you look at it, excuse me, what you need to do, is take the time to go to the web page but if you're going to invest in that you're going to be probably looking at optics for daylight operations and then you're going to be looking at night vision and again guys so the air fifteen because of the lightweight platform if you add additional optics and such not as big a deal for the shooter of remember that if you have a limited number of night vision devices you're going to be trading rifles off That's more common than you might think and in fact with specialized weapon systems in many cases You just put the other shooter behind the gun Everybody's given familiarization and depending upon who's on the watch they will be using that particular firearm as is The important thing is know who know where it is in the musical chair situation like that always remember where your weapon is oh yeah, you'll be trading off and carrying another man's rifle, but Most important is that again that night vision device or night vision devices are kept in service through the evening. It's not an I, I, I, me, me, me. If you're asleep and somebody else has that night vision device in the field operational, they're keeping you safe and alive. Yeah, let's do it like this. If you've got a piece of night vision in your group of say six people and you're the only piece and it's nighttime and you go to sleep with your night vision cuddled up right next to you, next to your rifle, how the hell can you go to sleep? everybody else is blind right now. Well maybe we should let them use that and that way I comfortably yeah I don't have to worry as much you see so that's a good idea and that's one of the things we need to take into consideration now night vision technology number one Don you have a number we need that too what can we put on that a three flat top AR 15 to see through the evening go ahead Oh hey, we can do that in multiple layers if you want to be that specific. We could go with the first generation gun sight. Hey, it'll live on top of your AR-10 so that .223 recoil, it's like, I'm happy to be here, kind of deal, you know. I'll put that in your mailbox for $429. We can go to a second generation, oh, that'll clamp right on the top of that one inch rail. It'll thumb screw down. And once you've got a zero and you remove the device, as long as you put it back in the same slots and You know, nobody's been playing with dials and such. You should be within an inch and a hundred yards. Now, again, $429 right in your mailbox and that device will also grab onto a 7.8s rail, a Weaver rail, but that's a Picatinny rail, a one inch rail on top of that M16 pattern type gun there. I enjoy doing that, Mark. If you want to go to a second generation device, the biggest step up in performance in light amplification is from first to second generation. First is the oldest. Actually, there's generation zero, which did not work without an emitter. So if you could look for that dinky little dot, it looks like somebody over there smoking a cigar at night. If you could see that, you knew where that shooter was, but it was not passive. Now, if you want to go to second generation, Again, we can take off your M16 and put on your AR10, but it will live for a good long time on top of that 223 recoil. I'll put that in your mailbox for $1,305. We could go up to third generation and now we're talking around somewhere I haven't third generation prices as of late but we're talking somewhere around 23 to 2500 dollars for a third generation device. That'll also be 308 capable. If you wanted to go to a third generation device that would be 50 caliber capable, we're talking around 3000 dollars there you guys. But if you want to do that in second generation, we're talking around, oh gee whiz, I think we're talking around the price of the top of the line I don't want to paint myself into a corner here, but we're talking about mid twos there. It might even be low twos. That's a specific body, and I haven't moved one of those in a while. Forgive me. I can offer a second generation gun sight that will live on top of a .50 caliber. Your Rock McMillan gun. Your gun from Ronnie Barrett. That near and dear to my heart. That AR-50 from Mark Westrom there from Armalite. a second generation gun sight on top of their green screen that won't fail from recoil. In fact, now we can put a piece of thermal on top of your 50 caliber that won't fail from recoil. If you want to, I can go on and on about this, but there's, you know, we've got other important things to do. So my phone number is 231-796-8458. There are three different gun sites mentioned right there. It will go on top of that M16 type pattern gun. Thank you, Mark. That is a really good price for a very fine BS&W. Also, I'd like to say that I published the first installment of a series that I'm starting on my 1776 Men magazine entitled, The Sense of Handgun 101, based on my 40 years. Go ahead, please. Tell everybody how to get there. How is this going to develop, please? My website again is www.1776men.com. It's an online magazine that I started a couple of months ago. I have several articles already posted on there. This is going to be a three-part series basically covering everything that a brand new person, and I know they're out there, people who are just, you might not even have even bought a gun yet, and that's the first part. The first installment is entitled choosing your weapon. And I go into the pros and cons of both semi-automatic, semi-auto pistols and revolvers. And then the second part is going to be basic training, and then the third part is going to be learning, drawing from a holster. And I decided to break this down into six parts because the whole series, just those three parts is about 6,000 words. Again, that's www.1776men.com, my online magazine. There are several other articles on there and there's also a link on my website to get to my homepage in case you're interested in ordering one or both of my books on reloading. Reloading the basics and reloading beyond the basics. Very good. And again, for everybody out there, take the time. The reloading, your basic reloading manual, of course, is available. Let's not forget, guys, for those of you who are just starting out and or have been doing this for quite some time, any time that we can accumulate reloading information in a text form, you want a hard copy. Why? Well, sometimes the batteries are going to be out. You can reload without electricity, guys. That's not a problem at all. That's what the ocular devices, the battlefield computer between the ears and your physical person can deal with. That's not a problem at all. But you've got to have the working knowledge at your fingertips and it's good to go through and help to have a primer for training others. It's good to have the text on the shelf ready to use. There's another reason why because sometimes we do things for years and years and if you throw me in the water, I'd remember how to swim or ride a bike. some other skills, you know, subsets and things like that. But when you reload numerous calibers or over time you have messed with different powder, and I don't say mess, experiment would be a better word to put there. Or, this is cheap, I'm going to try this for a while. That's kind of an experiment, isn't it? When you go back to try to remember some things and the whole world is completely different, Some of the things you remember might not be exactly right. And you know when you get in a tank or when you get in an airplane or a helicopter, there's generally a checklist, isn't there? Just so you do the right things at the right time. And reloading is a lot like that, isn't it Tim? The right things at the right time? Yes, it is. That's the reason why I recommend in my first book that anybody who is even just starting out, they should keep a log book. I have an 8.5x11 loose leaf notebook. That's my shooting log and it's got quite a few pages in it. I have dividers for all the different calipers that I load. I'd like to also say that in my second book, there is a lot of information in my second book. I have a whole chapter on my coding bullets. There are 14 different chapters, 100 pages in my second book, Reloading Beyond the Basics. I have one review posted on my website. As a matter of fact, it's from Jack Krieger, the owner of Krieger Barrels up in Germantown, Wisconsin. He is a personal friend of mine. He set up my books a couple of months ago and he wrote a review. I posted it on my website. If you want to review my books, all you have to do is send me and you can email the info at c-word-llc.com. That's the info. It's on my contact page on the website. And I will be more than happy to post any review of my books. Thank you. Very good. Thank you, sir. Thank you very much, Mark. Thank you, Tim. Another reminder again guys, bullets, brass, primers, those are other things that can go under the Christmas tree. Oh yeah. I say just keep buying and while everybody is lamenting about the flat line situation with regard to purchasing out there, there are a few areas where that's not the case and it's very obvious when you go to the different ammunition and weapons and components dealers out there that are moving stuff. Some items that are the most common have come back a little bit in inventory. A big chunk of what's out there, of course, is the odds and ends section. Even AmbleMan.com, as of just the last couple of days, has not recovered fully at any given point. They get a little bit in. It's kind of like the ocean, swells and a beach with waves. Little bit goes in whole bunch goes out next wave doesn't go quite as far Then it goes back out. Oh wait with the tides receding on top of everything else. Oh that don't help you know you don't go in here anymore There's something else. I I know I've said this before but you know this the scarcity of 22 rimfire ammo there is and I said this before and that is the 22 Hornet. You can buy a decent 22 Hornet rifle for around 200 bucks. And here's the thing about the 22 Hornet. 22 Hornet barrels have the same rate of twist as 22 rimfire barrels do. Normally they're 1 and 16 inch twists. And you can lift 22 Hornet brass all the way down with a 40 grain cast lead bullet. 22 rimfire load that same 22 Hornet brass. They're actually 500 feet than a 22 Magnum rimfire. That is the range that you can load a 22 Hornet from feet per second all the way up to 2500 feet per second with 50 grain jack. So the Hornet, here it is, here it's an 80 year old cartridge. It's been a 1,130. You can, it is a solution to this prop of 22 rimfire ammo. Very good. And again, the idea there, the center fire, it's a center fire cartridge, guys. 22 Hornet was actually done in even revolvers. There's few and far between now, but they were out there and they showed up in a wave back in 93 through 94. There was a bunch of them that came in from overseas. They were weapons obviously were sold to either a government or whatever, or they were in a shooting club collection. It was quite a few weapons or you know, like a standardized shooting system of some kind. But, lever actions were out there actually. Lever action magazine fed, savage guns, a number of different weapons were built in that caliber for that particular performance range. Like you said, it was quite versatile. A lot of people were looking for a reloadable solution for the same basic performance levels as a standard .22 or in a hotter actually gave bigger game getting or varmint getting cartridge and That's really where it fits its niche a lot of people have used those for wood chuck guns for years The XP 100 was used in a number of different calibers. It wasn't just in the fireball Let's not forget that With regard to the bolt guns as a sealed system It could be brought down to with a with a heavy bullet, but still kept below supersonic and it was applied in other ways that were very quiet so it's a versatile round and it gives you the ability to you take advantage of a number of different tools out there mentioned casting .22 caliber bullets that something is not as common but it is right they are available it's just most people don't think in that direction guys And cast for 223 slash AR-15 isn't really all that common unless you again, swage the bullet and create a jacket using something. Or you copper coat and copper coat again, usually a double or triple wash it to use lead in a gas gun of that type. But for this particular application, pure lead or copper coated lead will work just fine and get the job done. You know, while you're on that subject, before we scoot a little sideways and Skip Talbot said, you guys, I'll invoke that name once again in this hour, he said that he looked long and hard at that Desert Eagle, but that's the reason he decided not to buy one, because it was a gas gun and just for the pain in the gas ports to clean. Not to mention, you can't shoot lead through a gas gun very long without coming to major fouling. At a given point you have to do significant maintenance. Yes. It's that scraping application as the bullet moves past the gas port and it leaves a little gift behind over and over and over and over. Over a period of time it accumulates. You know what? It just so happens that there is another part that I wrote about in my second book back in the 80s named He developed process of using gas checks and he actually shot some of his, it's basically a double gas check bullet and he used some of those double gas check bullets in gas operated semi-automatic rifles and it eliminated the fouling problem. Right, it would be if it was a high shoulder gas check or again the way you would do it, it's a double step. One of the tricks is that people were using to make those jackets because they weren't available initially, the Wildcats were using copper plumbing quarter inch pipe cap and they were swaging that and trimming them. What it does with a high shoulder like that, it works like the Plinkster in the 90 grain projectiles and 95 grain projectiles that were made for the carbine. It's actually called a semi-jacketed bullet in that the jacket only achieves a certain height and then the lead is exposed the rest of the way for the projectile. Well, actually what he did I'm pretty sure the gentleman, he's long since gone on to the great rifle range in the sky. What he did was ... Can I write that down? I like that. Yeah, right. The great rifle range in the sky. Anyway, he would take ... I'll give you an example. If he was going to cast 30 caliber bullets, he would take some 30 caliber gas checks and then he'd punch a quarter inch hole in some and then he would insert that gas check with the hole punched in it into the mold before he cast the bullet. Usually he would insert it into the front driving band groove of the bullet hole and then the hole in the gas check would allow it to flow down into the rest of the mold. So you had a gas check in the front driving band cast right into the bullet. That's like an artillery round. I remember artillery rounds don't make full contact. Basically, as we've said, he took artillery technology and applied it at the rifle caliber level. That's really cool. Right. On an artillery round, it's called a triving band. Usually an artillery round will have. That's because artillery shells are made out of steel. Then the shell itself is actually a little bit less than land diameter. Then the driving bands, an artillery shell will usually have two or three driving bands on the round. That's what engages the rifling on the barrel so that you don't have steel on steel wearing down the rifling because the bands are made out of brass. When the 50 caliber people were trying to develop bullets many years ago you can still buy from Thunderbird there in Phoenix a steel 50 caliber bullet and No matter how well you treat the gun no matter you know how fine they build the bullets How much you keep the gun clean you get about a thousand rounds out of that barrel before it's shot out well Yeah, that's because you've got whatever Yeah, exactly whatever you have two like medals bearing against each other without any lubrication, especially in a situation like that where there's a lot of pressure involved. 55,000 pounds, yes. You've got galling. That means metal is actually leaving and becoming bonded to the metal it just passed. That's right. Exactly. You get little, almost like givits in the barrel. I know I've actually seen a lot of borescope, but it's kind of interesting. On the other end of the scale, when Eddie and I were in Pennsylvania at a .50 caliber shoot, the guy who won the Belly class, the bipod class, was shooting an AR-50. and he had recorded more than 2,700 rounds before he even returned. So, you know, steel does work wonders on barrels and you wonder why the barrel didn't last real long. That's the wonder we're implicating here. Yeah, that's the alternative gas check method. I'm pretty sure the guy's name was Wilt. There was an article in, I wrote all about it in my first book. I can't remember everything I wrote. It's 24,000 words. It takes a while to compile. Yes, it took me a year to write that. Oh yeah, that's a lot of words. I was talking with Mark earlier today. I've been counting words as of late. That's a lot of words. Yes it is. Go ahead. That's all I have, Mark. One of the things that I would remind everybody to remember is that with a lot of the reloading, notice we've been mentioning either gas checks or improvising from plumbing fixtures. Now one of the things you get a problem with is many of your hardwares aren't really hardwares. The one we have in Dexter isn't really hardwaring anymore, hardly at all. By comparison, it's become a boutique paint store for all practical purposes. It used to be when we had five or six factories in town, Dexter actually had industry. The hardware maintained a lot of material for supporting the industry, including a modeling division for a couple of the different factories, which meant a lot of material and components were on the shelf. The hardware reflects the lack of intelligence and potential in the population. Basically, a way to look at it. Let's put it this way. All of the nuts, bolts, screws, and real hardware stuff was driven down into the basement where originally it was on the first floor, readily accessible. It was the first thing you would move to. Heavy material or unique technology was downstairs. Now all of the real hardware category of stuff is downstairs where the peasants would have to go while the elite of course can peruse the Plastique and the paints up above. A little more pastel in that pastel, please. Yeah. For that reason, again, since we may or may not be able to pull it off the shelf, which is something we have done in the past, I will remind everybody if you have tinned copper or if you have material that is in raw stock form, try not to release it. Try to inventory it, store it in some way, at least keep it where you know where it is. because we can create cookie cutters. There are ways to create mandrels and anvil and hammer component and literally create the parts. That's what we had to do in the past. Eventually you look around and you go, what's in the industrial format here in some form? What geometric device might fit the niche and that we can form the rest of the way? Oh, there's something. Copper has been a very convenient metal in that respect. But, again, even though copper is used for plumbing, it still is, because the price was driven down to a degree because the Chinese flooded the market, now it's back up to the price it was 20 years ago in terms of scale to the value of currency. The problem is having to look for or find some other solution. This is where the other half of the battle is, why I have a hard time getting rid of even damaged brass. or for that matter any cases anything that steel case brass case or aluminum case we keep. Now because you can make brass O-rings. Yeah that's probably going to go immediately. A piece of brass cut sectionally across in a circle can be invaluable. Yep for the very purpose we're talking about here that we were just discussing about casting and cram producing items. Remember that if the case is of smaller dimension than the bullets of the other you know the other caliber or at least some component is, then that component can be culled from, can be harvested from the useful elements of a crushed or damaged brass case, or steel case for that matter, or copper case, because there's copper cases out there, don't forget that. How about cutting a groove in the cylinder head or the cylinder block of the motor that you cannot get a cylinder head for anymore at the oil return area? How about cutting a groove around the cylinder head itself so you seal each cylinder individually and beat out a wire from copper to wire that so you put that back together without a head gasket. But it still runs and don't leak. Exactly. Again, the idea is improvising, adapting, and overcoming. If we have the raw material, or if we at least have something, and geometric objects, different tubes, pipes, pieces, remember, if we have a lot of something, chances are we can bend it, or we can flatten it, or we can reshape it. If it fails, we'll cast it. That's another trick even with copper. If you cast it flat and then patiently sit and go tap tap tap, you can build that aforementioned head gasket. Exactly. We need to balance this out. I know a lot of guys are scrapping a lot of stuff. But I would point out that if we develop a certain technique, some of the stuff you get rid of you might go, oh man. Hey guys. I would go so far as to say that if at all possible, again, if you have a piece of crushed brass or if it's split at one end or the other, remember, create subcontainers. I'm constantly watching the recycling bins. for juice containers or vinegar containers or wide mouth anything in plastic clear container dad to put stuff in oh yeah dad what do you know we're getting close to the top of the hour I wanted to get up and let everybody know we're gonna be doing a bit of a test tonight we're not gonna be on holiday music when we're done with the intelligence report we're gonna be switching over to our basic broadcast we're gonna see if we fixed the delisting problem that we've been having during the day Hopefully we have, we had to reinstall a whole bunch of music on Live 365 today. 303 files, there's a new playlist and it's randomized, it's not a set playlist like it was before. And hopefully it will not delist, we'll be running a test of that tonight until the morning when the intelligence report comes back on again. Very good. So for everybody out there we are going to be experimenting and give us a little feedback, let us know how it sounds. And this is our basic broadcast. This is not going to be holiday music, this is our basic. Yeah, this is our basic. This is what we go to when we have a station problem. It automatically kicks in this playlist and hopefully this won't delist us. Thank you Eddie. Very good. And for everybody out there guys, take the time and again plug into live 365. And if we, well Ed's going to be keeping you on it. If we have further problems, needless to say, we're going to engineer a recording. I've got to squeeze this in. There are a number of people who call. This ain't the 700 Club, but they listen and they call and they say, Don, call for that prayer for someone. So hey, that barrage of prayer for a multitude of names, be like the Centurion, please. I've got a poor kitty cat with a hurting back end here. Sorry about that, guys. You probably heard that scream over the air. That went over the air. Poor guy. It's my oldest cat, kitty cat, here, and he's trying to help out with the program. Yeah, he's just getting cantankerous here. Not much, but he's got a little tender spot, so I gotta be careful. Anyway, we are at the top, guys. Tell your number for night vision before we go any farther. Don't rush, please. Hey, that number is 23179684582317968458. And I hear the music now again guys if you could please rate live 365 listening to the basics If you hear something you want to see rearrange you can make comments For all of our friends out there, we appreciate the input and guys stay focused for Christmas, weapons, ammunition, magazines and preparedness gear. Happy, well, oh look at that, happy, smiling faces. And another AK, it's what I needed. Or at least another Airsoft AK guys. Another thousand rounds. That's right, thousand rounds. It'll all go down range some days. Sooner or more likely than later guys. God bless the Republic. We shall prevail, ladies and gentlemen, the Empire is on the run. But we are on the march, both day and night. Ooh, raw. Keep him in the flat, beat him down hard, and don't let him get back up, people. Well, we'll be back tomorrow, same time. Thank you, Don. You're never gonna die, you should be closer, please. It is 2317968458. Thank you, Mark. God bless you. God bless you, America. I call you. The minute men are turning in their dreams.
