His clothes were torn and dirty as he stood there by my bed. He took off his three-cornered hat and speaking low to me he said, We've fought a revolution to secure our liberty. We wrote the Constitution as a shield from tyranny. For future generations this legacy we gave. In this the land of the free and home of the brave. The freedoms we secured for you, we hoped you'd always keep. But tyrants labored endlessly while your parents were asleep. Your freedom's gone, your courage lost, you're no more than a slave. In this, the land of the free and home of the brave. You buy permits to travel and permits to own a gun. Permits to start a business or to build a place for one. On land that you believe you own, you pay a yearly rent. Although you have no voice in saying how the money is spent, your children must attend a school that doesn't educate, and your Christian values can't be taught according to the state. You read about the current news in a regulated press, and you pay a tax you do not owe to please the IRS. Your money is no longer made of silver nor of gold. You trade your wealth for paper so your life can be controlled. You pay for crimes that make our nation turn from God and shame. You've taken Satan's number. You've traded in your name. You've given government control to those who do you harm so they could burn down churches and seize the family farm. And keep our country deep in debt. Put men of God in jail. Harash your fellow countrymen while corrupted courts prevail. Your public servants don't uphold the solemn oaths they've sworn. And your daughters visit doctors, so their children will be. Your leaders send artillery and guns to foreign shores, and send your sons to slaughter fighting other people's wars. Can you regain the freedoms for which we fought and died? Or don't you have the courage or the faith to stand with pride? And are there no more values for which you will fight to save? Or do you wish your children to live in fear and be a slave? Oh, sons of the Republic, arise, take a stand, defend the Constitution, the Supreme Law of the land, preserve our great Republic and eat God given right, and pray to God to keep the torture freedom bright. As Iowoki vanished in the midst for whence he came, his words were true, we are not free, but we have ourselves to blame. For even now as tyrants trample each god-given right, we only watch him tremble, too afraid to stand and fight. If he stood by your bedside in a dream while you were asleep and wondered what remains of the freedoms he'd fought to keep, what would be your answer if he called out from the grave? Is this still the land of the free? And good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen. This is the afternoon intelligence report. The first hour. I'm Mark Krunke. And that might be Don Betcher there. One day closer to victory for all of our brothers and sisters both on and behind the lines in occupied territories west, southwest, east, and north. Well, ladies and gentlemen, you were listening to us on... Colorado, the recall state where the devil worshiping nutcases with the beanies or the tiny frisbee hats are going ape crazy trying to implement Soviet socialism in Colorado. Looks like there's going to be a war there. Good thing. Clean up the house. Anyway, California, where Feinsteinism vomits more of its wretched spew across the landscape along with the diaper stain of Brown, Soviet Socialist Democracy of California, the California SSD, The beach had four communist Chinese foreclosures and with the money issue, well let's see the Chinese are starting to dump the US dollars and money reserve, well that's part of the long term political and economic warfare against the United States from the shyster bankers. In reality that attack is not coming from China, it's coming from Haifa and Tel Aviv. Don't make any mistake about that, long business partners way before anybody was talking about it. Communist China and the Communist Israelis have no problem working together against us, and they have. Turning back to the East, we sweep across the plains, leap over the burgeoning banks of the Mississippi inland and the Smokies slash the Blue Ridge. One of the restaurant crew's crime teams, OK teams, and the Ma Bell Crime Consortium of Retired Telecommunications Workers bring us the Golden Spike. Many hands make for light work. A million Peddicote Junction operators. The ability to continue to function separate from the regular Internet, we are growing. Well, It's a beautiful blustery. It's actually a little breezy but nothing bad. In fact, it's getting rid of the drying stuff up where we had a day or two of rain. So pretty cool there. It is the 22nd of November. I don't know, we better check. Do we have Don with us? Don't want to leave Don out of the picture there. 22nd of November, it is the fifth year of the Fabian Socialist and Soviet Socialist Occupation of America with a K-2013 Old Earth Calendar, or Mayan. Crazy Town, Crazy Town calendar. Now, let me give you something to do. It's Quartermaster Friday. Dun, dun, dun, dun, dun, dun, dun, dun, dun, dun, dun, dun, dun. That's right. Uh, Starship Poopers. I mean, Troopers. Or, well, let's see. What's another good one? Aliens! There we go. Everybody loves aliens. They got the Sarge, man! They came to come out of the walls, man! They got the Sarge! Meanwhile, you hear, boogalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalal spinning around and around. Remember that? Yeah, yeah, exciting scenes from future battlefields past, as they say. Now in each case, what made each of those movies kind of distinct is the use of the old armor. You see it in Starship Hoopers, I mean troopers. By the way, Heinlein's Starship Troopers, yeah, the movie version was designed to kind of insult Heinlein in several different points, but we won't get into that today. We're interested in logistics. In Starship Troopers, the armor of course was very specific and they made up a prop armor that really was quite accurate for hyper-ballistic defense on a battlefield based upon the very same developed research and final product that came out of the middle ages. And everybody goes, what? Well, yeah guys, I hate to tell you, but you see, for instance, Conical helmets, you know, everybody goes, well that looks really kind of weird. You know, how are you gonna make people think that it's cool if it works, but it doesn't look cool, you see? But there's a reason, if you look at the high helms that a lot of men wore back in the day, first of all, it was called armor for a reason. Its job was to deflect energy from crunchy, bitey, slushy, hacky, hammers and axes and swords. Now because of this, you don't think that they wanted to try to just put a flat piece of metal up and see how many times you could take a beating or, worse still, how much of that kinetic energy could be transferred through the armor plate and to your bones? See, just because you got something in front of you doesn't necessarily mean the energy can't be transferred if it's compressed well enough next to the physical structure of your person, okay? How many of you have watched movies and the guy gets shot with Kevlar body armor and then he rolls up the arm and he looks and there's this splotchy spot, which by the way isn't going to be a bruise bruise for a little while. When it's a real bruise, it's a big bullseye. If you're using lighter armor and you get hit with stuff or heavy stuff. Now if it's real heavy it goes right through your armor if you don't have the right level of protection. can't defend yourself against everything. Well, back in the day with the Knights it was no different. You think that the steel was the steel that you're familiar with today? Oh, that's right. That wasn't quite the age of the modern kiln, the modern, the foundry. A little different world back then. But ask yourself this. You see how much armor was actually put into the field. And remember that 100,000 men were put into one army and 100,000 men were in the field with the other. Do you think that all of them had armor? Well, they did, but it included everything from leather jerkins and leather hangings that were tempered to the greatest thickness by tanneries and wood, which was very common, along with studs designed to deflect or hopefully reduce or retard the energy, still creating some other problems because the stud was fixed at the back. If you smacked on it, it bit you underneath on the other side. That's why you had leather underneath the wooden armor. True guys, wooden armor. In fact, I'll explain that in a minute. Then you have, of course, chain mail. Chain mail was a big innovation. It was the first of the, let's just say, big weave Kevlar. How many of you think about it that way? What do you mean, Mark? All the Kevlar does on a much smaller scale is exactly what chain link armor does. More on that in a minute also. But then you have the outer panels which were steel if you had money. Iron if you didn't have as much money. Now when I say iron, don't think snappable cast iron. Think malleable iron. See, this is the one thing, if you've not been around steel or casting or working with metal guys, there are ranges to each metal. Some are more frangible, slash they'll snap and break. Their tensile strength is very different. Some stretch better. Now malleable iron is still made to this day and in fact although I'm noticing that even with the communist Chinese they're chancing out in that area. You don't think so? Let me point out something. For as simple as iron is to make, stamp steel with some punky junk over it to try and deceive you is just as good. Go to the new grills, go over to Lowe's and look at the Chinese made cookery grills that are out there. Your grill, if you bought it 3, 4, or 5 years ago, has iron grating on the inside which will take any amount of heat. Go and take a look at the new ones coming out or the one you may have bought last year. You'll notice that they don't have iron grills anymore. Even the more expensive ones, and they're still expensive, have lesser materials. By the way, that's the reason a lot of people are throwing them away because they break down and they don't have a clue about how to replace them with iron grill. So the idiots take their $1,000 or $2,000 grill, put it out by the road, we pick it up. We take the grills that we saved from the older wrecks that were in pretty rough shape because the bodies are still sheet metal but the iron lasts forever. You take the old iron, put it into one they threw away this year, you've got a brand new $800 grill for the price of some debris from one and debris from the other. Well, that malleable iron is what many of the different levels of armor could be made from. Now, did it still have a fracture point? Yes. But, did it offer protection better than your flesh hanging out in the breeze or wood, etc.? Well, of course. And then the lower grades of steel, or steel as you would know it in that era, then was of course the next grade up. Now how much money you had, and of course this is always the case, don't you think it's true today with body armor? The amount of money you had determined how much you had in the way of protection. Even to this day, a little hint here, communist Chinese troops in World War II fighting against the Japanese and of course fighting the Nationalist Chinese before and after they were fighting the Japanese. And communist troops during the Korean War learned a neat little trick that took a lot of it was poor man's body armor and it took a lot of the energy out of what was going on. What they would do is they would wrap their body with rope, hemp rope, one inch, half inch, whatever they could get. Then they would take boards as they were wrapping and they would lay boards, preferably something like an oak or a hardwood or an ash, but whatever they could get they would use. And they would layer that and then interweave the rope around it again and rope the person up. That was going to be front line infantry. Ooh, that's kind of mean. They also did this especially with sappers, slash suicide engineers. You know, we put up a bunch of barbed wire and we put up a bunch of defensive equipment and they got to get a guy to run through all of that or get as close as he can, pull a cord and set off all the TNT he's got wrapped over top of his armor. Usually it was in a backpack so it was to the rear so that was best protected and when the guy flopped over of course that put it down to the ground and it exploded and put a big hole in your defenses. Okay, you see this in an example of this in the movie Platoon or Tori in the last big fight scene where the guy runs in with a satchel charge strapped to his arson and you know back in front and he goes in and you see and Well, more often than not they didn't just run in. They typically were armored up a bit because somebody usually got the idea of what they were doing and if they were smart they'd plug the character. Well, if he takes that last hit of opium, just take some of the paint out. Not much, just stab him once or let him smoke a little bit. Then he does the charge. Excuse me. And then in the process... Maybe it gets hit a little bit. Well, the board and the rope takes a lot of energy out of the bullets, especially light pistol and or even light rifle. Back in the day what we had was 45 ACP 38 special 38 Smith and Wesson and one carbine etc. Well, the bullets still got through mostly but the idea was that it left very little energy to actually do damage to the doped up not pain feeling suicide bomber. He would then of course take a few hits maybe in some cases never even get touched because panic fire being what it is You don't always hit what you're shooting at and you get to where he's going pull the cord and kaboom frontline Korean and Chinese troops during the Korean War my uncle Lloyd talked about this extensively over the years especially up around the yellow when the first first came across There was more time for them to prepare There was more material to work with on the Chinese side of the river. On the Korean side, the Korean Peninsula was pretty picked clean. That's why trees are illegal to cut down in Korea. They've been trying to build a forest to back up. Well, when they first came across, they used the same rope and wood body armor. Did it stop everything? No. Did it get them closer so they could kill maybe somebody? Yes. Now we do a little better than that and in fact most of the body armor that we have from the 50s on is still very serviceable. Now everybody goes, whoa Mark, I talked to guys in the flak vest, it doesn't stop this. Obvious. I hate to tell you but it will stop some things. It's just not a catch-all for everything guys. However, remember Each of the armor classes that were developed, all of them served a purpose. Most of it is to protect you from random fragmentation. Not so much from small arms fire, although it will help. It really does. Contrary to what some people say. The Type 50 armor that was out there in the Type 52, Type 54 armor, which is US, which is Korean War, up to and was used by the Marine Corps into the early and middle days of Vietnam. had lower abdominal shock plates while the upper armor was soft. Now the shock plates were a logical result of looking at, and by the way this also happened in World War I, they went and looked at the armor that was built during the Middle Ages, during the perfected years. Now there's a big difference between the early stages of armor development and the era of the time of about Henry VIII. Now guys, what most of you don't realize, Henry VIII was a jouster. Does everybody remember that? He actually was in the jouce. But the jousting was so safe by this time that it was like big time wrestling. In fact, it was becoming so dull because unless somebody got a really lucky shot straight through some visor and they tried not to kill each other. They were trying to beat the snot out of each other. It was like a boxing match with horse and spear. If you had an unlucky break with a pole and it screwed somebody or whatever, that was bad. But otherwise, the armor got so good at protecting the individual that they actually created like you see in these toys that were made a few years ago or a couple decades ago, where the armor actually had breakaway components. So it creates some excitement for everybody when they were watching two guys go with each other and they would joust with each other. They would literally shishkabab each other and parts would fly off. Guys, they were added so they would fly off. It's like big time wrestling. I'm going to use this car on you. I'm going to drop from the ropes. Well, it was the same thing. And so again, while you see all this cool stuff, what they don't tell you is, my boy, even back then, WC Fields was giving you a show. Now, that doesn't mean that when you got out of the battlefield it wasn't dangerous. But remember, the more money you had, the more you were a personal tank. Well, what they did is they went to the perfected era of armor. In fact, the World War I British stillboy helmet comes from medieval armor. The German stillhelm comes from medieval armor. Both of these were traditional armors that were actually unique to those particular nationalities. Again, ethnic focus here, guys, slash national focus. It looked just like the boys of the past that protected the British Isles. It looked just like the Knights of old that were going across the west of Europe and was fighting. Don't forget the Teutonic Knights. You see, World War I guys, the Cold Scuttle helmet, the Pickle Fork came before that. Everybody had the skull helmet with the Pickle Fork. Everybody. We did. Don't think that that was a German thing. The Germans, the French, the British. If you don't think so, look at British Grenadiers, look at British Palace Guards. Take a look at French Hussers, take a look at French honor guard units that are still in place today that have the traditional uniforms. You'll see the Pickle Fork helmet in each of those armies. That was not just a German thing. It's just that the Germans went into the war with everybody with a helmet of some kind and then they transist very quickly over to the Stauhelm as they realized they were going into the dark side of the moon combat. So armor was brought up in a play there. Armor in many other categories was also developed for World War I, but it was mostly steel, it was high carbon steel, remember that was the age of steel, and heavier than sin, but hey, I'd rather have something in front of me if I'm going to be the guy up front. Hey, maybe it'll save me, maybe it won't, but at least I got something. I'll take my cover and concealment with me. I can kind of hang behind that steel and get really small if I look like I'm getting shot at. Anyway, modern armor. The 50s series of armored vests worked well and served their purpose. You have to remember, mortars, grenades, you are seeing this on the modern battlefield right now. Lots of junk coming down range. However, remember that the systems are based on the idea that the opposition doesn't have armor. or isn't protecting overhead or isn't protecting effectively overhead. Look at how they show you propaganda when they show like these multi-stream targeting systems from above and oh how devastating they are. Well what is the size of the charge and what is the size of, what is the amount of fragmentation that is generated? It's not as great as you would think. Obviously you don't want to get hit by it. The idea is you're playing for numbers. Also, again, the submunitions are dividing up and hoping that they're going to be going after a target that's totally, shall we say, stupefied. Doesn't have a clue what's going on. Apparently he just dances around in circles in the middle of a field for the benefit of being shot. Oh, you never notice that? They always give you a test where they show you something that's out in the middle of a field and they get a chance to show everybody, look how awesome this is. Now, real world environment, look around you. Now, real world environment with a prepared battlefield, totally different yet again. Plus, you're armored up, you're helmeted up, and we're going to get more into that in a minute. Whatever armor you can run into, the German Flechtar armor, which is newer, is more in line with the Pazgat family of armor. Pazgat armor came in towards the end of Vietnam as research armor and then was adopted in post-Vietnam. The Pazgat system was based upon all of the research and the casualty production numbers that came out of Vietnam. It's why the higher collar was put into play. It's why the sides of the helmet were brought down deeper. Now, everybody tries to poo-poo and stupid people make comments about the Pazcan armor that usually don't have a clue about how things are done and why they're built. Okay? And that pretty, after a while, really tires me out because you'll hear these idiots make stupid comments about, good pajas you can't armor, that's old armor, that's obsolete. No, it's not obsolete. It just requires supplemental defense if you think it's going to do what dragon scale armor does. But here's the thing, you can. Consider that the PazGat armor does what it was originally supposed to do, protecting the abdominal area, the chest cavity, the back, the sides, and of course, let's not forget with the helmet integrated, we now have protection over the most commonly exposed areas of the body in order for you to fight. Now, if we take a threat level 2 vest, the light duty ones that are ultra smooth, ultra thin, and they're coming out in surplus right now, guys, just like we told you, Apex Gun Parts. You take one of those vests and put it underneath a PazGat vest, and you put a chicken plate in the front. I'd go with a titanium plate in this case because I want to lighten up a little bit, but I could go with a $5 soft plate. That's fine. It's whatever you can get. The idea is that remembering when you armor up, no matter what you do, I don't know if it's dragon scale, I don't care if it's just front and rear trauma shock plates, I don't care what it is you come up with, you're adding weight. And another thing that armor does, you're going to find It restricts your breathing. It's going to create additional exercise that you probably didn't take into consideration. So remember that in the formula. Now, the older armor, I don't throw anything away. I've got actual Vietnam-issued armor that is all in Vietnamese. It was made by the US for Vietnamese aviation crews. Used to buy it for $9 a vest because it's all small. Vietnamese people aren't big, so everything they made was small, and I think the largest size they made was a medium. It is all in Euro spec or Asian spec as far as the numbers. It is all in Vietnamese. Yes, I know it is probably collectible too. I know that. But if I had put it on someone, in fact we bought it so that the Munchkins when they were younger, all of my kids had their own body armor. Everybody had a vest laying around. They are not going to be just hanging out in the breeze. Now in addition to that, I had all kinds of modifications or improvements that could be made that just simply It went into the pockets and hung on the equipment itself and it made for greater protection. You can't protect 100% with body armor. You can't. Period. Don't think that. It's bullet resistant. It is not bullet proof. And again, you've got to move. It does no good if you're a... It's like the ocean ball. Sounds really good to put everybody in safety and put them in an ocean ball. But the reality is, guys, then what do you do for work? Oh, work? Well, OSHA is the most important thing on the planet, so OSHA has to put you or ensconch you in the OSHA ball so you're completely protected from any possible injury on the work site. We aren't worried about work, we're just worried about you waddling around the work site and being completely protected. Well, that defeats the purpose behind why they're at work and I'm not going to pay them if they can't produce anything. Oh, well then the Federal Government will sue you because you didn't have them using the OSHA ball, which creates their own little atmosphere. Of course, the problem is the first few people died because they forgot to put in air vents, only because, well, it was a minimal contractor bid. Well, body armor can work the same way. You can start, you know, layering and layering because you're just paranoid enough for you. You're like, my god, they're going to get me. Well, yeah, it's the battlefield. People are trying to kill you. In fact, even in a defensive situation, It turns out people are trying to kill you. So it's a matter of the formula with regard to what you're going to be issuing or getting hold of. It's a matter of to what level of comfort can you maintain your troops or your personnel, allow for reasonable motion and still carry a combat load. Oh, you think the body armor is all you're carrying? So you better start doing the weight math on this too. That's why again, whatever if you've got a vest, stick with a system. If you want to upgrade it because maybe you're assault troops or you plan on being in a defensive situation where you're going to be under high contact and progressively fall back through a series of entanglements and defenses so that the bad guys are consumed by progressive attrition, then you might want to be armored a little heavier and that's where you again adjust different combat kits for different missions. If you're on your own power base you can do that guys. Now, newer armor is really cool, fantastic, costs $1000, $2000, $3000, you got that? Go for it baby! I don't have $3000 to spend on body armor because if I spend $3000 on body armor, I'm going to be able to afford gas, won't be able to buy food, I'm not going to have the other equipment I need. Yes, it will save my life perhaps as long as I'm lucky and cross my fingers the bad guys shoot me in a place where the vest is working. If I get shot in the arm and it goes through the side of my armpit and goes in right through the top of my arm with a high powered rifle around, my body armor didn't do me a whole lot of good there. Oh, so there aren't pluses and minuses. See, no matter how you look at it, I can show you the negative. It's like, well, there's still ways to get in on the target and don't you think people are going to be thinking that way? Or it's just the random luck of the draw. The armor we've been talking about, and this is where I'm going to lead, ApexGunParts.com still has the threat level 2 armor out there available. They've got the outer vest, they don't have as much, you guys bought a whole bunch of it, everybody's been grabbing it as they've been finding it. It's over in the tactical gear section. Most important is for the guys who have ladies out there. Female body armor has to compensate for the contours of the women that we like so much. Those contours are the focus of most men on the planet and because those clothes contours are of different sizes and because girls come in different sizes just like guys do as far as body torso size and other contour parts, the women's armor is beveled up above isn't it in the front. It's hard to find women's armor out there for a reasonable price. But they've got women's armor available through Apex and it's about $38 or $36 for a set. You can't beat it. So I highly recommend that if you have any ladies out there and you really do like them, This is a way to give them at least some protection from zombies, from small arms fire, fragmentation. How about this? When something pops through a door, a wall, or something, it creates secondary projectiles, which can be just as lethal, though they don't have quite the same amount of energy. A flak vest, a Kevlar vest of any kind, or any body armor of any kind, helps a lot to keep that from becoming a really wicked wound. Again, there are applications. It's personal choice. Not always do I carry or wear body armor, but I'm going to tell you something. When I moved around the country during our two year death march when we were talking all over the place, guys I lived in body armor. Most everybody, nobody noticed it. Most people didn't realize it. If you remember, don't think it was the black vest that I was wearing. That's the utility bat vest that has all the equipment on it and gear on it that we carry everywhere we go. The armor was the next layer in. And again, why? Well, I bought armor from one of our guys who buys the same stuff that Apex bought, but he buys it from other branches of the government. I didn't pay much for that. I paid $27 for a threat level three vest. The virtually brand new titanium chicken plate was $5. And everybody that we could outfit up has their armor. The girls have their armor, same class. Everybody else had their armor. See how that works? But we focus on getting the women female armor from that particular source as quickly as we could because it's few and far between. So I would say, if you got the girls out there and you haven't armored them up yet because, Mark, I can't afford $150 or $300, we'll go to Apex Gun Parts. Can you afford to put some bottle caps together and buy a $40 vest? And buy the $5 chicken plate. Please, buy the $5. You're not going to get anything like that for $5 anywhere. OK? and as far as the metal plates shop around. If you want to go with a metal insert instead you'll have to shop around. Remember with the girls they have the bumplies again up top and typically the female armor is contoured accordingly. The soft armor will match the contour and will fit into the sleeve without any problem. One of the reasons to be a good idea right off the bat if you're getting the girls armor invest the money, pay the five dollars and get the chicken plate slash the trauma plate. We always call it a chicken plate because the idea was, you throw it there up front because you're the guy up front and you're playing chicken with the bad guys. Oh, you thought it was because he's a chicken and he's putting more body armor on. Well, maybe that too. But he's got the right idea. I don't have a problem with it. I won't complain about what anybody wants to do, guys. Ever. Seriously, I have different ideas. The only thing is when somebody pisses and moans about somebody else doing something, trying to be snide. And I have no use for that. What you do with your equipment is the solution you came up with. I've said before, we need a multiple number of ideas. We'll find out soon enough what works best in whatever combo. Right now, we're free people. You've got free choice. You can choose the direction you want to go with logistics, especially with personal supply and support. So congratulations. I think whatever you're doing is a wonderful idea. Whatever way you're going, do it. If you have deep pockets and you have a militia unit here, and it has about 228 people in it, it is what we call the HK crew, they have a lot of professionals involved. They are buying things that I would love to have but can't afford. It is that simple. I mean you just can't, but they do. Now, if you have somebody like that or you are like that, I have no problem. Go for that puppy. Buy those Dobermans. You've got to have paper Dobermans. Go ahead, buy those paper Dobermans. I've got to stick with a mutt. I've got to try and find a free mutt that will fit the price that I can afford. Free? Because I can't afford the paper Doberman. I can't afford the paper Grote Weiler. Nice dog, beautiful lines, maybe smart, maybe not. But congratulations, my dog will work just as well and it will put down a whole bunch of theirs when the time comes. So that's the best way to look at it. That French Moss, that 6.5 Chap rifle, that 303 British rifle, and a whole lot else will do the job when the time comes. Now, where can I find body armor? Well, I mentioned this before and I'll do it again. Just for all of our friends out there listening, www.apexgunparts, dot com that's one company it's not the only company though center fire systems w w w dot center fire systems wait a minute center fire systems has body armor yes a matter of fact they replenish it sometimes and it's purely a matter of whether or not sturms wholesale gets anymore in center fire systems dot com they have the uh... when they have it they have the german Flecktarn Flakvest it's the pass-gat type armor. It's their version in the Flecktar camo. So if you're in the Flecktar camo you want to check them out. They come from Sturm. Sturm gets about 50 to 100 vests at a time, sometimes 200. That's when they drop ship them from Sturm through Centerfire. And Centerfire has them for I think about what $50, $48, $45. You can't beat it. I highly recommend it. I've got four or five of those tucked away with one of the mechanized pieces of equipment we have. Everybody has Fleckdarr everything, all on board. Fleckdarr hats, Fleckdarr gear, Fleckdarr clothing, Fleckdarr armor. Why? Because I could get it cheap and I was getting it in big bins. So I put it all together in one place so it's all where it needs to be. It's all big sizes and good sizes and clean clothing and ready to go so I can switch out from my rags to some really nice clothing when the time comes and be squared away and even have body armor. See how that works? So CenterfireSystems.com, www.CenterfireSystems.com. Now there's a lot of other places out there that carry body armor. You can pay the price you want. You literally can. So I'm just trying to come up with solutions to get you on the board. This is just like working with night vision, as Donald pointed out. First generation is nothing to sneeze at. It is a way to get you on the battlefield, guys. Just understand how it works, how it fits into the niche. Now with the night vision, just like with light mechanized operations, why are we developing light mechanized? What good would that do? Let me go to Abrams! Oh, shut up. The Abrams tanks are big. There's piles of wrecks of Abrams tanks down south that still haven't been fixed from the last 10 years of warfare over in the Middle East. Does everybody understand that? We don't have the money or we don't have the time. It only takes so long to rebuild an Abrams or rebuild the tanks that we got them piling up and we had to put them on the grass. We got to put them in extra yards. That's the Abrams tank, guys. It ain't the laser, it's the blades. That's what it'll get you. That's what it'll get you every time if you aren't thinking ahead. And of course with the system being screwed because of all the thievery by the Jewish mob in our system, we're screwed across the board. Now we've got to do with what we've got. We're fighting all this stuff laying around that's cool. Integrate it and make it work to the best of your ability with the armor, helmets, Now I'm going to tell you right now, people have been listening, people aren't grabbing the helmets, not just because they're collecting them, but because they want armor. A bunch of the French, Norwegian, Danish, and Belgian copies of the US American piss pot, the steel pot, came out. Now there are two versions in two ways that that helmet is built. The French and the German, typically there are two models for the French, there's one for the German. But most of the German and French are like their standard, older style, cold scuttle or the French combat helmet. The rigging on the inside is affixed to the steel. There isn't a liner the way you're familiar with it with the US helmet. Now, the Norwegian, the Danish, and a lot of the Northern European, Salt states like Holland, theirs actually have a helmet liner and all the parts integrate. They made standard US M1 steel helmets. Now, what good is a steel helmet? Well, I'll tell you what, put your arse out there in the breeze hanging on its own and I will tell you again, you'll see me wearing an M1 steel pot more often than not. I also use the Type 29 or the M29 Swedish helmets. Why? You just get them for $3 a piece. They were brand new. We had them stacked like cordwood. A lot of our troops have them and it will keep your gourd from being wrong when you run into a branch, a piece of tree or something in the middle of the night and it saved my life three times. Well, two times and the third time it wouldn't necessarily be life threatening but I sure as hell wouldn't have wanted that beaner strike across my forehead where I, you know, again missed a branch. Punk! At full speed. As it is, again, any helmet will do. I will point out, it's not so much for bullet protection as it is for strike and secondary motion contact where you miscalculate the bridge of a doorway coming out of an APC where you miss that bar or barrel hanging down just outside the door. Ever do that? I have. Guy's got an M60 or he's got another M2 mounted in the rear station on the vehicle. Barrel's hanging down and if you didn't know it, depending on the articulated fixture, oh yeah, the 113, if it's got the long arm and you're using the roof mount, barrel hangs over the edge, guy runs out. Oh, the ring is good. So it's random. You have to line up with that barrel, first of all, which is just barely hanging over. But it will be enough to knock you down hard if you're just using a soft skin hat. So anyway, point is if you're mechanized, helmets are a good idea. It can be hockey helmets. Remember, if you watch the movie, everybody just as excited about you, remember Black Hawk Down. Black Hawk Down. Well, remember that the SEALs, they try to purify their gear up for the movie BS. In reality, the SEALs were using hockey helmets. Why? Well, because when you go into a hockey match, guys are trying to beat each other to death with sticks. And it will ring your gourd real quick. You lose teeth anyway if they're not paying attention. And they have to get masks and screens for that. We know that now. But back in the day, when a hockey team used to smile, there were a lot of windows missing. Just the way it was. Anyway, hockey helmets is what the SEAL teams use. Why? For the reason we mentioned. They were designed to take a beating and it was designed to keep your head from bowing. Concussions are not a good thing when you're in the battlefield. But otherwise, was it armor? No, wasn't Kevlar. Now, by the way, I will point out, a lot of the football armor and hot cameras out there, you can buy it in Kevlar. Did you know that? I'll tell you what, here's some fun things. Go into all of the hockey armor and the football armor. And if you wanted to make some Starship Trooper or Stormtrooper armor that would really be interesting, you take a modern PazGat or modern vest, use that as the core. And or, well you need a bigger vest. You need a big vest because you've got all these attachments. But you know all those panels that you see, the shoulder pads and stuff, the shoulder outer armor? Guys, you can buy that in Kevlar. The same Kevlar that the PazGat helmet is made out of. The Pascat helmet offers ballistic protection. The football armor would also offer ballistic protection. So if you wanted to come up with some Starship Trooper or Storm Trooper type armor that would really kind of muck somebody's brain up, oh that's just fanked up, well it actually does deflect and protect. Now you put real armor underneath that that's bought for that purpose and you have shock armor on the outside, it might be kind of cool. Of course, remember you're limited in what you can do in that armor and for every plus there are other minuses. Know the math tables, figure out how it works physically. But you can, to prove me out on this, go do a search and start looking for and look at the catalogs, the really deep ones that have hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of examples of hockey and football armor readily available for the pros. Whatever price you want to pay, you can. But you can also come up with some pretty interesting protection. Why that'd be total shoulder protection for all of the joints. It would be kind of wow and you can even make your helmet look really cool too. More on that next because now we're talking about helmets. US Piss Pot M1, serviceable, I got lots of them. You show up, you're probably going to be wearing one. Kevlar helmets, yep, bought piles of them. Got a whole bunch of those too. In fact just as many as they do the M1s. But I bought them from the government because when they had Kevlar helmets, To spice up the steel helmets back when they were selling them, when they were getting rid of the steel helmets, they would put four, five, or six Kevlar helmets down at the bottom of the box. Most people wouldn't look. But I learned to pay attention. I looked down in the bin and lo and behold, look, there's Kevlar helmets in the bottom of that steel helmet pile. Shh, don't say anything. And I would aggressively bid on the 200 or 300 steel helmets because it would just be the helmets. It wouldn't be the liners. And everybody wondered, wow, he spent a little more on that. Well, Vinema is offloading into the truck. I would start throwing the Kevlar helmets to the guys in the back as we were packing the horse trailer full of goodies. And everybody goes, where did those come from? And it's like, oh, those were just like in the box. Oh, they were part of the lot there. And of course, all the people who were kind of chuckling weren't chuckling so much that while they were loading their goodies up because they paid less and they got another lot and they didn't pay attention. And they still really never paid attention. By the time they came around the next auction, I did the same thing. So we rounded up a lot of Kevlar helmets. Sometimes one or two of them would be broken. Those would be used for research. Why would you want a broken Kevlar helmet? Well, so I can shoot it, of course. Or so I can make, for instance, shoulder armor. or chin armor because I have something I can't I won't cry about because I didn't pay fifty or a hundred dollars for it so I can take the bandsaw and cut it and make chin armor to go underneath my Pascat helmet and now I have a Starship trooper or a stormtrooper type piece of equipment. Hey that's cheating! No it's called research and development, it's kind of fun. We all did all kinds of cool stuff with that junk guys and Mr. Bandsaw is your friend don't forget you're going to need one. So, and a jigsaw, of course. But anyway, Pazgan helmets, there's German, there is a couple other Euro, and there's the Brit helmets, which you don't see very often right now. Now, there is a warning. There are copies, and in fact, these are readily available for paintball now, but they were out before paintball. They're out there for training helmets. because some armies like the Germans didn't want to take Kevlar helmets and beat them up and take them in the field. The Brits also made a training helmet. Now still, we'll keep your head from bouncing around, but he won't slow a bullet down. And these came out and into the US back in the late 80s and into the early 90s and a couple companies were fooled by this. This is back when they were made by NATO. They were made for the NATO countries. They came into the US, somebody finally said, this doesn't look right. Fire shoot at these things. And they shot them with everything. And pretty much everything went through them. So they're basically the equivalent to a thick walled bicycle helmet, which is OK because I wouldn't toss them out. I just make everybody understand this is not an armored helmet. This is designed to keep your head from bouncing off the concrete or off the log or that tree or that piece of steel pipe you missed because you miscalculated and you're retired. You're trying to get away from somebody trying to kill you. How does that sound? Your head will take less abuse this way. So nothing is tossed out even if you run into these things. You get a bunch of them for free. You don't poo-poo them and go, I don't need that. No, you collect them and you hang on to them. You put the proper helmet covers on them and they all look the same as everybody else's gear and you've got a freaking four, you know, squared away troop, everybody looking good, everybody's got head covers, everybody's got the same camo. You all look cool, you all are pumped up, you're all motivated, you go kill Ching Lee when you're done, come back home and everybody gives you flowers, waves and candy. How do you like that? See how that works? And you look cool coming back. You look a little rugged, you got stuff worn in. You've got some of the enemy's gear, you're strapped over your shoulder, you're taking it home, put war trophies on the wall, or to upgrade the equipment you don't have. Well, that's probably more likely what you're going to do because the war is not over yet. Anyway, other helmets, the Brit helmet in its actual configuration does work. Not real fancy. It wasn't designed to be. It can't stop and won't stop everything. You're stupid to think so, but it will protect you extensively. And there's some neat stuff that can be done. If you remember I mentioned aliens. What kind of helmet were they wearing in aliens? Did you notice guys? Well, what they did is they took a standard US M1 steel piss pot and heavily modified it with front shock panels, rear shogun type Chinese or, forgive me, Japanese samurai armor back hangings, and all of a sudden the camera on the side and you really look cool. Dudes, that was their base-age body armor. Yeah, you know, steel piss pot, heavily modified. Now in reality the idea is not unsound and you're already seeing variations on this with the present Kevoir armor or helmets that guys are carrying into the field. Look at all the gimmicks we got hooked up. We now have the gimmick hook fixture in the front of the helmet you've got to have to be cool for your night vision. You've got side mounted cameras which everybody is adding themselves. They are mostly adding themselves guys. And sound audio equipment, either with a separate harp and a headset, you know, a crossing over the head but fitting inside the helmet and the helmet accommodates that. This is something you don't realize, these do this in World War II with gunner's helmets the same way. They're accommodated. They actually have a recess so that the crossbar for your headphones doesn't crunch down on your head and the helmet fits properly. The new helmets do that too, depending on the model. Well, everything you see there you can do yourself and you can do it for just a hell of a lot less money and come up with just as good if not a better design. Again, the Pascat armor with the Pascat helmet will take and accept pretty much all the junk that you're throwing onto any of these other helmets. Whether or not you think you need to look like the latest and the greatest, I don't like the idea of a lot of the vent holes that are in there. If supposedly this armor works so well, is it just a bicycle bucket or is it armor? Well, that's because they're in a hot environment. Well, guess what? That's what proper configuration of the inner basket, if you're using an armored helmet, that will make all the difference in the world. And we did perfect all of that. It's just all of a sudden we lost our brains and don't know how to do that. So instead, we're seeing everybody moving the other direction with the China Sport stuff. Oh, I'm sorry. Wait a minute. It is China Sport stuff. Most of it is Chinese made. Think about the idea that you can take a lot of these systems, you can add a camera. By the way, the camera isn't a bad idea. The camera is a good way to help the evaluator do intelligence work while you're in the field. The only thing is camouflaging it better, not letting it use the industrial colors, but coming up with either an over fixture or, here's an idea, a simple piece of plastic that is covering the fixture and then camouflage duct tape. That's right. By the way, also spray camo the material itself wherever possible so it kind of blends in with the rest of your equipment or blends in with the environment. And remember that you're still going to have that optic lens to the front which does offer reflection. Typically that's not softened or coated with an anti-reflective surface. Some of the military stuff is, some of the military stuff isn't. It means that's going to be another shiny spot to watch for at night, especially with night illumination if you use it to your advantage. There's a whole bunch of cool things you can do to allow you to spot check for how many troops are on the ground. Night vision works the same way, guys, as I pointed out. So again, if it's fixed to their head and to their helmet and centered on their beiner, that can be a way to ID where you're going to put the bullet even in the middle of the night with first generation or with infrared technology. It doesn't have to be starlight. Infrared can see all third and second generation equipment on the battlefield. They can't hide from you. Uh oh, we weren't supposed to know that. Yeah, I know. But I'm telling you now, so you have a little heads up on some cool stuff you can do with some old tech to go up against new tech and beat them down hard and generate a lot of casualties before they ever figure out what you're actually doing. They might figure out to cover up their equipment or shut it down, but chances are they won't. It's just something to think about there. They're very dependent upon that high tech and that's cool. That makes them a bobbly target that you can be hit first time every time. It's just something to think about when you're wanting to mimic the other side and haven't really done a lot of research or don't know all of the story. Just because they make it cool for the movie or cool for the news networks doesn't mean it's necessarily your first best choice if you know how to counter measure things. Anyway, armor. As far as the helmets go, pick There are no cheap helmets except maybe the Russian stuff, the Bulgarian or the Hungarian coming through right now. Most of that is brand new. The Polish helmets, very well made. They are steel coming through again, thinner walled but not as thick as the USM-M1. The M1 Pisspot, US helmet from World War II was a Cadillac for its day. Just like the Grand was the Cadillac of firearms in the inventory of any army. So the M1 helmet was a great step forward. That inner liner was a ballistic shell. The steel helmet itself was a heavier gauge and better built than pretty much everything else out there. No, that doesn't mean it was going to stop everything, but it was designed to offer better protection based upon scientific evaluation of the threat. So, when you're looking at the helmets that are available, one of the things to take into consideration is the copies of the M1 that are out of Europe. If you can get the model that has the liner, it's the better choice because that was a ballistic liner. Take a look at the material itself. Ask yourself why it survived so long. The liners will survive. The canvas strapping may or may not fall apart over a period of time. It has to be replaced. I've done that. I've rebuilt helmet liners from the inside as far as the netting and the strapping and everything. I've got a seamstress right now working on about 25 helmet liners up in the Midland area. I gave her a big pile of them. She's working on them right now. I gave her a roll of strapping I collected from another site. she's going to reset those and repin them so that they're all brand new on the inside. They're going to get a brand new coat of OD Green paint, which she already is doing, after she stripped them and then they're going to be relined. Why? Because I got a whole bunch of steel pots that need liners and I'm going to make sure that they're all up to snuff and I'm not going to poo-poo them. Now here's a little trick with the Kevlar helmets and with the US Piss Pot. Have you got a seamstress? Have you got some extra pieces of Kevlar panel you might have scavenged from somewhere? That's soft armor. Well, if you've got a seamstress, she can make a chicken plate front and rear, kind of like what they did in the movie Aliens where they welded the armor to the front and rear to make the Space Age helmet. You can put additional shock panels front and rear in soft armor, build pockets into the cloth helmet cover. It's a nice snug fit to begin with so the stuff won't just bobble around. And you can put a forehead plate up front that's 4 to 6 inches tall and then a back neck plate or a back wraparound plate in the rear, a panel made up of soft Kevlar to the back. Now you've upgraded dramatically the most likely areas of approach for a bullet with regard to infantry motion because again you're going to be facing the enemy or going to be trying to probably run from the bad guys or at least if you're in a fighting position, remember it's your head, your shoulders and your neck that are typically going to be exposed at some point. That's why the armor improvement is in particular areas. Again, you can only carry so much weight, there's only so much we can do to modify or improve certain things. or to at least upgrade them, change them out. So there's an upgrade that can be done easily. Do some thinking. Think about and see. Extra helmet covers, extra cloth. Insert pockets and then cut Kevlar soft panels to go inside that Hey my brainy thingy is working again. Well, anyway armor and again available apex gun parts calm Center fire systems calm a lot of other companies have components out there We'll be back in just a few minutes here. A figure walked in through the mist with a flintlock in his hand. His clothes were torn and dirty as he stood there by my bed. He took off his three-cornered hat, and speaking low to me, he said, we've fought a revolution to secure our liberty. We wrote the Constitution as a shield from tyranny. For future generations, this legacy we gave. In this, the land of the free and home of the brave. The freedoms we secured for you, we hoped you'd always keep. The tyrants labored endlessly while your parents were asleep. Your freedom's gone, your courage lost, you're no more than a slave. In this, the land of the free and home of the brave. You buy permits to travel and permits to own a gun. Permits to start a business or to build a place for one. On land that you believe you own, you pay a yearly rent.
