But that hasn't been the case. Now up north, farther away from us, northern part of the state, we've got drier conditions in some areas. So far food production has been way, way up. Everything, zucchini, radishes, tomatoes, you name it, it's all cranking out. No doubt about that. So everybody be prepared accordingly. You've got something you got a lot of extra of, dry it, can it, do something with it, but don't waste it. and don't lose it. You've got to be used to using the technologies that you put for yourself so that you do have food production in place to plug in when you're doing a hundred percent of that. When you're in your 90s and you have a major medical problem, it can be fatal and heartbeat. And in fact, my mother was ill, and it not was, still she was at death's door here about a week and a half ago. enough the doctor actually said. For any of you, if she's got any children or family members, they need to be here now. You should tell them to come. The doctor was pretty well sure that it was 92, in other words, 92% probability she was going to die. They could. They did very well. In fact, they did an exceptional job. I have to compliment them. The patient is difficult to say the least. Mom's 91. You get up to 91 guys, all kinds of things will get you even if the surgery is correct. Okay? What happened is just as a couple weeks ago, mom woke up, not feeling quite right in the evening. First she could stand up, she walked around a bit, she sat back down on the bed, helped her move, but she sat back, laid down, started to feel worse. The second time she couldn't sit up, she couldn't get up to get out of bed. She called in, had her transferred to the hospital, had a quick overview, and she had an internal rupture of a lower bowel. It had been going on for a short period of time, but long enough that we were looking at gangrene and obviously a variation with regard to what was taking place. The internal area part of her body cavity was the open door, double door, guys out, clean everything up, about a good eight inches or so. Now she's going to have to go with the clots. We bag that. That's just how it works. And again, they did everything right. They did it through. The doctor said that at a given point, she's considering that in a way, old people clot and then usually die. Amazingly enough, he said he was, the doctor said he was scooping out literally the size of her liver, blood clots out of her, you know, cavity. But in a way, looking at that, in a long view, probably that's what helped to contain and save her too, you know, to a degree. Unfortunately, that problem combined with her lung collapsed, the other lung partially collapsed, stroke was confirmed in the first few hours after they got her into surgery, got her out of surgery weekend, and they did. They came back together and basically he said some hands of God, but he also made the comment, he said, you know what, I'm going to tell you something right now, Mr. Kornke, he was 52 years old. I wouldn't give her a positive surviving this. Mom's 91. So right off the bat, she beat the big numbers in that respect. Hand to God cares, I think all of it helped people, combined with the fact that, as I said to my family here before we took off to deal with this, is well, the one thing to remember is she's a shilling in there, cantankerous and rubbery, okay? When we got there, yes, she looked like she was a breath away from not being with us anymore. And it was tough. This is my, of course, we've been tag teaming. My oldest was the first to be Once he had stayed for a period of time, initially when this started, then we tagged him. He had to go back. We took over. My youngest sister is now there. The good thing is, as much to help my dad, I gotta remember, my dad's the same age. For him, it's, in fact, we've had to deal with similar problems with him. Not the same, but major medical health issues, and we're blessed to have both of them with us for as long as they're here. Progressively over the last week, initially no water, no food, purely IV and all medical support was IV. I know everybody can find all kinds of other excuses, but as it is, friend, strength, and personal. Again, it's also the individual that's injured or ill. You have to make a choice that you want to fight. That is a fact. That's one of the reasons you don't leave a person alone. That's one of the reasons that also if you're a caregiver, if you're a person in the field and you ever have to deal with a casualty, you don't start talking negative in any way, shape, or form. In fact, you want to pump that person up. You want to keep eye contact. You want to keep them focused. You want them to fight for their lives. But it's a personal choice. And to a degree, I think it's the persona of the individual. I've seen people far less, in fact we've talked about this, people who have a fatal injury talk themselves into death. So it's a matter of... I've gotten the elbow in the book, the small unit action... Yeah, I'm gonna die, I'm gonna... It's not fatal. I'm gonna die, I'm gonna... And people will do this. And it is, I would say it's persona, it's attitude, it's how you embrace life in the first place. But you have to be strong, you have to be positive. Again, you all know too, if you've done this long enough, you have to stay focused and the energy is built. The energy is positive. It has to be. It takes a lot out of you.
