A figure walked in through the mist with a flip-lock in his hand. His clothes were torn and dirty as he stood there by my bed. He took off his three-cornered hat and speaking loaded instead. We fought a revolution to secure our liberty. We wrote the Constitution as a shield from tyranny. For future generations, this legacy we gave. In this, the items we secured for you, we hoped you'd always keep. The tyrants labored endlessly while your parents were asleep. Your freedom's gone, your courage lost, you're no more than a slave. In this, the land of the free, of the brave. You buy permits to travel and permits to own a gun. To start a business or to build a place for one. On land that you believe you own, you pay a yearly rent. Although you have no voice in saying how the money's spent. Your children must attend a school that doesn't educate, and your Christian values can't. You read about the current use in a regulated press. And you pay a tax you do not owe to please the IRS. Your money is no longer made of silver nor gold. You trade your wealth for paper so your life can be... You pay for crimes that make our nation turn from God and shame. You take us. You've given government control. Who you harm so they can burn down churches and feed and keep our country from dead. Put men of God in jail, harass your fellow countrymen while corrupted ports prevail. Your public servants don't uphold the solemn oaths they've sworn. And your daughters visit your leaders, send artillery and guns to foreign shores, and send your sons to slaughter fighting other people's wars. Can you regain the freedoms for which we fought and died? Or don't you have the courage or the faith to stand with pride? And are there no more values for which you'll fight to save? the Supreme Law of the plan. Preserve our great Republican each god-given right. The ayahuasca vanished and the misfruity. His words were true. We are free, but we have ourselves to blame. For even now as tyrants trampled each god-given right, we only watch him tremble, too afraid to stand and fight. He stood by your bedside in a dream while you were asleep and wondered what remains of the freedoms he fought to keep. What would be your answer in the grave? Good morning ladies and gentlemen. If you're listening to the intelligence report here on the micro effect, this is the intelligence report in the morning. I'm Edward Warnky filling in for Mark Warnky and I'm not sure we may have gone there. Sounds perfect. And it doesn't appear she will. Um, off to a little bit of a late start this morning and the first hour we only got into the last 10 minutes, but that's okay. Um, I was just covering simple preparedness being August, you know, we're getting closer to September, October, November, and December, those months where things start to get colder and in the northern hemisphere here, we start thinking about that S word that people don't like to think about in the winter. So, I was going through basic equipment for, you know, packing in the vehicle, make sure everything's ready to go. In fact, some of this stuff you should probably have in your vehicle year-round anyway, but we're going to go through a quick list here. Shovel, nice to have if you've got to dig your stuff out of some snow or maybe some, even some mud or muck and get down to some gravel or roads and dirt that you can actually get some traction on. Let's see, windshield scraper and ball broom for the winter aspect of travel. Of course, the small broom or the windshield scraper can also help if you've got really muddy windshield. You never know what type of turning you're going, especially when you're going cross country. Flashlight with extra batteries, of course, it's a nice one to have. Solar batteries or with charger is a nice one to have that way even if you get stuck up and just leave it in the windshield and have it charge up so you've got light most of the time. Let's see, battery powered radio. Now that's a nice one to have so you can stay praised on what's going on in your area. Of course wind up fairly cool, fairly easy to get a hold of through wires and it's a good one to have. Wind up a TV or shortwave would CBR survey windup radios are possible too for receiving. I'm not sure if they make a CB windup transceiver when the transpist flow goes up, but I have seen the windup CB receivers. CB radio in the car, we covered that before we got to the top of the hour and last one. The CB radio is excellent to have in the vehicle for communication. A lot of the survival, the homeland security is putting out a cell phone adapter to plug your cell phone into the lighter. Yeah, but they don't mention of any other radio or communication, you know, to be able to call for help with that. And with the CB, you can listen and call for help or people who are usually out on the road like the semi-truck drivers or Channel 19 is supposed to be the standard, you know, communications channel for truck drivers for traffic and if you go down to channel 9 that's supposed to be an emergency frequency that fire department police and rescue are supposed to be monitoring. That's another good reason to have the CB in the car is you can just drop down to the 9 channel if you need that kind of help and call it in that way. As long as they're listening they're supposed to it doesn't mean that they are. with the food for the vehicle. Emergency food like raisins, mini candy bars, stuff to keep energy up. MREs is a good one to throw in there too. Or freeze-dried food. Personally I like the freeze-dried fruit better than I feel. That's up to what you can afford to put in the kit in the trunk of your car. Matches, small candles, a spindle like as well sternal of the Adlut would be good to have on hand not just for heating the vehicle but also for melting the snow or melting ice if you're stuck in that type of situation. There's several different uses for the candle and the matches that you know a lot of people think about right off hand. You know obviously starting a fire if you get a certified for a signal fire. Good idea to have that stuff on hand. Extra half socks and mittens and that is very important guys. If your body gets cold or if you get wet socks, wet gloves, it's a good idea to be able to change them out especially if you have to get out into wet weather. Not necessarily snowy weather, keep that in mind as we get closer to fall. Wet weather is just as dangerous, in fact, sometimes more dangerous than the snow. You lose body temperature a lot easier in water most of the time, especially if your clothes get wet. It's a good idea to have those extra sittings and even a change of clothes in your car if you can, if you've got the space. Let's see, first aid kit with pocket knives. That's, of course, a good idea. I mentioned that last hour too. Two, first aid kits are better than one. That way in case you have to use yours up, you've always got more in case you've got to go back to it. Necessary medications, it's a good idea to have whatever meds your vehicle, get somebody who travels with you on a regular basis or yourself have medications that you're supposed to take. It'd be a good idea to go to your doctor and say, hey, I'm putting together an emergency kit for my vehicle. Just in case something happens and I want to have these medications on hand, or you can tell them, hey, I'm going on a trip and I need some extra medication. Get them and put them in that emergency survival kit in the front of your car. Containers for this stuff, you put it in and everything will pull up. It'll work pretty good, or you can do a backpack. I think there's a place called Ollie's up here in Michigan right now. They've got tots on tail, 18 gallons. It should be big enough to handle most of this for an emergency kit in the trunk of your car. 18 gallon tots, they're not, it sounds big, but they're not that big. You'll be amazed how fast it is, of course, essential and you should always have water for your emergency kit. Much water as you can fit in, it is my opinion. Oh, because water is not just crucial for you, but it can also be crucial for your car. But also throw in there, along with the water, how by the emergency kit, some extra stuff you think you may need for your car's food. So, including oil, dry gas that you mix with water, a number of different things that you can put back there that would be crucial for the car as far as the side implements for your automobile. Of course, in a small tool kit, the ability to change the tire is nice to have a T-bar or at least a tire wrench with a jack. The fill chains and ropes is again nice to have even if you can't find somebody to give you a toe, there are ways to wrap. If you got a come along, come alongs are a lot handier than just having a regular strap. You can literally tie one end around hard point on your car, get the other to a tree and then you used to come along to pull the car out of whatever it can. That's another thing to keep in mind. A lot of stuff that's Armstrong, if you're stuck in mud that's just wetting your tires by, odds are you can pull it out if you have the right equipment, even by hand. And it sounds like a lot of work, guys, but it can be done. I've been involved with having to do that before. Okay, moving right along here. Uh, I've got the next on my list. Road salt, sand, cat litter, retraction. Big help. Road salt, of course, ice. Also give you some nice grit to get a hold of. Sand is a little better, but cat litter pretty much works the best. So a bag of kitty litter is a good thing to keep in the trunk. You don't necessarily have to keep it in the pit with the other stuff. I can just be in the bag outside. Of course, jumper cables, jumper cables are important. If you've got a dead battery, you can usually jump it. Even if you can't get the battery to charge back up again, you can give your engine a jump, get the motor running, and then when you get to your destination, whatever the problem be, whether it be the open air gun battery, just the battery is not holding the charge anymore. You can at least get to the location where you can swap it out or emergency flags and flares, reflectors, light stops, you can get the emergency flasher light set. Those are nice batteries. You got to be careful that you put everything into one device and something goes wrong with it. It messes up the whole device. And so it's a good idea to use emergency lights and everything on hand in separate form. the flashers, the roadside players and all that other fun stuff they want to put together of course and most of our roadside kits we've also got the parachute wear. Really good because ground clear is a nice to get people's attention that are you know you're buying on the ground but if you're off the road for whatever reason whether it be an accident you swerve and you had to get away from that and you're in a real situation where you can't get back to the road the parachute flare, if you hear somebody coming by, whether it be a ground vehicle or an airplane, whatever, you fire up the signal flare, they're more likely to see that than they are to see the flare on the ground. Let's see, I'm sorry with that. The fluorescence and distress lights, they work during the day, they can work, you hang them out, you're supposed to hang them out or up your window or you like your antenna to signal that you're in distress. Kind of like putting your flashes on, but if your battery's dead. Let's see. Again, the cell phone is a nice little tool to play with. I would not make the cell phone my primary means of communication is in the vehicle. CB radio is a good one. Of course, marine band, but not many people unless they're traveling in your circles are gonna have marine band. That's pretty much something that you have to set up in advance, you know, that your people are looking for that marine band channel. I think that's about it for the side kits to get ready for winter. Just stuff to have in your vehicle, stuff that you should start thinking about now before it gets too late if you don't have it in there. Do a check on it. Make sure you have stuff on standby, ready to go. You might have to use your kit or some of the stuff got pulled out of the car and headed into winter. It would be a good idea to get some of that skin there. Again, wool blanket or some kind of sleeping bag to keep you warm if you end up staying in the vehicle for a prolonged period of time. This stuff is designed to save your life if you needed to be there. I would also flare gun or something along those lines. Not just for signal flares but also for protection if necessary. I think pretty good and I'm not sure if we can open the call-in line. Maybe our engineer is there and he can tell me if we can and I'll give out that call-in number if we can. Okay. Well, we'll move along. I'll give out the call-in line just in case it's open. If you want a call-in, the number is 8 1968. Again, the call-in line is 888-747-1968. You're listening to the Intelligence Report on a Micro-Effect. I'm Edward Corky. I'm filling in for Mark and Don, and I'm just... Looking at things that we need to get ready for the fall and winter season that we're moving into. We've got garden preparations that we need to take a look at if you've been doing garden. Some things that you may want to start looking at, at least getting the material together for boxing and plants that have been doing good production if you're in the northern hemisphere, if you're in the temper, I should say. Where we do get snow. We get frost and there are several different ways that you can tent or box in your plant to where you can prolong the production. You don't have to do a full-size greenhouse for some things to go in longer. We've got the little greenhouses that people have seen which are nice. There's the PBC kit. which doesn't take a lot of material, but you can actually make that smaller and literally just go over the rows in your garden, down on either end, way down the access. Now your whole row for your garden is sealed in. It's got the same greenhouse effect. Of course, you have to leave a little bit of the starves themselves of over produce the oxygen. That's one thing that will happen. And you can draw the plant too. You gotta keep that in mind, of course, as you would if it would be without them being covered up. But I'm trying to think of the plants that you can prolong like this. I know tomatoes, you got some pretty good tomatoes like ones my dad's been growing. Good stock top of it to keep it going. I think it's all on information here, guys. So any help would be appreciated. I'm hoping that we'll have Don with us here shortly. But we are not sure when the break's up. over here and see what else we can find. This is the micro effect, the intelligence report in the morning. I wasn't aware I was going to be doing this program in the morning until a little bit yesterday after mom got home from work in the morning and nobody's older. Okay thanks for the heads up and yeah I am operating on site so. Anybody have a question that want to get ahold of me through Skype? You could send me an instant message on my Skype, which is Liberty Tree Radio, my Skype ID and handle. And actually, you know, I think I'm going to try, I don't know if I can, if I can do this. I'd like to tag somebody in here if he's there. If I could send him in if we can, I will call him up. Maybe he's there, maybe he's not. But we... in just a second. I know we've only got a few minutes to break. You are listening to the Micro Effect. If you like the programming on the Micro Effect and you want to help keep the programming on the air, go to themicroeffect.com and donate. Help Joe and the family there keep the tape running. I'm sure they would appreciate any donations that you can shoot their way. Also, check out the sponsors of the Micro Effect. They're a big help keeping the Micro Effect up and on the air. My friends, so, flying solo. Again, that's the micro effect dot com, the micro effect, the micro effect down, down below there. Easy. Could be a mistake, but I don't think I am. Kind of handy having a little, uh, dad use this often in the morning. Running out of material, so I'm gonna ask, we could, uh, maybe start some music before the break a little early, you know, if I can use for the next part of the program. That would be helpful. This is just going good. We'll see what we can come up with. Uh, oh, let's see what we've got in the news today. What's the topic over here? Googaz. Oh, there we go. All right, you're listening to the Micro Effect. This is the intelligence report in the morning. I apologize. I'm not prepared. Stay tuned. Coming up next, more of the intelligence report here on the Micro Effect. Yeah, it's a little dark in here, ain't it, Clink? Now that you've busted the light... Where are you? I'm right in front of you. Ah, yes. Now, where have you hidden these Vax figurines with the geysers? I've got no bloody idea what you did to your Vax figurine, and I don't care. You are the prisoner! That's right. And the such, I expect some answers out of you. Now, where did you put my stash of freeze-dried food? Fiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii I'm sure it was. I'll have you know that was freeze-dried food from the freeze-dry guy. That food rehydrates faster, stores longer, is nutritionally superior to, and tastes better than any other long-term storage food available. Now let me out of here. If you could get to some more, perhaps you could, then you could. Yeah, perhaps I'll just cut this to your keys. I'll also let myself out the front door. Let's make it. In this present crisis, government is not the solution to our problem. Government is the problem. I believe it is clear our federal government is overgrown and overlooked. Indeed, it is time our government should go on a diet. There's millions of people in this country, and I don't think they've really grasped what really could happen. The new deal and the bid is we're bold measures for their generation. This is a new generation. intelligence report I think we've got Don this morning I tried to get stuff prepared for the first hour We didn't get on until 10 minutes, but I used it up in the first half before we got to the break. So I'm doing OK, but preparing for a shuttle, and it takes more than you think. And I'm used to doing the other end of this. Oh, yeah. I do know we got Joe talk about gardens, because before you came up down, we were talking about getting things ready for fall and winter. And I just started getting into gardening when Joe, anything that you think we need to be getting ready for fall or winter with the garden would be nice to hear about. Well, good morning gentlemen. Folks out there, this is Joe from the Carolinas down here in Balmy, USDA zone 8A, 20, and that almost navigated right now some banana trees that I just put in. We're going to see how those do. Folks out there, if you're just getting into gardening in winter, this is basically the perfect time to start thinking about what it is that you want to plant, what it is that you want to grow, and how you want to do it. First thing to keep in mind is that we need some information. We need to know when that first frost or where you're located is sort of like, hey, we can't plant anything. We can't expect anything to grow once the frost happens, unless you have what's called the season extender, which is something that you would cover your plants with to protect them from frost. There's a good resource online, your general identification code or your zip code. And I'm going to give that website out, that's plantmap.com. You can pull up plantmap.com. In the upper left hand corner there's a little zoom to zip code. And if you put your zip code in there, it will tell you all kinds of information that's tailored specifically to your area. I'm here in North Carolina, so tell you if you're out there in Kamiya, Idaho when you're first frostbite would give you some kind of indication. The other thing is that you want to get yourself, you're just getting into gardening in the fall or upching the fall. You want to get yourself a good reference. You don't want to start about planting tomatoes for the fall if you're going to have a frost because those plants are going to die. There's a couple really good and I'm going to give the titles of those books out on air. So you guys might want to write this down. Being Communications Tuesday, sometimes it's important to communicate resources. First book that I think would be helpful for any beginning gardeners, the Vegetable Gardeners Bible. It's a vegetable gardeners Bible. And that's by a guy named Edward Z. Smith. And the Vegetable Gardeners Bible is an excellent book. that covers all the things that you need to do if you're first getting into gardening. And the cool thing about this book is that he really goes to organic methods now. So there's not an emphasis on chemicals and spray. The emphasis is on health efficiency, what you can do without having depend on big agriculture. That's the vegetable gardener's bible. And he'll tell you how to site a garden. He'll tell you how to make beds. how big your bed should be. If you're not in the gardening, you think of bed as like, oh, I want to go back to sleep this morning. A bed is something that we put the... The second book, Gardening. And that's by a guy named Mel Bartholomew. And I'm not even going to try to spell that last name. Just look up the title there. This book also for beginners. This guy, Mel, was actually an engineer. So he covers things from a very sort of practical, pragmatic standpoint. His approach to Time Gardeners is you don't need a whole lot of space. So even if you've got maybe an apartment balcony or you've got a small amount of area in the backyard that has some sun, you can really squeeze a lot of good food plants into that space and get a decent harvest out of it. Okay, so those are two books that if you're first getting into it, I think they won't steer you wrong. Questions, comments? These are these books covered bucket gardening. I know your father's covered bucket gardening. They call it container gardening. Container gardening. They don't emphasize container gardening very much, but I think that I think your dad mentioned about your bucket experiments with potatoes and tomato plants. I've done it with tomato plants before. I think it's one important thing with any kind of container gardening or bucket gardening, if you want to have a big enough container to hold that root zone, otherwise the plants have very early because the roots don't have anywhere to go. You can be very successful. But also, you want to pick that is not necessarily yet as big but are still good producers already started. There are container specific varieties of any plant. I think now a lot of your greens, you can put them in a container that's only six inches deep and expect to get a good harvest out of it. But if you have like a greenhouse or something set up, packed plants from the fall, your container or bush variety of cucumbers, work better in a container. Your sweet peppers or hot peppers will also work better, so like grape tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, or current tomatoes. Much, much smaller than your standard size bell peppers, and they'll do a lot, and you're right, they'll do a lot better in containers. Hey Joe, I'm being reminded that the call-in line can't sit there for too long because it is a... I'm going to say thank you for the information, we're going to let you go. All right, take care, folks. Thanks for calling in. We've also got the hunting seasons are coming up for the northern state. And that's something else you can look at. But hunting is a nice help from one to your garden. Of course, you've got to get some protein, some meat in there. Animal husbandry is another good avenue source food. Small critters like chicken. small group of chickens. You can have eggs produced. Dad's been talking about the goat milk, which the mom has too. They've all been really impressed with what the neighbors have been doing with the goat milk production. It's just pretty cool. Dad's been going over and dosed in the afternoon. Of course, you've got to take care of those animals as well and get them prepared for the fall season also. Make sure you've got the straw straw hay and everything that they need to get them through the winter onto the other shine. You can also, you can supplement some of that too with raking your leaves if you're going to use it for compost. You could also, as long as they get really dry, and put them into the animal with the straw or the hay if you don't have that for the insulation for the animal. So we've got, well actually it might be taxidermy. Leatherworking, taking the fur of the animals that you catch and you turn around and using it for anything that you can get a hold of that'll keep you warmer. That's knowledge. It would be nice to have on hand in the knowledge to be able to deal with it when the time comes. That's going to be one of those industry things that will come back into play again here when stuff hits the fan. If you can make warm clothing and other people don't know how to, that's in this you can use. We covered the automotive of the Gaurd. I think pretty much to death now. I think we could sure probably move into your personal preparation. I'm not sure if we stood out down there. I'm like a kid. It's 1968. Again, that's 887 1968. If you want to call, if you got a question, comment. If you want to help out the micro effect you can go to www.themicroeffect.com. Click on the donation button and help keep the station on the air. You guys know that they've been going through, sure they could use the help. Again, that's the micro effect.com. Show Joe and the family that you guys are doing. Just drop whatever you can in the tip jar and you can leave them a message, but it'd be nice to leave a good job. Okay, 948 AM. good morning person so I apologize people. Another good thing to have on hand for preparation is water filters and there are several different options that are on the Berkey water filters are a good solution. You got to start that and wait for it to get done but this is a particular side of the water and making it safe to drink. So that's one thing you can look at the water filter department. People are asking about that. That's not a bad thing but you know what the water is being filtered anymore just finding the... But none of them... Not that I'm aware of. Gangrene and stuff because their medical was... Anyway, it wasn't the Civil War where they were using the same filter one guy's wound and then going to the next. It's a clean water. Oh yeah, they never drink it's clean water. I wonder, Don, I know... where you are up in your neck of the woods. We've got some pretty good game up in Michigan. Yeah, that's something else that we can do is setting date piles, draw the property for the hunting season, food in a survival situation. We've got apples. Some of them have already, their time is coming gone, but if you've got any bad apples sitting on the ground, you can collect those up, put them in a pile on the edge of your property, and just watch the little furry animals that come in to eat them. Yep. When you get away from the city, this time of year it's real hard to keep one place for all but four. The reason why we have so many, the weeks that go in and the places where we didn't. If we were just to back off cultivation, it's one of the ways to keep gear on your land and even others like clover in there. Another nice thing is the clover, not only good for the deer, that's good for you. I draw the gear into his property, but he would also go off the pink or the purple clover flowers. And he would use that in salads. It's very sweet and it's very good for you. It tastes pretty good. And it comes over to, because here in Michigan, time where you couldn't date with more than a five gallon bucket, you couldn't carry anything into the field and dump out. Oh yeah. Somebody keeps down the spread. I'm not going to have to agree, but when push comes to shove and stuff hits the pan, you know, I think certain rules are going to go out the window with some people.
