At Live 365, we'd like you to meet a few of the 7,000 personalities behind our 7,000 stations. Hi! Of course, we couldn't fit them all behind one microphone to greet you, but you get the idea. Now, a word from our competition. Cool! A talking computer? That's nifty! Hear the difference people can make on Live 365. Radio with more personality. Live 365. Those were torn and dirty as you stood there by my bed. He took off his three-cornered hat, and speaking low to me, he said, We've fought a revolution to secure our liberty. We wrote the Constitution as a shield from tyranny. For future generations, this legacy we gave. In this, the land of the free and home of the brave. The freedoms we secured for you we hoped you'd always keep. But tyrants labored endlessly while your parents were asleep. Your freedom's gone. Your courage lost. You're no more than a slave. In this, the land of the free and home of the brave. You buy permits to travel and permits to own a gun. Permits to start a business or to build a place for one. On land that you believe you own, you pay a yearly rent. Although you have no voice in saying how the money's spent. Your children must attend a school that doesn't educate. And your Christian values can't be taught. According to the state. You read about the current news in a regulated press. And you pay a tax you do not owe to please the IRS. Your money is no longer made of silver nor of gold. You trade your wealth for paper so your life can be controlled. You pay for crimes that make our nation turn from God and shame. You've taken Satan's number. You've traded in your name. You've given government control to those who do you harm so they could burn down churches and seize the family farm and keep our country deep in debt. Put men of God in jail. Harash your fellow countrymen while corrupted courts prevail. Your public servants don't uphold the solemn oaths they've sworn. And your daughters visit doctors so their children won't be born. Your leaders send artillery and guns to foreign shores and send your sons to slaughter fighting other people's wars. Can you regain the freedoms for which we fought and died? Or don't you have the courage or the faith to stand with pride? And are there no more values for which you'll fight to save? Or do you wish your children to live in fear and be a slave? O sons of the Republic, arise, take a stand, defend the Constitution, the Supreme Law of the land, preserve our great Republic and each God given right, and pray to God to keep the torch of freedom burning bright. As I awoke, he vanished in the mist for whence he came. His words were true, we are not free, but we have ourselves to blame. For even now as tyrants trample each God given right we only watch in tremble too afraid to stand and fight If he stood by your bedside in a dream while you were asleep and wondered what remains of the freedoms he fought to keep What would be your answer if he called out from the grave? And good afternoon ladies and gentlemen, this is the afternoon intelligence report I'm R. Korky one day closer to victory for all of our brothers and sisters both on and behind the lines in occupied territories Central West Southeast and East Well, ladies and gentlemen, you were listening to us on LibertyTreeRadio.4mg.com, PBN.4mg.com, and we are on live 365. Then go to Liberty Tree Radio. We're also on AM and FM microstations, CB base stations, and alternate technologies both east and west of the Mississippi along with southern and central Alaska. We're on the Hallmark Network, eastern seaboard, top of Maine, bottom of Florida. Bottom of Florida, because the arc of the Gulf of Mexico, headed to Louisiana, Texas, Oklahoma. Big chunk of Nebraska, a whole bunch of Wyoming to include both the pit and the third then winging our way across the plains leaping with our little tippy toes touching the water as we sweep across the big muddy slash the Mississippi kind of like a Korean masha-hot expo, he walking in the water! Yeah, ching, ching, ching, ching, remember that. Yeah, emo williams ever was yeah, okay well anyway then landing in the smokies with the restaurant crews grandma teams the okay teams and then up in the Cleveland, Ohio the Ma Bill grandma consortium of retired telecommunications workers who are doing their part to make sure they get the job done Building a replacement for the internet remember guys it has to be freestanding if it's just running in their system They're gonna find it shut it down now. We can do that for a while, but remember they will find it they will shut it down. That is the agenda to cut the people off from free communications. So we have to change that. We have to build it. It still costs something, it costs time, it costs resources, but it's worth it. Anyway, we are looking at the 21st of October. It is the 4th year of open Fabian socialist and Soviet socialist occupation of America with a K 2011 heading towards 2012 were ticking down the clock October is three weeks gone already as of today That's three full weeks gone. So gotta watch that again. Weather here has been medium Average for the season nothing. It's a surprise in fact pretty well been classic fall weather for the whole of the season. We're getting usual fall rains on and off, fortunately not snow, but some point that's going to happen. And the fuzzy caterpillars got special long sections of color on them. along with what we saw in the way of the different types of fruit production, etc., and other indicators. Yeah, we got a winter coming, so a real one. So be ready for it. It's a typical Michigan winter. That means in the UP, snow up to the eaves. Guys, up in the UP, they get snow up to the eaves every year. I know, I was up there, okay? Oh, look, outside the window, it's white. Why? because the snow is up to the window. That's why. It's not just a blizzard out there, the blizzard already happened. If you get past the door, it's blue sky. If you can get out and pass the door, sometimes it takes almost a full day to be able to get out past the door to get out to the yard. Yeah, let's just dig in your way out guys. So anyway be prepared for that. If you have not already done this, remember this is Quartermaster Friday by the way. Remember to change out or to supplement your gear if your backpacks have not been reconfigured for winter operations they better be. Because let's say you were to deploy right now. Well, it's only the fall mark. This is cold wet. This is even more dangerous than cold dry. Cold dry yeah, you can take your glove off and touch something and it's so cold your fingers freeze to it automatically You don't have to attach your tongue remember like yeah, the Christmas story I double-dogged area well You don't have to stick your tongue on the metal just bare skin with a little bit of moisture And it's like Indiana Jones the remember the first movie with the guy grabbing the medallion Only it's cold. Anyway, point is you need to have all your gear squared away and replacements. Lots and lots and lots and lots of replacements because you're going to get wet. Wet kills when temperatures drop. wet kills. Your Cordura materials, your different plastics, whatever you're going to be using. Any of the propolines, whatever you've got for wet weather gear, make sure that you've got a spare poncho, make sure you've got extra rain suits. Try to get them in the tactical camouflage, matches up with the rest of your gear or at least for the season. Remember you're looking into browns and tans. You're looking into the shades that you know where we've seen the plant life die off so your shade range is going to be a little lighter in general. That's just something I want to remind everybody of. Make sure you keep that in the inventory. You'll bring basket. Also, you may be out there long enough if this thing starts saying in late fall that you'll be there through the winter. So the snow camouflage gear better be packed away, at least a snow cover. Now I'll tell you what, best place to find those things, mainmilitary.com and centerfiresystems.com both have pretty good prices on combos which number one it's the US or forgive me the Swiss Alpine flash poncho which is a of course rare order well it's a red-based dapple granite camouflage The other item that's available with that set is the German Snow Camouflage Pine Frawn Ponchos. Both those are excellent camos. Both of those are kind of nice to have around. And the Snow Camo item can be rolled up real tight, tight, tight and then vacuum sealed and stuck in the core of the backpack so that if you need it, you've got it. Okay, just something to think about there. It'll break up your pattern quite dramatically just to have that simple camouflaged German snow poncho. That's one of the solutions and both CenterfireSystems.com CenterfireSystems.com CenterfireSystems.com and MainMilitary.com MainMilitary.com have both those and the German or American snow camouflage suits which are both the pants and the jackets the assault jackets. They're designed to cover the parkas so they will easily cover pretty much any other coat that you have out there. Remember that the snow camouflage has blousing bands just like the M65 field jacket. They have a mid-waist and they have a baseline blouse for the US one. Germans are pretty well set up the same way, plus you have a blouse for the hood so you can tighten it up and either use it as a neck, wrap around, or cinch it. And what I usually do is take a sewing thread and do little tacks so that the thing doesn't slip away and you create a dark patch you don't really want out there if you're going to snow camo. You tack the snow cover over your jacket and then just cut the thread later when you're done. Each is just a way to deal with it. I've got a couple N2B snorkel parkers, that's what I've done for years and just leave them that way because they're typically combat winter equipment anyway. Now, I'm going to do this again. It's payday. You guys may have some resources available and a lot of you are looking for uniforms. Some of you are going to take advantage of this and have shown me the uniforms. The quality is excellent. I'm very satisfied with them. Rap4.com www.rap4.com They have in their clearance section $15 a top don't go the sets because that's five dollars more. Why would you do that? $15 a top $15 a bottom guys Make sure you take you know tag the right subject here even up to 4x It's only $15 and that's really where you save if you guys need any big clothing for anybody You can't beat this price period. I don't care. These are brand new. You can't say oh my god somebody else is warning them they can be contaminated. No, these are brand new. you've got, let's go through the color bases, you've got ACU for those who really think you need ACU you've got black you have some CAD-PAT but you guys bought all that up a lot of the CAD-PAT stuff has been grabbed we also invest, include jackets and pants, there's only some and they only have a 4X in the pants right now you guys have been buying stuff up even since the last time I checked three color desert digital camo BDU woodland or MarPat DPM camouflage British Multi cam a eight color desert camo, which is basically a knockoff of the multi cam and for you guys There's only three items left there. So you guys clean them out on that one German Fleck tar only four items left there 2x in the pants, but if you need 4x Wait a minute. Let's see to do to do. Yeah to 2x. Oh man, just since we did this the other day The only two are left are 2x and 4x in the shirts So the FLECTAR is pretty well being run out the rest of the way. OD Green, they have a lot of. So if you're looking for a uniform, a base uniform that pretty well goes with everything. OD Green tops and bottoms. And again, 15 to top, 15 to bottom. Tiger Stripe, they still have a pretty good selection, but we don't know how much truly they have left. They've got extra large, 2x, 3x, and 4x in the jackets, and size small. They have 2x, 3x, 4x. Well, actually, extra large, 2x, 3x, and 4x in the pants. So if you're looking for a tiger stripe, there's a solution there. Urban camo, the black, white, and gray, which looks like woodland, but it's in the gray shades. 15 to top, 15 to bottom, and they pretty much have all sizes. In the woodland camouflage, Oh, it's a mix. You'll have to look to see what they have. They do have some jackets and pants. Look, and we're down to about, what, two, four, no actually two, four, six selections, six sizes, that's it, in pants and jackets. You guys did a good job of clearing those out. These numbers have shifted just since I mentioned it on the air the other day. So for everybody out there, they also have vests. Now what size best they have left they have mediums and larges these are basically a molly one type system but with a more of a the rigid vest rather than the mesh vest I actually prefer this design it'd be more for a tempered environment anyway but they the price is thirty dollars for the regular sizes thirty five dollars for the large These magazine pouches look to be big enough to handle AK47 30 round mags and can probably even handle the 40 rounders the way they're set up. So... For you that are looking for a solution, this gear will take a pistol belt on the base, the vests will, and has molly slips on the sides. Which means all this other cheap stuff I've been pointing out from Maine Military and other places, including the pistol belts, would go right on this gear and you can kit this thing out however you want. They do have several different patterns. It appears that more of the desert shade patterns are dominant. One of them is the DPM Desert Pattern and they also have the Australian Desert. Now the Australian Desert has enough color shading that it will probably match up with the Alpine Flage quite nicely. So if you're based on the Alpine Swiss, it could go to the Australian Desert and that would compliment and then add the rest of the gear and whatever colors and shades you want to match up. So a solution not just lamenting about the problems. Oh, what do we do? Well for all you got big uniforms come on if you aren't taking advantage of this or something wrong You can't even buy the material for these clothes for $15 a top and 15 a bottom and a 4x or a 3x So if you got people who need big uniforms because they don't just had to be oh, it was really fat It's not just that guys I need 4x and 5x because we got people that are 6 foot 8 6 10 almost 7 feet tall and if they don't get that size they don't get the length. Plus they're just proportionally correct in size and they're big. So something else to think about there, you might have some big guys out there need to be outfitted, they've been running around in the wrong clothing, get all your team squared away so they all look good as part of the Esprit de Corre policy too. You look good, you train well, you don't feel good about yourself. Congratulations. And of course it's shoot no shoot friend foe. That's the other part about that Maybe be good everybody in the same uniform if they're with your team Other things here real quick main military as I said the last hours got some new stuff on the page You're gonna want to go through it and scroll through it because Apparently, I think Frank has done some deals with the DoD Usually you do closed bid you don't know what you're gonna get until they come through and say attaboy You got the bid so you're gonna want to go through and see what's new on the page there The other thing, and I know that again tonight remember, Quartermaster Friday will have BK up with us on the air. We have... MRE Depot's got some sales going on right now. Again, that is www.mredepo.com. That's www.mredepot.com. Take the time to go to that page, MREdepot.com. They've got some decent buys on components but also on canned products right now guys. They still have the canned Yoder bacon which is a good choice. MREs, menu C military MREs with heaters. I'm not excited about the heaters but some people forget there are a lot of other things you can do with the heaters. not necessarily eat the food. So just something to think about there. The other thing is they have a couple of mixed cases. One case 12 cans of Future Essentials canned dried meat combos. Now where this is handy is you don't have to use the whole can in a meal guys. But just to throw a percentage of this into a mix. Let me give you probably the best example of what I'm talking about here. Like when we're in the field and Ed's had this a couple of times and we've been camping. Take your standard US mess kit. Remember it's got a bowl type on one side, it's got a double bin on the other. Take the bowl, make sure that's down. Then take my favorite ramen noodle packet. There you go. That's not real complicated. A ramen noodle packet. Break it up a little bit if you can, but still leave it fairly solid in the center. In other words, leave it like a square pile. Then you can take and get into your MRE main course pouches, chicken a la king, whatever you got that's whatever main course is. Rip that open. Pour that over the whole of that ramen noodle. Okay? Now then take a little bit of water, in fact ideally if you've warmed up the water with your canteen cup on the edge of a fire or if you're using your heat tabs, heat up the water, pour it into the MRE pouch, make sure you seal it up with your fingers, shake it around and then pour that onto everything that's inside the MRE can. Then from your other little pouch pull out your TVP or in this case as they're saying essential the future essentials can freeze dried meat combos okay grab a little bit of that out of one of the containers you've got open sprinkle that over top of that menu if you want to take your pepper pack take the salt pack add some salt to that throw some hot sauce if you feel you need it I mean personally I don't think you're gonna need hot sauce just to disguise the flavor and once you've got a little bit of water in there and you got everything sitting then Like a Dutch oven, take the top, the double pin side of that MRE, uh, forgive me, of that mess kit tray, put it on top of the MRE, uh, slash the, uh, Ramen noodle pack. Oh, by the way, one last thing. I know, boy, man, you're in some salt. You're going to be in the field, guys. You're not even going to think twice. You won't even notice this. Uh, take that pouch that has the flavoring open up, pour that all over everything too. Add some more flavoring. Flavoring's good and calories are good and salt is good in the field. you are sweating every day. You are carrying 80 pounds or 60 pounds of junk on your back. You will use up minerals. You won't even notice what you're going to be putting into your system. You're going to wish you had more. Okay? Now you can either slide that whole little Dutch oven kit take that handle and put it right over on top of the lid or use it to whole control it if you got a little campfire going slide it over to the edge of the campfire and just let it sit there on the edge of the rocks or right on the edge of the fire where it's just almost touching the burn if you've got an MRE German stove or one of the heater stoves lay it on top of that and go to town Now let it boil, it's going to come to a boil. It's not going to take very long because it works like a Dutch oven. You've actually got a lid on this main course that you put together. Now you're going to love the smell. No, it's smelling tasty. And on top of that, by the time you're done, you end up with a pretty decent meal and it's all stuff that's pre-packed. It's all pre-measured. You're gonna get just what you need out of there to eat. And again, it's MREs. People are gonna be asking, you know, it's MREs. Yes, those are MREs. It can be whatever main course. Chicken a la king. You can even use another carbohydrate. You can use, for instance, there are several of the pasta packs like cheese and macaroni or cheese and shells. Those are in the MRE pouches. You can spread that right over top of that. Remember you're going to throw the TVP in there also or the free stride meat in chips and then you're going to throw the other flavor pack on. Trust me, that's going to be a very filling meal. It's going to be warm. It's got good flavor. It's going to keep you happy. Again, a simple MRE pouch, one, and I took one MRE pouch typically, or a C-ration, I would stretch it out over the day. I would not eat a single big meal. I would eat a series of meals like this where I'd combo stuff. That way it'd go farther. And again, it tasted pretty darn good. Now spices and flavoring, that's up to you. So just something to think about it's quick and easy to the ideas use minimal energy by the way The old story goes as the Indians used to say white man builds a fire to heat the woods The Indian you know he builds a fire big enough to keep him alive Now what we mean by that is not even really a fire and actually a small little Cup or a little hobo stove is enough to actually keep you going This is also true with regard to food operations when it comes to cooking By the way, those peach sized cans make pretty good hobo stoves. So if all else fails and you don't have a German, you know, one of those little German fold out stoves guys, improvise, adapt and overcome. When we used to have the scouts out there for competitions, one of the things we used to do is there was a competition to see how quickly you can boil water with existing materials, awfully in other words, with everything off the countryside. A little bit of grass, a little bit of moss, dry, dry, dry, along with then sticks, smaller sticks and then medium sized sticks, but all parched wood. or birch bark, whatever you can find. The idea is that making a little hobo stove or making a little stand off with rocks, you've got a canteen cup, how quickly can you boil a cup of water? You're not trying to, you know, you don't need any more heat than is necessary to get that water to temperature. Once it's to temperature, whatever you want to rehydrate is going to do just fine. And in fact by the time it's sucked in the moisture and pulled in those calories slash heat and then it's starting to cool back down and it's about time to heat. By the time it's rehydrated, especially the freeze dried, it will be ready to go and it will be at edible temperatures, not going to burn you. Something to think about there. You also have to be disciplined. If you're hungry, man, I've watched people scarf stuff down and wonder why they couldn't feel their taste buds. Talk about Indiana Jones. Hey, you got a mark on your tongue. Yeah, I know There's a reason for that anyway, MRE Depot. They've got one case 12 cans of future essentials can freeze-dried meat combo price $129 and five cents Retail normal 143.40. In reality, the way this is set up, and especially with the way they do these, what I like is that it's a combination. You've got six cans of freeze-dried chicken, and you've got six cans of freeze-dried ground beef. That's fine. The advantage here is that when the time comes, you can mix it up as you wish to so that you're not going to be looking at food fatigue. How would I do that? Well, today, a can of freeze-dried chicken Next time we open something up freeze-dried beef next time we open up back to the chicken Okay back and forth. There's six changeouts. You know back and forth twelve different meals total So that means you're not just eating the same flavor every day now personally if it's a choice when that starving doesn't bother me any but a lot of other people are worried about whether or not they're gonna I guess be a gourmet cook in the field Knowing what I know about the Air Force and military operations and historically in the past that I've experienced, my personal experience, I'd be happy to have something to eat. You ever tried to eat cardboard? You ever had to chew on cardboard just because it might be something that would kind of fill you up? Oh, don't ever expect the Air Force to drop anything on you. Trust me, except maybe ordinance. And usually they'll miss with the food, but they'll hit you with your own bombs every time. Anyway, just something to think about there. As it is, a couple of other things. I had another question and it was a part of an email that came in here on Wednesday and I was going to try and work this in on Weapons Wednesday. The quick overview. Well, Mark, if you go out there and buy something, or if you had to go out and buy right now, what would you buy? Well, obviously, we've got the high-end shopping list, but for somebody who's coming in late in the game right now, The AKs are just simply the most reliable rifle out there for availability and mags. User friendly in that, no matter what you do, pretty much the thing will keep running. It's a Singer sewing machine on steroids. But it's the AR-15M16 combat toss-up is the first issue. And for the most part, What? Whatever weapon I choose it's got to be something where if I give it to somebody is it gonna function first time every time are they gonna be able to you know a Develop skill with it the ak would probably still be your best price going in Obviously in lowest end is the nagat rifle so real quick. Where would I go a quick short list? NAGOT rifle from AIM surplus or from Centerfire systems or from whoever has the best price right now. Going to be on an FFL, going to be paperwork, so if you were saying, oh I just had to go out and buy it or you had to go out and buy it, get one of the NAGOT rifles, grab 440 rounds of ammunition right away, pick up utility mag pouches, stream up the utility Russian pouches to hold the ammunition in because it's built for it. Try to find stripper clips. I would look for a personal hand cannon. Right now, still the best price, AIM Surplus is the Nagat revolvers. They do have them. They're $110 apiece. They're a military revolver. They're seven shot. They work beautifully. The quality of the weapons that are there right now is excellent. Ammunition is available through AIM Surplus. and through a number of other sources to include our guns. Pre-V Partisan is what I would buy first because it's fresh ammo, it's new ammo, and the quality is very high. The next thing, and I wouldn't worry about a holster because a holster comes with it, so guys you don't have to worry, you're going to get a decent holster, you're going to get all the cleaning gear with it. You're going to want to get another cleaning kit, so here's the trick, go out and get yourself an AK cleaning kit for that Nagat. Everybody goes, what? Well, you might recall that the Russians in World War II made sure that everything was 30 calibers. So guess what? If it's a 7.62x39 or 7.62x51 cleaning kit, it will clean your Nagat revolver just fine. It will work for all the problems that need to be dealt with. More brushes, cleaning brushes, solvent, lubricant containers. So one of those HK kits would be fine too and they're cheap, cheap, cheap. Whatever is cheapest in a 30 caliber military cleaning kit. buy three or four of them if they're on sale or if they're cheap. Then in gear, hey right now main military go to the LTR special section or again go to the ARG guns option or forgive me that ARG guns, RAP4 for the vest if you think you need a vest. If you think you need a vest for thirty to thirty-five dollars you can't beat it. Pick the color that makes sense for your environment or for the average environment you're working in. For the details and other support items go to main military. Two canteens, one butt pack, a pistol belt on that vest, or using suspenders, I'd put a TA90 gear or a TA56 rig together. I would make sure that I would adapt those Tokarev slash Nagot magazine pouches to that standard US gear, and I'd have more than just two pouch sets of pouches. I'd actually do a couple of assault rigs and do a little stitchery. so that I had a vertical mount on the suspenders set up and I'd make it so that it was rigid so that it wouldn't flop around. Then, I would of course add my pistol belt, add additional mag pouches, or a couple of the other utility pouches like the saw bags that we were talking about. So I'd have carrying stations for more gear. As far as a backpack goes, right now any of the NATO packs that are available, there's Swiss for about $14. You can find, remember we've got the one source for Alice packs, two for $50 with the frame. purely a matter of again what we fight to go to one place main military's got a number of backpack so does center fire systems and i could put a quick pack together as far as loading it dollar store special and go through and see what you can find in your local wally worlds and other places or odd lots to fill it up as far as food goes cheapest for the most is fastest to get to a level of preparedness purely a matter of your creativity and many of you have more time than I do because I got so many irons in the fire but if it were me I would go cheapest for the mostest that's my attitude in general. It can be zip cans, it can be pouches or retort pouches but I would make sure that I have a hell of a lot more than just three days worth of food supply on board and again if you're going to pack up a backpack make sure that there is a vitamin supplement of some kind on board. Some people go with the protein powders, weight lifting protein powders, which is true. The creatine and all these others, they have a massive amount of material that keeps you going. And you are not going to be used to what the energy and the calories that you're burning. Your body's going to be craving very quickly. So to prevent the craving problems that are going to you know create distraction The multiple vitamins combined with a lot of other goodies and snacks If you're used to drinking a lot of coffee probably want to add a lot of instant coffee to the kit But you better be cycling down and weaning yourself off of the coffee The caffeine's are going to consume or burn other minerals and vitamins that you really really really need to stay healthy if you're going to be in the field So on the one hand everybody goes Mark, you don't want me to quit my coffee. Well, I'll tell you what you don't have to quit it But remember if you cut back on it when you use coffee as a stimulant Which is what it was intended to be and you use it under certain conditions You'll be amazed at how much more effectively it works again It's become a habit. It needs to become a tool A useful tool, same with tees or anything else that are out there. Chickery even can be used the same way. In addition to headgear, now getting into uniforms and gear, I've given you solutions. I can't find any better prices for used stuff or for the Swedish or the OD green surplus stuff. As you know, as I pointed out, the older stuff is better. You're going to have to shop to find the right patterns. DPM camouflage is out there in pretty good sizes right now on the LTR specials the m95 jackets So personally if I were looking for stuff I'd go the DPM for the moment I mean because it seems to be the most affordable. There's it if I shop around I can find all the other pieces I need Pants are available. There's headgear. Hey, if all else fails I can break out the magic markers and the writ die and I'll make some copy-up stuff with some base color material like OD green, you know hats and you won't know the difference until you get really close and do I really care? I'm not going to make a fashion statement. I'm trying to just blend in. See, I'm not worried about whether or not I'm pretty or pass the latest inspection for whatever the latest video game is. Sorry guys. Instead, I'm from the, the, if it works and it, you know, if it's stupid and it works and it's not stupid, you know, family. If it gets the job done and it was cheap and free, the money I saved there is money I can spend in other areas. Most important is your comfort gear. And that's where you need to spend money. Right now Maine military has got some fantastic, still has some fantastic buys on cold weather gear. Is it starting to get chilly in your neck in the woods? Well if you go to the clearances, again if I were outfitting right now, those Swedish combat trigger finger mittens are $3 a pair if I buy, well let's see how many do I have to buy. Oh, I'm sorry, new. Ten pack for $29. Yeah, $3 a pair. Wow. or three-pack for $9.99. It's your choice. If you got a bunch of people out fit, I'd go the 10-pack. If you for a few pennies more, if I only needed to outfit for myself, I get a three-pack. There's three sets of mittens. I'll put one in the backpack. I'll be having put one on my gear and I'll have another one. I'll put one of those sets of mittens in the front left popcorn pocket of my pants. And the reason for that is because they're going to get wet. I'm going to want to change them out and I'll cycle the both them out and the liners progressively. The other thing I need is a gas mask and I need a chem suit. Go to Maine Military. I know I keep going back to them, but that's because I know they got the gas masks. I know they've got the chem suits. Now Numeric Arms slash Gun Parts Company has the best price for the finish gas masks and they've got the best price for the filters. So that would be your first direction to go. But if you're trying to just pick it all up in one place, Maine is an excellent option, the best way for one-stop shopping, so to speak. Again, if you scroll around, you'll find that there are different price listings, depending upon what you quote. And you want to get the best price, get the most for the least, guys. The chem suits, by the way, DPM camouflage. So if I progressively keep adding more and more of that DPM, I've got a good pattern. It's got some earth browns in it. Hey, you'll get the job done. I can get those vests in the DPM camo too. Hey, wow by the time I've done it, I'll be pretty well consistently kitted out Helmets now, let's catch this catchkin there. There's a mix of different types that have been available There are some knockoff European models, Norwegians, Swedish, etc of the US M1 steel pot Personally, those are the best way to go. You can find them for between $9.50 and about $18 apiece All the US military helmet covers will go on those. You can also cut material and make a camouflage cover that will match, but you can find the, oh let's see, the Dutch version of the DPM camo in a camouflage cover that will fit that standard US M1 type steel pot. So your camouflage pattern will be pretty much consistent. The Dutch has more of the tans and the browns than the green range of the DPM British, but it will still match up well enough that nobody's going to know the difference. And again, am I worried about fashion statement? I'm looking for pattern simulation, you know, similar pattern lines so that I blend in better in the environment. Anyway, hopefully I gave you some ideas there. It's a quick overview, but NAGAT would be a good starter weapon. I might go with a B-square scope mount, as I mentioned before, and I might put a scope on it. On the other hand, that's my interim, my long-range standard battle rifle. The next step, I'm going to pick up something in a semi-automatic rifle as I can afford to. So I'd be shifting my gear out perhaps or setting up a second kit. Another reason to buy multiples from main military when you get those three packs and four packs and five packs is I can set up an entire rig for an AK-47 when the time comes or for an AR-15 if I choose to go in that direction. Now I know also the AK-74 is an option and right now the Sega rifles, there's been a few sales, not many, but there are a few sales on the older inventory. I will remind everybody not to be frustrated on this because if they sell out, just like we saw with the .308s, the .308s went from being a $350 rifle to being a $580 rifle now. Now that's visions of things to come as far as where things are going to go The cool thing is that and now thanks goat monk for posting it with a nagat revolvers Jg sales has the nagats also So it's an option to either go with aim surplus or JG sales. They do have the ammunition I'm pretty sure J and JG sales comm has them too now Another thing is medical support as far as emergency gear and as far as where you're going to go for that you're going to have to shop around the different surplus companies. We have been cleaning out whole companies of their medical support. That is another minority item just like gas masks. Gas masks are all pictures. Whenever you see a surplus store gas masks are always included. Why? Because it's just a neat item. However, they're also the first thing to disappear when any kind of crisis develops. Have you noticed? Not only do they disappear, they just plain aren't replaced right away if they're replaced at all. In some cases, the guy just doesn't have a connection. Well, for that reason, medical support should be thought of the same way. Everybody thinks that that medical bag or those compressors are always going to be there until one person walks in and buys all the inventory, and then everybody goes, well, where are those compressors? I was going to pick some up, but I figured I'd wait. Oh, then one person came in about two days ago and he said, how much do you have on the shelf? And I gave him a package deal on everything. It is too late. You are not going to get any more. I cannot find any to buy. Everyone has been doing this. Well, that is what's going to be the case. That is the case right now with many categories. So if you have connections with EMTs, medical personnel, you might want to think about starting to ask, hey, do they have toss outs or throwaways or stuff they're getting rid of? If you got anything, can you kind of toss it my way? And I appreciate the fact we've had several of our friends that have actually done this. We have routed material and support equipment to our friends in militia medical units, especially the Michigan Wolverine medical units up north. Michigan militia units there have a mix of formations and we have several different medical sections and evacuation units that serve one purpose and one purpose only and that is to recover our people and to cycle them through and keep them alive. So it's a priority for me if I run into stuff and I have extras they get it gets routed to those people so that they can do their job. Another company, and by the way, several times you guys have posted this in the chat room, and I have not really mentioned them so far, and I better do this. It's another company, ArmyGear.net. ArmyGear.net. ArmyGear.net. For those people out there, because again, depending on where you are in the country, this might be a more accessible option for you too as far as their location goes. So if you want to look for another source or look at another source for material, it is armygear.net so I want to say thanks guys you provide the information and then it's like mark as well so busy talking I don't pay attention so in this case again thanks and armygear.net www.armygear.net Then go through there scroll through their catalog see what they have available It's a mix and of course a lot of stuff you'll recognize But everybody has some unique stuff that nobody else is carrying as many of or as much of Probably the best example and I will tell you I live in these things during the winter Mickey Mouse boots, okay Now they've got Mickey Mouse boots in seven regular seven wide eight regular and nine regular for thirty nine ninety eight. Okay, that's forty dollars, okay They have 10 regular, 11 regular, and 12 regular for $60. But they're new. Now these are the American ones. Now there are some French ones out there. The French continue to make Mickey Mouse boots after the US stopped. for a period of time and the Koreans made a copy also. Now I've used the Korean knockoffs and they work pretty well but the French ones are reasonably priced and have been as low as about 12-14 dollars in this last year. However I don't know anybody that's got them right off hand. There may be a few companies but the Mickey Mouse boots the biggest advantage although they are heavy. is for cold, wet weather, guys, I have had my feet completely immersed and literally fallen into water, pulled myself out or have been pulled out and while the rest of my body may be freezing, As long as you keep moving with these Mickey Mouse boots, you don't take them off. The Mickey Mouse boots are going to heat up and warm up. They maintain body temperature. You're not going to be chipping anybody out of there, at least out of their footwear. They might be freezing from the mid-calf up, but the boots themselves do the job. So I will first of all, you know, highly recommend if you're going to pick up a pair of Mickey Mouse boots, that would be a high priority. If you have the money for them, fantastic. And again, what are your toes worth? If your feet go, the rest of you follows. So especially for cold, you know, heading from cold wet through to cold dry, when you get in a cold dry, you're looking at extreme cold. And the mouse boots are just fantastic for that. I cannot rave about them enough, perhaps. Another goodbye here large Alice pack with frame and straps 2698 remember we're talking about the two for 50 Well, that's about as close as you're gonna get to that price 2698 so $27 for a large Alice pack with frames and straps ready to go People go large is kind of big. It's it's kind of a lot of material One of the things to remember guys is you're gonna go through a whole bunch of that stuff food ammunition water real quick It's not going to be as heavy as you'd think. In fact, it ain't going to take long before it's gone, gone, gone. OK? So the other thing I noticed on their specials, and this definitely is worthwhile. Oh, everybody's going to the Camel Pack. So the two liter canteens that everybody had to have are now not as popular. Well, they've got for $8.98, in other words, $9. O.D. Green Canteen. New M1 valve cap and used tan camel cover water, you know, two liter water canteen for $9. So that's not a bad price at all. By the way, if it's tanning, you don't like it. Did you remember what I mentioned earlier here? You can break that tan up in a number of ways. You can use spray paint. And by the way, I just checked at the dollar store here locally. They've got the Krylon cloth and plastic paint. It's a malleable polymer base and you can actually, you know, like, doppel this particular piece of gear so that it's actually camouflaged. Or you can break it up so that it isn't tanned anymore. without doing anything that's going to be detrimental. In fact, it'll break it up, I think, enough so that it'll actually be a pretty decent camouflage pattern. Something to think about there. So if you have tans and lots of tans, which you know we're going to run into, and it's not the best color for most of the states, if all fails, we can start changing it out. Mr. Sharpie in the wide, wide markers in, say, a black, a medium green, and a brown. It can make a pretty decent camouflage color over a savannah tan or over any of these desert colors. Or complement them. Does it have to be perfect? No. In fact, patterns kill. So break it up. OK. Anyway, hope we give you some ideas and thanks guys. I should forgive me I know the last couple days people have mentioned the company and it's been in the chat room army gear net army gear net of course remember main military is a sponsor I don't think army gear is a sponsor yet, but they want to be wouldn't hurt army gear net Other stuff before we go because we are almost at the top is gonna be taken over here in about another seven eight minutes is don't forget we have a new call actually dead I'm gonna problem have to deal with some probably not gonna be up with the guys at seven solid spike in the others you with that here we go and again LTR calling line is 712-4320 9 0 0 the LTR calling line 712-4320 9 0 0 And then the room number is 957-464 and the pound sign. Again, that's 712-4320900. And then 957-464 and the pound sign. And then we'll work on whatever again. As far as call-ins go, of course, we still have time today. If anybody would like to call in, not a problem. Before we go, let's see, there was one or two other things here. And I wanted to make sure, I mentioned batteries the other day, and forgive me, I could not find, and I'm trying to find another link, for a company that I was dealing with last year. And they're a little guy, but they had some great prices on AA rechargeables. They're not a regular battery company. In fact, I found them by accident. I'm going to have to look them up again, because I need some more AA's and AAA's in the rechargeables. and need them in quantity because of all the additional solar gear that we're finding right now. We're getting free. Time it takes to stop, pick it up, carry it home. What it comes down to. Last but not least. You know I was talking about how it would be kind of cool if kind of like we see overseas where people either act together The American protesters were outfitted just as well as the riot police on the other side Well, there is a company and again, I guess it's rather interesting. It's a German body armor. It's everything talked about German riot armor leg guards leg guard shin guards elbow guards wrist guards shoulder pads armored vest Gorg it to wrap around the neck and to the front along with the hand protectors and the top footy protectors all hard ballistic armor Anyway, including about a vest if you buy ten or more of these the price is $90 base and plus you still got to pay shipping but $60 a set if you buy 10 or more. Now in the five combo of five there will be only one medium and the four of them will be large. So that's pretty good size because these are Euro fours. The four are Euro large so they're going to be, the large should fit me comfortably. Anyway just something to think about. Anybody want to set up a riot police unit or at least have be outfitted the same way? Now the helmets are a separate purchase item. but I know where to get them and it's from the same company and this is a wholesale jobber so hey you could have some fun boom chocka-locka-locka-boom show up just as well outfitted as those guys in the black uniforms on the other side hey and your color uniform matches theirs I want to get a confusion that would create anyway we got a call who do we have hey Mark it's Kim from Wisconsin jump in there sir just taking some good notes and that uh is That's something that can be replaced at the time. If you have the proper tool. Usually they're pretty good about it. If you've noticed what they're doing, I would call and ask them, how do the rivets look? Because typically they know they don't want to get somebody angry. So what they'll do is they'll go through and they'll actually check the rivets and replace them. I used to do that. I used to buy this stuff by the ton and I would actually get broken e-tools, you know, the tri-fold, and Alice pack frames with a rivet shot, and of course we would just do a lot of pop rivet work. So that, you know, but I preferably want them to do it, and they typically will because they don't want a dissatisfied customer. So it's a catch-as-catch-can. I would call them and ask typically, 99% of the time nowadays, pop rivets are cheap and it keeps a customer coming back. Right, everybody wants their gear working the way they would expect it to. Find something that's broken. Another thing on that too is that remember it's something to keep in mind that you might want to get a little cheapie Chinese pop rivet kit and have that in your repair gear. Because the reason those rivets go bad is because they're only aluminum. They may have a steel shank or a hard aircraft aluminum shank for the core. But what happens is just with wear back and forth. Like we've said about MRE pouches, they're designed to handle 10,000 flexes. Well, that little rivets got two pieces of metal jinking back and forth, working like a little set of saber saws. But they're very slow. And every time that you move and your back moves and every time you're walking, plus you've added how many pounds to that frame, you're applying pressures in different ways. And that's what does those little rivets in. So something to think about is have spares on hand. Also, that's another reason to carry a variety of sizes of zip ties. Because if you're in the field and there's a failure, you may not carry a rivet gun. But if you carry a zip tie, you can poke out the, tap out the original rivet, and then poke the zip tie through and lock everything in that way. And it'll work fine, you know, for a period of time. What do you think about 100 mile per hour tape? It's called Troll Hunter. It's a Norwegian movie. But you know what? There's the guy that's the poacher. That's what everybody thinks he is at first. They think he's a poacher. Okay, I'm not going to ruin it for you. It's a real good... It's like I said, Blair Witch Project meets... Jurassic Park. Anyway, the thing is that one thing I thought was cute is the one kid gets great by something and they think it's a bear, right? The kids do. And the first thing the guy does, he breaks out, you know, he's cleaning up the guy's wounds, he's got a couple scratches, but the next thing he's doing is breaking out the hundred mile an hour tape and on the coat it goes. And the kids coat is, you know, it's fixed in about, well, looks like about three minutes, you know. And he was silver. He didn't worry about it blending in either, by the way. It was silver duct tape. And that's the telltale mark of the coat through the whole rest of the movie, by the way. So, the 100 mile an hour tape for what it was intended for. That's what it was just supposed to do. You got aircraft problems, fix it. Duck tape, where if you have tears or shreds, it's not going to look pretty. Now, the only difference is today we have camouflage duct tape. It's not like we can't buy that. Hell, you can buy it in every camo that exists now. And our hardware, yeah even in our hardware, we've got oak, we've got real tree, we've got woodland, we got zebra stripe, black and white. I don't know if that's natural but I guess we don't want winter operations to be fine. But there's a wide range of colors and it's all the same price. So you know if I was going to be between silver, earth brown would be another good color. Like I've said for years, as soon as 3M started doing electrical tape in colors, that's what I was buying. And Earth Brown is opposed to black because that Earth Brown is a little more natural for shade. So something to think about. One roll of electrical tape, a big roll, and a roll of duct tape of whatever shade, color, or flavor you feel is correct. But more is better there, so you, again, you want a heavier roll if you can find it. OK. And there's something else I want to caveat. I had the unique opportunity to go up to Upper Michigan, what it would have been this past weekend, and to visit one of my good friends up there and off into the bush because he's got a lot up there and I used to have the opportunity to get my gear 260 rounds of G3 ammunition, all mags, one of the rifle, March end there with the full pack of everything I would take if I was bugging out and that was a great opportunity to really get a feel for it. How much your gear, it's a lot of weight but also I had my camel back plus my two one-cords on my pistol belt you know, and just, you know, it's, you need all the stuff you need, and just training is, you know, people to get it, and they're not neglect to that aspect of their, uh, fairness. Exactly, you've got to exercise with it. I'm a young guy and even then I'm like man, it's a decent amount of weight. What do folks get up with? The other thing about that is by taking it out and testing it you also know where it's going to rub and where things need to be adjusted because again, we're building it for you. Each person is a little different. So once you get in the field you're going to find out, oh I need to move that. I got that spot in the middle of my back and you know what you think about it, you think, oh I can live with that. Well, in the first 20 paces you can, in the next 100 paces it keeps reminding you, the 200 pace mark you're going, God help me. And you realize, I should have changed this before this put that spot in my back. You know what I mean? So that's why you do take a long walk with it. Something else I also noted, being a service member myself, is that When I went out there, I had a hell of a lot more gear as an individual than your typical guy who's got the quarter masters and the logistics guys already setting up base camp downrange for you. You have to, you know, I got my own water filters, my MREs, and I got my shortwave radio, I got my hand mic radios, what your typical guy would carry. But you need to have that because you're kind of on your own. Right, we're our own supply sergeant. That's one of the things, remember, we're dealing with our militiamen, the average militiamen, actually outfitted the range of a heavy infantryman, like I've said many times, because we carry virtually everything to operate in the field on our own. And we own it. We own it ourselves too, which is really critical. So we're going to be a little more serious about taking care of it too. That's the other problem. Discipline and maintenance is a big problem in the regular services and it always has been until things get bad. When people finally realize it's serious, up until that point they have a tendency to waste food, waste water, etc. Sometimes people have to learn from pain and almost always that's the case with what you see with the regular services I've watched this over and over I've seen this now in three cycles You can tell everybody you know you need to do this we watch this happen with desert dust one And the only people that went overseas that were fully outfitted were people that you know were again had a certain level of training that was already expecting them to perform to combat level support with regard to Web Gear equipment, weapons systems, the whole nine yards. It's a real problem. Then they get out there, man, I wish I had this, and man, I wish, even guys I trained before Granada. You know, I pumped that into them. I mean, we did, seriously. And the guy said, you know what you told me about always having your stuff on your gear? And I'll tell you the one story that was cute is the guy said, yeah, we all thought this was a training exercise. And so we had most everything on our gear, but we'd been out for another FTX, and they loaded them all onto the planes, and they shut the doors, and they got off the ground. And everybody started going, wait a minute. And because they were trying to, it was all classified as you know, and they were supposed to be a ready up unit. And all of a sudden they're going, the sergeant starts coming down the aisle handing out the grenades and handing out additional ammunition and he's going through the checklist and they realize, man, I should have had this, man, I wish I had that. And it's what I said a million times and I've said it before, if you don't have it on your gear and you don't train with it, then when the time comes, you're not going to be used to the idea of it being where it needs to be when it is time to get in the field. Tell you what, we're at the top. We gotta go because it's a little past top of the hour now, by the way. We're gonna hear the music. And God bless the Republic. We'll shop for bail, ladies and gentlemen. The Empire's on the run. We're on the march for Santa. Hoorah! Well thank you sir, I'll tell you what, we got the guys taking over, Ed's got some work to do here at the station with the programming and to take care of the hardware. You all stay tuned, remember we'll be back with Quartermaster Friday 8 o'clock with BK right here on Liberty Tree Radio. Bye bye.
