When they used to be on the trains in northern Michigan, they'd send one or two men out. Back when he was a boy, he worked trains, he was a telegraph, by the way, he used to deliver telegraphs, telegrams here in the area when he was 11, in this area. But back up there, way up north, working on the trains, they'd send one or two men out on a Pullman car. They wouldn't come back. They'd go out and look for him. They'd find pieces of man everywhere. And sometimes a dead wolf, usually the wolf was eaten by the pack too, so there'd be chunks of wolf laying everywhere. And chunks of dead guys. If they found bodies at all. Usually they were kinda just dragged off and there would be blood, bits of pieces of hair, flesh and whatever. That's the thing about a situation like this, if you're attacked and killed, guess what? You can't live to tell about it. It's that plain and simple. Yeah, if you're in the backwoods and Mr. Bar gets like I said sometimes you get the bar Sometimes the bear gets you that's right. I remember that's that old DB Crockett dang a boom kind of thing So, you know, again in Pennsylvania, just a point, you know, I joke about bears in Maine, but apparently somebody, and they didn't migrate, it's just their cousins a little farther south and west. They've been busy the last few days. And it's probably mama bear, it's true, probably the dog was out in the yard, they were snooping for garbage, or they smelled something good in the garden, because that's what they'll do, guys. They'll come in and that old proboscis is going a mile a minute. Ever been a point blank with a bear? I have more than one. And that old proboscis, if they don't see you and they come up, and they have terrible eyesight. They really don't have good eyes. But if they smell you, oh, they will leave. But on the other hand, if there's baby bears, you want to start stepping back and making noise as quick as you can, because they will get agitated. So probably the dog was outside. The baby bears were out there, or a baby bear. Usually they have a... The way it works is like with deer. The first year, they have one cub, typically. The second year they have two and then they usually have twins from that point forward. That's why you see, you know, like, you know, two cubs. Oh, look, they're so cute. Well, you can usually gauge the age of a mother by in the same with does same with deer. If they have one doe with them, typically that's a first year drop. After that, you will find two. Now, how long this the second one survives is purely a matter of automobiles and predators. And we got a lot more predators in Michigan. We got all kinds of coyotes that need to be shot. But still we have a massive deer population. If you see a doe with two bay dogs walking with them, two fawns, that's a second year doe at least. Usually a senior doe. Somebody, you know, a deer that's been around a while and been car smart and predator smart. If it has one with it, it's either A, if it's late in the season, the other may be dead, or it's a first year drop. That's how it works. So in this case, Don, the bark came in the house. I did, but I was like, I said to Audible, and found this big guy, 6'6 tall, which is not a small person as we know. Oh no, big enough to handle a bear. Yeah, and somebody said 300 pounds, and he goes for a second, and somebody says, he's kind of heavy, and he's like, no, think about it, he's 6'6. You realize, well, we've got friends that are 6'8, 6'10 that have to duck, because I've got a fan in the living room, and I have to keep reminding them, duck for the fan. Yep. And then to be... Yeah for them to be 350 300 to be no big deal because you got a member add eight more inches to torso or whatever So that is probably what saved him and I guarantee you his wife Which of course the buyer decided he was gonna drag her on down the road maybe and stock her under the log Because what well, you know, they don't eat you right away That's why I always say like lay down and act like dead, you know, I can go out in the middle of nowhere Maybe they were lucky. We're watching you drag a bunch of leaves across come back later Yeah, because you're softer after you've rotted for a bit. You come apart. That's what that's all about. People will what? Oh, yeah, they see they don't eat you fresh. They want to stuff you under the log. It's kind of like an alligator. See what when an alligator attacks the same way when alligator grabs you and they roll after they roll they've broken yours. Oh, I'm sorry. Yeah, they break your legs and they break your arm and they break your spine and hopefully you're dead Then they take you down to their nesting area or their their territory and they stuff you under a log That way you're there for later dino din din, but you see when you're fresh you're tough to chew apart But if they wait a little bit the parts come apart easier and you're easier to nibble on yup There's another bear in Idaho. I thought grizzly bears came off the end, but then you had the human gotcha. We gotcha. Hey guys, uh I'm not much yet. So I'm not damn sure we should really appreciate as much as we've been two years out. I'm going to see a Vettie Strike. I'll give you an example on hard times. In this state, I hit a deer. Oh yeah. And like I said, this guy looked worse for wear. I mean, he looked like he was... Mike, I hate to tell you, but I have carried more deer home from car kills than I have from shooting them. In fact, I have... He pulled up right after it happened. I mean, the thing just stopped. He took it. Well, that's the whole point. If I know that you just hit it, I used to drive, like I've said many times, I used to run between Ann Arbor, Michigan and Lansing, Michigan, two to three times a night. I would run computer down in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Ann Arbor Bank and Trust, and we'd run the tapes up to Lansing. There's a stretch of expressway on 96 that I called Slaughter Highway. And people would see too, I mean the deer population is so heavy because it's, there's wheat fields, corn fields, soybean fields, green bean fields, for as far as you can see. And the deer population was so heavy that trucks, cars, everybody would hit the deer. I mean I could get five deer a night if I could carry somebody home. And the thing is... That's not an exaggeration either. No, no. In fact there was... Well, the thing about it is like we pointed out, first of all, we appreciate mama bear and what happened. I brought this up because you know, you got to be ready for stuff like this, no matter what. It's going to get worse. And with the economy, the way it is, yes, people are going to start eating more off the land. And we've said if they went out, if the people went out of the cities, even the sparrows would be consumed. That is going to be the case. But the government, this is why I brought up coyotes and wolves, the government has re-instituted these predators not to keep in check the other game, but to kill off the game because they understand what's going on. The socialists understand this, but make a mistake about it. Talk to a person who was from Russia during the communist regime. When they were there, there were no game in the woods. Because everybody was already starving. Once the Soviet Socialist, once the Committee Socialist, ruined the economy and destroy everything, which is what they've been doing, then what's going to happen is population is going to turn to the wild and they've already got a bunch of laws. So here's how you're going to fill up the concentration camps. He was killing the King's Deer. You're going to a concentration camp because you killed a squirrel. You were caught with squirrel meat in your pot while you were busy trying to feed your family who was starving. I guarantee that this will be, again, everything, once the socialists are totally in place, everything must be a crime. Everything. I don't care what you do. Yes, like I said, you heard me the first hour, staring out your back window, constantly looking in your rear mirror because you're afraid someone's gonna revenue your wallet. Everybody does that nowadays. Everybody's constantly looking around. What happens when all that goes away, all of a sudden you can actually breathe and focus on driving? What would we're what would the world do? What would the country do? How would it change everybody think about it just that actually? I'm sorry, right? You've got everybody, you know, or at the one church I read it, the one church nations went down like that and have went up in the last year. And that's just the people who have swallowed their pride and have wanted a food bank. A lot of people that are so deapriful, they've been down here seeing that food. Well, we need to relearn our history because we need to relearn our the basic rules. Like you were talking about being a glad blacksmith the other day. You know there are people here in Michigan who eat meat every day but have never tasted beef in their life. It's true. You know why? Because they eat deer every day. Nope. And they don't ask permission. That's going to be hard for me because I don't like to taste it. Somebody gave me some pine cones and stuff like that. Remember, when you have that, you need to go to the native recipes, and especially with all the traditional spices that were designed. Now, the Indian palate, native palate, is very different. They didn't have all the sweet sugars that we're all used to. So they have a very different recipe book from what we would use, and you're going to have to get used to that. And we talk about the natives. Well, they didn't have white sugar until we came along, and they didn't have even most of the natural honeys and things like that and berries. but the flavor range was very different. Here's another thing about Michigan. All of our deer are corn fed. They eat best of whatever the farmer grows. That's why the farmers want to get rid of what we call lot permits where you can get a handful of deer permits from the darn near Russian and you can kill 10, 20 deer on a farm and you won't put a dent in them. You know, female coyotes in Hetal walk into the edge of town and drag, literally, not drag, but, you know, equation here, male dogs outfishing cats. Yes, yeah, they reintroduced them out here. Boy, you want to hear one of them females when they're in heat. Oh, I know. We have bobcats here up north. I used to sit that night and listen to them until three in the morning. Wow! Wow! It sounds like someone's torturing a baby. I mean, they're back feet almost look like human baby footprints. Yeah.
