Mark Koernke discussed the UN Arms Trade Treaty and threats to Second Amendment rights, citing a letter from 45 Republican senators opposing the treaty and concerns that it could enable international gun control. He criticized both Democratic and Republican politicians for insufficient opposition, warning that ratification would harm American gun owners. The show featured extensive discussion of firearms and tactical equipment available through Maine Military, including Romanian AK variants, FN 5.7 pistols, and military surplus gear. A caller asked about trigger housing issues on a Mossberg shotgun, and Koernke provided detailed gunsmithing advice about using washers to address receiver separation. The episode concluded with a Phyllis Schlafly segment on federal budget reform.
I had a dream the other night that, well I didn't understand. A figure walked in through the mist with a flintlock in his hand. His clothes were torn and dirty as he stood there by my bed. He took off his three-cornered hat, and speaking low to me, he said, We've fought a revolution to secure our liberty. We wrote the Constitution as a shield from tyranny. For future generations, this legacy we gave. In this, the land of the free and home of the brave. The freedoms we secured for you, we hoped you'd always keep. The tyrants labored endlessly while your parents were asleep. Your freedom's gone, your courage lost, you're no more than a slave. In this, the land of the free, and home of the brave. You buy permits to travel and permits to own a gun. Permits to start a business or to build a place for one. On land that you believe you own, you pay a yearly rent. Although you have no voice in saying how the money's spent, your children must attend a school that doesn't educate, and your Christian values can't be taught according to the state. You read about the current use in a regulated press, and you pay a tax you do not owe to please the IRS. Your money is no longer made of silver nor of gold. You trade your wealth for paper so your life can be controlled. You pay for crimes that make our nation turn from God and shame. You've taken Satan's number. You've traded in your name. You've given government control to those who do you harm so they could burn down churches and seize the family farm and keep our country deep in debt. Put men of God in jail. Harash your fellow countrymen while corrupted courts prevail. Your public servants don't uphold the solemn oaths they've sworn. And your daughters visit doctors. So they're children only. Your leaders send artillery and guns to foreign shores. And send your sons to slaughter fighting other people's wars. Can you regain the freedoms for which we fought and died? Or don't you have the courage or the faith to stand with pride? And are there no more values for which you'll fight to save? Or do you wish your children to live in fear and be a slave? O sons of the Republic, arise, take a stand, defend the Constitution, the supreme law of the land, preserve our great Republic in each God-given right, and pray to God, keep the torture freedom bright. As Iowoki vanished in the midst of the whence he came, his words were true, we are free, but we have ourselves to blame. For even now his tyrants trampled each god-given right. We only watch him tremble to a fade to stand and fight. If he stood by your bedside in a dream while you were asleep and wondered what remains of the freedoms he fought to keep, what would be your answer if he called out from the grave? Is this still the plan? 45 Republicans in a fast-growing movement who progress. on a Obama-bacte-nited nation's effort that could bring international gun control into the United States. Slap America's gun owners with severe restrictions. Democrats oppose Obama-UN gun treaty. That's the title of this thing. Democrats oppose Obama-UN gun control treaty. Montana Democratic Senator John Kushner's office today provided whispers with their letter signed by 11 other Democrats urging the president to press for significant changes in the treaty. Well, you see in other words, want to still, the skanks still want to try and push it through, so they'll screw all of us anyway. And no matter what they see, a bucket of poison or half a bucket of poison, unless they just flat out say, here's how it works, we're not backing it. These 11 Democrats are nothing more than just giving lip service for the moment. They'll just belly over and roll over and just screw us all anyway. And the problem is that trying to sit over and whatever. Now don't worry, there's some Republicans that are worthless too. Rhino's Republicans only. They're not. Time comes when they'll do a screw us too. There'll be a bunch of flip-flops because they're, you know, Barney Frank, Rhino, poof is. Anyway, urging the president to press significant changes in the treaty. For major concern that domestic manufacture, possession and sales of firearms and ammo will be included, thereby giving an international authority the right to regulate arms sales already protected by the Second Amendment. They also said any move for an international gun registry would be a non-starter. See editorial cartoons about A Republican letter circulated by Kansas Republican Senator Jerry Moran has 45 signatures. Ratification requires two-thirds of the Senate. So far, seven senators have said they would vote against the treaty. Expected to be wrapped up next year. In this letter, Moran wrote, our country's sovereignty and oop, there's that sovereignty word. You want to bet that the propagandists will start attacking that right away? sovereignty and the Second Amendment rights of American citizens must not be infringed. Why? They do it all the time anyway. They're not following the Constitution of the rights. I'm interrupting myself here as well. Upon by the United Nations, Brand wrote in the letter, today, Senate sends a powerful message to the old Plummer Administration, arms trade treaty that does not protect the chip of civilian firms fall in the Senate. Our firearm freedoms are not punishable. Yeah, well that's all BS. The emergence of strong democratic systems comes as the President is trying to go with fallout liberal Democrats upset that he has opened for changes in Social Security care as part of the debt ceiling crisis. Check out political part of the budget and the deficit. Cartoons are cute, but sorry guys. The UN Arms Trade Treaty which the Bush administration had opposed, would regulate with the international trade of arms. It would cover the trading of conventional arms like those used by electors and sportsmen and women. Oh, not us men. Sportsmen and sportsmen, I guess, that's more properly structured. Goal of the treaty is to come up with national rights rules governing the trade of guns and ammo. The United States is the world's largest exporter of arms. The tester's letter includes, as members of the United States Senate, our constitutional responsibility to advise and consent of United States Army strength. Before we could support ratification, we used to have assurances that our concerns are adequately addressed. The lie! Bummer would flat out lie. He's a socialist. He is a parasite, neophyte, neocon, Soviet slash he fits in all the categories with regard to all these socialists socialists basic attitude is lie every So as far as echoes we need a promise. Yeah. Yeah, right. I have a lot of promises you're gonna get all we're gonna be BS But our concerns are adequately addressed treaty will not anyway impede upon the constitutional rights of America donors any You're gonna do it follow through on this, anything short, thick, would be unacceptable. And all they're going to do is parade. Barney Frank, he's going to walk down the hallway, throw a bunch of pictures on the table. They're all going to look at the best cameras, and they're all going to roll over and screw this country. If anybody and everybody goes to sleep on this, you're crazy. Oh, look, they're going to deal with it. Everybody remember these are the senators who bragged about how they'd never read anything. Does everybody understand that these are the centers that we need to fire all of them really? Problem is a big chunk will be the same parasites face. You just take the face off, slam another one out, it's stitched in place or super glued in place. The same is going to be true with this whole thing. If they ratify this treaty in any way, shape, or form, it automatically implements action against the American because the word twisters will be involved. an idiot stupid enough sign if this at all any senator who goes up thinks that this would be a cool idea it's a traitor to the American people but this isn't I told you so and before it was oh no they're not trying that oh no they're not trying that oh no they're not trying that oh no they're not oh yeah they are back to have all along just a point they backed up parts of the agenda they decided to try and push instead and they didn't want this out in everybody's face where everybody could see it too soon because well actually they did but they backed off because you realize the amount of heat so they figure here it is 2011 a bunch of people are stupefied about whether they get the frogs or whether they get the government dope or whether they get their street hand out from the government so that's smart enough to figure out what's going on. That's what the system's helped. Of course that's what Bummer has helped me the fake foreign president. So slash pro slash the Kenyan coming to office as a senator right in Chicago papers. Everybody remember that? So anyway, yes, this is in motion. That's acknowledged right there. Just that article everybody needs to listen to. And again, Joe Tester, so inset, good old Joe Tester, but it's being a slow train car. He is along with the other, you know, 10 That's kind of the 45th public rat. And we'll see what happens. Anyway, there is a project here, things. Also, we have, don't forget, concons. At every state cap right now, trying to push state concons. And the most important thing to understand about this is that So state concons are also going to try to attack the state rights across the board even if you like you walk where they're already not exist. So I guess it's for the city where they exist. Certainly exist in New York. It's New York City that's already Soviet. Now, same is true with regard to the Shysters over there in California. You already know what happened. Remember the gun control bands in California were the precursors. The gun control bands such as the Brady Bill. in Washington. So although California is so far on the sun, care is for the most part, still trying to pull or pull the scam, same plug in, whatever, how California goes, so goes the rest of the country. That's the case, you mean, so as California goes into the toilet and flushes itself into the Pacific, so the rest of the country wants to follow? I don't think so. So that's not good. Uh, you have most of us are gonna wave and hope San Andreas does its job. A couple of the less part of the problem of wave, but, unfortunately there are some nice people in there that probably need to leave the state before that happens. So anyway, for all of you who want to show somebody that day, because of this weapons Wednesday, uh, and again this is a we told you so, well first of all, we're not doing anything like that! This is US News, and that's uh, www.FirstNews.com Washington whispers by Paul Bedard, D-E-D-A-R-D, looking for Democrats oppose Wama U-U-N-3D. That was posted July 26, 2011. And Washington whispers, Paul Bedard, Democrats oppose Wama-U-N-1-4. But as it is, remember, U.S. News are all like Rusty's lying sacks of BS. But all that's just crazy those crazy patriots they just fuck and of course it's Patriot mythology the UN is Patriot mythology. Oh, there's well anyway a couple of things here to See one two four for all of y'all they're listening and again main military dot-com main military dot-com main military dot-com One of the things that I noticed several times and I've walked around the country and I'm watching this some of you guys have the 5.7 pistol the FN 5.7 5.7 Best price on mags for FN mags that I see is mainmilitary.com So for any of you guys out that have those I want to check to see what he's got in inventory But sometimes it will not sometimes Frank has connections to a lot of companies doing this for a long time. He's up there in Maine. They're way over in the far upper right hand corner of the United States in Pargingo. And what's really neat is he's got a lot of other stuff on the inventory that's definitely worthwhile, so it's not like our main military.com then go to magazines. In fact, you'll find that all kinds of that are in the seat. Firearms, bags, and clips. There we go. That's a magazine. I shouldn't have said magazines. Firearms, bags, and clips. And go there, and there's a lot of other things available that are definitely worth a while. And for solutions, correction to head. Oh. Oh. Anyway, got some other items in there. We got some of the Wasser 10 low cap, high cap rifles, 8Ks and 7.62x49. The Wasser 10s, the Romanian 8Ks, overall length quarter, weight 7 pounds, barrel 16. You should have threaded barrels so you can put compensators as you want to on them. The bayonet lug for the bayonet is in place. That's very good. Very nice feature. There are variations. Bossert and Tikecaps are available for $449. Low cap model for $100 less. Now everybody goes, why would I want a low capacity? This one is a straight mag in line. Well, if you can find them, magazines were dirt cheap. I think what happened is we did this to everybody several years ago here, a couple years ago. The low capacity rifles were available. Because why would I want to buy one? Well, Why wear out your battle rifles for training? If I have to train somebody and theorize them with an AK-47, why not buy for $100 less another AK like this? I'd grab down to $300. They were $299. Now they've talked about $349 apiece. They're still $100 cheaper than the average AK. This is cheap. There are some SAGAs. $2,300, $765, $5,300, $308, $60,000, which are available. But... These are manian AKs in this great format so that you match up with all the other rifles you have. Now, if I have to familiarize somebody with an AK, I have these. Why wear out other rifles? Why not have these as training weapons? In fact, for range fire, for the most part, especially for initial range fire, these are perfect because they function exactly the same as any other AK. By the way, they can be opened up to take standard AK mags. I think most everybody knows the system. But, if you pay for $100 less, you get a, you know, that's $100 more magazines. That's how I'm ammunition. More importantly, is I buy mags, mags, mags. Well, let's see if it has them. If they do, it'd be kind of nice. If you have the single stack washer mags, the 8K, then I'm going to have to call to find out. I may have to actually check them. I find I'm doing that. Yesterday, I'll have to call to find out, but if they have them, buy a bucket of the 10 round mags and set them on the shelf with a rifle. Met that rifle just like you would an ask. By the way, they should have the side rail on that weapon, which they could be dragging off. So, that was the two 10 round mags, and I'll find out about the rest of the pictures too. Well, for $350, that's a pretty darn good purchase. Brand new rifle out of the box. 877-608-0179. Which calls for 877-608-0179. That's 877-608-0179, and that's Maine. And it is Weapons Wednesday, by the way. So, also, again, go to firearms, see, go to pistols, and check, see, yep, right there. So the more you buy the cheaper they are. A 2-pack of the FN H75 5.7x28 20 round magazines, 2-pack, $69.98. And so that's actually a bad price for those. The price around the country is $35 apiece as opposed to $50 apiece which is what everybody else is retaking them at. $2 for $70, I'll eliminate that. $69.98. That's $70. So $35 apiece and the more you buy, remember, the shipping is cheaper, the more you buy. The military they've got all special deals and arrangements with your ship. Need to check to see what's on for the moment and act accordingly. Another thing is remember to have LTR specials. Go to the LTR specials. You never know which stuff that Frank's adding on a regular basis. You've got US pistol belts, metal gear, 35.5 for $5 US pistol belts with a plastic connector, all US military stuff, $25, 5 for $25. In addition to that, they've got Y suspenders that are available. Basically everything you need to help somebody top to bottom on the page. But for those of you who got the German gear, there's still some of the German Web system available. They've got the G3 mag with pouch five pack ten magazines $25 pistol belt eight suspenders HP mags and mag pouches Go around shop around find what you need and put it together off of the LTR page and others that are that's on Main military now one of the things if you guys are in the desert or if you're big brown out efficient camouflage rigs for the season coming up U.S. Folly Desert double mag pouch 5 pack for $50. That's $3 apiece for a double mag pouch for your molly rig. And this is in three colored deserts. So if you're doing a brown rig, you're putting it together for the brownout season, which by the way, the browns also work just fine. Take a look at the conditions with the thatch and brown and you know the background. There's also a praise out. But Again, look at the tree line. You see some snow, so with the snow camouflage, the browns and the tans combined with the snow isn't a bad idea. It's a bad way to go. About there. Of course, there are the woodland mag pouches, 5 air-15, poly double mag pouches for $25, so that's $5. Let's see, wait a minute. Five-pack, the double mag pre-color. part. You're looking just to get here in the field. Speaking of a 510 program, there's a solution. As I pointed out many times, even though it's not a weapon-to-weapon, it does any great stuff. It makes a great set of poor man's knuckle dusters and a pinch. Watch that pinch being the key word, but it's carabiners. Five pack USGI carabiners for $50. Everybody should carry at least one, preferably two of these, on your combat harness. One high, one low. carry at least one high per rig that's set up. These are US GI and they're steel. They're not aluminum. They're steel. These things are built like a brick doghouse. They're the original idea to work just fine. Again, US GI carabiners five pack dollars. That's three dollars apiece for US American made steel. Not China punk steel not junk from overseas not Belgian steel us made Eric steel from Vietnam era the last of the High-point still that we made you know the high watermark Eric steel and they're dated by the way to all of the care beaters like a lot of the other equipment is dated So you know exactly what year that was again? Do a quick dry lube on them do a blue bottom in general. It's like gonna be said haven't sit around they're gonna be here They're metal just like anything else you want to make sure you are? Octizing but a layer of here of one form or another whatever uber skibs works really good by the way And seal these things up ready to go hook up on repel on belay repelling And I have repelling, oh my goodness, oh he's ugly, oh, video me. Anyway, mainmilitary.com, and they do have the FN mags in stock, but the Wasser 10-shot mags, the reason I bring that up is there is another good, their AK out. And for all of you that are interested in buys, it's just a Belgian AK for a good price, go to www.centerfire.com. systems for all you project solution. Oh, hey somebody's bringing an MP5 knockoff in for only dollars. And by they've got Mac Mac 10s and Mac Mac 9s and Mac 10s and it's like 9 millimeter and 45 ACP. Oh 360 and $400 apiece. Get the AK. Okay, you're gonna spend 350 get an AK. Those are cute but get an AK. One of the other things here real quick is, and I'll see if they have it while we're on break, but there's a Belgian, or forgive me, a Bulgarian AK that uses the stacked mags. They don't have any mags for it though. If we can track down the mags, which we should be able to, you're looking at the Belgian barrel, or forgive me, oh, I keep doing that, Bulgarian barrel to Bulgarian light rifle AK. That's the best barrel that was ever built for the AKs. They had a complete secret factory, wouldn't let anybody in, the process is still restricted, and there's some of the best barrels on the planet for the AK-47. Well, if you can get a Bulgarian with that barrel, you got yourself a highline rifle. Anyway, I hear the music. What we're gonna do is we're gonna go to break. You grab that next cup of coffee, it is time to go to work for a lot of you. Five, 30 way out there in the left coast. We'll be back, the micro effect in the morning right here, and it's Weapons Wednesday. I think you saved my life! Evidence, Jansen. Even racoons respect the authority of a man with good nutrition. That's me. Now what's going on here? Well he started it, sir. I was trying to clean this fish and he tried to take it from me. Yeah, well you must have looked a little wimpy. Sir, I'm hungry. Jansen, if you'd have brought your own supply of freeze-dried food from the freeze-dried guy like I told you, you wouldn't have to be out here picking on the cute little animals. It's summertime, boy. It's a classic line from The Talking Heads. Remember that song? It's summertime. It is. And so it's supposed to get hot. Igor came out, flapped his gums, a bunch of other stupid people. They'll disappear like woodchucks. You know, whole weather comes back, they'll disappear. Anyway, I think we got done with this. Uh oh. That was wrong. I just heard a voice in the background there. Well, I have to wait just a little bit longer. But either that or maybe he's trying to hook up. I want to check if everything's working while there. as it is uh... let's see it is weapons wednesday real quick thanks the guys the chairman this one uh... isa obama administration intimidating witnesses in eighty f gun probe on the way the back faggots are being intimidated by their overlord the the uh... democrat the foreigner that's in there the washington times now for a lost by this one it's ww w dot the washington times dot com And that's of course news for size 2011 July 26th. It's ISA ATF Warren's witnesses. What ATF witnesses? ATF Warren's witnesses testimony. In other words, don't tell anybody the truth. You know, try to play, you know, use lots of word play guys. Lots of semantics. Semantics? Oi, you must be anti-semantic. Oi. Felling ya. Well anyway, just a real quick part of this, let's see, the Obama administration sought to intimidate witnesses into not testifying to Congress on Tuesday about whether ATF mainly allowed weapons, including assault rifles, to be walked into Mexico. Chairman of a House Committee investigating the program said in an interview Monday House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell E. Issa, California Republican, said at least two schedule witnesses expected to be asked about a controversial weapons investigation known as farcical and facetious. Oh, I mean, the game show, Fast and Furious, perceived, slash, let's call it what it is, Operation Gun Runner. Change the name for propaganda purposes. Operation Gun Runner. Call it what it is. Operation Gun Runner. and otherwise, Parsicle and Facetius. Okay? Received warning letters from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms and explosives to limit their testimony. Now, there's a reason they're doing this. These are, remember we've told you all about these Batfaggots, FBI, all these other scum? They are corporates. They're not Americans. Do not look at them as Americans. They're not Americans. They're not for the United States. They're global pond scum. They are corporates from outside the US that are raiding parties against America. When FDR declared war against the American people in 1933, that's you and me, and they are going to make us shuttle property. Well, when they did that, they all had a pretty good understanding that these were the shyster pirates from the Caribbean, literally. They were coming in to screw America. This is what they've done here, to fabricate a condition. This is why, oh, the other thing about the other part about this, I just covered the UN treaty BS, which we've talked about for years, and everybody's, oh, that's crazy, they'd never do that. Well, they're right on the edge of it right now. Anyway, what's fascinating about that is, remember, you've got this international border, oh my god, guns from America! We gotta have the UN Gun Band! See how that works? See how all the other propaganda would have plugged into place were it not for, you know, people worried about their jobs because they've seen how the system screws itself, you know, they screw each other and backstab each other constantly? That's the only reason this came about. That's the only reason information came out on this. is because backstabbing and backstabbing and backstabbing and more backstabbing is taking place. Mr. Ices committee is set to hear testimony from six current or former ATF employees including agents and attachés assigned to the bureau's office in Mexico. about the operation in which, religion say, they were told to stand down and watch as guns flowed from the US dealers in Arizona. Now, that is by itself, we've got to qualify this. The US dealers had no choice in this. And this, ISA needs to keep emphasizing this too, which by the way, they make it sound like the US dealers, they were just illicitly selling these things to these punks, you know, going south. No, they didn't. The Batbagat director already publicly stated, if you'll recall, back on the 4th of July, in fact, they were bragging how the shops had no choice, they were camera'd, and they were watching live feeds while they're sitting there swapping spits, squeezing Barney Frank's page boys, who were, you know, the poof does wearing no pants or chaps, you know, running around half naked, you know, the prostitution ring out of Barney Frank's operation, which, by the way, happened. They got caught twice in that. But you should remember that. Mark's not joking about that. the page boy prostitution ring being run out of Barney Frank's office. I'll remind everybody that even if nobody else, of course in Washington, they're all nobodies, nobody got rid of Barney Frank, he just keeps running his prostitution ring. So anyway, While they're doing that, they were sucking on coffee cups and eating Nibleys, watching and laughing about what they were watching going on in these gun shops. Gun shop owners knew it. Gun shop owners were coerced by the ATF. They said, we're going to use you and you don't have any choice because you have an FFL and we'll take your FFL. So it was like, well, OK. See, they make it sound like, oh, wow, the dealers were just a little curious. No, the whole thing was run by the back baguettes and they watched it. They were laughing about it on live feed video via satellite out of Washington while it was going on in Arizona. All this information has been publicly available in different tiers in the last year and they're selectively remembering this now. So don't blame the gun dealers because they didn't have any option in the matter. The back packets came in and threatened them under this administration. So, I mean, of course the Alaska administration wasn't any better so throw that out the window too. Oh, look Bush was different. No, they weren't all the same. Flowed from US dealers in Arizona to violent criminals and drug, violent criminals and drug cartels in Mexico. The six-term lawmaker aired his concern about the program in a wide-ranging interview with reporters and editors at the Washington Times on Monday, blah, blah, blah. Now, as we know, one of the comments made here And of course this is Darryl Eisey's Republican out of California. That's one step away from being, you know, red. He's just like, what, pink shade. Okay. At the end of the day, the President's not going to be impeached over either of these two offenses. Really? Only because you're not pushing it, Mr. Eisey. You see, there's the problem. Why not? We, if they are not going to impeach Oh, oh, bummer, over what happened here. They better write a letter of apology and read it over Richard Nixon's grave. Does everybody understand that? And they better do it publicly in the Congress, on the floor, and in the Senate, on the floor, during the middle of a regular business day, not at the end of business. They had better write a letter of apology to Richard Milhous Nixon. Or on that in a minute. Sounds like we might have a caller. Do we have a caller? Morning Mark, this is Dave and Robster. Hey Dave, jump in there sir. I picked up a West and I noticed that the trigger housing is in the torque and that pushes the receiver apart and the pin that holds the trigger housing in has to hold the hole out. Is it a pin or is it a screw? Is there a stock screw? Forgive me, is there a stock screw that comes in from the base? Yeah, I tightened that up within if I can get it. I didn't want to tighten it too much but the receiver is separately against the receiver. Now here's the question, does the screw go through the base of the receiver and make contact with those two parts? Is the screw too long? Is it the trigger group? Right, is it putting pressure there? Even a thread, even part of a thread can do that, just enough coming out of the base of the receiver fixture. I'd have to remove the trigger group and take Now here's the way to do this. Because again, the bolt runs through the stock, right? Does it run through the base of the stock? You're screwing it in from that direction? Yeah, from the base. OK, here's what you do. First thing you do is the cheapest test to find out if this is an issue. Go get your screw. Unscrew the screw. Take the screw back out of the stock. OK? Go to the hardware. Find yourself some stainless steel because you see today we can buy stainless nobody's gonna see these so that's great You can use stainless go grab yourself two or three stainless steel washers that it will fit that that bolt and Start out with first one Washer and then screw it into place and see if that gives you enough of a standoff that it prevents that separation from taking place It's not putting pressure on the system or a lever a levered point of the lower trigger group If one doesn't do it, back it off. Be careful like you've been doing. Remember, always go slow. Put a second one on. As long as the thread is making contact with the mill point, or I should say the tapped point where the threading is, as long as you have sufficient stock material on there making contact with that, it doesn't pass through and then put pressure on whatever. Because it could be, again, skewing something. then the washers will do the job. Because what happens is over a period of time, it's not the receiver that distorted or changed, it's the wood stock itself. Remember, unless there's a spacer, and even if there is a spacer, wood gets old, wood gets tired, it dries up. One of the tricks there is to soak the wood too, just to let it open up a little bit if you've got dings or dents. And you don't have to really soak it. What you can do is take a wet rag, You have dings, dents, or something like that in old military rifles. And lay the wet rag, oh damp, not soaking wet, but a damp rag on the dings, and the majority of them will pull right out with the moisture as the moisture, you know, they rehydrate. In this case, chances are, what you want to do is put those in because as somebody has tightened down that bolt over a period of time, or a different time, maybe even trying to tighten the stock up because he loosened up, she's a little, you know, tired. It doesn't have to be an old, old gun for this to happen. It's just the nature of wood. Depending on how the gun was stored is another half of that. If it was in a very dry, dry place, which is cool because the gun doesn't rust, remember that the wood, most people don't really treat the wood on weapons. They treat the metal. They usually lubricate that. But something to rehydrate wood wouldn't be a bad thing on a regular basis, or at least to re-treat it with whatever type of oils you pick from the inventory in the wood category, wood treatment category. But if you want, you can start with two spacer washers right off the bat. But I would go stainless, because stainless is readily available. You can go to any hardware. They've got a good selection. Just make sure that it'll fit down the bore hole that was created for the channel that was created for that bolt. So, it's pretty simple. That's a pretty simple first step. I would buy four washers. That way you've got more enough material to work with without having to make another trip. And stainless steel washers come in so handy for so many other things that you'll use them one way or another. I put them in my repair kit anyway. I'm lucky. I have enough hardware in the base now. Yeah, we just want to back it up so it's not torquing apart or a component as much. Is the back of the receiver machined and separated or is there a break or something? It's a Mossberg 500 essentially. Oh, okay. Well, yeah. Again, it's the only consideration. It's a wood stock or was it a plastic stock? It's a wood stock. It's a Western A. Remember that whenever you see where they're okay, it's just Remington, Mossberg, and Winchester, when they made production guns for other companies, if you laid them up side by side, the finish is okay on pretty much all the metal. Machining quality, the standards will be average. I mean, in other words, it's a field grade gun to begin with as far as they're concerned. And typically the wood will be birch. Now that doesn't mean it's the only wood they've used because that's why people go, well why isn't that stock just seems a little flat? It doesn't seem to have quite the pretty color or contour to it. Well, because they're using birch typically and birch is the, in military spec, let me give you an example and in the gun industry walnut was obviously curly walnut, walnut was the standard. Walnut stocks were the preferred and in fact is military spec for US battle rifles. The first time that we actually changed that spec was at the end of World War II, where they finally confirmed that as a secondary option for rifle stocks, Burch could be used. Now, it was very seldom used, but Burch was available. Now, by the time we got to Korea, because, again, Walnut inventories, Walnut was not cheap, the dollar was going down in value, Birch stocks were built for or built as replacement stocks and shipped to Korea and were used over there to a degree. They still weren't dominant but because of that there was a secondary option in the specs which is why you'll find birch stocks in the surplus industry. Example to get to the M14A1E2 which is the most people didn't want that stock when it came out I could buy those stocks for five dollars when they came out of surplus not joking with all the metal on them for five dollars an M14 M14A1E2 that's the squad automatic rifleman stock looks really cool but everybody just wanted to keep their standard stocks because they spend a lot of money on their M1As but that was a Birchwood stock by that point in time by the time we got to the middle 50s into Vietnam Birch was the most common Now, birches is a hard wood, but it's not as hard, and typically like on these contract rifles and shotguns at Remington, Osberg, and Winchester, and even Savage. Savage mostly uses birch. They use walnut to a degree, but they'll just as commonly offer the rifle or like the .22s in birch. It does have, you know, it doesn't want to say issues, but in the short term and the long term, it's just something you need to keep an eye out for. Stock splits, you know, like around the upper part of the pistol grip, you know, I should say the C grip, you know, base of the receiver, that looks okay. You'll find wear points. If you use it a lot, a lot of these are field grade guns. The only good thing is that typically a field grade gun gets wet on a regular basis. We don't think about this. We go out and we go bunny hunting and we get some spurtly rain. If the gun gets wet, we wipe it off. But the cool thing is that that's good for the wood because it rehydrates it to a degree. It's part of the cycle of maintenance that we don't really do. We don't really talk about these things. I had to learn by going through and studying gunsmith books and going through all kinds of stuff and just sitting down and reading and it's like you know stock maintenance the reason they don't say a whole lot is just like anything else hey you got to bring your gun to me and fix it so yeah just keep doing what you're doing and I'll fix your gun later but the stock itself you might want to take a look at it one of the options on this is, I mean, I wouldn't change it if you don't have to, but watch around for some Zytel stocks, you know, for something somebody's getting rid of that are not too heavy, but you can get a standard C stock that's, you know, black plastic. I would pick up more anyway. If you're using Mosbergs and you start to collect them, you're going to end up with, it'd be nice to have spare parts. Stocks are one of the first things that I'd be grabbing for the shotguns. So there's an experiment too, which might eventually down the road watch for somebody get rid of some Not as pretty or used as Zytel stocks at the gun show. Well, you know, as far as the pitting goes, remember if all the spales looks like the finish is kind of tough, you can clean the whole thing up, strip it with, you know, strip it to break all the oils, and then use engine paint to give it a final coat finish in crinkle or whatever. Yeah, I got a can of it. I was thinking of it. and that's just a way to seal it so you don't have to worry about it. It'll make it look good. You can even tactically color the thing if you want. You can go shades, you know, shades of grain green. That's another option. It's a good service weapon. Again, you got the right idea. Hand out weapons like that and clean them up. Touch them up top to bottom, go over everything and then put them on the shelf and either they're yours to use where you need them tucked away in different places or give them to somebody there when you got a buddy that'll help out. All set? Thank you, sir. We're at the top of the hour already. A whole hour gone by with the intel report and its weapons Wednesday. Good question there. Thank you. I think I'll touch on a few other things on that subject when we get back, but meanwhile, you guys got to go to work in many cases. Grab that next cup of coffee. God bless Republic, death of the New World Order. We shall prevail, ladies and gentlemen. The Empire is on the run and we're on the march. We'll be back in about seven minutes. Meanwhile, Philoshaftly coming up and more of our sponsors on the micro effect in the morning. This is the Philoshaftly Report. Mrs. Schlafly is a constitutional attorney, popular speaker, and the author of 20 books, including a book, Feminist Fantasies, that reveals the feminist influence on the media, on college campuses, and writing in children's classrooms. Now here's the president of Eagle Forum, Phyllis Schlafly. Today, I'm going to tell you more interesting things that we've learned from the debate about the federal budget. It is really possible to balance the budget by 2020, and the Republican plans prove that it is doable. If we delay taking the necessary steps, we will soon be spending every dollar of federal revenue on interest, which, like unpaid personal credit card debt, will progressively increase in rate as well as amount. We can reform extravagant welfare spending and the more than 70 means-tested wealth distribution handouts by the same formula the Republican Congress adopted in 1996. That welfare reform was signed by Bill Clinton, but unfortunately repealed by Obama. We can stop the unsustainable growth of Medicaid by block granting the funds to the states. The states can then fix eligibility and benefits. The Republicans are far too timid in dealing with the fiscal and unemployment problems created by illegal immigration. That's costing us a mountain of taxpayer spending for means-tested financial handouts, hospital and medical care, and U.S. citizenship given to anchor babies. And one more thing, Obama's tremendous deficit spending confirms the researchers who discovered that he is following the Francis Fox Piven Strategy, which he learned from her own
