Mark Koernke discussed operational security, tactical preparedness, and border deployment logistics on August 6, 2010. He covered mapping resources and techniques for tactical operations, emphasized the importance of military-grade topographic maps, and provided detailed guidance on preparing vehicles and equipment for field deployment. The show included extensive discussion of firearms (PTR-32 rifles and AK magazines), food rations and supply coordination for deployed personnel, and vehicle modification strategies including camouflage, license plate covers, and tire sterilization. Koernke also addressed the UN Small Arms Treaty threat, state government failures, and the need for alternative communication networks through Liberty Net and Possum Net shortwave frequencies.
Live 365. Can you regain the freedoms for which we fought and died? Or don't you have the courage or the faith to stand with pride? And are there no more values for which you'll fight to save? Or do you wish your children to live in fear and be a slave? Oh, sons of the Republic, arise. Take a stand. Defend the Constitution, the Supreme Law of the land. Preserve our great Republic and each God given right. And pray to God. To keep the torch of freedom burning bright As I awoke he'd vanished in the mist for whence he came His words were true, we are not free But we have ourselves to blame For even now his tyrants trampled each god given right We only watch him tremble, too afraid to stand and fight If he stood by your bedside in a dream while you were asleep And wondered what remains of the freedoms he'd fought to keep What would be your answer? If he called out from the grave, is this still the land of the free and home of the free? liberty tree radio dot for m not g dot com p b n dot for m g dot com and we are on live three sixty five then go to liberty tree radio were also on a m f m micro stations cb base stations and ultra net technologies both east and west of the mississippi along with southern and central alaska We are on the Hallmark network on the Eastern Seaboard from the top of Maine to the bottom of Florida. It's really interesting when I look at the map on that one. And then all the way to the third of Wyoming. Yep, the third. It wants to hide away that unit and the guys that are doing their part there. The third's doing a fantastic job and they're working on some microtransmitters. I think they'll be linked in with the micro effect and should be with us here in LTR by the time we're done. You can talk to the other people that have the new toy because they have one too but you don't talk to anybody else. Remember, Rogers, rogers rangers rules look them up for our friends in the chat room there guys we could print that out from a link out against everybody can read them uh... still the simplest and best of uh... explanations for tactical operations and what you do and how to stay alive rogers rangers rules the basics anyway uh... you party on the beach this saturday party on the beach this saturday party on the beach is that you might notice that tomorrow and then a meeting at the restaurant on Sunday a meeting at the restaurant on Sunday a meeting at the restaurant on Sunday Make sure that you call your meals also remember security the parking lots You're gonna be helping with that for a few minutes Everybody does it and that way nobody misses out only for a few minutes, but it's constant then Of course, we have to make sure we benchmark the day. Oh, I know for all you that are just now coming in Yeah, it's the 6th of August. I don't know that's right. It's true. It doesn't mean anything at all 6 August. careful people are thinking about barbecues especially summer you know i mean it's august it summer it's nice weather people are thinking about barbecues beer bunny rabbits anything but the steering wheel and what's beyond the hood of the car so your job is to survive to get past all those people think about the beer the bunny rabbits the barbecues the bikinis all those bees that are dangerous bunnies yeah bunnies you know they're thinking rabbits you know i have bunnies yeah only blue and blue play with them no well they could be i mean bikinis Bunnies and Bikinis. Ah, see those bees connect. And they're at a barbecue. And the bunny with the bikini at the barbecue has got beer. This is the worst world possible for a person driving to scrape that out of their mind, please. Otherwise, it's very dangerous to be on the road. Well, it is. And that's why you're going to play Scatterdodge to get home. So be careful. Leave and work. Make sure that you're thinking about driving. I don't care what the others are worrying about. In fact, chances are they're wrapping themselves around trees, cars, and other things. it is a beautiful friday we have gone back and forth dom's not getting any weather like this at all we've had this storm front of this kind of circle around us we've got to be a little micro hurricane here and so far no rain i mean we've had rain to the south rain to the north it swept kind of bounced over some kept on going it threatened us but it hasn't hit us so uh... our weather's been really cool here at that classic michigan weather we all all know and love But we're getting a special serving of it right now. And the farmers, of course, are panicking. The guys to the north, they're busy throwing as much hay out of the trucks as they can, thinking, man, that range is probably going to be here in a minute, and it goes away. And it's going to be here in a minute. So they actually, I think, double-timed it and did phenomenal work. Got four hay trucks, hay wagons loaded already, and I think they're on number five. I just saw them pull in before we started the first hour, so they're probably way past number five now. But anyway, we're trying real hard to get stuff done and we've been accomplishing quite a bit. New signal communications projects in motion and this is part of the The Everson grid that's coming up, it's a new system and it's going to be part of the 2 meter and it's going to be locked in with the alternator. I think by the time we're done, I'll find out more and know more about this Saturday night. If everything goes well. Our signal communications people, of course, have the usual programs coming up. Let's not forget that right over there. Actually, I can't say that, but just to our west and many other locations all around us across the state of Michigan and all over the US, the LibertyNet is plugged in at 10 p.m. on Saturday night. If you have shortwave technology, LibertyNet, 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. at least. Now, they try to stay up longer, but it's purely a matter of propagation. and that's on 3950 plus or minus. Take the time, pull your rig out, run some wire, hook up everything, make sure you don't run that radio without being able to throw that load somewhere, and 3950 plus or minus at 10 p.m. Saturday nights through to at least 2 a.m. in the morning and probably longer, just purely matter how the, you know, what the, what the, conditions are. The second grid that comes up to overlap with that is the possum net. Now the possum net, and that's like old possum, but in this case possum net, is 2 a.m. to 1 ever, up to at least 5 a.m. or as propagation allows. So the possum net is on 3.8, we hit it about 3.843 when the dial here goes, and pretty solid and consistent the last several times. 3.840 is the benchmark base frequency. 3840 plus or minus and that's Sunday morning actually because that's from 2am to 5am on. But Liberty Net 10pm to 2am plus 3950 if we're not there just go up the dial to 3960 and then possum net 2 to 5am Sunday 3840 plus or minus again up and down the dial you got to use that variable rheostat and it'll get you locked in. Okay. Now also this is Quartermaster Friday so don't forget we are going to have uh... but i have a point of uh... from the for the evening program also all that's right thank you for reminding me to rule that's right uh... real quick and this has to do with alternate uh... test that's going on the uh... that'll be on sunday night and this is going to be also linked in to the restaurant crew as far as something to be demonstrating at the restaurant this weekend so from five o'clock on very quickly coordinate for lateral six point two sandy adrakonos coordinate 6 lateral 7.4 keVES 2-5-4-8 Alice and Janine. You guys are up and online. Coordinate 2, lateral 5.1, Isilien 9, 2-1-8. You know who you are and you're up and online for this exercise which will begin at 5 p.m. Eastern Time across the country. Set clocks accordingly. Coordinate 7, lateral 3.2, Venzi. And that's 0.6217. coordinate 6, lateral 3.1, Phoenix 2, that's 9, 9, 1 and coordinate 1, lateral 6.8, Tempest 3, number 8, 6, 1 and that's Johnson. So remember everybody you've got a job to do this weekend you will be up from 5, oh correction and correction and correction. First coordinate T, second coordinate W, third coordinate T, fourth coordinate F, fifth coordinate G, 6 coordinate, forgive me on that, E, echo, E as in echo, make sure we get that, otherwise you guys will be off cycle. So anyway, we have a whole bunch of other stuff going on, and a quick reminder too, oh yeah, like we've got a lot of quick reminders, okay. Maps, maps and maps, guys, what we're doing right now is also trying to, when you're fox hunting, or when you're doing any of these, we're performing these signal exercises, we like to also make sure that we can kind of, you know, fix you on the map. Well, this is good map practice, and we do not use GPS for anything. Why? When the time comes, GPS is either A, going to be shut down, shunted, or offset. Now, which would be worse? Let's see. Launching something and then going, poo, and thinking you got the right GPS coordinate. But unfortunately, the signal is shunted. Well, shall we say diverted to another grid, and you following the instructions or the machine does end. Why did that land over there in the middle of that open field? I don't know Frank. Try another shot. Well, the auto dial just doesn't seem to work the way it's supposed to. Duh! Which is why you need to know how to use maps. Now let me give you an example. Years ago I qualified. In fact, I went in as an Intel Analyst. I was specifically recruited because of interest as an Intel Analyst. Just because you passed all the other tests, there's one test you had to pass or you weren't going into the program. You could go to being a tracked vehicle operator or a tracked vehicle maintenance man if you wanted to. If you did not pass the mapping course, which was one week by itself, then you didn't go any farther than the program. Now granted, you could pass that sooner. You would pass that sooner than a week, typically. But they gave you up to one week to pass. Meanwhile, the class cycle would already be starting. The instructional course was to demonstrate you had a grasp and understanding of how to use military-slash-topographic mapping so that you could properly ID and communicate, guys. So, mapping is the benchmark here. First, if you don't have the basics, GPS won't do you jack squat when the time comes. Okay? Maps, maps, and more maps. Now that I've qualified that, seamless.usgs.gov. http://seamless.usgs.gov. That's seamless. S-E-A-M-L-E-S-S.usgs.gov. Second, http colon forward slash forward slash topomaps.usgs.gov topomaps, T-O-P-O-M-A-P-S dot u-s-g-s dot gov topomaps.gov. You don't know where you are, you're in trouble. And of course sometimes it's good if they don't know where you are either, but there's a lot of confusion amongst the ranks when you just keep going around in circles. Okay, let's avoid that. Let's try not to let that happen. Anyway, topomaps.usgs.gov. $150,000 is a standard mil-spec map, but there are many other maps available, including right down there in the area of interest along the border, if nothing else, so that you can keep track of what's happening. uh... any mapping is good mapping first of all though you're not going to hear me lament if somebody goes well all i had was automotive mapping that's all i've got to work with right now and i couldn't afford anything else mark as i was able to get these as you know pick these up in the arts sales nice great some dollars together and i went over to the I went over to Staples and I bought what I could. Good. That's a start. Any mapping you can get for free, you should pick up. Example, park maps, local municipal mapping. Why? Because, gee, cross-referencing would be good. Some maps might have some information that other maps simply will not contain. In fact, some valuable tactical information may be available with certain mapping to include resource availability. which is kind of nice to have in a more detailed grid map of some kind or an area map of a village, a town, or whatever. See how that works? So you have somebody who should be working as a cartographer, or in fact their mission should be to maintain mapping to a degree, but everybody has a responsibility to assist in this and to maintain their own mapping resources that they carry on their person. For your local area of activity, you need to have some mapping online. You need to have that in place. for operations or where you want to observe or if you're going to overview your state, that should be in place. If you're looking at tactical deployments like what we're seeing, say, south over on the border there, then there are large or smaller scale maps accordingly that will afford better detail or a greater overview of the entire area. And there is a beautiful overview map that was made for the Donut of Destruction and also for general use for geological survey. uh... that is available it shows the entire southern district of arizona the lower end of arizona and overlaps into mexico at the very base uh... this is a an excellent map to have for tactical operations and especially if you're going to be briefing people who are going to be deployed down on the border during the activity while window that's already planned this way you can familiarize yourself with the terrain in advance Now, one of the advantages, remember, if you have a map that is, let's say, a larger format map that covers a greater area, typically still, with the exception of changes in what gradient, you know, what the individual lines will identify in terms of altitude variance, you could take those maps, even though they may be a, you know, different scale, and you can take them to a color copier and it can blow them up. So let's say that you see that you're observing the area of activity that you're planning and participating in, or let's say that you're helping with another ranch that may be near the area, which is private property, and they just want somebody there to help secure the site. Well, that will help to take it to the copier, blow the area up, take a look at it. You want to go one step farther, and really, this is something that some of our people have done, and we used to do this years ago with military operations, is somebody would be assigned to take the map and produce a three-dimensional copy using cardstock. You can also use cardboard. If you blow the map up, remember your lines will be the set distance, just figure the piece of cardboard is going to represent whatever the height variation is, and you can actually cut out step by step, you cut out and you make a three-dimensional image of the area of activity. It's not that hard to do. In fact, it's really straightforward. And cardboard is cheap. You don't have to go anything fancy. Now, if you want to help people to relate to altitude variations, you can color, in other words, alternately color, using two shades, each of the steps in elevation. This way they get like a color reference so they can actually follow the coloring along from one tier to the next and it allows them to better understand the terrain. Visually see a three-dimensional mini-images if you're seeing it from a distance. I'll bet into colors. You can be more, if you want to be more realistic, you can take advantage of photo intelligence, it may be done, and actually just machine, paper machine the cardboard variant and then paint it over in whatever colors match the terrain so people can better visualize to include ground cover with green as opposed to cliffs with gray, tan, brown, whatever you want to use. that'll match up with the color variations that exist in the natural environment mapping of uh... scale model for this type were done by the military forever even a military bases of portcuster any base there was a modeling division that actually did the training areas and typically also did the entire base these are neat little models typically they've survived and can be found stored somewhere at one of the training buildings on the base. If you ever get a chance to take a look at them, there's some phenomenal modeling work that was done and to scale. So you have the ability to perform in this way. Remember that if you can produce this, especially if you can do it lightweight so it can be transported, this is a valuable training tool for both your pre-deployment up north, out west, back east, and then also for operations once you get into the field. You understand you'll be able to bring that forward. You can present that to the coordinator or you can use it for your own purposes. Think about how you can actually map out or discuss in advance how you're going to deal with working in a particular area if it's your area of assigned control. See how that works? So mapping. And again, one more time on both these seamless.usgsa.gov and topomaps.usgsa.gov. Buy the maps. At least buy a single master copy. You can buy one master copy, take it to a color photocopier nowadays, guys, and make an awfully cheap second copy. Laminate. Once you got the first one made, keep the one as a master flat sheet, and then laminate all of your copies so you don't have to worry about them breaking down because they are photocopies. Then you've got a really decent base map to use for operations, something you can lay on the hood of the truck, something you can actually put on a card table or a piece of plywood and brief your people. Use for referencing. When you're sitting, in fact, ideally what you want to do is a couple of these so that you can use them for referencing at the LPOP and lay them out in front of you. You can blow the scale up. and actually bring the scale up to, just for referencing, put it on a plywood board and arc from the position where you're observing and lay it out as if you were looking at that area. Think about it. And that way you can actually reference. Your mapping will actually have your physical reference points, which can be greased, sticked onto the map as needed and erased as needed, and then changed depending upon the day, because reference points may be used for a number of different reasons. And for operational security, you would change them. There's all kinds of neat things that can be done with mapping that helps to visualize, especially when you're going from looking at something to signal communications transfer of information. Again, the basics first without computers, without all the electronics, because electronics can be jammed, electronics can be shunted, material can be disinformed. In other words, misdirected. That's why we want to know how to do it with our best battlefield computer on the planet, that gray matter between your ears. How well you develop that determines how well you will survive the battlefield right off the bat. So anyway, ideas. We had a couple of people that asked about that in spikes in emails about the PTRs again and a beautiful write-up I should probably post it on our webpage. I'll talk to Ed about this having to do with the PTRs and general performance. So, the guys have already run them through the mill, beat the living snot out of them, and they're not going to get rid of them. They're going to keep them, they like them. A lot of the guys that are doing this like the HKs to begin with, but boy, this is the best of both worlds, cheap ammunition, cheap magazines, and a decent rifle. That's the way you want to plug it in. Now, speaking of cheap magazines, before I forget, well, first of all, forgive me, MaineMilitary.com, MaineMilitary.com, MaineMilitary.com, MaineMilitary.com. So if you go to our webpage, it's Liberty Tree Radio, got a nice orange top there, you got a man with a child and a woman with a child in between the two. There's a tree there, oh Liberty Tree, there you go. Anyway, you scroll down and you will find on the left side of the page, right below LTR Live 365 chip-in, which is right there in Burgundy, and the LTR July chip-in, which is, we're halfway with that, thank you, I appreciate that you assist there, of course it's for July, guys. But we do need assistance with both of those, just as a reminder. And you go to the left side, just below that, and there's Maine, military supply. Shows the state of Maine. There's something to eat called a deer. There's something to eat called a moose. And there's something to eat called a bear. And then there's a rifleman right in between. And he's in the kneeling position. And he's taken aim. I think it's one of those three edible things, if not one of those two-legged moose. They're not edible, but there's lots of good stuff on them. Anyway, you click that, Main Military, and then you will find, there's the page, the number is 877-606-080179. You can give them a call even tomorrow, guys. They're open tomorrow on Saturdays. 877-606-080179. That's 877-606-080179. Give them a call. You can find out more about the PTR32s. The model that they have, the way to find it on the page is scroll down the left-hand side, you will find firearms, rifles, and it's going to give you all rifles or you can actually scroll down to the PTR 91 Incorporated. When you get to PTR 91 Incorporated, all those rifles you know and love. Well, PTR 32KF, it is the last item listed. And right now, $1,100 apiece. Yes, I know. They're $1,100 apiece, but they're ARs that cost that at least. And there are many other rifles you can spend that amount of money on easily. Now, I would not mention this rifle. We're not for the fact that there are a lot of people that use the HK systems, and they'd like to find something like this. Well, you don't have to have it made. It's already built. Okay? So, that's MaineMilitary.com, Maine, M-A-I-N-E Military.com, 877-608-0179. Please take the time to let them know high. You know, by the way, we're alive and well, and you heard about it on the Intel report. Now, the next thing is to go along with that PTR-32. Well, it got Bulgarian mags, and the evaluations we were told, the Bulgarian mags, worked flawlessly with this weapon system. But right now, the AIMSurplus.com has AK magazines, Bulgarian Bullet Mags. They're $5.95 a piece if you buy 10 or less. If you buy 10 or more, they're $4.95. Now, I don't know the price to why it's so cheap, but at the very least, this is a great way to buy a chunk of mags for that PTR or for the AK you've got where you may not have as much money to spend. Your wallet's crunched. You're working two or three jobs, still not getting 40 hours a week. I understand how that works. We've got to try to figure out how to get you at least up to a certain level of preparedness. There you go. Now buy one of the AKs from Classic Arms or from wherever. Classic has the best price on the AKs that I've seen. For the standard 7.62x39, Bulgarian mags from AIM Surplus, ammunition from a number of different sources to include Classic Arms.US, Classic Arms.US, classic arms dot u.s. or amalemand dot com amalemand dot com amalemand dot com and yes main military dot com has an auto so you are shop around look to see who's got in stock and main military dot com main military dot com go to the guys check them out pick out what will work in serve you best and apply the uh... f r n's federal reserve notes accordingly uh... so anyway they'll give you solutions not just what mapping you know i would say that's not just limiting about the problems that now six thirty two it's been a busy busy days going to be busier here still on the program it'll have to cover still uh... shifting uh... we're covered the rifles i wanted to mention that again cause of the question so i think people will be catching the sun off uh... this morning we were discussing a number of different actions or you know ideas activities the border is just one of several attacks taking place simultaneously uh... attack upon the weapons is in motion it's just that it's on such a massive scale now guys that the bag and the bag is no that they don't want anybody be ready for this although when it gets it's going to be uh... it's going to hit hard it's going to be well things we're going to have to choose to either you know urinator get off the pot well and forgive me defecate or get off the pot no meaning So don't say that somebody didn't tell you. This in motion, Larry Pratt's already talked about it. The Senate has been probed at least two or three times to try and get them to push the Small Arms UN Treaty through in the last two months. In each case, most of the characters are already panic because they can see the writing on the wall there worry about losing their jobs this is a good thing with keep that up to yes we plan on firing all of them when the election comes up that still a ways away they know that they're going to try or at least obama's gonna try to create some kind of crisis before then it's not an effort just to win And so, again, if you'd like to find out more, go to GOA, Gun Owners of America, and take a look at what Larry's posted up there. He's got the legislation in place, which is a treaty. We know it's in violation of the body of the law of the United States, and it's repugnant to the Constitution, therefore it is illegitimate. And for that reason, it'll start a war. It's just that simple. Mark's not going to be around the bush. It'll start a war. Anything like that will start a war. They're stupid enough to try and go anywhere near anybody, go door to door, bigs going to start a war. They try and press the envelope on this, that'll start a war. They start to fiddle part with the people, you know, with Arizona, I can see where this is headed. That's probably going to start a war. Not enough just a win a lot of people who thought they had a deal now No, they don't what you aren't hearing from behind the scenes because the control press has told everybody not to talk about it Is that many of the states now see what's truly happening? They're in a quandary. It's like, whoa, whoa, what do we do? Whoa, what do we do? Now, some of them are staying calmer than that, but a lot of them are running around like, you know, basically the people on the Titanic, they finally figured out the Titanic really was going down, and all those people that all got to the boat, beat them there. Well, a lot of other ones were thinking, surely there will be enough lifeboats. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Uh-huh. Yeah, okay. Goodbye. Well those panicked expressions and those jerky motions, that's what you're seeing in a lot of these state governments because there are no deals. And there's a whole bunch of shysters like our governor that we have here, this piece of tripe. That female, the Canadian Californicator, uh... new full well what was going on what issues betraying the state every step of the way we're talking a filthy piece of trade we're talking about a few pieces come there are enough to complete it would properly fit that piece of garbage that fortunately can't really run again but will make you all made a difference the time that that that piece of trite the pad that trawl prepared has gone it's damage here in the state of michigan So there's just one example of many that we have to, you know, again, we can demonstrate and show to people. Naphting, yeah, look what it did for us. Look what it did for you. I feel water. My ankles are wet. The chandelier's at 15 degrees. Oh look, the bartender's giving out free drinks. And they've got a light show outside. Every three minutes they launch another one of those pretty, pretty fireworks that floats for all of a while and then goes out. And the band is playing near my god to thee. Oh, it's like angels. Like I can see angels. Or me very soon. I think you'll be dumping all those bottles out and bundling them up. Everything floats. Anything and everything that floats? Don't you think? I've been doing. You've got 45 minutes. What the hell? How much wood can I collect in 45 minutes? How much can we tie together and keep throwing over the side? I can have a big pile of wood that ain't going to go down with a boat and chances are it would hold up a lot of people. Why should you be dancing around in circles? Hey, how many doors were there on the Titanic? How many doors made out of wood were on the Titanic? How many tables were on the Titanic? How many deck chairs were on the Titanic? Do you think they were made out of steel? Hell no, they were made out of wood. Wow, you start adding all that stuff up, that's a whole lot of floatable. Not only that, but a lot of flat, big floatable. Now let's see, every glass bottle, you ever see what they used to hold up nets with? Before you had all these plastics, guys, Before you had the solid foam plastics, like you see now, they're unbreakable. You had circular plastic containers. Before that you had airtight glass jugs that were used to hold up the net. Hey, you mean to say that they actually could see examples of that, but everybody went in a brain fart? Yeah, well they kind of did. Well, the same is true today, guys. We're not going to get out of the ship and we're not going to let the ship sink. First of all, maybe it would be a good idea to, again, take care of your own needs first. Quartermaster, we've talked about this. If all you do, if all you can do, is take care of your own needs, do that. If you can take care of feeding yourself better, then that means you're not a burden to anybody else. And again, you do it in increments. Well, I can only get about a month's supply on the shelf. Good, do it. next week if you can do a little more do more if you get two months three months six months eight months that that's that much longer you're going to be thinking with your mind and not with your stomach and that's really our concern the other thing is guys especially if you look at this trip deployment are you going to be down there for a while take extra food with you but i'm gonna ask you to do something uh... we have a recall we only got field rations we've got a b and c rations okay we're looking at The A-rations are your number 10 cans of food, conventional food off the shelf, anything you've got that can be done in bulk from the grocer. It can be canned goods, but it can also be a 25-pound bag of oatmeal. It can be a 20-pound bag of rice or a 25-pound bag of Asian rice. Go to the Asian food store and try to find the best price you can. Well, I'll tell you what, those are the rations you need for this type of deployment. You carry a certain amount of combat rations that are specialized, preferably greatest calories for the least amount of weight carried. Ideally, so they just plug and eat. In other words, rip and eat. That's how they should be. But those are emergency rations or deployment rations, especially if things escalate into a combat situation where you're actually under fire. Why? Well, you may be stuck in a location for a period of time, so why are you going to waste those rations when they may be needed and they're used as an insurance policy? Those are carried in your combat load and those are carried in your house load. But the majority of what you're going to be doing is going to be a garrison position, a garrison location, an LPOP. You carry A rations in for that. Now, again, I'm going to ask you, please, whatever you take down there, leave what you don't use. In fact, plan on taking more than you need. There are two reasons for this. Number one, you'd be surprised at what you might need. Okay, number two is with the proper coordination and with everybody pitching in, we could feed an army. Think about it. That way we'll have resources and reserves every time if we go down. Kind of like what we did at many meetings here. We've had tactical meetings out in the field or we've had special conference meetings. example is the meeting that you see that's in the actually the classroom experience of the nbc tape which with the shankar over and with the crew there when you watch that video understand that that particular video that event the price to get in well for you know one of the prices part of the cost to get in was to bring number one or forgive me number ten can uh... bucket the food Anything. If you go to the dollar store and you get a can of beans for a dollar, a one gallon can from say big lots, we have big lots up here, or two dollars, or a dollar fifty cents, because you could find it at that time like that. That's fine. We didn't care what it was. Beans, beets, possum butt, you know, possum butt, pickled, we didn't care. The whole idea though is that a rule was set beforehand. The idea is to test everybody to see are you paying attention. The cost to get through the door, the cost of admission, so to speak, was to bring two number 10 cans of food. You want to bring something else for the lunch and for whatever, that's fine. But two number 10 cans. And what did we do with them? They walked them over and they put them over in the storage, over in the food kitchen preparation area, which was kind of just unofficial. But what we did is we put up a reserve food supply on that site. by each person doing some by the way somebody came into the life for got it all the way there's a grocery store you go to the intersection right there which is only a hundred yards for a hundred hundred yards fifty yards from the entrance turn right down the road about one mile and there is a grocery store on the left hand side they have an aisle which is i'll fix if you go there you will find that there are a whole bunch of of number ten can do whatever you want to buy cheapest if you want whatever you're going to do but you go down there and pick up a couple right now And sometimes people would laugh and it's like, no, no, no, no, no. This was part of something you were supposed to remember. This is like, you know, you have your rifle, you have your water, did you bring your boots? Did you bring what was laid down as part of standard operating procedure for this event? If you didn't, then guess what? It's on the list of things to do. Go get the cans, then come on back down. You might want to grab something else at a grocery store that's up to you for your munching while you're at the, oh, I got to get down there, I might as well pick this up. That's fine, I don't care about that. But those two cans go over there on that pallet and that way between what? You'll notice there's a couple hundred people in the video. You figure it out. Now, many hands make for light work. If we had a deployment, which by the way in that area we had one of the standoffs, had we a need to supply the troops, guess what? We had so many cases of food of mixed types available and at our disposal. the same is true with this deployment with everything headed down south if you can whatever you take down there i would even go so far as to do this you know i've mentioned this on the earth is quartermaster friday uh... if you could mimic all of your gear completely not course in your same are trying to that i might keep a close somewhere else that's fine But if you can mimic your gear, if you have the wherewithal to do this, or maybe you have a cool surplus shop nearby, or you can get a whole bunch of stuff cheap, maybe they have a special deal because they have a bunch of Alice gear, cheap, maybe they have a whole bunch of Type 56 gear, maybe your area is depressed and they have some stuff that they just want to move. Well guess what, if you can buy a set and you can hang on to what you think is best for you. But if you can leave that gear behind, when you leave, you're going to drop the gear right there and say, hey guys, give this to somebody you need. Try to find somebody my size and that way you don't have to change out the equipment. If you can leave the rations, if you can leave anything else down there, that is part of our long-term haul, supply base. Anything you can drop off and leave down there, perishables of any kind, batteries. everything and anything that can be just literally not abandoned, it can be left. Think about this, here's another consideration. Make an exact mimic of everything that you need and leave it on site for you. After the first deployment, if you're able to rotate back down there again, guess what? All of your equipment is sitting there ready to rock and roll. All you've got to do, you can even pull the mags. All you do is leave the gear. Think about this, just leave the gear. Oh, Mark, we've got so many mags, you don't have to tell me that. Pull the mags. box them up, take your weapon, make sure it's in a case, throw it in the vehicle, jet back, you know, don't jet, because I wouldn't take a plane anywhere. But you know, drop them, you know, jump in the vehicle, the rest of the buddies, everybody head home. Think about it. Now that's up to you, because somebody will say, well I might need a combat gear to get back. Guys, if that's what you think you got to do, then don't listen to what Mark's saying. Don't worry about it. These are suggestions, ideas. Some of you have the wherewithal to do this resource-wise. Others do not and I understand that. Okay, again we're presenting ideas. You be creative on this. You make decisions on this. Ideally your best bet is still to take and put it together some extra gear, take it down. With everybody's going down, take the junk with you that you know you can donate to save the shipping. That'll, your vehicle will be that much lighter on the way home. You want to really be generous, here's an idea and I'll plant this seed again because we got some time here still. But okay guys, we still got days, weeks, or a month before you're down there. You have a unit of about say 20, 40, 50, or 100 people that are working together. That represents 20, 40, or 50 families in many cases. Everybody get together at one meetup real quick. put the dollars together go to either craigslist or find the local used uh... you know the used a newspaper ads and find a pickup truck or a band something you could buy for cheap poland ever somebody go out look at it long as it starts stops and it runs okay in general take it someplace strip it down clean it out completely scrub it up scrape it off Check to make sure everything mechanically has changed out all the lubricant are done. Everything is where it should be Find a couple spare rims put a radio rig in it CB etc. Go to the effect on everything expensive I'll tell you the best radio I've had that used them in my large vans with a little duck radio from the truck stops the same one right now Actually, you didn't work well too, but the Midlands which right now are $29.95 With a standard magnet mount antenna on the middle of the roof to the back and that radio boomed for tactical operations. There's a radio. You can put it in there. You got a CB in the van or in the truck. Congratulations, you're done. When you load up all your gear, you take it south with the rest of your convoy. When you get out in the field, you've got a tactical truck to use for the exercise for the operation in place where you're going to be deployed. When the time comes, you take the title, sign it over to whoever you think needs it down there that's going to be part of the units down there that you like, and throw them the keys and say, Asta, Luana, Bago, congratulations, you got another tactical vehicle. Now, that doesn't take much. Many hands make for light work. Everybody might have to spend $20 between the group. Think about it. You got 100 people? You figure out, and we want to, hell, I wouldn't even spend that much. Be quite honest, you should be able to find a vehicle for under $1,000. So nothing should be, you shouldn't have to buy anything, an old single person should have to shell out a whole big pile of money. And guys, there's vehicles all over the place. Remember, well Mark, it doesn't have a pretty body. Break out the hammer and bend it back into shape. Body doesn't count, pretty doesn't count for Jack's squat. If it needs some body work, beat it out, square it away so it looks kind of like it's a shape it should be. Take the factory bumpers off. Here's the only thing you might do as a favor. Take the factory bumpers off, put a big ol' push box bumper, made out of big ol' piece of box steel up front and one out the back. Make sure it's got a re-stitch for, you know, transport use for using the trailers. And there you go. Congratulations. Make it heavy, make it girthy, make it pushable and so it can push. That's the only consideration. Look at a tactical military vehicle and apply common sense accordingly. How's that sound? Mimic an M880, mimic a CUCFI, mimic an M715. Look at how they modified them and there's the modifications you need to make. Mimic it exactly. How does that, yeah, it makes it real simple. Mark doesn't have to explain little tidbits. Mimic it exactly. both inside and out remember inside plain chain no snag points everything you eliminated that he can be eliminated all for the troops seats try to go the simplest van seats you can find that bear bones uh... reason that way there's no snag points again easy to get enough in and out of the plain Jane low-end are you may want to modify something that to take something else to make a better seat that's up to you guys you figured out combinations. The only other thing I like to do with a van, and I will point this out again, is what we call a pylon seat. Remember the pylons? They couldn't make a decision without three people. Well, the driver's station, the rider's station, and then in the middle and just back from the doghouse in the middle of between the two seats, set up a third seat from another van. Go get one from a junkyard or from these scrap yards where they're crushing things left and right. They don't want the seats, they're plastic anyway. so it might have a metal base, you might have to trade out for a little metal, you might even have to pay a flat rate for it. Don't go crazy, it doesn't have to be a pretty seat, but ideally just a plain chain, not hardly adjustable, doesn't have any electronics, and what you do is you sit it back behind and between the other two seats. Now if you really want to get fancy, break out your tin can opener, your pneumatic cutter, cut yourself a moon roof and up above. In fact, go to the junkyard again or go to the scrapyard. Look at the vehicles that are laying there right now. You'll find moon roofs that are big enough that they're like emergency hatches like you find on moving, on campers. You'll find RV. This is another option, is to use an RV camper or emergency roof. And what you do is you make sure that you don't cut any crossbars on the van so that determines where you're going to put the seat. Or, forgive me, where you're going to put the seat and the escape hatch up above, which is actually your gunner station. When the time comes you can pop that hatch and you actually can, you know, the roof, the guy can actually be a roof gunner. Congratulations, real simple system. Moon roofs work the same way, it's up to you. But remember again, one of the things you might want to do with the moon roof, although you can leave the glass in there, remember glass is breakable, one of the other options is to tin in the, or metal in the glass area. Take and replace the glass with metal, with just simple sheet metal. That way you've got something that can take a little bit of abuse, you're not going to have to worry about raining down on you. Now, the advantage of that is if you've got to get out of the vehicle, smacking the glass is not a big deal, crack, crack, and pushing, you're out. So there's where the balance is. Just ideas, guys. Things you can do, and again, it benefits you while you're there, and it benefits the overall cause when you leave. That's the only thing I ask. other than that again chipping real quick guys uh... remember go to liberty tree radio dot for m g dot com and go to the chip and down below we do need assistance we've got a cold we've got to meet that gold with regard to a single bill in order to save money you're going to see you can see right there with the dollar amount for a specific element of our overall costs are uh... we did this so we could say that much more but it means we need everybody's assistance to get to that goal So if you could, pitch in there. It's Friday. It may be payday for you. It may not be payday for you. I don't know. It depends. But if you can, help out to whatever degree and whatever level that you can. Does everybody understand what I'm talking about here? One man's job is to have a... you know we'll strange i for the queer guy no you're not going to worry about that but you know i mean uh... in this case guys it's your job to go around and observe for instance for the back of the vehicle if somebody feels that they need to cover something up as a picture are you know an image by sterilizing like we can world war two we've always been operational security and you may still need to do this even though you've already sterilized it remember mister duct tape is your friend you can get packed up duct tape uh... green in fact i go to the dollar string at the cheapie junkie stuff but you get and sometimes you have to wear something that actually is real duct tape But typically it's not real fancy stuff and again you're the prices right you only don't go crazy with this stuff only cut what you need to cover up bumper stickers to cover up markers and ID I would go so far as that if you're in the field and here's another thing to think about if you're out in the field guys and You're in an extreme environment who cares what up somebody's gonna read your license plate best way to deal with that make covers of plastic construction material you can use uh... final fighting but you want to make it so that literally will hang on and clip over the license plate completely to cover it up now the reason i bring up final fighting is guess what look at the colors you can get final fighting in Wow tactical colors earth gray earth brown OD green Forest green take your pick. There's so many colors in fact you're gonna see a neat little project I'm finishing up here using multi Vinyl siding panels that are cut in odd shapes because they're leftovers to make camouflage patterns out of wall fixtures Yeah, for stuff that we use for training, but also for other projects too. The point is that most all the vinyl siding is now in earth tones, just like your lawn furniture is in earth tones. Look at all the plastic paints that were designed to go on plastic that are now tactical earth tones. You don't have to worry about trying to find camouflage paint. You've got selections now. What color combination do you want? Okay, so the same is true with a duct tape but one person goes around and neutralize all of the vehicles that way you may want to change out and cover up the tires as far as Xing them out but let me ask you something. Here's something I'm going to challenge everybody to. I noticed in several pictures that guys are using their personal jeeps which is fantastic and they've got raised letter tires on their vehicles. Why are the white letters out? Here's the first rule. You may look cool, but you're trying to be tactical. Right off the bat, you may have to spend a few dollars, but if you've got a friend that's got a garage, what you need to do is take every one of those tires and flip them around black side out. Is everybody listening to me now? If you're going to be using them for, I'm putting them good here, and they look great. But you're going to be using it for a tactical vehicle for a month or two. So you know what? The tires need to be reversed. black wall out, white letters inboard. And rotate them like Nancy just said. Just rotate them. That will settle the whole problem real quick. But you need to do this because one of the things that I need, because the markers, all the things that will identify the vehicle, guys, eliminate them. You're not going to have to cut them out, but for the time that you're going to be tactical with these vehicles, reverse the tires. They need to be blacked out anyway. And you don't want to have to use spray paint. People want to spray paint them. How about you just change them out? flip them around it saves a lot of bs and a lot of problems now another thing you need helmet i forgive me covers for your vehicles for your tires you want a cheap solution for that guys look around and all the surplus dealers have the woodland or five color or three color desert pattern backpack covers that were made for the donut of destruction you want to know something Those make the neatest vehicle camouflage cover for no work other than just putting them on that you can afford. Now granted, if you want to change and do the subdued, there was a really nice cover on the one picture on the one Jeep and I like that and that's very well executed. You want to do that? Fantastic. But if you're looking for a quick solution, you can still take paint and modify the coloration if you want to break it up even more. But Woodland, Both the five color desert and three color desert are available in the Atlas pack or backpack elasticized covers. They came through the system cheap, cheap, cheap several years ago and I've got barrels full of these things that we have on standby. One of our friends took those things and made uh... michigan militia michigan or wolverine core how our vehicle covers with the logo and they look very and they were very well done uh... in this case first time sterilize the vehicle that'll cover up the uh... tire that will subdue the ram and will take care of some other problems so anyway ideas fell apart of the license plate cover here's the thing the guy make sure that everybody's license plate cover is on and that it's secure it in place. A little bungee system or a little rubber system could be used actually like a rubber band, heavy rubber band system can be used to hold the cover on the license plate. When you are leaving the area, a checklist for that man is in place. Anything that needs to be denutrallized, for instance the license plate covers, will come off at a given point and it's part of the checklist for that man's responsibilities on the way out of the training area or the tactical combat area slash the patrol area. You see how this works? It has to be part of the SOP, Standard Operating Procedure, for that individual. His job is to halt the column. Do a quick spot check. Take off duct tape if that's what needs to be done and to remove license plate covers so that there are no conflicts once you're back in the general population area. Prior proper planning prevents piss poor performance. We're going to hear the music here any moment now I'm pretty sure because we are at the top. And so another reminder if you can go to LibertyTreeRadio.4MG.com LibertyTreeRadio.4MG.com On the right hand side it says donate, PayPal, and what you do is go to that key, tag it, and it will take you right to, it takes you all the things that are available. Colonial Marine Rifle Marksmanship and Data Book, that of course will give you the basics, and not more than the basics. It will give you specs and numbers. So you'll understand better what you need to do to bring that weapon up and online and into the zero. Then, Citizens Rulebooks of course. Also, PM 7658A, which is combat recon manual. That's $15 and that's available on the PayPal site there too, which you can use PayPal or whatever credit cards I assume. In fact, there's a little portfolio thing right there. Anyway, solutions, not just lamenting about the problems. We've got the round table coming up next, I'm pretty sure. So you all stay tuned there. We'll be back at 8 o'clock with the Quartermaster's Corner, because it's Quartermaster Friday, guys. Remember, solutions. God bless the Republic, death of the new world order.
