Mark Koernke discussed firearms and preparedness on the second hour of his afternoon show on June 30, 2010. The episode featured an extended conversation with caller Marcus from Georgia about the FN FAL rifle, specifically a new Century Arms rebuild (STG 58/G1 model) available from Classic Arms for under $700. Topics included magazine compatibility across .308 platforms (FAL, M14, HK91), web gear systems from various eras (BAR belts, British Type 58, ALICE gear), and the versatility of the Saiga 12-gauge shotgun with hourglass slugs and drum magazines. Koernke and callers discussed tactical load-bearing equipment, ammunition selection, and long-range shotgun capabilities. The show concluded with a funeral announcement for Clint Daire, a former Wolverine militia commander, with visitation and service details for Barker-Leek Funeral Home in Mulliken, Michigan.
Live 365 O sons of the Republic, arise, take a stand, defend the Constitution, the Supreme Law of the land, preserve our great Republic and each God given right, and pray to God to keep the torch of freedom bright. As Iowoke, he vanished in the mist from whence he came. His words were true, we are not free, but we have ourselves to blame. For even now his tyrants trample each god-given right. We only watch him tremble, too afraid to stand and fight. If he stood by your bedside in a dream while you were asleep and wondered what remains of the freedoms he'd fought to keep, what would be your answer if he called out from the grave? Is this still the land of the free? And good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen. This is the second hour of the afternoon. Intelligence report, I'm Mark Kornke. one day closer to victory for all of our brothers and sisters both on and behind the lines in occupied territories Central, West, Southeast and North. Well ladies and gentlemen you're listening to us on LibertyTreeRadio.4mg.com, pbn.4mg.com, and we are on live 365. Then go to Liberty Tree Radio. We are on AM and FM microstations, CB base stations, and UltraNet technologies east and west of the Mississippi, along with southern and central Alaska. We're on the Hallmark Network on the Eastern Seaboard, top of Maine, bottom of Florida, bottom of Florida, across the arc of the Gulf of Mexico, headed towards Louisiana, Texas, Oklahoma, and Nebraska. Oh, the third of Wyoming, Iowa slash Iowa, and then the Golden Spike Project on the Blue Ridge Mountains. That's right. The restaurant crew, grandma teams, and the OK teams, congratulations. Thank you very much for the work you've done there. It is the end of the month. Oh my goodness, it is June 30th. Second year of Fabian socialist and Soviet socialist occupation of America with a K. And that means that we're looking at some pretty scary Twilight Zone kind of stuff going on there. Hey, what's up, Cockroach? Anyway, it has been pretty busy weapons Wednesday. Got a lot of other stuff done. I will note again, right at the top of the hour here, classic arms. A lot of people have been asking, hey, what about the FN FAL? Now, you know, we love the FN FAL. The biggest problem has been the price of the FN FAL. They have an under seven or about $700, it looks to be an STG 58 slash. a G1 assault rifle slash, well it's not an assault rifle, it's an MBR, that's what the FN-FAL was. It's an FN-FAL knockoff. This is the built-in bipod, the whole nine yards, steel, all the steel components that make the STG-58 and the G1 so famous. It is a beautiful firearm. It comes with three magazines. I believe it comes with three 20-round mags. I'm going to call them tomorrow and say, hey guys, might want to check the print out there. They do make 30 rounders, but they're aftermarket. Very rare you'll find the military 30 rounders out there. 20 round mags, just fine. It's an MBR. It's in 7.62 NATO, slash, 308. So we don't really want any larger magazine capacity than that, and we want it reliable. The FNF-AL is an incredibly reliable and very accurate firearm. I do not know about the barrel and I do not know which receiver they use because they didn't offer the data and I caught this at 15 minutes before the first hour and didn't get a chance to talk to anybody at that end. I was talking to the guys there but I didn't get a chance to find out about it until too late. So we will get more information on that and I will follow up tomorrow, forgive me, and I'll talk to them probably about 10 o'clock. Go away McFriggin, 11 o'clock Eastern time. Wait a minute. Oh, that's right. We're doing three hours in the morning too. I don't know if I'm going to talk to them until afternoon the way it sounds. That's right. Anyway, in the morning we're doing an extra hour. Frank, from Frankly Speaking, has had to take some time off. Joe asked that we pick up another hour there, so he called and said, hey, I need your help. And so it's not a problem. We pitch in on that. So we're doing the morning intel report from 9 to noon now, and of course, still doing our regular hours that we've done here. A little history on this too. You've got to remember WTPRN was supposed to stay up and online. Keyword was supposed to. We know what happened behind the scenes on that. But we kept the traditional hours that we established because LTR was also running the same broadcast. Some of you may have just recently, I know we got some emails. Wow, I thought you guys were offline. Now... I'm gonna ask you something here and I'm gonna, I want everybody to think about this. Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen, this is the Intel report. Remember we're on like back in the day, I would always say WTPRN and LibertyTreeRadio.4mg.com. Little hint there, I've always given out all the locations. If we're not on one, we're probably on the other or the other or the other or the other or the other or the other. Wait a minute. So I'm gonna ask it's like no we didn't go off we went W T PR and went off but LTR didn't go off and Ed's been doing a fine job of maintaining LTR for years it's his radio network and he has maintained it. It's kind of weird where I put the camera there's a ghost in me no matter where I put it. Yeah I know it's actually fleshed in the glass. So we're experimenting with another location for the camera and well actually there's a bunch of fixtures. Well We had some critics again who were saying, well how come we can't see the reflection of the glass? How come we're seeing that it's like Mark isn't in the booth? So, hey guys, for the critics, now we've got the glass for the booth and you can see my reflection, so wow. Ghosts in the machine. Of course, as soon as we did that, we had actually a comment in the chat room, how come we can see through Mark? And I gotta tell you, I cracked up because we've had, it's like, okay, well, it was a reflection, guys. But, you know, it's like, no matter what you do, you gotta critic one way or the other. You've got Ed right there, by the way. I think we have a caller. Who do we have? Hey, it's Marcus down here. Georgia, what's up, fellows? Hey, Marcus. Are you all alive down there still? Yeah, yeah. Oh, let me turn down my speaker. Okay, so, feed that, and if I don't do it. There we go. And we're a little delayed, I know that. Go right ahead. Hey, uh... The rifle you were talking about from Classic Arms? Yes. That's a Century Arms Rebuild of the German G1 copy of the FMFL. It uses metric magazines. There we go. Well, I was curious about who was making the receiver. So is it a Century receiver or is it an Imbell? Because Century has used both. Now if it's a Century, they're okay. The biggest problem is Century putting it together. I think the right well the ones I have are in bells that I had to modify to make them function or feed with her That's why I ended up buying a Sega to shoot soft-dip ammo right? They're using American made receiver, so it's much better There we go. It's a higher quality original ones like the ones I've got from century arms. It's a much better rifle Very good. And again, they used an American made barrel, an American made receiver, and it's put together a whole lot better than the two I got from back in the day. Excellent. Now, the other thing I was curious about, what about the barrel? Did they say anything about the barrel being made US or is it an import barrel with the kit? No, it's an actually American made barrel. Interesting. It's a pretty good barrel. It's a brand new barrel. What it is is they are surplus rifles. The Germans are going to the H&K 91. They call them the G3 because it is a little bit lighter weapon. They are just phasing toward the H&K. What they did is they bought up a bunch of the FNFL G1 and they re-engineered them so they could import them. I have seen one of them already. The neighbors got one. And it's a nice quality rifle. Matter of fact, he got it from Classic Arms and he's quite happy with it. Very good. And again, one of the reasons we were curious too is a lot of people have been looking for a weapon that was reasonably priced. And we mentioned that, you know, but we have not forgotten the Sega's guys. We know about those. The Sega is... Well, the thing is, the FM, the metric mag, is a lot more... it's easier to find mags for it than a Sega and they're cheaper. Yes, exactly. One of the things... Now, the price, what was the base price they've got listed there? I just glanced at it. I thought it was like $690 or $680. Right at $700. Right at $799. Oh, right. Well, no, it's under $700. It's $699.95, I'm sure. Yeah, I mean, I think, team, he got three 20-round magazines with it, too. Good. Now, that's, yeah, they were 20s. That's what I expected. Now, the other nice thing, guys, for anybody wondering if you're thinking, well, maybe we're throwing some stuff out here. Most people are familiar with the FAL. If you're using the FAL, the M14 mag pouches, the HK91 mag pouches, Israeli FNFAL mag pouches, that's what they were built for is this rifle. So amazingly enough, you got a nice little combo pack here. Very comfortable rifle to shoot. Built-in bipod, there's a bunch of other features. Just look up STG58 or G1 rifle. In both cases, all the features are the same. It was a co-produced weapon at the time. A contract rifle with the FNFL was built by pretty much every country in Europe on the western side at one point or another. They may have gone away from it, but they had it in service. So there's a lot of spare parts. There's a lot of extra mags. And before I go any farther, I'm going to give this out to Gun Parts Corporation, PO Box 299, West Hurley, New York, 12491-0299. Their customer service number is 845-679-4867. That's 845-679-4867. Again, if you want to check to see what they have in the way of parts for the G1, there's a lot of stuff laying there. And then GunPartsGuy.com. GunPartsGuy.com. He specializes in the FN FAL. So anything you want to know about this rifle, he'll be able to update you and give you specifics. Go ahead, Marcus. What else? And he's real friendly too. Yes, he's a really great guy. In fact, if you're like... Go ahead. One thing you come up with is that guys remember Your FNSAL, G3, Sega, or 308 mags will all fit. You can put two of them. Instead of doing it long ways, the old Vietnam era 3, ouch, AR-15, AM-16 mag holder, you can cut those dividers out at the top and you can put in two in an old Vietnam era AR-15. So you can actually use Your web gear, that's your Vietnam era stuff for your AR15M16, you can actually cut those dividers out and be able to use them for your .308 rifle and for your .223. Over. Exactly. The big thing here is, again, there are inexpensive solutions to the mag pouches, so that's not a problem. Find something that will fit the system you've committed to if you already have a web gear system in place. There are mag pouches that will fit on the MOLLE gear that will handle the M14 mag. We find the solutions we just described. Take care of the Alice gear. Remember the British Type 58. Webgear was built for the FNFAL. So if you see any of the British load-bearing equipment, we basically call it TA, but they call it the Mark 58, they're the Model 58. That Webgear has FNFAL mag pouches all over the system. It's really cool. The problem is it's not been available in great numbers. There may be some of it available through some of the different jobber companies and that makes it worth checking out. That means you might have to switch out your gear a little bit, but you can add a lot of the American LC equipment, Alice gear, to the Type 58 gear to round it out. And it will, again, all the mag pouches that are built onto the pouches and on the pouches that are on the pouches. I'm not exaggerating, that's how it's built. There's a utility pouch and there'll be a mag pouch on one side and a mag pouch on the other. The idea is to distribute your extra mags all over the web gear so that the weight distribution balances out. You're not heavy forward. Especially with the idea that you're wearing vests, you might be wearing, for instance, body armor. You might be wearing a pouches. the security vest and wearing a flak vest over top of that. You may have any of the new armor. This is actually the 58 gear is quite useful in that respect that it helps to redistribute the weight because you're carrying additional armor on top of the weapons components, weapons support mags, etc. and your personal gear. So a lot of cool systems out there and the FN FAL has a lot of support items in terms of all of the HK 91 cleaning kits will work in the FN FAL guys. They're 30 caliber and 30 caliber, 308 and 308. So those HK 91 cleaning kits that were so cheap, cheap, cheap, a couple dollars to $3 a piece, they still have some of them at Maine Military Dock... Maine Military Stock. Yep. Those are available and they're a good cleaning kit and they're German issues so they match the rifle. They're correct for the weapon. As far as mags themselves, like you said, they're more commonly available for the metric and you'll have to shop around to find the best price or maybe find a certain model that you prefer. There are different manufacturers in the magazines in military production so you might find a certain flavor you prefer over another. Shop around and experiment. What is the best price? What about ammo right now Marcus? I haven't had a chance to spot check on some of the other ones. Classic Arms. They're through their Red Weight Green 70's production something. 308. They've got the best price on a thousand rounds of ammo. Or 12, whatever it is. 1240. Classic Arms are the best price. One other thing, guys, you know the old bar? Remember the 1918? The B.A.R. The Browning Automatic Rifle, the B.A.R. Well, the mag, if you can find the old mag holders for it. The M14G3, the F and F AL, all those strips and that same mag holder. I've got one that was made in September of 1918. It's in mint condition. It's been in the woods one time. I wanted to see how well it worked and it works well. It's in reed. I could make an ammo belt out of one of those old bar belts. That'd be an awesome thing. Actually, the way that works, the BAR belts, what you do is use the US butt pack, Model 1956, the three-day pack. Exactly. Put that on the back of the BAR belt. That gives you stations because it depends on how big around you are too. But the BAR belts adjusted quite a bit and there are three models to watch for. The first model was the original assault model that was built for the BAR. The front right station where normally there would be a mag pouch actually had a buttstock cup. Now, it's the rarest today, but it used to be out there in large quantities, which means you kind of lose a mag pouch. But that was designed for the BAR in its original configuration without the bipod. And the soldier was actually expected to stick the buttstock into that station and walk forward and hip fire in the assault position. Then there were five mag pouches and that's it. Then of course you had the rest of your gear and it had the 1910 grommet hangers that are on the bottom of the pouches. Always look for those. Now the next model has, for World War I, there are two variations on the theme, but the most common next model has a double 45 ACP mag pouch for the 1911 because when you were carrying the BAR they expected you to carry the 45. as your personal defense weapon. How do you like that? So the neat thing is that you have a five mag pouch, two 45 mag pouches, 45 seven-round slips for a double mag pouch station built right into the belt, and you can still add all the other gear because it has the eye hanger grommets up above. You know, it's set up for the top of the belt. The third model, most common and the cheapest typically, is a 6-mag pouch, 3 and 3. Forgive me, 6 pocket pouch. It carries two mags in each pouch. The FNFAL. Yep, so you're carrying 12 mags. you can still use the 1910 hanger grommets on the base guys for all the utility pouches that are still out there. The first aid pouches from World War II to Vietnam will all hang off that. The compass and compressed pouches will hang off the base of that belt. You take the butt pack and put it in the back. You take two canteens, hook them to the side of the butt pack, left and right. Use a standard H-type suspender. Your back suspension points hook up to the butt pack. Your front single suspension points will hook up anywhere along the front that you want to hook them up. I got mine set up Mark. I got a 45 hanging off of it too. If they're World War I, the window is about 1918, though again, plus or minus, some are made earlier, some are made a little later. They made some up to the 20s, those are rarer because obviously we had to set, you know, it was post-war and it was the end of, the war to end all wars, so we stopped making stuff. Well, then World War II comes around and again, boy, it was involved, but everybody that made canvas made BAR belts. and you will find them in good condition. Remember they also made them in Korea and we still had the BAR in service at the beginning of Vietnam. A lot of guys carried them. In fact, we had, as part of our Special Forces training, we had two RPDs and we had two BARs that were issued out to us. Once the guys fired the BARs, you couldn't get them out of their hands. The men who had a chance to carry the BAR that were young, that had never used them before, all of a sudden they were like, man, this is the gun. This is the weapon. And in 30-06, superiority and penetration, superiority and firepower, incredibly accurate. And again, you didn't have to stitch them with 20 rounds. You could stitch them with three to five round bursts, and it would do the job. Guys could write their names in the BAR like they could write their name with a Thompson, as everybody used to joke. In that configuration of the BAR belt, is a good option. Remember that there's an in-between system I've never talked about for the weapons guys. Some of you may have noticed that you've gotten pistol belts with, have you ever noticed this with snaps every so many inches? located the snaps are right in the middle of the pistol belt, right in the center lengthwise and they're stationed all the way around the pistol belt. and everybody looks at those and is like, well that's kind of weird. Well, think for a minute. You'll notice the first variation on this is that on all of your older World War II pistol belts, they had one snap. It was on the left side and it was built so you could snap in the standard 45 holster, forgive me, a magazine pouch. It snapped into place so it wouldn't slide around. Well, the next system they adopted was actually an in-between pre-56. Actually, it was going to be adopted with all the new camouflage in the 50s. The Snap System was so that you could accommodate the carbine mag pouches, the 45 ACP mag pouches, or the brand new single mag M14 mag pouches. And if you look, you'll find that some, you still see them. They used to be in surplus all over the place. They will fit one M14 mag, or one FNFAL, or one HK91 mag. They also have a double grommet in the bottom of the, at the bottom of the mag pouch. They're made out of a lighter canvas. so that they can hang a medical pouch or a first aid pouch or whatever. And this was designed to be, it was kind of like, you know, predates all the MOLLE stuff and was again another modular idea so that you could snap it in the back, it laid on with a slip over top of the pistol belt, And you could make up a baby BAR belt with 6 mag pouches, although again only 1 mag per pouch, 3 on each side, and then still hook up your utility pouches, put your butt pack in the back, or you could make an entire belt of nothing but M14 mag pouches. which is what a lot of guys did when these things were issued. Another thing we were doing for the longest time is Marcus is making carbine kits. Nancy's was set up like this for quite some time and if you look in the ambush video that we did, she's wearing double 30 round mag pouches and she's wearing, and the rest of the kit is set up with 30 round, or forgive me, 15 round carbine pouches. Well that belt that she has is a snap system belt and that's what it was designed for. The 30 rounders have a snap in the back. You pop that into place left and right and then the 15 rounders go up front. They snap into each of the snap stations and then you still have your backpack rig or your butt pack rig to the rear. Or in this case I think I lightened hers up for that one and we went with nothing but 15 rounders. It was a fire power kit for the medic. The idea is that lots of ammunition but lightweight and the medic is still carrying the cormans gear etc etc etc. So there's a lot of other systems that were systems under themselves. They were out there. The government put them out in an XM pattern or they put them out in a utility group and then they didn't withdraw them because they still integrated with everything else. It's just nobody was ever taught how to use the equipment. So, BAR solution, there's another one. And if you do have those, like you said, baby them for now and take care of them. They're going to be priceless in the field down the road. What else you got for us today? That's exciting. Well, one thing I was going to say is, all you guys that do not have a sub-automatic main battle rifle, that's fine. Just be really accurate with your bolt gun. There's nothing wrong with you carrying a high quality bolt action rifle or if you want to get you a one of those classic arm 99 dollar Mozen to Guts and a 10.62, 54R or something like that. If you don't want to carry some automatic, that's fine. Just get you a rifle that you can trust. Make sure it's in great mechanical position, extra firing for an extractor, other small parts, whatever. And like I said, because there's nothing wrong with a man with a five shot bolt action rifle, that knows what he's... that a guy with an AK that just praying and praying. Oh... Yep, actually don't worry that accurate fire with those main battle rifles will harvest all of the other things that are needed. As we've pointed out, when I look at my enemy, all I see is a shopping cart. That's exactly how I look at him. I don't look at him as anything I know. What you call a resupply pod? That's right, he is. A mobile resupply pod. Looky there, Marcus. He's got a pair of boots that look like they'll fit me. Yeah, but you wear the same size whoever runs up there first gets them You know what I did that in him in the battle for the Republic winter war I don't want to ruin it for anybody but if you read the first few chapters we kind of address that issue in a roundabout way because we put you like I put you into the The cold as quick as we can and there's a pair of boots that are really important to everybody that's looking at them and Everybody's thinking when the race starts those pair of boots are gonna be mine Same is true with the rest of the car. That's one thing reason why you carry a sewing kit into the field. You know that, Dr. That's right. Well, you're going to have to fix those little holes. Stitch up the holes. Super glue and some spare rags for stitching, for patching stuff up and then, you know, sew them into place the rest of the way. It'll work out just fine. The other option is, I guess you could use those patch kits that have little leaf patterns on them and the little pieces of elastic. That way you can just iron them on. or heat them up and glue them in place and then stitch them in the rest of the way. There we go, patches that bigger hole up just fine. The big thing here is again with regard to the weapons, you know, MBRs, we're talking about main battle rifles. Do not confuse, just because it says, Strim Gewehr, STG, does not mean that it was an assault rifle. It's a storm weapon, storm rifle. But in this case with the FNFL, it was a, it's still an MBR, main battle rifle. It does not fit really into the niche of assault weapon. Certainly it could be used in that role, but the same is true of the M14, same is true of the HK91. But because it's in .308, it is a main battle rifle cartridge that actually offers superiority at range. That's the key. You still have good firepower. You get into trouble, you can swing that barrel around, and you can dump a 20 round mag as fast as you can pull the trigger, guys. And that'll give you the firepower you need. But take advantage of the range. The FN FAL was an incredibly accurate weapon, the M14, hey it's won national matches over and over again. And the HK91, well after all, if all you can carry it, so can you, it is a fine weapon. And still the cheapest right now for mags. HK91 mags are still in a couple dollars apiece for the moment. They've started to creep up here and there and you're seeing the price going back the other way. F and FL mags used to be that cheap. They're still cheap by comparison to most and certainly cheaper than the Sega mags. That's going to be one of the problems as you're dealing with brand new Sega mags that are made out of a new factory to new dollars. That's one of the reasons that the prices are higher on certain weapons because it's in the new dollar range. The surplus you paid for 30 and 40 and 50 years ago. Plus we paid the interest on that too, whichever country bought it and they got their money's worth out of them. So, you know, that's the difference. A lot of the new rifles that we have, they are new from the factory, they've had to take and bite the bullet, pardon the pun, and bear the brunt of the cost in development and also in final production. There's no compensation from, say, a factory run with the military of some kind. Doesn't mean the rifles aren't effective. We know the Sega is a devastating firearm and very, very effective in its own right. And so we're not dumping those in any way, shape, or form. But for those of you that have been looking for an FAL or may already have FNFALs in service, this is a solution. and you may find that, oh, that will fit my niche. That's the thing I was looking for. Do a little research if you're not familiar. We're not just bragging up any one firearm. This is a good option though. And it's one of the better designed FNFLs. These STG and G1 series rifles like that had some nice features. The built-in bipod was one of them. If nothing else, remember this is one of the things where the bipod comes in handy. We are in a temperate environment. We deal with snow and ice and mud. And if you can keep your weapon up out of that debris, your weapon will function that much better. Now, a bipod helps to be able to do that. The cool thing is, when you're not using it, it's not in the way. Take a look at the design. I know it's going to happen, Marcus. People are going to go to classicarms.us and they're going to look at the picture. What they don't realize is that when you look at the photograph, you're looking at the photograph with the bipod folded up and it's part of the foregrip. It literally is built into the foregrip and it's not a cheesy design. This is a steel construction. Very, very well made. So that's another thing where it's another feature. They dried up real fast. We tried to get people to pick up on them and of course people did listen. A lot of you listening have the rifles we recommended that you buy. So the problem is that by the time everybody responded to them, we didn't get the ones we wanted. Man, that makes a lot of people angry. Well, just frustrated. So one other thing Mark, for a main battle weapon, you're always going to need guys that are going to be your appointment with your... One thing I wanted to bring up along with what you're saying though about getting yourself out, that when you're on patrol guys, your lead nad, he's carrying an AK, he needs to have a 75 round drum mag. So I'd recommend guys, if you can, go together and pick up one or two drum mags and as your lead man carrying that, the other thing is this new Sega 12 gauge shotgun that holds 10 rounds in a 10 round magazine. Those Sega 12 gauges are an awesome fire power thing. I got to shoot one and I was really impressed. The recoil is not bad. They're very controllable and you can fire them as fast as you want to. down at your hip and you can definitely, you want to spray and pray, that's a real machine gun. Over. Right. Poor man's squad gunner SMG because, well remember that every time you pull the trigger that can be 20 to 30 pellets of double lot number 4. Double lot would be about 12 to 14 depending on what it is you're using, what chambering, up to 20 and then you're looking at anywhere from 22 to 30 in number four buck and think about BB going down range. If you do a mix on that, nothing that's down in front of you in a hallway, nothing that's, you know, especially with a rear guard action. This is a great tail end Charlie gun. Boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom. Everything that's behind you will be beaten with something. That's what you want. And again, don't shorten the barrel. Don't shorten the barrel. It's already short enough as it is. It's kind of like that scenario in Red Dawn. I still use it because it's funny. The kids, when they fire back, you see poor ol' Yuri. You aughty! You aughty! Well, remember, Yuri actually is running through the woods and there's this nice tight pattern of leakage right on the coat where you can see every bullet went right where it was supposed to. Now, poor ol' Yuri climbs up the hill and jumps into the suburban thinking, or the bra, forgive me, the blazer thinking he's gonna get away. Yeah, blazer. And he's bleeding all over the place, leaking blood left and right because all those nice tight patterns stayed where they were supposed to. It's just they were using bird shot. Well, after they're all done and Yuri didn't make it, Yuri of course gets shot in the vehicle. I'd have dragged him out because I don't want parts all over all the other goodies I'm going to take out of the thing. But they let Yuri sit there and he shot him in the vehicle. Well, afterwards you see, oh that's right, one of the main characters going, with a hacksaw to the shotgun barrel. Why? It did what it was supposed to do. He was aiming. He hit right on the money. I just want bigger pellets That's all and for that matter, you know, he did it probably even had I mean, we don't know it's a movie who knows what the hell he was loading with but it did its job Don't go shorter If you go shorter, that's down the road when you're flush weapons and you've got a lot more goodies, then you decide in a combat situation if you need a close-in weapon with a little more spray. But otherwise, guess what? That shotgun like that Sega with a present barrel that's on it and a 10-round magazine, I don't want to stand in front of that thing. I'm getting the hell out of the way. I can hear an echo when it's pointed at me. Hello, hello, hello, hello. Oh, I think I'll listen. You're talking about the vacuum that's created and the pop that occurs, or that vacuum bubble collapses as your butt's moving? That's right. One second, you were standing there, and the next second you're over that 10-foot cyclone fence. Trust me. And you won't even know how you got there. That's what the old fight and flight routine is all about, an adrenaline rush. So that's why again, the SAGAs, magazine fed shotguns were an excellent choice. Remember they attacked them guys. There's a reason. We talked about it back in the 90s when the, especially the Daewoo started to come out. The Daewoo was a They were rifle on steroids and 12 gauge. Well, they blocked them from coming in. Why? Because it was a military application, semi-automatic, magazine-fed shotgun. Now the SEGA is a beautiful example or a variation on that. By the way, let's not forget there was the SPAS-15. Remember, Arnold Oates wanted the SPAS-12, but after the SPAS-12, The Spas-15 came into the country for just a little bit. Only about 15 to 1700 of them got into the United States. They showed up at the gun shows. Everybody kind of said, man, it looks like an M16 that was made out of taffy. Everything was kind of stretched out a little bit. That's exactly what they did. And the weapon worked very well. Its market was pulled off from underneath it because they blocked it from coming into the US. So in all of these cases, they made drums for them. So there are drums out there to sample. Now if somebody who's a good tin knocker who knows what he's doing with sheet metal, could make a drum, for home use of course, but could make, based upon the drums available for the either the Spas 15 or the Daewoo, could build a drum for the Sega. Now, once that idea is in place and once the concept is laid down, expanding on production wouldn't be too hard. Just imagine that 12 gauge with a 25 or a 20 round magazine backing it up. I would say that's a walking claymore. What do you think, Marcus? Well, 10 round ain't bad either, especially if you find number ones or single off. Well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, Again, quick mag. Remember, you're looking at a real nice mag change on this. These things are very comfortable and easy to use. It is not a complicated issue to drop the mag and pop the next one in. So with the 10 rounders or whatever you've got. And you don't get rid of your smaller mags because of that guys. Any magazine is a good magazine with all of these weapons. I keep even the five rounders constantly up and online with the AKs because if I slide the scope onto the rail beside the weapon and I want to start using it for a light anti-personnel range rifle, like a mini drag it off, then I want to be able to get close to the ground and those five round hunting mags come in really handy then. or the 10 rounder. Hey Mark and Marcus. Hey brother how you doing? Yes fine. Hey I do have a drum for my Sega 12. It's Mississippi Arms Sheldon for $89.20 rounds. Excellent. Do they still have any in stock? Yeah I just got a note from them a little bit ago that was telling me they still had some more in stock. Yeah they had them on special for $89.99. It's beautiful. Mississippi Arms? Mississippi Arms dot com. I wouldn't want to be with an honored fit, but that's the range of that thing. It's only less than a two inch drunk. Now, real quick, go ahead George, go ahead. Yeah, they're up about 100 yards. It's 2.7 inches high, 150 is right on the money at 200 yards. It's four inches low. Now, real quick on that, does anybody put a rail on the side of that for scopes? Because the one they single up on the Sega shotgun. I do have a rail on the side of it with a helicopter on it. It's pretty good. It's a discount. That's the same range that the let's put it this way. They're telling everybody it's in the uniform that wall the average engagement range is only 200 to 220 yards. Guys, instead of putting a 50-53 grain bullet down range, you're putting a 500 grain hourglass down range at comparable velocities. In fact, let's put it this way, close enough that the weight of the bullet more than compensates for the velocity if there's a variance and it's reduced. Because you're putting 500 grains, that's 10 times the potential of the M16 round. So again, throw weight. When you do get down range and it hits and finds what it's looking for, it's going to deliver all that kinetic energy. We had the original BRI hourglass slugs by themselves, and we actually were loading up our own loads, and we had the loads from the company from years ago when they first developed these. This was an aerospace company. A couple of young engineers developed the hourglass slug and the SABOs first. Remington, eventually, I think, picked up the patents. And that's who has, of course, the majority of them. Let's see, who's the other one? Fiaci, I think, is making a sable also, aren't they? Or today is what there was use. I've got Winchester and or today with the or today's other best Yeah, there we go and again, so you're looking at accuracy So here's where again versatility a lot of people saying well if I'm carrying a shotgun I'm not gonna have the range well I think 200 yards is serviceable for a shotgun or any rifle off off the shoulder. What do you think? So if you have when you got a threaded distance duh boom boom boom actually be more like boom and Let's wait and see oh yeah, he tumbled over up someone's coming to help him boom there We go got that one too. Oh, there's something closer wait a minute. You can even drop the mag switch over to and whoa I think I got whatever was behind that bush. I think that number four buck did it. Number four, an arcane load, double out buck, another arcane load, number four buck, no double out buck again. You know, when I say arcane, remember guys, you can load up something with a mix of shot. and it's a bugger because everything gets hit. What you do is use number eight for filler, use BB, use number four, number one, double lot, and mix it all together. And what happens is when it goes down range, that's a pepper box. Everything's getting hit with something. So, there's a lot of different solutions, but the SAGAs are, and we're not, I'm not, what happened guys, let's be honest. You know what, a couple years ago, remember we started talking about the SAGAs and really pumping them because they were down in price, remember that? Yeah. And they're not down in price anymore now, are they? No, they're not down in price either. And the reason is because everybody found out that they work. What happened is we actually changed the market on the SAGA, didn't we? Well I know I got one of the first in 308 that was a long barrel and you hear me talking about it and I'm here to tell you, you know, I'm a long range shooter when I was on active duty and I'm really impressed with my Sega. I got a new 308 too Mark, that is an excellent weapon. And it's unmodified, all I did was take the black stock and I bought a camouflage stock to go back on it. You know I don't want a thing to look like an AK, I want it to look like a hunting rifle. Like you said Mark, I got the 20-round mags too. But when you get down and get dirty and I slide the scoop on, I like those 5 and 8-round mags. I get down near the ground and shoot through that natural match ammo. is you have a tendency to have to raise up which makes you a little less stable. So wherever you can bring down the center of gravity and also bring your body in line more effectively with the weapon. Remember how you're holding it. You're going to see your accuracy go up, you're going to be breathing easier, you're going to stabilize the gun platform itself, and with that 12 gauge, like I said, you've got a 500 grain hourglass slug going down range. When that visits the target, the target's probably not getting up to talk to anybody. In fact, even if you have armor, remember that anything that's in that weight with that velocity It's going to scuttle long. It's not going to stop typically. What it's going to do is it's going to scuttle long, follow the path of least resistance to the edge of the armor, and then burrow in. I've watched this happen over and over again. So the cool thing is, especially with the hourglass slug, because remember it has that tapered bevel to the head. and what will happen is it won't blunt in, it will actually deflect and what will happen is whatever is giving underneath soft tissue along with the armor, it's going to scut along, go into the collar, going to go into the groin, going to go into the side of the abdomen, wherever it's going under the armpit, Now granted they've tried to cleft the armor to fix this problem, but it's still with this kind of weight it's like a big old fist that hits hard and focused well and then cuts a swathe across accordingly. At the very least it's delivering all that energy to the tuff, to the, to the, ah, ah, target, ah, I can't breathe very well, ah, ah, ah. Well Mark, well Mark, along with that, guys, don't look down your nose at a 20 gauge either because my longest kill with a 20 gauge is at 111 yards on a doe on a doe day over in Alabama. And that's not even using a scope, that's using a vented rib with a bead on the end of it that covers a 10 inch circle at 75 yards. And I got a doe in the neck and she was facing away from me and I shot right over the top of her back at 111 yards. And I counted 110, my brother counted it off at 111 and he counted it twice. and he's a carpenter and he's got a better measuring than I do when he comes to walking. But like I said guys, slugging, nothing, nothing, I don't care, even a 410 slug's wicked. You got a 20 gauge or a 12 gauge slug and we're not just talking BRI now, the Sabotage. Guys, don't turn your nose up at those, the right, what they call the right, if you've got them, don't waste them. Big old pumpkin slug. Well, the other thing guys now in both cases we're talking and we're looking at the 12 gauge Sega's George your what's your barrel length? What are you using on an average right now with that gun? It's a 19 inch barrel. See that's a good intermediate barrel. It's not too long not too short Does that one have a choke perfect the perfect barrel? Yeah, does that have a choke or is it built straight barrel? You can change it out to whatever you want. It has screw-in chokes if you want to use them. I was noticing that. I was wondering how those were turning out because we haven't had a chance to really experiment with all the variations on that. So anybody listening, if you're looking for a weapon where you want to use it for a bunny gun or a bird gun or deer season, then maybe use it for bird later. There you go. You can switch out the chokes accordingly to what you prefer. The other advantage is the optimal length. The 19 inch. First rule is this. I'm going to speak right to every listener. Don't cut your shotgun barrel down. I'm going to speak to every listener again. Don't cut your shotgun barrel down. Why? Well, we don't want to hear about any BS with anybody trying to muck with anyone. And I'm telling you, they'll play with a tape measure. A 19-inch barrel is more than short enough. If you learn to handle your weapon, you'll do just fine with it when the time comes and everybody will be happy. But you'll be happy because it can't pester you. The other thing there too is, now again, I know there's other color stocks. You bought the camo stock factory, right, Marcus? Oh, no, no, no. They used to make them. You can't find them anymore for the .308. There we go. But you can find them for the .223, the 10.62x39, and the 5.45. They make a camo stock for those things. I think they make them for the .223. But you can buy a woodland camo stock stock to put on those weapons. and I can't seem to find them anymore, but they probably make them. I just haven't really looked. Either that or they're worth buying them up. Oh, they bought them up. And the other thing guys you can do is, there's a sleeve that you can slide over your barrel in front of your weapon that you've just done. What I did to hide that long barrel on my .308, and well all my .308s, is I bought those camouflage claw things and just slid them up on there. And when you don't see this black thing, sticking out there, dark blue, or you see some of this camouflage, and then you might see the muzzle blast. Over. Now another trick with that, as long as you've got the sleeves, here's something to consider. Not that your barrel's going to get that hot, but you know what? Thermal insulating foil like they use on heat ducts. I'm running into it all the time. What you can do is actually line, because even with the insulation, the insulation's not going to burn. It's designed to take heat. This is what we did with the main tank gun barrels. People don't realize this, that the reason, well that looks like there's some kind of funny cloth on the tank barrel. You know what they did? They made a little heavier gauge aluminum foil that striated material inside it actually is striated aluminum. And then they put the standard heating insulation like you find on heat pipes for reducing the overall thermal signature. Now you can do the same thing only if you've got the sleeve like that, what you do is you can cut the smallest part you possibly can, overlap it and insert it into that and over the barrel, your camouflage sleeve is going to reduce any signature. If there's any thermal signature, it's going to knock most of that down. You're still going to have some, always, because that's a pretty hot object. But if it's only a single or a couple of shots, it's going to be dissipated to the point where it pretty well fogs it out. Just again, we're taking tank technology and we're rolling it over into our shotguns and rifles. A little trick there by the way, that SABO slug we're talking about, that's where they got the idea. They took tank technology with a discarding SABO in a standard anti-tank round and scaled it down to 12 and 20 gauge. So we're just going to take a little more of that technology and roll it over if we can. You can go so far as to actually use zip ties if you're careful and you don't want to get too tight. And even some spray paint and model the foil over yourself if you want to. It will take paint, it's going to fleck off. It did on the sleeves, it went on the 105s guys. I know that because we had to paint them over and over again. But it was designed to work and do its job. It did a good job. You used the anti-thermal paint, and you got a second layer. We stole it from the Air Force, or I should say from the Army Aviation Boys, or we bought it from them. We bought it for liquor or whatever. And then spray painted the gun tube shields accordingly. They were already set up with that later on, but there's different generations and different steps. And as the stuff wears out, you want to try and re-fab it as best you can. Well, proper tools mean that you get the proper end results. So, again, these are ideas. We've got into the Sega here, which is really cool, which is full circle. It's Weapons Wednesday. Guys, anything before we go, I've got to make one more announcement. George, Marcus, go ahead. That's it. I've got to get off, too, Marcus. God bless y'all. Very good. Thank you, sir, for the input. God bless you. Thank you, Marcus. God bless George. God bless you, Marcus. That's the new world order, guys. Good to hear from you, too. Marcus, anything else? No sir. Over. You stay right where we are. I got an announcement here because we got a minute or two. And again, this has to do with Clint Daire who passed away. This is a former, one of our former Wolverine militia commanders. He was living out of state. He, of course, this was not planned as we know. He unfortunately had cancer. And it was not just, you know, it was natural causes, but it was, you know, we would consider it premature. He was not that old. However, the brothers have taken care of transporting the body back to Michigan. We want to thank the individual who came forward and was helping with aviation transport. Apparently, this is a family friend that was helped in the past, and it's a tit-for-tat arrangement. So we want to thank you. We don't need to mention names there. A tentative visitation is going to be Thursday, July 1st, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Funeral is on Friday, July 2nd, at 11 a.m. if all goes well. We'll see how this works. We have a trumpeter for taps. We are still going to possibly need to back up color guard and in fact even if we had one color guard, more than one is more than acceptable. One will be an honorarium, others will be in standby and can again present the colors when the time comes. One person will be presenting the flag since Clint was a veteran, remember that. And he was a veteran of the militia, you know, so he served the country in many different ways. Anyway, Marcus, you still there? Yes, sir. I'll tell you what, please close with me if you would. God bless the Republic. Republic, death to a new world order. We shall prevail, ladies and gentlemen. The Empire's on the run. We're on the march. Loo-rah! Thank you, sir. Appreciate the input.
