years I have known about active homeschooling groups that do this in Missouri and in Utah. Let me tell you about the experience of a group of 14 to 18 year old Minnesota homeschool students. Each year they choose a public policy topic to research, discuss, and draft mock legislative resolutions. This year they selected the health care bill that was then making its way through Congress. As soon as the health care bill passed, the kids got excited about the content of the bill, the way it was passed, and the backroom deals. The student leader, 18-year-old Fletcher Warren, gave a radio interview saying, we decided that we should do what we could. We wrote out a three-page resolution detailing our concerns, such as the law's unconstitutionality and violation of the Commerce Clause. The resolution calls on Minnesota's governor, attorney general, and state legislature to seek an injunction that would relieve the state of having to comply with newly enacted national health care legislation. The 32 homeschoolers then gathered at the St. Paul Minnesota State House to hand deliver their letters and copies of the signed resolution to Minnesota legislators. The students were able to meet with four representatives and two senators, all of whom were cordial to their young constituents. Fletcher Warren, who served as chairman of the Home Schoolers' Health Care Committee, was pleased with the way legislators received the students and their message. He described the experience as overwhelmingly positive. The students then expanded their efforts beyond the state legislature and spoke to several of their congressmen. The student's lobbying trip turned out to be a very good lesson in how our government operates and how citizens can participate. We in television for it, Mark and Don every morning at 6am Pacific Time, Monday till Friday. I want the people to know that they still have two out of three branches of the government working for them and that ain't bad. Not yet begun, he's in fire on my side. A figure walked in through the mist with a flintlock in his hand. His clothes were torn and dirty as he stood there by my bed. He took off his three cornered hat and speaking low to me, he said, we've fought a revolution. secure our liberty. We wrote the Constitution as a shield from Tyranny. For future generations, this legacy we gave. In this, the land of the brave. The freedoms we secured for you, we hoped you'd always keep. But Tyrants labored endlessly while your parents were asleep. Your freedom's gone, your courage lost. You're no more than a slave. In this, the land of the free and home of the brave. You've I permits to travel and permits to own a gun. permits to start a business or to build a place for one. On land that you believe you own, you pay a yearly rent. Although you have no voice in saying how the money's spent, your children must attend a school that doesn't educate, and your Christian values can't according to this. You read about the current news in a regulated press, and you pay a tax you do not owe to please the IRS. Your money is no longer made of silver nor of gold. You trade your wealth for paper, so your life can be controlled. You pay for crimes that make our nation turn from God and shame. You've taken Satan, you've traded in your... You've given government control to those who do you harm, so they could burn down churches and seize the family farm. And keep our country deep in debt. Put men of God in jail. Harash your fellow countrymen while corrupted courts prevail. Your public servants don't uphold the solemn oaths they've sworn. And your daughters visit till their children are named. Your leaders send artillery and guns to foreign shores. And send your sons to slaughter fighting other people's wars. Can you regain the freedoms for which we fought and died? Or don't you have the courage or the faith to stand with pride? And are there no more values for which you'll fight to save? Or do you wish your children to live in fear, be a slave? Oh, sons of the Republic, arise. Take a stand. Defend the Constitution, the Supreme Law of the land. Preserve our great Republic and each God-given right. And pray to God, keep the torch of freedom. As I awoke, he vanished in the mist for once he came. His words were true. We are free, but we have ourselves to blame. For even now, as tyrants trampled, each God-given right. We only watch and tremble, too afraid to stand and fight. If he stood by your bedside to dream while you were asleep and wondered what remains of the freedoms he'd fought to keep, what would be your answer if he called out from the grave, Dil the Land. To me, kind of between my place and Nasser's? Yeah, not saying I've been talking about it. It would be one thing if, you know, we were saying them what they were worth. You know, I could understand the other side's argument, oh, well, they're just coming here to, you know, work in America. Yeah, okay, it's someone who would pay a citizen. Technically, they're willing slaves, you know? Well them it's a great deal since they make uh, in fact I've traveled all over Central and South America. I've driven Mexico top to bottom, bottom to top. Oh, it sounds like we're at the top of the hour, guys. Thank you for calling in. That was a bit of a help to put me on to a subject that I actually knew a little bit about, which is the microphone number. And I should have thought about that sooner if you go that way, but hey.
