Summary
Mark Koernke and co-hosts discussed preparedness training opportunities, including an January meetup in Oklahoma and a December 20th field training exercise in East Texas led by Mike Lewis. The show covered NBC (nuclear, biological, chemical) protective mask maintenance and inspection procedures in detail, with 14 specific steps for checking mask components. Koernke also addressed media coverage blaming American gun owners for Mexican drug cartel violence, arguing that the weapons used by cartels come primarily from military sources and that the real issue is an unsecured border.

Endlessly while your parents were asleep Your freedom's gone, your courage lost, you're no more than a slave In this, the land of the free and home of the brave You buy permits to travel and permits to own a gun Permits to start a business or to build a place for one On land that you believe you own, you pay a yearly rent Although you have no voice in saying how the money's spent Your children must attend a school that doesn't educate and your Christian values can't be taught according to the state. You read about the current news in a regulated press and you pay a tax you do not owe to please the IRS. Your money is no longer made of silver nor of gold. You trade your wealth for paper so your life can be controlled. You pay for crimes that make our nation turn from God and shame. You've taken Satan's number. You've traded in your name. You've given government control to those who do you harm so they could burn down churches and seize the family farm. And keep our country deep in debt. Put men of God in jail. Harash your fellow countrymen while corrupted courts prevail. Your public servants don't uphold the solemn oaths they've sworn. And your daughters visit doctors so their children won't be born. Your leaders send artillery and guns to foreign shores and send your sons to slaughter fighting other people's wars. Can you regain the freedoms for which we fought and died? Or don't you have the courage or the faith to stand with pride? And are there no more values for which you will fight to save? Or do you wish your children to live in fear and be a slave? Oh, sons of the Republic, arise, take a stand, defend the Constitution, the Supreme Law of the land, preserve our great Republic and each God given right, and pray to God to keep the torch of freedom burning bright. As Iowoki vanished in the mist for whence he came, his words were true, we are not free, but we have ourselves to blame. For even now as tyrants trample each God given right we only watching tremble too afraid to stand and fight If he stood by your bedside to dream while you were asleep and wondered what remains of the freedoms He'd fought to keep what would be your answer if he called out from the grave? Is this still the land of the free? Well good afternoon ladies and gentlemen. This is the second hour of the afternoon intelligence report. I'm Mark Kornke and I'm Michael Nasser And I think we have somebody else here too. Oh yeah, hey, that's me, Courtney. One day closer to victory for all of our brothers and sisters, both on and behind the lines in occupied territories, west, southwest, central, and northwest. Well, ladies and gentlemen, you are listening to us on LibertyTreeRadio.4mg.com, pbn.4mg.com, and we're on live 365. You can go to Liberty Tree Radio once you get there. You can become a preferred listener, get a little better signal, but your equipment at home has got to be compatible in order for everything to work just right. But it usually will, so we're going to give you a little warning there. We also have mirror sites through our chat room. You can go into LibertyTreeRadio.4mg.com, then go to the chatroom and ask everybody about reflector dash mere sites and you can connect that way world-swan amn FM micro stations CB Bay stations and alternate technologies both east and west of the Mississippi along with southern and central Alaska and with the hallmark net six states in the upper colonial region and uh... they are doing a great job of expanding it ever know we might add another little corner of another state to this weekend will find out from the guys and gals then Well, Mike, today's date is? 5 December 2008 Friday. Ammo de Mayo. It is a weekend to buy the ammo? Is that what you're saying? We should all be going to do the big gun shows and we'll find the pistols and we'll find the rifles. Mas grande. Oh, muy bueno. We have the grande Papa guno. Well, I'll tell you what it is gonna be a big show and we got quite a lot first of all Let's let me explain everybody we have fun with radio, but people don't realize just how big we can be Mike where you sitting right now? Arizona, no way you sound like you're right here in the studio with me and I'm in Michigan Courtney. Where are you? North Carolina why what we just demonstrated is that the Patriot movement stretches virtually across the whole width of the United States Yes, we are everywhere. South Louisiana. Oh, and there's the other point of the compass, and I know we've got people listening from up north. So think about that, guys. We are literally, and this is what's really cool about radio. We can be in three different parts of the country, and we can be thinking the same thoughts, same time, and on the same page. So I'll tell you what, Mike, what do we got to cover tonight? Well, we were going to kick off maybe abdominal injuries. We are also going to go to the NBC and let me see what is here. We have maintenance and inspection of your protective mask. Excellent. And we have Cordy here to visit for... Alfie is busy but he wanted me to call in and give everybody a little update on the alt-meet in January. Alfie is going to be on the Rule of Law radio dot com tonight. It's one word, Rule of Law radio dot com and that's Rule of Law radio dot com. He will be on from 6 to 7 tonight Central Time and he is going to be discussing the January meetup. Is there any updates or anything? He is going to be putting that info out there for everybody to hear too. Excellent. If they want to find out more, they can go to the websites and go ahead and give everybody all the contact information for that. Right. You can check out my website. It is cordyckcountry.onyour6.com. cordykecountry.onyoursix.com, cordykecountry.onyoursix.com, and if you scroll down just a little bit on the home page, there's a banner there, and it's got Alfie's Meetup and everything. Just click on the banner, and it'll take you to the information page. Or you can click on the forum link at the top of the page, and that will take you to a forum called Training and Meetups. And it's got information in there about the January meetup and also about Mike Lewis' training exercise in Texas. Excellent. So again, for people who are looking at trying to link up and to participate, this is an opportunity and again, I can't stress enough, if you're in the five state area surrounding Oklahoma, at least, guys, come on. You're only so many hours driving time away, Durant's an excellent location for centralization, for training, everybody can reach it at the same time within reason. It's a you're gonna have some fantastic instructors there in fact you're listening to one on the air tonight here plus We have other individuals who will be participating who can give you updates and what's happening in their neck of the woods They're gonna be there for the training operation taking place through the whole week just about so this is a critical opportunity to train the trainers that is a theme that we have been running for a long time on the air especially because we've got to at least get the people there who can come back with the information and pass it on to the respective team members and the units that they're part of. Those people then train, expand and train others. It's force multiplication in its classic format. But you got to get to the training site in order for that to happen. Now, real quick, Mike, there is a criteria here though with regard to what they need to bring and it's not that it's a big long list but it is a critical list and not the least of which is first of all this is going to be cold weather operations now we're looking at the winter aren't we? Yes, it can get kind of chilly and oaky in January. The best way to do this if you want a comprehensive list is to go to Cordy's website but just to run down some of the things you're going to need a baseball hat Most likely a booney hat. The baseball hat is going to be used at the range. No one will be allowed on the range without a baseball or a booney hat. You're going to need eye protection. You're going to need hearing protection. I'd also recommend, because the weather is so unpredictable in Oklahoma, that you might want to bring some over boots or some irrigation type boots. to go there. I'm going to need your rain gear. I'd suggest that you either bring up a flash drive and some blank CDs, DVDs. You'll need a repelling rope that's a half an inch nylon twisted rope about 16 feet long. I don't have the whole list in front of me Mark, but that's It's kind of some of the things you're going to need. The main thing that what we're trying to achieve here is the link up of like-minded people. And everything else is an icing on the cake. We want you to bring a positive outlook, a need to understand, a need to need a notebook. Most of these things are going to be provided like we did in Flagstaff. We're going to have binders made up for people and the notebooks, but if you want to also bring a pad of paper of your own, that would be fine. I'd also recommend you have two 3x5 spiral binders kind of go into your pockets. One is marked NBC, one is marked medical. And, gee, Cordy, what else do we need to have? Well, I recommend, and I've been saying this for a couple weeks now, but I recommend that everybody get out there and when you're getting your stuff together, again, always be prepared for the weather to change rapidly in the blink of an eye. They push that global warming button, global holding button, global warming button, so you never know who's going to be manning the control panel there and what kind of weather you're going to have. Oh, first I'm freezing, then I'm cold. Oh, and now. I know. It's crazy. Everybody, if you can find it, get yourself some wool mittens, some wool socks, and a wool hat. Wool can be itchy, but wool can also save your life. When you're sweating, it's going to keep you from dropping down your body, your body temp, and help you to avoid hypothermia or frostbite. I think everybody should bring their camcorder, their video recorder, if they have one. Because a lot of times a lot of people learn a lot better from watching the training actually take place. Absolutely. And repetition, especially where the instructor can repeat with the rewind button or with the replay button is critical. It saves the instructor a lot of air and a lot of time. And I think you and Alfie, my suggestion is you all get together and talk about getting this all filmed and putting it up on YouTube or another source like that so people that can't make it can still get the great training they are offering Absolutely, you know we had tried that and most of the sessions were filmed and quite a few of the people had digital recorders but because a lot of it was done outside the picture came out real fine but the background noise, the wind on the microphone and everything you couldn't actually hear what was being said so we had made an attempt to do that back in Oklahoma in April on the first one and I'm sure we're working on it to get it a little bit tightened up this time to make sure that we can do those things. Well I know a lot of the guys that are regular that come into the chat room are really good with audio and visual and maybe they can pitch in and help to clean it up a little bit for y'all to get it out there. You know many hands make light work like Michael always says. Exactly. We need to, in fact, I might remind everybody right now if you've got camera equipment, if you have the older VHS or if you have any one of the other like eight millimeters or whatever, a lot of times when you got the kit they actually do have a mic extension system. Used to be with the camcorders, they came in the kit. If you've got an old piece of equipment sitting there, even if it is a VHS machine, break it out, check it, see if the batteries will charge up, and square it away and clean it up and look to see if you have this called an umbilicus. It actually usually had about a 20 to 25 foot extension. It plugged right into the side of the camera, goes out and sits in front to where you have the instructor or whatever it is that's a participant. Now if you're really lucky, you might have somebody who could put one together real quick for you, which is not a problem. So anybody who can do this, any one camera that can do this, would make a big difference. Now that doesn't mean you shut off the other cameras, by the way, because Think about it, you can almost have a Hollywood production if you have three or four or five cameras running in different angles. What you do is when you want to queue it up, you keep your soundtrack in place, but you can actually switch to different angles provided from the other people running the cameras. If other people are doing this, rather than one person having to do a million things at once, then the Chief Cook and Bottle Washer can get a lot more done. So just remember, it doesn't mean don't bring the other equipment because mine sounds just like the one that Mike was talking about. Bring it along anyway, get it to work, and between the consortium of people participating, you have everything that you need to actually get the job done and come up with a pretty decent end product. Which is really what we want is we can be we can be very dynamic with this This is something we're trying to get everybody have a lot more fun with too Because we are people most of the population is video oriented the enemy is terrified of this information getting out number one and They're terrified of the idea that we will use the very tools that they've used to help destroy the country But we use them to rebuild So right that's what I think every time I have to buy anything from Walmart Whenever I have to go to Waller World, every time I buy a couple 25-pound bags of sugar every other week, I just laugh and say thanks. Another thing is wool. A lot of people have asked me if they're having problems finding literally wool-made items. Well buy the yarn. You can still get the yarn pretty cheap at a lot of craft stores and at Walmart. It's 100% wool yarn and make your own. I make Rev. I don't know how many pair of sniper gloves I've made him in the last couple years out of wool, but it's not that difficult to learn how to knit or crochet and make them the way you want them. 5 million sheep in Michigan can't be wrong. Exactly. They're out right now. They're outside in the weather we're talking about, the cold, wet weather going, who cares, just show up with a coin. Okay, so we know it works. And remember wool dries, what's most critical is survival to a wool dries from the inside out. That's the most important thing, or warms from the inside out. It doesn't dry right away. Your body heat, the calories that are there, helps to expel the moisture, first charge it and repel it, but it stores the calories efficiently, doesn't let them dissipate, even wet. And that's critical because water has a tendency to work as the best radiating fluid on the planet. energy transmitter. So if wool is actually working that well, despite the fact that it's old, and I always love it when these goofs do the, oh that's obsolete. I'll take all of that old obsolete stuff you can get your hands on, especially the wool overcoats. By the way, the old freeze liners, as they were called, guys, the old US field jacket freeze liners were not cotton. They were a wool blend. They look like they're white terry cloth. They have a satin back on them. Those were actually wool and they actually what we they'll button right into a standard M65 field jacket or or your M 1950 or 51 fishtail parkas and they made one for those too, by the way, they made a Terry one of the freeze type is what they call it freeze type liners for that a little trick real quick if you're using this gear if you have the freeze liners which are wool you want to make sure that the satin is towards you and You don't put the terrycloth, the towel material towards you. You turn them inside out so that the wool creates an air pocket between the outer shell and the satin which is towards you. That way you have the moisture wicks through the satin and still of course it will build up but it will not cause any major heat loss. It was a cool system. It was just a little heavier. Most people don't like the older field jack-o-lanterns because they were heavier. Well, that's because they're wool. And wool is a good thing. We went to, we do a lot of working at Goodwill. I just prefer it that way. I was able to pick up, I think it was close to 22 wool sweaters for a dollar apiece. Oh, yes. and bring them home and there are some of them that have holes in stuff in them so I just unraveled them from the sweater and rolled them into balls of yarn and used them to make mittens, gloves and hats out of them. So you know, get creative and we can beat this thing because really victory is our only option. You know, there isn't any other. We first have to survive and then defeat them but the basic rule in defense is that initially we the survivor need only that I'm sorry forgive me the defender need only survive the attacker must vanquish We are we're defending our piece of real estate for that reason all the tools of the trade are at our disposal everything we can get our hands on will become a weapon and Every element of the existing system becomes part of our supply system when the time comes including the stuff that's thrown away We do that constantly I will let you guys go so you all can get back on schedule with what Mike needs to talk about today. Thanks for letting me have a few minutes and you all take care and God bless. Thank you, Cordy. By the way, you'll be up tonight, correct? Yes, I will be up live tonight talking some more about where to find water in survival situations. Excellent. Thank you. Bye-bye now. Mike, I'll tell you what. Down here, stretch of the woods there right now, or I should say neck of the desert. Does that ever sound right? Wait a minute, you have a neck in the woods, but I don't think you have a neck in the desert. But anyway, down there where you guys are, I was looking at a piece from, was it WGUN? Are you familiar with WGUN? I've heard of a K-Gun, that's a TV station. K-Gun, I'm sorry, correction, correction, you are right. KGUN? Yes. Oh, okay, that's a television station, Channel 9, I think. Yeah, the Tucson. Yeah, interesting enough. I was watching a piece where they were lamenting about and blaming all of us American firearms owners for the Mexicans and all the terrible things that they're doing on this side of the border and the other side of the border because well we have guns and and for that reason well the Mexicans are killing people with machine guns and grenades. Oh, boy. Oh, yeah. Well, I watched this, and I brought this up this morning very quickly in the wee hours of the morning, so I mean during the first hour of the day. And one of the things that they were mentioning, they turned red around and they said, well, it's because you can buy guns at the gun shows. Now, this is an anti-gun drum beat piece, okay? But they were talking about all the stuff happening down like in Juarez and over on the, you know, on the Mexican side of Nogales, okay? What was interesting about it is they talk about how they can buy pistols or rifles over the counter and then they immediately switch to the other side of the border. An example of what can happen is there was a machine gun attack with machine guns and grenades with laser sighted machine guns. And I'm thinking, okay, that's apples and oranges, because a, last time I was in Arizona, I didn't see any stacks of grenades at the gun show. Did something change down there that I missed? No. There are no grenades available anywhere in Arizona that I'm aware of. So number one, and then number two, of course, was the machine gun part, which again, class three weapons only... Now, this is a fact from the Batfaggot information service guys that you can find and they don't like to talk about. The NFA weapons, weapons that are registered as Class 2 or Class 3 weapons, okay, that are heavily restricted, you got a fingerprint, buck print, DNA, all special background checks, only one NFA weapon since 1933. Think about what kind of a record this is. Only one NFA weapon in the whole history of NFA weapons has ever been used in a crime. And that NFA weapon was used by a cop. in the whole history of all the machine guns registered in the United States all the machine guns you couldn't tell that by watching any Hollywood BS could you but here's the thing what got me about this is they said now the big emphasis was Mike that they had lasers on the guns lasers in the machine guns and they were laser-guided and it was because of those blasted Americans and I'm thinking well wait a minute back up here where the preponderance of all of these new lasers coming from guys Where do they all where they all here's the hint where they all being made? They being made in the US They come from a certain country overseas starts with the sea ain't talking Cuba. I'm not talking. Let's see, Colombia Oh China So let's see guys. How hard is it? Yeah, how hard does it get lasers? Let's let's think this through Have you been to your truck stop lately Mike? Well, not in the last week or two. But you've been here recently, okay? So when you go to the truck stop, don't they have all kinds of goodies and trinkets and toys? You can get brand new Chikon-made folding knives in any size, any color, any metal, okay? You know, you can get, they've got racks now with about 50 different types of aluminum flashlights, right? And then off to the side in these little racks, almost like you were buying ChapStick. They have these little racks with red or green lasers you can buy right over the counter right at the truck stop for $4.75 a piece. Know what I mean? Now, would that be in the case? My question would be if you needed the lasers first of all don't have to come from us and they weren't sold by us anyway But so when I went down the list, it's like wait a minute. Okay, the lasers and most likely not but if you blame anybody you'd be the truck stops and the Chinese that made them Oh duh go talk to the Chinese They didn't buy the machine guns from here and they didn't buy the grenades from here to either Okay, they got them from the Mexican military and the Mexican police who sell them in the back alley for whatever they need for their latest crack fix Okay There's a little history there by the way. Down there south of where you are, back years ago the Mexican government bought for the national police force a whole bunch of 1911s. They were Star 45s. Beautiful pistols by the way, actually pretty well made. Do you know that almost 100% of them were found in private hands within less than three months because the police sold them to the private sector? There's an example of where the weapons are coming from but the first thing that this piece did, Mike, is it was the Arizona gun owners and the American firearms owners are all responsible for all the woes and problems down in Mexico right now. Now I will say that. I do believe that that's true to a degree and everybody goes, huh? Why would Mark say that? Well, I would say it for this reason because we're not properly securing the border, are we, Mike? Nope. If we were flowing both in both directions. So if we latch down on that border, Mike, would there be guns going south as easily? If there were any of this. And there aren't that many, by the way, anyway. By comparison, I saw the pictures. Google the latest gun bust that they took down in Juarez that came from one of the drug cartels. They did such a... The bad part for what they did is they did such a good job of laying out all the weapons that you can clearly see what they confiscated. and 99% of what they had laying there, you don't buy from any gun shop, you don't buy from any gun store in America because they were all combat military arms from Europe. They had the those little FN bullpups that they used in Stargate. You don't buy those up here kids, you buy those from a military from their military resources overseas. But we don't have any buckets or crates of what look like a full crate of the things laid out very nicely. You can see exactly which weapon is which. And not one of the primary weapons there was readily available over the counter here in the US, but it was on the render revolution market, or it could be bought by the Mexican military. And that's what I wanted to point out, the reason I brought this up. Now here's the thing, whatever does go across, hey, you know what, let's agree with KGUN, let's close down the border, let's make sure nobody comes north, and let's make sure nobody goes south. How's that sound? This number, we're not going to... Yeah, that sounds like a plan, doesn't it? Well, you know, it's odd though that they'll sit here and there was an article in the Arizona Republic a week or two, maybe a month ago, running along the same thing. But earlier this week, weren't we talking about something about the vast majority of the firearms that were coming from Houston? Yeah, except that about 23,000. So how can it be that they're coming from Arizona? Then how can they be coming from Houston? Make up your mind. Well, here's the thing. Now here's what got me about that. There were 23,000 weapons confiscated. And the Batfaggots played some, you know, they played, it was verbal, verbal juggling here. They said the majority came from Houston, Texas. Except the problem is that the number they gave was about 327 or 329 firearms. Woohoo! You're talking maybe one firearm a day at the most from Houston for the whole of a year. And you know it took longer than that for those weapons to gravitate south. So you're looking at a situation where the most you can see from the largest single block of the single city or the state was Houston, Texas 300 firearms the rest were all weapons that came from outside of Mexico outside of the US and as I've said before if you can bring in 10,000 kilos of cocaine and each one of those kilos of cocaine is the size of a box of tissue paper a regular, you know Kleenex box Then you tell me how many firearms you can fit into that volume of space. Because if you can't stop them from getting the drugs, you're not going to stop them from getting real combat weapons, which is what's happening. So it's all BS to begin with. And this is classic. No matter what the problem is, it's the American people. We need to hurt them. No matter what the problem is, it's go after our rights and our liberties because, well, whatever. Doesn't mean it's what it is. They completely arrow it right around. They U-turn it right back to pointing at the American people. Yeah, we have, I'll tell you, we have callers, but we also have a bottom-of-the-hour break. So I'll tell you what we're gonna do, guys. We're gonna go to break here in a second. We'll be back and we'll take our callers, Mike, and we gotta get on subject two. But I want to bring it up, because that's right down in your backyard. And again, they're trying to blame the Americans for what the dope dealer's doing, and you ain't gonna stop them. They're dealing drugs, people. You think they're even worried about the firearms charges? Think about it. Collectors, outdoor enthusiasts, survivalists. The Army Navy Store from your memory as a child is just that, a memory. Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen, you're listening to the second hour of the Intelligence Report, 5 December 2008. It's a Friday, you've got Mike, you've got Mark, and we've got a caller. We've got Mike Lewis in Texas. Come on up Mark. Yes sir, this is Mike Lewis in Texas. I want to tell you that I'll be seeing you at ALPHE's filtering exercise generation. I'll be glad to meet you sir. And we're going to have a field training exercise in Texas. two weeks from tomorrow. That's going to be Saturday, December 20th. It's in East Texas. That's in Teague. And Teague is along I-45, about 150 miles north of Houston and about 95 miles south of Dallas. And it's about 45 miles west of Palestine. And we'll have live fire. and bring your full combat load and those who want to are going to be camping out there Saturday night and somebody has to go, they can leave Saturday evening. They don't have to stay for the whole thing if they don't want to. And we're going to have training activities including marksmanship, scouting, patrolling and maneuvering. And we all need to learn how to be force model pliers. There's plenty of guns. Our site has plenty of guns. I've been buying guns for the last 20 years and show up to most of the other people. And as soon as the government starts committing atrocities like they did in the past, our numbers will jump up overnight. I remember they murdered over 80 people at Waco. They shot Vicki Weaver while she was holding her baby. And they shot Sam Weaver in the back. And they haven't changed any of their wars. And to find out about our training exercise, if you send me an email, I will send you directions to it and an invitation. To contact me, go to TexasMilitia.info. That's all one word, no W's in front of that at all. Just Texas, T-E-X-A-S, militia, M-I-L-I-T-I-A, all one word, dot info, I-N-F-O. Look at our webpage and find my email address and I will send you an invitation. Very good. Now again, go ahead and give all that information out one more time. Okay, our field training exercise is two weeks from tomorrow on Saturday, December 20th. It will be at 8am on private land in the Texas area. To get invited, go to our webpage and send me an email. The webpage is TexasMilitia, all one word, T-E-X-A-S-M-I-L-I-T-I-A dot info. No debbies in front of that at all. Just TexasMilitia, all one word info. And you send me an email, I'll send you an invitation in directions. Very good. Thanks Mark. I'll tell you what Mike, real quick, if you can, I'm going to ask you, I'll do it on the air here, but if you can, take as many men with you up there for this Meet with Alfie and Mike because we need to get more trainers on site. You need to motivate if you're in touch with anybody else in other parts of the state of Texas there too. Drag them up there. It's straight up the highway. There's no excuse not to make that. Yes sir, I sent a notice to everyone on my Yahoo group list and my email list and I have a link to it on my webpage. Very good. And again, link up guys and then drive together. Save gas. Make sure you got cold weather gear and make sure you got your gas mask with you. You got to make sure that you're outfitted as you will operate in the field. Thank you Mike. Thank you Mark. Goodbye. And so Mike, it is Friday, guys. You go and get your pen and paper. You should already have them out because you're writing down what we've been giving out on the air. Courtney and Mike have been giving out critical data. And Mike Nasser, because we got so many mics out of it, it's kind of fun. It's kind of like just real subnote on that, years ago, second grade. When they first came out with computers, Mike, they decided, it might have been a joke with a teacher, the poor woman had a terrible time, they decided to alphabetically inventory us by computer back in the early 60s, right? And for whatever reason, every mark and every Mary in school ended up in my second grade classroom in the same room at the same time. When you said mark half of the classroom responded when you said Mary the other half of the classroom responded Well, this only lasted two weeks and she finally got so frustrated what she did is she numbered us It was kind of like a science fiction movie. I was like mark number 12, you know, I'm a mark 12 robot, you know, you know feed me That kind of thing. But after two weeks he finally said, nope, I've had enough of this. You've got to get me some students. So they shuffled them up because apparently in all the other classrooms they'd done the same thing. All the other classrooms had all of the Jeffs and all of the Bobs and all the Bills. So somebody remembered that they should have hit last name first, remember? That way you do the alphabetical thing and you get kind of routed them that way and mixed them up. Anyway, Mike, we got things to cover and first I think we're going to probably go with NBC Defense guys. Pay attention here because NBC maintenance and NBC support is critical. You're going to be covering it on these training exercises. Every one of you are going to become instructors too when the time comes. All right, very good. Now, in the last week or so, now we've covered quite a few things. We kicked off with fitting the protective mask. Donning the protective mask, sounding the alarm, the maintenance and cleaning the protective mask. And today we're going to talk about maintaining and inspecting your protective mask. Okay, we've got about 14 steps that we're going to carry out here. The first thing is, is you're going to make sure that the carrier is clean and all your contents are complete, whether you've got a dash 10 in there, an extra set of outserts. you know, an extra set of filters, anything like that, your MA paper or whatever that you, on your list to have all the contents in there. The next thing is, is the face blank. Now that is the main part of the mask itself, the outserts and the inlet valves and the nose cup and everything. That is, that is the entire big, you want to make sure it doesn't have a perm open enough where it's open like a dulcet in there. There's no spin to seal around the end of the mask where the head harness fits on. You want to make sure that that's nice and flexible and it makes a good seal around the side of your face. Separation of the eye lenses from the face blank. Any dry rot in the head harness tabs. Areas that prompt to see if there's any loss, ethnicity of it. Number four, the head harness. Look, you want if there's anything, any of the little metal tips that the end of the thing or anything, you can replace the head harness. Voice mitter out with assembly. And again, we're talking generally with the M17, but also when that it did hard clatter, usually from the side, I find that it's easier, the left side or the right side. You just kind of push up gently in the center and it'll just pop right off. And then you can go ahead and inspect in there. You can look at the voice mitter, the valve in there, the assembly. You want to make sure that the color is not missing. That disc there is a little bit different than your inlet valve. It's a little over an inch in diameter, and generally it's black. Again, now it's not going to be discolored. You should be able to spin it freely, and if you push up gently on one side, it'll flex. And when you let it go, then it makes sure that you remove any dirt or foreign matter, preventing the outlet valve. The next one we're going to look at number six is the inlet valves. You want to make sure that they aren't missing any of the discs. Again, by rotating them around or pushing up from the corner to make sure that they flex properly. And then when you release them back out, make sure that they're not curved. They're not disc dirty. And again, this is on the M17. You're not going to see it on the 10. If you have an M17, put the word top. The next one is we're going to inspect the filter elements. Make sure that they're not dirty, they're not expired. There's been an improper operation. They have any unbuttoned flaps. They have excessive reason. On the deal here is that I've noticed that on some of the masks is oftentimes that the side on the M10 and the M17, there's around where your cheeks are on the left and right, the access to get into where the three of them on the 17 and two of them on the 10. make sure that those are snapped down down the outer one more towards your ears, the shaft on your nose, the shaft on each end of the buttons is longer and that is because not only does it button, but it also if you'll look at where your nose cup mask on. So make sure that your mask is button. Number eight, you want to make sure that the long flaps are missing but dirty seating. You might want to have eye lenses to look to them. Then you can look in through the back of the mask that top of the nose cup down to inspect iron out They're not again number eight the nose cup if you want to make sure that they're not They're not tied going to be buttoned on you need to put for closed and I've seen them the other way sometimes and make sure that the The towel down at the bottom times it can get tongue in goes in we want to make sure that that is outside of that the chin cup is in the part where the nose cup is sure that that doesn't get touched. I'm sure that that is the nose cup needs to be just something that they're overlooked when it turns out. Reassemble it. I noticed that on the 10s and the 17s that they'll get touched side of there. So we've got to make sure that that's pulled out there. You want to make sure that there's no missing valve discs. They're not stuck. Eye lenses. You want to make sure that there's no crack in any of your vision. The eye rings, the mask, it's the erosion. Eye lens outs. you're going to inspect. You want to make sure that there's no tears or rims to the mask itself. You want to make sure that there's no tear on the mask itself. You want to make sure that there's no soft or sticky things like that. And then make sure that there's no cracked wood. Number 13, then one pin damage on the 17. We're tying, there's a real thin, kind of a shoelace type of deal where you tie that. After you've tied that on there snugly, you need to kind of pull the the hood out slings inside the hood between the mask and the hood itself. You want to make sure that the cord there and the zipper is intact and everything. Sometimes the tab on the zipper comes off, just something that you can grip onto. Understand that you might have gloves on or something like that. It's real hard to get a hold of the zipper. The zipper is just without a law to pull onto that. is the carrier. You want them cleaner than mildew. You want to make sure that there's no torn. There's any of the missing hardware. The one that goes around the waist or a wider strap. Make sure that the one strap that either goes, depending on the way the configuration of where you're carrying it, that it either goes around your leg or it goes around your waist. Again, make sure that not the D-ring itself, but the actual, that little spring-loaded snap. Make sure that that closes. and then put them in the little, and then your mask is, and again, as Mark has mentioned before, if you have quite a few words for a while to, oh, you know, you see these little little rim around it and a little tiny spring, or string that you can put on there and then you can write either a number on there or you can write of the mask on there and then you can go ahead and hook that onto the outside so you don't have to open up each carrier. see what size it is, you can tell from the outside of exactly what. And one other thing too, as I know we've mentioned before, but again and again, it's, I want to, monoxide. The other thing that we were discussing earlier about the ConComplete, to have a plastic for the mask, protect it from the water in case you have to cross a lake or a stream or something like that. Make sure that that's in there, but you'll never store the mask for a improvised Ziploc. The mildew is going to grow in there. and then your mask is going to become ineffective. The only time you're going to get that out, if you're going to cross a water hazard, you take it out, you put it back, you cross it, and you take it back out of the bag, and then you put it back into the mask, and cure your things. The next thing is the implementation of the mask. Obviously, if you're out in the field and there's an attack, whether somebody steps on a chemical mine, or there's a helicopter that sprays or a jet or a bomblet or any of the number of different types of attacks, obviously then you are going to, now there's a pause here, I'm hoping everybody across the United States says you stop breathing and put your mask and spread the alarm. Okay, and then what's the next step? you seek cover. Okay, now that we've established that and then we move on from there. Now the other application of a mask or your NBC suit is if you are anticipating attack, your intelligence tells you that the enemy is massing and they plan on utilizing NBC agents. Obviously, you're most likely going to go into a modified mop level. Put your top and bottom on and have your gloves and your boots handy and your protective mask in the carrier on your side. Or if you're going, there has been a chemical attack and you are going out with a survey team to find out. So then you're going to be in MOP level 4 and then you're going out to look for traces of chemical contamination so the area can be marked. There are different applications of your different MOP level. Another thing too is I want to point out that if you're in a work detail, one thing is the first thing you put on is your protective mask. Then you put on your LBE. Then you put on your Alice Pack and your helmet and the rest of your gear and everything. If you're in a work detail, say you're putting up some concertina wire or digging a bunker or everything, now you can put one person over here to guard your equipment while everybody's going to stack arms or set your LBE down or your Alice packs or everything. But the one thing that you never, never, never take off is your protective mask. Your protective mask is not hooked on to your backpack. It is not hooked on to your LBE, it is not modified in any way other than a way to carry it on your waist or over your shoulder. Absolutely do not ever put it on your LBE. It is not made to put on your LBE. Don't even think about putting it on your LBE. After you've got your uniform on, the mask goes on and then your LBE goes on. And if you're on a work detail, yes, you can take off your things so you can swing your picks or your shovels or stretch out your wire. But never, never, never hook your protective carrier to your LBE. Because what's going to happen is you get into a work detail, you're going to take your mask off or your LBE and it's hooked on to there. You set it down and now pretty soon you're 20 or 30 yards away from where your stack equipment at, then the attack is going to come. Do not ever do your LBE or your Alice Pack or any other figuration. And that's all I have to say. Mark? As a matter of fact, Mike, most important is, again, no matter where you're going, we have this policy with a gas mask and also with personal defense weapons the same way. But if you aren't breathing, you're not contributing to the fight. And even if all you were doing was standing there bare-but-naked, the mask goes on first and then you deal with your problems after that. cover when you were talking about earlier I know we've got to go but cover also guys the Russians and the Americans both have what they called gas capes that you used to throw on first over top you get your gas mask on you cover yourself and then you run you get to a position where you have better protection you switch over to your chem suit as you can or you take cover under a better shelter we're at the top of the hour Mike can you be back with us at 8? I'll see you about that I'll make an effort okay we have one hour to go and Mike may be back with us God bless the Republic Death to the New World Order. We shall prevail, ladies and gentlemen.
