Mark Koernke and Don discussed firearm preparedness, rifle selection, and marksmanship training on November 14, 2008. The show covered practical advice on purchasing semi-automatic rifles (SEGA, Dragunov, HK-91, M1A, FAL) in anticipation of supply shortages, magazine availability and sourcing strategies, and the critical importance of firearms training and familiarity. Don emphasized that competent marksmen must understand point of impact at various ranges, practice regularly, and maintain their weapons. The hosts warned listeners that supplies would become scarce and encouraged immediate acquisition of ammunition, magazines, and spare parts while available. They also discussed the incoming Obama administration and anticipated restrictions on firearms and ammunition.

Dill the Land at the Fork. Don Tilly's day is 2008 tomorrow is the opening of fire in Michigan Oh, baby, ah poor that gun. I know that there's help from little Bambi Ryan You know what you guys we've I try to do this every year as these Statistics come across my desk become aware of them one in five school children This is even after all its his name there that can see there in the early 60s or had his goons Oh, yeah, Johnson. This is even after his what was that he built for us? that great society hungry in the morning I think that they are the great sale of Lyndon Baines Johnson remember we won't send our American boys over there a fight in Vietnam but we did interestingly enough or recently here is the biggest problem we have the reason that one of the five is going hungry is because somebody stole some bully stole the kids lunch money yeah this is true too or the check that was supposed to get to them for it to Illinois crooks, you know, probably somebody in Chicago cashed it three times. But this isn't really where I want it to go. But we'll get to this. Guys, again, the front of there are plenty of you out there that have got blocks are going to take two or a year and maybe more if you have in the permits. Organization, it's in Michigan markets, hunters against hunger. And there's another one, farmers against hunger, the gleaners and there's others, you know, you know, is people out into the field and they clear the crop in the, in the, you know, it's a three season crop or per year or what. And the poor folks get to go in and kind of pick up the rest. Definition of glue. This is accepted just back into millennium. If you take a deer, I've got a guy comes up, sometimes he takes him, sometimes he brings me back, here's some of those, you know, if you're calling, you know, naming foreign things and eating in the real world here in America. But again, one in five on the table hunters that a little more than you need. And you know, I do this every year Mark at the front of deer season and I might do it a couple more times throughout the deer season because I'll be quiet though. Oh, we just keep talking, John. I'm still chewing on the deer here. But you guys get the idea though, yeah. The hunt, maybe, you know, there's the guy who goes in and gets that filet mignon and he believes the butcher makes it in the back of the suit. We've had this discussion many times on the air of the nation. Try to live soon. They'd be shooting little Tweety Birds. Yes, they did. Yes. Now, this leads me over to the younger right now. But you know you guys one of the main things we do on this hour here to hear the wheels on that big drum It just says right across that preparation and we beat that drum to the best of our ability But if you're sending your children to school and you've got a little bit in the pan I got referred because you know they they all they wanted to take us back to the times were good and The stock market was just bubbling and anybody that wanted to could work well that were because we were still running about five percent We're only running six or 7% now, but I'm getting a little bit off. But they keep wanting to take us back to when times were better. And let's go Mark, you know, I've been in eight years, that's just a year more than the seven good years of Scrippen mentioned and seven bad years that followed everything he did in his eight years to prepare for his Disney. And you know what, I think in this morning, Mark, as I put real world, I've been doing the hour here longer than you've been doing it almost twice as long. of time and there's a number of other references in there that you can measure with that. How about commitment to your nation, commitment to the difference and standing in the light, commitment to the difference between right and wrong. How about, you know, there's a four letter, I'm not sitting here patting myself on the shoulder because Mark, but the first thing I did was reference you more than twice the time I've been doing this. And again, you know, there are plenty of people out there in the world who don't have out there in America. the advantage of the platform that I do or Corn Key has built. They're working, oh what's that? If they could, if the little ray gun at you and give you lockjaw tetanus, are you gonna talk again? Well that would be the least of our worries as far as subject to should we continue to take advantage of a venue, you know, the soapbox, the radio or whatnot. But the little guy out in the world who nobody doesn't know his name, He's out there, he's talking about this, that, and the other thing that's wrong. He's pointing at the dragon to the best of his ability. What do you think would happen if... he started to grow and someone in his neighborhood, it might not even be a government person, it might just be someone who, you know, as we've talked about snitches and rats, it might just be someone who thinks, well, that guy shouldn't even be talking like that about, my government, there ain't nothing wrong with my government as he's drooling and you see the things growing. So this guy takes it upon himself to walk out there one night and catches our poor patriot friend where he's never heard from again. You guys out there in the field got a bigger bet. This is what I'm trying to tell you. And I know you know what I'm trying to say here, Mark. A bigger bet on the table than Mark does. You know what? If they decide that, well, much like, oh, make it look like an accident, it's probably been just the end of Clay Douglas, and it would have just looked like an accident out there in the rap happens every day. So you see what I mean about you guys have a bigger bet than I do or than Mark does? Because if they come here and drop a 500 pounder on the trailer, The world, you know, good portions of America is going to know that. The same is true if they decide to drive tanks through Mark's house. The world is going to know about that. But when the little guy out there in the field, people are trying to start to pay attention to him, and this is bigger than grassroots, and the 90% is starting to become aware of what's wrong instead of just something is wrong in the back of their mind. You see what I mean about the bet you have on the table? I'm comfortable with, you know, that I register every day. You need to register. it up even more than what I need every day, day to day. You out there, in the field that nobody knows your name but the people you're talking to. And many of them don't even know your name. This is why we do, you know, we talk about guns. Every day isn't weapons Wednesday, but we talk about guns most every day. And if you wish, by doing that, splay that force stand up to the dragon. You better be able to poke the dragon with more than a sharp stick. And I know we're running up to the floor, you guys. Take a break at the quarter hour. Oh, we got lots of time in the morning. Yes, we do. But you guys know where I'm trying to go with this. I'm standing here warning you that you are in it deeper than I am. You know what I mean? Because if, again, nobody's going to know this venue or the disappeared in Argentina. People sat back in fear of their government. Oh, Juan, we don't see him no more, but we know where he went. He went down there and they put an end to Juan because Juan was talking about what they were doing. But that was from a people who didn't have freedom built into them, that American, the sense of history and patriotism. And, you know, we've got a call and I'll finish this thought. One of those guys or Lennon, and you know, those weren't even there real, weren't that committed, said that they have people, their heritage, and you destroy their future. And I'm paraphrasing it. You see where I'm wanting to go with that. I'll finish. this whole thought line with that thought mark. We've got a caller. Good morning. They have the 22 inch or 21.8 inch SEGA barrels, which in the thumb hole stock, they have magazines available. Did they sell out? The SEGA in 22. Okay, now go to Google, distributors or SEGA, you know, retail. That's one of the options and see who pops up for selling SEGA stuff because there are mags out there. But if the mags have become really, really hard, the other project we have to produce to actually put together, and it's not really put together so much as it reconfigured, a number of mags to work with the Sega and with the Finnish RPKs that were done in 308. Now, I have not seen the guys, I may see them tomorrow, and I'll know for sure, but they're doing field tests with the mag. All we're doing is durability tests. We know if we did exactly what the long receiver, all they took was a Dragunov receiver, magazine obviously because the 308 cartridge is different from the 7.62x54. Now if the SAGAs are still available, remember you're buying a Dragunov rifle for about $200 to $500 less than any other Dragunov out there. People aren't thinking about that because you see the SAGAs and 308 are the long stroke receiver that's used for the Dragunov. So rather than spending the big bucks going in the other direction, the SAGA would still be a good option. The thing is to try and scrounge up mags now real quick so it would be modified. The G3 of all magazines, the one that's most common right now and cheapest. Amazingly enough. What's the timeline on production? Well, actually they have the first 50 in hand right now. So I will know more about this by hopefully cross my fingers Monday. And we need to do a field test with the SAGAs, the RPKs that were done that were finished. We know they work. guaranteed. All we're doing is a durability test for wear and tear falling apart. It's a very simple process. The fins flatten the sidewalls and where there's a couple of round ribs that you see, they actually machine those down. Flatten the back surface of the magazine well, put the AK type slash tab in the rear, put a notch in the front where it belongs as it's on all AK mags. It's purely a matter of making sure the jigs are correct for consistent So that's coming. Anybody wants to figure out how to do it, the biggest problem is getting the magazine to match, to copy, because you have to have a finished RPK mag. The problem with that mag, it costs $100. The modified mag that the Finns made, which was nothing more than a G3 mag, that was factored right now, either that or the finished version of that magazine that was made in Finland, costs about $100. That's why the Velma mags are, again, we're prioritizing on that because there's guys that have the Velma's out there in quantity, but they don't have any mags. They've got like two, three, four mags per rifle. If you came in when the rifle came in, very cheap when it came in, but then they blocked them all. The Sega is one option. The other direction I would go, even though you would be spending a little more money, you're averaging about $700 to $900 for a .308 right now anyway in semi-auto. and more than that if it's an M1A slash M14. Right now MainMilitary.com, he is a distributor for the Portuguese factory machine American made HK-91s. Now the reason I point you towards the HK91s is the fact that magazines are so cheap. They're not going to be cheap forever because I know how many are in the country. Magazine wise, I've seen them all. I've been to the warehouse. I've walked right by every mag you're going to buy. I mean, touched a lot of them too. I've gone through and we've looked at them. The point is that the HK mag is only about $2 to $2 to $3 and the more you buy the cheaper they are. You can't beat the mags. And they're HK produced military magazines. They're not copies or aftermarks. They work work. The HK itself is a fine rifle, it's always been so expensive by comparison. It's a matter of whether or not you have the money to spend. It's a good rifle if you could afford it. That would be a direction to go and the CETME is obviously just the sister. The CETME and the standard HK-90, you know, there are sisters side by side. Comparable in quality, both comparable for serve. The other option, going in, you're looking at this for a placement rifle, in other words for accuracy. which one sec marker uh... you're looking at uh... you're looking for something uses a uh... like a for accurate re-extended range fire now they're looking at buying fire you want something that's going to be an accuracy weapon well now we'll go right back to the first right for a mention the dragon off okay uh... dragon off out there for about seven hundred if most people don't think about magazines uh... centerfire has magazines for the dragon off they've got it in four packs There's a deal where you get the four mags plus the mag pouch they go in. You could pick up the Dragunov 7.62x54 Russian is very cheap still and still available. So that is a consideration except the rifle is going to run and is about what 600 and some dollars upper end is 1,200. I'd go lower end to mags and buy lots and lots of ammo. The only thing about the Dragunov is remember that the rifle could be feeding and eating Now the cool thing is the Russians did as much of the components in chrome as they could. So even the Dragunov is very forgiving when it comes to was designed to take and eat steel cases. So that's not going to be a problem. The big thing is remember that if you're using corrosive ammunition you need to do that's the only thing I want to remind everybody listening because a lot of people already bought these rifles. If you're using the 7.62x54 I would assume that most of the ammunition is mildly corrosive automatically. The bad guys are hoping you're not going to think about that and you're going to be sloppy about maintenance. So those are the basic areas where you could go. The M1A's, well here's the thing, the M1A, the rifle itself, Springfield Armory or wherever you could find, they're beautiful rifles but they're going to be more expensive. Magazines right now, the best price and very reliable would be to go with the ammo man dot com Taiwanese mags. best price in the country. They still have those available. You have to shop around here, there, here, there. I would spot check J&G sales. Also spot check SOG, Southern Ohio Gun. They may have something interesting there. First choice, the Sega's not a bad one. You checked and found out about the mags. I knew they didn't have a lot of mags left. I know that people have been grabbing them. So the next step is you call around and see if anybody has magazines for the Sega's. I call the local. They don't have any. and shop around through the country and see because now J&G sales bought some of those too so they mmm again I'm mentioning down the air you might want to call right away if you're serious about getting the Sega I would grab the mags first because you know that center fire has the rifles. The Sega would be more... Well that's the thing is there are more spare parts available for sale parts floating around for the HK the Sega's specialized for spare parts what I would try to do is find firing and extractors right away uh... because it is a along along actually is most they hate to say it but the a k is among right now on the planet it's just all there is to it if if i if you threw me a saga i would even blink twice not that i complain about any other i think the throw me but uh... knowingly are the a k action having carried it for so many years uh... and used it extensively and i fired hundreds and hundreds of thousands of rounds or AKs, I have not had any stove piping, I've never had any significant, in fact I never had a malfunction with an AK, I've never had a failure to feed. The only failure of ammunition, for instance when they came out with some of the over cut, and it wasn't a failure of the weapon, it was the ammunition itself with some of this Chikom made supposed hollow point. What they did is they milled down the tips of ball ammunition and they went too deep. that hung up on the magazine well on the feed area only once out of however many rounds we used. We used it up for training ammo. But we had to keep checking the barrel too because if you nip down that tip on a ball round, end up with a hollow tube, if there's any adhesion, they can leave that jacket in the barrel which of course is top of the line as far as I'm concerned. The M1A and the FAL are parallel. The HK is reliable but the HK has always been more expensive. So there's the technique. And the Sega's a beautiful arm. If you were to throw it to me, I, you know, I guess I've always said I could make that weapons thing. But that would, just find mags for it. That would be your priority. Mags for it. If you find the mags, buy them, then go back and get the rifle, and start picking up the ammo. How's that sound? That's fun. Thanks so much. You're welcome. Thank you, Owen. And we're at the bottom of the hour. I can hear the music. You all wake up, people. Come on, it's the end of the week. You still gotta go to work. Old with old Jeff Stewart and his band of Southern Horse There never were no Yankees who could beat us force to force No they never did defeat us but we never could evade Their dirty foreign politics and cowardly blockade Old with old Jeff Stewart and his band of Southern Horse There never were no Yankees who could beat us force to force No they never did defeat us but we never could evade Their dirty foreign politics and cowardly blockade. somewhere you know mark while you were gone I greatly enjoyed bringing your words to the hour trying to remember a quote from you and you guys that skip Talbot used to run up and skip Talbot basically many years ago helped a funny handgun the big handgun profile shooting I don't remember the name of it he helped build but tell you well as his eyes got worse he started to shoot with optics and long distances instead of handguns was involved in kind of a whole of his life and that's what was abbreviate, but he skipped Talbot with that statement. So what he did was he had a good idea of men and guns and the basic relationship and abilities and put a whole lot of words after that. You know Mark skipped to say that to pay attention to the guy who only has one. Don't understand that you guys skip being, oh if the 50 cats, somebody might come and shoot in light gun, heavy gun, and unlimited gun. And he might bring another gun and shoot in the belly class. Owned position, tacked a great debate over what the call that mark. Bring four guns and shoot in four different classes. But as Skip used to say, Skip has done that. Come and cleaned up. I think the year before he died, he took seven of the eight particular numerous classes. Relationship and idea of men and the ability of guns. And Skip used to say, you need to watch out for that guy who only has one gun. Well, he's not diverting that gun and even going back to his notes and four different flavors of, you know, in case and to where it finally shoots. into those dinky little dots at a thousand yards that allow you to shoot the first place in your category. Fear that man with one gun. Why? The only gun he's been paying attention to. That's the only gun that kept him alive so far. That's the only gun that he brings to the, if we're in a civil mind attitude, that he brings to the championships. Close that gun. And how do you get there Mark? Training, not just, you know, being in one place and at one, do it like this. Guys, if you shoot a factory bullet and you've never passed that bullet through a... What is that, Mark? A chronograph? You don't really know. Other than the single distance you've been shooting. That one now, don't you? This is why we tell you, you know, if you buy a new rifle, and we're talking about buying new rifles here, you go out and buy a new rifle or even buy a new handgun, because you know the little dots and bumps on top of the gun don't necessarily mean that's where the bullet's gonna hit. Ha ha ha. You know, if you read a... a rifle or a handgun. The theory where it points is where it should hit, right? Right. Okay, we've agreed on that, but you know and I know that that is not always the case. So if you buy a handgun or a long gun and you put it away, times you've done that gun a disservice, why? Fire-formed cases for the extra accuracy of hand loading, if it's a long gun. And you're not learning that point of impact versus, you know, of aim, and the same thing works on a long gun, but on your handgun. How do you, if you've only got one gun, you might have one handgun and one long gun, how do you get good at them? Send stuff down range. And how do you, you know, even then, if you're going out and just plinking, you know, there are people who, when they're shooting, they're taking notes. If you've never heard that before, that could be a revelation. There are people who, in particular, when you start shooting at distance, if you're not taking notes, you're kind of just plinking. Because if you're not taking notes and you're shooting at 100 yards then you move back to 2 and you move back to 3 and you just continue to click up and up and up on the bullet impact and you know, well make it hit again and then you move to 4 and 5 and so out maybe you have a gun that will shoot at 1000 or 1400 yards and you've moved back and back and now you've got 14 different positions just at the 100 yards that you need to remember instead of well gee I go right back over here to my notes and right at 500 yards, right at 750 yards, click, click, click, click, and I've got the range. Now all I need to do is judge that wind. How do you get good with one gun? You shoot it until you've worn it out. And then you put another barrel on it, and you shoot some more. Now that might seem like an extreme. I gotta wear out a barrel, get good. Oh my gosh, I can't do that. Well, you know what? You can get good enough without wearing out a barrel. But the people who are good on the other side, as you call them, mark the gun whores, the blood mongers, they have shotguns until they needed to be rebarreled. And that's, this is, I'm not, you know, some of them. I'm not telling you all of them, but I'm pretty certain Lon Horiyuchi is worn out a barrel or two. Exactly. You know, you guys, you want to get good. You got to be as good as the bad guys as the bottom line. That's it. Only that much better. How does that go? This is my rifle and then a little bit more and a little bit more and I will shoot him before he shoots me. How do you get there? I will. I will. Yes. Half of it is in your mind. You could have the best gun in the world. It could have been tuned by Skip Talbot, world-renowned champion. There might not ever be another 50 caliber championship where someone goes in and sweeps the place. might be tuned by 50 skip Talbot and built here's a hundred bullets boy you take those out and go to battle have the mindset to bring that to bear and to do to that person the enemy of our nation trying to do well guess what you stick your head up and so does he and he gets that shot off sooner doesn't he and then you don't stick your head up anymore and I'm not trying to scare you here I'm trying to make you prepared I'm trying to put that mindset in you that is just that much better than your opponent Just the edge of a razor better you need to be. You know, on that note real quick, guys, I want to point out something here about firearms, because this is critical right now. First of all, Don, what I can see friends and for me, I mentioned that Amaleman had M14 mag them in the last 24 hours. Fine, by what I understand, we'll find out more about that. The guys aren't answering the phone even, they're so busy right now. Hopefully we help to make that happen. I hope so. and hopefully they're cleaned out of every plastic caliber they have left in there and again it's out where it needs to be in the people's hands. Yeah, football. My team My team, I mean, like, Don, what's the basic rule there? Are they getting the paycheck? Oh, yeah, I used to do that, you know that, Mark. I had a friend the years to come over and train. And this was years ago, like when the Pistons were champions for a couple years running there in the 90s. And he was a young man. I was about 10 years older than him. And he would say, oh, we're the champions. And I would ask him, hey, what's your number in the organization? Show me a paycheck from the organization. And I did it to him again the next year. And he'd still come around and train and eventually he went to train under the guy I used to train, Hanky Shim. Now he has a great sense of, years and years, I tried to talk him into, even after he got his black belt, buy a gun. Buy a gun. You can't, no matter how good you are, you're defenseless against that gunman, 15 to 30 to 100 yards to 1000 yards away. You're defenseless. Now this guy owns about 10 or 12 guns. You know real quick now I've got some well we've got our friends in the chatroom or in our in the directory here are actually mentioning something which is important the addresses I gave down there's phone numbers especially for the one company and slotting in the head Let's just put the basic rule is this for if you can call to find out what they have in stock You're gonna have to do that. Anyway, that is good point. What's on the web pages guys? They're gonna be low. They're gonna be hard-pressed to keep even a web page up to date with now even if they did it every 24 hours by the time they enter the information stuff sorry going to be gone gone does could be down the road so uh... you want to call in each case there's phone numbers available give them a ring if you are serious about buying the rifle because you know that you can get one or you already have one well should say we have when you know you need bags but if you're going to buy it and you know where the one is you buy the mags right now walk them in as long as they have them in stock. Somebody that says they can get them to you in March or February or 2009, do you think the bad guys are going to let any of that stuff get to anybody? Just think that way. If it happens, great. But it's likely not going to happen. They're going to block it. They're going to be doing everything they can. The bad faggots are coming. It's going to be a mess. You want to get it now. Now, here's the other thing about that real quick on something else that was brought up. I know that there are people out there listening who can build magazines. There are men listening right now who could build from scratch magazines but let me let me give you a little trick absolutely right you can build the magazine the hardest thing to get right on a magazine though the two things that are the most difficult and the most sensitive obviously the whole thing's important magazines make the rifle magazines make the pistol if it's a semi-auto or an automatic doesn't make any difference okay so why reinvent the wheel here's the thing you can go out and buy an HK 91 magazine for two dollars now some people are going to cringe at this but this is how you do it guys You've got an HK91 mag for $2. To disassemble the magazine, take the base plate off. Uh oh, there's a part. You take the main follower spring out. Oh, and there's the follower. Now, guess what? The only thing that you have to fabricate is the hull. Let's say that you want to completely reinvent a magazine for a rifle that you don't have magazines for. The follower, a regular military production facility, and is premium. The follower spring is the most critical part of the magazine guys because if it don't work then all you've got is a real sophisticated bolt action rifle. Here's the question, you can fold metal at break, but can you build springs? Springs are a lot more work, so here's the thing, can you make a spring for two, can you go buy a spring for two dollars? No, but you can buy the whole mag for two dollars right now. See, start thinking this way guys. Now here's another thing I'm gonna tell you something, we already told you about ammunition. All of you listening right now that listen to us, Now have a fortune in stuff on the shelf even though you only paid a few dollars for it years ago or a few dollars for it even a year ago. Think about that. Now at this point in time things are going to start disintegrating and disappearing just like we're talking about as far as availability. Magazines don't go bad sitting on the shelf provided you make sure they're properly stored obviously. And I would recommend that if you've got $20 or $40 to spend for reserve components Why don't you go over to mainmilitary.com and buy yourself $40 worth of HK91 magazines. We get them off the shelf. They're out in the general population with people who are already communicating with each other. And so when somebody puts the call out that they need HK91 mags, you can offer them up. And yes, you offer them up at a little profit. Why? Because you're the one who was smart enough to buy them when they were available. See, I don't have a problem with that. That's how things are supposed to work. There's a whole bunch of people out there who poo-pooed what the Patriot movement was talking about, including people even in the NRA, by the way. In fact, especially in the NRA, guys. And they all were telling everybody, oh no, Obama, oh, he loves us. Oh, he's going to... Yeah, okay, well, I'll tell you what. Does Mr. Biden love you? Do you think that any of these Clintonistas that have already been put on the list that are going to be in the administration coming up here, the regime, that they love you? Yeah, you know what I mean, Dad. Now, with that being the case, you tell me what's going to happen here, because you see, Daddy didn't train no fool, and I think I can work out the people map here. Now, here's the next one. In the works, guess what they're talking about? Hillary is Secretary of State. Change, change, read my head. From an inept black woman to an inept white woman. Yeah. Conda Sleazy Rice, of course, Darth Vader. I'm sorry, she'd have to be another one. She'd be Skinny Vaderus. Skinny Vaderus, there we go. Like Twiggy Vaderus. Twiggy Vadius. Twiggy Vadius. Anyway, these characters are basically spelling it out for you. So again, you want to do this in a way, and again, you don't have to be crazy on it. You intelligently move to access what you need as you can. Okay? In fact, something in this little conversation here, years ago we had this discussion and You know why they wouldn't carry in the field? Because they didn't want to get it wet. They cost so much. And they didn't want to scratch the rifle. Because it cost so much. And I did for my first car. And it's like, yeah, exactly. It's like, guys, if you want to play with that Corvette, you got to put it on the road, don't you, Dad? Exactly. If you want to play with that Mustang, you got to put it... It does look good in the garage, but I hate to tell you, that's why you got to learn to do maintenance on things. Well, you know, there's a guy listening to this right now, Eddie, and he'll test what I'm going to tell him to a shooting, a 10-50 caliber shoot, a thousand... And there was a guy there who just basically stood around the first day and we wondered why. You know, intermittent terrain. And it was a little bit better the second day and then he got out his bit and he shot the second contest. But he had no hope of winning. All he did was shoot the second half for it. He experienced maybe, maybe. But you know, he had no experience shooting in the rain. Your gun cleaning kit is for... come on guys on the one hand you spent all those those dollars which equate to you spent your life's time on something but you're afraid of the idea that you have to spend more regular direct time think about that it's like well okay that's part of the game guys you wanted that top-of-the-line piece of equipment means that with it comes more you know more tender loving care to keep it in the field because you're supposed to get it out there and use it you don't use it are you going to be familiar with it when the time comes and a good point here is as one of our friends in the chat room was talking about is You know, the, and it is true, I've RPKs and guys for just taking abuse and beating this man out of them, the AK actions take a lot of abuse, they maintain their accuracy, their battlefield rifles, and still very reason that most of these European rifles, and I'm not talking just about the AK, all of them have went with the European philosophy of sighting systems and Only in more recent years did they finally start getting around to at least offering some adjustment that was significant. For many years, that was the, in fact, still today, the big advantage of our U.S. firearms has been the optics, has been the iron sights on the rifle. Put in the right place to begin with. Yeah, the most European, take a look at the K-90 Mauser, it's a beautiful firearm. But the barley corn notch site system that you see there has not changed, it didn't change for about 100 years now. I understand the argument of robust and serviceable. But my problem with the K98 is here they had this weapon that was a tack driver and yet they offered the sites basically for the sledgehammer. Now you turn around and you put a set of decent iron sites on that, although they're fine as is if you know how to place them around. And that's something I'll touch on real quick again too. Whenever I get a new weapon, over the years, one thing I learned years and years ago, we used to have many different gravel pits we'd use. I'd rake out different ranges, 25, 50, 100, well actually 25, 50, 75, 100, and 125, and then I'd go 100-yard increments after that. And I don't care what it was, I would fire each weapon, and somebody's gonna go, huh, you mean like a pistol? Yes. I would take whatever pistol I picked up and bought to the range, to this range, we had all our private property, and I would test it at 25, 50, 75, 100, 125, and yes, with a three inch bulldog, your golf ball and rounds in at that range, okay? But you know what I was doing? I was finding out what the point of impact is at each of those ranges. I was understanding my firearm. It doesn't mean I'm gonna take that shot and use it, and first of all, you don't have to explain to me about energy lost at range. Guys, come on. Do you think I haven't fired enough weapons to understand that with penetration? The point is that one of the things that the other, the bad guy is, he's never gonna ask you, Hey Dom, what kind of weapon you shooting at me with? I don't know, but you're catching him, it ain't gonna stop him. So the point is that the more accurate that you are in understanding and knowing where the round is going to impact at specific ranges. And what the, you know, again, understanding first felt recoil. Familiarization is at short range to understand the performance of the weapon and how it's ergonomically going to affect your hand, your wrist, your body, and how you're going to have to recover with recoil. The next step after a performance test to demonstrate the mechanical action of the weapon, to then knowing the impact point, out to the next range, in other words from 25 to 50 yards. From 50 yards then to 75 yards. Now, when I have to bring that weapon to bear, if I have a target that's still in the, what would be considered the maximum effective range, I can make that target worry and if imperferably, I will put that target down. You see how that works? I put, yes exactly, I put him down on the ground, he's not accurately returning fire when he's got to worry about the, even if it's nothing more than the collar being creased or the neck being burned. Okay, that's how you have to think about this. Remember, the other guy's thinking you're not that competent with anything. Oh, he's only got a quote unquote handgun. Well, the first time you dump three rounds down range and two of them are in the pie plate at 50 yards, the world has changed. And it better be at least all three rounds. To be quite honest, five rounds, four seconds, all of them in a quarter size group. That's my engagement at 50 yards with a 45. Pop, pop, pop, pop, pop. That's all I was taught. That's what I was doing consistently every day in competition. Granted, the whole idea, well you were under fire, we have been, okay? So as far as the idea of distractions and whatever, this is why you need to fire, use your weapon with other people around you also. that you know the isolation shooting is good for focusing to get into the pattern but then you want other shooters around you because you need those distractions to break up the process so that you have to again work out the the focus system that you're going to use to take down that target. And we are, boy I hear the music, the hour went fast guys. We've still got a lot of work to do. The weekend is here, you've got gun shows all over the place. Militia are training in all of the states this weekend by the way. I don't know about Hawaii, but all the continental states have got militia training exercises or meetings. I want you all to be civil. I want you to understand that yes, we know these are tense times, but new organizations that are coming up, you guys gotta square your stuff away. You know all the BS that the enemy's producing. Focus on the mission. God bless the republic. We shall prevail ladies and gentlemen, the empire is on the run, but we are on the march both day and night. Both Don and myself will provide you with all that you need. We got Frank coming up this next hour. You stay tuned to the Micro Effect. Help them out there guys. Thank you Donna. God bless you.
