Everything across the board, down, down, down, down. It's just one of those days. It's down. Bell Jones Industrial closed today at 82.7. Folks, wake up. Earlier this year it was over 5. points higher than that earlier in the year. Today it dropped 411 points today in the drop. Gold also dropped on the market, $712 it closed today. That's pretty darn low. Go try to buy gold for $7.12. $7 to $12 an ounce. Just try it. You're not going to find anything for less than $900 to $1200 an ounce. But the most exciting part of today's market is Crude oil closed at $55.50 a barrel. When are we going to see less than $2 across the country? That should be coming soon. Ruby Tuesdays and Thank God It's Fridays and that type of restaurant you guys that they've they've they're in companies that you can buy stock in and that stock is going down but you know what? Back in McDonald's and Burger King is going up because the people that used to go to Ruby Tuesdays and Thank God It's Fridays and stuff like that when a Burger King and McDonald's now Hey, those who just have to go out to eat they go buy that $2 hamburger instead of that $6 caught cappuccini. Yeah Yeah, well interesting thing too. Is that with with this situation? I guess Well, remember they kept saying oh, don't worry about losing your jobs. You're gonna go into the service industry well the flipping burgers routine is about it and That's all that's going to be left for the way things are going that that meows hurt around the world. I keep watching yard sales where people are getting rid of these thermoses and you know, they're going to start looking for them. The ones that really work because like thermos, thermos, remember were glass and double insulated and all these other cool things. And you know, they keep, there's, there's, there's, cocoa and coffee we've put on this bench right here in this studio come back 24 hours later and it's just as hot as when it was put in that's a testament to the quality of the like 50s 60s and 70s you know type thermoses the newer stuff a doesn't work as well but what's fascinating is what what came to my mind was the idea that you had to because of you know people were more frugal more intelligent in their process for purchasing They would brew a pot of coffee, total cost about 92 cents maybe for the whole pot for that morning, pour a certain amount of that into their thermos, which would probably be half to two thirds, Carried whole carry to work carefully and I can picture this because I know everybody launch time to break out the launch pail The thermos is off to the side usually made by thermos in that aqua color with the stainless steel parts remember that one those Yeah, and you unscrew the top and they pour that from that cap. They pour a cup of coffee and what they would do is then turn right around and and relax and enjoy themselves with a limited amount. Okay, and it would always be purely a matter of, hey how good are you at making coffee, right? And I can, it came to my mind as soon as I heard this because yeah, three, four, two dollars, twelve dollars, six dollars for a couple what? Well, that's, yeah, that's where things have gone. But the other half of this, guys, with Starbucks, back when we were flying around all the time and a lot of you people know we went millions of miles in that one, The one thing that jumped out, and this is when Starbucks really started to do the aggressive, let's take over the airports and let's take over everything. Used to be there'd be like seven or eight little restaurant hole in the wall places that you could go to and get a cup of coffee or somebody get a glass of wine or you can get some knickknacks and a glass of wine or some knickknacks and a cup of coffee. And what happened is all of a sudden First Starbucks came in then the store right next to Starbucks became another Starbucks Then we come back to the same airport say three months later because we've been flying all over the country We went through this airport and where there were six little hole-in-the-wall stores There were six Starbucks and each one each one was its own Starbucks guys Now I'd asked somebody there was a girl out front and like everything else like the gas stations with BP I said hey How long before Starbucks closes down five out of the six of these? And she just went, what? And I said, well, why does Starbucks need six of the same stores side by side on a stretch that has nothing else for as far as you can see to the airplanes? And she kind of wanted to brain fart. Well, the next time we came back, five out of the six, this is like a, well, about three weeks later, it wasn't quite a month, Five out of the six of those Starbucks were shut down and there was just the one which now controlled all the business and people were lined up out into the hallway and there was no place to buy anything and you didn't have time to get to do anything else other than buy that one cup of coffee and then you had to run to your plane because the other businesses which took up the slack which were other kinds of businesses weren't there anymore. And now here's the next step. Now you go down that same air terminal There's nothing there in the last Starbucks is closed. Hey, I'll be right back. Hey, well look at that guys. Wouldn't that special? Look at that Monopoly thing does for you. Parasite, blood sucker, throat, plop. Now what other shiny news do we have? One store that was really funny that I went into I got some stuff, I walked up the counter and as I got to the counter the clerk's wife calling and she was asking him to bring her a home some bread and milk and a couple other things and then she said, well, you got some other money, don't you? And she says, I want you to bring me home this or something. It was a big ticket items, something pretty expensive. And his response back to her, no, that $40 is going to buy ammunition tonight. He says, I told you that it's buying ammunition. tonight. Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition, we'll have a shot of a cashier sweeping on a scanner, an ammo box, and another ammo box, and another ammo box. Oh yes. I did the same thing. I went shopping. Six hours I was out. I found two idiots yesterday that looked at me with a sort of glass of air like what in the hell are you talking about. But everybody else, they knew exactly what I was talking about. I got two new recruits yesterday too gentlemen. That's a good one. Any case, well I was at Walmart and a sporting goods department. I went back there two weeks ago I bought some supplies. I went back to get some more supplies that I didn't get two weeks ago. Well, all but two items that I went there to get. They were gone. In fact, two of the items had a tag on the rack that said discontinued. And I asked the manager, a sporting goods manager, what's going on? He said, oh, we've been ordered to discontinue this stuff and we won't have any more. And I asked him about some other stuff, but they're all gone. Like arrowheads? They were all gone. Two weeks ago, you could buy them for 8, 9, 10, 11 bucks. There was only two packs for $19 and one pack for $39. Still on the rack. All other arrowheads were gone. When I was there two weeks ago, there were no arrows. Well, there were a few arrows there yesterday. I bought a few. There were some that were broken. I tried to buy them. The manager asked the store manager and the store manager told him on the phone, no, we can't sell them at a discount price. We've been ordered to ship all the stuff back to the whatever we don't sell for hunting goes back. I talked with him longer and the man says, I asked him about certain things. No, he says when they're out of stock, they're gone. He says we've been ordered not to reorder or refill. I said what about ammunition? He says well, if we run out before the end of hunting season, we will probably reorder some more stuff as far as hunting goes. Now, deer season opens this coming Saturday for shotgun and rifle here in New York. Folks, if a few dozen people bought the shotgun shells that were left, they wouldn't have any. They were down to about two cases left of shotgun slugs, and they had about six boxes of buckshock that was left. On one particular type of ammunition, I got the last box. Two other guys came there after I got it off the shelf, and they were asking, well, we're all out. When you ask them, don't know when we're going to get any more. It was sort of a panic yesterday of guys, 15 guys last night were there besides me trying to get what they could get. And most of the calibers of ammunition for rifle, pistol, whatever was there. They have an average of about six boxes of each caliber with all that's left on the shelf other than the shot of the bird shot. Dave, we've got to go to break. Walmars came in here three years ago they put about 10 or 15 small mom and pop businesses out of business. When Walmart closes there will be no place to buy cloth, sewing needles, sewing supplies of any kind in this area except what few supplies that can be bought through Family Dollar or Dollar General which is very minimal. I mean, where are people going to buy cloth, where are they going to buy needles, where are they going to buy thread when they close this out at Christmas. So not only ammunition, other very essential items are being removed from the shelves and there's no place to go here whatsoever. The nearest clothing store from where I'm at is over 25 miles to the next nearest clothing store when Walmart closes. That's it. Okay, very good. Appreciate that, Dave. You're welcome. Thank you. How many of you have all of your cleaning kits for everything that you're going to be carrying? How many of you have the proper load-bearing equipment that ergonomically fits you or the person who's going to be carrying the weapon and matches the weapon system? In other words, proper magazine pouch for the right mag. There's no sense in doing it halfway because the variety of the selection is out there. Right now, engineer it so it works to the best of our ability. Works to improve our abilities on the battlefield. But, mainmilitary.com. Go down there and get it. Go down sleeves, oil rags for your guns, you can do all kinds of, you can use it to patch your BDUs. All kinds of things you can do. How about headbands, seasons, different sleeves for your gun while you're out in the field. Look black all the time. You know what I mean about that. And if they're gonna dump, go get it now. In fact, you can even walk in there and say, well, there might not be any closeout signs at your local Walmart because they, again, they have a plan. What they don't sell, they're gonna move to other places. And if it doesn't move there, they'll move it through their closeout people. You know, it won't even be, say, Walmart at that place. But if you walk in there and say, hey look, I hear you're closing out. The people there might not even know it yet. But go in there and get it. Get it while you can. And here's another thing. While you're in there, you might want to take the little woman with you, the wife, you know. If you don't sew, I sew, Mark. I just look at it like tying things together, like caveman, Ugg. You know what I mean? I'll tell you this to that. It'd be better now. Ugg. And along that line. We're into the fall season here pretty hard now, you guys. Like those three seasons where you can wear a little more bulk in your clothes instead of me mostly I'm just a t-shirt guy. And you know what, it's hard to hide a 1911 under a t-shirt. Take my word for it. By the time it comes to fall, hey, a lot of things you can do like coats and whatnot and you can hide all kinds of things under coats. We started to talk about about that you can wear over your under. Like for years I wore it over a black leather jacket mark and it's a nice looking hunting vest. I can wear it over a number of things or under other things as the weather gets more severe like under my field jacket. Vest, it's really nice. You know, it's warm, it's down lined, it's not 18th of an inch thick. This is about, it's rather three dimensional, it's about three quarters of an inch thick. Eye being left handed on the inside of the breast of the right side. to hold the 1911. What I do is reach in there with my left hand and out comes John Moses Browning's finer little creations. You know, in my defense. It is, so to speak, willing to jump to my hand from there. Now, to balance out that vest, what you do is you go out to the gun store or the, gee, come on, you know, the gun shows or whatnot, and you get you about six or eight magazines, depending on how big you are and how much your gun weighs, and you fill them up with bullets. And now, you kind of measure them out equal. This amount of mag equals out my gun. Because you don't want to look like the vest is being drawn to one side. You know, there are people who are trained to look for people who carry. You know what I mean? Well, if the vest is balanced out, it's not going to sag on one side or the other. So what you do is you take some of that black ballistic nylon cloth or some of that black really tight wove and you start So you double it over so it becomes really strong. Now you have the wife or if you think you can do it or if she's got a sewing machine even better because now you can... straight line on that. And you tuck that mag up to that straight line and you take a chalk or something and you mark where it's pinched together. And you sew it again. And now you test fit that mag. It should go in there with a little bit of drag. So while you're running, while you're throwing criminals about the room, The mags don't fall out of these custom built pockets that you're about to sew in to the other side inside breast. That vest you bought while you were at Walmart. Now, when this is all done and you've loaded up your magazines, what you want to do is make certain that with the reach of your hand, you reach in and your gun comes out. If not, you're going to have to alter the way the pocket you sewed in there. Some guns are going to drag the front sight, some are going to drag the back sight a little. You're going to have to work this out for your own dimension. It's not exactly a slapping leather mark. You know what I mean? But when you have this vest on and you're walking throughout that Walmart next week and things are balanced out and if it's done right, you don't even have to button it. You don't have to zip it. but you're walking along and it just looks like you're Johnny in the crowd and everything is okay and normal and you're just wanting to stay warm. But right there, ready to jump to your hand, is your favorite sidearm. And on the other side is all of the food it can need for us. And we started to talk about that a little while ago, Mark, and I had to bring that description to you. Which is really not a good thing. However, carrying the mags in front of you in slab configuration, they don't explode. It's just like gas tanks on cars, guys. Oh, heaven forbid we should be in any movie, especially an action movie. I love the little comedy spoof where they did that. The guy parks the car, walks away from it, it blows up. He walks over towards another car, the truck blows up. He walks over towards another car, you know, they're not even doing anything, you know. That's exactly how people have been conditioned. They watch all this BS and they start believing a lot of it, you know. Now it doesn't mean cars won't blow up, but you gotta put a lot of holes in them and send some tracer down range behind it to make them cook better, okay? It really does work. Otherwise, no, no Tiki no Washi. Well, the same is true with anything you put in front of you. The magazine is made out of aluminum or steel, or even phenolic plastic or some form of Zytel. That slows stuff down. The cartridge itself is made out of metal. That slows stuff down. It's gotta go through the other wall. That slows stuff down. Now remember, you still have armor underneath that. And we've already been taking energy out of the round as it's passing through. No, it's not as much as you'd like, but it's a hell of a lot better. In many cases, your shock trauma plate might do its job, and the armor underneath it will dissipate the energy. So the worst you're going to feel is a hell of a thunk, and you're going to have a black and blue mark. But at least you're not going to... Yeah, and you got to...
