Summary
Mark Koernke discussed weapons preparedness and firearms availability on "Weapons Wednesday," focusing on the rapid depletion of firearms and ammunition from retail shelves following recent political developments. He provided detailed information on acquiring AR-15 and AK-pattern rifle parts from vendors like CenterFire Systems and Ohio Ordnance Works, discussed alternative calibers including .22 long rifle uppers and .308 rifles, and addressed the advantages of larger caliber main battle rifles (.30-06, 7.62x54R, 8mm Mauser) over smaller calibers. The show included a caller troubleshooting headspace issues with a Mauser-action rifle and concluded with maintenance advice for corrosive ammunition.

A figure walked in through the mist with a flintlock in his hand. His clothes were torn and dirty as he stood there by my bed. He took off his three-cornered hat, and speaking low to me, he said, We've fought a revolution to secure our liberty. We wrote the Constitution as a shield from tyranny. For future generations, this legacy we gave. In this, the land of the free. and home of the brave. The freedoms we secured for you we hoped you'd always keep. But tyrants labored endlessly while your parents were asleep. Your freedom's gone, your courage lost, you're no more than a slave. In this the land of the free and home of the brave. You buy permits to travel and permits to own a gun. Permits to start a business or to build a place for one. On land that you believe you own, you pay a yearly rent. Although you have no voice in saying how the money is spent, your children must attend a school that doesn't educate, and your Christian values can't be taught according to the state. You read about the current news in a regulated press, and you pay a tax you do not owe to please the IRS. Your money is no longer made of silver nor of gold. You trade your wealth for paper so your life can be controlled. You pay for crimes that make our nation turn from God and shame. You've taken Satan's number. You've traded in your name. You've given government control to those who do you harm so they could burn down churches and seize the family farm. And keep our country deep in debt. Put men of God in jail. Harash your fellow countrymen while corrupted courts prevail. Your public servants don't uphold the solemn oaths they've sworn. and your daughters visit doctors. So their children are people. Your leaders send artillery and guns to foreign shores and send your sons to slaughter fighting other people's wars. Can you regain the freedoms for which we fought and died? Or don't you have the courage or the faith to stand with pride? And are there no more values for which you'll fight to save? Or do you wish your children to live in fear and be a slave? O sons of the Republic, arise, take a stand, defend the Constitution, the Supreme Law of the land, preserve our great Republic and each God given right, and pray to God to keep the torch of freedom burning bright. As I awoke, he vanished in the mist for whence he came. His words were true, we are not free, but we have ourselves to blame. For even now as tyrants trample each God given right we only watch in tremble too afraid to stand and fight If he stood by your bedside in a dream while you were asleep and wondered what remains of the freedoms he fought to keep What would be your answer if he called out from the grave is this still the land of the free home? The first hour of the afternoon intelligence reporters, outdoor enthusiasts, survivalists, the Arnold Batchers. One day closer to victory for all of our brothers and sisters both on and behind the lines in occupied territories west, southwest, southeast, and north. Well, ladies and gentlemen, you are listening to us on libertytreeradio.4mg.com, pbn.4mg.com, and we're on live 365, then go to Liberty Tree Radio. We're also on AM and FM microstations, CB Bay stations, and Ultra Net Technologies, both east and west of the Mississippi, and central and southern Alaska, and almost to the Aleutians. Don? Today's date is... Instead, we're just making sure that we're emphasizing on the W Day here that you need to be armed. And as is the case, a lot of people seem to have awakened it to that issue. Duh. With what we're seeing nationally, I'm sure the other side is still going, well, we expected that. They know all, see all, do all. Well, that's good. That's nice to know. So no one understands and sees this, that that's just a fingernail scratching. Imagine this. For every one or two weapons that are going through a gun shop right now, there are probably 10 or 20 that are being privately sold in different ways. Has anybody thought about that? I mean, just consider the numbers. I mean, right now we're talking, we've had reports of many gun shops around the country. Well, first of all, they sold out all their ARs right away. They sold out of their AKs. They've sold out of most of their other semi-automatic MBRs of any kind, although there are some out there, still a few. We're going to touch on that today, again. But for the most part what's interesting is that there's a lot of other arms that people have had you know excess of or have decided that well, you know They've been they've received or inherited and they choose to sell them. You know what? I don't argue with people are doing that anymore instead buy them It's that simple. People should know better right now. Of course, to a degree, some people are doing this because they have actually set up what they consider retirement packages. And they're selling the weapons for a reasonable price, but they're not gouging anybody. Okay, but they're still selling a reasonable price by today's standards. It's not what they paid for them when they bought them. See how that works. So that was a wise move, probably the best example. There are people who bought cases of SKS carbines. Most of those they bought to hand out. They're not going to be selling them right now. But there are a few, and if they are, hey, you're getting a chance to see some of these SKS's that haven't seen the light of day for say about, oh, the last 10 to 15 years. There are a lot of people at the gun shows that are private individuals who are selling something because they feel they need to rebalance their inventory, and I understand that. But again, Take advantage of it. You need to ask, check around, look to see what's on the tables. The only difference that's really significant now in the past, usually the price was about the same or a little better if it was an unpapered firearm. Just reverse is happening is that people are asking you know greater prices for these for these weapons because obviously there's not going to be any Entanglements with the Imperium there not until later when they try to take everything and when they do well That's what you bought all these other weapons for not to sit and look at them on the wall and not to bury them in the backyard Just reverse have them cock-locked ready rock and roll to make sure that they're available when you need them Okay Now, Don, as weapons Wednesday, there's a couple things here. A lot of you guys have AR-15s. Now, there's many companies right now we can go to. I'm going to go through several. And one of them, though, and what they have is Catch as Catch can now, because a lot of people, especially a lot of you, have listened. And we have cleaned Center Fire System out a couple times of whole categories of items that now they can't replace, okay? Well, one of them is with the AK and the AR-15 for spare parts, pieces, and assemblies. Now, some things have gone up in price. You're going to have to check and see what they're asking right now. But I'll give you an example. If you have the Romanian AK-47 right now, they have, this is Center Fire Systems at CenterFireSystems.com. Their order number is 1-800-950-1231. That's 1-800-950-1231. And their inquiries or standard ground number is 859-873-2352. That's 859-873-2352. They're open from 8 AM to 6 PM Eastern. They're located in Versailles, Kentucky. OK. So anyway, AK parts. Well, some of the things they have that are actually pretty good buys. They've got tens of, 20's of, 5's of, 6 of. One of them is AK Repair Kit. It's got the gas piston, pistol grip, axis pin, sleeve, sear, pin guide, trigger, and hammer. Cost $9.99. Now, the gas piston alone guys is worth that. Period. But we're talking gas piston, we're talking most of the other part, the heavy internals, not the tiny internals, the big internals. Good to have spares of for the future. For people to say, well, the reason I don't buy an AK is because it might be soft, or the metal's not as fill-in-the-blank. Well, guess what? Here's how to be ready for that. So when someone says, well, it doesn't have the lifespan of, say, the heavily machined AKs of whatever year. When you have all the spares to keep the weapon tight, that's not a problem. And a spare gas piston rod is a really, really good idea. A very good idea. So you should be looking at having a few of those. If you have the Romac AKs, you know, in whatever configuration, this is a nice little package to have sitting on the side. Another one they have is a combination AK-47 or AK-74 bayonets with frogs. Now, Dom, these are the wire cutter models, which are very nice. Four for $24.99, excellent price for those. Actually, it might even be a better price right now. They might be down to $20 for a four. We'll find out. You guys need to call and find out. But the reason I bring it up is because there are compensators. A lot of you may have one model, want to switch to another. Guess what? Look here first. Elevation tools, site tools, gas port cleaning components. One of the other things, every one of you having an AK must get ASAP. And that's an AK speed loader. Now, this goes on the magazine, works as a stripper guide for the SKS stripper clips. Wow, you didn't know you could do that? Well, guess what you can? The advantage of this is you can carry manufactured bandoliers of 30 caliber 7.62x39 Russian in SKS stripper clips just like you would your M16 ammo and rather than carrying lots and lots and lots and lots of extra magazines which is still nice or having a handful of chiclets you've got these the ammunition already loaded in the stripper clips if you have a guy with an SKS you can throw him the ammunition as is guess what works right out of the bag. If he's got the AK, well with the stripper clip guide and AK speed loader guide and the stripper clips you're able to zip-rock, zip-rock, and one more time, zip-rock, cut, cut, cut, cut, you last couple are kind of tough. And clip- A zipper loader to 30 round magazines so fast. Yeah, and then we're talking boom, she's back online. Now the thing is one person can be loading mags while everybody else is emptying them. See how that works and again the idea is that even if all you could get was say let's say the person's got weak hands 20 rounds fast is better than a handful of chiclets and hold on I got only 25 more to go Know what I mean? So this is a good idea and again the parts number on that for the AK speed loaders for the AK mags steel is 98 L D R a K a 0 1 That's 98 L-D-R-A-K-A-0-1. Cost is about $6 a unit. Maybe a little less, maybe a little more. The more you buy, usually the cheaper they are. Ask them about that. And that is a priority. If you have the AK, that is a high priority. Now otherwise, I don't need to tell you, you can go to CenterFireSystems.com and they have all the goodies laying around there, including these spare tools. accoutrements, clip-on bipods. Guys, don't get too fancy. I like clip-on things because you can get rid of them real quick and they're out of the way. Okay, so like the clip-on bipods are cool. Turns out heavily you're going to dress up the rifle. But don't go crazy on it. Okay, in other words, right now, kiss. Keep it simple, stupid. The design needs to be simple, needs to be easy to use. If you're not familiar with it, concentrate on the action and the weapon itself. don't add a lot of trinkets because then you'll have that much more you have to start thinking about. Doesn't mean you can't think it just means that we need to focus on the basics with the weapon you just picked up or with the weapons that you're training people to use. Then they can move into other directions. Now for AR-15 lovers There's a bunch of aftermarket parts laying around over there at Centerfire. You're going to have to call to see what's there. I know that you've been listening. The RF15 lower kit for $59.99, they are sold out of. There are not any there. I checked the other day. There are many other accoutrements and fixtures that you can purchase from them. So CenterfireSystems.com and 1-800-7-8-7-8-7-8-7-8-7-8-7-8-7-8-7-8-7-8-7-8-7-8-7-8-7-8-7-8-7-8-7-8-7-8-7-8-7-8-7-8-7-8-7-8-7-8-7-8-7-8-7-8-7-8-7-8-7-8-7-8-7-8-7-7-8 9501231 the a case they're out of them they are out of them they have some Sega's we're gonna touch on that in just a second we come back down this the Intel report it is weapons Wednesday back in three minutes on MTR Collectors, outdoor enthusiasts, survivalists. That address again is Raider Company, HHC, P.O. Box 194, Dexter, Michigan, 48130. Colonial Marines in all 50 states, serving America in America today and into the future. the I asked about, what was it? Oh, they do have some .45s. They are sold out of all handguns except for maybe three or four. And when I say three or four, I mean when I called, there were three or four of each and that was it. And maybe three models. All the AKs gone, all the shotguns gone, all the shotgun shells gone. And this is an interesting one. 12 gauge guys all over the country is gone gone. Now, I don't know, we'll see what happens with, for instance, there's bird shots still available like at Cabela's and they actually had a sale on it. We'll see whether or not that even exists right now. I haven't had a chance to check. But real quick, let's go back to center fire and then we're going to cover the AR sagas. There are two sagas that they do have in stock that are actually not bad rifles. However, the one is the Sega 223 rifle. Reason it's not moving, no spare mags. There are no mags for the rifle that are in a good quantity. It comes with only one mag, which is really ridiculous. However, if you want a little .223 nail driver, make it into a counter sniper or a sniper rifle, this particular Sega for about .318 or whatever it is, is with the already has the Zytel Skeleti stock, it should have the rail on the side of the receiver. Okay. and it basically could be set up very quickly as a light sniper rifle slash utility rifle. Again, this could also take pressure off your main battle rifles. You need something for security. This is good enough for security operations to the rear or as a support rifle or base of fire weapon for a sniper supporting a security facility somewhere, you know, like a hospital complex, rear area housing, just dependents and families, that kind of thing. Now the other one, the only other Sega they have left is the 22 inch .308 rifle and I'm fascinated that this is still there because it's $500. I know this, that's a chunk of change. However, most of the other .308s or any of the other MBRs that are Dragon off type sniper rifles are running $700 and $800 guys. So we're talking a .308 rifle. Spare mags are available for this particular Sega, the Sega's in .308. It's the model with the thumb hole stock. It's the one I would actually prefer if I were to get, you know, I mean for the price because I want the long barrel. You want the 22 inch barrel. They do have them in stock. You have to call to find out what's left and or if they've already been sold. But those are the two AK types and variants that they do have. that are still available and they're both in American calibers. So that's not a bad thing. It's just the one understand the limitations of the Sega 223. They're on these spare mags, at least not from Cinderfire. Sega and .308, pretty decent rifle. $500 is reasonable for that particular system because it is a .308. It's a poor man's dragon off. You save about $300. And there's a little secret later on we could tell you about the mags which we won't talk about yet but there's a mag project already done that has given us a solution to give you 20 round mags for that rifle. Okay? Oh and there are some Sega shotguns. That's about it. But they're so expensive. I mean I'd go the rifle before I'd go the shotgun. I'll just tell you the way it is. For the time being. Because they went up in price to where they shouldn't be and the Sega 308 kept that price range about 500. And Don, 223's. Because AR's, that's the thing we're looking at right now too. Well, let's bump down even smaller than that Mark. How about a complete carbon fiber upper for your AR-15, M16, all of the variants thereof from Velocity carbon fiber upper 22 long rifle. $299 you guys. You'll get a magazine with it. Our magazine is available, but you'll get one with it. That's all. The magazines aren't cheap, but I'm told that they are really superior as far as construction and performance for your AR-15 lower. For $299, it'll allow you to shoot 22 long rifles. Hey, for what you're paying for a case, you know, a 10 of .223 right now, this is almost gonna pay for itself. I know that's an exaggeration. Again, I repeat, I know that's an exaggeration, but it's almost gonna pay for itself. $299 for an upper for 22 long rifle. Hey, I know I've been repeating myself too, but you know what that phone number is? 519835049. That's velocity firearms at 651-983-5049. One more time for those of you that didn't get it yet. 5198349. Oh, you know, you can talk down 22 all you want, but uh... Every time you pull the trigger, it's almost as if you're saving money. You're not going, ouch, ouch, you're going, eh, eh, instead it's not hurting as much when you pull the trigger, guys. Yup, and it would be a good thing to bring someone into the gun world as far as, well, their shoulders not taking a beating. They're becoming used to the sight picture, the breath control, the position they're shooting in, and many other factors, and actually even learning maybe to read the wind. Now there can be a good one. But any number of ways that you can take advantage of this system, be it out in the field, you know, actual applications or using it for the youngsters and for women folk, you or I, Mark, you could pick up this system, empty the magazine into probably an inch or two at 100 yards. Why? Well, you know, there ain't a whole lot of recoil out of that two, three, but How about next to no felt recoil, that 22 long rifle, not coming out of that frame? And again, the ability, and you know, we talk about spray and pray, but if you have to double or triple tap that and you're sighted, sorry, the third one's gonna hit where pretty close to where the first one did. Why? Again, no recoil. It's almost like shooting a water pistol. Oh, and I mean, I'm not gonna dwell on this forever. I'm gonna give you that phone number again one more time, you guys, maybe twice. 651-983-5049. That's velocity firearms, a carbon fiber upper for your AR-15 that will allow you to shoot 22 long rifle. Again, one more time on that phone number, 651-983-5049. Now Mark, I know that you mentioned the number of these guns that just plain disappeared off the shelves at a remarkable rate as of late. There are plenty of places out there where you can still get pieces of guns, aren't there? Oh yes, as far as parts, pieces, and assemblies, one of the things I was looking at, there's been a question here, forget me Don. In the chat room guys, it was a good point, one of the questions was what about the idea of taking a high point carbine and switching it over to 30 caliber Tokarev. Now that is a good idea. Actually, the 30 caliber Tokarev round could handle quite nicely a carbine length barrel like that. You'll notice there's a whole bunch of submachine gun knockoffs that were done using Sumoi and other large capacity mag 30 Tokarev cartridge chambered submachine gun kits. they are expensive. I mean they're pricey you know that. They've in fact the reason is because you got like 73 or 72 or 73 round drums. You got stick mags that are 32 rounders so you got a lot of firepower there if you actually had that in place. Now the only thing I would say is some of the combinations I've seen are awful heavy because Don they made them with long barrels and set them up like squad guns almost the way they're established. So you're looking at some poundage there. The high point on the other hand if high point would make a 30 Tokarev chambered pistol then the 30 Tokarev chambered high point carbine would be another cool solution and the big advantage is the vast amount of surplus ammo out there now little note case case in point the reason pardon the pun their case as in cartridge case anyway The 30 Tokra of round is longer than the 9mm, so it's not going to fit comfortably in anything you've got unless there were an ION getting confusion on that. It won't integrate per se between the two of 9 and 30. However... If they were to make it then if they were to make a 30-toe grab we wouldn't have a problem with that at all. The German answer to this by the way is I however many of you might have noticed this years ago World War I and pre-World War I but also after World War I especially. The Germans made a neck down 9 millimeter that was 9 that was 30 caliber Luger. The cool thing about that particular chambering is that the only thing you had to change in a Luger was the barrel. The internals all stayed the same, everything matched up and because it was a neck down 9mm round the .30 caliber Luger round fit right into the magazine which is a really cool idea. So that was not a bad proposition. Now there would be a couple of other options as far as who might make a rifle like this, light rifle or carbine. We need to talk about that actually kind of probe them and say hey guys in this market stuff sells. And maybe High Point could tool up real quick and do it. Wouldn't be that complicated. We just need to find out whether or not they have any approval issues with the Batfaggots. Well here's the music. We have got to go to the bottom of the hour break. This is the end tell report. You got Don and Mark here. It is Weapons Wednesday. We'll be back in about 4 minutes on LTR. This is my right. This one is mine. My right. It is my life. Without my right. I'm useless. I feel true. You can before it shoots me. Before God has come me to the redcoats What mind you madness fills in our valleys There is danger and there's danger in our hills Oh here you not just singin' out of the view Though wild and free soon you'll know The ringing of the rifle from the tree Oh the rifle, oh the rifle In our hands the fruit of no frightful You may ride a good lead speed, you may know a stern a master You forward march with speed, but you'll learn to back much faster When you meet our mountain boys and their leader George Star I'm glad you make what little noise and always hit the mark Oh, they're rifle, oh, they're rifle In our hands we'll prove no frightful Maggie no graves at home, back across the briney water. That hitty must come alive, well it's a suit of slaughter. But it's way the job must do, and the sooner it is begun. If Clinton's bigger, hold the buck too, the quicker it will be done. Hold the rifle, hold the rifle. In our hands, no proof, no true rifle. Hold the rifle, hold the rifle. In our hands, no proof, no true rifle. And ladies and gentlemen, we are back. This is the Intel Report, and that was, oh, the rifle. When you hear that, think about what that was. When it was produced in the American Revolution, we had flintlocks. Cap and ball did the same thing, although you don't quite notice the second percussive, the second tap. I should say the first tap, because there's a smaller cap going off, and then kapoom. See, you get that kapoom. but with the pan especially and this only a few movies actually address the issue of flintlocks and one of them was if you remember last in the Mohicans and There's an excellent example thereof You know the pan striking you see the flash and then there's the hesitation and still the round so you had to stay focused Which is really critical an excellent example of rifle marksmanship and the idea that you have to stay focused on the mission, on the target, and remember all the processes that you have to go through that all become part of natural, you know, they become second nature to what you're doing when you're dealing with a weapon. That is also true with all the modern arms that we're dealing with here. One of the things I have said before, and I will say it again, go to YouTube and start looking at a lot of the different weapons systems that are out there known when you can look at the big stuff I don't care what you look at main battle tanks all the different crew served air defense guns artillery pieces everything I don't care what it is you have a chance right now to look at a vast collection and inventory of arms and you get pretty close up to a meeting to see how they work Now they can't do everything contrary to what the movies try to depict And there are limitations just as their advantages to each weapon system progressively Especially when you get down into shoulder fired and handheld firearms guys you're talking a big world of difference from one part of the planet to the other so Take the time Take a look at what's available, take a look at what they're doing and the weapons that are at hand. Remember, don't spray and pray. Don't go to the range and just blast. This is another thing you can't afford to anymore. The big wave is here. Now a lot of you are way ahead of this and are listening in the chat room or listening across the country right now via all of our different outlets. You've been listening for a while, you picked up on what we were talking about, you went out and you're ahead of the game. Now that doesn't mean you can't still top off stuff because as everybody's acknowledging now is the time where you dot all the I's and cross all the T's. You might have an AR-15 but you may want spare parts. Try to find the spare parts before anybody starts thinking in that direction. However, I would say this, people are on the quick upswing too with regard to picking up on the problem. AR's are gone, people are going to start building them. So, the center of our system was one solution, here's another direction to go. And if they still have them, somebody wants to check, it'd be great. I have not had a chance to call them again. Ohio Ordnance Works, Incorporated. Their number is 440. Oh, wait a minute, make sure I get that right. 4-4-0, oh, that's a good thing I look a little closer again, my writing. 2-8-5, 3-4-8-1. 4-4-0, 2-8-5, 3-4-8-1. That's 4-4-0, 2-8-5, 3-4-8-1. M16A1, complete uppers in good condition. Save $25. Very good to good. I go good. Go good condition, $250. already assembled everything there ready to operate it'll drop right onto any whatever lower receiver kit you put together and you've got yourself a complete AR-15 A1 model you know the sandbag slash Vietnam era rifle it'll work just fine the idea is fastest for the mostest for the leastest okay you can put together quick you can put it on the shelf it's yours now I would say this magazines are going to be another issue because Don, I've been looking at whole companies guys are running completely out and I mean we were talking completely out we're talking about oh my goodness people are coming in grabbing everything that's there and run to the door. Most people I understand are not waiting to have it shipped if they're within driving distance or doing the smart thing. They're going in picking them up and taking them home. That is a wise thing to do. Now one more time, the M16A1 complete uppers. Now this is without the bolt-bolt carrier and charging handle. Not a big deal. You can get those separate and again we're looking for a single solution. Between hand-me-down parts, and if you want to, you can go to the gun shows, you might find some cool deals there. You could probably put an A1 together for right now for about $430 to maybe $500 max. Now that same rifle we used to put together all day for $125 from junk parts. Seriously, I'm flat out telling you, I mean we've built, I don't know how many of these. But right now the A1 stuff is out there because everybody thinks they need the M4 which is an under gunning, if you got it, remember it's a carbine, nada. First of all, it's an assault rifle, it's the M16. Then we cut the barrel short, we made it into a submachine gun. See how that works? So I'm not right, as long as you understand and don't try to rewrite the book for me and tell me that, no, no, no, that's a rifle. No, no, no, that's a submachine gun by military standards when it was first developed, especially the XM-177. They've tried to gauge everybody's thought processes down. Here's the cool thing. They've done that with the regular military people. But on our side, all those tens and tens and tens and tens and tens of millions of main battle rifle cartridges are in our camp, guys. We do not have the limitations of the 223 with the entire inventory, nor do we have the limitations in penetration. 30 caliber, let's say 30 out of 6, 308, 7.62x54, 8mm Mauser, 300 win mag, 7mm Remington mag. Guys, these things have phenomenal penetration and deliver a lot of energy against the target once they get through the stuff on the outside and get to the soft, chewy stuff on the inside. So we actually the militia of the United States is right now two steps up from what the average soldier in the field is carrying and he can have a latest whiz-bang shit around the corner toy you want Guess what I can take that Mauser and shoot through the corner. Yeah Look, there's a little toy doll. It's a it's a shooter on the corner thing. Yeah, you see that Frank Yeah, the third Israeli to do this over here today over here. He's for fighting in Boston somewhere It's the year 2011 and they still got a couple of those little shoot around the corner You know pistol rifle combos and they got a little toy out there and everybody's pretty well got the math down and so he's sitting there bobble a little toy hoping to lure somebody and that eight millimeter round hits about two and a half feet up off the ground and and about a foot into the corner. Next thing you see the toy gun flops over, the little toy flops over, and there's a little hand or body going plop right out next to where the weapon is. Look at that! What a surprise! That's the difference between penetration and volume fire with light rifles. In this case we're not talking about a whole lot deflecting a 200 grain 8mm bullet doing about what 2,300 to 2,400 feet per second. I think it's got some energy guys. What do you think? What do you think? What about 30 out of 6? I'm going to point to everybody out there that's in the bad guy camp that might be listening. You all better go out and take a look at what just happened to the inventory here guys. 30 out of 6 just went whomp, whomp, whomp, whomp. And now where did it go? Because first of all they're going to tell you, well we used 2-2-3's. Well you know it wasn't the cop shops. Well, we used to do threes. Well, you know, it wasn't the black shirted goons So who just bought a couple hundred million rounds of 30 out six and made it disappear like there's no tomorrow All of my brothers out there. That's right And you know what? If you think that the .30-06, I always love it when these goofs do this, well that's an obsolete rifle cartridge. Well, I can think of about 10 to 12 million people dead with that obsolete rifle cartridge. Going all the way back to World War I, World War II, Korea, and don't forget the .06 was not retired in Vietnam. It was still being used heavily in Vietnam. Now remember that guys? So tell me all about how this is an obsolete cartridge. You get hit with a 160, 170, 180, and my favorite is a 200 grain out of the Onaut 6. You're going to lose some velocity, but it's a freight train coming at you when it hits. See how that works? Plus, it's got lots of energy to get through those outer layers to get to the soft, chewy stuff inside. So our main battle rifle cartridges do a fine job. Now I am NOT deriding whatever else you have. I am pointing out both advantages and limitations. No, it's not designed to be an assault rifle. An MBR is designed with a different theorem in mind. The M16 family, the AK family, are assault rifles if they have select fire. Otherwise, if they're semi-auto, they're carbines. Yep. I don't have a problem with carbines. I've carried M1 carbines, I've carried AK-47s, and I've carried SKS. In fact, I carried an AK for more than I carried the standard rifle I was trained to use in M14. I carried with operations, I carried an AK-47 that was issued to me. Two years down the road I finally got hold of an M16 that I was using for a period of time. And that was a hydromatic, beautiful rifle. I could never complain that thing never malfunctioned, but it's because it was tired. It was really sloppy. It worked really well. And it was a beautiful firearm otherwise, and deadly accurate. I will say that about the standard M16A1 rifle every day. As long as it was maintained, it would work fine. But it does require a lot more maintenance. Now, all of your weapons, and I'm going to say shame on you if somebody tells me, well, I've fired about 12,000 rounds for this thing, and I still haven't cleaned it. I'd have to say, well, you're going to risk your life on round number 12,000, 0001. When you pull the trigger and it doesn't work right? No, that's not going to happen either. So again, understand the limitations. 22, is you throwing me a 22? I'll use a 22. Whatever you throw me, I'm going to make work, and I will make it sing. That's the attitude we have to have. Now if I can get better, I'm gonna get better. If I have to make do, I'm gonna make do. And you're not gonna cry about it. The other side has got everybody into this weenie-winey like pansy kind of. If I can't have what I want. If I can't get the good food. If I can't get the, you know, shut up. You know, Depredation was something that used to be expected with the military. Now the idea of Depredation is I only have eight flavors of MREs and they told me I'd have 22. They only dropped off three or four cases of mixed variety flavors. What shall I do? And I ain't had a hot shower since yesterday. Yeah, you know. Can we get back in the truck now? Are we going back to the... Are we going back in the striker? You know, we don't have to say... I mean, I know better than that. It's not like that for everybody, but here's the problem. It's like that for a lot. and a lot of the soldiers you're going to be facing have seen far, far, far worse and yeah they're older so they aren't going to plan on seeing far, far worse than they did when they were 18 and 20 and 25 years old. They're going to make sure their stuff is squared away and they're going to be strapped and they're going to be ready to take you down because they don't want a monkey screw with you for very long. That's one of the things the bad guys on the other side don't seem to understand yet. It's not like the killing game is anything new. So anyway, the bad guys are coming and we know that we're going to be short in certain categories for people who are coming late. For a lot of you guys, now you're tweaking your system. So you need to decide. I know 7.62x54 has been spoken about a lot here. There's some really nice, moistened-and-naked sniper rifles out there. But guys, you can build your own. You don't have to wait for it to be a Russian model sniper rifle. OK, let's take real quick here. Don, we're going to get an M91, Moisene got, for about $60 at the gun show right now. We're going to go down to another table, or even to the same dealer if it's like Midwest, Midwest Sales, okay, they're located out in Detroit. They might even have the B-square scope mount sitting right there that you need. It doesn't require any tools, doesn't have to be tapped. It goes right on the rifle and then you pick the scope that you want. Now if you want to get a little fancier without modifying the rifle, I don't like chopping and chewing on things, okay? You can go down the roll here until you get to one of the guys that deals in surplus gear. And if he's got a lot of the World War II, Korean, Vietnam stuff, He's got a reproduction of the Laysan leather cheek weld piece, you know, cheek rest, for the M1D Sniper Rifle. Now guess what? It'll go on any stock. It'll fit on any rifle stock out there. So if you want to put a raised cheek piece on that Moisin Neigat for a few pennies, you get one of those leather reproductions. Don't get an original. You don't need an original. There's reproductions out there. Save the original for the collection. But you lace that onto the rifle, there's your cheek weld, brings your head up but comfortably to rest in front of that scope. Now I noticed I didn't say what scope to buy, guess what? You got to figure out what's comfortable for you and what you can find out there that's reasonably priced. Now you go over to the ammo dealer and you can buy yourself 440 rounds of ammunition or 880 rounds guys, would be a good idea as much as you can and then take about oh I would say 60 to 100 of those rounds to the range and you don't blast it you sit first obviously and you sight in the rifle with that ammunition and then after you've got it sighted in as quickly as possible without wasting ammo You then try to see how you can place that bullet at what ranges to determine the performance of that rifle Now you're talking down for about a hundred dollars a hundred and probably 110 the scopes gonna be the variable but between a hundred and hundred ten dollars you can build your own sniper rifle off the shelf and The cheaper that moisten they got is hey the happier you'll be so if you see one that looks icky on the outside But okay any inside I hear the music Yeah, that's right. Now, I think we have a caller down. Oh cool, who do we have? This is Tom, I called you guys this morning but this is a different question. I gotta, when you shoot, I'm screwed up or not. I get a very accurate gun, you shoot one shot then you gotta take like Casey now, whoa. rifle is it first of all what is it? It's a rifle, it doesn't have a name on it. Bolt action or semi-auto? Bolt action. Does it close does it cock on the closing stroke or opening or when it opens? Do you have to push it hard to lock the chamber? No, but it's loose bolt is. Could be bad headspace. Oh go ahead, I'm sorry, go ahead. But when you shoot, I can shoot a clay pigeon at 100 yards every time, but you've got to force out. Is it a Mauser action? Is it a Mauser system? Yep. You sure it's not a 1903 Springfield? Well, is it US or is it foreign? We should say right on the receiver. Let me get it. Well, okay, here's the thing. There are some South American Mausers that are made in 30 out of 6. But there aren't that many weapons that were actually made. There's a Matson that was made in a number of different calibers to include .36. And that was actually, the Matson was one of the last bolt-action rifles ever adopted by a military formation. Doesn't mean they still didn't use bolt-actions, but it was the last new design. Well, it just got numbers out of the mark. There's no name on it. Okay, but does it look like a K98 Mauser? I mean, come on, a Mauser action? Yeah, it looks like that. Two considerations, number one, chamber, that is the wrong bolt, the bolt was stuck in it and at least it's not blowing back on you. The other consideration is you have corrosion or oxidation in the chamber itself and there are some options here. Number one, you can try using what's called borbrate, follow the instructions. Okay. Now here's the thing, when you have to knock the brass back out, is it... Yeah, you gotta take them. Is the brass warped or is it jagged like a breeze like it's been hit with sandpaper? No, it just it looks normal. It's just expanded too much. I think I don't know what do that. Okay, but look at the side of the brass. You're gonna have to, it's hard to do over the radio. Hey, you stole a double spoon. Yeah, I know. Put it up next to the phone for me there. Oh yeah, it looks really bad. Oh, I'll tell you. You see, the problem is that in this case, there are only so many things that can be a problem. But first and foremost is look at the chamber to see if the chamber itself doesn't have some oxidation. If it does, that's a real problem. You're gonna have to always be doing maintenance on it. Otherwise, the rust hesitancy to blossom back out and be just the way it is. Once you have a chamber that's rusting, You're going to have to do constant maintenance on it. That doesn't mean you can't say that. Oh, there's no rust in it. There's no rust in it Mark. It may look to be. Keep that in mind. I'm just telling you. What happens is you get adhesion up around the throat of the case because that's where if there's corrosive ammunition that's been used in it, for instance. What will happen is it will work up around the throat of the cases which is in the chamber, that is counterpart in the chamber. It may have a little area there that is abrased right where the case seats now. If not, then it may also be oversized simply from where, depending on how old it is, because I can't see how tired the rifle is. Most of the .30-06 Mausers were made in the World War II and post-World War II period. A lot of the countries that came in and kind of sided with us both in World War I and World War II did use .30-06. So we'd have to look at the model, we'd have to identify the problem, but I first would go for checking for oxidation. clean it up again, use the bore brighten it if you want to. That's because it's the least expensive issue. Otherwise, if it is a headspace problem, now if you've got somebody who's friendly, I wouldn't drop it off with a gunsmith because then you've got all kinds of paperwork issues. But if you've got somebody who has a go, no-go gauge for 30-06, then they could actually check that to see whether or not there's a headspace problem and it could be expansion that you can't see that's creating the adhesion. So we need to find out figure out what's going on with that but anyway one of the options Lee is to your east and he actually does gunsmithing and He probably would have the headspace for both on six and four three oh eight. I'll have to check with him, okay? I'll tell you what up. I'll call you in at the o'clock. I'll take it apart. See you might have a name on the There should be a series of numbers or identifying signatures there that are, you know, depending on the country. Sometimes it was a contract rifle or an export rifle. It's very plain Jane. They intentionally left them blank so they could sell them to Felipe one day and auto the next. You know how that works? Yeah, because it got OT-597. Either or. Hmm, that sounds like an ID, just a regular ID number there. Okay, well... I'll take it out and- I'll take it out and- Tom, repeat the number again. OT5970 or- No, that's the item serial number. Okay, we don't need to hear that anymore. You should have waited on that one. We just don't need to have that information floating around, okay? Yeah. Okay. So, otherwise, you'd have to wait until somebody can actually look at it. But again, that's an armory issue. Any weapon that's in an inventory like that, That's what your armors are for ideally somebody who's done some gunsmithing could get take the time go through it look at it See what it is made it may be the problem and then come back accordingly The only other option is a distortion in the bolt which is causing the problem of the chambering and I have to look at the rifle to see that Okadoke. Ok, thanks Mark. You're welcome anyway Again, one of the basic rules with maintenance on weapons in general, first of all, and I should have brought this up before I'm done, one of the things that you should take great care in doing, if you're using corrosive or mildly corrosive ammo, hey by the way, let's see, the AK probably will be, the SKS will be, your Bison Nagat will be, your K98 will be, your 7mm Bowser will be, your 7.5 Swiss probably will be, so what you've got to do is when you're doing cleaning, the most common place where you have First of all, bore cleaner build up that we're able to sit as residue is right there with the end of the chamber seats or the edge of the case. Where that contact point is, you will have a build up if you're not careful, if you don't do proper maintenance, of materials that create oxidation, rust. It's the nature of the mercuric primer combined with the spent powders. It can be a number of other, depending on the type of powder used, a number of other reactions. could also be tracers. Remember, if you're firing tracer and you're firing the older style Mark I tracer, it traces from the case. If you're using the later traces, remember that they actually had a time set delay, but still you do get copper oxide and other problems with, depending on the filament, what it is that was used depending on the country as far as the trace goes. So you've got to do general cleaning, but you got to get down inside just because you can't see it doesn't mean it doesn't need maintenance. Okay? You want to get all that gunk and goop out of there that you put in there. Otherwise, it gravitates to those corners. creates oxidation, corners become rounded and start to get thicker Don. That's not a good thing. No, you're right. So we are at the top of the hour and I'll tell you what we're gonna do. We're probably gonna take off here in a second. But ladies and gentlemen, again, basic maintenance, P.O.L. petroleum oil and lubricant products also. Other people aren't thinking about that right now. You need extras for the people that show up and go, huh, I didn't think about that. We know it's gonna happen, it's not gonna be a surprise, just be ready for it. As always, God bless the Republic. Death to the new world order. We shall prevail, ladies and gentlemen, the Empire is on the run. But we are on the march both day and night. Who raw? Fix bandits, kick him down the road, give him a backpack full of Diebold machines, and we'll breathe free again, Don. Thank you. God bless your world. God bless your country.
