Summary
Mark Koernke discussed weapons preparedness and self-sufficiency on this morning broadcast, focusing on ammunition and equipment shortages due to currency devaluation and supply chain disruptions. He covered the 1911 pistol as an affordable and reliable option, ammunition reloading techniques using recycled rifle cases, and the importance of acquiring surplus military tools and cleaning kits while available. The show also addressed lead-based paint, water fluoridation, and government surveillance technology, before transitioning to detailed discussions on tool quality, maintenance skills, and the distinction between practice and professional training for weapon proficiency.

And I need all of you to stop what you're doing and listen. www.themicroeffectlive.com Do not be distracted by the beautiful celebrities. themicroeffectlive.com Welcome to the internet, my friend. How can I help you? Ooh, could that be email coming my way? You have 12. 100 messages. Well, welcome to America amigo. A figure walked him through the mist with a flintlock in his hand His clothes were torn and dirty as he stood there by my bed He took off his three-cornered hat and speaking low to me said We fought a revolution to secure our Liberty We wrote the Constitution as a shield from tyranny For future generations this legacy we gave in this the land of the free and home of the brave The freedoms we secured for you, we hoped you'd always keep. The tyrants labored endlessly while your parents were asleep. Your freedom's gone, your courage lost. You're no more than a slave. In this, the land of the free and home of the brave. You buy permits to travel and permits to own a gun. Permits to start a business or to build a place for one. On land that you believe you own, you pay a yearly rent. Although you have no voice in saying how the money's spent. Your children must attend a school that doesn't educate. And your Christian values can't be taught into the state. You read about the current news in a regulated press. And you pay a tax you do not owe to please the IRS. Your money is no longer made of silver nor of gold. You trade your wealth for paper so your life can be controlled. You pay for crimes that make our nation turn from God and shame. You've taken Satan's number. traded in your name. You've given government control to those who do you harm so they could burn down churches and seize the family farm and keep our country deep in debt. Put men of God in jail. Harash your fellow countrymen while corrupted courts prevail. Your public servants don't uphold the solemn oaths they've sworn. And your daughters visit doctors so their children will be born. Your leaders send artillery and guns to foreign shores and send your sons to slaughter fighting other people's wars. Can you regain the freedoms for which we fought and died? Or don't you have the courage or the faith to stand with pride? And are there no more values for which you will fight to save? Or do you wish your children to live in fear and be a slave? O sons of the Republic, arise, take a stand, defend the Constitution, the Supreme Law of the land. Preserve our great Republican, each God given right. And pray to God to torture freedom as I awoke he vanished in the midst for once he came. His words were true, we are free, but we have ourselves to blame. For even now as tyrants trampled each God given right, we only watch and tremble, too afraid to stand and fight. If he stood by your bedside in a dream while you were asleep and wondered what remains of the freedoms he'd fought to keep, What would be your answer if he called out from the grave? Hey buddy, just what you see on the shelf. Just what you see on the shelf. Well, that and a whole lot more. And again, 1911, 1911 long slide with laser sights. We don't have a laser sight, but we got an eyeball to line that pistol up just fine. So equal opportunity, coercive force, in a situation where somebody is stupid enough to cause problems for you, well, the idea is that you neutralize the problem. That's a term a lot of different views. Neutralize the problem. To do that, you've got to have, and again, there's a lot of different things that are going on right now with ammunition and equipment. It's catch as catch can with the industry guys, and we're hearing about this, we kind of discussed this last night in our last hour, about the idea that the wholesale system is starting to have little chunks and chinks and parts missing and stuff that's not showing up. But this is true in general. This is what we're seeing in ammunition, in weapons, in magazines, in equipment. There's a lot of hazard. There's people that have been put completely out of business and there's nobody filling in or keep up with production. Beware, you might get what you ask for. You don't have the ability to even pick up the production that you need for your own people, let alone the idea that you're going to expand on the market because one of your little butt buddies has helped to run people out of business. This is kind of what was described in Ann Rand's All the Rain Knockers, everybody else under through regulation and taxation. And what happened in that socialist system is that progressively less and less was available. Now at first it wasn't felt right away except that certain little things just didn't showing up. They weren't there, they didn't have them. Progressively it got worse to the point where it's just simply there is none. Of course that comment was made several times by people who were trying to drive the point home. There is none. Well ammunition and accoutrements equipment. It's the same thing guys, specialized field. You've taken for granted the idea that I can run out and pick up L'Aze Spley. Really? Can you? Remember that a lot of the stores that you're dealing with, here's the best example, a lot of the stores that you're dealing with right now, we have Meyers Shifty Acres, you've got Wally World, whatever. What they have on the shelf is typically their Now here's the fun part. They may have, oh no, we got stuff in the back room. Yep. They have what's left of the case that they couldn't put up on the shelf. You know, another four boxes or another box maybe of ammunition. So yeah, it looks really impressive. Okay, go in and experiment a little bit. Get some people together. Here's what's fun. Go in there and clean off the shelf of a certain caliber. And the next day, later in that day, if they restock, which probably won't happen, it's gonna happen at night. Go in there and clear them out again and see how long it takes for them to replace what they sold. that fund, I'll guarantee we're watching this happen in the Meyers right now. Whole categories of stuff have been sold out and there is nothing to replace it with. Yes, it's by design, it's intentional, but a part of it is the other half, you see from the wholesale and the job are in, that stuff is simply not being made available. From the retail end, it is not being replaced. Again, there are substitutes, but there's no substitution being there's a systematic extermination of the material. Now that doesn't mean that your hardware is doing that because it's not. And that doesn't mean that your regular store that's local, that is a little guy that's a combination grocery store and hardware and you know whatever, you know dry goods, they're not doing it intentionally. They're stuck with a situation where there's only so much out there and now you have to hunt out, hunt down the pockets that are left. And progressively as this stuff dries up, That's it. You're done. There won't be any more from that particular outlet. Now, I would say this. If they have sales or something, take advantage of the sales and grab it and get it off the shelf while you can. If they have close outs, understand what that means. You see the word close out. That means you might not see it ever again. That's right. That means they're not bringing it back. With that in mind, start inventorying what you need. Take a look at something. In fact, take a look at this way. If this stuff's cheap enough, remember, bar to trade or exchange. to trade it off with people who have the same interest in that caliber and exchange for something that is useful to you in your caliber. We are going to have to start thinking this way. It is not the 90's, it is not the 80's, not the 70's and it sure as hell ain't the earlier part of the history of America because pretty much everybody used to be armed. Now of course you have a whole bunch of conditioned, disarmed peasants and slaves. That is another problem but who cares, they are off to the side. They may gnash of teeth and demand, demand, demand, but that will make it... Now otherwise, with regard to calibers, and again that 1911 is a good example, there are a lot of substitutions for that caliber. And since we are looking at the handgun today, there's a lot of decent little pistols out there that are not expensive. Even the 1911 by comparison guys is actually quite reasonable when you look at all the other CINTA guns that are costing so much. You know, in fact, I'm going to give you an example here, I can do some pricing for you. You can pick up a standard 1911. This is just retail cars. We're talking like over the counter, okay, if you gotta spend the money on it, you gotta spend the money on it. But you're talking, instead of the nylon toys, or 500, $600, whatever. Now the SIGs have come down a little bit if you look for used, and you will find some SIG knockoffs, and you'll find some Browning high power knockoffs that are out. And they're not too badly priced. They're about comparable to the 45. But for about $349 to $369 you can get a standard $100 you can get something with a lot of window dressing. A lot of cool stuff on it. Not just window dressing but actually features that if you're looking for a little more of a competition, combat shooter then you've got it. But the straight 1911s reasonably priced, they're all steel. Remember this, one cool thing about the 1911, if you got one you got them all. If I need a part off of 1911 and I've got another derelict sitting there that's been smacked, busted, bent, whatever, part that I need is still serviceable, guess what? Doesn't make any difference for a model. Pretty much it's going to trade off onto the next 1911 A1 or 1911. Now that's pretty cool. And by the way, there's a hundred years worth of them laying around. There's a whole lot of them out there to choose from. It's pretty much become the king of the battlefield with regard to availability and also price. One of the other reasons it sticks around is because the thing many others moves in on you. Beat the snot out of somebody with a .45. It's not going to come apart. Yeah, a Glock may be a different story. Nice Glocks are nice. They're cute. We like them. You got one. Don't sell it. Buy a .45 too. Get whatever you want. But remember that when you're close quarters, your handgun may have to be a club. If it has to, you work as a club because you may not necessarily want to when somebody because they're, you know, active. it still works nicely as a club but when you're done using it as a club it still works well as a pistol. Pop, pop, pop, pop. And this is something that people have learned through direct experience and again a hundred years worth of service. So think that way when you're looking at weapons that you're thinking about long-term use for. Those mags are available, they're cheap, buy lots of them. You'll say you've got a bunch of old 30-06 301-ation that you've spent and it's tired. It's got a cracked shoulder, as long as there's no split in the base Guess what? You know what you can do? You can cut down that rifle shell to a .45 ACP. Take a bullet reamer, remount the inside of that case, because rifle cases at the base are thicker than they are at the top. You may not have noticed that, but if you cut one lengthwise, you'll find this is true. So you got to use a reamer, and you ream it out, and lo and behold, guess what you got? You've got yourself a .45 case, and guess what? It'll go right into that pistol all day, and Mac, it'll be stronger, tougher, and it can be reloaded more, because it's a rifle case. It's heavier, it's thicker, it's tougher. So the nice thing is that you got something you can pull on the range or use for utility work in and again and again. So that's not a bad thing. Again, the .45 bullets will work just as well as that again if you have to cast them on a lead, you have to cast them out of aluminum with a steel penetrator. You need to make them out of copper. However, you've got to use that .45 will eat it. Just standard bullet and you just got to figure out how to pump your local tire in fact. the number of the tire people, you know, around your town. And they discard the old lead tire weights that just clip onto the rim. Even the flapping weights for custom wheels, they discard them. Today they might be getting a little more stingy, but you might come across somebody who will give you, who will give you. Yee-haw! That's one of my favorite words. It's free. If you can find that lead for free, you know, free. It's the root word of freedom. Again, it's one of my favorite words. a little sub note on that. Were your grandpa and grandma crazy when you were growing up in dementia in old age? Did they seem to function pretty well? Sure. Seem to be able to do their math? Yep. Talk to you pretty plain? Uh huh. They lived in the age of lead. Anybody think this through? Okay, you can't drink on the lead pipes. It's bad for you. Well, of course, lead pipes are pretty old old. That's way back. But think about this. My great grandpa in trade work lived in the 90s. My grandfather lived into his 90s. My father is 86 on 87. Let's do some math on this. All of these men all lived in the age of lead. Not only did they live in the age of lead, guys, but I mean lead as in lead in the copper, for the copper solder. Remember you used to have actual lead. Every aspect of what they did, they were in tool and die. They were tradesmen. My great grandfather was a tin knocker where he did tinning. the many jobs that he did. He was a cobbler at one time, but he did tinning and he actually, you led tin, you know, you led the tin together, just like you do copper. You led the copper together. And it wasn't fake lead, Don. It wasn't like a lead substitute, it was lead lead. And by the way, they had lead pipes back then, literally. They had lead in everything you can think of. And don't forget lead paint. Oh my goodness, on every wall and from the ceiling. And it was, oh my god, the lead surrounded them. And yet, amazingly enough, they lived to what age? You've got to start wondering about what a lot of these goofs have come up with. But on the other hand, I will point this out, and this is not strange. The attack on lead and lead in the environment, satellite spy technology was being plugged in, and they knew that the lead in the paint, this is a little off from our weapons Wednesday thing, but it's not. I was up north over the bridge in Wisconsin News. Out of the blue, they had this really goofy piece in the middle of the news article where it showed this house. It was a nice, tri-level house. The residents of this house were sighted today because they painted their house with lead. And, you know, the woods and violations and blah blah blah blah, they went through this whole story. And my point was, when I asked her, I said, guys, how did they know that that was a lead paint used on the house? You want to know how? Ask yourself a basic question. How did they know that they were using a lead-based paint on that house? Can you tell the difference driving by between one and the other? Do you know that you have rooms? If you go to an old house, here's a kicker. You go into an old house that's say 100 years old and they haven't done anything but put wallpaper over the old paint walls. You know how much lead is layered on that wall? I wish to a degree, I couldn't help it because I had to redo all the plaster in the house here so we pulled it all out when we first got the house. The paint on the wall came off in lead-based paint, lead-based paint connected to lead-based paint, and God knows how many years. But the point is this, you sit around this stuff all the time and you didn't explode. I noticed your eyeballs haven't sucked into your head and your ears aren't foaming with blood. But you have to ask the basic question, how did they know that that house, Don, covered with lead paint? Perhaps because they couldn't feed into it. There you go. because somebody was scanning with technology and yes that's exactly it guys. The bottom line is, but it was interesting, out of the blue in the middle of nowhere they had this blurb that was on the news and it was on the 6 o'clock news. Like this was earth shattering. Oh, lead paint! Now personally I like lead paint and I prefer using, in fact, the outer part of this house has still got a couple layers of lead paint on it. Making up lead based paint isn't too hard to do. Actually, it can still be done today painting the house. But the point is, the only people that were worried about it, they did a whole propaganda BS line on lead-based paint because if you're going to spy on the population, both from above and from the ground, the last thing you want is for virtually every house to be shielded, both with a panel inside outside to include, remember, lead above you. Oh my goodness, remember you do paint your ceilings in your house, don't you? Yup. Like around you, completely around you, was a barrier to reduce the ability of their see-through things. Now, we've seen the technology, we've actually seen it and hunted it. They know they're not supposed to be stored all together, but the point is that this technology does exist, but here's an example of how permeated things are, how they do it through controlled media and all of the BS that's generated by different hack licensing and are given pats on the head by government. That's how it works. You don't get your doggy treat if you don't lie in whatever way. Now there are other variations on this. Let's go the other extreme. Everybody knows this out. Oh, what's that fluoride in the water? Now on the one hand, most people didn't care or worry too much about lead. On the other hand, fluoride, which is a byproduct of the aluminum process, and by the way, is scratch. would know not to stick their arms into stuff like that. Think about that. All day and not think twice about it, but know full well that the fluoride and other products like that, knowing the industry and understanding chemistry, would know that you don't ingest this stuff. Except that then they turned around and did what? Have you ever seen how fluoride is handled at a plant, guys? Full body suits, body suits, face masks and breathing units? Can't touch that. As thick as anything, you know in other words, industrial grade handling equipment. the mass of saturation the body would rebel and you be well x's over the eyes legs in the air and yeah you're done okay interesting thing is we we drink well water don you drinking well water to our job I am well that's probably the problem with all of us were just a little crazy head because we have been properly conditioned through the goofiness of the waters but they want to put for a distribution unit all pumps it mandatory by law does anybody remember that right next to the well meters they wanted to get a poor fool Yes, that will be the last answer to worry about that nonsense. Well again, just pointing out things of lead, and again I just had to bring it up because it's one of those subjects we touch on every once in a while. Again, how did they know that that guy had lead-based paint on his house? What, somebody go up and lick it? I don't think so. Yes, exactly. That's the other kicker on that too, is when you think about it. Did somebody come up and do some kind of spectral scan? And if they were, why were they doing a spectral scan on each of the houses? Why were they doing any kind of scanning on everybody's house in the neighborhood or so many houses or from above? Do you see the problem with that? That's an example of these nutcase. They perceive the American people to be the enemy. And let 20 million illegal aliens come feel comfortable about the illegals. Washington and sleeping in bed with all of the above. While perceiving the American to be the enemy. Why Shazam, Sergeant Carter? Which is why you need more weapons, because you know what? I'll tell you what, let's just be safe. They are our enemy. In general terms, in that you've got a whole bunch of nutcases who think they want to create a bigger and bigger police state, we're going to have to protect ourselves from them. We also have to have decent tools and technology to square things away. And this is Weapons Wednesday for that reason, because you've got to protect yourself from the criminals. Criminals gravitate to bad government, and on occasion we've had to make sure that bad government's cleaned up. Ask the founding fathers, 1775 guys, that's when it started. But also at other times just to remind them that we have the ability to defend and protect ourselves when the time comes and that's critical too. Also, leaving too many situations where the other criminals that haven't been put in uniform yet are the ones coming down the street to take what you own. You got the criminals to the left that haven't got the uniform on yet and you got the criminals to the right wearing the funny black uniforms and the ski mask to think that everything you own belongs to them. Wait a minute. Don, the group on the left thinks the same way. So maybe we're just going to have to deal with the problem in general. Now, other issues. High powered rifle calibers. One of the things to think about is, again, if all else fails, something that's reasonably priced. I was going through the price list and the yes, everybody's been commenting on this too. Oh, prices all jumped on the weapons to a degree. Not all, but on the, we're the affordable weapons, they've started to creep up. Now there is a reason for that. You got to remember that your the value of your currency is halved. What's happening overseas is if anybody is finding any scrap, or I won't say scrap, but any weapons laying around, any excess from another country, any debris of any kind, the problem is even the stuff that's junk and scrap and cheap that was for parts have now doubled in cost because of the devaluation of the American dollar. So the days of the 10 cent items and 25 cent items like we told everybody, grab them while you can. Those days have come to an end and now it's kind of like where we used to have five and dimes. We now have even the dollar stores, the media, the dollar stores are raising their prices, Mark, for the sell particular portion of their wares. If they don't raise their prices, here's what you'll all see is they've already taken place. Everything will be halved, which is why again, you need to be taking a look at. Now give me an example of canned meats. A lot of the other products are that are on the dollar store shelf right now. You'll notice that as they have disappeared, they not been replaced. On the 1st of April, 1954, a federal man sent word he'd better make his run no more. He said 200-age of a- Well, I'm not exactly certain of the title of that particular ditty, but I know that this is the intelligence report and it's being brought to you in this hour by the Micro Effect Broadcast Network. You know, that guy would probably go faster if he put alcohol in the gas tank, re-jetted the and bumped up to come probably go faster than on gasoline. Maybe that's what he was running, Mark. And he went over the cliff portion of the day for a bicycle. Even a bicycle is a simple machine, isn't it? There's leverage involved. There's transfer of motion. There's these devices as a means to get you to a battle. A means to move you from that to a different place where you are needed. And you see the involvement in the machinery and why we talk about machines. Now while I'm on that subject of machines, if you have a friend who's a machinist who works in a machine shop, ask him if he can come across some of the machinists. Now machine, I'm going to reach right up here, Mark, and I couple of them around. Here's a machinist stone I have in my hand. It's like three quarters of an inch wide. It's like inches long. I think this was like 400 grit. You can sharpen your knife and draw, much like you've said, Mark, or described. backwoods people or people, you know, just come crawling out of the jungle, take a hunk of metal and carve on it and wounds across it and other things. Well, they've got a gun, even if it's just a single-shot gun. You guys, you can go back in, oh, the National Geographic, 1980, and you'll find a young man hand-building .50 caliber barrel. And the text mark says it takes about a month. It goes over to even this simple stone, even this simple machinist stone, with such a help. and you can get them in whole bunches of grip. And you know, this is the basis here. I can well imagine the first knife that was, or even let's go farther back. Imagine a caveman hitting the edge of a bone, a tip of a bone, was sharp. He was ready for that saber-toothed tiger, wasn't he? Let's move up in the scale of tool a little bit here. You know, you used to see on television, perhaps on Sunday mornings or maybe, you know, at one o'clock in the morning, the advertisement for the little tool that would take a broken drill bit, a workable edge on it, sharpen it. Now, you know and I know, Mark, that it takes quite a hand to sharpen a drill bit on a little, you know, three-quarter horsepower wheel sitting there on the bench with the grinder stone on it. That takes quite a hand to do that. Imagine doing that on a stone that's not even moving. going to take. You've tried to reinforce over the years and I say it again, while you were gone I took great delight in bringing your words to the hour. But when we talk about tools many times, we're talking about the tools that you need, tools that you need, the machinery. The machinery that you need. You ever tried building a gun out of a piece of stone or using a piece of stone as your main tool? I'd say I rest my case, but we can continue this right on up. How about taps and dies you guys? Maybe you broke that drill bit off in something you were trying to repair. Maybe it's the last one known in this state and it needs to be somewhere. You know, once you get that bit out, you're going to need taps and dies. In particular, taps to clean chase those threats, aren't you? And again, it's, as you've said many, many times, Mark, it's the dinky little things that help the big things run. And it's the dinky little things that'll trip you up if you don't have them. Again, with all the little tidbit trinkets There are certain tools that were made surplus because certain weapon systems have become surplus. Why reinvent the wheel? Something that was made for a certain weapon system or a certain rifle or a certain shotgun or a certain pistol, it would behoove you to pick up all of those accoutrements that were made for the weapon now. There are moist and niggants out there. You don't have to figure out how to carry the ammo. They make mag pouches that were available in the inventory. So you've got mag pouches. They are available in 30 calibers. You can make a pipe out there and they are very, very fish-eld. And buy maybe two or three of them of the same model because your cleaning kits will wear out if you are using them right and you lose parts. Well why guess when you know if you had to go out and buy something that is made out of steel. I mean there are some of these kits that have an onboard oiler. They've got the pull jag for pulling the cleaning rindings brushes through. They've got a disassembled rod. They've got all kinds of cool stuff. The tips, the brushes, the chamber brushes. And all designed to fit into certain little containers and carriers. Well, it was designed to meet the soldiers needs. But the cool thing is, the quality of the material is what's critical. The quality of this, you wouldn't build it today. It's not being built today. Why? Because it costs money. So, take advantage of stuff like that because it's surplus. AK cleaning kits, SKS cleaning kits, there's a bunch of stuff out there right now from Eastern Europe. Now, Eastern Europe wasn't top of the line at the time, but they made good stuff. However, because of the quality of the Chinese junk coming in, which is low, this now puts most of the European stuff up in a totally different category. One thing about the Eastern European slash Warsaw Pact equipment is that At the very least, they maintain their metallurgy. They actually have pretty good pride each nation in their own production. Seek those out, look for those. Also, the little tool kits. There's all kinds of armorers tools and components that support your weapons. By the way, I will come back to the 1911, the 45. There's a whole bunch of tools out there for the 45. Oh yes. That are just handy to have. And while you can afford them, and while they are affordable and accessible, now's the time to pick them up. Let me give you a couple of ideas here. We've mentioned before, mainmilitary.com. They've got all kinds of cool stuff off the shelf. Again, we're looking for ideas. We're not just complaining about the problems. We're looking for solutions. They've got cleaning kits you can buy by the dozen right now. For those of you in the Midwest, there are center fire systems out of Kentucky. They're not the only ones, but we always let you know where to look. Centerfire systems 1-800-950-1231 Centerfiresystems.com 1-800-950-1231 They've got cleaning kits, they've got tool kits, they've got all kinds of stuff for different systems. The support items that you need. Now another place to go, which has a mix of stuff, but it's west of the Mississippi so it's a little closer. For all you guys out in the mountain states, I have a problem with shipping. Epicenter.com Epicenter.com. One more time, Epicenter, like being at the Epicenter of an explosion. Epicenter.com. They're a pretty reliable company. I've had a certain, I've seen no complaints and we've had good results with them. So they're an option and a direction to go. But the tools are critical. Even just conventional tool kits, utility tool kits, take in mind that combination to all of the different exotic pieces of equipment you might run into later. I mean there's not just straight blade and Phillips. How many other different types of keepers or head systems are there, Don? Oh, gee, I can't count them. You've got star, you've got knuckle, you've got square. All of those need to be part of your inventory in some form. And there's a lot of places where you can find the tools, especially traditional tools. As we mentioned yesterday, there's companies all across the country that deal in older technologies, are desirable technologies that are useful. that you need. They don't run off a whole lot of power. In fact, they're designed to run off people power. You pick up the tool, you turn the screwdriver, and it works. Oh my goodness, like a Puchar. Do you mean it's not a power screwdriver? No, it's not a power screwdriver. It's just going to be a manual thing, but the quality of the metal, quality of the tools is what counts because they'll last longer. In many cases, they'll last your lifetime, pass them down to the next generation, which is what we want to do. Also, technology that doesn't make sure you go where you want to go guys. That's what you want to be looking at. Again, it's user friendly. Those simple tools can help to maintain a simple machine. Hot water, you still have heat when other people do not. When you talk about screwdrivers, Mark, you can open up a toolbox, one drawer, and it's full of screwdrivers. And you can open all the hex drive and all different types of heads. Open up another drawer and there's another drawer or screwdriver. Good portion lead, different types of drives. You guys, screwdriver out there, you can get a from China now. The first one I saw was like 25 years ago from Snap-On. It was a hex head drive and you could interchange the bits. Now guess what? You're carrying one screwdriver with fastener heads in it and you can get the fastener heads, cute little open up hard cases, almost like a dinky little gun case. You open it up and there's 27 different fastener heads in there. I'll tell you where that really came in handy Don is having worked in the trades. You know, if you're in the middle of a cross in a tunnel, have so many tools you can take with you. Let's say you crawl in the first time and if I brought, fill in the blank, I could fix some. Between about four tools with a multi-head screwdriver like that, by the way, don't forget this, not only does the screwdriver, do the hex units work, you hold the screwdriver, in place, be it the slot or the Phillips type head in place. But I think that's a 516's drive. That's right. The whole idea was that the drive itself, the original ones, now a lot of them have gone away from that, but the originals were designed to fix your out. You actually were able to print Titan hose clamps with a hex system though. It was very intelligent. So if you're down in a crawl space and you're literally stretched out where you had to worm your way into the place and now you're going, man, if I had to have brought this, I'd have been able to do this. You've got everything right there for a number of different options short of the ID. You might have to bring in some major tools. The same thing is true if you're up on that 24-foot ladder that you've improvised on scaffolding over, and trust me, I've done this, over a stairwell column. Anybody ever thought about how you have to change light bulbs or change light fixtures at the top of one of those phenomenal stairwells that has that light fixture? You get up there, it gets a little wobbly. You go up once and you take with need with you and you bring it back. So there are real good applications where these multi-tools now, they're called armorers tools and such, are such that they're designed to fit certain types of sticks and niches exist on weapons. They make multi-tools for those now. You're an armorer and you're in the field for the same reason, okay, I'm not back at the bench, I've got a weapon here I can break down and I know what I need to fix, but I need this screwdriver, I need this widget, multi-tools for that purpose now, Don. Oh yes. They make one for the AR-15, they make one for the AK-47, they make one for shotgun family of weapons. So it behooves you to look around a little bit, see who might have those in inventory. And if you're the person responsible for a number of weapons, if you're on the range, it's kind of nice to be able to bump things up or adjust it accordingly without doing a whole lot of other motion in the process and putting it right back online. When you speak of multi-tools, Mark, that one tool, just jumps to my mind. Everybody's seen it. Seen the cheap Chinese knockoffs of the Leatherman. And you know, I repeat again, I've never met a Chinaman who has any respect for an American patent. Any of the burying down to about two inches, what you do with such a dinky, well, you could probably figure out something to do with a dinky little tool like that. It would do it slowly, but at least it would do it. Yeah, such a fine area. Again, you know, when you get down to dinky little fasteners like that, I don't know if I'd want to grab them even with a fine little tip. You have enough problems. When you look at things like adjustable vise grip, adjustable and it doesn't allow the edges, it tends the edges, doesn't it? It leads over to that standard phrase for the right job. He looked around for that good stone, don't sharpen bone well. The right job. On that note also, the dollar store has some multi-screwdrivers like that right now that have about all 12 or 13 widgets that come with it. I think probably you've already experienced this, but you know what? I noticed something. The quality of the machining finish was great. Crisp, everything perfect. The problem, guys, they didn't temper any of the metal. So if you're going to try and do some major torque work with those screwdrivers, understand that those heads, well, basically pop metal. However, for a utility screwdriver for the house, they're okay. Thinking you're going to use those and jump into a vehicle like a rusty piece of equipment trying to take it apart, again you got to understand the quality standards involved. However, there are applications for it that is available like that for certain. Again, no tool. This is what I was talking about with a lot of surplus stuff that's out there. The surplus equipment was designed to keep people. Soldiers will come back and beat the snot out of you or might even kill you if you do something to really fluster their day, like try to get them killed. Even if it was crude, maintain a specific standard so the equipment would continue to function and the soldiers could continue to fight. This is one of the reasons I prefer trying to access a surplus in that category because it's designed to last for exotic metals that you normally wouldn't make them out of simply because the government contractor and the specifications required it. Their technology for specific applications, that's another important issue with their specifications, you guys. You know, manufacturers, they don't want to send things out with twisted out thread and whatnot. They don't want to twist out a thread on the production line. because well gee, that could kill frame or whatnot, any type of widget. So they run up to particular torque spec. Now as example, at 1911 you hear at the front, many of you might have seen it about two years ago running around. Well, if I got it out and showed it to you, it might have had a rubber band around the base of the pistol grip there. Because one of the little screws that holds on the grip cover And I was lucky enough that I looked around for it when it happened, Mark, and I talked with the manufacturer about getting another one. But Debbie cleaned off the China cabinet here and set the gun down there one day, and that is exactly where that screw fell out. But now, you know what? Many times you'll find that you run something to manufacturer's spec, or, you know, I don't think there's a manufacturer's spec, the 1811, there might be, but, you know, I've never seen it in print. You kind of run them up to handpipe. at things like that. People do particular things like years ago it was kind of fashionable to use nail polish to put on the screws when you put the screws on the rings for your gun. Well we found over time that nail polish becomes brittle and with the harmonics, the ring of the gun, the harmonics, the onesies that move through it, it would really shatter the nail polish and it would come out in powder and it wouldn't do its job. In a whole other arena, Mark, there are these guys, they get on those little ring motorcycles, little two-stroke things, and they do everything but go straight up walls with them. They press the envelope in the hill and whatnot. They take weather strips, the same stuff that you glue the weather strip down in your cars, around the doors and around the windows and the trunk lids. They have a different name for it, you guys. They call it Gorilla snot. Yellow GM weatherstrip cement, if you don't like that, how about the black GM or other manufacturers weatherstrip cement? The dinkiest little touch of that, the four screws on that 1911, you'll never look for them to come out. You put the right tool head to them and the right amount of pressure turned in the right way. You know, it takes a little bit of skill to drive a screwdriver. And if you know, if you're trying to understand that statement, put a Phillips head in at about 15 degrees off kilter. move that. You have to have that little bit of skill to look in and imagine the line of that screw fitting into the part, don't you? This is where when we talk about skills, you guys, even from the dinkiest little things, learning to drive a screwdriver up to learning to drive tax at a thousand plus yards takes training, doesn't it? It takes practice over and over. And you know, there are those, here comes another cliche, you know, those that say practice makes perfect. But you know what? Sometimes here to train Well, little mistake you're making there over and over. When you come here again, I don't want to see that. Because they practice while they're not here. They train while they're here. They have someone looking over them pointing out the dinkiest little mistakes. And here comes that cliche, you guys. They say practice makes perfect. I'll tell you perfect, practice. So many different areas. Who's on to hold that cover down that now the gun feels comfortable in the drive and taxi. I saw a little guy the other day on one of the morning shows, Karate. I don't know what's been training him. He flies around the nation to get particular training from other masters. And this guy, eight years old, is a champion in his age. How do you get there? By training. Again, I'll describe. I go out here in the field and I shoot 20 rounds through the 22 and 20 rounds through the... If I've got somebody leaning over me, tell them... you're doing this wrong or look at, I can see that when you hold the trigger you blink your sight or I can see that, think this little flinch, not in your body, in your elbows. I look at the guy and say, what? But he's looking at me and he's seeing the things that I cannot see. He's trying to drag me to a better place. So my performance, you point this out again, the difference between practicing and the difference between training. Even you can train, even with, look at it, look and say, well gee, I think Don, maybe if you try doing this a little different, to Elbow many times with things like Sun Sight Ranch or Thunder Ranch or any of the places you can go. Many of the people who run through the training camps so to speak, they come out, they shoot better than the average cop. That's a matter and I do this to point out the difference between. Developed skill is the important thing. That's one of the things we're looking at here and again with our arms we must be proficient.
