Summary
Mark Koernke discussed militia preparedness and community defense, highlighting a recent incident in Iowa where residents organized to prevent government overreach. He interviewed Dave Moore from Spider Firearms about the Ferret 50 caliber upper receiver system, which allows AR-15 owners to convert their rifles to shoot .50 BMG ammunition. The conversation covered weapon specifications, accuracy capabilities (half-inch groups at 1,000 yards), alternative calibers (.510 DTC, .416 Barrett, .338 Lapua), reloading procedures and components, and practical applications for long-range defense and maritime use.

I had a dream the other night that, well, I didn't understand. A figure walked in through the mist with a flintlock in his hand. His clothes were torn and dirty as he stood there by my bed. He took off his three-cornered hat, and speaking low to me, he said, we've fought a revolution to secure our liberty. We wrote the Constitution as a shield from tyranny. For future generations, this legacy we gave. In this, the land of the free. in home of the brave. The freedoms we secured for you we hoped you'd always keep. The tyrants labored endlessly while your parents were asleep. Your freedom's gone, your courage lost, you're no more than a slave. In this, the land of the free, in home of the brave. You vie permits to travel and permits to own a gun. Permits to start a business or to build a place for one. On the land that you believe you own, you pay a yearly rent. Although you have no voice in saying how the money's spent, your children must attend a school that doesn't educate, and your Christian values can't be taught according to the state. You read about the current news in a regulated press, and you pay a tax you do not owe to please the IRS. Your money is no longer made of silver nor of gold. You trade your wealth for paper so your life can be controlled. You pay for crimes that make our nation turn from God and shame. You've taken Satan's number. You've traded in your name. You've given government control to those who do you harm so they could burn down churches and seize the family farm and keep our country deep in debt. Put men of God in jail. Harash your fellow countrymen while corrupted courts prevail. Your public servants don't uphold the solemn oaths they've sworn. and your daughters visit doctors. So their children will be born. Your leaders send artillery and guns to foreign shores and send your sons to slaughter fighting other people's wars. Can you regain the freedom for which we fought and died? Or don't you have the courage or the faith to stand with pride? And are there no more values for which you will fight to save? Or do you wish your children to live in fear and be a slave? Oh, sons of the Republic, arise. Take a stand. Defend the Constitution, the Supreme Law of the land. Preserve our great Republic and each God given right. And pray to God to keep the torch of freedom bright. As I awoke, he vanished in the mist for once he came. His words were true. We are not free, but we have ourselves to blame. For even now as tyrants trampled each God-given right, we only watched him tremble, too afraid to stand and fight. If he stood by your bedside and dream while you were asleep and wondered what remains of the freedoms he fought to keep, what would be your answer if he called out from the grave, dill the land of the free? on and behind the lines in occupied territories west, southwest, east, and central. Well, ladies and gentlemen, you are listening to us on We The People Radio Network, wtprn.com. That's We The People Radio Network, and also on Liberty Tree Radio dot 4 mg dot com on stations, CB base stations, and alternate technologies both east and west of the Mississippi along with Alaska. Well done today is a special day. Today is... Today's the middle of the week, you guys. 27 August, that means it's Wednesday. Lean your ear to hear that one drop in. That's a slide closed and the well-become full prepared to offer equal opportunity coercive force. So for anybody out there who seems to show up in a stupid manner, well, we're going to send them on their stupid little way. And again, with the situation for true people because a whole lot of you have seen the videos now or have been reports out of Iowa. congratulations to our friends in Iowa there who put back the female police and the people were going to go to the land sack houses while they what's that excuse for the technical history they're going to write up Oh checked for structural safety wasn't a tornado you're looking at just like usual wet ground routine but oh they just wanted to come in and go door to door and guess what everybody's already seen what they did in other Iowa towns and other parts of the country and so they put the brakes on it real quick Everybody got together and formed a militia. Security force, not a defense force, a militia. At the end of the driveway, it was actually all at the end of the blocks and also on the edge of the town. Here they were coming along. They were going to do the old bully bad butt routine. And guess what? They decided it wasn't a good day because they weren't going to be kicking around 90-year-old women that were about, say, 82 pounds soaking wet. They're going to have to deal with, that's right, prepared. and free people because they own their land. The government doesn't own it, the king doesn't own it, the Esquire doesn't own it, they would like to, they're trying to steal every acre they can. But we're going to have to shoot them out of this country again anyway, so get ready to deal with the Imperials when the time comes, be prepared, that's what Weapons Wednesday is all about, to defend ourselves from the parasites. parasites. Typically, if we're lucky, we have good government, we'd be kept in the alleys and down in the back streets and usually out of sight slink around. Unfortunately, they gravitate to uniforms and to positions of power. And then we have all kinds of problems, which is what we're seeing right now with everybody lamenting about the corruption in government. You know what it is? It's lack of fear of the people. When they have lack of fear of the people thinking and get away with murder get away with theft get away with rape Get away with stealing get away with beating on the family. Well, they go to right. They just go to town people and That's gonna have to be put a stop period Oh, they can puff up in certain spots and their little tactical actions for the moment. They're gonna get away with but here's the problem Everybody's paying attention and we know we're going to be naming names. It's all what you did and You ever forget it out there? You think you're hiding in a vacuum now? Everybody's awake. Now America knows there's a problem. They can see by all the flim-flam BS what's going on with the election people. Of course, the nonsense there. The idea they put in place, the agenda is still going to be the same. So be ready to defend yourself. Gentlemen, defend yourself. Remember that line from the C. We were soldiers, and at bayonet length. And they did. And they had to. Well, gentlemen, we're in the same situation. They don't have to worry about running to find the enemy. parasites coming to come and come into the country and has been allowed through the gates so uh... it's your job clean out run down the alley chase around just about run them back to a quarter they should often go chase down some more until everything behind the wire is clean again that's what's going on we need to be at what we need to be arming with a family of weapons and uh... uh... just have our engineer and i don't have to do anything stranger four zero seven 957-3617, if our engineer could please call him up on here, that would be great. I didn't get a chance to adjust before the program, I should have. Forgive him. 07957-3617 is Spider Firearms number, by the way, so I can give it out. But hopefully, Dave's waiting for the call, so if you could give him a ring, we'll bring him up with us on the air today, because I want to touch on the 50 again. And that is a critical issue because the 50 covers or is an umbrella weapon that deals with a very specific niche to defense weapons and fire parting with long range and working all the way down to the bayonet. Of course you hope that if all your weapon systems work properly you're not having to go that far. But you know, let's assume the worst we won't be disappointed. Keep our bandit oiled and sharp. Everybody's got a little bit of a risk for that. Number one, we are going to make sure we conform to the And one of them is that you have to have a martial arm. The martial arm includes identifying it but it has a bayonet log. Why do you think they wanted all the bayonet logs to cut off everything when they did the assault weapons? Mark, and you're out there with your sporterized AK or your sporterized SKS. You summarily shoot you when you are captured and combatant. And that's one of the reasons, and again, let me ask you the basic question we've always asked. What was the last time you heard about bayonet charge between drug lords in some neighborhood? Yeah. Anybody? A bayonet? Yeah, that's right. The whole idea behind it, it had nothing to do with crime. Everything to do with attacking the legitimate possession of arms to defend. It's one of the things that we're looking at here right now. You all are going to have to pay attention. And one more time, by the way, for spider firearms. Dave, Dave Firearms, and his website is W. If Dan could give Dave a call, 407-957-3617 is the number he's expecting us to call if we can give him a ring. And of course, that's just a reminder because the reason I'm doing this is because he's busy in the shop too, so he may not have called because, well, he runs the big factory, as they say. Just sending out on the CNC machine. That's right. Comes from pinpoint to an E, you know, song. You play that in a factory and it's like, man, this thing fits. He actually will sell a lot. He makes a lower in an upper. But the upper is designed to drop right out of an AR-15. One of the advantages of this is battle weight cut down when it comes to carrying things in the field. If you look at a combined arms team guys if you look at a fire team or a squad in each fire team Typically you put some form of heavy weapon in place to use as a supporter now it can also be a weapon for neutralizing larger vehicle the Russians are heavy with the RPG 7 but before they had the RPG 7 they had the RPG 2 and Before they had the RPG 2 guess what else was in the inventory? There are 50-51. That's right They had 50 caliber bolt action rifles. In fact, if you go back through, you're really good. Not the plastic history books of World War II where they use the same pictures everybody has for the last 2,000 books. Go into the stuff where they've done work in depth. You will see pictures, usually this will be older stuff, but new stuff's all George Orwell books with minimal imagery because they want to follow your mind in a certain way. You'll see where the Germans captured stacks of these 50 caliber bolt action rifles. They will shot rifles. The reason is that the Russians believed in full anti-tank capability from the individual fire team all the way up to the division in the core. That started with the individual utilizing the 50 caliber bolt action individual, you know, place shot weapons through to record any tank guns the whole nine yards. Of the 50, fire team were in the squad that wise would require indirect fire weapons which doesn't those down the road but for right now the 50 fills the niche for direct line of sight hard in placement or anti-vehicular use also for long-range placement for individual shooting to neutralize the other guy's critter you know the other guy that's carrying the special weapon system be it a tank weapon or an indirect fire weapon or whatever guys you can you can see him you can place the shot he will go down So the half inch gun serves its purpose in many ways, also for long-range events with regard to a defense in depth. I will repeat again, the average critter you're going to see running in the field, and by the way you're going to be in the same boat, is carrying 60, 70, up to 80 pounds of the nature of the infantry going into the field. Oh, they can pair off a few pounds, but you know what happens? Every time they pair off a few pounds in one direction, they usually find other technology to throw right back in the formula. But the more you leave at home, the more you become. You end up still wanting to carry the dishwasher, so to speak, and the ironing board and all nine yards. In other words, you're going to do some cleaning up. The thing is, if you're facing an infantry formation or any formation and people say, well, once you fire the first shot, they're going to know where you are. Well, okay, you place the weapon in such a way because you're going to command the battlefield. Learn to use both terrain and environment around and you move. But the point is this, placing around, putting around into a formation, 1200 yards and putting a target down. Everybody has to take cover and change their frame of mind. Tactical, you know, where it's final tactical, in 200 yards or 300 yards, a point of contact people, you have forced them to go to ground, start to maneuver, four, five, seven times. What that means is, what they were hoping to do later and burn their adrenaline and calories on, they're having to do clear in the conflict. while you are able to conserve energy. Now, Don, isn't that really helpful in hand-to-hand fighting? Oh yes, again, you know, you can defeat a nigger right behind him. So in this case, the idea is putting them to ground because they're not sure where the next round is coming from. It's going to cut somebody's arm off, chop them, you know, do whatever you can think of. You hit them, they go down, everybody else is worrying about being the next one. Now they have to go into basically overwatch and fire maneuver. When they do that, they're crawling, they're on the ground, or they're crouching over and they're also into the adrenaline rush earlier than they wanted to be. This is critical because there's also a down phase after that initial rush. You know, the body can keep pumping it in, but it doesn't do you a whole lot of good. Okay, in fact, the extra bit detrimental. We're gonna go to break here, we'll be back in a minute. Gold prices are at historic highs and with the recent pullback this is a great time to buy. With the value of the dollar, risks of inflation, geopolitical uncertainties and instability in world financial systems, I see gold going up much higher. How you doing, Dave? That's our product. Good afternoon, gentlemen. Well, I'll tell you what. We asked you to come up because we know that you've been busy and you are working even as we speak. You're there at the shop, I assume. Definitely. Definitely. All right. And again, you guys are most familiar with. Don's a .50 caliber shooter with some experience under his belt. Well, Brest, what's been going with the ferret? You're doing right now in the foot. All's been happening there. We've got production going. Sales have been up. I think people are anticipating that their rights are going to get attacked once again and there's a lot of people out there that just want to make sure that they've got what they need and get it, which I think is certainly a wise move from climate. Other than that, we've got a few things we're working on. I just built myself a new match gun, probably going to head up to Quantico, Virginia in October, shoot a match with the 50-caliber shooters association. So things are right on course. Things are good. Excellent. And that matches what weekend? Now you're asking me the hard questions. Uh oh. The calendar is not right there at the fingertips, I understand that sometimes. But it is coming up, so you can keep us abreast of that. Yeah, I believe it's the middle of the month, probably like the 17th, something like that. Here we go. I don't see it in the magazine yet. So, yeah, it's the middle of the month, I think 17th and 18th, something like that in October. So actually, that'll be the in-between weekend. That's just after Knob Creek. Knob Creek is 11th, 12th, and 13th, so... 10th 11th 12th area mark better get that right I'm better make sure of that one. What do you see guys? We start talking about dates? Great confusion for our listeners is not exactly the plan. Let's make sure here there we go 10th 11th and 12th I knew I corrected myself and I was right so anyway Real quick give everybody a review a lot of people out there listening have ar-15s I want you all to pay attention a lot of you have either just bought ar-15s Or you have an inventory of ar-15s that are part of your defense family now if they have an ar-15 What can you do for them? Well, what I can do is sell them a ferric 15. What this is is an upper assembly that replaces the upper on your AR 15 and allows you to shoot 50 caliber. Now this is a bolt action, three bolt, three lug bolts, very strong action, very accurate weapon. It's just a matter of pulling your two pins and replacing the upper and you're ready to go. We do a lot of custom work, barrels from 18 inch all the way to 36 inch and we even sell our own with an adjustable cheek rest and a monopod for those guys who like to shoot competition and would like a little more weight in the gun. So we take care of our customers. We are a production shop, but we also take in custom work. So if we get costistic in mind, we'll design that part and make it for them at a very reasonable price. We also handle customers that are very, very tall, very, very short. And we've even done some work for some handicap people. In our opinion, And this is our whole goal here. We feel everyone should have an affordable, accurate, first we deal with long range stuff. So that's where we focus with our customers. But these weapons are expensive. And I feel everyone should have something that they're proud of and that will certainly live a lot longer than them. We do give a lifetime warranty. We take care of all of our customers. And we're old support. uh... with the system set up the way that they are and this is critical because a lot of you guys out there listening but one thing about it you can't tell her the weapons designed to meet certain you know limitations of the wallet to so there was four people out there listening to you know i don't think i can afford or first of all i'm gonna recommend something and one you'll be amazed at the price which can actually pick up a pair of four and uh... there usually is kind of a nice arrangement if you've been listening to the program on correct Do we help out there, Dave? I'm sorry? I see there's a special arrangement of the mention of you're listening to the program that you know, yeah, might actually end up with a nice little package that's available for reasonable price, correct? Certainly, certainly. Our retail prices start at $2,145. And for your listeners, let me just grab my price sheet real quick. We do do a special discount. do is give you a discount of $100 off and that brings it to $2,045. We'll even throw in a plastic board guide. So when you clean your gun, you're not going to wear out your throat. Now the upper prices do start at $1,045 and they go up depending on options and barrels. Our complete weapons start around $3,000 and go up from there. And we're talking not a gun that's gonna shoot one MOA or a gun that's sometimes going to do what you want. This is a gun that you can take out of the box, scope on it, to match at a thousand yards. Half MOA at a thousand yards. We used Lothar-Walthar barrels. Yes, yes we can and we have. In fact, one gentleman who is one of Kenny's customers and pieces that Ken Johnson's made He ordered one from us, he said, we came to barrel and we said no problem. We get that done. We still believe in the customers, right? The customers says, hey, back in Nor barrel, Prager barrel, we're going to call them up. We're going to give them our external specs and work together to the customer gets exactly what they want. And then again, one of the things to remember here, a lot of guys that are carrying Looking at another caliber here and the cool thing about the AR-15, I mean there's a lot of limitations about design. We know where they could fix stuff, but the rifle works fine. As long as you do all the maintenance that's necessary, it's just that you've got to keep doing the maintenance. Well, the cool thing about the 50, putting the ferret on the roof of an AR-15 upper receiver guys, is when she's zeroed, she's zeroed. What you do, just like with an AR-15 upper receiver with a scope, you pop the pins, you disengage everything, you set it in the box, When you pull it back out of the box, Dave, it's ready to rock and roll, isn't it? Exactly. It's on mark, it's on the... in other words, if the same shooter, hang on to the low receiver, he is going to find same point of impact. This is a big advantage, especially when people are worried about field weight, being able to carry more than one weapon, and actually being able to put place rounds, like you said, out to 1,000 yards. And this weapon is capable of more than 1,000 yards. in the competitions, which again, the idea is you're training for maximum range. What's the outside bowl? What's the max distance they're pressing right now on the ranges? I'd say maximum distance. Well, we've got some guys that are shooting matches at 3,500 yards. That's about two miles. For the standard setup, we put a 30 MOA scope rail on all our guns, unless someone orders something. So basically, you're optically centered in your scope at 1,000 yards. It was like a night force of leopold. with 100 millimeters of elevation adjustment, it'll take you to about 2,100 yards without having to hold over. And there again, think about that, guys. In other words, if you have an understanding of your terrain, if you know how to pick the field, actually, guys, anybody ever done mule deer hunting? Anybody ever, after you've ever gone for, for instance, mountain goat? You're looking at having to pick your, you know, pick your placement. You're able to create a channel of fire, in other words, a lane of fire, to allow you to take advantage of an optimal location so that you command the area but you literally can sit and wait put accordingly and two thousand yards although we'll say with the average shooter we'll say one thousand yards or one thousand two hundred yards uh... engaging uh... a force in a situation like that puts them to ground that much faster, burns that many more calories. You're looking at a totally different battlefield experience with regard to what you're doing to the bad guys who might be causing the problems, especially when you're defending the country. We're looking at this as a national defense weapon system too, of course. So again, great potential. We got Dave Moore here. We'll be back in about three minutes. It's Weapons Wednesday right here on Liberty Tree Radio and we the people... Do you have a lawyer? Know what your lawyer should be doing. Now we've got Dave Moore with us from Ferret Fighter Arms. We're gonna go over into Calibre's different calibre that you offer. Before we reel 50, do you offer like what would be known in the industry like a match grade and a field grade chamber for your 50s? Yes we do. Our chrome moly barrels and basically it's a little tighter on the body. still has enough free board for military surplus ammunition and it shoots good, shoots real good. And then when we get into the super match stainless, that's when we have our sort of boutique chain. I always discuss with the customer what kind of ammunition so they get the right barrel for their combination. Now on these calibers, and we were talking about alternate calibers, you know, our fellow Americans in California had the unfortunate having the 50 PMG band cartridge that came out of France. back in 99 to get around their military 510 DTC. And they need to pick that up with EDM arms out of California, which they've since moved. Basically, it's shortened by about a hundred thousandths, so the shoulders are a little different angle. Straight into purpose is 510 DTC gun. Brothers in California have a 50 caliber with the same performance, same ballistics as the WMG. No dimension as the 50 BMG. It's the same volume, but we straighten the body out a little bit and sharpen your shoulder. So does it. It's wrong. It's internal volume. You can correct it. The other caliber, we do 416 Barrett, which is a smoking hot round. And it's a little bit superior to the 50 VMG, but your barrel life is drastically shortened, taking an overbore cartridge and making it even more overbore. It's a little tough on the throat. And our other favorite caliber is 338 Lapua. We do it in the same platform, so it is a heavy gun. But out of the box with, you know, I've been using the Black Hills ammunition, one inch group at 300 yards all day long until the barrel fouls. It's a tech driver, it really is. Now, as far as different configurations, one of the things about our upper assembly that sets us apart from everyone else is, one, I've designed it so the customer, if they want to tinker on it, they can. Everything's not case hardened because everything doesn't need to be. wants amounts of special mounts on it, they grab their drill and drill through it. Or they send it to me and say, hey, fix this up for me. We can stretch the handguard out. We can do a custom bipod, a rest, a support to set in a front bench rest. There's a whole lot of things we do. It's unlimited what we will do for our customer to give them the special weapon that they want. So there are ferrets that are running out there that are one of a kind, truly one of a kind. One of the things that we tie in here, again, I'm going to keep reinforcing this while you're here. The system we're talking about is a non-firearm. This is nothing more than an upper receiver. No restriction on it, is there? No, there's not. I contacted the ATF when I first got in business, the upper assembly, and they said, it doesn't have a serial number, we're not concerned about it. You know, if there was a robbery situation and someone just took up, ATF will not get involved. They're going to ship these right to your door, no SFL needed. You know, we do ask that you be honest and not order if you're a felon, but that's between you and God. So here again, we're looking at for a lot of you who are saying, well, I don't really want to do any more paperwork on another firearm, but you've already got AR-15s. Guys, this is the way to deal with that, where you can go in, you've got another, you've got a half inch weapon. One of the places where I would recommend having these is we've got a lot of people who have big boats. And I've done outfitting years ago, I used to do a lot of outfitting with a shop that I worked with, actually ran the thing, and a lot of stainless. How I system here, especially with the way it's designed, would be a great complement to a boat inventory. A half inch gun changes the dimensions of engagement dramatically if you are being pressed upon. There's a lot of people that do international sailing course, God knows what the restrictions are from one port to the next, but you're, or if you're moving in certain circles and you plan on using the boat to a refuge in the future, you know, a mobile platform, a half-inch gun would be a very good choice to have in the inventory. It is the dimensions of the waterborne contact altogether. You reach out beyond pretty much everything the bad guys have. That doesn't mean you're going to be like John Wayne with his Chinese junk with a 20 millimeter oil icon in the back end. It was always my favorite. Oh, by the way, a junk with teeth. it does give you the ability to reach out and uh... actually defend the boat more effectively in the certain conditions so that is another option and again you could accordingly you dot question i've never and i have the thing actually nickel-plated though manager that what i've been remembering that this has for a lot of the boat crews concern is if you're dealing with salt chrome would be an option to consent and finish it out or you can leave it chrome uh... i think if they can see the boat they're going to know you're there yeah that's that that The consideration is that the chrome, remember before stainless, high chrome was another option on the water to help keep down corrosion. And so that's a consideration if you're looking at salt water and a lot of people are. Well, here's another thing. Good old pork rising, you know, it's 100 years old, you know, an alliance of vastly misunderstood. It's not really a coating. It's with a phosphoric acid in the solution, etches the steel and grows a manganese phosphate crystals. out of the structure but they're loose like salt. So you can rub oil into them, cosmoline, lubricate, and when you've got that thin film of oil embedded in that surface, you're going to eliminate corrosion. And that is a good option in park rising grade one, two, or three option. And you do have the park rising ability too, correct? Yes. And that is a direction ahead too. So there are a wide range of options. Don't say, well, I didn't think I could get it the way I wanted. No, no. It's for a creative mind and Dave Moore about what it is you're going to get a final product, eh? Here's the challenge. I challenge anyone. Bring me a problem and I guarantee it. There's again, this is what we're looking for guys. A lot of people have been asking me these questions. I got a stack of letters here about a foot and a half deep and there's been a lot of requests. Where do we go for a half inch weapon? Well, this is a solution. A lot of you guys have AR-15s. So you can't say that you don't have the platform or the base for this. Now let's get into the basic weapons system of course and again there are alternates for caliber. As long as you don't have any restrictions in your state, half inch though would probably be the best for most people's applications because available, not that it isn't in the other calibers but different missions, different concepts of how they're going to apply the weapon. If we were reloading and that's really where we're going next year because you're going to have to be ready to reload and we want this industry built up anyway. As far as reloading goes, again, also just firearms manufacturing in the United States. Dave, you're an American company, aren't you? Money's not going overseas, is it? No, it's not. So that means you're keeping people employed here. You're an American company. I say that if you were going to be spending the money somewhere, this is a person to spend the money on. I don't have a problem with people doing business. In fact, that's what we're supposed to be doing. Supposed to be dealing with Americans maintaining American commerce. And that's in country. We're looking at the idea that we've got our basic weapon put together and now we've got to look at how are we going to feed this thing? What would you recommend if we're going to reload? What are we looking at? Okay, if we have a customer who wants to reload, this is the first thing I tell them. Pick up the phone or go on the internet, find the 50 caliber shooters association which is FCSA.org. Join that association. You're gonna get four magazines a year your membership card patch sticker But the most important thing is a suppliers guide Anyone and everyone who has anything to sell for 50 caliber is gonna be in the supplier guide and when you start reloading You're gonna find that if you can't go to the same source every time and find bullets or primers or powder You know, it's like the last company to have a batch of IMI was high-tech ammunition. I believe they're in Utah somewhere It sold out very quickly now Wideners might be the next and then it might be somebody next so if your member You have your suppliers guide you can call around and if you have a computer you can go online To our message form all our members, you know, not all of our members a good majority of our members congregate online and disgusting and When there's a sale that comes up on powder or cases They let everybody know hey run to high tech and get you under cases because they're gonna run out very quickly Exactly. I'll tell you what, you stay right there. Dave, ladies and gentlemen, this is the Intel Report. We've got the maker of the Ferret 50, Spider Firearms, Dave Moore. Be the resistance. Tell your friends about BraveNewBookstore.com. Okay, we're talking about reloading and we're going to start with the primer first. That's our first thing that gets initiated. You've got one option for primers, it's CCI. CCI number 35, my advice to anybody, if you think you're going to be reloading, stock up. They come on sporadic and we almost saw them dry up a couple years ago, no one else was making primers. Now for cases you've got a few choices here. There is some IMI that creeps in and out It's 70s early 80s. I don't know about the quality. Everyone else needs to think it's alright Winchester still got some brass that's floating out there from a Military contract they didn't get and then there's pulled down military Lake City anywhere from mid 50s to the 80s stuff shoots pretty good Some of it you might have to turn a case heads I recommend turning case next if you want any kind of accuracy out of it Front of that, well inside that of course is our powder. You can go with surplus powder. You're going to have erratic velocity. Your Boston Rock, that's just fine. Precision work, bump to Hodgson's H50PMG, tolerant to temperature, and it's good for projectiles up to about 750 grains. Jumping over 750 grains, you're going to get into the finished powder, the Vita Varee, and you're looking at 800 grain projectiles and a longer barrel because that's a powder too light. My recommendation to customers, start with the H50 BMG, 215 grains. If you're shooting the A-Max, that's going to give you about half a minute of accuracy. And it's really simple to put together. Military projectiles, it's like the cases. They come and they go. When you order them, make sure they've been resized. All of these, the machines that demeal ammunition, all egg-she sized, you're going to have to do it yourself, buying and die. Now real quick on that, as far as dies and presses go, we can get low end on this, can't we? As the kits, as your press dies, $200. All of my customers I've talked to said it's a very, very good setup. It will get you loading ammunition right now. A little bit above that, Hornaday and RCBS, about $450, includes all the dies. I have a couple of the RCBS. They work good. to jump up from there and you're looking at the custom stuff. I run a Corbin bullet swatching press and a set of dies from M2 Precision from Mike Matter out in California. Now these are competition dies. About $1,600 for the set. You'll find nothing like it anywhere. He's a craftsman, definitely. Right, you're looking at skilled trades there. I mean, that doesn't mean the other technology there, the other lower end is not. You're looking now getting up into the bench range. farther and farther because you're maintaining accuracy with the loading process. Exactly. Now one of the key things I try to tell my customers, and this is counterintuitive from smaller calibers, do not go for a fitting case. You want somewhere in the neighborhood of five thousandths clearance in your headspace. Yeah, it seems like that bullet, that case is going to rattle around in the chamber, but that's exactly what you want because we have such a slow ignition if we have our case bound up in the chamber. A bullet jump. So the mass of material we're using versus diameter. When we get over that, we start seeing some funny things until we start getting into artillery type stuff. So the .50 caliber is kind of in between an optimum small cartridge and we start getting into big stuff playing milling over. Well, most of the techniques and technologies applied to the .50 caliber, there are some nuances. It really comes down to a lot to get lit. Now there again, that's where it's crucial, again, quality with the primers. We don't want to see, now I'll remind everybody about this. When we're building equipment like this, when we're building ammunition, we want to maintain the highest standards possible with both cleanliness and lack of humidity. We want to keep our moisture down. We don't want oils or lubricants to come in contact with anything in the process. We want to make sure, again, guys, you make up a little clean. Actually, your loading area should be a little bit of a clean room. You know what I mean? A final product. Remember, your life, well, or competition, is stimulating life and death. In other words, best shot wins as they say. We want to make sure that every time we pull the trigger we drop the hammer and that firing pin makes contact. We're going to see something go down the tube and it's going to go down the tube completely and accurately. Exactly. So that's where again you have an excellent design here and again I cannot stress enough a lot of you guys are listening have AR-15s. You've been looking for a 50. This is the half inch salute. I would and I'm going to stress this because fastest way for us to get more half-inch guns out there. You'll be able to get on the range and get into the competitions, which is really cool. When you start, you know, we talk about resistance, but when you talk a thousand yards, I want you to just, for a minute, when you're done with the program listening today, guys, go out in front of your house if you got a nice long road, and just pace out one thousand paces. And then I want you to make sure you look back. Put a big orange rag on the mailbox or put a stake in the ground with fluorescent paint. And I want you to walk out that thousand yards and turn around and look back. That's right. Better take some objects. Now the thing about it is that this rifle is able to keep what kind of inch groups at 1,000 yards? 6 inches not uncommon. The best group out of our gun at 1,000 yards, 5 shots, is 3.1 inches. Okay, now let's let's qualify that let's look at six inches. I'm gonna lay my hand Okay, I want to put my hand palm flat and I'm gonna lay my thumb next to it I might need another half inch there But I'm about that's about six inches guys six inches at 1,000 yards means if I lay that on my chest that I were looking at combat effectiveness here If I am above or below that six inch mark my lady say it's a my sternum I don't think if I'm hit with a half inch gun, it's gonna make a whole lot of difference. You know what I mean? Yeah I'll bet you ouch would not be the word because I won't have time to respond I might wonder what freight train hit me, but that'll be some of the last things I'm thinking about like moved up Yeah, that's close enough more than close enough. Oh again. This is a this is an excellent weapon system We're going farther Dave because we are getting close give out all your contact information and do it twice with everything everybody gets your pen right now Okay, the company name is spider and our website is www ferret50.com and that is spelled F-E-R-R-E-T-5-0.com and our phone number is 407 957 3617. I was doing something else. I'm here because I love the sport. Americans that want a good 50 caliber have that opportunity. Now I do want to say one other thing with the reloading. There's a lot of information that you may or may not have. Is it something you want to do? learn as much as you can when you get stuck. Call your gun manufacturer or your gun dealer. All of my customers have an open door policy to come to me if they have a problem, no matter if it's scope, shooting position, reloading, I'll give you the information if I've got it. If not, I will find the information. Because having all the components and not knowing how to use them is completely useless. The knowledge is- Have a great time in the process. Guys, when you get out to the range of weapons like this, any weapon obviously is fun to shoot. This is demonstrating, this is getting back to the old Kentucky rifleman, okay? Where you sit there and the idea is to keep it in that pie plate. And the idea is to develop that skill to the point where you got bragging rights, okay? You demonstrate performance. Some people are better than others. That's just how it works. In every little task, this rifle fits a... You want to challenge yourself? This is where you challenge yourself right here. And not only that, it's the old... They used to call it the 1903 Springfield in Korea. Remember what the term was? It was named... It was named, 1903-83 was issued out to every 10th man in a rifle squad. A bolt-action rifle? Yeah, a bolt-action rifle. And usually it gravitated to the guy that, well, you know, he used to fire from Ridge to Ridge, probably up in Pennsylvania or Kentucky or Tennessee. And my uncle Lloyd, he was a rifleman with 03-83. That was one of the many weapons he qualified on and used during Korea. And I'll tell you what, it makes a big difference, people, when they don't have a clue, but somebody goes, ugh. Well today, thank you for coming up. Thank you, sir And I'll tell you what one more time for your phone number, please 407 957 3617 and are you there right now? Can people call? Yes, sir.
