Mark Koernke discussed affordable lightweight firearms options for family defense and preparedness, including detailed reviews of the Kel-Tec SU-16 carbine and High Point carbines as economical alternatives to AR-15s. He explained how these weapons could be distributed among family members at lower cost, compared their ergonomics and magazine systems to other platforms, and addressed considerations for different shooters including children and elderly individuals. In the second half, Koernke shifted to ammunition reloading techniques, specifically discussing sabot cup technology that allows shooters to fire .223 bullets from .30 caliber rifles at dramatically increased velocities (3500-7000 feet per second) for enhanced performance and armor penetration, and provided contact information for J&D Components in Utah for purchasing sabot cups and reloading supplies.

Ladies and gentlemen, can I please have your attention? I've just been handed an urgent and horrifying news story. Ooh, could that be email coming my way? You have twelve. 100 messages. Well, welcome to America, amigo. Tua! Tonight, a figure walked in through the mist with a flintlock in his hand. His clothes were torn and dirty as he stood there by my bed. He took off his three-cornered hat, and speaking low to me, he said, We've fought a revolution to secure our liberty. We wrote the Constitution as a shield from tyranny. For future generations, this legacy we gave. In this, the land of the free. And home of the brave. The freedoms we secured for you, we hoped you'd always keep. The tyrants labored endlessly while your parents were asleep. Your freedom's gone, your courage lost, you're no more than a slave. In this, the land of the free. And home of the brave. You buy permits to travel and permits to own a gun. Permits to start a business or to build a place for one. On land that you believe you own, you pay a yearly rent. Although you have no voice in saying how the money's spent, your children must attend a school that doesn't educate, and your Christian values can't be taught according to the state. You read about the current news in a regulated press, and you pay a tax you do not owe to please the IRS. Your money is no longer made of silver nor of gold. You trade your wealth for paper so your life can be controlled. You pay for crimes that make our nation turn from God and shame. You've taken Satan's number. You've traded in your name. You've given government control to those who do you harm so they could burn down churches and seize the family farm and keep our country. Put men of God in jail. Harash your fellow countrymen while corrupted courts prevail. Your public servants don't uphold the solemn oaths they've sworn. And your daughters visit doctors. So there are children on people. Your leaders send artillery and guns to foreign shores, and send your sons to slaughter fighting other people's wars. You regain the freedoms for which we fought and died. Or don't you have the courage or the faith to stand with pride? And are there no more values for which you will fight to save? Or do you wish your children their fear and be a slave? Oh, sons of the Republic, arise. Take a stand. defend the Constitution, the Supreme Law of the land, preserve our great republic and each god given right to torture freedom as I awoke he'd vanished in the midst of the whence he came. His words were true, we are free, but we have ourselves to blame. For even now as tyrants trampled each god given right, we only watch and tremble, too afraid to stand and fight. He stood by your bedside in a dream while you were asleep and wondered what remains of the freedoms he'd fought to keep. What would be your answer? He called out from the grave. Dill the plan. this morning, Don is? That means some, some bingerie or tort to speak. So here one hit the chamber. The slide is closed. Now can offer equal coercive opportunity. If you are foolish enough to enter the area of control, we, and of course, we will give you the opportunity to leave and then we will, well, send you on your way. You just figured that one. It can be a 45 caliber or whatever. We are looking at the middle of the week here, weapons Wednesday, and again, keep your pens already because we are going to be giving you ideas. First of all, a lot of people out there are looking for obviously economic arms. That's one of the most important things everybody looks at is can I afford it? That better be is it reliable? Well, a lot of American army, not all of them are necessarily, also that are pump action, etc. We'll also find the number of newer light rifles that are out there that are 5 pound range per out of Florida. Now, Caltech does a wide range of innovative little designs, little carvings. Also, main battle rifles, MBRs. Now, an MBR typically is a rifle that uses a larger caliber, could be in a full capacity chambering, such as 30mm Mauser, could be 7.62x54 Russian rimmed, but those are MBR calibers. Now, they do make a bullpup light rifle that is an MBR type weapon. It's an interesting piece. Used in several ways. It actually forward ejects the cartridge. That's a little heavier rifle and nice light little carbine called the SU-16. Now the SU-16 holding stock, nothing in the sense that you see like the AR-15. More like the survival rifle type folding stock systems where it's purely designed so that the weapon is smaller, easier to store. 223, it's independent. itself, important unlike the AR-15, actually grab the charging handle and actively participate in if you have a malfunction or a failure of a malfunction. Instead we want to accelerate around that's causing problems, figure out what's going on and then act accordingly. Well, the overall rifle weighs only five pounds, uses AR-15 magazines, because it also has a for you, you know, shooters that want to kind of, or stabilize it. Four grips actually butterfly and fold down to make a bipod. So this is a feature that was on the STG58 FN49, I'm sorry FNFAL type rifle. The STG58s were like the Cadillac of the FNFAL's iPod system, where the fore grip actually was hinged, just as it is now on the SU-16. You can imagine you hit one switch, there's two pieces, they come down and separate, and actually our spring look at a bipod. Now the advantage, you might be in the snow country, or you might want to, for instance, like I said, lay down and stabilize the shot. No, these are not steel. The one thing about the fall grips in this case is there's ITEL Nylon. But it actually serves its purpose. And again, they're trying to keep the weight of the weapon down. Another cool feature, Don, is that the SU-16 actually has a storage point in the buff stock for either two 10-round Kel-Tec magazines that go in the weapon that are built for that rifle. Hold one. the military mag that clip to the stock, the length of the stock. So you actually have ammunition on board. This is a plus plus feature. Think about it. You got a 30 round magazine in the rifle, have a couple of tens, or you have a 30 round magazine in the stock, 50 to 60 rounds on the rifle at any given time. Now that is a positive feature because even if you jump out of the shower bare butt naked and you had to grab, or if you were caught unawares and you had to grab the weapon and run, You have at least 60 rounds to keep the bad guys busy so that you're able to... But I gotta put this out there. If you're shooting with a bipod gun, now when you're going out there and shooting that gopher, you pretty much know where that gopher hole is. You know what I'm trying to tell you. So you lay the gun out in, you know, not even in the general direction. You're within a couple of minutes. You know what I mean? When you pick that gun up, you can generally wiggle that bipod a little bit. But you're gonna find that when you have multiple moving targets, The bipod is going to hold up the front of the gun when you're bolting the gun, bolt gun. The bipod is going to hold up the front of the gun when you are changing magazines. It's a magazine fed gun. But you're going to find that much like that little plastic soldier, remember, you know, the little plastic soldier there in the prone position, every shot is not going to go into the same place. You're going to use again, that bipod. What I'm trying to get to the bottom line is here, you may not even take a shot with the bipod holding up the front of the gun. in a prone position in a mixed environment. It's good to have that bipod there because it beats laying the gun on the ground. Exactly. At the very least, if you're going to have this or if you've got to pull something out of your gear rather than laying the weapon in any position that might be compromising or debris on the ground, which is typically the case for snow, this allows the weapon to be placed in a situation where at least you'll have the weapon up and ready to run. while you're busy adjusting equipment, pulling a candy bar out of your pocket. It allows the weapon to still be in the ready position while one hand may be controlling the weapon, but the other hand is performing another action, not five pounds. We're talking very light. So the SU-16 is an excellent weapon. In other words, for those who are looking for a light-carving weapon that you want to get to and you're looking for something where machines are not going to be outrageously expensive, about it. Air 15 mags are everywhere. Buy them now. The 556-22s, there are plenty of those available. The neat thing is that a lot of people, what they were promoting this for is it's an excellent little utility rifle to have in an aircraft. It's an excellent little weapon to have, for instance, a nice little weapon to have tucked in a vehicle or carried a couple of them in a vehicle. They don't take any weight. They're sufficient for getting out of trouble again, being a nice little 223 carbine. It's in a little niche unto itself and it truly is a carbine type rifle. Caltech company, Cal CK, with a K by the way, Caltech, with also a new pistol. So they actually, Caltech all the way if you want, it's all American made, 100% American, and the little pistols that they're making are actually quite popular. I understand they're getting very good ratings as is the case with a lot of these companies like this. that have pretty good engineering skills and they've found a niche. Now there's one direction, the Kel-Tec for also you older ladies and gentlemen or for the ladies who want something that doesn't have a whole lot of kick but actually is a nice light rifle package. It's something easy to carry. It means you're going to be willing to keep it with you. A lot of people are like, I don't want to carry my seven or eight pound rifle with me, which doesn't sound like much, but for a lot of people Even for soldiers, they lamented about the 8 and 9 pound, yeah the grand and the M14 guys, come on think about it. We went to the 7 pound M16 and there's guys that will tell you it's pretty heavy after a while. So it's like okay, well now we're talking 5 pounds. This is a 5 pound carbine, okay. In fact, for all the ladies, for people, now this is one thing I will, you know, don't be embarrassed about this bottom line is, as we get older, we lose, you know, certain strength or we have problems with, guess what? It still gives you the ability to be able to fight, to say, military cartridge. So you've got the ability with the same amount of firepower to actually put rounds down range in the defense to protect people. See how that works? Or at least to protect yourself. That's one area. That's the one light rifle. Now another company, and again we're looking at American here. People are going, well these are all these foreign weapons. Well there's American stuff made still. We need to look at seriously the idea that, OK, if you're going to pick up American, here's what you can find. In another light rifle, one that I've mentioned many times, the high-tech carbine. Now, the high-tech carbine is nothing more than the high-tech pistol. And put into a Zytel plastic, actually, to a polymer frame. They look cool. There's two models. The original model, of course. looks like a Star Wars blaster. The new ones look like even more of a ray gun than the original one did just because somebody came up with a more stylish stock for it. You decide which one you like. Personally, I just go with a factory standard body, the standard standard factory, they've come up with it. The advantage of this particular light rifle is that they came originally in 9 millimeter. Now there's lots of 9 millimeter around and remember you can always buy lawman ammunition in the aluminum hull 9 millimeter. got yourself lots of ammo, there's military surplus still out there, there's cop shop surplus brass out there you can find people have shot up and you can carry home so there's all kinds of reloading that can be done. So the 9mm high point has no felt recoil. By the very nature of the the the caliber used down when you pull the trigger it's like firing a 22mm. Oh yeah. The 10 shot magazine fed, my automatic light carbine, high riser sights, it has the ability to take a number of different fasteners depending on what year you pick, what year the weapon was made. Newer has got all the latest picking technology on board, I understand. So here you've got a whole bunch of options, but personally it's got the standard iron sights. It's a light carbine again. This is a short rifle, very easy to use, very mild manner for something for again, young adults or if you're looking for just a utility rifle they have hanging around, you can grab this thing and get you out of trouble. Now for you older people, again, no felt recoil. So if you've got injuries or repair that's been done, a rifle that's easy to handle, very lightweight, has no felt recoil or minimal felt recoil, and you literally can fire it and you'll be focusing on accuracy, not worrying about any shoulder or sharp pains or anything like that. It's a very comfortable weapon. There's no way to describe it. It's a bear up and to fire. Many different companies that are carrying point out there across the country. Centerfiresystems.com J&G sales out of Arizona has them. They make mags in whatever capacity. Now they do make larger capacity mags. I wouldn't worry about having too many of those so much as having lots and lots of the mags that you know will fit and that are reliable and that will fit both the pistol and the rifle. Now an interesting thing about that Don is when high point pistols came out, I've got to tell you they were ugly. to come to the, kind of like what the Germans did with their weapons in World War II. At a given point, about 1942-43, the Germans decided that if they were going to be building weapons, they had minimal, were working parts for proper dimensions so the operation of the weapon would be flawless. Now, otherwise, if the weapon was, the part was cast, it was left rough. A classic example of this is anybody who has had a G or a K-43, some of them, wherever they are not, with another working part in the casting rough. This creates a nice tactical finish anyway because it's not exactly directly shiny. It doesn't have a reflective surface. It looks kind of crude. Well, again, where it needed to be efficient, it was. Machinery, got to remember, tooling costs money and you don't want to lose it if you can help it or use it any faster than you have to. The high point pistols, when they came out with them guys, decided they were square topped, the sights were finished. But other than that, the cheap side. Well it was. They're actually very cheap pistols. They kept the cost of manufacturing down. However, they work pretty well. When you pull the trigger, they work every time. They're forgiving to clean them, which, shame on you, you should always clean your... I want to hear about that later. We did it for 7,000 rounds. We actually did do that. People took the high-techs pistols. Now you got to remember the new ones. The whole high-techs been made some money on more tooling, Don. New high-techs actually have a pretty nice line. They look kind of like across between an Israeli-Jericho. They think not much. They gave a little bit of style. The liability is still there. The high point pistols have gotten very high ratings from all of the research groups. Like they said, it's only about $130 to $150. They're simple. Just kiss. Keep it simple stupid. Okay? Put the magazine in. Pull the slide back. Let the slide fall forward. Don't slow the slide. It's designed to take that action. You can't hurt that weapon. Don't let it fly. That's right. That's the most common mistake made, isn't it, Don? People how to operate this and that and their hand follows whether it's a long gun, you know, AR, watch the number of people to impress those around them just like they do it and how. Yeah, we can't afford to be making mistakes and malfunctions can be created. Remember, think about it this way. When you pull the slide back, if you just let go, what do you think the weapon is doing every time you pull the trigger? If you think you're violent with the fire... The slide goes forward. That's right. you think you're a fighter with a firearm, trust me, you ain't putting the pressure on it that that cartridge is when it slams back onto the slide and you know, pushes the slide forward with a blowback action. You can't do what that cartridge is going to do to the firearm. Okay? But that is again, is one of those things you got to remember. Now again, here's another American firearms company. It's high tech. The reason I'm pointing these out is another thing. They're affordable. High point, I'm sorry, high tech. The high point carbines and the high point pistols Being an American company, high tech is another company altogether, forgive me, but High Point, companies that have done a fine job of coming up with solutions, and again, they're a small guy, they're small guys, they're not really super big, intelligent about what they built. Now they have a whole family of handguns. You could go with different things. By the way, they don't just make the High Point carbine in 9mm now, they make it also the caliber Smith and Wesson. 40 caliber has been the oddball out for a bit, but I'm going to tell you something. If you're looking for a reloadable brass, ratio of other brass to 40 caliber right now is probably about empty cases of Smith & Wesson 40 caliber, a 5, 45, or say about 10, 9 millimeter. The reason is a lot of these comp shops in different big cities, belong to 40 caliber. So it depends on where you are, but in our area here, for instance, we're talking and pounds and pounds of brass, once fired, boxer primed, non-corrosive brass, ready to reload and cheap because you buy it for scrap weight. You go to the scrappers and you find the .40 caliber stuff they've dropped off, plus everything else. I mean, we're getting every other caliber mixed in with that. But .40 caliber is really heavy out there because of the comp shops. Keep in mind, a .40 caliber would not be a bad choice for a light car being pistol combo. in that the ammunition is on the shelf, a price, or you're going to find stuff on somebody else who might be just laying there bleeding and dying that is in .40 caliber. OK? You know, there's a lot of good things. Compared to the .45, it goes down the road pretty quick. It's a hot rod. If you only take off one ninth of the external diameter, something solid If you have a keen eye in the right light, you can see them lobbing through the air, Mark. Well, they're a bullet. Well, stand there and get hit with a brick. A brick don't move too fast. This little brick will percate you just mind if you stand there. We could talk on and on about ballistics, weight versus speed, but we're at the bottom of the hour, you guys, the intelligence report. We'll be back in about three and a half minutes. Who are you guys? Hats off to your short rangers. Do you want to get back to that high point, high tech? Go back there Mark. You know what we've got a couple other items to definitely touch on but the reason it brought up the weapons that we talked about the first half hour of this program is because A lot of people are looking for something that is affordable. Something that will fit ergonomically a particular need. In other words, again, a lot of people are looking at other rifles down and they are looking at things and saying, well that's a little heavy. You know, for like say my 11 year old, I'm trying to teach them how to shoot, I want to give them a nice rifle. That doesn't mean that grandpa's bolt action, if that's what you're planning on giving him, is a bad idea because my first supposed to be a deer rifle, but my first rifle was a 1903 Springfield. I'll tell you what, it was, and it's still a beautiful deer rifle here from Michigan. Also, it was a three-time state winner, 1942, a straight oath. It's the earlier type stock, the C stock that you'd find later on the 03A3 rifle, but it was a heavier, you know, it's a heavier full-size rifle. Not cut down, no, you know, no reducing the stock. Everything's original. The thing about it is, is that that rifle old, 11 years old, okay, so, but I was getting ready to get into deer hunting. It's not one of those things I could ride away, although I learned real quick how to handle it. I would have run around with it if I had to. I wasn't small, but I was a medium sized guy. And the other weapon that I had, which was a fine rifle and still have around, is a bolt action single shot .22. That weapon, single shot, no magazine, nothing, just a straight pole. bolt action, you got to pull the pull plunger in the middle back, called cock the weapon. The bolt didn't even cock the weapon, you just load the weapon, pull the bolt back, pull back on the firing pin, and you're ready to play. And in this case, it was a great little game getter, still is a little game getter, nothing hitting what I was aiming for. It's like, well, actually, I got pretty good at that, too. You know, open the bolt, drops the round in, that first round didn't get it, that's great with the second one. Again, bunnies could be taken with a .22 also, but that's one niche. We're looking at light defense weapons, and the high point carbine and the SU-16 get into that category. Very lightweight, easy to use, that's the other thing. There's no intricate complication. One thing that is really, for all the problems with the AR-15, we always joke, it's a piece of junk, but it's a cool piece of junk, because there's all kinds of things you can do with it. You can mix and match it. 50 caliber on the roof of an AR. But AR-15s run $700 apiece, man. We're talking like anywhere from as little as $500 in parts, which you can do, all the way up to $700, $800. And people are saying, well, they don't really make these rifles work. You've got to spend $1,000. A lot of you don't have $1,000 out there. Am I right? I understand this. So let's say I have $1,500. a bunch of family members I need to outfit and I want to make sure that there's some equity here because a lot of times when you have children you also want to make sure everybody gets basically the same thing so somebody doesn't think they've been left out. Or of course you can also promote them by saying, hey, see the nice rifle there? Well, you get better and bigger and you know what? You get one of those too. Oh, okay. I'm going to get better at it. I'm going to get better at what I'm doing. We know how that works. The point is that these little high point car means actually pick them up. Everybody can have one. For the price of what 1AR15 is, you can have about 4 high points and a lot of mags. You can have about 4 high points in the price of 1AR15. You can have about 2 to 3 SU16s for the price of 1AR15. The SU16 has the same cartridge and uses AR15 systems as far as what it does. AR15 is more economical. That means you can put more of them into the field. Now these don't have to be, these aren't considered primary fighting weapons, they can be, but they're designed for defense weapons. They're designed to give everybody something that can be a nice little utility rifle. Again, kind of like the old, and again there's a lot of those out there, Winchester lever actions or old lever action guns that were like in 2530, okay, or 3830 in the short calibers, or 3820 is another one. of short calibers that were made that were in the pistol caliber range. Hellboy Gun combo back in the 1800s and they still made them into the 1900s. A lot of you guys listening out west know this because you probably have one. You might even have Grandpa's combo set. Her action was a short stroke carbine. 22 rounds if it was the long barrel, okay, because the magazine was underneath the barrel. The pistol, single action revolver, although Smith and Wesson made a bunch of Okay, model 10s that were in the cowboy calibers so you actually could buy them same chambering as your lever act. Well, the cool thing is that everything you carried on your pistol belt, everything you carried in your cartridge box fit the rifle and the pistol. Well, we're moving forward into the 1990s and then in cowboy combo weapons. Now the two, two, three, that's a different story. But you know, like the high point, you know, Don, you got, you know, pistol caliber for the rifle, pistol caliber for the pistol. and behold magazines that interchange. That's in your pocket, you could either one. That's right, you won't have to think twice in the words of what magazine do I have. Well, instead it's quick. So the cowboy guns work exactly the same way. They were saddle, well another term is saddle rifles. You know what, one of the advantages was they were the assault rifle of their day. Oh, as you mentioned the assault rifle. Well, when you look at it this way, in a pistol caliber, if your liver action could carry 18 or 16 rounds, guys, that's a lot of firepower. Chick, chick, boom, chick, chick, boom, chick, chick, boom, chick, chick, boom. Wow, he doesn't seem to stop firing. And it's not because it's a Hollywood rifle. It's because it's a weapon that's in a short light pistol caliber. That's why. And a lot of different lever actions. Bivage made them. Winchester made them. Remington made some variations on the theme where they made other rifles that were in the pistol caliber so that they matched up with your personal firearm. So that's what we're thinking about. That's what we're looking at for you, to give you a solution. that you can actually afford, arm other family members and they're all equally armed and with a common arm too. This is the other cool thing. Hey Don, pass me a bag. There you go and you've got it. Alright, clunk, chick, chick. My high point and pop, pop, pop, pop, pop. The other thing with the SU-16 that works the same way. Now I was going to bring something else up even though one feature of the M16 magazine system plus, think about it this way. All you got to do is make that magazine line up. You shove it into a magazine well, you tap the bottom of the mag to make sure that you hear that little click, and guess what? That's done. There's no thinking process about it. And when you want to release it, there's a little button on the side, you push it, the magazine typically will drop out. But even if it doesn't, you pull it out quick, you take the next mag, you jam it right into the next hole, you know, the next that space, you know, the next mag's ready to go, and you pop, pop, pop, pop, pop. In other words, it's that fast. Now that's a big plus. It's kind of like a pistol magazine well. So for reloading, the cycle time to change mags requires a minimal amount of training and a minimal amount of thinking to get the job done. Now, the other weapons, such as the AK, the M14, typically people have to remember, part of the mag has to go into the well, back, you hear a click, you have to front of the mag to make sure she's seated, you make sure you've got it secure. you charge the weapon and you bring it to your shoulder and pop, pop, pop, pop, pop. That's how she works. Mini-14 is the same way. They're a pivot, just a little more thinking, and usually with Rethix in any way. But the AR-15, a very cool idea because a lot of people, well, you know, they aren't trained with the weapon as well. They don't have as much time to train with the weapon. Basic understanding, it's easy to find that magazine while at night because you shove the magazine in, charge the handle. The little M1 carbine did the same thing, the same way. Okay. Isn't that cool? That's the well thing. Another thing is, one thing nice down to about that is, okay, you've got your .45 in your hand. She slides out. You pull the next mag out. Well, there's a natural action. You're holding your magazine and you've got it guided into that magazine well. The nice thing is you have not released control of the weapon. Like I'm not in the high point works this way too, by the way, that's why I'm bringing this up. You're able to... magazine well all you have to do is once she's in is slide her into place slap the bottom of the mag hit the slide release and you're ready to go. The high point works in the same way. Again you're holding the pistol grip the magazine well is in the pistol grip it's not outside of the pistol grip remember they're using a handgun frame for the basis for this rifle. Although it doesn't look like a handgun from the outside at all guys except that it does have the pistol grip and the magazine well is in the pistol grip. Just a little hint there. An interesting little point. By the way, we didn't, we ought to remind you, it is 7.45 in the morning. You are supposed to be awake. Get up right now. If you're still laying in bed, you're in the wrong place. But you're going to get out of bed, or you're going to walk down a hall. We know we have to do this. This is your morning ritual. If not, this is the second crew that are supposed to be doing this. We're going to walk into the kitchen. We're looking around all the life back from the mother-in-law. Oh, there's that cup right there. You're so lucky to have her there. Can you smell? Again, Anna. Oh, yeah, hold on. You're awake. You heard that alarm at the bottom of the hour. You know you're awake. You just didn't get up where you're supposed to. Now you're safe. Okay, you still got time. We're not going to panic, but every minute counts, so you got to think. Ready for the morning? Oh, wait a minute. One more time. I'm awake now. And you? Because you got to get to work. I'll tell you, it's the middle of the week. We only got two more days. Hopefully, unless like Don, as you've said, you might have more than one job nowadays. We understand this might be your second job. You may already finish your first shift work and now you're getting onto the second. So thank goodness she made that cup of coffee for you and went to sleep a little bit. So anyway, make sure you stay that way. Guess what? A lot of you guys have 30 caliber rifles out there, don't you? You all want to win this war. Don't we want to win this war, Don? Okay, so guys, we're going to have some ideas here. We're going to make our ammunition go farther. We're going to make sure that we We come up with solutions that don't let the enemy get away, but also are great for varmints shooting. Have you ever had to hunt varmints? Now, we want to use a fast bullet so that when the varmint is out there, he doesn't have time to think about what it is that's going on. That's the trick to varmint shooting, because you know, those little rodents are pretty fast. You get that woodchuck out there, you get that marmint, by the way, marmints are back on the east coast. But you get whatever it is you're hunting for, he pops up out of that hole or he's lounging in the sun on the edge of your tomato fields or on the edge of your...he's eating his weight God knows how many times per day. You got to be that big fat chubby woodchuck for a reevelant on your food. So we've decided that we're not going to feed woodchucks anymore. So, well, there's two things. We could use that SU-16 that we just talked about. It's a nice little barman rifle. It's in .223. Or, we might have a 1903 Springfield like Mark was talking about earlier. Or any other .30 caliber weapon. It could be .300 Savage. It could be .3030. It could be .3040 Craig. Ooh, there's a nice old cartridge. It could be .300 Win Mag. It could be, oh, any number of .30 caliber cartridge. could be, oh, what about 30 Russians, 7.62x39 or 7.62x54. Well, here's an idea. How would you like your rifle to become a ray gun? What do I mean by ray gun? Well, think about this. Let's say I want to eliminate the time to flight. What that means is I increase the velocities dramatically. Now, what do I mean by dramatically? Well, what if we could put a bullet down range out of the 30 caliber rifle at about 3500 for the little rifles 4500 feet per second guys that's we're talking no flight time we're talking very little bullet drop we're talking monster performance well guess what they've already been doing this for years now a lot of independent people built caliber back when the tank technology came out like this people said hey wait a minute we can take this right down to rifles or shotguns. Now the shotguns use a discarding clamshell. What it does is when it leaves the barrel the clamshells separate two pieces and the projectile moves down range. That's cool. However, underfly cup which basically is like and the way to describe it is this take your hand and lay it lay it out in front of you like you're saying howl or waving waving. Take your fingers and bend and turn them into a circular formation with your palms still sitting the same way. Bend your hands right at the hand itself, at the base of the finger. Make like a wrap, like you're holding a ball, like you're gonna hold a ball. That's how that Sabo Cup is formed with a solid base made out of, and they're made out of plastic. It's made out of actually heat resistant plastic. They're very tiny, just do. Well, these little 30 caliber Sabo Cups hold a 55 grain, two, two, three, full metal jacket, military ball round. Now the reason you want to use a military ball round is because it's solid in the front and you're going to heat up this bullet when it's traveling at higher velocities. So you want it to be stable. To decide to do this, the cool thing is that again in every caliber from 300 win mag all the way down to 30 caliber Toker 7.6.225, a .223 bullet, needed in that cup, cartridge to appropriate specs. Know what you got? You got yourself a Star Wars blaster. Now I mentioned 30 caliber Tokarev pistol. Guys, out of the muzzle of a 7.62x25 Tokarev pistol with a 4.5 inch barrel, you know, 5 inch barrel, you're looking, and by the way this will work in the broom handle miles or two, you're looking at 2,850 feet per second. Guys, what's the muzzle velocity of that SU16 or the AR15? What we have here is a pistol. that actually has incredible body armor penetration. Did I say that? It doesn't stand a chance. In other words, it virtually cuts through the plastic like butter. I'm telling you, it's like butter. Now, if you want to be mean, there's another thing you can do. How many of you are machinists or have a machine shop with a friend there that runs equipment like lathes? What if, or CNC? That's my favorite. Now, of course, because everybody's got CNC technology in one form or another. What if you were to take a little over a 30 caliber 4140 chromoly rod and you program the dimension for a 55 grain full metal jacket bullet into the tool. Start from one end of that rod and it goes, ehhhhh, and then ehhhhh, this whole string of solid steel, 55 grain projectiles. Well, it would be a little more than 55 grain, little, yeah, about the same, because they're still, again, solid steel is supposed to lead in steel, lead in copper jacket. Now, the thing is, remember, these projectiles do not make contact with the bore of the rifle because the SABO holds the projectile in place and is a beer cup. The SABO is what makes contact with the rifling of the barrel. You mean that bullet could be found on a stretcher some day? It would be pristine but with no rifling. Yes. Just like the magic bullet. The advantage is, in flight, the steel is not going to heat up the way, say, the soles would. However, if you want to experiment, you could also do the bullet in solid copper. You could also do the bullet in solid brass if you want to make it heavier. You could also do it in exotic metals if you want to see what kind of performance you're going to get, especially with regard to stability and extreme range. However, Keep in mind that we're talking 4,000 plus or minus feet per second. Actually, we know we've pressed 5,000 and I understand that the guys, about what we were talking about last night, and we know this from other experiments, actually achieve speeds of, with certain cartridges, 7,000 feet per second. Bring it in the general direction. No lead time. Yeah, guys, there's nothing to lead. There's no lead up by a half football field. Think about this for air defense. There is no lead time. the projectile, then if you point it and you look and you pull the trigger, there isn't time to think about it. It's there. Think about the performance of this thing. Now, the other thing is, delivered energy, we're going to figure it out. It's going to be kind of impressive. Now, there are other issues with regard to, with regard to actually, as somebody pointed out, that cartridge like that, supercharging at that range, you might actually have a vapor trail. In fact, you probably will. at a certain range. Now it depends on, again, performance and distance travel because remember greater than the amount of resistance, which is minor. We're not talking like a brick wall, but what we are talking about is progressive resistance, which builds up calories in the bullet, which transfers the projectile in different forms depending upon the metal, and causes certain environment. That's how it works. We're still talking a monster cartridge here. We're talking great performance. Here's where you go. I built you up now. We got enough time just before the top of the hour. Everybody get your pen and paper up there. Come on. I gave you plenty of time and you should have known I was going to do this. Get your pen and paper out. You can call J&D components, Orem, Utah. The telephone number is 801-07-2WW. Actually, let's just forget the WW. Drop that. That's the N symbol. If that's right over the number seven dot com components dot com the address is the components 75 East 350 North I like that number 75 East 350 North in Orem, Utah 857 the components 75 East be 507 the phone number again 801 to you just want to figure out what you can do with these you can get a hundred of them for six plus shipping, you'll like that. You're going to get $50 for $1,000. But if you go up to like $5K or more, you get them down to $4 an hour. You'll beat the price. Yeah. So a simple little bullet guide tool that goes inside your loading dies, all of that's available through the company. All the loading specs are on site. We were going through it last night. All the minimal loading specs. And you know, they're using safe specs. You can read that again. You have to do with patience. And you can load the specs. And you take a look at the numbers on the website. It's J. These things are so simple to make for the guy who is making them because he has the machinery. You can't afford not to have some of these on the shelf. They are going to be very, very desirable for long-term performance and cheap reloading for your .308 rifle for range practice. Sabo Cup and Bullet and .223 is cheaper right now than .30 caliber bullets. So I hear the music, hopeful you're awake, you've got to get to work. Come on people, get out of bed, let's go. It's a beautiful morning here across the country, y'all still breathing? We plan on winning the war. God bless the Republic. Just for the new world order. We shall prevail ladies and gentlemen. The Empire is on the run. We are on the march both day and night. And at 4,800 feet per second, they will never ever hear it coming. Whack. Ow, ow, ow. Plop. Thank you, Don. God bless you, Mark. God bless you, America.
