Mark Koernke discussed extreme weather fluctuations affecting Arizona and Michigan, including a 60-degree temperature shift in Arizona and unseasonable cold in Michigan, emphasizing the importance of preparedness and proper cold-weather gear for field operations. He covered leptospirosis (a serious infectious disease transmitted through contaminated water) with medical details on symptoms and treatment, and discussed field sanitation as critical to survival. The show included segments on veterinary care for dogs, specifically addressing electrical shock injuries and eye injuries in canines, with practical first-aid guidance. Koernke also recounted historical piracy on the Great Lakes during Prohibition, including the discovery of underground smuggling pipelines used to transport alcohol across the Detroit River.
I had a dream the other night that, well, I didn't understand. A figure walked in through the mist with a flintlock in his hand. His clothes were torn and dirty as he stood there by my bed. He took off his three-cornered hat, and speaking low to me, he said, we've fought a revolution to secure our liberty. We wrote the Constitution as a shield from tyranny. For future generations, this legacy we gave. In this, the land of the free. and home of the brave. The freedoms we secured for you we hoped you'd always keep. The tyrants labored endlessly while your parents were asleep. Your freedom's gone, your courage lost, you're no more than a slave. In this the land of the free and home of the brave. You buy permits to travel and permits to own a gun. Permits to start a business or to build a place for one. On land that you believe you own, you pay a yearly rent. Although you have no voice in saying how the money's spent, your children must attend a school that doesn't educate, and your Christian values can't be taught according to the state. You read about the current news in a regulated press, and you pay a tax you do not owe to please the IRS. Your money is no longer made of silver nor of gold. You trade your wealth for paper so your life can be controlled. You pay for crimes that make our nation turn from God and shame. You've taken Satan's number. You've traded in your name. You've given government control to those who do you harm so they could burn down churches and seize the family farm. And keep our country deep in debt. Put men of God in jail. Harash your fellow countrymen while corrupted courts prevail. Your public servants don't uphold the solemn oaths they've sworn. and your daughters visit doctors so their children won't be born. Your leaders send artillery and guns to foreign shores and send your sons to slaughter fighting other people's wars. Can you regain the freedoms for which we fought and died? Or don't you have the courage or the faith to stand with pride? And are there no more values for which you'll fight to save? Or do you wish your children to live in fear and be a slave? Oh, sons of the Republic. Arise, take a stand, defend the Constitution, the Supreme Law of the land. Preserve our great republic and each God-given right. And pray to God to keep the torch of freedom bright. As Iowoki vanished in the midst of whence he came. His words were true, we are not free, but we have ourselves to blame. For even now as tyrants trampled each God-given right, we only watch him tremble, too afraid to stand and fight. If he stood by your bedside to dream while you were asleep and wondered what remains of the freedoms he fought to keep, what would be your answer if he called out from the grave, dill the land of the free? on We the People Radio Network and WTPRN.com. We do have Mike up here again. Mike, you're there? Yes, I am. How is it? Are the wolves at the gate down there? And let's see, it must be like right next to Petersburg, Russia by the sound of it right now. Something. It was 110 degrees on Monday, and this morning it was 48 degrees. And we've had about two inches of rain in the last 24 hours, and the wind is just howling out here. You're actually looking at a 60 degree temperature shift during the season and again dropping down into the colder ranges. So this must be, well have we had Al Gore up there jumping up and down talking about global cooling warming or global warming cooling? Something, I don't know. We usually hit 100 around the 1st of May and we didn't hit 100 until the 18th of May. But, and that is what I, the weather man, say anything about setting records about. being so late to hit 100 and now they just don't know. Well that's when of course they're all quiet about the global warming cooling slash global cooling warming slash warming cooling slash well is that we're having some unique weather across the country in general. We've had some cold spikes up here. Now we're in the opposite end of the country for all five purposes. You're down in the down off the Sierra range there. You've got let's see the Nogales Valley or well actually the Hachuca Valley which runs down Nogales. kind of works like a funnel and pulls everything down through the state that way. In fact, you get some pretty monster winds in the Hachuca Valley Range that can get up into the 80, 90 mile an hour mark. I was down there, I was down there in Port Hachuca. And its interest used to have road warnings. If you had a small car or if you had a motorcycle, they would tell you to get off the road and they would arrest you if you were on the road as a traffic hazard years ago. So that part of the country, being over there where the Rockies are, has a little different weather formation, alien to everything we're seeing up here. And yet, up here in Michigan, we've had some untimely, out of sync, very cold here again. In fact, I've been up in the wee hours in the morning and it has gotten, I mean, and it does get still at night, guys, I know that. But we're talking deathly still. And there's been like, actually like a pall, like a cold pall from above. that's been hanging over the peninsula here because at night, 2 o'clock, 3 o'clock, 4 o'clock in the morning, it has just been dead still and quiet, but also extremely cold down in the same temperature ranges. I think it spiked down into that 40 range, 40 mark a couple of times over the last 72 hours. flash early morning. So this kind of weather is not just being seen in one place, but it's interesting that no discussion about, well, perhaps this is part of the next phase in global freezing. Perhaps the guys in the seventies, hey, maybe these guys are lying to us completely convincing us, get rid of our cold weather gear, because in reality we will be under 58 feet of ice. Oh, okay. I'll tell you how about it's weather changes. They're typical, but there's something we have to be prepared for and adjust accordingly. That would be our best bet. If we work on it, then let me see what I can do passing on other information that will have to work that out and make it a little more sensible with regard to mapping. I know all of you can do that. It's just a matter of, it's not a matter of just a matter of when. We'll do more of an overview, get more of a, I think, a cognizant picture of what's actually transpiring, but including the historical chart, the historical references. And I think that that's one of the things that they also they're not bringing up down. They always bring highs. They always say, well, this is the highest in 100 years. Well, how about just overall mapping? In other words, other than the estimations, I have a big problem with archaeological estimations. I don't believe that they're any more reliable than all the dozens of other different types of voodoo systems that they've come up with over the years and had to drop when it comes to estimating. But within man's recorded period, OK, where we've been micro recording, we have pretty accurate references for the whole of the planet and in fact any of the civilized areas so to speak where we've had human beings on site we've had scientific associations we've had other groups that uh... have been recording just raw data that data has all been compiled a lot of it well no especially one side or another may not want people to see other parts of i mean i'd rather see the whole picture And I think that's one of the biggest complications here is, well, let's go back a bit. Think about it. You know, if you're seeing that extreme cold weather down there, you know, when I was down in Fort Echuca, while I was there, Mike, it was stated that this was some of the coldest weather that we had had in Arizona in 100 years. been that we had for the first time in a hundred years snow came down below the 2000 foot mark and I was mountain climbing the day that that happened came down off of the off of the maces and walked down out of the out of the mountain range and the snow followed us right down below the 2000 foot mark all the way back to the base. It was kind of interesting because you couldn't even tell that this was going to happen. Even watching the satellite, they hadn't really predicted it properly. And of course, weather was a little less predictable as far as being scandally reported in the 70s, not like today. Well, today it's kind of as bad as then because of lack of reporting. But it's interesting that right now, I think this is, again, one of those situations where the weather shift, at the very least, 60 degrees is a real hammer to the metabolism. Yeah, I know it was all sorts of the t-shirt and tennis shoes do on Monday and Tuesday and I I get a pair of jeans on a t-shirt a quilted shirt and I had two jackets on this morning. Oh, you're from Arizona anyway It's kind of odd, you know, you can leave from here and get on on an airplane and fly over to San Francisco and expect that big of a change but boy, oh boy, you know You're sitting here, your body's all starting to gear up, it goes to the 70s, then to the 80s, then to the 90s, and we kind of fluctuated around in there for a while. All of a sudden, well here's the 100s, okay, and all of a sudden a couple of days later, we're, you know, they didn't think that it was even going to get into the 70s today. Well, I hear again, this is why one of the things we've talked about is preparation, being ready for everything with your combat gear and your combat load. All the troops that I've trained for years, people always wonder, well, why do you always want to carry your, like your thermal liners? You know, it's like, well, it's a summer, it's not going to get that, yeah, okay, well, you get that one day where you're out there in the middle of nowhere, you've gotten wet, your core temperature is going down, you know, the cold weather gear actually can serve many, many different purposes. But at the very least, example, a 60 degree weather shift, if you mentioned if you were in the field under those conditions. The average soldier working in desert operations, of course, does have some limited cold weather gear with him because during the day it gets incredibly hot and then at night the temperature just doesn't stick with you. So there are fluctuations, but not 60 degree or 70 degree fluctuations like we're seeing here. I mean on occasion in the deep desert where it's sand and nothing else, but this is a little better conditions than you find, say, in the Sahara. The problem is that a group of soldiers or, you know, militia in the field, if they were not properly squared away with the backup equipment that they should be carrying, could be caught in a very bad situation. And again, at the very least, remember, if you are experiencing cold injuries or thermal core loss, then all kinds of other things kick in that help to create problems with the body physically. And these degrade the performance of the soldier. So again, you always carry glove liners and you carry your gloves. You always carry spares. People always wonder, well, why do you carry so many? Until we get out there and we get wet and somebody goes, okay, I'm going to do this once. But after this, I expect to see two, three, or four sets on you. Glove liners are meant to be cheap, so you could buy lots of them. They're made out of wool, so when they get wet, they'll retain the heat to a degree. But they're going to get wet, you pull them out of the shell, you put another dry pair on, you get on with work. With regard to cold weather operations or any kind of operations what I mentioned earlier there's what they feel pant liners and field jacket liners There are different grades and there are different types Well invest in a set and carry them as a second like a backup thermal layer uh... another thing that can be used are long jobs people go all the way close jobs well okay we're not worrying about fashion statement here and i'm not going to see in your skivvies trust me about that if i do i look at you know what i mean more you know it's good and all the dvd don't you know what all my i'm sorry that they didn't anyway that if it is we want to know that person is real quick you know what i mean to do it before That's for sure. You know, you're talking about temperature changes. I've mentioned it before that. You know, you got a bunch of high. They got over here and they thought, oh, you know, we're over here in Iraqi desert. It's just going to be hotter than so. They didn't think they did. They didn't take that. And then pretty soon they got caught in one of these freaks. You know, they were being pursued by the Iraqi army. And as they made their way up, then pretty soon it was snow and they didn't have any cold weather gear with them at all. And they were with her. happen. It can happen within. So this is one again one of the reasons that we're looking at the other thing I would have to mention is this although it can be a crisis situation of you know an accident or something you'd be stuck on foot in a situation where you can't move out of the area where the way you normally would the way you'd like to. Casualties you have to tend you may be a casualty yourself you're stuck in location waiting for assistance and or until you can you can attract assistance. If you're in combat operations, it's not an eight hour job. Oh, uh, eight hours, four o'clock, guys, Mike, it's time to go home. When do we check out? Punch out and go, yeah. Yeah, well, can we go back to the trucks now? It's cold and they're shooting at us. Sorry, it doesn't work that way, okay. So you've got to be carrying what you're going to use with you or what you may need with you, and you have to have a short list of that, obviously because we've got to keep our overall combat load as light as possible while still being service effective. We're going to be back in about three minutes. We the people radio network WTPRN.com got Mike Nasser covering medical subject again today Here on we the people radio network. This is Steve shank j. And they had been hiking and everything in the jungle and up and down hills and everything. up in the stream and everybody told him not to and twisted on it and died from it. The subject findings there's going to be a sudden onset of fever usually between 102 and 104 degrees. You're going to have chills, abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting. The wind was starting to break up here and there was the sun had come out a little while ago but now it's clouded up and it's just raining like there ain't no out here. So, but anyway, that's Leptosporosia. If you want to find out about what happens, go ahead and get a hold of the book with them. Find out how you can almost die by thinking that you're just going to clean up a little bit. And again, this goes back to the beginning of our started back in October. where we started off with field sanitation. You know, the body is pretty strong. When you start contaminated water, contaminated water, it can really be action and then you've become guilty and then it's going to take one to replace you, two to evacuate you and 10 more people to treat you. So make sure of where, what you're drinking, what you're eating, keep your body strong, keep those vitamins and everything up and your body's drink. and it will help you resist this stuff, but it will be a real resistance about this cleanliness stuff that somehow you can get lapsed into this feeling of where you've got to take a bath because you think. What a little cute little thing, of course, Ed brought up here, one of the local radio stations, they had a Coast Guard representative up. And he was talking about why, yes, in recent times here, we have even had to respond to piracy on the Great Lakes. The piracy of luxury liners, you know, luxury cruisers and such on the Great Lakes being taken. And, ah-ha, yeah, when they're swinging across the yard arm, don't you know, lads? Right here in the Great Lake of Huron. I had the bloody pirate sword there from Canada or from wherever they were from. But anyway, you picture, you know, immediately you say pirate people and people are picturing, you know, the eye patches and you've got to have the hook or you're not one of the pirates, don't you know? Well, in this case, yeah, I think they're a little more sophisticated than that. But, and needless to say, there might be some other, those transactions going on that created part of that problem because you never know what was in the boat. This is the Great Lakes and there is they're going back to the Rum Runner days. Okay, how many people remember that you know during prohibition? For all the boats are above water and this is kind of cool because you know they always do the romantic part showing you the high-speed boats and for those you haven't seen that there were whole Smuggling rings were set up that way and while everybody was chasing the boats around Mike Back in the, what was it, 19, I think it was 1991, and before that, last time before that, was in 1984-85. They were doing some construction on the Detroit Riverfront, and they came across these strange pipelines. Now these were very well engineered pipelines, and they came up out of the river. And they thought, oh, maybe it's Edison. No, it's not electrical. Well, maybe it's something to do with oil or like maybe a barge or something. Maybe you had a barge dump point. No, no. And they checked to see what was in the pipes. And guess what was in those large 3 and 4 inch and 6 inch pipes? Almost as good. Some of the finest rum that pirates drink. Yo ho ho. And scotch, by the way. Now think about this, while everybody was watching all those boats and chasing everybody back and forth, the industrial pirates, you know, the kosher mafia on the Canadian side, were busy cooperating with those brewers who were across the way, and they didn't worry about kegs or they didn't worry about bottles pumping by the gallon. Pumping by the gallon. Nobody found these things, or at least let's put it this way. If Officer O'Malley came to the door, How's your warehouse today? Well, out of the door would be flashed a big brown envelope. Officer O'Malley would see nothing around those warehouses, don't you know? And he'd continue on down the street to the rest of his beat. Meanwhile, the kegs, barrels, and tanker trucks... were being filled up by pressure pump from across the Canadian side of the Detroit River over to our side. And it wasn't like they found one set of these guys. We're talking a whole different batch were found 10 years apart from each other. Now it was an amazing thing when they said, oh, look what we discovered here. And that was rather unique. And they followed the pipes back to the other side. So they also knew where they went. But they kind of didn't follow up on the rest of that story you know can we call harvey was missing or normally be the rest of the story so just little things about the great lakes because our canadian frontier and you know the fact we have another country across the way from us my favorite is that with the rome runners one of the cutest ones with the cabin cruisers work completely uh... belly down the inside absolutely nothing we had the windows they had all of the uh... Trappings on the outside look like very nice, you know, criss craft, you know, tri-deckers, double-deckers. But on the inside, and I'm not exaggerating because I've been in a couple of these, I've been sitting docked, you know, I've been dry docked for god knows how many years, they go down the inside, Mike, they were that big. And they weren't fishing boats, you know, they weren't carrying fishing nets. They were designed to roll nice big barrels of stuff. onto the boat over on the Canadian side and then they would be traveling across the short way and then docking somewhere and rolling those fine kegs of whiskey and rum over to the places in the old warehouse district in the northern part of Detroit where they would be imbibed by many people. Don't you know? That was by the Bronx, wasn't it? Yeah, of course you weren't really Irish. Maybe the Jewish Irish. Last one was CNN Bergman, something or others. And O'Malley, O'Malleybergs. You know, the O'Malleybergs and the O'Malleysteins. The Mac O'Malleybergs. It is fascinating because the more you know about it, if you know the history of Detroit guys, you know, yep, we had the gangsters here just like they had the gangsters in Chicago. And most of the gangsters there were Jewish just like most of the gangsters here were too. have you ever look up the purple gang figure out who they were real quick or moita incorporated there's another one anyway we just want to bring it up because it was a new thing a unique thing piracy on the on the great lakes of michigan and uh... will be political more as we get a little more on that report will follow up on that one I'll tell you what, we're going to follow up with a little bit of veterinary care here because we do worry about our four-footed friends. I got a 200-pound one here. He's doing a fine job. In fact, he just came back. My youngest boy gave him a nice long walk into town. He's part of the patrol and part of the security operations for the property. And we want to make sure that they're safe and secure. We want to make sure they're healthy too because they are eyes and ears that we don't have. Maybe not necessarily the eyes with all dogs, but you got to admit guys and gals that old sniffer and those old ears work a hell of a lot better than the average human being does. So they're very handy as security measures to identify a threat. And again, you can't stay up 24 hours a day, but those little dog ears pay. They're pretty active almost all the time once they've got territory to protect. So we want to make sure they stay healthy. So Mike, a score ahead, please. Okay. Very good. Uh, yesterday we were covering electric. of trying to jump into the middle of it, we'll just go right very beginning. So we're paid for dogs and electrical. Now, electric shock, it can cause cardiac arrest and it's also burn the body. And although chewing on the electric is a common cause of electrocution, power lines, lightning, and they can also cause, and the instance of common male dogs can receive a series if they urinate on exposure wires or other things. So some of the things that you want to for if the dog has been exposed to electric current and is the dog convulsing? Is it unconscious? Is there no heartbeat? And is it empty? It's bladder and bowel. And if any of those things, especially if it's not breathing and no heartbeat, you need to initiate and you need to evacuate it to the vet right away. The next, if none of those have happened, but if you notice that they're where the burn is, if it's redness, in the mouth, the puppies, and then see the vet the same day. Just as a review, your signs and symptoms, you're going to have pain, gums, breathing, weak and rapid pulse, or both extremities and general weakness.
