Summary
Mark Koernke hosted an extended interview with Dave Lauck of Spyder Firearms about .50 caliber rifle systems, specifically the Ferret 50 modular upper receiver platform. The discussion covered technical specifications including barrel options, wildcat cartridge development, recoil management through muzzle brakes, optics recommendations ranging from budget to premium scopes, and the simplicity of converting standard AR-15 lower receivers. Koernke and Lauck also discussed the 50 Caliber Shooters Association, international competition shooting, and efforts to secure military base range access on the East Coast for sanctioned matches.

I had a dream the other night that, well, I didn't understand. A figure walked him through the mist with a flintlock in his hand. His clothes were torn and dirty as he stood there by my bed. He took off his three-cornered hat, and speaking low to me, he said, we've fought a revolution to secure our liberty. We wrote the Constitution as a shield from tyranny. For future generations, this legacy we gave. In this, the land of the free. and home of the brave. The freedoms we secured for you we hoped you'd always keep. But tyrants labored endlessly while your parents were asleep. Your freedom's gone, your courage lost, you're no more than a slave. In this, the land of the free and home of the brave. You buy permits to travel and permits to own a gun. Permits to start a business or to build a place for one. On land that you believe you own, you pay a yearly rent. Although you have no voice in saying how the money's spent, your children must attend a school that doesn't educate, and your Christian values can't be taught according to the state. You read about the current news in a regulated press, and you pay a tax you do not owe to please the IRS. Your money is no longer made of silver nor of gold. You trade your wealth for paper so your life can be controlled. You pay for crimes that make our nation turn from God and shame. You've taken Satan's number and you've traded in your name. You've given government control to those who do you harm so they could burn down churches and seize the family farm and keep our country deep in debt. Put men of God in jail. Harash your fellow countrymen while corrupted courts prevail. Your public servants don't uphold the solemn oaths they've sworn. And your daughters visit doctors, so their children will be born. Your leaders send artillery and guns to foreign shores, and send your sons to slaughter fighting other people's wars. Can you regain the freedoms for which we fought and died? Or don't you have the courage or the faith to stand with pride? And are there no more values for which you'll fight to save? Or do you wish your children to live in fear and be a slave? Oh, sons of the Republic. Arise, take a stand, defend the Constitution, the Supreme Law of the land. Preserve our great Republican, each God-given right. And pray to God to keep the torch of freedom bright. As Iowa key vanished in the midst of whence he came. His words were true, we are not free, but we have ourselves to blame. For even now as tyrants trampled, each God-given right. We only watch and tremble, too afraid to stand and fight. If he stood by your bedside in a dream while you were asleep and wondered what remains of the freedoms he fought to keep, what would be your answer if he called out from the grave, dill the land of the free? Ladies and gentlemen, you are listening to us on We The People Radio Network, WTPRN.com. That's We The People Radio Network. We're also on Liberty Tree Radio dot 4MG dot com. That's Liberty Tree Radio dot 4MG dot com. And on AM and FM major stations, AM and FM micro stations, CB base stations, and ultra net technologies east and west of the Mississippi. Well, today is the middle of the week and that means of March, it also means it's Wednesday, guys, that's weaponist, and more than once, it's ahead. So if you lean your ear toward the radio. I would say that we can now return equal opportunity for us if somebody is foolish or stupid enough to enter the perimeter. And 1911A1 with one on the tube and nine more to follow up should do just fine. So I think we're starting, we've started out pretty well on the right foot, but For those of you who feel the bad guys or the coyotes or the, well, the big critters out there that you might want to put a bullet into need to be at maximum range. We're going to cover a very, well, popular subject tonight, aren't we, Don? Yes, we are this evening, California. You know, what are you doing? I'm actually a long range rifle in Lapua all the way machine gun cartridge. That 1%. God bless John Holes is grounded. We have, we, unfortunately, we have again, uh, an opportunity for people out there listening. Now pay attention. And I want to remind everybody too, because all of our programs here on We The People Radio Network are archived. So if you are listening to this, but you want somebody else to hear it, don't panic and go, Oh my goodness, where's the record button? Remember, if all else fails, you can always go to wtprn.com, go to the archives and you'll be able to pull this program up along with all the other programming we've done for the last year and then some. So. It's an opportunity for you to be taught a little bit and if you have questions we're going to open up the call in line here today too of course and you'll be able to ask Dave, whatever you like about his systems and how they work and how they can integrate with a lot of other rifles. And as I said, big game, the 338 Lapua for instance is definitely a masterful cartridge unto itself isn't it? Very accurate cartridge. Now you're looking at a number of different loads for this, but now the 50 course we go up to 50. We're going to work our way down. Now Don has had some time on the range with a half inch of guns too, so you guys have had a lot of fun at different times over the last several years because there's also an association that you're with too, isn't there? Yes, there is. I'm on the board of directors of the 50 caliber shooters association. Hard to get somebody up from that. Skip that pretty big feet and those are tough shoes to fill, but I will do my best. And most important here too, now again, the 50 caliber shooters association, let's play some ground work here. They are virtually across the whole of the nation, aren't they? Yes, and international. Here's a question some people have asked before. With the international shoots, are you able to take your weapons with you? You know, it's kind of a per country basis, some countries you can. Some countries it's pretty much whoever's there can, we could go and any weapons into those countries is forbidden. where you cannot have and that shoot take also used in the military. The 50 DTC Europe. Now incidentally that cartridge came from France because of that situation. So you know across the world we're all helping each other to continue to fire these big guns. Bill Ritchie built that guy. Yes and pretty much across the whole industry. Me, Serbu, most of your intermediate manufacturers seen guns in those calibers. I think they have yet to treat that will get around the California, you know, much adopted the DTC round and it fires this. How it catches 50 will not put you in prison in California. It's most important. I guess my question there again for a lot of our listeners, this will be something they might be curious about too. With the Wildcat 50 did you did you go down in the length of the case or completely reconfigure the shoulder and the throat? The case is shortened. Basically, this is a process to wildcat it. you shorten the case run it to a dt c uh... sizing die in your chamber a cartridge is shorter steeper anger on the shoulders and i've been seeing that this is little more consistent uh... accuracy but as of all wildcat and it has its own wildcat it's a gift take tuition will be the big thing here now we if we have a person certain cases that might be damaged a little bit If as long as it's not weakened in the shoulder dramatically or there isn't a major fracture, then we could be downsizing to the next, to the wildcat load to save brass, to actually recycle brass that much farther without having to worry about sacrificing it to something else. Cartridge life, and you can get 25s out of a piece of brass. Going down the road, situations might make brass. I think it's into another area. Let's back up a little bit for our listeners, because some people are brand new to the half-inch guns. Go ahead and give us an overview of the family of rifles or upper receiver groups that you produce right now. Produce is called the Ferret 50 and it's a modular weapon system. We'll go back to 2001 when we began. We were the first ones to introduce 50 caliber conversion for the AR-15. AR-15 M16 rifle pulled the upper end off, put an 18 inch barrel to our system that we can design here in our shop just about any gun that you need. We've even serviced customers who are handicapped in wheelchairs. They're 50 caliber just like anybody else. So we have a flexible weapon system so that a customer can start out with an 18 inch barrel upper and change the barrels for assembly, hand guards, bipod, and grow into this system as they choose. And buys their first 50 and says, well, I'm going to go shoot with the big guys. But you know, after you've fired it for a couple of years, you might have the itch. with a whole complete new weapon system and you can take what you're comfortable with and modify it into, I'm one of these guys, you know, my background is hot rodding. And, you know, if I can't put a wrench to it, I don't want it. So when I designed a weapon, I said, you know what, my guys are going to want to work on their gun. It's easy to work on, but a lifetime warranty. Oops, you don't have the threat. You call me, say, hey, Dave, you send it to me. I'll fix it and send it right back. This is, in my opinion, what it's all about. We take care of, treat each other with respect. our parts are made here in my shop except for the barrel and the muzzle brake. The muzzle brake we buy are from another US manufacturer and our barrels are made right here in the US. Now you know most important here you mentioned barrel length for instance now one of the things too since you have a barrel change out system correct? Well then for instance something we were talking about a minute ago is let's say that we have a whole bunch of browning M250 caliber brass or you know loaded ammunition and we're using it. Now it would behoove the shooter for long-term use and let's allow for all the crazy things that can happen with the nutcases and handgun control incorporated that they might try to cut off brass or ammunition. It would behoove the person to buy the second barrel to buy that wildcat barrel, wouldn't it? That way once the brass wears out or starts to tire, we at least can switch over to the next size down. Yeah, still use all the basic components. All the powders are the same, right? Yeah. All the powders are the same? There we go. So there's the solution. There's a two barrel system right there that extends the life, or at least your service time, on the range. I just like the idea of recycling. Don knows how I am about that. Yep. So it's from the leastest. That's right. We keep on shrinking it down and eventually make it into something else. And when we're done, we'll cut it up for scrap brass and cast it out again to something else we can use. The beautiful thing about this now, and this is where our listeners, I know the ears are prickling here, this drops right down onto a standard AR-15 lower receiver. So everybody out there that's got a basic AR-15 receiver, let's say they might have a spare one, they upgraded, they went to another rifle, or they went to another lower, but they have a nice one sitting there, but it's just a plain Jane lower receiver. It would work just fine, wouldn't it? Yes, it would. And a lot of my customers are varminters, So they take their AR-15 for the 200, 300 yard shots. But if they see a prairie dog off at 1,500 yards, you're not going to hit it with a .223. In two or three seconds, they're in the .50 caliber and they've sent a round to a prairie dog to a .50, help me! Especially if any of those tactics can be translated into any other scenario that we can prepare ourselves for. It's usually a versatile weapon system. One of the things that should be pointed out, if you can hit a prairie dog, you can hit bigger targets a lot easier. Yes, okay, I think that's one of the videos I have here by the way guys is from from the east coast, a certain state where they actually have what they call the three county chute. And from one point on one hill, it can see into three counties and the primary target through the whole three county area is the marmot. Which of course like the prairie dog is a quick target and that is very unique and of course plentiful because it's a rodent right say what Dave you stay where you are, please and You have Donna mark here. So you guys real quick before I go any farther I guess everybody would ask this when you say ferret firearms now, I know the concept here It's like, you know, this is that small. This is a small package when you look at really what you built and but it's got real teeth but I picture that ferret with foghorn lighthorn chewing on his leg. See you boy, you're bothering me boy, get off! I remember at the end he's always dragging foghorn lighthorn off the screen and back to the coop. So this is definitely definitely. Again now you've got a lot of good work that you've been doing and you are you're constantly in R&D, one thing that is good. There's people listening that have always had some ideas or they may actually have worked with other 50s and they'd like to see things tweaked so you're you've got an open ear to that don't you? yes i do a lot of my customers compete in competition that's an active sport off your standing still you're going backwards Yep, exactly. Now, before we go any farther, and you know, Don, we know we gotta do this, but we gotta make sure that Dave gets all his contact information out, so listen carefully. If you're on the road, pull off to the side for a minute. Don't go panicking and swerving back and forth trying to find the pen. Pull off the road, and Dave is gonna give all the information out so you can get hold of him in whatever way you need to. So Dave, go right ahead, please. Okay, the name of my company is Spyder. Our physical address is 2005-9-1-1-2-1-2-1-2-1-2-1-2-1-2-1-2-1-2-1-2-1-2-1-2-1-2-1-2-1-2-1-2-1-2-1-2-1-2-1-2-1-2-1-2-1-2-1- Ash B is in boy, Merkot, C-O-T-T, and that's in St. Cloud, O-U-D, Florida, three four seven one. The telephone number here, seven a.m., I'm sorry, 10 a.m. to seven p.m., Monday through Friday, and that's Eastern Standard Time. The telephone number is four zero seven, five seven, one seven, and that number again, nine five seven, also be seen on the internet and that address is www.ferret50.com. uh... we uh... well not only the barrel for fifty cal but we know we were close to the book or author barrel uh... we seldom there's line of savage replacement barrel uh... incidentally i use the same barrel system is going to have it for the most act going they could savage through the barrel out there was a replacement and you're talking about the art of show it's under two thousand yards uh... with the barrel their dropping Excellent. Now again, they can custom order length. I saw that you had at least two basic lengths that were available, but will you cut to custom length? All of the Savage barrels are completely done by Lothar Walther. We don't touch them. That's because of the warranty issue, I would assume. And those guys know barrels like nobody's business. So we let them do that. And that's 50 cal. I'm a little more intimate about what goes on my guns. So someone says, hey, i don't like the thirty six i don't like the twenty nine on thirty two and a half they will get a thirty two and a half we do that here if they could uh... we've worked with the mother of caribbean manufacturers on the price double the sometimes triple more talking the custom uh... barrel understand uh... but certainly we can do it can't be all we can do a uh... pack nor on their there's a barrel manufacturers uh... now i would kind of that one of the point is that uh... we'll customer else because there are people that are that again as you said are into competition shooting, they have a certain niche, they have a certain area where they want that weapon engineered, they're tweaking it for that reason. But the average weapon that you produce, I should say upper receiver group that you produce out of the box is ready to run, it will cut paper out to maximum range, it's gonna perform because you guys are tradesmen, I know that. You guys are actually, you're skilled, you're the skilled tradesman that this nation was built upon, which we talk about all the time. And for that reason, one of the reasons why we want to see you up on the air and we would hope that again the guys that are in the association would be working in this direction is more exposure means more people understand that this is a unique American process. Most of the other countries, although there's a few that actually have a whole lot of other toys that we, not just toys, but real weapons of defense. that we can't have, but the 50 caliber in this cycle, it's been a unique American experience, hasn't it? Yes, it has. Yes, it has. Everybody kind of caught on to it around the world and said, hey, he's doing that? I think we got something like that we can do too, or at least we can get one of theirs and make it work a little better or try to make it work just as well in our country. Exactly. How many, you know, we're going to bounce around a little bit for one, but one little question that ties in with that is how many other countries right now are the competitions in? I believe two or three and pretty much they're associates of the FCSA, they're members, but they kind of do their own thing because they're sort of isolated. They really can't come over here with their guns, very difficult to get over to there, but I think we're looking at UK, there's some stuff that goes on, Switzerland and some other places that are approaching the idea. I guess I'd ask is Finland, no i noticed and one of them got a lot of other stuff that they're very very possession of the heavy had a chance to talk to the people in Finland you unfortunately i have not uh... but but i did not know that another country that things to bounce around conversation and you believe there may be one or two sheets that happen out there interestingly enough these guys end up shooting their matches on military bases uh... that's an interesting situation because here in the united states military base on reason after nine eleven to be on there. Working with for the past year, and he runs an organization that's affiliated with the FDSA, his group is called North Coast Shooters, North Coast Shooters dot com. He has now arranged to put matches on a six-story basis. Guy knows his stuff. He's a Vietnam veteran, police veteran for 20 years, and he's retired. And if you know what, he paid taxes for these rural funding. fifty-caliber matches been shot on camp harry and there will be another one uh... later this year so they're really hard back with uh... we deserve some range time on on since very people look out for that on the east coast because we do need more of a fifty caliber presence here in the east coast An interesting time with that, guys, is the fact that, remember, they cannot argue. Now, remember, they have the Department of Civil and Marksmanship's replacement because of the, you know, because of what happened in the 90s with the Clintonistas. Although Bush was leaning in this direction, too, Clinton did a tremendous amount of damage to the DCM inventory, destroying millions of weapons that could have been in our strategic reserve. But... For use of the range, one of the things, and remember it can't pair you, you've got the rifle qualification with the M16 that is done so that you can actually qualify to buy from the former DCM an M1 Garand. Now, the M250 caliber round is used in a military configured rifle, so the 50s out there on that range are legitimate just as a Barrett when it's used in the military or military application. That's the angle you can hit them at because we have sniper rifles that are in that grade used by the infantry right now. Tell you what guys, we're going to go to break, hear the music, this is the intel report, we got Dave and we got Dom, and this is Mark, back in three minutes. You can also get them in a uh let's get your contacts out again. Your phone number is 407 957 3617 and number again is 17 it's www ferris 50 certainly performance is uh what you know A lot of these guys are after when they're looking for a .50 caliber because it's a lot of money. That first page, their performance... ...a lot of pinky little small groups. Exactly. Now again with the design, let's take a look at the situation here. For the average shooter, I've got an AR-15, I've got an AR-15A2, standard stock, with a regular military barrel on board. What all do I need to do to put your upper receiver on that rifle? Basically you pull your upper assembly off. You're going to need to remove the hold open catch. It's located right in front of the trigger. That takes two seconds. It's one pin. Move the buffer and spring. All you have to do is press that little D-tit and all of it comes right out. Pin through. Guys, we're talking so ridiculously simple that it actually takes less time than it took for him to describe it. Yes. However, as an instructor, I would like you to do just exactly that. If you have people that are students, as you walk them through step by step, take your time, let's go slow. Now, let's describe the upper action because it's a both action, correct? Correct. So everybody out there that has ever handled any of the standard Bambi rifles of Model 70, the 700, the Savage series of rifles? A K98 Mauser, they shouldn't have any problem figuring out how this rifle will how this this system works is I will point something out here This is important for all of our listeners. This is not considered a firearm. Is it? No, it's not it's considered part So this for everybody listening think about what we're saying here. You're buying nothing more than an upper receiver parts system Exactly. There's no restrictions on that and it ships right to your door No background check. All I need is a credit card and an address to shift to the question that. Remember, don't take any watch on that one. You've got to make sure you have the FRN slash the digits to cover the cost. But then again, when you look, if you get a chance, go to the website or take a look at any of these. You might have a friend who was talking about one. You've never gone over to look at it. Well, I'll tell you what, take the time and go over and look at the system, the way it's set up. friendly it's so simple it's ridiculous now there's a couple things we could talk about how what i would look for a little what i would look to do uh... with it configured in the field uh... now you're not sure not looking at all and we're looking at bipod system what type of bipod are using the right for who were with that action with the system we manufacture own bipod here uh... attached by three screws it's not a helping bipod this is not a machine gun it's a rigid bipod position every time you shoot at just meant in the link do make a version with it and when you see Bami, make your shot offhand. You don't have to get on the ground with the bipod. Perfect. And again, 18 pounds loaded weight. Excellent. And we're looking for anybody out there now, granted that's not a five pound or seven pound AR-15. That's what that other upper receiver is for. And another interesting thing we should point out about that is that in the field, you could actually be carrying, like you said, two guns in one. hard case the 50 and have that ready to go but have it on a shoulder mount, shoulder fixture on the backpack or have that on the weapon and have the AR shoulder packed and when you need to switch over all you have to do is just like I said go through the motions, re-station the components and re-case the 50 and you're back to 223 or whatever caliber your flavor of weapon is that you're running at the moment. Exactly. Now here's something I'm going to ask. I'm going to put this on the air for you because I've got other people that have been working on this. And this is total sidebar, but Mark's thinking about it and then we might as well plant the seed. There's a lot of five, four, five Russian out there. If a barrel hasn't been made for it yet, I would beg that you make a barrel for that. The reason I say it is because there's so much of it out there, it's the least expensive round of fire in a small caliber right now, in a light rifle caliber. There's going to be a lot of it around for a bit because I know several of the guys have brought the stuff in brought in you know many millions of rounds and it's a unique niche I understand but it would be worth offering the barrel because That particular system is one of those that's going to be around when other Calibers may dry up the rest the way simply for lack of availability an option another thing is the air 15 which of course from the air 15 upper in 545 would fill a very specific niche. There's no changing the mags. The 545 by 39 drops right in. Magazine well would be the same. The only thing that's changing is that upper. And if somebody came up with a really nice, tight little package, very simple, kiss, keep it simple, stupid, nothing fancy, a nice little tack driver, 545 does the job and does it, you know, just as the 223 does out to the same ranges. That would be an idea. But still talking half-inch and a little smaller to the 338 Lapua. Now here's another thing that I know people are going to ask. You do offer iron sights with the rifle? Yes. So everybody out there listening, remember, even if you couldn't afford the optics right away, you can put iron sights on this rifle or this system because it's not a rifle and it's not complete until you put it on a lower AR-15 receiver. But you've got the option to go with iron sights at any given time. And then for optics, what flavor of optics would you recommend? Well, you know, everyone has different budgets and we'll start at the bottom. We'll work our way up. At the $300 price range, you can go to SWFA.com and they still have Asco Super Sniper. That scope is a, it's got a 42 millimeter objective and it's a pretty rugged scope. When I first started getting into needed two or three scopes and was not made of cash. So thousands of rounds through each of those scopes, we only had one failure to the factory. The pretty good value for the customers who were looking for something economical. The next step up at around the $750 range is to burst black diamond knives. Several customers, some of which shoot competable rings to function just like a scope should keep you on target. For the customers who are serious about competition or that like to have that they can get range of the Leopold's in the night force a recognized name for quality are and I use on my gun is the night force now I use a there you go but a half to 22 excellent radical my personal guns are used mainly for competition I will say that the CH3 ethical you lose a radical as soon as you're off the target PR2 is a very very good reticle for both competition and two I've built the several guns for special we do a lot of custom work to use the US Optics SN9. Now you're talking runs for about $3,000 to $6,000. One particular one, you'll see it on the home page, it'll cost more than the gun. But it's a very wide range. But US Optics is certainly the Maserati. Many times you'll see, and that's kind of common, worth more than the gun. Yes. And we'll talk more on that when we come back from break. Thank you. the We might hear him in our earpiece here in a minute, but in the meantime, I'll tell you what we're going to do. We're going to continue with some other questions that have been most common. We covered the bipod. We know that we can get an iron sight system for this, this, this, this pod. We've covered the scopes. Now, let's talk a little bit about the compensator. What are we looking at for the average shooter who's used, for instance, a 300 wind mag, 30 out of 6, 308, 8 millimeter, maybe 303 British. Where does this sit as far as comfort zone for the average shooter? I would say, okay, here is the difference with this gun. With the .50 caliber, we have a slower build of pressure. Size with the .30 on sticks, you've got maximum pressure within about an inch and a half of that bullet being down to four, and that translates to be about .1 seconds. You get that sharp .50 caliber, we don't reach maximum pressure to almost one millisecond, inches down the barrel. What that recoil translates to is a big shove. It feels like a big guy shoving you. In terms of force, I would say take a heavy shotgun about 12, 15 pounds, and a 50 caliber is going to feel like. An 11 year old skeet shooter could handle this system. I have a video on YouTube of an 80 pound, 13 year old, about 80 pounds. He's just a fighter and he's shooting one of our heavier recoiling rifles on military loads. him in the gun only come back about an inch and a half, two inches. Are there scratches on the barrel? He's a little bigger, he's a little bigger. Wait a minute, he's a little bigger. Imagine that, you guys. That would be kind of fun, wouldn't it? I have to use paint though, I couldn't scratch the barrel, I'm sorry. Now that's one of the questions I know is going to come up with people because again, now where the recoil disappears though really is in that compensator that you actually, we covered earlier on. uh... they would all the fifties obviously that was the significant engineering step board now it's not that it was completely new the russians had compensators on their's uh... the boys fifty five any tank rifle which of course was a step up from the fifty had a compensator that also reduced me on both muzzle climb and felt recoil and that's what these uh... this company doesn't on your upper correct exactly exactly we've got two phases of recall in any weapon is the acceleration of that projectile and the only thing that can come combat that recoil is weight. It leaves, we've got a lot of pressure that acts like a jet. So this muzzle brake at the end of the barrel, it's that gasses and basically redirects them to the side. And what we're losing is that jetting action out the front. It's coming to the side, of course, equal mounts both sides and cancel each other out. We lose this. Of course, if you are a heavier bullet... for the championships about four years ago. Just one gentleman and I hear, everybody looks that way and I turn, all I do is, you know, he'll turn and look right at him and everybody's looking at him and he looks around and says, he's rubbing his shoulder, got to put my... You know, every time at the Nationals I'd walk up and he would always, you know, he would always have a crowd of people around his bench because he's a 50 caliber. And he'd always take his muzzle brake and place it, when he pulled it off the gun, place it under the trigger. and he'd look around at people and say, you know why I put it there, Don Jesus? Because I used to leave it by the front of the gun until I forgot to put it back one day. Now I put it back here, well I'll definitely remember it. And it only takes one time, but pulling a trigger without the muzzle brake to say, wow, we don't want to do that again. Now we know why they built it. He was lucky he didn't brake, but again, that comes from doing the same thing over and over and 50, it was a, one with a small group of people. Mark, you know the person who offered up the gun and, uh, about an inch off his shoulder. Yeah he did, he tried that once. I think that's most important is one thing we've emphasized here is remember that once that weapon is seated and once you're in place and you know where that round is hitting, you want a minimal amount of motion because your body, your musculature and your skeletal structure are set. Yes, and you're in place with the rifle. Once that first round is cleaned out there, other than just the cyclic action with the one arm to move the bolt and then of course recover the round accordingly for reloading, uh... everything else should be staying in place unless you've got a long time shot where you can actually set the weapon down you've got it i know that i'm not very which courses you guys are using right now but you know as a long long guns typically you had a what it was a short fire pace and you had a long fire pace there was a you know so many minutes time but it was all it was the seems like an attorney when you've got nothing but focusing on the target on the range And, you know, five seconds sounds like a short time, but in reality with pistol, five seconds is an eternity for an experienced competition shooter to belt five rounds cyclically and keep them into a nice quarter-sized group at 50 yards. Well, just for information's sake, we're shooting a competition with the FCSA. We've got one relay per class per day, and you've got a 10-minute fighter, then 10 minutes fighting for record, then the technique for the end of your fighter, in position because sit down for 10 minutes behind a big gun like that you get tired you wait till you're on target you know your gun set you take that last minute fire around and then when you go to record you keep that same position yep exactly We're at the top of the hour, Dave. Bar? So much for a half hour. Well, Dave, can you come up with us again? Certainly. OK, well, hopefully we'll again give the phone number out one more time, please. 407-957-3617. Thank you. Did you read this? Chicago just became the murder capital of America. I don't understand. It's been a felony to have a gun since 95. I thought that was supposed to prevent murders. I didn't increase them. Criminals will always find a way to get guns, while the rest of us are just left defenseless. Chicago authorities have seized over 75,000 firearms since 1995. And now, Chicago's murder rate is twice as high as New York City. Tonight, while you're asleep, criminals will be at work. Not in Kennesaw, Georgia. In 1982, our city passed a law requiring every household to have a gun. It terrified the criminals, and our violent crime rate is now 75% below the national average. We sleep well here in Kennesaw. Americans who own guns prevent over a million violent crimes every year and save lives. Get the facts. Visit armedandsecure.org. That's armedandsecure.org.
