Summary
Mark Koernke discussed grassroots campaign strategies for Ron Paul's 2008 presidential campaign, including direct mail tactics using phone directories to reach voters in Super Tuesday states. He addressed media bias and censorship of Ron Paul coverage, comparing it to past militia movement coverage. The show covered preparedness topics including local communications networks, radio systems, and tactical training with emphasis on ambidextrous firearm handling and one-handed weapon operation. Koernke discussed the 1911 pistol design, ammunition sourcing, and provided contact information for ammunition suppliers. He referenced an NPR broadcast from January 11, 2008 about foreign troops policing the United States.

I had a dream the other night that, well, I didn't understand. A figure walked in through the mist with a flintlock in his hand. His clothes were torn and dirty as he stood there by my bed. He took off his three-cornered hat and speaking low to me, he said, we've fought a revolution to secure our liberty. We wrote the Constitution as a shield from tyranny. For future generations, this legacy we gave. In this, the land of the free. and home of the brave. The freedoms we secured for you we hoped you'd always keep. The tyrants labored endlessly while your parents were asleep. Your freedom's gone, your courage lost, you're no more than a slave. In this the land of the free and home of the brave. You buy permits to travel and permits to own a gun. Permits to start a business or to build a place for one. On land that you believe you own, you pay a yearly rent. Although you have no voice in saying how the money's spent, your children must attend a school that doesn't educate, and your Christian values can't be taught according to the state. You read about the current news in a regulated press, and you pay a tax you do not owe to please the IRS. Your money is no longer made of silver nor of gold. You trade your wealth for paper so your life can be controlled. You pay for crimes that make our nation turn from God and shame. You've taken Satan's number. You've traded in your name. You've given government control to those who do you harm so they could burn down churches and seize the family farm and keep our country deep and yet. Put men of God in jail. Harash your fellow countrymen while corrupted courts prevail. Your public servants don't uphold the solemn oaths they've sworn. and your daughters visit doctors so their children will be born. Your leaders send artillery and guns to foreign shores and send your sons to slaughter fighting other people's wars. Can you regain the freedoms for which we fought and died? Or don't you have the courage or the faith to stand with pride? And are there no more values for which you will fight to save? Or do you wish your children to live in fear and be a slave? Oh, sons of the Republic, arise. Take a stand. Defend the Constitution, the Supreme Law of the land. Preserve our great Republic and each God given right. And pray to God to keep the torch of freedom bright. As Iowoki vanished in the midst of whence he came. His words were true. We are not free, but we have ourselves to blame. For even now as tyrants trample each God-given right, we only watch and tremble, too afraid to stand and fight. If he stood by your bedside in a dream while you were asleep and wondered what remains of the freedoms he fought to keep, what would be your answer if he called out from the grave, and dill the land of the free? one day closer to victory for all of our brothers and sisters both on and behind the lines in occupied territories south, southwest, east and south. Well, we're around there, but I'm pretty sure you're right. The 27th today and Monday is we've got a whole lot of stuff on the plate, a lot of things happening around the country. Everybody's getting ready for the Super Tuesday effort that's going to be coming up here in a bit with Ron DePaul. Let me point something out here. If you're sitting in a state where there's already been a primary and you have Ron Paul information on the shelf, guys, send it to somebody in a state or ideally send it to a number of somebodies in other states where there are still going to be primaries. Don't let the stuff sit there on the shelf and don't get forlorned about the idea you didn't use it all up. Guess what? Take our resource and redirect it. Now, one of the ways you can do that for our friends that are listening, you want to have some fun and do your own mailing? or at least this way help out in a way where you know it goes directly to where it needs to be. Now, do you know somebody, for instance, in Alabama or Georgia? These are two states where they're going to have, you know, again, the Super Tuesday, they're part of the Super Tuesday process, right? Well, if you know somebody down there in Georgia, got a phone book handy, tell them to go to the phone book, and if their phone books have both the name, the street, usually with the address, and they even have the zip code listed, for each of the addresses, a lot of them do, most of them do, have them shoot a couple of pages to you. Tell them, hey, I got a whole bunch of Ron Paul stuff here. Oh, really? Well, great. Send a couple of pages immediately. Don't hesitate. Don't wait. Have them photocopy the pages and shoot them to you in the mail. And here's what you do. You take your pick of names, start from the top of the page, ideally, and everyone that's a complete address where you can send, you know, everything you need. You've got the name, you've got the street name and number, you've got the city name or the village name, usually it's an abbreviation form or abbreviation, it's right there printed out in one form or another, and you have the zip code along with the phone number. Well don't worry about the phone number, the idea is take that complete address, make up an envelope, put a whole bunch of good Ron Paul stuff in it as a variety thing of what you have sitting on the shelf there and send it to that address. and then go to the next one go to the next one what's it gonna cost you it's gonna cost you the stamps so here's the thing rather than worry about you know like if you're gonna want to donate this is a way to donate to the round call effort and it's in a totally oblique fashion that nobody can do anything about it there's no way they can stop it the cool thing is that it's totally random so it's unpredictable Well, you picked one of the outlying areas of Georgia and away from Atlanta and you just start saturating those areas in this way. And everybody listening, if you're in Michigan, hey, do the northern part of Georgia or northern part of Alabama. If you're in Florida and your primary is already done, but it's not because actually Florida is coming up here though, guys. Well, what you... Okay, if you're in one of the other states like in New Hampshire or if you're, say, in Iowa, Well, if you're Ron Paul supporter, there's a whole bunch of other areas around you like Oklahoma or take your pick of, the heck is the other one that was up there that really jumped out at me. Oh, Arizona, New Mexico. Hey, there's nice, easy states to cover, sparsely populated, but it's up to you. You guys got to pick an area, pick picking shoes at your discretion, take however many stamps you can purchase, or if you want to really get motivated. Let's say you got 200. Here's a little trick here also. Let's say you got 200 envelopes you can stuff with Ron Paul things. Okay? I'll tell you what, if you have 200 or 250, I can't remember what the cutoff is now for bulk mail. But if you're willing to do 200 envelopes, don't spend 41 cents. Go to the post office and pay for pre-sorted, okay? Pray for bulk mail postage. If you can do 200 or whatever the limit is on the envelopes right now, and shoot them out and save that many more dollars. Okay? Now think about it. You save that many more dollars. That means you can do another wave with whatever else you have left. Hey, how simple that is. But again, totally random. I've done this many, many times. I constantly do this. In fact, to be quite honest, let me show you something here. Hear this? Okay, I assume I can do this. I can't throw this up to a camera and go, see this? We hear that scratching. That's letters that are going out that are just like what I'm describing. They randomly go out every day. I got plenty of radio to do, I got all kinds of stuff, but whenever I find a few extra old stamps or stamps off other envelopes, they go onto an envelope, the information on how to find this goes in them, and they get shot out to odd locations. And what do I use for a database? the very thing I told you about utilizing the phone book directories and the address information that's in there accordingly for Oklahoma, for South Dakota, for Wisconsin, for Minnesota. I didn't mail all over the country. This one's going to go to these particular batches, all Missouri, state of Missouri. That's what that bundle's headed. That's how it works. If you would like to include both you guys, it would be the Ron Paul campaign donation address. Yeah. In seconds, you know, 0-1, chance to, you know, off the chalkboard. I would make a point of sending something in the mail. It doesn't have to be much, it doesn't have to be everything you own, but if everybody just did a little constantly, this trickle feed times a million million people, gah, wow, I'll tell you what, we could deal with any problem, and in fact we can right now deal with any problem that faces us. I know there's much lamentation, gnashing of teeth and mending of hair, or that Ron Paul isn't being covered. Well, that's not a surprise. Now, what we said right from the beginning on this, all of you are seeing, nah, I'm gonna rub this in. I've talked about this on the air for years. We've talked about, you know, the protests that we did in the late 80s. And I'm gonna, and again, it's redundant for a reason. We have seen this before with events where we have had a million people on the ground. Do you think a million people, are a million people easily ignored, Don? No, not at all. And yet, not ABC, NBC, CBS or CNN would cover these pro-firearms protests. A total of seven different rallies like this or events that were major protests. One was the best one was in Columbus, not the best one, but one of them that jumped out was the one in Columbus, Ohio, because people from all over the Midwest and all over the states came there and shut down the eight city blocks of the downtown area solid. You could not drive a car. You could not move down the sidewalks. There was no place to go. And not ABC, NBC, CBS or CNN covered it. Now you're seeing this presidential race. You are seeing first hand what all of us in the Patriot Movement have seen with everything from the coverage of the militia to the Patriot Movement itself, the kind of lies and mudslinging that are generated by the yellow journalists and it's really the yapping heads. We already know this. We always laugh at them. We always laugh at them when they have that microphone they go, wouldn't you like to get your message out? And I have to retort them. Well, I've retort to them. Well, of course, that's why we do radio because we know we'll never get our message out with you. And they all go, oh, you know, like we're supposed to go, oh look, the press. Instead of it's, ah, it's that smell. That's either Grand Moff Tarkin or it's the press. Oh, it was the press. Yeah, they stay, there's much nastier than Grand Moff Tarkin from Star Wars. Remember that line that Princess Leia used? I smelled your fall stitch when I came on board. Well, in this case, if we can smell them moving down the road, the controlled press, remember, there's a big hand stuck up below the fundamental orifice in there between their cheeks, and that icky, greasy, smelly hand that's covered with, you know what, with the thumb and the fingers are moving their jaws. The editors and the manipulators who are the manager-managers slash handlers of the station's people are the talking heads, are the real talking heads. Otherwise, the ones up in front of the camera are meat puppets, okay? Now with that understanding, you're seeing now what we've tried to explain to people and I've had people tell me, oh no, it just doesn't work like that. Oh yes, it really does work like that. Look, you're seeing it, Phil, and, okay, prize. Now, what this means, weren't everybody before. You are our media. You are going to have to do the job. You're not gonna, you know, the limitations are complaining. Throw that BS out the window. Instead, once an operational area has been covered, the idea is to take the resources we have from that operational area and use it to support the others which still have not voted. In addition, we still need to make sure, for instance, like New Hampshire, where we're seeing the recounting taking place. Now, whether or not that's completed all the way, I don't think it's finished yet. Well, we need manpower there. Are you in another state nearby where you can help? Have you stepped forward to do that? Well, you need to. of people have been pulling a lot of weight here you don't need to do everything but everybody pitched in on a little bit of something it would go that much farther and i think we're still going to do better as we go because old again we've already seen people drop out of this race ron paul has been successful in hitting the number two mark at the very least and i think that's mostly a lie i think he's done better and i'd be the first one to tell you that But again, the controlled media, ABC, NBC, CBS, Communist News Network, CNN, and of course Fox, FAUX, they're all part of the agenda. They're terrified. Yeah, but not meaning what you might think it means. Yeah, don't confuse that. FAUX, I spelled it for a reason. Okay. But yeah, there again, don't be, I don't hear any bemoaning on this. Other than just to point out, yep, they're doing what we expected them to do. Now, meanwhile, you'll notice Mark has never, never ridiculed anybody that's working in the political arena. But I have asked one thing, that you in the same breath will prepare and arm yourself to defend your liberty. Because we have to have all of our insurance policies in place. Now, would that be the case? Well, vote with your wallet also at the same time when it comes to taking care of yourself by buying more ammunition every day that you can, whenever you can afford to, even if it's only 50 rounds of 22 long rifle ammo. We'll be back in about a few minutes here. I hear the music. You got Donna Mark, Intel Report, first hour. It is Monday, first of the week. We'll be back in about three minutes and we the people, radio network. You guys, one more time. 3W's dot. Bo. Now you guys, you know I'm not command, I am on nobody's lead. I'll be quiet now. Now again, take the time to check out the website and another thing, we've got a whole bunch of other people, uh oh, we have a bunch of other people who are helping us with work on the East Coast with some of the follow-up to our communications test this weekend, which went very, very well. In fact, it was exceptional. Everybody did a fine job of putting all of the technology up and online down. We had VHF, we had UHF, we had shortwave. Ultranet, everything was plugged in, and this is part of our ongoing test at rapid pace, by the way, to keep everybody plugged in, if and when. the other side decides to unplug the system. In fact, the only people that are going to inconvenience are their own people, not us. And another thing that we've been recommending and it's been happening is to do local phone nets. Now this is something that if you have a small town, I'll give you an example, we did two things and people go, oh look at my cell phone, cell phone's useless, cell phone's totally monitorable and can be shut off or turned down at their discretion people. However, ground line communications between all sites, small communities, is a very simple and real mission. It's very easily done. So what we need is for all of you to start thinking this way. If you have a small community of 10, 15, or 20 homes with a few businesses, well, like Peddico Junction, it's not that hard to set up a small central operator, independently wire everything yourself, And away you go. Now that doesn't mean you drop your CB radios, which by the way is another thing most people think, why Mark, why do you want CB radios? You know, they won't be good for a real, real long range, although you can put some really cool amplifiers on them, some exciters. The point is that CBs are another thing for local communications with low power, even though they're AM wave, even though they're AM transmitters, or that means you can talk just within your area. For those of you who are soldiers, I'd ask that you explain to people about how radio hubs and nets work because, you know, for instance, Don, a lot of people have thought, well, we need to have a really powerful radio for my headset. Really? Do you need to talk to the other side of Michigan when you're moving a 10-man fire team? It's non-participant. Privacy might be a very good thing. In fact, privacy is preferred. So what they do is you actually limit the range and you go with lower powered transmitters for close in use. the fire teams and the squads or your family talking amongst themselves while somebody goes down to the grocery store or somebody goes over to the flea market or somebody goes to get gas, well those are all short-range transmissions. You don't need to talk, you don't need to have the most powerful transmitter on the planet for that. Now, having powerful transmitters for doing your long distance calling is another story altogether, which is why you have stacked systems or are there ways that you can actually vary the output for instance even on CVs you can go from local, remember that little button on your machine you probably didn't use half the time? You can knock down your transmission so that it's local or closer, working car to car or within a very short distance, hit the switch and all of a sudden you're back out full range with whatever kind of box you've got. There was a reason for that, that way you didn't have to worry about all the other background chatter and also making a lot of background chatter for other people who might be trying to use the same frequencies. Now the same is true at the strategic level. We also use what are considered to be beam technology. In other words, we're focusing very tight beam, a very, very tight transmission for a very short period of time using both voice, using key, and using automated data transmission. If you ever hear that term PIP, that means I can tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick beam it out, shoot it out with one spike transmission, the other end catches it, and then they turn around, slow it down, and you can hear it just as it was originally spoken, if you need to hear it, as it was originally transmitted, it's electronic information. These are solutions that are already in place, there's overlapping technologies, some of them became kind of dead end, which is really cool because we picked them up, and they're not standard anywhere. This is also true of computer systems, there's a lot of systems out there that were actually very desirable, that are no longer really talking with the main system, the main frames out there with any of your computers and in fact they're talking in unique languages that cannot be intercepted or for that matter could not quickly be, shall we say, decrypted simply because they're not speaking the same, in other words they're speaking Swahili while your computer is speaking English, okay? Best way to describe it. There's no quick facing that can take place that's going to allow them to adjust or compensate for what you're doing. And this is thanks to a lot of our people out there who are research personnel who are retired or who are working in communications that have saved a lot of cool stuff that was on the shelf. This is how all of you need to be thinking. You don't all need to be on the same page with everything. For local operations, we need to have you find the solution. Now the reason for that is when they look at Mark or they look at Don or they look at Fred or Wilma and they're thinking about doing something, if they were to engage somebody, Well, they've got, let's say that they acquire technology and information. What good does it do them if our operating procedure is one way and, Don, at your end of the state, your operating procedure is, hey, wait a minute, now there's no print, there's no footprint, there's no map that works. And that's how it's also, it should be with our militia units the same way, not just with communications, but also with combat. I hear all these people going, well, we should do it this way. We do it. This is how the system does it. So we know, you know, that's the problem. The system does it, so they're familiar with it. We addressed this, though. or so ago, Mark, when we talked about the British during the American Revolution. That's right. Which they were just, well, well... And a totally different person that you're going to have to deal with that has a different philosophy on life. And that is part of the whole concept of winning the battlefield. This is something that we have to remember. Just wait until you come across that left-handed guy. Oil, poise. Should have been practicing with that side of the body, shouldn't you? Yep. Oops. That's right. In fact, that's why you counter thrust and thrust and counter thrust first is determined by posture. We're going to be back in about three minutes here. We the people re-enact network down in Mark and... ...for the first time since the JFK assassination. We have used the Watergate mantra of follow the money, which has led us to a startling revelation on the identity of the mastermind behind the crime. When you're in a high, start taking fire from, gee, you're not certain, but you know, you cling to one wall. And at that wall, you're not subject to being shot at because you can't be seen. Now, as you move closer to the intersection to try to gain contact, come under fire again, and you find that, well, gee, I have to move to the other wall. Now, if you're right-handed and that other wall is the right wall, cut that gun to the left hand or too long on that, do you? Right hand or shooting from the right shoulder. And again, for years, the reason why this episode has And as a sidebar is also the way that they were training, say, through the 70s and into the early 80s, realization there was a need for training more troops in this fashion, not just American forces, but also people in general who were ending up having used weapons. A tremendous resistance to this simply because the average person would prefer to shoot with his strong hand. or strong arm, in other words, the one eye is typically stronger. Now a lot of people, even if they have a strong left eye, have actually adapted their shooting stance so that they will use their right hand and of course their right handed shooting stance because it's simply, it ergonomically feels better for them. It's how they've been conditioned and how they've learned to use their weapon. Situations where you should learn to use both your left hand for pistol operations your personal side arm with your left hand as the dominant hand and also for shooting as I said around corners obstacles and in other situations where perhaps you're injured but you have to continue to fight remember your enemy is going to continue his action no matter what transpires you have to continue to fight and if you're going to be part of the integrated combat team or the defense force depending on the situation you're in You've got to be prepared for this situation. You don't want to be this doesn't you don't want this to be a on the job experience? Okay, OJT because sometimes that kind of on the job experience you don't survive So beforehand it is a good idea and here's one of the places where you can do this now March gonna rub this in again Airsoft a law is very forgiving Okay, think about this a lot of you're not used to using your left hand as your dominant as you as your dominant hand Go to the airsoft weapons training systems, the training aids, have that airsoft weapon and start practicing left-handed. Take a look at what it is you're having problems with it with regard to complication. Remember that most of what you do with your right hand is conditioned training and repetition response. If you start doing the same with your left hand, I'll tell you an example as I working with edged weapons, I had a terrible time. In fact, I had to do it for a couple of reasons because of certain injuries to other parts of the body which meant that i better start making sure that just in case the uh... other hand works that much better i was fortunate down because the instructors i had in the past emphasize antony extra space at the next risk of training utilizing both hands for both the pistol rifle and the blader slash edge weapons the other thing is again covering a person in hand in combat you're gonna wanna be able to change your posture to match your aggressor or you're going to get the snot stomped out of you. In fact, you see little joking versions of this with sword play, for instance, my favorite is remember, for those of you who enjoy videos, and we always use them as reference, the prince is bride. There you go, a nice little comedy slash a dark humor comedy, but remember when he goes, oh, and by the way, I can use the sword left-handed too. And his opponent is like, oh, don't. You know, immediately they have to be, you know, he realizes that his counterpart, that they're, where they're fencing, he's just as well trained as a lefty too. But the assumption is that the average person isn't thinking that way. So we're going to plant this seed now so that you people can start to work at it. Now where can you work at this economically? And with a great deal of safety, the airsoft weapons, both in the hand, the simulated handguns and the simulated rifles. Chance to not waste ammunition. By the way, you go get that 52 count or 100 count toy soldiers from the dollar store and you use them as reusable targets and you focus on actually engaging a target that looks kind of like what you're going to have to be shooting at, at specific ranges. Now with the lefty, you're going to get a little frustrated, but don't worry, that's why they make 5000 count BB bottles. Practice, practice, practice. practice practice practice now by the way that includes using the charging handle actually operating the safety remembering where everything is and having to remember it in reverse order because the left hand has to work a little differently but it can be done don't say it can't be done we've been doing it for years also again the issue of well perhaps someday unfortunately you might lose use of that right arm i think you better be ready for that just in general if you're a combat infantryman and you may have to be using a left arm from now on. And a lot of guys know this from practical experience. They may not have all of that right arm there. It's not going to work so easy on a pair of jeans that's with no straight into your body and you drag that slide open and when it is open you remove it quickly. Again, remember the .45 was back from the horse cavalry days and actually had a couple other features designed specifically for that reason under the assumption that only one hand may be available to actually operate the firearm. They actually took that into consideration when they built the weapon back in the day as they say. So it's not a new idea. concept is founded upon the experience that's unique to the era but it folds over into our daytime now uh... with regard to uh... real quick here in fact you know what my youngest has passed us on to me again keep your pen and paper hand here before going farther i don't want to forget this today national pabble radio you know that is that's the uh... controlled government radio that's well it's not any worse or better than you know the other control radio networks like a b c n b c c bs cnn And NPR is one of the mandatory, when you do an FCC contract, they tell you you're going to either take like CNN or you're going to take NPR as news service, but you must take one or the other because both of those are the controlled voice on the regular stations. Say what we're going to do, we're going to go to break here. I'm going to come continue with this when we get back, but a couple of NPR dates we want you to write down. This is the Intel Report. And if I did not run that correction, you guys, it is 28, January 28th. They won't sell me a ticket on the 28th. Probably been there tomorrow. Or any day. They speak against the New World Order, so, oh my goodness, they just can't let us down those New World Order aircraft. Oh, wow, why? Because we've probably talked to passengers, which we have done in the past. You know, a little subnote on that. When we flew, all over the country i would always carry all of the uh... information we collected from most recent activities you know that that really was probably quite damaging for the bad guys control a lot of people you can always pick out with a rain knockers were this you know swap and spit with the bad guys because we start talking especially like on the seven thirty sevens with uh... uh... southwestern airlines because they were pretty loose as far as how they were sitting and they were cool the way the seating was set up because there were little pockets of seats that faced each other so you could play cards and do whatever you wanted and their seats were like first class seats with most of their airlines. Anyway, I'd pull out the pictures of the foreign troops, of the foreign equipment, and I mean not the limited pictures they like to show for the consumer, the public, so that they could lie about it. I'd have, you know, one or two inches worth of images, pictures, photographs, 35 millimeter, from each of the different activities, or like a one single activity, and we'd just show somebody who then somebody else would want to see it, and then somebody else had heard about it. By the time we're done, all these pictures were being passed all through the length of the plane. Plus we'd be handing out extra plane after a while, you know, I mean I usually had some but eventually I learned to have enough to give out to as many people as possible on the aircraft Because they wanted to take stuff with them really cool. So yeah, I can imagine it has nothing to do with us hijacking the plane But it does have everything to do with us having a captive audience. Yeah When you got the hours in a plane, you're looking for anything to try and keep you busy You don't I mean like anything could be entertaining and not in the movie isn't necessarily the choice, you know But anyway, just a point there that everybody can make a difference. We did it every chance we could and every form that we could. Anyway, real quick, NPR on the 11th of January 2008, National Pavlum Radio, NPR, oh I'm sorry, National Public Radio, NPR on the 11th of January 2008, specifically in their hourly news service. Now, let's go to their archives and see if you can have some fun here, whether or not they'll chop it, delete it, or just take the date off. foreign troops to police the united states npr eleventh of january two thousand eight hourly news a lot of people heard it some of you might recall it but if you didn't uh... double check that it's foreign troops to police the united states it's npr on the eleventh of january check with their archives two thousand eight but i'd say do it right now record it right now why before they remove That's right. So again, that's NPR on the 11th of January, 2008, foreign troops to police United States. It was in their hourly news broadcast. Okay. So you'll be able to find it. That's for all of your goal. Well, I don't think now, you know, it's interesting while we were talking about this, I was reminded of something about the 45, by the way, with one-handed operators. Remember that while certainly the cavalry soldier could guide his horse with his legs much, especially as an experienced rider. Most men being from the pre-war one period pretty much had handled the horse at one time or another because horses were pretty dominant in the county as far as travel goes even though buggies and bicycles and everything else was out there. Well, the 1911 was specifically designed for instance with a serrated hammer so that you could actually cock the weapon by running it along your patent leg. Now that's a trick that of course everybody learned pretty quick. Another thing is that the spur of the back of the back sight was also designed so that using it as a point, you could actually work the slide by pressing it into leather or pressing it on the edge of a piece of, like say, the saddle, pushing forward and actually activating the weapon, loading the weapon one-handed. Wow. So these techniques were already in place. I remember there was also a lanyard spur, not as popular because the leather could interfere, but there's actually a roll ring, if you'll notice in a lot of the 45s. It was there for a reason. It was designed so you could actually, if you had an extended piece of metal or something like a sharp piece of metal sticking up, if all else fails, if you couldn't brush it along the cloth, you could actually very quickly hook the hammer, push forward with a slight motion, the weapon was cocked. So these were little tricks of the trade that were used. This way you didn't have to lock the hammer back. Now the .45, 1911, is such a safe weapon. It has so many safety features. Browning, uh... going to his grave could be proud of that fireman knowing the look of this way you see what the great along time ago and this weapon certainly is has lived far far beyond his years and has been used in so many places on so many battlefields and the same so many men he was a defense weapon to protect themselves as part of the tools in the american toolbox that uh... you know well he can look down and smile or is to say everybody who's drawn a slight gone after his nine millimeter aren't they, Mark? Design is the litmus or the standard. Yes. Like, well how does it hold up to a 45? Well that should tell you something people. How does it hold up to a 1911? Doesn't that tell you something about that tool in the toolbox? No, that doesn't mean there aren't some nice pistols out there, because there are. And as I said before, there's a whole school of I like my team over yours, or you like your team and I don't like your team, or I like my team more than your team. uh... but the book the bottom line is is a world point our weapons the same way but for you know as far as flavors go nineteen eleven is the nice all if i can't shoot you with it i can beat the snot out of you and i'm probably gonna put you down okay how about that you put your power for frank dot now admitted you know if they just had you have an extra weight made out of steel it does help up on bonk bonk bonk when the time comes So again, concepts here. There's lots of 1911 parts out real quick. There's lots of magazines. There's stuff all over the place. Yeah, it's going to probably go through the next century, I think, and survive quite nicely simply because if the machining process continues, as we see, we're going to see the cost to build these things become less and less and less even because, again, every mother's uncle will have the machine to do it. In one form or another, the design picked up by someone. spare parts will be available. Springs, I think, will be the biggest issue and springs will still be out there because somebody will be making the parts. It's that simple. So it's a good choice. We'll be a good hit, of course, as an investment for those of you who collect the older 1911s are doing nothing but go. Now we do have some callers. We got George. We're almost at the top of the hour here. George from Florida. George, jump in there please. But again, this is why I got to stay near the phone. George from Florida. Okay, well I'll tell you what.
