Summary
Mark Koernke and Donald Betcher hosted Weapons Wednesday on November 28, 2007, focusing on combat load preparation and firearm equipment. The show emphasized purchasing surplus military equipment while available, particularly magazine pouches and maintenance tools for AK and AR-15 platforms, noting that prices increase over time as supplies dwindle. Guest Larry Pratt of Gun Owners of America discussed Second Amendment jurisprudence, the distinction between individual and collective rights, and recent court cases including the San Francisco handgun ban challenge, emphasizing the constitutional protection of the people's right to bear arms and the importance of the 9th and 10th Amendments in defending that right.

I had a dream the other night that, well, I didn't understand. A figure walked in through the mist with a flintlock in his hand. His clothes were torn and dirty as he stood there by my bed. He took off his three-cornered hat, and speaking low to me, he said, we've fought a revolution to secure our liberty. We wrote the Constitution as a shield from tyranny. For future generations, this legacy we gave. In this, the land of the free.
and home of the brave. The freedoms we secured for you we hoped you'd always keep. The tyrants labored endlessly while your parents were asleep. Your freedom's gone, your courage lost, you're no more than a slave. Invist the land of the free and home of the brave. You buy permits to travel and permits to own a gun. Permits to start a business or to build a place for one. On the land that you believe you own, you pay a yearly rent.
Although you have no voice in saying how the money's spent, your children must attend a school that doesn't educate, and your Christian values can't be taught according to the state. You read about the current news in a regulated press, and you pay a tax you do not owe to please the IRS. Your money is no longer made of silver nor of gold. You trade your wealth for paper so your life can be controlled.
You pay for crimes that make our nation turn from God and shame. You've taken Satan's number. You've traded in your name. You've given government control to those who do you harm so they could burn down churches and seize the family farm. And keep our country deep in debt. Put men of God in jail. Harash your fellow countrymen while corrupted courts prevail. Your public servants don't uphold the solemn oaths they've sworn.
and your daughters visit doctors so their children will be born. Your leaders send artillery and guns to foreign shores and send your sons to slaughter fighting other people's wars. Can you regain the freedoms for which we fought and died? Or don't you have the courage or the faith to stand with pride? And are there no more values for which you'll fight to save? Or do you wish your children to live in fear and be a slave?
O sons of the Republic, arise, take a stand, defend the Constitution, the supreme law of the land, preserve our great Republic and each God given right. And pray to God to keep the torch of freedom bright. As I awoke, he vanished in the midst of whence he came. His words were true, we are not free, but we have ourselves to blame.
For even now as tyrants trample each God-given right, we only watch him tremble, too afraid to stand and fight. If he stood by your bedside to dream while you were asleep and wondered what remains of the freedoms he fought to keep, what would be your answer if he called out from the grave, dill the land of the free?

Chances are with your four footer, your five footer, six footer, whatever, what's happened is a couple things have loosened up. Go out there, tighten things up, and you'll be amazed at how crisp your signal is. Now Don, today is a special day. Oh, today is 28 November. Hear that one hit the chain. What, with being weapons Wednesday, that means that of course we're going to be covering a number of subjects. We have a guest, hopefully in a little bit here. We have Larry Pratt coming up, correct Don? Yes. We are going to be passing out a lot of information.
where to find things. I cannot stress enough, the combat load is the big issue right now. A lot of you have thought through most of your equipment, but I will remind you again, if you have a firearm, chances are it's a military type or a, had some military foundation in when it was built. Now because of this, one country or many countries adopted that weapon system as its arm. They carried it in service, they had to figure out a whole sub-system for it.
so that when they got it out there in the field they could keep it fed or maintain the other opponents of the human being while he's in the field. Take advantage of the leftovers or the material that's out there surplus that's available to support that now. Now when you see surplus that ain't Walmart or Kmart people and even with Walmart or Kmart you don't know what company goes is going to go out of business next week but with surplus it is finite.
Just because it's in a catalog, I don't want to talk about people, just because it's in a catalog doesn't mean it's going to be there next year. In fact, I don't know if you know it's going to be there next week. So if you have a piece of equipment you like and it's something that works for you, I would recommend buy your extras now, especially some of these phenomenal sales or some cheap, cheap stuff we're going to be talking about here, but it's out there in mass. It'll be there for a while. It'll be there like the 75 cent AK-74 mags that we bought, oh, say about 10 years ago.
which are now $20 mags or $24 mags depending on who you buy them from. Now, ain't 75 cents no more. The other thing is that a lot of these items are, again, they're gonna be a glut on the market for a bit, and then they're gonna, even if they are there, they're gonna progressively go up in price. When you see these super sales on stuff, take advantage of it, pick up extras, put spares on the shelf for your 510 program. Not only do you have what you need for your weapon, but you have what you need for the other weapons you're going to issue out.
This includes mag pouches, spare parts kits, parts rolls for components. There's actually a lot of that stuff sitting out there. Look through the inventory, see what it is. There's a lot of it that's cheap. We're going to bring up mag pouches, for instance. Different combinations of mag pouches are a good idea. Now, let me give you a point here. And I was talking to one of our friends before the program, and it's something I wanted to bring up on the air.
uh... bloody carry the eight k seventy four the eight k uh... forty seven the uh... uh... a k s a k m uh... bulgarian romanian polish ad nauseam take your pick whatever a k it is it takes a thirty round magazine and it looks like an eight k okay so now if you do you probably got the four round or three round anywhere from a three round four round or five round eight k mag pouch of standard for the eastern european block countries understand that they're cheap
You may want to carry more mags, but you don't necessarily want to carry another eight or ten mags because once you start adding all this extra light stuff it doesn't become extra light real quick. You know what I mean? In other words, you carry five more mags on each side of you. Let's go this way. You got the three mag Polish pouches or Russian pouches. They got two in the back, one in the front. Or you got the four mag, East German, Russian, Austrian, Polish, mags uniformly dispersed.
of four 30 round mags, 30 rounds per, oh my goodness, you start talking pounds here. Now, you wanna carry more mags, but you don't necessarily wanna carry another 10 magazines, because you'd have to have that kind of a pouch configuration in place to mimic, in order to be able to carry more mags. The cool thing is, there's a bunch of two mag pouches that have come up. Where do these go? These go back to the left and right of your four mag or three mag pouches that you're already carrying.
What it does is it distributes the weight of the combat load uniformly around your pistol belt. Now, it allows you to carry four more mags without carrying a lot of extra weight. You don't create a lot of extra flop and slop because you got to remember, one of the things everybody learns real quick, and I've mentioned this, one of the reasons for training exercises is so that you can find out how your equipment works. Now, you go running through the woods, you're going to hear a bunch of click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click,
You start touching and feeling your gear and you find out, oh, wait a minute, this thing isn't quite secured right. You fix that, you break out the electrical tape, you silence what needs to be silenced and lock it in place so it doesn't move. And then you move a little farther and progressively you're going to find you're going to be much quieter in the field. Okay, now you can use, there's a number, you don't have to use electrical tape, that's up to you. That's Mark's old school method.
You can get black electrical tape, brown electrical tape, tan electrical tape, you can get green electrical tape, Kelly green electrical tape, hell to even make camouflage electrical tape now. That's your choice, okay, that's you. Whatever you got that's cheap, you use as a solution for a silencing tool. There's also all kinds of special purpose tapes out there now made to adhere and actually work with cloth, with nylon.
If you go to the camping supplies, you will find different types of special tapes that are for repairing gear in the field. Now we don't want blaze orange, blaze pink, or any of those really special blues like you find in San Francisco. Okay? We need a little more subdued. We've got to be tactic. So go there and find the dark colors. If you can't get it in the browns, at least get it in the grays, the black.
and you've got it to work with. Now, when you silence the gear, make sure again, check your flop points. A lot of times you have different connectors and keepers that are in place that are designed to keep your stuff on the gear. Most of the European stuff, hey, they're not stupid, they know they've got to work with people who may not have much of anything. So they usually have just a slide-on piece of cloth in the back and they might have some keepers that tighten that up.
take a look at the different systems, see what it is that you have to come up with to make it work, but don't damage it. Another little trick with these double mag pouches. I've mentioned this before about British Web Gear. They're actually pretty intelligent with their 50 series gear in that they put single mag pouches all over every pouch. Now the cool part about that, Don, is then you got like, you know, you can carry 20 mags or 30 mags, but the weight, again, is distributed all over your gear, not just to the front, not just to the back.
that way as you use the stuff up your sheet you know you're you're able to distribute your combat weight accordingly because we will wobble well that again we're giving ideas but you can take like these to make pouches their side-by-sides and by the way there's german ones for the h k sla 91 slash g3 others those mag pouches will also work with the f and f a l mag poucher the magazines twenty round mags uh... but these a k mag pouches on the mention here in a few minutes keep your pen and paper ready when the time comes but uh...
These can be sewn right onto the side of your backpacks, or they can be sewn right onto the side of your canvas butt packs, left and right, if you're not using those stations for your canteens. What does this do? It allows you to carry more mags in a uniform fashion, but also you've got a nice carrier that works. It's going to secure the mags. They're not going to flop out. They're not going to fall. The mag poucher's not going to fall apart, which is most important because they're industrial grade. They're not something aftermarket.
and uh... it gives you an opportunity to come up with a system that will work so that you you will know how it works in other words even in the darkness all your make coaches connect the same way all pockets work the same way you can reach in the darkness back to a certain point you know that out there the two mags all of this with the flap i pull this out of the flap down i quietly close it i can bring it back up by disengage my empty mag i reinsert my good mag congratulations mission done
That's the idea, come up with a system that works. But there are all kinds of little tricks of the trade we cover on the air here. One of them is breaking out the sewing kit and industrial canvas grade stitchery and stitching this stuff together so that it doesn't come apart. You know, that's something we've never mentioned on here before, you guys. If you don't have a sewing awl, you should get one. You don't have a sewing awl. Ropes apart, but you can sew with it. If you don't have one of those, you should put it on your want list.
And again, there's basic tools. This is something that we're talking about, like for instance, picking up all these pieces of web gear. There are also tools right now. Right now, Centrifier Systems has a whole bunch of the armorers tools for the AR-15 and for the AK-47 family of weapons, to include the SKS, by the way.
that are very very cheap they're available get the tools put them in your kit what's the big deal we're only talking a dollar per item or fifty cents per item you can afford to have the special tools you see what i mean don't wait until all men i wish i'd bought you go on you pick it up and all men mark said to get this but now they're fifteen dollars apiece for all i should i got to have twenty or thirty of them back when they were such and such a price well that's my whole point before you get to that we think all men i should have
I'm going to emphasize when I bring things up on the air there it is a needful thing. For all of you who are new to this, we wouldn't be mentioning it if it weren't for the fact that darn this is going to be really handy to have in the future. Now I will remind you something, you're going to be pulling AK-74s off probably from the hands of some cold dead UN troops, okay? Most everything that works on the AK as far as maintenance parts go, we work on the AK-74.
So when the time comes, it's real handy when you get hold of a rifle that somebody else had, you might have to readjust the sights for your needs. Only dropped once. Yeah, that's right. Actually, only pried once. Those fingers never want to release when the rigger sets in. We've got to get them when they're fresh. Anyway, point is that when the time comes when you're pulling them out of their hands, you've got to have the support equipment for those too. And you may have to make repairs. You may have to make adjustments. Example, things get shot.
Weapons get shot just like everything else does when you're recouping mp5s HK 91s HK 93s off of the bad guys or AK 74s or sig rifles or whatever You want to make sure that you have the tool so you can disassemble all the two of the weapons that are there In between two or three of them maybe make one or two really good ones Okay, Harold broken on one stock broken on other combine the parts you make a really nice one. Okay
Anyway, we're at the first break. We should have a guest up here. We'll find out when we come back on We The People Radio Network. This is the Intel report. Donna Mark.

Alright you guys we're back the intelligence report. You know that that is all in the game poker face go to poker face.com and get some of that music and being you know this that and the other one of these youngsters to replay device It's you know, it has my grandchildren Yeah into an argument over an iPod and boy That's what the other boy says boy says also that he said I do not want to fight your old boy with a gun pointed at the other I guess 12 year old boy and says I do not want to fight you now when I talked with you Larry about
immediate result.
and it gets into one of the issues it goes back for a vote to the duration of this nation if there is a relief that is available and this is legal and the uh... from a legal perspective and the government here is obligated but will not provide then it is the part of the people themselves are not obligated to follow through on the nonsense and it is neutralized the kitty law itself is actually neutralized missus something nobody has stepped forward with yet
But it's going to have to be dealt with here at a given point. Either A, we're getting into a shooting war in the United States and we'll all get cleaned up, or they're going to have to start acknowledging that when they create this massive bureaucracy and they do not provide relief, then there is no obligation on the part of the population to present themselves. In other words, they fail to follow through on the remedy.
and the remedy is a common sense issue remedy if they want to proceed with the myriad of laws tens upon tens of thousands per year that they generate now this is the element of common sense and common law that they don't want to discuss it's kind of like the issue of the whole thing with the bat faggots and all of the others come that we have out there that are generating all of these laws is that it's all taxation
now traditionally under american under under the american jurisprudence account of the bar constitutional law even the corporate law if you offer to get to correct the failure to compensate in other words the say that they have a fire on the requires a two dollar tax stamp if you didn't pay it the remedy is not for the government to waste the court for the person if they offered to present the tax in other words to present the two hundred dollars that the issue is no in void
Now that is a common sense, that is a traditional common sense issue that was brought forward in all of the courts, not just with firearms by the way, but any other form of tariff trade tax, any kind that would exist. The government, being of a police state mindset, is not concerned about using this law to make sure that taxes are paid on a subject. They are using the law as a strong arm method to suppress, oppress or destroy
or you know any item in fact in some cases even what you perceive as privileges inside the united states inside these united states and if the corporation is doing it otherwise if they're concerned if the if the genuine reason for passing the law were to be to deal with these taxes we've got to have our money the traditions of these of the of american jurisprudence dictates that if the monies are offered then there is no reason nor excuse to proceed
action through the courts. For again, it is a waste of the court's time and it also is it falls outside the logic or the common sense process of what the justice process was all about in the first place. Except where you have a machete instead and the other guy has the gun that's invading the castle. I had in mind that this guy was set up for gun laws pointing to him and really a similar case that had the discussion with before it began.
Another interesting thing about that that was brought up, as I understand, and some people, and by the way, sub-note, sidebar, is that his injury is something that could have been dealt with had somebody been trained in basic first aid. Probably true. I wondered about that. Because a leg injury was a femoral, it was an artery shot. He was hitting the leg and actually hitting the artery. But, you know, something that was discussed and we brought up many times, it's tied into anything with regard to overall operations.
simple first aid steps on the part of people who were right there who weren't knowledgeable would have dealt with it and neutralized the problem immediately. Or at least would have given him time so that emergency services could have been provided. Presumably a tourniquet being that simple. Yeah, well that gets into... Oh boy, that's a... You'd open a whole can of worms if you want to talk to me about tourniquets.
I'll tell you what, we're going to go to break here. We've got Larry Pratt, who's greatly appreciating bringing up Being Up and this is the Intel report. We'll be back, Don Mark, and Larry Pratt is a guest in three minutes on We the People Radio Network.

What are these so-called Republican frontrunners for president support? Amnesty for illegal aliens like liberals? Out of control spending like the Democrats? Nation building overseas? Wasn't that Bill Clinton's policy? Flip-flopping on the issues? What's Republican about any of that? The real Republican is Ron Paul. The Republicans are losing because they did not keep their promise to end big government at home and nation building overseas.
My record is different. Yes, Ron Paul's record is different. Ron Paul has never voted for a tax increase or an unbalanced budget. Ron Paul voted against amnesty for illegal aliens. We'll put it into the middle of the election so see gun ban. Things in mind. A criminal, the news flash, back in 1939 which have a pure Second Amendment case, no criminal.
get plaintiffs that would be able to typically would be drug lords in the neighborhood that she dropped the dog screaming. We live in this neighbor, a security guard, had a handgun given a permit. They didn't have anybody, but we're talking about this particular court, a department of the federal government, and if on anything enacted, a freshman member of the house held such a resolution, quite naked, and Corrigan and Bynum, they didn't do a blessed thing. Then when Bob Levy put his case together,
and get the just put together on the Bob Levy case you see government in their opposite the majority opinion are involved in the major confusion by anti-gunners anti should be necessary to the security of a key words of order of a century which is really the only when anybody action of an individual right embers of the Second Amendment as a way of guaranteeing a collective right a the 50 year colonial servant that had to come when come with was like
America Larry sue a militia until you took everything from him. Oh, that's interesting and a sort of somebody for a gun It's about the gun banners have in mind and then he went on to point out that the word state its own militia about the 18th century definition of state first of all was it's talking about the protection of a society others had been referred to
before the adoption of the Constitution. They were independent countries and that was the second definition. They were states in that sense. They're nation states. Exactly. Exactly. And that's where they were going with it. Now, tell you what, we're going to go to break. Well, our last break of this hour on the intel report, we got Larry Pratt, we got Donna Mark. We'll be back in about three minutes. I think we have a call or two, by the way. Be patient, Dan, please.

the Beltway and that's very far been able to leave he did of the attorney that put this case together set it up in such a way that indigestion if he were say it's an individual right do I have to the other extreme it's an individual right really about as stinky as New York City an amendment to individuals as a right and see that it gets brought in 14th Amendment for through the court's mind that it is an individual right by the Second Amendment Cago a lot yeah a lot of things
the 14th amendment next to the 8th amendment we're trying to intentions the framers of the 14th amendment had in mind and even if it's essentially a direction right now guys we have a didn't we just have a judge in the let's see the san francisco handgun ban didn't he just do an overturn on their ban right now at least at the lower court is there a judge uh... because magnificent vision of the second amendment on that ninth district
the country shook and all the nuts rolled. Unhappily, there are so many mountains out there running right along the coastline that they have to see. They stopped them. They wouldn't have been accepted. The case is really going to be down to the base period where the deficit and the definition of state worked out, where everybody... We're going to try to get at the... I would recommend, this is something I've brought up many times, is what needs to be done is to drag in the 9th and 10th Amendment to these issues, especially with regard to definitions.
but also definition in and of itself because the bottom line is the right of the people to keep and bear arms, period. Okay, then let's just get that component right there. It doesn't mean the right of the state to keep and bear arms. It specifically orients around the concept of the people. And you know, actually the Supreme Court in 1991, Bill of Rights, and they, you find it every amendment in which you find the way around it because the ninth and the tenth enumerate that.
specifically and it is very clear. Yes. And then, but there's a reason. One of the things we must stress is that the founding fathers understood the shyster and how he operates. And so even though they could have gone, well, you know, eight's enough. What the heck? Why worry about it? Oh, no, no, wait a minute here. What is the most likely avenue that these pieces of tripe are going to try and pull to undermine what we've just done? And lo and behold, they saw, oh, here we go. Let's just include these two clauses just in case.
And lo and behold, the very thing that they were concerned and warned everybody about is exactly where they went with trying to fractionalize the contract. That's right. You can't take a word, go from one element of a contract to another element of a contract, and try to claim that this word means this here, but something else there. It doesn't work that way. Try to do that with Ford Motor Company with a warranty and see what happens.
And that's what this really comes down to is if they try to argue that it's not our common law, but rather corporate law, they're still screwed because the bottom line is in a contract, a word means one thing. If it doesn't, it must be defined specifically in the contract. And here's the thing, the Constitution, the Bill of Rights are both the contract and the defining element of the contract where they were even more specific to say, we know what you're up to. We understand where you can go.
here's a limitation and an limitation is not on us that limitation every step of the way was supposed to be on gooberman because gooberman will become corrupt gooberman stacks people like cordwood and kills him given the opportunity when it goes crazy or another way of saying that believe is to point out that government the people are under a great clear that's where the con begins we've been ordained coup d'etat young lady interviewed her on my seven months safe it had to be disarmed and she had to have the ammunition also even if they
Well, Larry, we were only going to do this for about 15 minutes. And I, again, I want to thank you for your time. You've been more than generous.

As always, God bless the Republic. Death to the new world order. We shall prevail, ladies and gentlemen. The Empire is on the run. We are on the mark. March, both day and night. We'll be back in about six minutes here with a second hour for today, Weapons Wednesday. Thank you, Don. Thank you, Mark. God bless. Thank you, Larry. God bless. Did you read this? Chicago just became the murder capital of America. I don't understand. It's been a felony to have a gun since 95. I thought that was supposed to prevent murders. I didn't increase them.
Criminals will always find a way to get guns, while the rest of us are just left defenseless. Chicago authorities have seized over 75,000 firearms since 1995, and now Chicago's murder rate is twice as high as New York City. Tonight, while you're asleep, criminals will be at work.
Not in Kennesaw, Georgia. In 1982, our city passed a law requiring every household to have a gun. It terrified the criminals, and our violent crime rate is now 75% below the national average. We sleep well here in Kennesaw. Americans who own guns prevent over a million violent crimes every year and save lives. Get the facts. Visit armedandsecure.org. That's armedandsecure.org.
