Summary
Mark Koernke discussed firearm technical specifications with callers, focusing on AR-15 rifle reliability issues, particularly weak extractors when using steel-cased 5.45x39 ammunition, and explored potential engineering solutions including modified extractors and historical rifle designs like the HAC-7. Rob from Texas called to recommend affordable amateur radio modifications using Alenco dual-band radios that could serve as emergency communication systems for groups, requiring only simple wire modifications to enable transmission and reception across multiple frequency bands including FM broadcast.

75, 27. It's time to think outside the box with your host Alex Anzore from 1pm to 3pm Central every Saturday right here on We The People Radio Network. I had a dream the other night that, well I didn't understand. A figure walked in through the mist with a flintlock in his hand. His clothes were torn and dirty as he stood there by my bed. He took off his three cornered hat and speaking low to me he said.
We fought a revolution to secure our liberty. We wrote the Constitution as a shield from tyranny. For future generations, this legacy we gave. In this, the land of the free and home of the brave. The freedoms we secured for you, we hoped you'd always keep. The tyrants labored endlessly while your parents were asleep. Your freedom's gone, your courage lost, you're no more than a slave. In this, the land of the free.
and home of the brave. You buy permits to travel and permits to own a gun. Permits to start a business or to build a place for one. On land that you believe you own, you pay a yearly rent. Although you have no voice in saying how the money's spent. Your children must attend a school that doesn't educate. And your Christian values can't be taught according to the state. You read about the current news in a regulated press.
and you pay attacks you do not owe to please the IRS. Your money is no longer made of silver nor of gold. You trade your wealth for paper so your life can be controlled. You pay for crimes that make our nation turn from God and shame. You've taken Satan's number and you've traded in your name. You've given government control to those who do you harm so they could burn down churches and seize the family farm.
and keep our country deep in debt. Put men of God in jail. Harash your fellow countrymen while corrupted courts prevail. Your public servants don't uphold the solemn oaths they've sworn. And your daughters visit doctors so their children will be born. Your leaders send artillery and guns to foreign shores and send your sons to slaughter fighting other people's wars. Can you regain the freedoms for which we fought and died?
Or don't you have the courage or the faith to stand with pride? And are there no more values for which you will fight to save? Or do you wish your children to live in fear and be a slave? O sons of the Republic, arise, take a stand, defend the Constitution, the Supreme Law of the land, preserve our great Republic and each God given right. And pray to God, get the torch of freedom bright. As I awoke, he vanished in the mist for whence he came.
His words were true. We are not free, but we have ourselves to blame. For even now as tyrants trample each God-given right, we only watch him tremble, too afraid to stand and fight. If he stood by your bedside in a dream while you were asleep and wondered what remains of the freedoms he'd fought to keep, what would be your answer if he called out from the grave, dill the land of the free God of the West?
closer to victory for all of our brothers and sisters both on and behind the lines in occupied territories, southeast, west, and we're listening to us on We The People Radio Network, WTPRN.com. That's WeThePeopleRadioNetwork.com. Also on LibertyTreeRadio.4mg.com.
And we're on AM&FM Micro and major stations across the United States, high to our friends in eastern Ohio and western Pennsylvania, western New York, Virginia and West Virginia, and many other places across the planet. CB Bay stations east and west of the Mississippi and alternate 5 and 6 vertical today, 5 and 6 vertical.
on the
listening like you're right here in the studio with us. And that's what we need to see you do. Use both of the systems that are on hand and the many other ways that you're listening to us to your advantage and pass them on to everyone that you can. Please, one day, each day, one person per day, I'm asking you to go out and tell them, hey, tune into this, check it out. That's how you found out, that's all your friends are finding out.
Each day, one person, you don't have to do a million, but if every day you do one, well, by the end of the year, that's 365 new listeners. I'd say that'd make a difference if everybody did that, don't you? It would. So please, if you can't help us out that way. Today is Tuesday, it's weapon, it's not weapons Wednesday, it's communications Tuesday, but I know there are questions and there's all kinds of things people want to talk about.
So, what we're going to do is this, we got Dave from New York, and then we have Rob from Texas, thank you for calling back. We got Dave in New York first. Dave, jump in there, please. Yes, sir, hello. Earlier you talked about using the 5.4.5x3.9 and the AR-15 weapons. Well, the AR-15, really, in my opinion, is a gun. You just can't trust it because of its weak extraction, in my opinion. Anyway, using the 5.4.5x3.9, you know, of course, in the bald face, a lot of that 5.4.5, which is an excellent round,
steel case. Okay. I know. Can you use that? Will it extract? I mean, the AK is superior because if it's chambering and extraction. I am exactly. Now this is one of the issues that I've talked to with the engineers that I've been pushing this each time. Most of the companies are making the extractors out of 41 40 chromoly from bar stock. So obviously
in particular. It heats up. Yeah, it's a week, it's got a week spring. Remember you've got your compression guide which can either be made out of the different polymers or remember one of the solutions was for that little teat to actually be cast into the extractor or machined into the extractor. Now what I've suggested is if they can do any way. First of the thing to do is to build a prototype and do a fire to fail test.
because that's what's going to have to happen. Then, look at the point of failure with several extractors. Identify whether or not they can be beefed up or they can change the material because that's another option or they can increase, you know, for instance, I don't know if they're doing one stage, two stage, or a three stage heat annealing for the extractors.
That is a point that I brought up right away with them because we all know the steel case problem with the with the AR-15 family of rifles That's good. In fact even with the brass case that spring heats up after a certain number of rounds and what and it's a weak spring to begin with That's right. So what we're trying to do is address that but here's the thing now you see cold already came into this with the 7.62x39 round and we have a predominant number of steel cases there, right? So there is a
possibility that you're going to have to feed steel case to those 30 caliber ARs that you know the Colt car beans and they came up with and there's many other rifles doing it now in fact there's a mini 14 and 30 caliber that the many 30 is the rifle what we what we have to do is we need to address this anyway because this would be this is a twofold issue number one for the five four five as an alternate third caliber it would be a good option because it gives you three chamberings
from one basic rifle which means you can have the extra upper sitting on the shelf and you can switch over to what you need or even carry an extra upper uh... but to do that we would we do need to address the these the soft extractor issue because it is not bothers me about the whole thing i don't think i could ever have confidence knowing that they could be up and fail extraction exactly why would you want to use the arthur
the AK? Well, the biggest thing here is that a lot of people have already committed to a certain rifle and we're trying to find a solution for at least for training. But here's one of the things as I point out, and as I've been saying, it's a matter of tier with regard to application. We only have so much two, two, three brass out there. The other side, I'm telling you, this is a fact. They understand secret weapons for silent wars. It was a book that was written back in the actually in the 50s in its first version.
It explains the attrition levels that are part of the natural formula for destruction of say a military force, an industrial complex, or a nation. And one of the things that we have to do is if we understand that no, it's not going to be the perfect solution, but it's an economic solution that allows us to put the rifle on the range in some capacity for training purposes to continue with familiarity or for training new individuals, we can prioritize taking this less expensive ammunition
putting it on a weapon system that everybody's familiar with, then when the time comes, we can switch over to the 223 upper receiver anytime we need to and be using our brass, K-Brass ammunition for what it was meant for. Well, can't you go to a 6.8 Remington on the AR-15 and they offer a bolt with a bolt
a double extractor is that available you can actually well that is another another that's what i think there are three other solutions out there in unique calibers right but the problem is and even though they're beautiful rounds a nothing wrong with the men who do design to know what they were doing the problem is the cost
Right.
Then we've got a solution for training purposes and just in the event if all else fails we ran out of everything else we got We got a feed that we got to feed this puppy to five four five then at least we've got something to put a bullet down range with now I agree with you right off the bat what I've said many times on the air The round was made for the AK 47 and the AK 74. Okay, the AK 47 30 caliber the AK 74
the same basic case but in five four five which is an actual weapon system in my opinion yeah it eats the stuff all day it never stops I mean I've never had a malfunction with an AK I cannot say that about an AR-15 and I've shot a lot of rounds through AKs both tired and old and brand new out of the box and I've never had a failure to feed and I've never had a weapon malfunction now that doesn't mean it couldn't happen someday when you pick it up and the things full of crud and something really drastic happened the barrel is bent who knows what
But unless you really really really really abuse an AK it just keeps on chugging away no matter what and that's the embarrassment to our side is that here's a weapon somebody else invented, you know, so it's it's a solution. This is just a solution and it's for people because a lot of men who have committed and have have built up AR-15 inventories we we know the cost of 223 or the lack of availability of 223
What I'm hoping we can do, see here's the thing, because with the way that the extractor rests in the bolt face, it may be possible, because of the tolerances, to either beef up or to change the dimensions slightly, even if we have to, it wouldn't be a bad solution, because remember, all you have to do is make that the bolt face assembly, the bolt face assembly,
separate from the rest of the bolt carrier and everything else anyway, you're already doing that. We might have to increase the dimension of the slot and increase the girth of the extractor to provide the strength necessary for this to work. And if that does happen, it would...
Okay, because it would get the job done. And if that's the only unique part that we have to worry about that's really super alien to everything else on the AR-15, that would be much easier than the Rhino systems and all the other things we have to do to make the gas system work. Well, since you are willing to modify it, can you go to a double extractor?
That's another issue that was discussed years ago with a weapon that was called the hack 7 HAC 7 Okay, if you can look it up take a look at some of the ideas and was actually a good design I believe the hat and I know this is pretty going back to history the hack 7 appeared in the early 80s It was an alternate. There's it had a dual extractor option
The one solution was of course for creating an appendextrous bolt. You could actually change the bolt configuration so it could extract left or right. Okay. And it also had the option to eject either way. The original design though, it wasn't something new. The original design was of all people, it was a Stoner concept rifle that was built back in the 1950s. It came about about 1954-55.
originally proposed in 308 NATO or in the 7mm competition cartridge that they had come up with. The design is all steel. It offered a dual extraction system. It is a good idea and it was very simple to produce. It's just that for some reason, it just because of the glut of other arms in the market at the time, it didn't go anywhere. It didn't get out to where it could have gone production-wise. If you want to look it up, it's called the Hack 7. I will look it up and I thank you, sir.
Thank you.
And every time they've tried to create one weapon that does everything, it usually doesn't do anything properly. It just does everything, you know, in a mediocre fashion. We have the option here to choose and pick our path, and hopefully, again, like I said, I've been planting seeds everywhere I can with the engineers. I think they're already looking at this because they can see, too, the availability of ammunition, but they do understand the issue of steel cases. Now, steel-cased ammunition is going to put wear on our arms.
Now, I've talked about this many times. The CIA and the Defense Intelligence Agency, the Spooks and Cookes and the KGB all know the formula for attrition. And I'm going to address that in a minute because we've got a patient caller here first. We've got Rob from Texas. Rob, are you there? Yeah, Mark. There you are, sir. First of all, I have a suggestion. I've been pretty much into amateur radio for probably 20, 30 years. And of course, things have come a long way in that time.
I have a linko system about two years ago I bought a two meter combination 440 centimeter. All you have to do is cut two wires and you got transmit and receive all the way from 88 to in the 500s. So you can have a micro broadcast system because we're on FM all the way up to you know aircraft
and everything in between you can transmit and receive until you have an extra $250 you can probably get one of those new and even less used
Well, hey Rob, stay right there for the moment. We're gonna come back in a second here, three minutes, with the intel report. You got Rob on stand.

Rob from Texas here. Rob, I'll tell you what, go ahead. Now what we're talking about, we say snip a couple of wires or we're talking a couple of simple jumpers, aren't we on the board? Well, they're not even jumpers on the board, they're just two wires you have to, and then, you know, seal off the ends. Right. And what it does, you can transmit and receive, it's GMRS, marine, police fire, you know, just like I said, aviation.
even FM, you can go that low to the 88 megahertz so you can actually use it as a micro broadcast station with 30 watts. Yep. Now, one of the things I'd point out with this, this is why it's important for everybody because one thing to remember, everybody has an FM radio in their car. They got little FM dollar store radios for a general broadcast and for emergency service. Let's say if you have your own people and you're trying to outfit a lot of people just to be able to talk
to them to give them instruction. This is a great way to have an emergency system in place, isn't it? Yeah, base station. That's what I use it for. Yep. What's the go ahead and give the particulars start right from the top and go right down slows for our listeners so they can they can take notes. I get an Alenco two meter, it's dual band two meter 40 centimeters. I don't have the model number. But I think it runs you can get it from
amateur electronic systems. They're at a Minneapolis. There's, I think, five stores that I do business with Minneapolis. And I think it was right around $50 or $300. And there's several places on the internet where you can go to do these modifications. Carper antenna, in other words, you can't just have one antenna and use your antenna tuner.
to try to tune that whole range because your SRWs you lose so much power solution. Anyway, I found a question about pollution. A question about
