For Roy and George, all of you guys have been asking about information about certain weapons. Let's say that you got to figure out how to fix something. Wouldn't it be nice to have all the information at your fingertips? Yes, it would. And not just a little bit of information, armourer's text. You know, you've got an M1 carbine. Guys, you probably have several M1 carbines. How about the Browning high power? Do you have a 1911A1? And I'm not talking about anything fancy dressed up, though it's nice if you got one. That's OK. But a standard 1911. Smith and Wesson revolvers. Ruger revolvers. Colt revolvers. And of course, the ultimate of 12 gauge shotguns, the Remington 870, the flawless design that works forever just about. Well, all these weapons can be maintained easily as long as you know how to do it. Okay guys, now that gives you manuals on everything you need to know about the weapons you are probably carrying. You need to give them a call or write them and find out what specific systems they cover. Now these are armorers books. For instance, in my favorite, the Mauser Bolt action, the Model 91 through the Model 98 people, that is a utility rifle. There are millions, and when I say millions, we mean millions in the United States. For those of you who have, say, five of them on the shelf as part of your 510, say five of them or ten of them on the shelf as part of your 510 program, well, these are the manuals that you need to have on the shelf so that if something looks like it's going to go wrong, and there's not a whole lot that can, but sometimes it happens. you all the information on what to look for how to troubleshoot but again uh... the basic rule when you're doing maintenance on a weapon is patience i cannot stress this enough there are basic things you need to do before you start ripping parts off an arm or deciding you're going to change things a good portion of the weapons that i have picked up over the years about i would say seventy eight percent of any of them had problems the number one problem was cleaning Just basic cleaning knowing how to properly maintain the weapon. I bought so many carbines I could not count them all. And what I found was always the case. The M1 carbine has a little cap at the gas system. It's out of sight, out of mind. If you just run a swatch down the barrel, okay, with your cleaning rod, and then clean out the chamber and dust up the area where the bolt is riding, guys, in the boat rails, Guess what you've not done. Okay, the M1 carbine because of the way that it functions There's a little gas port on the bottom of the barrel goes to a little short tappet system Well guess what that gas is that gas is burning and there's carbon that builds up on your little gas tappet Now you don't want to take that little gas tappet out You'll notice that when you diss it when you take the weapon the basic barrel group and receiver out of the stock You will find that there is that little tappet is actually screwed into place and then there are three or four hammer points depending on what period the armor was told to assemble a thing, depending on what the factory did. And that little tab is actually first threaded in and then struck into place, a little carrier that rides in. Now, there is a wrench for taking it out. So keep that in mind. And if you go to a number of different companies, they have the gas tap at wrenches. I would recommend getting one because down the road, eventually, sometime, they're going to wear out. And you're going to want that tool. And it's one of those unique spanners that's made for the carbine. They're cheap. There's lots of them around, billions of them on surplus. You gotta look around for certain companies. Sarco has the gas tap at wrench. Two different versions. They're about $3, $4 a piece. So cheap, you can't afford not to have them in your kit. They've got the basic book for the M1 rifle and the M14, the M1 carbine, the .45, the Mauser actions, the .870, the .45 automatic, two different texts and I would recommend you get both. If you're working on a number of arms or if you have to deal with maintaining weapons, this is stuff that should be on the shelf and it should be spread to the wind. The whole country has to have this stuff laying around. Why? Well, you can't burn enough books. When the time comes, they're going to try and destroy information. It will be copied or it can be on hand in so many places, it's impossible to do so. It'll still be out there where it's needed. Difference overall. Again, take the time. That's number one. Okay, I said keep your pen and paper handy because we're not slowing down on this one. Information on how to disassemble the weapons and reassemble the weapons and do troubleshooting maintenance took care of that. Well how about also other items like night vision. I've always said to to the commoners who we are I felt then God gave us music as a means to give us just a spirituality. And I've always said that music is the glue behind the soul of man to God because there isn't very much, you know, besides just doing like mushrooms or something else that can even show you that there is a spiritual music is something that can raise your, raise your whole senses. It can put your, you know, your hair on your arms at the end. You may or may not be able to get the Ithaca's. If you've got an interchangeable barrel Ithaca, you can, but I think they're kind of rare now. But for the 870 Remington or for the Mosbergs in any model, the I-C allows you with a standard straight tube to pretty much use any shot down the barrel. But if you're using discarding Sabo, a lot of you may have the safety slugs, you may have the original BRI types. I don't. Somebody does. a lot of those. They're the original discarding SABO slug. In IC barrels they work flawlessly. And the IC barrels for the Remington slugs, even though they can be used with a rifle barrel, the Remington discarding SABO slugs in the 20 or the 12 work exceptionally well with a standard IC barrel, improved cylinder. The advantage is that you can use it for everything. You can, without changing the barrels, you can drop the slug in and you're going to see very, very good accuracy. A discarding SABO double cup. The BMP has a smooth bore that uses a discarding sable round, incredible velocity, good accuracy. Now they've changed guns. They've gone to a gal gun on the BMP for the BMP-2s. But the point is that the IC barrel and the shotgun will give you all the potential to use standard shot without disruption of your pattern. In other words, it's not going to cause any problems. There's no rifling. But if you had to say, oh my goodness, I need to go to slug, you can pop slug with an IC barrel and, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, okay, do just fine. And that hourglass 500 grain slug, remember, if you've got a scope on the thing, you're going to be able to reach 200 yards with a standard shotgun. the IC or with the rifle barrel. The IC is the better choice. Anyway, little points and it's old, this is an old earth technology, this is 20 years old when these first came out. There are different French, Francie has a sable, discarding sable with a pin stabilized dart. There are many others out there. This gives you rifle accuracy but gives you a very, very heavy effective for penetration slugs. to 200 yards out of a regular pump gun or a gas gun no matter what you use. Even a single shot H&R or a single shot Kmart or Kresge Special, you got them out there pre-68, they worked just fine. And a lot of those were made, especially the Kresge, the SS Kresge single shots, the SS Kresge over and under, the Kmart over and under, those were all made with IC barrels. So they will work with those SABOS lugs just fine. Anyway, we're going back. We got Paul. Okay, Paul, you've got these two events coming up for sure.
