Mark and Nancy Koernke discussed alternative energy solutions and food storage preparedness on May 31, 2007. They covered solar and wind power systems from Mother Earth News, including DIY solar heating panels and small-scale wind generators suitable for individual homes, referencing historical Michigan examples of private energy generation. The second half focused extensively on dry-pack food storage using one-gallon cans with nitrogen, CO2, or iron oxide packets, proper rotation and labeling systems, MRE shelf life, and creative reuse of restaurant cans. They also detailed storage solutions for medical supplies, ammunition, and equipment using PVC tubes with color-coded straps, and discussed sourcing deep-cell batteries from truck stops and industrial equipment.
I had a dream the other night that, well, I didn't understand. A figure walked in through the mist with a flintlock in his hand. His clothes were torn and dirty as he stood there by my bed. He took off his three-cornered hat and, speaking low to me, he said, we've fought a revolution to secure our liberty. We wrote the Constitution as a shield from tyranny. For future generations, this legacy we gave.
In this, the land of the free and home of the brave. The freedoms we secured for you, we hoped you'd always keep. The tyrants labored endlessly while your parents were asleep. Your freedom's gone, your courage lost, you're no more than a slave. In this, the land of the free and home of the brave. You buy permits to travel and permits to own a gun. Permits to start a business or to build a place for one.
On land that you believe you own, you pay a yearly rent. Although you have no voice in saying how the money's spent. Your children must attend a school that doesn't educate. And your Christian values can't be taught according to the state. You read about the current news in a regulated press. And you pay a tax you do not owe to please the IRS. Your money is no longer made of silver nor of gold.
You trade your wealth for paper so your life can be controlled. You pay for crimes that make our nation turn from God and shame. You've taken Satan's number. You've traded in your name. You've given government control to those who do you harm so they could burn down churches and seize the family farm and keep our country deep in debt. Put men of God in jail. Harash your fellow countrymen while corrupted courts prevail.
Your public servants don't uphold the solemn oaths they've sworn. And your daughters visit doctors. So their children will be born. Your leaders send artillery and guns to foreign shores. And send your sons to slaughter fighting other people's wars. Can you regain the freedoms for which we fought and died? Or don't you have the courage or the faith to stand with pride? And are there no more values for which you will fight to save? Or do you wish your children?
to live in fear and be a slave. O sons of the Republic, arise, take a stand, defend the Constitution, the Supreme Law of the land, preserve our great Republic and each God given right, and pray to God to keep the torch of freedom burning bright. As I awoke, he vanished in the mist for whence he came. His words were true, we are not free, but we have ourselves to blame.
For even now as tyrants trampled each God-given right, we only watch him tremble, too afraid to stand and fight. If he stood by your bedside in a dream while you were asleep and wondered what remains of the freedoms he fought to keep, what would be your answer if he called out from the grave, dill the land of the free?
Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen, this is the Intelligence Report. I'm Mark Kornke. And I'm Nancy Kornke. One day closer to victory for all of our brothers and sisters both on and behind the lines in occupied territories south, southwest, north, and east. Ladies and gentlemen, you're listening to us on We the People Ready Network on WTPRN.com.
also on LTR and micro AM and FM stations across the United States along with CV stations and channel 26.2 and channel 26.8 on an alternate test today. So again, for all of our friends there, we're going to check out the audio to find out what's going on with the alternate. New systems that are up, some of our kids out in Western Illinois are plugging in some new equipment and if it works, so this is another expansion on the alternate project.
uh... interestingly enough we were down in part of our web here but the alternate wasn't down so we were still outbound and uh... some pretty good so uh... everybody's uh... clear and five by five this is again the intel report in the afternoon and you've got mark and nancy corkey here and uh... if you get a chance uh... check out of course uh...
Our archives, you'll recall that we have this program up on the archive with We the People Radio Network, so if there's anything you've heard in the past, well, you can hear it again. And we are on We the People Radio Network, WTPRN. I think we'll be back in a minute. This is the Intel report. Today is the 31st of May, 2007. Nancy, we've got a couple things we want to bring people back up to speed on. We mentioned this yesterday. Of course, it was Weapons Wednesday.
a number of things showing up in the Mother Earth news. Yes, they've got some great articles. They're running a series on alternative energy, as those of you who know that have read it in the past. Of course, it's the ultra-liberal magazine. However, if you're thinking about being self-sufficient, this is the way to go. They're calling do-it-yourself solar lighting.
which Mark covered yesterday and the articles by Charles Higgins. I believe that started on page 45 and went through page 50. This month's issue is on wind power. And that, again, it's about four or five pages long. New improved wind power where not just the large generators like we see here at the tip of Michigan.
up there at the bridge, but for individual homes. And again, this is something you can buy the kit and do it yourself. It's not necessarily terribly inexpensive, but again, they go into the fact that, you know, back before the electrical companies had wires going across the nation and everybody has electricity, that was not the case.
out in the rural farms, they had to create their own electricity or use alternative means such as gas lamps, propane, refrigerators, whatnot. Those are still available today. However, you know, this is something with solar panels, and Mark and I were discussing it, so I'll see if you want to go back into Backwoods Home magazine.
I remember an article that they did on solar heating panels that you could make yourself, and I mean make yourself dirt cheap, not one in $2,000 together that you see in the backwards, I'm sorry, the Mother Earth News today from, well, we're in a primarily printing area for books.
So what they used was an aluminum plate for the collector and spray-painted it black and ran tubing through it into the house and an automatic shutoff valve showed it to get too cold to be productive. But those kinds of things, and they put it together for probably 30, 40 bucks, the way that they had this set up with the copper tubing.
that plate which is, you know, they get rid of them, they throw them out when they're done. But very, very simple and we were talking about, you know, simple things that would upgrade that and that would be to use a computer fan to move the air through. But the newest one on wind power using for individual homes, I'm trying to find, by Greg Paul, P-A-H-L.
It starts on page 36, and as I said, it's a five-page article, but very informative. And it even gives you with the kit what the breakdown is for whether or not it would be really suitable for you to do so if your bill's above $150 a month, things of that nature. But read it. It's good information. Be aware, and keep your eyes and ears open for solutions.
for you that fit your lifestyle and possible needs in the future. One of the things most important to remember is right here in Michigan we had a lot and have all that's interesting. The last cycle was back in the 70s, late 70s when
we saw a lot of the people coming up with private solutions. One of the number one developers of wind power here in Michigan and in the Midwest, and now we found out later across the country, lived right here south of Ann Arbor in the Saline area. He was one of the first people to put up a wind power generator and was pushing energy back to power companies. Now the power companies initially, when they realized, oh my goodness, we're not making money off him,
they turned around and put a non-reversible meter on his equipment on his house. He turned around, went to court on it, and he's the man who set the benchmark case and won here in Michigan, making sure that they didn't put non-reversing meters on the house. So that was one area. Now the other one, the box, we call it Greenhouse Box System, those were developed here in Michigan too quite extensively. And in fact, there was a whole company that was selling them all over the state.
Some of you might go down the road if you're here in Michigan, Ohio or Indiana in the upper parts of those two states. And you'll see these big, like, look like black surfaces. They're all there around the side, south side of many of the houses. Some of them currently cut off a gray black now as far as the paint because they haven't been probably repainted in a while. But they were simple greenhouse mechanisms, they're about six inches to eight inches deep. Some came up with a really cool idea of using fluorescent tubes.
The tubes are laid in the box after it's painted black and the tubes collect the heat and since they're self-contained they activate and they don't go anywhere. They stay right there, of course, charged. And with a system like this, with a thermostat, a shutter system, a very simple shutter system, utilizing the south face of the house, they were able to heat the home until about one in the morning where then your regular furnace would kick in. So this was an assist system that took a great deal of cost, especially during the winter.
off of your heating bill. Again, people got kind of lazy, things got cheaper again, stuff got loosened up. Well, unlike the 70s, we're looking at $4 a gallon for gas, and everything else is going to be coming up accordingly. So you can build these systems in a very inexpensive package. Again, the article dates, what was the one for the electrical? The wind powers is this month, correct? Yes, for the month of June, and the May is the one for solar.
Both of these are of that type. They are an assist. They are not a primary thing. And the thing is, the new and improved wind power that they're talking about here is using a lighter blade to spin. And it only takes eight miles an hour.
in order to generate power from this system. It does have a backup that they show with the house that they have pictured here with a solar panel array on the roof. Well, one of the things to think about is any of you are near an old military air base. If you're living near an old SAC base or an old combat attack base that was set up for
the
No matter what direction they come from, like we're here in the middle of the Great Lakes, okay, you got wind coming from one lake or the other or the other. Well, they situated the air bases accordingly. If you're near one of those bases, it's guaranteed you have more than enough wind to generate power, trust me. But with the new systems, or even the old ones, let's say you don't take these new hydro fans. I'm going to ask you all some to take a look historically at what they were using with regard to setting up alternate power.
those old multi-fans, uh, uh, prop blade systems that you see that have been around for 80, 90 years. In fact, a lot of them are still turning, even though there's nothing attached to them. Yeah. And they're still making them by the way. The Amish offer them down in Indiana. Uh, there's a couple of companies that are producing brand new versions of those, not with a new fan, just a traditional old butterfly fan. Looks like a big multi, you know, it's got like anywhere from 10 to 15 to 20 blades on it. Those are cheap. That is what this is based upon that.
They've just gone with the quicker new look and a lighter blade by using fiberglass. Fiberglass making it lighter is what makes it turn easier in the wind. Less resistance. That's it. That's something. And also this article also gives you where to go to get the wind pattern layout for your area. And this article is based upon a house in New Jersey.
Well, ladies and gentlemen, we're at the break. Our first one, this is the Intel Report Live. You've got Mark and Nancy. We'll be back in about three minutes. Times are tough right now, but there are a lot of different ways to get ourselves out of this mess.

line and on demand, this is We The People Radio Network.
Chem solar so you heard that on the on the ad break. I tell you what give him a call We cannot stress enough, but the alternate energy sources are absolute must now We cover on weapons Wednesday this whole concept of using the night vision well guys with all this equipment You're going to need be able to charge and recharge batteries little trick here by the way with little trickle charger solar chargers Okay, that I talked about yesterday. They can recharge conventional batteries
because they're a very slow charger to begin with. They don't pulse in and basically smack the system, which usually causes rupturing or frying of the battery itself. But what you want to do is, if need be, don't ever throw your old batteries away unless they're actually really, really trashed out. There are ways or solutions, and again, solar power is a way you can set up different charging systems for battery charge.
also for other equipment and support technologies. Hey, how many out there have battery-powered drills? How many battery-powered tools do you have out there? Just imagine what it would be like if, and remember this is doing it very quietly, if nothing else, your solar systems can be set up to recharge all the equipment that drains power and brings up that electric bill. What a great people that are building.
I know I have one we picked up a couple of years ago while you were in the monastery just to keep things up in charge on the car. They plugged directly into the cigarette lighter, put it in the windshield and let it charge. We got those at very, very reasonable.
And those can be totally portable, there's I'm sure a number that Ken Solar can provide. So you need to check with them to find out what's on hand because there's a lot of technology out there. And there's many, many different American companies. Most important thing is remember we've got a lot of American solutions and we do have these American entrepreneurs. Well, they're people that are like you and me, little guys. That's why one of the things we've been pushing is support our people.
The big guys are getting all the business they want they've got all the advertising and the thrill weight that they need ABC NBC BBS and CNN all suck up to them and vice versa So with that being the case guys, we're supposed to be here to be taking care of each other. There's a lot of solutions They're pretty straightforward and they're easy to apply and they can be made mobile which is very very important For you guys out there doing radio. We're calling rat rigs with are called rat rigs radio
uh... transmitter packages on bands or on uh... camper packages uh... this is where you have a sort of bank set up and you run the off the drop the battery packs hold you know poor wasting fuel the problem with the people that i know i guess it is or off the off the total system off the engine well how much is a gallon of gas running right now solar power is drop it that well
No, it's the sunshine. The point is that again, yeah, it's where we have alternate systems. By the way, think about this. A lot of people are building little fan windmills, little copies of the old industrial windmills I was talking about earlier. Guys, you take a simple little generator pack, a little, just to do exactly, mimic on a small scale exactly what they did back in the 20s.
You take one of those little windmills, you put a small, modern little generator pack on that with a little, nothing more than a little fan pulley system. In fact, think of all little belt drive systems we got that are even notch drive systems off stereo equipment. You can get longer belts, you can get lightweight belts, but the idea is that that little fan will produce a lot of electricity. Start thinking in the scrapper mentality. That's one of the things that this whole recycling BS has really messed up is
People used to use what they had on the shelf. We got kind of high and mighty here with all little trinkets we could buy and with the purchasing power we had. But now the purchasing power that you don't have means you have to start thinking ahead. Everything that can be reused, you can truly recycle, you need to recycle. And that's it. And I would take things and one of the things I was looking for last night as a matter of fact, we have a booklet that a gentleman made up called the Wind Spinner.
taken a 55 gallon drum, cut them in half, put them on a post to capture the wind, put it down through a gear box into a alternator and his shot. And there is no reason. I was looking at that and it's going to be heavy. It's going to take a lot of wind to push that. But gee, we have all these 55 gallon plastic drums. Don't know how well they would hold up, but gee, it's certainly something to look at and consider.
with our area here and see how just two experiments with and see how that would turn out. And so again, the idea is come up with, you know, we're dropping seeds for a reason. The idea is all of you out there listening have different tools, different backgrounds, different technologies. The idea is to try and apply them. Now I'll mention this again, water power. And I'm not talking about building a dam. You don't have to. Think about just a water paddle.
a water paddle system. If you've got any kind of drop in a stream or whatever, think about this too, they can't try to get you on any kind of environmental issue because a water paddle is isolated. It can be dropped into the water as needed with a little frame and the water passes through, turns the little paddle turbine and the turbine moves your little belt, which moves your little generator, which creates your little electrical surge, which goes to your battery pack. Now you got water, air and solar.
between all of that at one point or another something's running people something is going to be charging those batteries the next step is what kind of batteries and again refer to our solar tech people to find out what all is out there either old or new uh... a little solution a quick one for those you remember car batteries if you want to get your car batteries but they do work uh... any number of different systems are available and uh... you need to refer to the technicians accordingly to find out more but there are other ideas out there
Certainly, Bob, one that I ran across that was in here was converting bicycles into an electric bike using RV, very small, very compact. They were looking at 1,000 or so to do so. But for people that live in the city and they don't want to drive that five miles to work, here's the solution. So they have the same type of systems for motorcycles, specifically for the Kawasaki and Ninja.
those conversion kits through Phoenix electric conversions. That's something that I found very interesting. Looking at just the short term range of running little errands into town where I'm not carrying a bunch of stuff home, I don't really want to spend that gas. Right, also for in town, a lot of people are finding that, hey, certainly they jump in the car, they run down to the grocery store, they jump in the car, they run down to pick up something a little munchy here and there.
well why not do it but of course it was a bicycle be fine but if you're having a problem with peddling we got people that are older the electric solution is an option and there are a number of different systems out there that can be developed or can be built uh... you see you know what think about this how many of the live down in florida men down in florida remember all the trike bikes i remember years ago i first saw those when i was little down in florida because all the retirees
people have these beautiful little trike bikes. You didn't see them up in this part of the country, you just saw them down there. Not too often up here. But anyway, there are companies, in fact I've got the information here, oh forgive me, it wasn't my fingertips, but it's for the moment, but there's a couple companies that are down in Kentucky and Tennessee that are producing four wheel bicycles that are two seater, they're one seater, two seater, and four seater.
And you combine that with the electric technology and look what you've got. You've got yourself a simple way, a little go buggy to run around the in town, but also on the back 40 for a lot of you guys that are farming or working operations, say where you're dealing with a wide area of many acres. This is a quick, simple solution. It doesn't require fossil fuels. And by the way, your solar charging systems can keep the batteries up on your little electric bike.
That's it.

Great host, great topics, brief speech at its best. This is We The People Radio Network. Something's going on with the sound there, Wes. And ladies and gentlemen, we are back past the bottom of the hour. This is the Intel Report Live. You've got Nancy and Mark here. And today is the 31st. It's the end of the month, guys. We're looking at June now. And of course, we've got gardening going into place.
And again, this is food production, part of our Liberty program to make sure that we're plugged in. Nancy, of course, has got a lot of experience there. And also, one of the things to touch on is dry packing and dry storage. There's two reasons. Number one is for food, but also for equipment and even ammunition. Remember, the Army used to do a lot of their stuff in hamtins. You're the term hamtin.
They had a cool system, of course, you still see Polish hands come this way with a little, you put it in the can and it had a preset lid that you could take a key, you un-buzz it around the outside. Lo and behold, the can opens up without any special tools. Well, in this case, we're using the one gallon number 10 cans and there's also the double gallon cans for dry storage, which will give you a little more volume.
but it can be used for any number of subjects. So, Nancy, right now, of course, they're also using other technologies too for the dry packing. Well, for food, what they found is something that I brought up years ago. What about using the available recycling again, using the two-liter plastic? Well, we're seeing that done now.
with using that and the iron oxide packet to put in to eat the air up. And that's a critical thing when you're talking about food, is making sure that the air is completely out the container that you put it in so that no bacteria, bacterial growth eliminated as well as any growth of any organisms that might be there, for those of you that are familiar with dry goods.
there is a certain number of eggs and larvae that are allowed in to an dry product. Unacceptable when you start thinking about it, all those little bug parts, they're there and you don't think anything about them. And this is where backside tablets are extremely important to make sure that what you put away, you do want to make sure also that when you
replenish your supplies or get more, you want to rotate your food. If you do not rotate it, you're going to lose some of it. Beans are rehydrating after three years. So you want to make sure that you use what you have. For those of you that in the year 2000 packed food away, dry packed food, if you purchased it through a number of the suppliers in nitrogen form, it's good for many, many years down the road.
If you used the carbon dioxide, which was used at the time, you're going to be fine for the most part. But again, there are some things like your legumes and your beans that need to be used. And if you haven't used them, pull them out and use them out. Make some bean soup. Bake beans. There is a number of ways to use the items. If you have any questions about that, there are a number of excellent
out there. Vicki Tate has done a terrific series on how to use your food storage. Pull out your cookbooks. Cooking from scratch is not a big deal, folks. They've made things a lot easier by making kits and prepackaged things where you just add water to them. That's great. That's fine. However, when you're cooking for a mass number of people, that's not always an easy
You've got to calculate. It's one thing when you and another person are sitting down and munching on something. It's another thing when you put 10 hungry people in one place. First of all, you want to make sure it's the most efficient process possible. You've only got so many calories that you can burn heat-wise to get everything prepared. So you want to make sure, and also you're going to need a specific amount of calories per person that's as in calorie intake and continue to operate or function properly.
Another little thing, a little touch on about the whole idea of what we're talking about, iron oxide packets, is that there are a number of different ways that you neutralize the oxygen in the containers.
It used to be we used CO2. Like they said, nitrogen is still used extensively. It is an excellent system. Don't say, oh, I got nitrogen. I need to open up all my cans. No, don't do that. Don't do it. That's good for 20 years. If your stuff is stored that way or any other way that you've already done, the most important thing is understand what its potential is, what its capability for storage, in other words, duration and storage. Probably one of the best examples. Military, I always thought,
should bring this up. MREs. Let me give you an example of storage time. I thought, well MREs, they must have an expiration date bad in the pouch. I thought this because I was younger and naive. And then I started looking at the supply indexes and I got hold of an index storage chart that came from the Department of Defense on the MRE project. Okay, meals ready to eat. The determination of how long they were stored was by how they taste.
Well, mine doesn't taste perfect today. Oh, that means that because there was a change in flavor, not a change in food content or value. A change in flavor. You know what? If it gets bad people, you'd be looking at the rear end of a possum and thinking, that looks pretty tasty. You know what I mean? This whole thing about how finicky our soldiers have become considering the environment that other soldiers have had to suffer through over the years,
is kind of it's a reflection of society in general our food storage of the mr is indefinite the cold you store them the longer they will fit on the shelf and that's true of most foods right in the court place out of the sunlight you're talking about your dry sea drives you know that immersed in water not you know when constant moisture and high humidity the idea is to you know come up with a balance
store if it's stored properly and MREs don't even have to worry about that. They don't even have a moisture issue. The idea was at 53 degrees or cooler the shelf life is indefinite. Think about that. Indefinite and the flavor issue, I thought well there must be spoilage pouch and blow up. You know how they puff up. They look really evil and what could you open them up? You'll know if you've got bacteria growth because it will explode on its side. Right, green and blue on the inside. Oh, I wouldn't eat that.
But that wasn't the case at all. It was the idea that, uh, it didn't taste great. Very kinky. Well, I'll tell you what. I've been in situations where we ate cardboard. Okay? Where we were, we were, you were between three guys on an LRRP ration, the long range reconnaissance patrol rations. I don't guys remember them. Uh, they're about, I'd say about 10 inches long. Once you get the water back in them, they're about four inches in diameter puffed out. They were made of only one flavor of whatever was inside.
And three of us had to eat off them and we still didn't have enough. Okay. And in fact, I made a mistake on that particular operation. I did one thing. I trusted the Air Force to drop supplies. And guess what? Oh yeah, they dropped them. 16 miles off. We didn't eat about what? Six, seven days. So you learn your herbality here. Yeah. In this case, the idea was at the very least, you know, carry what you need. And that's a basic rule about having back up to back up. Now, the good thing is we did have little things that we carried, but
You know, the assumption was, and it was that one time deal, we never got caught in that situation again. But, and others were, fortunately others were, ignoring what was being said and did carry more food than originally was anticipated, and that's what got us through the time period.
nitrogen system, the CO2 systems, we used CO2 for a long time until these iron oxide pellet packs are made so that you put a couple of these pellets in the one gallon can or the container and when you seal it back up they suck all the oxygen out of the system. That iron, the iron actually rusts in packets. Basically what's happening is the rusting the oxidation process of that eats the oxygen in the can.
Nothing's lost.
It's considered the unacceptable process and there's nothing they can do about it, okay? Sometimes you've opened up flour where it's been had a process and you find those little dark spots in it. Well, I need to tell you these names, okay? I tell you what, I hear the music. We're at the next break. This is the Intel Report Live. You got Nancy and Mark. The Alex Jones broadcast live from 11 a.m. To 2 p.m. Central Monday through Friday right here on we the people Radio Network the in-shell report we are back and Last 15 last 10 minutes the program here before the top of the hour Yeah, first hours going pretty quick Nancy. We're also touching on
uh... the idea of again dry packing food or equipment now one of the news remember medical supplies such as bandages think that nature with a one gallon cans of well better way to keep them dry and clean and and sanitary and the most important thing is multi are marking the by the cancer is a military system we mark the top with the can mark the sides of the can
If you have time, I'd even mark the bottom of the can and you can use symbols, but you should also ID it. In other words, right now, they've got these indelible markers. You can use a tag or marker system with stick-ons, any number of solutions, but the idea is to, again, make it so simple. You look at it, even if it's on its side, if it's upside down, or if you're just looking at it on the top of the box, okay, I know what it is. Now, I don't need that can, I need this can.
So again, there's a number of different systems and again other solutions as far as what we put in them, right? As a matter of fact, with the medical gear, what you want to look at is making sure that you have a complete first aid kit if you will in a can ready to go, be it gauze, tape, scissors, triangular bandage, everything that you think you're going to need, anything you would carry in a medical kit with you. Make sure it's in that can.
Again, whether it be hemostats, oh goodness, anything that's dry, you do not want to put your iodine and things of that nature in there just because you don't want it going all over the place. That is an excellent thing to do. Also with the food, an idea that you might keep in mind is to take the dried cheese powder, put it in with the macaroni and cheese, powdered milk, macaroni and cheese ready to go.
You're going to need some water to go with that, obviously. But still, that's it together. If you want to keep it for on-the-road use, for home storage, and for base camp, for putting away, you want to make sure that you have the basics. I do not forget your spices. Load up on spices. I know that they will lose after a period of time, but I've got stuff that I've had on the shelf for 10 years. And I tell you what, I might use maybe a quarter of a teaspoon more.
of these spices. That's it. I'm not, I have not seen that great a loss in flavor in these spices that I have picked up. And I go and I pick up the cheapest stuff. We also produce, you also produce your own too. One of the things that we do is dry racking spices and a lot of that has actually been on the shelf just as long, just as serviceable. So there again, you can't, you can't say you can't find solutions or my budget won't allow for it.
There are many different options. Most important thing is to have a storage system set up and to cycle it through. Now another thing, you can reuse the cans. Most people don't realize this. Here's one of the ways you can save money on those one gallon cans. Have you got somebody who owns a restaurant? How many one gallon cans do they open in the night?
Now, here's an idea. What you do is you have them run those one-gallon cans through their dishwasher, since they've already got them there, and if you're willing to help with it, you can save dollars upon dollars upon dollars on the cans. There's what's called a re-rimming tool. Right. And you can use a one-gallon can ten times over.
depending on what type. One type is a bell type where it's compressed and made out of one sheet. The other type has a lid top and bottom. Now the one that's a bell type, you can only re-rim it on the, obviously on the entrance, or the lid end. On the other type, you can re-lit it five times on both ends.
Think about that. You can reuse the cans, especially if you're going seasonally, you know how to use them. You can recycle your beans, your rice, and what you do is just put them on the shelf, stack them up, and have them ready to go. But the reason I say take advantage of the guy, if you're getting him from the restaurant, is he's got this nice, usually a Hobart or a different type of dishwasher. Well, that means you can get them really, really sterile and clean so that they're ready to use. They air dry. Congratulations. Everything's ready to go.
There are solutions here just off the shelf. And by the way, here are the recycling people. All the eco people should love you because you're going to make sure those cans don't go in the landfill. Any of the one gallon metal cans will do while you're at it. You might as well de-label them because that way you'll have all the paper and junk off them. And for also ammunition, for instance, here's an idea. One gallon cans dry packed. When the time comes, what you do is put a little cheater trick here. What you do is put the ammunition in the can.
take your hot glue gun, put a little dab of glue on the lid, put a P-38 can opener right there on the lid with the can. Safety beyond that, take another piece of tape, make up a strip that doesn't cover the whole P-38 can opener but just lays over it and lay that on so that it secures the P-38 can opener into place.
Now you've got a can of ammo, take your pick. Now mark it on the outside. Okay, in other words, .30 caliber carbine and one rifle, yada yada yada. And you've got a simple storage system absolutely separate from the environment and cost efficient. Now mimic what the military does. How many of you open military ammo cans?
You notice that they have cardboard stand off so the ammo doesn't rattle around inside. So go to a store, keep the stuff dry, don't store it outside, but keep the cardboard dry, bring it in, cut it to spec, so it will fit inside the can. Put an end cap on the bottom, and there was a piece of cardboard on the bottom.
Stack your ammunition accordingly, put a nice little piece of cardboard on the top and some filler if there's a little stop so the ammo doesn't bounce around. And then put the lid on and congratulations, it's out of the environment and it's ready to be stored. Now see, we came up with a simple system. And again, it's as good as the ammo cans except that again, when you compromise the can, in other words when you open the can, that's it. You got to make sure the ammunition is distributed.
or of course is obviously being used, but it's a storage system that supplements the ammo cans and allows you to put it in all kinds of cool things like, let's say you're doing a berry tube, one gallon cans for storage, what you do is you put everything in plastic in the one gallon cans, seal the one gallon cans where you're supposed to, nitrogen, CO2 or rust pack them.
and then stack them inside an appropriate PVC tube that's just big enough so that they fit inside the tube. Now you've got a second layer of protection compartmentalized so that inside the tube you have an entire sub-storage chamber for each of the implements that you're storing. It can be clothes, it can be food, it can be ammunition, medical supplies. One of the cool little tricks, if you ever opened up one of these
German or British gas mask canister holders take a piece of nylon strapping put it underneath the can make sure the strapping is long enough so it'll reach down to where the can sits with each tier as you stack the cans now you don't have to flip the bucket over anything the tube all you do is you pull on the straps and it pulls up the can out of the tube
Now I have an entire storage system set up ready to go. I can even color code the straps if I go to the dollar store because I got this junk laying there or go to the distressed surplus shop where they have stuff from industrial factories. And I can put this stuff together in such a way that I'll know when I grab a certain color strap that I'm pulling out a certain layer of equipment. See how cool that is? How easy is this to sort things out that we're not guessing?
There's all kinds of little things that can be done that are simple and that are solutions. By the way, solutions, one of our guys here on the chatroom mentioned, hey, what about batteries from, for instance, electric forklifts or GoCo? Yes, that is a good choice for batteries. Remember, the companies that use them usually have to cycle them out. And when they do, then they get rid of the old ones. You want to be there to pick up their old ones, which, well, again, they may not work for the forklift, or they just may have to change them because of insurance. This is another issue.
So the batteries might not be bad at all, or they might just be one cell bad in one battery. When you get the others for free or nothing, or almost nothing, take those off to the side and incorporate those into your backup power system. For backup, speaking of backup power systems, one of the things you are going to want to do is go down to your local truck staff because those truck batteries are a deep cell battery. And you can pick those up for little or nothing when they change them out.
because they don't want to get caught on the road without that. But that is one place to go to get a deep cell relatively and extensively. But check there to pick up the ones that have been cast off. Now another thing, talking about the canning too, think about this. Wouldn't it be nice to have a little power pack unit with a recharger?
and a couple other little items buried and put away so that when the time comes, if you couldn't carry it out or if you have somebody else who is in your team that's short, everything you need is sitting right there. The little trick on that with dry pack canning is what we call a B1, a B2, and a B3 unit. B1 units are a Canyon Goody unit done as one can. B2 type unit would be, for instance, pencils, pens, little office supplies, and tobacco products.
and little bit candy and without but tobacco products rolling paper warrior on tobacco but plugs of tobacco uh... cigars not cigarette cigars we're on tobacco for making cigarettes means you can make the tobacco go farther if you're going to be bartering or selling it or trading it
A B3 unit can be more specialized spices and support equipment for cooking just like Nancy brought up. This way you've got subdivisions that you can keep in storage until you need them. The cool thing is that you only have them already pre-divided up so that you only open them as you need them. Well, I hear the music. Boy, we're at the top of the hour already. This hour went fast, ladies and gentlemen. So for all of you that are listening, we are going to be here for the next hour.
As always, God bless the Republic. That's just a new world order. We shall prevail. The Empire is on the run. We are on the march. God bless and good night. Oh, good afternoon. Back in a few minutes. Did you read this? Chicago just became the murder capital of America. I don't understand. It's been a felony to have a gun since 95. I thought that was supposed to prevent murders. Unincrease them. Criminals will always find a way to get guns, while the rest of us are just left defenseless.
Chicago authorities have seized over 75,000 firearms since 1995. And now, Chicago's murder rate is twice as high as New York City. Tonight, while you're asleep, criminals will be at work. Not in Kennesaw, Georgia. In 1982, our city passed a law requiring every household to have a gun. It terrified the criminals, and our violent crime rate is now 75% below the national average. We sleep well here in Kennesaw.
Americans who own guns prevent over a million violent crimes every year and save lives. Get the facts. Visit armedandsecure.org. That's armedandsecure.org.
